Hey y'all, I'm brain' it, beastin' all hot topics every week
It is 701 on the East Coast. It is 401 on the West Coast.
It is the 11th of October and the year of our Lord 2015.
Season 6 episode 11, sequentially 317 times.
I have welcomed you to the clubhouse podcast.
We hope that you're listening to us at your leisure.
Whether you're listening live on your stream, whether you're listening on our archive,
or whether you are an iTunes subscriber.
We don't care how you listen, we're just glad you're here.
My name is Rob and 12 years ago today,
doing anything involving headphones in a microphone was the last thing on my mind.
As it is my wedding anniversary, and yes I did get clearance by the lovely
and talented Mrs. Urban to go ahead and do the show tonight.
But I am not alone.
Joining me across the desk is my co-host and a man that was exactly where I was at exactly
this moment 12 years ago.
He is my co-host, he is Chad Wolves.
Good times that evening.
It was a good time. We had a great time that night.
This week did.
12 years, those are God.
Don't.
It's crazy.
Let's start thinking about you.
Also joining us in this studio is a man that I cannot vouch for his
where about 12 years ago at this time.
So if cops ever showed a bit of my door, I can't help him.
He probably couldn't either.
He is Dave Scott.
Welcome, sir.
That's really good news actually.
I'm glad you don't know.
There are secrets that should be just kept in mind.
And if I did, you'd be a little concerned because we've only known each other about
three years.
That's true.
I'm talking to you.
Happy anniversary about it.
Thank you, sir.
I appreciate it.
I had a really nice dinner on Saturday night or Friday night.
Yesterday, I was around tripping it to Duncan, Oklahoma.
Grace, do you had a benefit show to play up there?
Had a great time.
Beautiful facility.
It was probably the size of your average summer camp.
And it's owned by a church and they use it for rallies and stuff.
Beautiful facility.
Had a great time.
Very tired.
Take us a long time to get home.
That's a first.
But you know what?
I got four days off this week.
I technically think five of you could Saturday.
So I'm good with that.
Hi, gentlemen.
Got a lot to get to.
So let's start with corrections.
Corrections.
One of them is actually an omission from last week.
I tease a story that we never got to.
Oh, really?
And I was during a college football talk.
And I said, coming up in the later in the segment, we were going to talk about something
having to do with boosters and then and completely slip my mind.
So it's just, we'll tell it real quick.
Two weeks ago, the University of Houston, who was doing very very well right now.
And some of Jen's family are alumni of said college.
Universities, the kids say.
They were flying back from their away game.
And the coach, you're going to love this.
The coach took some of the boosters out of first class, put them back in coach.
So the players could fly in first class.
That got him in trouble.
No.
They were cool with it.
Okay.
Good.
So I was, that was pretty cool by me.
Uh, do we end the right place?
Yes, we're in the right place.
Also, I said last week after, uh, Florida be Ole Miss that they were four.
No, they were actually five and out.
Okay.
I was, I keep forgetting that college is always one week farther along than the pros.
So anything else that I may have missed?
No, you, you're, I, I defer to you on things like this.
There.
Sometimes you do catch things, sir.
Yeah, but you have a much more discerning ear than I do when it comes to picking up mistakes.
It was a good tease.
I mean, no.
It was only a one week tease.
You know, it's okay.
It's a good tease.
Let's get a NASCAR.
Today, uh, as of today was the Bank of America 500.
It's Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Conveniently located in Charlotte North Carolina.
Well, that's good.
Your top 10 finishers are us.
Oh, by the way, we're not going to have a rust in the chat room tonight.
He's at the Beach Boys concert.
He just texted me.
I saw a cup.
People on Facebook that are at that.
Enjoy that, sir.
Your top 10 finishers are us follows.
Starting in 9th.
Following to 10th.
In the number 4 to 3 forward is Eric Almeroa.
Brad Tazelowski starts in 13th finishes 9th and the number 2 forward.
And the number 24 Chevrolet starting in 22nd finishing in 8th is Jeff Gordon.
The rainbow warrior.
Yes.
But he's not from Hawaii.
I never understood that.
Yeah.
What's the connection?
I got nothing.
Starting in 14th winding up in 7th is Austin Dylan.
What?
That still sounds like a detective to me.
Did I?
On Austin Dylan.
And the number 3 Chevrolet.
Carl Backflip Edwards starts in 8th finish in 6th and the 9th in the number 19th, Toyota.
And the number 41 Chevrolet.
Kurt Boosh.
Starting in 6th winds up in 5th.
Starting in 5th winding up in 4th in the number 11th, Toyota is Denny Hamlin.
Martin Truex Junior starts in 15th finishes 3rd.
And the number 78 Chevrolet.
And the silver medal position in the number 4 Chevrolet.
Starting in 11th winding up in 2nd is Kevin Harvick.
By the way, another correction from last week.
I was right.
Carvick was sponsored by Sonic in his rookie year.
Barb wire texted me the other day.
He said, I don't know how your memory is better than mine.
I just remember that commercial where he was wearing the hat.
And winning the race.
Starting in 3rd finishing first in the number 224 is Joey Lankano.
I always thought it was something that you would actually owe money to.
It would be a bad idea.
How you do?
You know 20,000 to Joey Lankano.
Take the gun, leave the Known.
Exactly.
We are now in the contender 12.
So let's tell you where we're at right now.
You want to think maybe you're having a bad day.
Then you have to look at Matt Kenton.
But if we remember last week.
Was leading the chase.
If you remember, sir.
vaguely.
This week he drops 11 spots to 12.
He's barely holding on right now.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still in 11.
Kyle Busch and Ryan Hedo Newman.
Switch places at a 10 and 9.
Brad keselowski stays in 8.
Jeff Gordon in 7.
Carl Backflip Edwards drops 2 to 6.
Kurt Busch jumps 1 to 5.
Danny Hammond drops 1 to 4.
Martin Truex Jr. up to 3.
Kevin Harvick.
The aforementioned Kevin Harvick up 10 spots.
To the number 2 position in the chase right now.
So one mighty fall and one mighty lead.
I don't know.
This may be the big to two biggest jumps we've seen.
Because the chase is only a couple of years old.
But I haven't seen this kind of a jump in point savings in a long time.
If ever.
And Joey Logano now takes over the number 1 spot by 6 points.
Right now 20 points separate 1 through 9.
And we've still got at least one more race to go in the chase.
Which brings us to our next race.
That was not prepared today.
But it's okay because NASCAR is actually picking up the slack for me.
The website is moving very, very nicely.
Next week.
We go to the Kansas Speedway.
Which is actually right outside of Kansas City.
I've actually stayed in a hotel that's right next to that.
And the one time I was out there.
It was in July.
No, it was June because it was right on the test.
That was where I was staying when Michael Jackson passed away.
You want to talk about hot.
Stay in a hotel right next to a NASCAR track during the week.
When you get in your rental car and it says 120 won on the rebound.
But the next week is the Hollywood casino 400.
That will be on your local NBC affiliate.
Not NBC Sports Network.
This will be on NBC.
So there is that.
You are listening to the clubhouse podcast.
We are your one stop shop for all things sports entertainment.
That being said.
Let's get this in television talk.
So sir, have you finished up here the walking dead?
Oh yes.
And you're verdict.
It was a good stop gap.
Okay, leading to walking dead proper, which premieres tonight.
And I.
And sure my wife is is ready and.
Got got got a popcorn ready at someone once said.
Hmm.
My son's all into that.
I can't just.
I lost it after season two.
I've never watched an episode.
So you're still at it.
But congratulations to fear the walking dead.
It has the highest.
First season cable ratings in the history of Ever.
I'm sure it's it's predecessor.
You know, didn't hurt that.
No, not at all.
You know, I'm saying.
It's going on here.
It's not giving me what I want.
All right.
We'll go back here.
So, you know, there's that.
And get ready for that.
And don't forget the web series.
We talked about last week too.
I believe that fires up tonight as well.
But the flight for 28 or whatever.
It's something like that.
Yeah.
And gum at all the New Jersey.
So we've also been talking recently about.
The uh.
I can get this to work right.
There we go.
The legends of tomorrow series at DC is doing that.
We've talked about where they're bringing back.
Why can't areas white canary and the atoms going to be involved.
And kept in cold and all that.
Mm-hmm.
That has begun filming.
That will be a midseason replacement.
We found out last week.
They just started filming.
They've already got a trailer out.
They've been filming.
Oh, okay.
But they are currently filming in the current season.
Okay.
I'm a treat.
And let's just say I.
I saw a picture on Facebook today that kind of may have spoiled something for me.
And I'm not going to spoil it for audience.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm just going to say that out there right now.
Uh.
I'm kind of interested in how you feel about this.
Um.
Cartoon Network Canada.
Confirms a rumor this week that next fall.
We are getting a brand new Justice League series.
It's called Justice League Action.
That's all we know right now.
Now a couple of months ago during the up front.
So for those of you don't know what this is.
The up front is where it's like a big press conference at the networks have.
Where they roll out all of their shows for the following year.
So a cartoon networks up front.
There's a big wall for the posters.
For things like this new What's Up Scooby-Doo.
Which looks kind of wheels off to me.
Uh, it's got that big eye animation look to it.
Uh.
But there was just a picture of Justice League.
And people were like, here's a question.
So and it just had JLA underneath it.
So what we're being told is that is Justice League Action.
If that's all we're saying, and it's going to be next fall.
I just hope that they don't take it in the direction that they took teen Titans into.
Oh.
That's what I'm worried about given the naming convention.
That's what that's what set up the red flags for me.
Don't let that happen.
Speaking of animation.
And I didn't know this until Wednesday.
Apparently Netflix is carrying a brand new Peabody Mr. Peabody in Sherman series.
Netflix is killing it lately.
Are they are they maintaining the look from the theatrical release?
Oh, there's a hand drawn animation style.
Kind of border lines on Powerpuff Girls.
Dexter's lab style.
Okay.
Chris Parnell from Saturday Night Live is the new Mr. Peabody.
He was actually on the greatness of the Bob and Tom show the other day.
Talking about it.
They actually had a little jeopardy this past week.
Actually had a category dedicated to it.
They even had a little bit with Trebek animated Trebek with his mustache.
Are you kidding me?
Oh, and there's like, I think that's that there's 13 episodes.
They've completed 33.
God.
What concerns me is the subplot in this of Peabody and Sherman having a late night talk show that they broadcasts from the from the panhouse.
So they're doing a spacecales coast to coast type thing.
I don't know how they're doing it, but it's apparently available on Netflix now.
It will depend on the format of said talk show.
If it's if it's done like spacecales with real people.
I'll be in on that.
So we may we would love to see spacecales coast through coast again.
I'm not be able to help you with that.
Yeah, he can help you with that.
Yes.
He knows where he knows where to send you to do that.
I love Brock.
Brock, sorry.
I actually was actually listening to a little Brock show on my iPod the other day.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
It's this Kevin Smith moment.
One of my favorites.
So and Sherman is being played by Max Charles who you might remember as a young Peter Parker an amazing spider man too.
I wonder if that's the kid that did him in the animated film.
I don't think so, but don't quote me on any sign that out.
Because that sounds very familiar.
Congratulations to Blind Spot.
They have gotten the full season order from NBC.
I haven't watched an episode.
I don't know what that is.
It's kind of momentowy.
It's like a girl wakes up and she's got these tattoos all over her body.
Oh, the one that Lady Siff is in.
Yeah.
Lady Siff from the four movies is play is the main character.
Okay.
So my attention.
Like she wakes up in the middle of time square stuffed into a like a piece of luggage.
Covered in these tattoos.
That's how the show says.
Doesn't know who she is.
I know what she came from.
How she got there.
Whatever.
You know, it's.
Also Fox has renewed Bob's burgers for two more season.
Never watched an episode.
I tried.
I really tried to watch that.
I couldn't.
I couldn't hack it.
I couldn't hack it.
And something that my wife and I are that were good news for us.
AMC has renewed halt and catch fire for season three.
Very much enjoyed that show.
That show really roped you in.
It's one of those shows where.
You get to put your like, I don't know if I'm going to keep watching.
And then they do somebody like, okay, I'm back in.
But I really enjoyed it.
And it's also got roamed in the accuser in it.
As well as one of the members.
Lee Paces.
Yeah.
Lee Paces.
One of the main characters.
And then you've also got Cameron who is in the.
The Martian is in this as well.
It is Max Charles.
That was.
That was in the theatrical.
There is.
Yeah.
Because in the movie that Mr. Peabody was.
Type RL.
Yeah.
Fx has renewed tyrant for season three.
Why don't you go to turn and watch that at one point?
I'm not even sure what that is.
It takes place in the Middle East.
It's the.
It's like a political drama.
I don't think that's you're going to check that out.
One.
Disney has also renewed their animated Guardians of the Galaxy for season two.
What are you thinking of that so far?
I've watched that first one hour to episode block.
It's okay.
I'm going to give it time to kind of build.
They're basing it on the movie.
Of course.
Okay.
So smart.
Well, are they basing it on the movie?
Are they just basing it on the team that's in the movie?
Yes.
Okay.
But it's the same basic story.
Okay.
So there.
There's Michael Rooker's character was in the first episode.
Oh, y'all.
Yeah.
Was it Michael Rooker doing the voice?
No.
No.
It's not the same voice cast.
I'd be pleased.
No.
How are the duck?
I've got no problem with how are the duck being introduced in this thing.
As long as we don't.
I don't need to Howard the duck movie.
No.
No.
No.
But he can show up.
But Michael Rooker will be here this weekend at comics.
Yes.
I'm a huge fan of Michael Rooker.
I'm going to throw him in my Jeep.
Nice.
CBS has canceled the Halle Berry Extent.
Some are show.
But she is going to be producing a new legal drama for the network.
And I think it's also in conjunction with Ampline.
I think she's working with Spielberg.
Is it?
Yeah.
Believe so.
In rough news.
Speaking of Spielberg.
Lessons the number of episodes they've ordered for minority reports.
Cut it from like 13 to 10.
Never a good side.
I just never thought this would be a good idea.
No.
Fox doesn't make good decisions.
We know that.
So you know this is going to be a great show.
Christina Aguilera will be returning to the voice for season 10.
Wow.
No.
I can sleep.
Yeah.
We're not.
We're not.
We're not.
We're not.
Cracking out.
Cracking out children in mediocre albums.
Congratulations to Steven Amel on the crew.
The season premiere of Arrow has had its highest ratings since its very first episode.
I was pretty sure.
And you know who he sent a shout out to as responsible for that.
The WWE universe.
He took time to specifically thank the WWE fans.
Now in related news.
I don't see this on the run sheet.
Okay.
In another related DC TV series news.
Did you see who they've announced that is playing the penguins father?
I have not.
One poll.
Rubens.
Very nice.
I got them.
Yes.
Very nice.
I did read the title.
I don't know.
I don't know.
But I just like.
Okay.
Well he's done this before.
I did read today that they're talking about making a flashes suit more tech.
More of a tech style suit.
I don't know.
No.
Is that for the movie or was that for the show?
You know what?
I might have been for the movie.
I'm about to say because they already did like a cosmetic change for the season premiere.
Yeah.
I haven't watched the new one yet.
So I'm not caught up.
Oh, it's it's it's just they made the field behind the lighting bolt white and they mentioned
it in the show goes.
Oh, yeah.
Makes it pop more.
This week.
It's finally the season premiere of Star Wars Rebels.
Thank God.
We wait so long.
Since which.
Mitchell.
Late June.
Late June.
It's called the Lost Commanders.
It's a one hour episode this Wednesday night.
I want to show that.
On the Disney XD.
We're looking at a female inquisitor.
Yes.
Played by Sharon Michelle Geller.
Yep.
We talked about that last week.
I wasn't here.
Do you have iTunes?
What's iTunes?
Layer.
And Kevin James will be returning to CBS for a new sitcom.
About a retired cop adjusting the full-time life at home with his family.
That Paul Bart money.
Will Samler be involved in this thing?
That's all we know right now.
They haven't said anything more than that.
Because he was all over that freaking King of Queens.
Is this just King of Queens part two?
He got fired from his.
Brown truck shipping job and got a job as a cop.
Exactly.
Any other TV news that you guys need to bring up?
No.
The Paul Rubens bombshells.

Jewels, I'm assuming showing up the house this evening.
Yes.
You guys are right.
Your old man's for most of the week.
So she's probably just enjoying being at home.
Yeah.
And many is enjoying her company.
All right.
Let's move on to P.O.I.
P.O.I.
For instance, we're a person of interest.
It is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity
and debate their greatness or lack there of.
My turn this week.
And I kind of want to talk about something that's been in the news quite a bit lately
that I don't know that any of us participate in,
but there is a member of this show who does.
And it is daily fantasy sports.
Whether it be draft kings or fan duels or the two big ones.
I don't know if there's any more big ones out there.
It's weird to me that the NFL and the NHL and the NBA and Major League Baseball
are actually supporting this thing.
Especially in light of recent events.
If you want to go ahead and do it, you could open the door.
You can walk through it.
Well, I mean, I figured that that was the main reason that you wanted to discuss.
It is, but go ahead.
I got no issue with you taking care of this.
Well, it's just one is pretty much accused of insider information leaking with the other kind of...
They go far.
Yeah, and they're both going to court over it.
Yeah.
It's gotten kind of, it got really ugly really quick.
For those of you that don't know what we're talking about,
basically the way it works is you go to these websites and you pay money.
And you get a, you make a fantasy lineup for that day and that day only.
And you're matched up against or you're in a league with other people.
And it pays out real money.
Now, the member of this show that is actively pursuing in this.
I don't know if you are aware of this, sir.
Would be the Justin Timberlake of this show.
Yeah, yeah.
The show has gotten very big into, I believe she's doing fan duel with a friend of hers.
Which really surprised us.
And she's doing well.
Like, she's winning.
Well, look how well she did the, you know, playing the picks with the practice.
I don't want to talk about that.
Well, I'm just saying maybe she's parlaying that.
Uh, but I just, I think it's weird how the, the big four have gone on to this.
I am too.
I figured they'd be frowning all over it.
But I guess it's different from gambling though because they do support fantasy sports.
I mean, the ESPN does, but right before the season started for the NFL,
did like a three hour block of sports center that was just about getting your fantasy draft ready.
But that's for a full season.
This thing walks a really weird line for me.
Like, I don't know how many people watched the game that was played locally here yesterday.
Uh, be the Oklahoma Texas game.
Exactly.
We'll talk about here momentarily.
Um, yeah, I don't want to bury the lead.
Um, that, uh, I saw the commercial for one or both of them.
I lost track.
I lost track how many times they ran the commercial for, the commercials for fan duel.
And it was, it's kind of like, it's just kind of happened.
Because they, they didn't just start this deal.
No, and it's almost pervasive.
It's just back off a little bit.
It's been around much.
But what bothers you most about it is that the day to day or
I don't know that it bothers me.
It's just weird how much the big four have gone onto this.
Because I seem to be so anti that kind of thing.
There's, it's such a weird fine line between just regular fantasy sports and gambling
because this pays out weekly or daily depending because you can do baseball every day.
Yeah, for the better part of six months.
And let's face it.
You know, the major four really don't want you making any money off of them.
Unless they're getting a piece of it.
And they're obviously not getting well.
Maybe they are.
Yeah.
Maybe they're going to be kicking over some stones.
Well, as they're, they're, they're putting their name.
Like, wait till we start watching Sunday night football tonight.
You'll see your the best possible fantasy fan duel lineup.
They're name is on stuff.
So obviously on the pre shows and everything.
Yes.
Wow.
Yes.
That is a thing.
So there is money changing hands.
Hmm.
We've got some, I think we've got some underhand dealings under the table dealings going on.
What didn't boxing have, what is it the golden something?
Who was it that was always like tattooed onto a boxer?
Oh, go.
Oh, casino.
Golden casino.
They were in everything.
They were on people's shorts.
And the weird thing, but to me, by that wasn't weird.
Is where do most of your big boxing cards take place?
Well, golden nugget.
I believe it was golden nugget.
Yeah, golden nugget.
And it was really bad on the UFC as well.
But again, where do most of those take place?
They previews.
Well, the side of a casino.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
Okay.
So on a certain level, that didn't bother me.
But when you have four sports that will not put a franchise in Vegas for those
that reason.
Yeah.
And you're doing this because see, if I, if I play in a fantasy football league,
if I get to pay out, it happens in January.
If I do daily sports, I can wake up in the morning, set a line up.
And I've got money tomorrow morning.
I mean, it's cool on everything that you know that you're interested in.
It's an interesting contest.
It's just weird.
It walks a very weird line to it.
It seems kind of, I don't even know if you would call it an ethical or,
I would call it an ethical college.
It's well within the law.
Yeah.
It's within the law.
So I'm not going to say it's illegal.
It's just a weird relationship to me.
Yeah.
Especially like, more specifically for me, for baseball,
considering they're what they've done with Pete Rose.
And if you touch gambling, you ain't getting anywhere here.
And LB does have a policy that its employees cannot engage in daily
fantasy sports.
So it's just one of those deals.
And I guess, the weird thing about that lawsuit to me,
how can, I mean, you're, you're line up is still your line up.
So how can you have insider trading?
That's my thing.
It's not like fan dual knows about injury reports that draft king doesn't.
Yeah.
There's there's some finer points of this that are obviously going to get.
I work for one and you work for the other.
And I call you and go, hey, I'm starting this guy.
That's just two guys talking.
Yeah.
I would think.
But that's not like, I mean, I can understand if Roger Gdell's secretary
called one of them and said, hey, make these guys more expensive today.
To me, that's insider trading, true.
It's just a weird thing.
And I mean, and it's freaking huge, dude.
And I just, I don't understand why it's just so big now.
You know what I mean?
Because you had to thought that this had been a big deal all along.
Exactly. Ever since ever since the the boom of of of internet gambling
that and and God knows how long ago that started,
you probably have to go back pretty far like what early
odds, very, very early odds.
Maybe this may be even the late 90s because I know that the,
I didn't actually touch the internet until like 95, I think.
Yeah, 95, 96 is my first.
I think the first website ever went to was the website for Batman forever.
I remember that because it had the different look.
Yeah, I remember that website.
That was the first one ever went to was over my sister's house.
After going through, you got mail.
Anything else you want to talk about as far as just ghost
any other opinions?
No, it's going to be interesting to watch.
It's going to be a really interesting story.
And I think that this hold off the face of this thing is different six months
than it is now.
Yeah, we're going to have to come back.
We have a lot of loopholes that people are going to be finding that they shouldn't be finding.
Mm-hmm.
All right.
Let us move on, speaking of football and talk a little college football.
This is hot off the press.
This just happened not two hours ago.
USC coach Steve Sarkizian.
This is the guy that we talked about a few weeks ago
that had to make the rule of, was it no alcohol in the locker rooms?
Yeah, he has asked for a leave of absence from the team
to take care of an unspecified issue.
Mm-hmm.
Herpes?
Probably not.
Wow.
That would have totally different direction than I thought it would go.
HSO.
Yeah.
That's Dave Scotland.
Yep.
But, yeah.
I think it's going to be some kind of rehab.
Especially after he had the drunken meltdown of the, uh,
at the banquet a few weeks ago.
And I love how they try to keep it so non-descript.
Yeah.
Like we know what he's doing.
So while we're overlooking this herpes thing,
I'm just wondering.
Because it's probably not true.
Uh, we go our next date line is Orlando Florida.
Which I need to check something here real quick before I do this.
Because I want to make sure I'm not about to totally just trip over my own words.
Hey, while we're waiting, I see pulled up some good news here.
Okay, go ahead.
Paul Rubens is going to be in Gotham.
I just talked about that.
I know.
I was just like, see the thing about Dave is somewhere.
I don't know whether he's serious or whether he's joking.
Okay, so I'm pretty good here.
Sure.
Date line Orlando Florida.
Where the University of Central Florida currently is oh and six on the year.
There is a sports bar in Orlando and Dave's probably on his phone booking a flight right now.
I mean, that is offering free beer until you see F wins.
I hope they have a cheap supplier.
They ran out last week.
Somebody actually put it and put something on Twitter.
The bar has run out of free beer.
We're hoping they go to well drinks.
Because yesterday they lose to Yukon 40 to three.
Oh God.
Why would they do this?
Why would they agree to do this?
Let me explain a little something about marketing.
When I was a kid, we had a place called Cinnamon Draft House.
It was kind of like what the Alamo or studio movie grew up in.
And they would do Monday night football every week during the season.
And during Monday night football, they would do free beer until the first point scores.
Which normally, okay, you might get away a quarter.
We went there one night and nobody scored till halfway through the third quarter.
There were bodies everywhere.
There was a free nacho bar and half time.
There were half price pieces.
It was great.
But you got to think that the likelihood of that actually happening more than
every once and again is nil.
You see if can't win their way out of a paper bag right now.
And I guarantee you, they're packing people in there.
Oh yeah.
So they're not making a dime.
But they're packing people in there.
Oregon.
I don't know if you saw these special uniforms that they've now unveiled that are celebrating both
Lewis and Clark and the Oregon Trail.
I don't want to look this up.
Silver helmets.
They look a little weird, but not they don't not like Maryland.
Maryland's out.
They're just out there right now.
Saw their uni yesterday.
You almost had to put out a pair of sunglasses to look.
Were they in the summer helmets?
No, they're just incredibly bright, tacky green.
And Navy and Notre Dame when they play.
You'll be interested in this news, sir.
That was yesterday.
It was yesterday.
Yeah.
They were wearing the same under armor, gloves, and color schemes.
They were both celebrating Navy.
Cool.
Okay.
So I have to look that up.
That's pretty neat.
I saw the score flash across the screen and Navy was not doing it.
Well, you talk about upset Saturday and college football.
Let's get to it.
SMU loses again.
USC upset by Washington 17 to 12 and Washington unranked.
See what I'm saying.
My university of 40 gators.
Now six and oh, we are officially bowl eligible.
And now ranked number eight in the country in the latest polls.
Very exciting times that they beat Missou 21 to three.
Army goes down to Duke 44 to three Ohio State with a big win over the aforementioned
Maryland 49 to 28.
The first shock for me of the day came from Dallas, Texas in the cotton ball.
As number 10 Oklahoma loses to Texas by a touchdown.
24 to 17.
You got to think Vegas exploded.
Yeah.
Because I said to my wife the night before this game.
If Oklahoma doesn't win this by four touchdowns, there's something wrong.
Well, there was something wrong.
I mean, I was out of pocket.
I couldn't watch it.
But I was getting updates on my phone.
And I was going, are you kidding me?
I watched every second of it.
It was a great game to watch.
And I don't think Oklahoma didn't lead the entire game.
Did they?
No, I don't think they did.
I just came out and scored twice back to back like immediately.
Number 22 Iowa over Illinois 29 to 20.
Ole Miss number 14 over New Mexico State 52 to three.
Oh, God.
Wow.
Bailer.
Currently the number, they were number three yesterday.
They've been dumped up to number two today over Kansas 66 to 7.
Bailer just steam rolled this game.
It wasn't even pretty.
We watched a little bit of a restaurant last night.
Florida International over UTEP 52 to 12.
Temple 49 to 10 over 2 lane.
Let's see what else we got going on here.
Bowling green over UMass 62 to 38.
Ohio upsets Miami of Ohio 34 to 3.
What else we got going here?
Barn Burner and Boston College as they lose to Wake Forest 3 to nothing.
Oh, my.
That's a tough day.
That's a place to so number 24 Toledo over Ken State 38 to 7.
Clemson over Georgia Tech 43 to 24.
Minnesota Golden Goefers over Purdue 41 to 13.
North Western number 13 gets shot out by number 18 Michigan 38 to 9.
Michigan getting ready to go to Ohio State.
That's going to be a fun game to watch.
Very, very soon.
Wisconsin, he's Nebraska by a safety.
Number 19 Georgia upset by unranked Tennessee 38 to 31.
Georgia not doing well right now as they are falling like a stone.
Number seven LSU and let me send this shout out to LSU.
And I know those words may cause heart attacks.
But this game was supposed to be played at South Carolina.
But due to the flooding, LSU said, you know what?
Come play in our house.
We'll let you be the home team.
Nice rolled out the red carpet for them.
It said go game Cox on the big sign outside the stadium.
The GEAU X that they usually use for the tigers.
Very classy.
That's nice.
That's well done, LSU.
Notre Dame beats up on Navy though.
Oh 41 to 24.
Yeah.
Again, you can beat up on UCF.
Arizona over Oregon State 44 to 7.
University of North Texas loses to Portland State at home.
66 to 7.
Oh.
Number 21 Oklahoma State over West Virginia 33 to 26.
Boise State Colorado State.
This thing got a little weird in the beginning.
But then Boise State works to blow out 41 to 10.
But the one that really got weird for me.
TCU is at Kansas State.
At one point, TCU is the number two team in the country.
They're down three touchdowns at one point.
Geez.
They had to come back from behind late in the game.
And they beat Kansas State by a touchdown 52 to 45.
Miami loses the number 12 Florida State 29 24.
And a game at the first half.
I watched a chunk of the first half of this game.
Very low scoring.
A lot of people that I were talking to is wondering is for the state going to get exposed here.
They win, but it was not pretty.
Number four Michigan State 31 24 over Rutgers.
Cal loses to 23.
Cal loses to five Utah 30 to 24.
And my university South Florida Bulls won.
Yes.
Well, congratulations.
We're very happy with that.
Because Lord knows.
We're just bad this year.
We're not UCF bad, but duck on it.
We're bad.
Let us move on and go to the other side of the coin.
Talk a little.
You know what?
For the first time this season woke up.
I mean, I woke up other times.
But I was about to say it.
I had to watch SmackDown this morning.
So I was ready for the show.
And then I looked at my DVR.
And I went, you know what?
I don't have band practice today.
I'm going to sit down.
And I'm just going to lock into the red zone channel.
And this is where I'm going to be for the next six hours.
But you missed doing that.
I do miss doing that.
And believe me, brother.
That's what I did today.
The red zone channel is one of the greatest inventions in the history of man.
And what the other thing that the red zone channel did for me is it got one of my
tweets favorited by one of my favorite comedians.
Yeah.
We're going to talk about that here in a moment here.
He hit me with this right as I got here.
Third.
I'm sorry.
I didn't hear that.
We're going to talk about here today.
Okay.
Thursday night Indianapolis, 27, 20 over Houston in a.
I said on Twitter this morning, there's a lot of sloppy football
being played this season, especially for week five.
Yeah.
Saw your Facebook post.
We can't get this locked into for some of these teams.
Jacksonville loses the Tampa Bay and a game that.
Good Lord sucks to have the under 38 31.
James Winston says after the game.
Well, I was focused on not turning the ball over.
Not quite all year responsibility when that happens, sir.
New England.
I'm glad Chad was not watching the TV in the studio as we started the show.
30 to six was your final today.
But you know what?
Again.
Was anybody really believing you were going to beat anyone?
No.
We were kind of expecting it.
It started out kind of shaky.
I mean five sacks by the Dallas defense in the first half.
They played it, but there's two have to football.
And that's the thing.
The Washington football club loses to Atlanta 25 19.
So NFC East.
We thank you for that.
Another undefeated goes down.
Cincinnati over Seattle 27 24.
And a game that was very, very, very back and forth.
This was this was a fun game to watch when they would tune into it on the redstone channel.
The packers over St. Louis 24 to 10 Aaron Rogers.
Now, when you hear tomorrow that PCI has to make a bunch of apologies, it will be to Aaron Rogers.
Why is that?
Thursday they interview A.A. Ron Rogers.
And they make the point that he has not thrown a pick in Lambo in like five or six years.
He throws two in the first half.
But they pulled out the win.
I always hate those stats.
And it's just like, you've said that now it's got to happen.
They talked about the video he did with Olivia Mun when she was learning her martial arts.
And how he was like basically video bombing her.
And apparently if you watched the video, you watched it.
But I think she knew he was standing there with the candlestick.
He's like, I just had to show my skills.
I like that kid.
I really, really do.
Buffalo where they one point win over the Tennessee Titans today, which does not help me.
At all, Chicago, 1817 over Kansas City.
And now let's get to my tweet of the day as I tweet to the great Castaki economy.
Which now means I have been favorited by a guy that's on the NFL network.
Just want to say that.
Nice.
Nice.
I was in the kitchen grabbing something to drink.
I heard the commentators of the game use the words Jay Cutler and clutch in the same sentence.
And my response was, was it his wife asking for her purse?
Oh, that's cute.
Because I'm not putting Jay Cutler and clutch in the evening.
Even on Twitter, somebody put it on Twitter.
Like, just put Jay Cutler clutch and Karissa Thompson reach me to read that like four times.
But they win by a point.
I wouldn't call them in clutch.
I think we used the word clutch a little too loosely in current sports commentary.
The game's beloved Philadelphia Eagles opened a can at home today.
Beating New Orleans 39 to 17.
So again to the NFC East, the NFC South.
Thanks you.
Fly Eagles fly baby.
Yes.
Only a win.
The Cleveland brought by the way.
We had three overtime games in the noon games alone today.
A lot of crazy finishes in the noon games today.
In overtime, Cleveland over Baltimore by a field goal, Arizona taking Detroit to the woodshed.
42 to 17.
In the third quarter, Matt Stafford gets pulled for Dan Orlovsky, who I didn't know wasn't still in Denver.
Denver, 16 to 10 over Oakland, that was kind of a fun game to watch.
But here's a stat for you about Denver that they said during the game.
As of now, Denver has won 16 straight road division games.
That's impressive.
Although I mean, and you know what, Peyton had some good stuff today.
Still not Peyton of 10 years ago, but he had a couple of days dipped in there.
Tonight San Francisco at the Giants ratings Bananas.
Did you see the deal last week with Clay Matthews?
No.
He's sax of Colin Kaepernick, and you can hear him on camera.
You ain't Russell Wilson, bro.
Commemot of Clay Matthews, Russell Wilson and Russell Wilson right now.
Oh, kiddin.
What is it with quarterbacks outside these huge deals, and then forget how to play football?
It's having a copy.
It's having a Kaepernick this year.
It's having a Wilson this year, because both of those guys signed huge contracts.
Happens all over sports though.
Yeah.
Tomorrow night, Pittsburgh at San Diego.
This could be a mess.
Just saying, both of these teams are not playing.
What I would consider to be up to their standard.
But what do we know about San Diego?
Start strong and then fall apart.
Next week, Thursday night, a divisional game at Atlanta at New Orleans.
Atlanta now coming off their first loss.
The world was just trying to get the rails back on the thing.
They did not look good today.
No, they did not.
But hey, that's what's for you.
Also, on the by next week, Oakland Dallas Saint Louis and Tampa Bay.
So you're getting ready to play the Giants in two weeks, sir.
I want to say that's prime time, but we'll look.
My beloved dolphins will be at Tennessee at noon.
Other one o'clock Eastern games.
Cincinnati at Buffalo.
Denver at Cleveland and Chicago at Detroit.
God, can Kansas City at Minnesota.
This is a game that might be one of the surprise good games of the day.
The Washington football club will be at the JETF choke choke choke.
Also, Arizona at Pittsburgh.
This could be a game.
This could be a fun game to watch.
Houston will be at chess.
And on the other side of that coin.
Woo!
Your late games.
Carolina at Seattle.
San Diego at the frozen tundra of Lembovie.
But when I forgot to talk about the radius.
Baltimore will be at San Francisco Sunday night next week.
New England at Indianapolis.
Will Andrew luck be healthy?
You know, I mean, hassle back played very well Thursday night.
And the guy was sick as a dog.
So this could be an interesting game to see Thursday night.
I'm sorry, next Sunday night in your NBC affiliate.
Next Monday night.
Giants at Philadelphia.
And a game Chad just wants to end in a zero zero tie.
And with a bomb going off on the field.
Wow.
He said right there dude.
We are.
He's right there.
It's my team.
I can't stand the Eagles.
I love my boy, but I can't stand the Eagles.
I was raised at 8th Eagles.
I'm sorry.
I wouldn't do that to you.
Unless you're a Florida stage fan.
And then I see you can take the stairs.
You can take the window.
I don't care which one.
I was like.
You should be for the window.
So she's since we're in a one story story.
Speak.
Actually, you can read from music talks.
That's a great segue.
Let us keep moving into some music talk.
Check down a band that has.
Austin had on this podcast as past Thursday called the three and 20 band.
I'm kind of enjoying their work.
They call themselves Southern Swing.
Swing.
Yeah.
But you know what?
You might be surprised.
I really, they've got one album and a single on iTunes.
Quite enjoyed their work.
I bet he's a little upset that there's just an extra four digits in their name.
So.
You said it's the 320, 320.
Oh, you know what?
I didn't even think about that.
They've been the 316 band.
They've got his first episode.
They've been doing his theme song.
They've been talking about.
So in news, I'm not sure how to deal with.
Apparently.
Band out of hell is becoming a musical.
If we can do a musical about ever.
Which was good.
We can do a musical about queen.
We can do a musical about Billy Joel.
I mean, I don't think anything's really off base.
But the point, the point, the point was like, if you think about it,
this album was probably written as a musical originally.
Yeah.
As long as meatloaf has very little involvement.
Because from what I understand, that dude is completely insane now.
It wouldn't surprise me.
I just, you know why I'm out on this.
Probably the same reason I'm out.
There's one song on this album that makes me want to just jump off of a roof.
Well, no, I have to know.
Paradise by the dashboard light.
Why?
It's just a beating.
It's 19 hours long.
I have it on repeat in my sound.
Sorry.
Be a karaoke DJ and then fill the same way.
Oh, that's part of the reason.
I know that had to be a big part of the reason.
So I thought about putting the two of you through absolute torture in this next song.
But I won't do it.
Because I'm a giver.
Okay.
Apparently, how do you boo-boo has a single?
Don't you dare.
Oh, please do it.
It'll be hilarious.
It's called moving up.
Oh, the eye.
The way I stated it on Twitter.
I now know what it feels like to be slapped upside the head with a shovel.
Like the chicken and video meme.
I heard that when I heard Will Smith kids sing with my ear.
Let me give you just my version of the first five seconds of this show.
It was a little bit.
Literally how it starts.
Oh, it's three and a half minutes of that.
It makes me long for the days of a yoga on a solo album.
I am buying that on iTunes.
You put Rebecca Black's Friday on repeat.
It makes Friday seem like the William Tell overture.
It's fair.
It's fair.
It's fair.
And really, the audio doesn't do it enough justice.
You need to see the video.
There's choreography.
Please.
Oh, there's a video.
There's a video.
Oh, no. There's a video.
I'm going to go to YouTube after this.
Ward. There. There aren't a word, sir.
Was it shot in Walmart?
It was shot in like a makeshift studio.
And Mama June, the human thumb is there as she's called on the soup.
And the guy producing it looks like he could not be happier.
It's like he's just all into it.
This is the best work he's ever done.
It's not the same people.
It's not the art music factory.
At least there's quality to the video with those people.
Somebody shot this on an iPhone.
And it's out there.
It is out there.
I have to enjoy what I post with my iPhone.
Yeah, but I mean, you're not trying to...
There's a difference between what you're doing.
Because number one, you take the time to edit it properly.
Yeah.
Number two, you don't have Honey Boo Boo in it.
Because she is the reason the rest of the world hates us.
Let's be honest.
Not a reason.
The reason.
And Dave does bat dead videos.
So Dave gets a pass.
That I do.
Sir name increases my blood pressure.
We have announced your host S for the American Music Awards.
You can't take it with this.
Because this song...
Yeah, this song is one of the ultimate ironies for me.
You're from the block you have to talk about it.
What's my theory?
The more you of something you say you are, the less of that thing you really are.
Yeah.
And continuing all through the video.
She's like dripping in jewels and cruising on a yacht.
I'm like...
How many yachts are in Brooklyn?
That's all I want to know.
I mean, how much I'm...
What's the average body of water size in Brooklyn?
She's got the Affleck putting sun tan lotion on her and stuff.
It's landlocked.
So there's no...
I know where I came from.
Because I can find it on a map.
That's about it.
I've been in the Brooklyn.
I watched the guy pooping a box.
I'm done.
I'm done.
You can't.
I was invited here.
I was invited here.
I was invited here.
I was invited here.
I...
You're all the dice.
You can't watch it.
I'll enjoy that later.
But do you know what?
Do we have a name for the ship?
I'll show it.
I give him credit for one reason.
He actually edited himself on the fly.
Which if you know Dave...
Yes.
Can be a challenge.
Mr. Anti-filter.
And speaking of things of that nature.
Reanna announces the name of her next album.
It's going to be her 8th album.
It's going to be called Anti.
pooping a box.
And bad boy entertainment has teamed up for records for two epic records for two more people.
Did he daddy albums?
Because if it's something this America is clamoring for.
It's more peop of daddy daddy.
Hold on to that.
Wow.
It's not 1998.
Okay, here's the power cleanser.
AFI lifetime achievement award is going to John Williams.
Yes, I read it.
Now we can get this thing back on the track.
And then I should have been like five years ago.
I would have given to 20 years ago.
Well, he got the Kennedy honors.
Did you ever... did you watch that?
No.
I have never been moved to tears more for something that involved John Williams's music.
And I was then.
I mean, they basically just as he was standing in the balcony with his,
you know, with that metal that they give them.
And the orchestra was playing a medley of mind blowing music.
And he was standing there and he got choked up.
We did a medley of his stuff in the symphonic band High School where it was.
The indie theme, the Imperial March and the 84 Summer Olympics theme.
Oh, I love that summer Olympics.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
I'm actually surprised.
Like I listen to movie soundtracks just to calm me down.
Oh, absolutely.
And yeah.
And sometimes just to get my head into the movie again.
But I will listen to him on Spotify.
And I can't believe how much stuff is just but done by John Williams.
It's amazing.
There's like an inner circle about five guys that do about 80 percent of the movies you see.
Yeah.
We lost one of them this year.
Unfortunately.
But so I kind of wonder about your next opinion on this serve.
There is a band that's going to do a 25 date North American tour for the first time in eight years.
Next year.
I was never a really big fan of this group.
Back when, you know, you know, the old line in Pulp fiction that you're either a Beatles guy or an Elvis guy.
Back back in the day, you were a Peshmo.
You're either a Pesh guy or a Cura guy, right?
But you know who they're a lead singer is.
Robert's me either Robert's me.
I loved that episode.
Thank you.
Good bye Robert Smith.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Good bye Robert Smith.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Robert Smith is the one that defeats her.
I didn't catch a lot of South Park.
They get a little too.
This was like season one.
Yeah.
Back when it was good.
Yeah.
But I can't say that I wouldn't go see him.
I wouldn't pay a bajillion dollars to do it.
And you'd have to.
I can almost promise you that.
I would almost depend on where they're playing.
It's hard to say that if you actually put a Depesh mode and cure album together of all
the greatest hits of them, I could not tell the difference.
I wouldn't judge him for that because some people can't.
The Pesh mode was big for you sir.
But vocally, Dave and Robert are completely different vocalists.
But not a lot of people know the catalog well enough to be able to say.
Yeah.
I mean, you could tell one person singing voice from another person singing voice.
I mean, the overall thematic elements of the song are usually pretty dark and depressing.
This song here being the rare exception for the cure.
The 80s to me where it was nothing but a.
A mosh pit of one hit wonders.
You know, so I'd say for me to remember these artists.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think we have to remember is that not everyone is you and I.
You know.
Well, but I mean, I don't do cuts on a lot of these.
Yeah, but I know the stuff that he is fond of.
And it kind of surprises me that that these two didn't have an impact on you.
I think I think that if you picked up the cure's grace, it's galore.
I think you listen that and go, oh, I know that song.
I know that song.
Yeah.
There's a couple songs that would jump out of you.
I didn't realize that was them.
Look, if they didn't play in a mall in Jersey in 1980 something.
They did.
Did they rust me?
They did.
In a mall?
Oh, you mean, like, played a concert in the mall?
Yeah.
Or played like music overhead while you were shopping.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
You remember that whole big thing, you know?
I just remember Tiffany doing it.
That was pretty much the only thing that Debbie gave us and did it for a while.
Yeah.
That was the only one that was out there.
No, I wasn't going to.
I'm just saying, I thought the fan of both of them.
I thought that those were the only acts that really did that.
And you don't really strike me as a, I saw her standing there t-shirt wearing guy.
So.
And on sci-fi films, I think.
It's true.
So in the, you're a more on moment of the week, Kanye West rails yesterday.
That's all you got to say.
You rails?
He has a rant about games within that purchases.
How they're wrong.
Who are you married to?
Ha ha ha.
Because she's got one.
She's definitely has like 10 million in a month off of one.
Yeah.
And what is he complaining about?
How does he even pay attention to this kind of stuff?
He's gotten milk.
Obviously he doesn't because he wouldn't realize that any of you can see it.
Any of you can see what a word is because I'm so mad about this of his wife.
And you can see I like that.
Oh.
And the people are like, I totally understand what he's saying.
I'm so cute.
You're idiots.
I mean, no, I do agree with him.
But none of the people that aren't don't see the horrible irony here.
All right.
So let's get into some more happy news.
This week.
The nominees for the 2015 rock and roll.
Hall of Fame class.
We've been revealed.
We're going to go through them.
This one leaves the list.
Amen.
It's not going to get it.
You don't think so.
No.
I think the timing of her new album is very auspicious.
Yeah.
Which I have.
I have yet to listen to.
But I do have it.
So Dave says no, Chad says yes.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
She does.
Also.
Rezner yes, nine inch nails.
No.
All right.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
I don't even know about Rezner, but no, but nine inch nails.
No.
Well, Rezner really didn't.
Shouldn't we put the sampler in and out the band?
Well, I'm just saying that Rezner really didn't do a lot outside of his movie
scoring work.
But I think the rock and roll Hall of Fame would recognize.
I just, I don't know.
I'm not pretty hate machine was a good album outside of that amount.
Downward spiral.
Didn't like it.
Closer did nothing for you.
Remember what I did for a living for 20 years?
I know, but still.
I mean, that song beats me in the submission.
No, no pun intended to give him the subject matter.
All right.
Since I don't have anything clean by them, I'll say NWA.
This is their fourth nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
And the reason I got this, I know this is clean because it's in the Tomb Raider soundtrack.
NWA, yes.
Especially after what happened a couple of months ago.
The movies are going to put them in.
What about these guys?
Like you learn how to use a mouse there we go.
My question is, why are they not in?
Why Chicago not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
I think this is their time right now, yes.
They have to go in.
These next guys I'm kind of on the fence on.
Again, I'm surprised they're not already in though.
I like cheap trick.
But are they Hall of Fame worthy or have they just had staying power?
I mean, they're guitars is amazing.
Yeah.
I don't know.
They've definitely had an impact.
I was on a real big fan of cheap trick, so it doesn't matter me other way.
Third nomination for these guys.
Again, I'm stunned they're not already in.
I'm good with any excuse to have David Coverdale make a speech anywhere because he's David Coverdale.
But I don't know if his lineup would be the one they put in.
No.
The first guitar song everybody learns.
But this is their third nomination.
Here comes another one.
I'm shot.
Then there's these guys.
This does shock me that they're not in.
Yeah.
I keep hearing songs like play the guitar hero.
Play the guitar hero.
Exactly.
Okay.
But the cars I remember is what only five get in, right?
Is it five or six, something like that?
Oh, good luck.
Another person I'm surprised is not in.
Chuck and Collins about them.
Because you know what's going to happen if she doesn't get in.
She's going to be mad.
And we don't want shocker to be mad.
Shocker real mad.
Now up next.
The tenth nomination for this band.
This is a record.
I love these guys.
I love sheke.
Nile Rogers.
I know it's a boy.
I know it's a boy.
Nile Rogers.
Oh, yeah.
You look at the body of work.
It does as a writer producer.
That's it's insane.
And he basically invented this style of guitar play.
Yeah.
What do you like the primary producer on the majority of Madonna's early work?
Yeah.
It was just all Nile Rogers pretty much for her first three albums I think.
This generation knows him from the Daphne punks on the get lucky.
Yep.
Yeah.
I mean, I'm a big Nile Rogers fan.
A band called the JB's.
I don't know who that is.
It's James Brown's horn section.
Oh, is it?
No, no, no, no, no.
Yeah.
Also these guys, the remake not the original.
Because that's all I had by them that you would know.
You know what?
I don't have a problem with this.
Because I can guarantee you.
I could all I would almost put money on it.
That if you did enough digging, they've got the credentials.
But given.
But just not on a main cause.
I don't know.
Yeah.
The answer in the hall of fame that you would.
I don't know who that is.
I think these guys probably have the credentials because they wouldn't be on the list otherwise.
So I'm kind of okay with it.
This is given the given the strength of this list though.
They may have a huge to fair point out in the climb getting in.
And then another member.
Huh?
I think missing a member.
Lost levels?
Yep.
Yeah.
Where are we going with this?
I got nothing.
Okay, forget it.
I'll bring up afterwards.
And another fifth fail.
Oh.
And another.
Why isn't he in the Hall of Fame yet?
Not a fan though.
Oh, I'm a huge fan.
I love Steve Miller.
The Joker for me on the radio is an instant punch out.
Instant punch out.
But he's got so much better stuff than that.
Again, I'm not a Steve Miller fan, but I believe he should be in the Rock and
Hall of Role.
I mean, he contributed.
I feel the same way with Steve Miller as I feel with BTO.
I love this song.
I could do without Steve Miller.
I love Role.
How do you feel about this one?
I love this song alone.
I love it.
Again.
Rock and Roll Hall thing.
But the question you've got to ask yourself.
Strength of the class.
He's competing against.
Strength of the class is competing against number one.
Number two.
Is he going to show up?
Probably not.
He probably is all disestablishmentarianism about it.
Oh, you know, they deserve me to contingent.
Strength of the BTO.
More is he getting over yourself.
Son.
He's way too suffer.
I just take your pompador and go somewhere.
I can't.
He's just, he just, he just reeks of achiness.
But I hate for him.
Some people, you know what?
The Smiths.
Because it's just about to say, like Sam Smith reminds me a lot of him.
Oh dear God.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.
Stupid pompador.
That'd be kind of funny.
These guys.
Oh God.
Goosebumps all over.
I love this better.
I get it.
But they should be in.
Yeah.
I get why they're not, but they should be in.
Yeah.
This is kind of out of my generation.
But it's just, you know, whatever.
If you've got this sound, I'm in.
Yeah.
You know?
I'm instantly hooked on stuff like this.
I love this.
Son of a wall.
I can't see you here.
This is not be happy.
And it's, to me, it's, I'm already picturing a scene in a, in a, in a, in a, in a, in a,
Tarantino film.
You're driving down the PCH.
The tops down.
Son is shining.
This sounds like it should be.
This sounds like it should be in Guardians of Galaxy too.
Yeah.
Probably would be.
This is actually from the, this one I got from the soundtrack to a film called
Beautiful Girls, which is a wonderful film.
But Uma was in there, right?
Uma was in it.
Very young Natalie Portman.
There's their Tarantino connection.
Who has a, has a crush on the main character who's an adult.
He goes back to his son for his high school reunion.
Yeah.
And she's looking at him from, he's, she's outside.
He's on his little stairway window.
And she goes, look.
It's Romeo and Juliet, the dyslexic version.
It's kind of like, I do love this movie.
And again, how are you?
If you're Doc Halzer, there's no reason for these guys not to be in.
I can see the, I can see the, I can see the MTV opening.
I can see the argument from both sides on this one.
Because you can't put these guys in and not have cheap drinking.
Yeah.
You don't know what I mean?
So, I'm going to be interested, usually the, the actual induction class will be announced
I believe it's in mid January.
The, the ceremony is in March and then HBO will air it may.
I still have this year's on the DVR.
I haven't watched it yet.
Is there a lot of prog rock in, in the hall though?
You know, rush has got to be in.
Yeah.
If rush is in, that just opens the flood gate.
They put this, put them in the room right next to rush.
So.
All right.
Let's go to a music new releases and places you get music new releases this week.
Demi Lovato releases confidence.
And machine gun Kelly, if he had never been on WWE television,
I would never know who he is.
Release is general admission.
Anybody for in Memorial this week?
I don't, I couldn't think of anybody.
That really, like, maybe go, ooh.
Oh, shoot.
And I had one and it completely slipped my mind now.
Okay.
I feel terrible now.
Let us combine sports and entertainment talk a little pro professional wrestling.
I'm about this play for just a minute.
Because somebody has joined the company full time as a road agent.
This.
Really?
Amy, do you miss?
Really?
Trish strad is his best friend.
That makes me smile.
I know that makes my water happy.
She is full time with the company now.
Also, Chris Jericho has signed a deal for his fourth book.
It will be called No as a four letter word.
I like that.
I like that concept.
That's funny, though.
So also.
Mark Henry has stated that he will retire after WrestleMania 32.
He'll get his home state.
Good for him.
Why not?
Yeah.
It's good idea.
That does he go to the hospital.
There was your celebrity.
That's one of the members of three six mafia died.
Yeah.
I did see that, but that's not who I was thinking about.
I'll see if I can find it.
I mean, I didn't know who the dude was until they said it on the deal.
Let's talk a little rock, shall we?
Somebody in the production truck.
Screwed the pooch this week.
I wish you had been here.
Because when the show started, probably about the first hour of the show.
Cole's voice is coming out of my front mains.
Okay.
Byron Saxon's coming out of my center channel.
JBL's coming out of the rear speakers.
What the heck?
I don't know what was coming on.
Oh, I know who it was.
Poprewed home.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
He died the day after my birthday.
I don't think of him.
But yeah, I don't know what was going on there.
But it was freaking me out.
And Byron's voice was at a lower volume than the other two.
And I'm telling you, it was like for the first full hour of the show.
It was weird.
Oh, shoot.
There's another one.
Okay.
Go ahead.
Gale's Apa.
Frank's Apa's widow died on my birthday.
And Gene Allen, the American art director for the, for Ampass, from 83 to 85 passed away
on my birthday as well.
But they didn't get it fixed in the second hour.
So, gosh, that had to have been just playing.
It was playing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And boy when Shamus came out, dim the lights in front of him.
He was literally glowing in my living room.
Like, I felt like I had to grab my sunglasses.
It was so bad.
But you know what?
Guess who got a win on Monday nights?
Whoop.
Natty.
Good.
Natty got a win.
She's kind of taking pages place on team PCB, which we'll talk about here in a while.
Because they did something on SmackDown.
And there's that.
JBL's quote, because they were in, they were in Boston.
That's not a New England table.
It's not deflated.
What?
Oh, what?
Really?
How desperate are you for a pot?
God.
That's a dead joke.
A little bit of a reach there.
Yeah, but it was a table.
How many tables do you know?
They were inflated tables in the face?
That's what I'm saying.
And if that wasn't bad enough, because remember, we were in Boston.
During, at the end of the show,
Michael Cole, Lesnar, with a wicked F5.
Really?
That happened.
That's pretty stupid.
Yeah.
That's pretty insensitive.
That happened.
And that's all I got for wrong.
That was three hours.
Lucha Underground says their season two will start in January.
I really wish we had the L-right network, because I would like to watch the show.
And there's no way you can get it.
Did they even offer it on you?
I think you can get it on YouTube.
You can't get it on you first.
Oh, okay.
So there's that.
TNA allegedly talking to as many as four networks, but they're not naming who the networks are.
But they cancel the entire Gulf Coast Halloween hardcore tour they were going to do.
They're saying logistically it wasn't going to work.
Logistically it wasn't going to work.
Because of the way things the filming taping schedules stopped trying to spin me.
Just because I'm going to be honest with you sir.
I want to let you know that I'm about to melt your brain.
Okay.
Because we haven't talked this week with something TNA related.
So you don't know what's happened.
Last week was down for glory.
Okay.
Matt Hardy becomes your world heavyweight champion.
I'm about to sink in for a minute.
Okay.
Also remember they have taped no shows.
Pass bound for glory.
Okay.
So all this stuff that they've already got in the can.
Doesn't have that hardy as your world champion.
Oh my.
Stay with me.
So Monday.
EC3 releases a video where he has put in.
And by the way, look at the TV.
He just missed it.
It was a fan do I think.
He has he and his lawyers and his attorneys.
Apparently according to Pope.
Have filed an injunction against Matt Hardy having the title on television.
Because Jeff Hardy is the one that cost him the match.
So Matt for one month cannot appear on impact wrestling carrying the title.
Because they haven't filmed anything with him having the title on it.
So you think to yourself.
Okay.
That kind of makes sense.
It's kind of cheap.
But I can roll with it.
Well then Wednesday morning the day impact airs.
Matt Hardy releases a video that says he's talked to Dixie Carter.
And so to keep the integrity up.
So now the title is vacant.
Stay with me because we're not done yet.
But the clutch thing was hard enough to say.
So later in the day Dixie Carter and Billy Corgan have a press release.
A video press release.
Yes, that Billy Corgan.
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
We're going to have something called the World Title series.
And the way it's going to work is you're going to have four different groups.
Kind of like the World Cup actually going to have eight different groups that we know of.
There's actually going to be 16 because one person is going to come from each group through group
around Robin stuff.
And there will be a 16 person.
That is the word.
Single elimination tournament for the title.
We revealed the first four groups.
This past week.
In the wild card group.
These are all people vying for a shot at the World Heavyweight title.
Okay.
Now my first thought is 64 people.
Do you have that many people in the roster?
Stay with me.
Okay.
In the wild card group.
You have crazy Steve.
The guy with all the clown makeup.
You have Kenny King who we know is not with the company anymore.
You have Mahabali Shira.
And you have Aiden Oshay.
Who nobody's ever heard?
In the champions group.
You have EC3.
Mr. Anderson.
Austin Aries.
Who we know is not with the company anymore.
And Bobby Lashley.
In the UK group.
We have Drew Galaway.
Rockstar Spud.
Grotto.
And Bram.
Who we know is not with the company.
And then you have the knockouts group.
You heard me correctly.
Vying for a shot at the World Heavyweight title.
Check it out.
That's where you were going with this.
Gail Kim.
Madison Rain.
Awesome Kong.
And Brooke Tessmark.
Apparently this was booked back in July.
And this is going to carry them for the rest of the year.
And they're getting ready to head to India for a month.
So there's allegedly going to be TV tapings over there.
This is so bad.
This is so bad.
I believe this is an industry term called grass being a straw.
Yeah.
I checked out about like two minutes for that conversation.
Yeah.
Dave was out.
So you know it's not going to bring new people in because Dave's already clocked out.
This is how much college football.
This is happening.
And there's more and there are announcing more groups this week.
So idiotic.
All right.
Notes from impact.
But the pope says a world title to him and it's innovative.
It was innovative 40 years ago.
Yeah.
He's scared of me when he does that.
Don't say it.
And I just wanted to know how long it's going to go before somebody like Austin
Aries Christ found.
And it just comes out and says, yeah.
You know, this is just like super glue and bubble gum together.
Right?
You don't get that.
And you know what?
I'm officially done with Josh Matthews.
How he actually got Madison rain to marry him is beyond me.
Wow.
But he spent a couple of three minutes just basically.
We don't have J.R.
Here's how he called this match.
So you go pound sand, son.
You leave that man alone.
That man's a hall of fame.
You can't even walk down a hall.
Wow.
I would do.
I was mad in the wet hand.
Slumbernucker.
Slumbernucker.
Shut up.
God.
You do not mock that man.
Because I can guarantee you that man has helped your career at least once.
He's got a lot of people's careers.
But in other interesting news.
Guess who's officially an NXT?
Really?
One of them is.
His name is cowboy James Storm.
These rumors have been going nuts all week.
He shows up at the NXT taping this week.
However, rumors are saying that TNA is making him an counteroffer.
So it may or may not be a done deal.
If WWE put him on television.
And they make the announcement that he debuts on NXT.
That deal is signed.
Dixie go pound sand.
But he wants to do what he's calling a player coach role.
Which I'm totally okay with.
Because the guy's got skins on the wall.
He's been this business for over a decade.
And he is using the name Cowboy James Storm.
Because I saw a picture of him standing on the turn buckle in the NXT arena.
Okay, yes.
I did see you post that.
And it said Cowboy on the thing.
That's a thing, sir.
And you know what?
Get him to the roster right now and put the intercontinental title on him.
Because I'm not saying the clock is ticking.
But you are hitting while the iron is hot.
Somebody got married this past weekend.
Baptista.
Did you say fourth time?
That's what I read.
Did you see her profession?
No, what is she?
She's a professional pole dancer.
Hey, yes.
She's a world champion professional pole dancer.
Hey, for Reese's a world champion too.
She's a little bit.
Where do I go?
Congratulations to Baptista.
But getting married in less than one month from today.
And Vegas is this guy.
Really?
Yep.
And so he's going to be tasting.
You're going to have him and seen both gone for a while.
But he got remarried already.
They got engaged.
He hadn't got married yet.
Okay.
You're not think Misty would have posted this on the face.
True.
We love our Misty.
From side.
And Patrick from tough enough has allegedly been signed to WWE, which I really could care less about.
Because I was not a fan of him.
And congratulations to Rosa Mendez.
Not only expecting her first child, but her boyfriend proposed to her while they were filming for
Total Divas in Paris.
But that didn't suck.
Okay.
Okay.
So congratulations to the Rosa Mendez.
Who's also now a correspondent for SmackDown?
A couple of things from a SmackDown.
The.
The new day has gone down to this thing where they're calling people booty.
Am I just too old to get that reference?
You're booty.
You're so booty.
I got nothing.
You called somebody an ass?
Because they don't get it.
I don't know.
And also.
I want you to think about it now.
Because now page is separated from her group, right?
So now it's nanny.
Becky.
And Charlotte.
I want to guess what they're called.
I got nothing.
Team NBC.
Who is the parent company?
That's true.
Of sci-fi and USA.
See what you did there.
Not as bad as the big show.
Because that maybe the cheesyest one they've ever done.
Because that was at the height of the Monday night wars.
And his initials were TBS.
Not as cheesy as that, but it's in the ballpark.
Just saying.
I mean, I really wish I was lying here.
All right.
Let's get into movie talk, please.
I beg of you.
Box office numbers.
Let's do this thing.
From our friends at box officemojo.com.
We always like to give credit where credit is due.
Except the words not.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week.
War room.
$1.8 million.
$7 weeks.
$63.6 million on a $3 million budget.
My dad and step mom went and saw this on their anniversary.
What did they think?
They were blown away.
This is a faith-based film.
Oh, I know.
Yeah.
I saw Kirk and I'm pushing it.
So even though, you know, him aside.
Shout out to them.
I like him.
That's a whole different level of crazy.
Oh, no.
Freaks me out.
Like, not in a good way.
My wife and I were trying to meet him for the.
Love worth fighting for the next month.
So I thought that was.
Oh, you would you try to go last year when they did it?
Yeah, we would.
Okay.
And also dropping out the perfect guy after five weeks.
Dropped from 10 to 12.1.4 million dollars five weeks.
54.7 million there.
I'm going to be okay because the budget for that was 12 million dollars.
Dropping from 8 to 10 this week is the M9.
Shamanama ding dong song.
The visit.
$2.4 million dollars five weeks.
$61 million dollars on a five million dollar budget.
Apparently he paid for it on his own from the fees.
He did from his last film.
They got from his last film.
Really?
Yeah.
I just have no faith in him anymore.
No, I've heard this one is really, really good.
I think I know the bit to it because I looked it up on IMDB.
And they don't refer to what it is, but I think I can piece it together.
It's not.
I saw the trailer.
I'm kind of out.
Dropping from 7 to 9 this week is Everest with $3 million.
$4 weeks 38.2 million dollars 55 million dollar budgets.
I still want to see that.
I don't.
Dropping from 6 to 8 is black mass 3.1 million dollars.
$4 weeks 57.6 million dollars on a 53 million dollar budget.
Just made it.
And that's a pretty good thing.
Charleston.
Charleston.
It looks good.
Jumping from 11 to 7 because it finally went into wide release this week is the walk.
$3.7 million dollars 2 weeks 6.4 million dollars.
That's only a $35 million dollar budget, sir.
Really?
Wow.
Wow.
That memo is amazing.
I think this is a mech is probably called some favors.
Can we keep just playing on a little bunch of play?
So there's that.
Also, dropping from 5 to 6 this week is a maze runner.
One of the scorched trials, $5.3 million dollars, four weeks, $70.6 million dollars
on a $61 million budget.
So they cleared it.
Because I didn't see a whole lot of promotion for this.
I didn't see any.
I mean, there was a commercial here in there.
Dropping from the bronze medal to fifth place this week is Sicario.
$7.4 million dollars, four weeks, $26.7 million dollars on a $30 million budget.
I'm kind of funny.
It's getting a lot of buzz.
It's Benicio Del Toro.
It's a boy.
Yeah.
The board of things.
I'm on a fence here.
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
There's actually talks of a sequel just based on Benicio's character.
I've heard.
Staying in fourth place this week is the intern.
$8.6 million dollars, three weeks, $49.6 million dollars.
It's cleared budget.
Day viewing in the bronze medal this week.
Pan.
Hmm.
15.5 million dollars.
Oh, not good.
It's at 10% of its budget.
Hmm.
I'd say I have no desire to see this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They just didn't do that.
One and two stay the same.
Silver medal Hotel Transylvania 2.
Another $20.3 million dollars.
Three weeks, $116.2 million dollars.
That's the season.
I love this movie.
It's absolutely loved this movie.
It makes me want to go back and watch the first one because I haven't seen the first one.
And I think you'll like that one more.
I'm going to have to take my daughter to it.
Dude, you're really going to like it.
It's a lot of fun.
And it is a perfect father daughter movie.
It really is.
And that comes from him.
So.
And winning the week again, second week in a row, the Martian.
Another $37 million dollars.
Two weeks, $108.7 million dollars.
It has officially reached its budget.
I cannot wait to see that movie.
It's good.
It's good.
I'm willing to say it.
I haven't had time.
I know the feeling, brother.
So I'm looking forward to my four days off this week.
Nice.
Alright, so.
The Flash movie has a director.
And he is the writer of the Lego Batman movie.
He is Seth Graham Smith.
I'm hoping I say that right.
I'm reserving judgment.
So I don't think you're going to get either one of us coming.
So.
No.
And news.
All right, let's go to make at least one person in this studio.
Happy.
George Miller says two more Mad Max movies are coming.
Hey, man, brother.
I still haven't seen Fury Rhodes like any other.
Interesting news coming out of Marvel this week.
F Gary Gray.
Didn't he direct straight out of Compton?
Yes, he did.
He's in a huge demand right now.
Yes, I saw that.
Marvel wants him for Black Panther.
Universal wants him for Furious 8.
Which one are you going to jump on?
Yeah, I think they lost twice on Sundays because let's face it.
The Furious franchise is kind of winding down for their contract.
You're through 12 but.
Well, I'm just well.
Yeah, it doesn't mean I'm going to make 12.
Yeah.
It welses Vin Diesel doing really.
The next which Hunter or whatever.
Last which Hunter.
You know what?
I'm mildly intrigued by that.
I'm looking forward to seeing it just to see with all the bit.
I think he could build a franchise around that if this goes out.
They're already saying they're building a franchise around.
Oh, well, then there you go.
Have you been on Vin Diesel's Facebook page?
Oh, he's hilarious.
He loves himself.
Yes.
Yes, he loves himself.
What he sings?
It's hilarious.
Yes.
But the script for Black Panther is going to be written by a Joe Robert Cole who wrote a movie called Amber Lake.
And it has been moved up to February 16th, 2018 because it is going to make room
room.
From its original date of July 8th, for Ant-Man in the Wasp.
All over this one.
If you haven't seen Ant-Man, this is a sub-day doesn't see this all the way.
Dad, come in.
I was going to say it, too.
There hold on.
Well, you're still going to hear me talking, dude.
They'll look at that.
The spoiler alert in three, two, don't cover the one.
Look at that suit, dude.
I can't wait to see that work at her.
Yes.
I can't wait to see that.
Awesome.
Fortune magazine.
If you haven't seen this.
If you go to Fortune's website, they have an interview with Lex Luther.
Yeah.
I saw they were like, you know, a lot of really clever cross-promote.
Yes.
They didn't have a, where he kind of explains who he is.
And I was like, well played for him.
Because if it's one thing that we know DC does really well, it's viral marketing.
Yeah.
They really have got the corner on that.
Justice League.
There's a new film that is being produced by Guillermo's
Arturo that may film next year called Justice League Dark.
This may be time-wise, maybe a little off because you're talking about a team with like
John Constantine, the specter, Swamp thing, and Zeptana, and others.
I'm cool with it.
You have my attention.
I just don't know how well this is going to go right now.
You may need to wait a bit on this.
This is a cartoon, right?
They are not saying for sure either way.
Oh.
Speaking of cartoons, I read today.
Expect the killing joke to be rated R.
Yeah.
I saw this the other day too.
Really good.
Do it.
Because I think I think what DC was waiting for was to see how dead pull was going to be accepted.
Once they announced the R rating.
And it went so well, they're like, okay, we can do this now.
Because the subject matter in killing jokers, you can't whitewash that.
I really can't.
I agree.
It's unavoidable.
It is absolutely unavoidable.
You, you have to address it.
If you're going to do killing jokers, you have to go dark.
You have to really, really go to a very dark place.
Have you ever read it, Dave?
No, I haven't.
I owned it.
But I've never read it.
Wow.
That's really good.
And the reason why I owned it was that it came with two action figures.
And the comic book was right behind you.
Oh, nice.
In order to get to it, you had to open the package in.
Well.
There's that.
Naomi Scott will be the pink Ranger for the Power Rangers film reboot.
What do we know her from?
Um, I did actually write that down along.
But why?
I still understand why we're not pursuing the guy that did that fan film last year.
That was awesome.
That was amazing.
Because that, you know.
You got James Vanderbeacon.
Oh, she was in, uh, she was in the Martian.
That's right.
I don't know who she played.
Because I didn't actually play.
She played.
Rioco.
Whoever.
Was that like the, she, I think she was the daughter of the Japanese.
Yeah.
She's British.
I said she didn't exactly look like the part.
But Power Rangers film set for January 13th, 2017.
Also, we got some big, big, big announced this release announced this from Disney.
The Pixar this week.
Cars three June 16th, 2017.
Was when that's going to happen.
Yeah.
Cocoa, which was their big secret project.
They finally unveiled November 22nd of 2017.
Toy Story 4 June 15th, 2018.
Yeah.
I got bumped.
I can't wait.
Captain Marvel moves up to March 8th of 2019.
Incredibles 2 June 21st, 2019.
That's how.
Wow.
But see, ever since DC did their slate through 2020.
Everybody else has been doing the same thing.
And I'm like.
I think you can do that with Marvel and DC.
I don't.
I don't think you can do that with Disney movies.
Well, Pixar, I mean, they can budget how I'm going to take it.
Especially from an animation standpoint.
They can figure it's going to take us this long to do it.
Also, for interest for you, surfant Asia returning to theaters for its 75th anniversary
next month.
Really?
Locally November the 8th, I believe, at the Alamo, it will be simultaneous with a live performance
from the Philadelphia Orchestra.
That's awesome.
And it's only going to be limited and it's not going to play for very long in any one
place.
But I believe it's going to be locally here at the Alamo on November the 8th.
You may want to look that up.
I wish they would do like another update.
I wish they would do another Fantasia, like they did for 2000.
John Voitte and Ron Perlman have joined Fantastic Beasts and we're to find them.
This was the follow up title after JK Rowling stopped writing Harry Potter stuff.
Perlman's like everywhere.
Yeah.
I don't know.
He's a great, he's a great human being.
Don't know how I feel about this.
Will Smith says bad boys three will be here within the next 12 to 16 months.
To movie where we kill off Martin.
I thought you'd just kill off the memory of that new Will Smith song.
I'd be even better.
I have not even heard that.
We talked about it on last week's show.
He's got he's doing a verse on this Miami bands track.
And I'm not kidging out.
Here's the first line.
Ready?
Senior Rita.
Go get me a beer.
Am I lying sir?
It couldn't have been surveyed.
Could have been Margarita where it actually would have
Ryan.
We've stopped trying to ride.
No.
Ellen Page is in talks for a flat liners remake.
Do we need to remake this?
No.
But would you take this remake?
Over a puppy on remake is apparently that's happening too.
And that was the first McQueen film I ever saw.
And I watched it when it was on cable.
I watched that movie constantly.
And I don't know why.
Here I am like 12, 11, 12 years old watching a movie about Steve McQueen
trying to get off the French Guy on a prison island.
We're going to remake it.
And I'm sure they're going to make it full of slow motion
explosions and all kinds of ridiculous crap.
And I really don't know how to take this next story.
Daniel Craig doesn't interview this week.
Oh boy.
Where he says he's overplaying James Bond.
He would only do it again for the money.
And it makes him want to vomit when he thinks about it.
He says he rather slit his wrists than do another Bond film.
I had heard that but I'd also heard that he really can't take that.
I've got to think this is a bit.
Because if you're if you're Daniel Craig first of all,
how does that layer kick money working out for you?
Secondly, you're one away from Bond 25.
How do you not want to be that guy?
I don't know.
Unless, unless my fears for Spectre are bounded.
That's my only thing.
What fear is that?
I worried that this is going to be more like quantum of solace than this would be like skyfall.
And I liked quantum of solace.
I like it.
But I can see why people peed all over it.
Because it had to follow Casino Royale.
Number one and number two, there was a lot of plot exposition in that.
That people aren't used to from their bond films.
Where people don't understand that this is a more cerebral bond.
Then we're used to seeing through their writing him.
And I think a lot of people just want that slam bang action all the time.
Where they're kind of like, oh no, let's slow down. Let's talk about who this guy is.
Right, yeah.
So, because it holds up better once you go back and rewatch it.
And it really does.
It does hold up better than our love.
We think about the public reaction when they revealed the title.
Everybody's like, huh?
Oh, man.
You know, I just, I really hope that this was a bit.
Because I like him.
Did it, did they not like the title?
A lot of people didn't even know what it meant.
What's a sawless?
I know they caught us.
The new theme song.
I can't say that I hate the new theme song.
I'm like it.
Because we played it on the show a couple of weeks ago.
And I, and I've said this publicly.
My only thing about the theme song is I need to see it in the context of the film.
Agreed.
And I think that's where the sticking point comes.
It's just not, it's not a hit.
It's not a hit by any stretch of the imagination.
It's just dull.
It was like the fun thing.
The first time you heard Skyfall, you win.
I want to listen to this a thousand times a day.
I don't care about the movie.
I did.
With this one, it's more like, it's, it just never goes anywhere.
It doesn't have that big crescendo that you're used to from bond themes.
You look at something like golden eye or live and let die.
There's that moment of impact that's not in this.
And I think that may have to do with the, with the tone of the film.
So I need to see it in context.
That's why I'm reserving judging.
Because we're only like, but four weeks away.
Yeah.
That's early in November too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was expecting it like two weeks later.
Like right before Thanksgiving.
No, it's usually right around between a second and a seven.
No, is it?
Okay.
There we go.
Let's see where am I.
Expendable's four is coming.
You ready for that?
I enjoyed the other three.
Yeah.
We're going to be in China for a 2017 release.
DJ Carruso, who was the director of dysturbia and eagle eye,
are going to do triple X three with Vin Diesel, of course.
And Bruce Campbell says today he will be appearing in mall rats too.
Wow.
Okay.
I'm in.
You know him in.
Yeah.
And that begins filming in January.
Kevin said on Babylon a couple of weeks ago.
They found them all.
They're going to use.
And they're ready.
I think they're going to let them blow up the multi.
Yeah.
They find them all going to blow up.
So cool.
So.
All right.
Moving new releases in places you see.
Moving new releases this week.
Because I need to take a taste of my tasty beverage.
Come in.
Goose bumps.
With the Jack Black is in this.
We're basically the story of this is he is a curator of the goose bumps books.
And by opening the books, the books come to life.
And a bunch of the books come to life.
And they have to go get them trapped back in the books.
So it's basically a horror version of jumanji.
It's kind of a jumanji.
Yeah.
I'm interested.
Especially since they're doing it in 3D.
I know my kids are interested.
And a lot of people that are between, you know, like the generation behind us.
Remember goose bumps is a big thing for them in the night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just can't remember who wrote the books.
RL Stein.
Well played sir.
Also, movie that I think you're fairly interested in.
Crimson peak.
Yeah.
Is this week?
Anything with anything with Guillermo del Toro's name attached to it.
I'm interested in.
And this is, this is in your wheelhouse.
Not mine.
You know how I'm about horror films.
I'm like, I'm just glossing over.
I'm talking about what this is.
And the aftermath of a family tragedy and aspiring author is torn between the love for
her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider.
Trying to escape the ghosts of her past.
She has swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds, and remembers this trailer.
Yeah.
It looks terrifying.
Also, this week, metal land.
This stars Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple, Elizabeth Moss.
Let's see.
Luke Wilson's in this John Leguizamo.
Oh, Mark.
Mark Firestein.
I think I'll tell you say his name.
He's from Royal Pains.
In the hazy aftermath of an unimaginable loss.
And Phil comes on hinge recklessly ignoring the repercussions.
Phil starts to lose sight of his morals.
Sarah takes off on a potentially disastrous journey following deeper into her own fever
dream.
So it's the feel good movie.
Bridge of spies with Tom Hanks directed by Steven Spielberg is this week.
So in on that looks so good.
Two and a half hours long kids.
I think it needs to be.
It's Spielberg.
It's Hanks.
You pretty much know that going in.
It's a piece of no nation, which is a Netflix film.
This is, I mean, Netflix is getting into this.
A drama basis on the experiences of August, child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed
African country.
There's actually a morning screening of this.
It's a morally only day I look at the week.
It's a terrible story of my life.
Also, wood lawn is released this week.
This is the part of the year you're going to start hearing a lot of films that you've never heard of.
Just because a lot of them are trying to get into Oscar contention.
This is actually the story of a gifted high school football player who must learn to embrace
his talent and his faith as he battles racial tensions on and off the field.
You want to guess where this takes place in Texas?
I believe that the university of I'm not mistaken.
I remember that's a different movie.
I know there's one coming up.
Oh, so it's a white guy now.
Oh, no, it's not yet.
It's not this one.
It's a different movie because that's got John Ham.
But this has Sean Astin.
See Thomas Howell.
John Voite.
Oh, Sherry Shepherd.
Sean has John Astin.
It's a college football movie.
It's really hoping to get that past you.
New.
Also experimenter.
Have you seen the trailer for this?
No, but this sounds creepy.
It's based on a true story.
Do you remember the experiments from back in the 60s where they had people sit at a board?
And they had headphones on.
And if they got a question wrong, the person that's in front of the board had to flip a switch.
That would administer a shock to the people whose voices they were hearing.
I saw this in Ghostbuss.
I'm about to say.
No, but this this spoiler alert in three two don't say the one.
There was no person in the other room.
There was no one being shocked, but it was based.
The experiment was to find out how far people were really being to go when they were told to do things.
Okay.
This is the story of that.
It's called the Millgram experiment.
It was called.
1961.
This has went on a ride.
Terran Manning, Peter SARS-Guard,
Lori Singer, Anton Yelchen, John Legwezamo,
Kellyn Lutz, Anthony Edwards, Dennis Hayes,
Bear, Jim Gaffigan, Bondi Curtis Hall.
Anthony Edwards, I haven't heard his name in ages.
It's one of those films that.
I've actually, I know about this experiment because we studied it in a couple of classes I've taken in my current position.
And we're going to my current company.
Right.
It's, it looks creepy, but it looks interesting.
DVD and blue right new releases in places you get DVD and blue right new releases this week.
By the way, happy late birthday to you, sir.
Thank you, my friend.
Yes, birthday was this past Wednesday.
And the reason I say that right now is because later this week,
you will have delivered to your personal person.
A copy of the first release that we're going to talk about in this particular segment.
As the diamond edition of Aladdin, it's blue right in DVD this week.
Thank you, sir.
That's what you are getting for your birthday.
Thank you, my friend.
I'll be really bummed to know that that was coming.
I was like, I can't get it.
Also, a tomorrow land.
Great.
This week really enjoyed.
That movie was great.
Really enjoyed that.
San Andreas, with the rock, which I saw the commercial and it said,
high intense special features.
Did anybody see this movie?
I did.
I did things.
It's typical.
I did.
I did.
It's, don't expect Chandler's listening.
It's predictable.
It's not bad.
It's not, not a bad movie at all.
It's just, I laughed all the way through Chandler's list.
Stop it.
You're going.
That's too.
Hell, man.
Basket.
Dope releases this week.
We watched that a couple of months ago.
It definitely was not what we thought it was going to be.
No.
That's not a strike against it.
It's just not what we were thinking about.
The gallows that horror film that was out a couple of weeks ago.
That releases on DVD this week.
Isn't that the one that takes place in the high school?
I think so.
Were they saw that?
They see the video and they all freak out.
God, that could be.
20 years after a horrific accident during a small town school play,
students at the school resurrect the failed show and a misguided attempt to honor
the anniversary of the tragedy.
The die hard collection that comes in the model of the Nakatomi Plaza.
Have you seen this?
Yes, I have.
I want that so bad.
That is this week.
Also the 25th anniversary ultimate collector's edition of Edward Scissor Hands.
Ooh.
This week.
One of your personal favorites.
I hope not.
I like my fingers.
The criteria in collection does the brood and a special day this week.
And this Tuesday.
WW is staying into the light.
The new documentary.
They're excited.
See, I bet you're not interested in that at all.
Oh, a little bit.
Any tech corner stuff that we need to talk about?
I'm kind of out of the loop.
I didn't see anything on Xbox Gold this month that made me go woo.
Yeah, that's one thing.
You probably ought to always ought to mention it at the beginning of the month.
Is it where I was getting some freebies?
Because I get the I get the email.
Nothing.
Nothing at all.
Nothing really did anything for me.
The Star Wars Battlefront beta is out and everybody's trying out.
It's a looks and tests.
I know that videos are already dropping of people like stopping Luke with an ass.
But this also reminds me.
Did you see that video that somebody posted of destiny?
The multiplayer.
Multiplayer.
Multiplayer.
Multiplayer.
Multiplayer.
Game by by Halo.
Alums.
Bungie.
Put out a video that they made of kind of like the red versus blue that they all were.
Always doing with Halo.
Right.
Where they take some of the multiplayer characters from Destiny and they make the back street
Boys everybody video.
Retreat.
And it is funny as all get out.
I watched it like on my birthday.
I was rolling.
I showed it to Jules and she was cracking up.
Speaking of Mark Hamill, he will be returning to the flash this season as the trickster.
Good.
I saw that yesterday.
So we're going to get Mark Hamill overload this year.
Anything else?
That's bad.
All right.
Means the street light is on.
We end every show with a list.
Chat.
It is your turn.
We go live to the other end of the desk.
I love how we go live to the other end of the desk.
We're all familiar with things that jump the shark.
We're all familiar with the turn.
As it was referenced on the CSI finale.
No kidding.
Yeah.
I'll find one.
Did you watch it and go, oh.
Yeah.
And you're a producer on that show.
Was I lying though?
Was that script just not thrown together?
Yeah.
It was a mess.
Did Lucas have anything to do with it?
Shh.
Oh my $20.
We're familiar with things like the mat and curse.
Here's a guy that gets on a cover of my game and goes injured.
Boom.
All right.
We also familiar.
I'm sure I'm sure you are with the sophomore slump.
Where you have a, you have a, a debut that's just really strong.
And then the follow-up just just goes nowhere.
No.
Mr. Mr. is a prime example.
No, no form is a, no form of entertainment is safe from this.
No.
Everything is fair game.
So I made a short list of every.
I'm street too.
Anyway.
I'll believe me.
There's the list alone of movies.
I'll, I'll, I'll read three season of the witch.
Well, that was a three though.
Let's just say.
We're just saying, too.
I, I try to do a list of TV,
music, video games and movies.
Okay.
Number 10.
I'll start with all as all one list.
All right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll start with TV.
Heroes.
Oh.
The most, one of the most heartbreaking examples of a, of a TV show gone wrong.
I can sum that up for your real easy.
When my wife will watch a comic book style television show,
that should tell you how great season one you've accomplished something.
And this thing totally turned us all against it.
So really quick.
You're like, you and I were constantly bandering back and forth.
Kill this thing.
Kill it.
Kill it with fire.
Because we were like, it's got to go somewhere, but it just never did.
Another one on the list that I will have to pretty much.
I have to turn over to you because this is all I was reading.
And I remember you were talking about it all during the season was this season's true detective.
That you could have a rock so it's season one.
And I mean, when I was doing research on this topic, this came up all over the place.
True detective popped up.
This season's true detective popped up everywhere.
I thought season one had a Scooby-Dewending.
The last three episodes of this, of this season sucked.
Just a colossal mess.
Part of the, somebody that I read recently that was offered to direct it,
said no because the scripts were so wow.
I read that this.
And my last example of TV may come as a surprise to you,
but because we never really talked about when this show caught a bullet to the brain pan.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
See, I disagree.
The season two of Sarah Connor Chronicles became incredibly uninteresting because of who they chose as a villain.
And I'm not talking about Shirley Manson.
I'm talking about the other Terminator.
He was just, the one that didn't know what he was.
It got really, really jumped the sharky for me.
As much as I loved the first season of that show.
And I tried to love the second.
I'm like, I kind of see why they, I was on board the whole time.
I was on board the whole time.
Just, just his character was just so uninteresting.
What does he, I can't ever remember his name.
We're Shirley Manson was always trying to tell him what his name was.
And he had no idea, no self awareness at all.
I just dumb for music.
One of the saddest examples for me because his debut album was so incredible.
And it was one of those pinnacles of 1987 that stuck with the All-Through High School.
Was Terrence Trent Darby's neither fish nor soul boy.
Not getting to debate that Sarah.
That was, and apparently he recorded part of this in a castle that he rented from the success of his debut album.
He was like a band, it's still in time.
It was, it was, it was an, it was an exercise in frustration in boredom.
Sorry.
I understand why he changed his name.
And he, he will not, he will not enter to Terrence Trent Darby anymore.
It's that Sananda, a tray you think.
That's all he will go by.
So is the vampire now?
It sounds like it.
The other two examples I've got in, in music are hip-hop related.
Because I think at that point, what they had done had exploded so big.
And then the second one was just like, what?
This is what you got.
What?
What?
Was puffed at ease forever.
Peep, puffed at ease.
And Snoop Dogg's a dog.
And Snoop Dogg's a dog father.
I knew you were going to go there.
Snoopy dog dog.
As much as I think he's had good stuff here and there.
He hasn't had a complete album like Doggy Style West.
Right.
No.
And Peep of Diddy Daddy just throws everybody else on his albums anyway.
So it was really matter.
And one that I was, that I kept seeing on lists.
And I was afraid to put it on here because I was figured you'd blow a gasket.
And I was, and I'm not saying I feel this way.
A lot of people were putting fair weather Johnson on on soft sports.
The thing about fair weather Johnson, when you sell 15 million copies of an album,
there is no way that your follow-ups going to come anywhere near it.
And that's what a lot of people have.
Garth Brooks says the words in 1995.
If hoodie doesn't win this award over me, I will give it to them.
There's no way you're going to fair, fair weather is a good album.
It's a very good album.
It's very underrated.
But I wouldn't, I wouldn't, the other reason I would call it a sophomore slump.
It's just kind of like saying, I built this mansion.
But then I moved into a two bedroom and apartment.
And that's just as good.
There's no way it would, they could have made the white album.
And it wouldn't have measured up to craft review.
Like, would it almost have been the same if you were compared?
If you're just going on album sales, like say thriller was Michael's debut
and bad was his follow-up.
As good as that album did, it still didn't sell nearly as many copies of thriller.
Because nothing ever will.
But people would have seen that as a slump.
Yeah, just on sales figures alone.
And that's why a lot of these albums were making leases.
Like, like, noses follow-up album.
Maces follow-up album.
We're all in on this list.
Spin doctors follow-up album.
Made the list.
Spin doctors I get.
Because pocket full of kryptonite was strong.
Yeah.
Turn it upside down had like two good songs on.
Living colors follow-up album after vivid.
Yeah.
Made the list.
Of, of, of, of, of.
But there honestly, vivid as a whole.
Not as strong as a lot of people think.
But it had, but it sold like crazy.
If, if or no, the reason called the personality was just all over.
It was called the personality and glamour boys you had.
Open letter to a landlord.
Outside of that.
Very pedestrian.
It really was.
Games.
And these are all.
They're only, I only take two because I didn't want to just over overloaded with games.
And these are all games that we're all familiar with in this room.
Because they're all from the eight bit era.
Okay.
Zelda to adventures of Link.
Agreed.
Was such a disappointment.
But again, Zelda did so like.
People like with nuts.
Not so nuts over Zelda that you couldn't have followed it up with anything that was that would have measured up.
If they would have.
The biggest problem that Zelda to ran into was they changed how the game was played.
Because they, they took it from that because they went back to their format from the original Zelda on the third one on the super Nintendo Link to the past.
And it was arguably the best Zelda game ever made.
Yeah.
Uh, the problem with Zelda to was it was a side scroller.
They were trying to get on to that Mario scene where Mario being the side scroller.
They were trying to make it Castlevania.
It's kind of what I got from it as well.
That's true.
And Castlevania to make this list because they changed the way the game was.
No.
I loved Castlevania too.
I'm not saying I, I wrote it down.
I'm like, I really don't agree with that because.
That's your list.
So what?
To be it.
I was, I was going through things and eliminating them.
I'm like, I don't remember being that bad.
But one that will surprise you though is super Mario Brothers too.
Because they had to go back in completely.
No, no, no, no.
Hear me out now.
Hear me out.
The original Super Mario Brothers 2 was what was released as the lost levels later in the US.
Because Super Mario Brothers 2 was basically the exact same game with harder maps as the original Super Mario.
And it was so difficult in Japan that they did a completely different game.
And it wasn't even a Mario game.
It was another game that they just kind of slapped a Mario code of paint on.
I guess maybe mentally I'm blocking that because I just go straight to Super Mario 3.
Yeah.
Most people do.
Mario 3 was like the best selling game in history for years and years and years.
Helped by a film.
Mario 2 was the step two.
It was.
It was the gateway.
And it just, it couldn't live up to Mario because they tried it.
And it was just way too hard.
It's not me.
Movies.
This was a hard, hard.
And they're just too on here.
Okay.
The follow-ups to the matrix was was about the the biggest ultimate gut punch of anything I've ever set.
And we've talked about this.
Adnauseum.
How you and I didn't even watch the third one.
Yeah.
We came out on DVD because we've heard such horror stories.
And we were still put off by the second one.
I'm like.
I don't if if they're saying that this one is worse than two.
I don't even want to darken the door.
We don't see the problem.
Yeah.
Oh.
There it is.
And fantastic for moving on.
And I double-dogged there.
Anybody in this room to debate me on how so crushed you were about Highlander 2.
The quickening.
To know that everything that we thought we knew was a complete BS lie.
And there were aliens from some far off plan.
I was like, no.
I wanted to I wanted Michael Ironside down and punch him in the eye.
Because I felt like he was just chewing scenery left and right.
It was it was just it was just so off.
I remember when I went to the movie theater we had the big stand-up display for that film.
I looked at it.
I'm like.
I got a really bad.
I mean, I that.
The sequels to films and and prequel and prequel sequel.
Letdowns were going to be my original list.
I've got about 15.
I said I think either one of us had that kind of time.
I couldn't whittle it down.
So maybe that's a list of we can revisit for another time.
But I've got.
It would be a shorter list for you.
Prequels that worked.
Prequels I can't really think of many prequel.
That's a short list.
I mean, about the only one that I can immediately think of all the top of my head.
Star Wars is.
He's a funny man.
He's a funny man.
Was and a lot of people don't even realize or forget that this was a prequel.
Was Temple of Doom.
Temple of Doom is a prequel.
I did not know that.
Yes.
It takes place before Raiders.
Oh, I'm going to sit and watch her Indiana Jones tonight now.
I need to get those on Blu-ray.
They're great.
And believe me, an indie film made the list on the other list I had.
And probably sometime this week since I've got so much time off.
Given what next week is going to be.
We should probably sit down and watch the back of the future trilogy.
I just did.
I just did about about two weeks ago.
I would do it again.
I wanted invite to that.
Just come over.
Okay.
Okay.
Probably.
Well, you want plans now?
No, I'll figure it out.
Okay.
And I do want to put one more honorable mention on this list just because it's my list.
Is your list?
And I know you're going to give me flag on this because you always do every time I mention this film.
You attack my franchise.
I'm going to get you.
What franchise do you think I'm attacking?
No.
Although Lost World was a let down for me.
It was.
Uh.
I did get a bridge.
I see.
I said, I said, I did get on to you.
But I just didn't feel that graffiti bridge was the cinematic turned that everybody else said it was.
I thought it was okay.
When you, when you counted as the sequel to purple rain though because that's what it was.
That's a pretty big let down.
I don't know.
It didn't, it didn't bother me.
It just didn't.
I, I saw that film in the Navy.
And I saw the seven seas.
Yes.
And I walked out of the theater.
I just saw the look of disgust on everybody's face, including mine going, yeah, that could
have gone bad.
I can't think of anything on the top of my head that you have, I mean, if you want to talk
about music, Wilson Phillips, shadows and light had one or two good songs on it, the
other things I can remember because of that album was, if you saw the video for the first
thing off that album and they were shy, we say, scantily, you're like, that's, that's
not something I ever want to see or think about.
Charna Phillips, yeah, I'm talking about, you know who I'm, you know what I'm talking about.
I don't want to, I don't want to completely get right here on the teeth, but I think really
off the top of my head, that's the only one I can think of.
You could argue matchbox 20 because yourself or someone like you, again, you had to follow
that, which was going to be tough to do, because that album had a hit after hit after
hit after hit.
I've actually still got the list of Weasers, follow up album, a lot of people, I don't
go deep enough into their catalogue to care.
Yeah, I would.
They were just here at night before last one hit wonder for me.
Weasers was?
They had a good string.
Like I said, they played the big reunion thing.
I actually loved Weasers, I just had fair enough, fair enough.
Like the strokes is on here, but I don't know anything about the strokes.
I only don't like one song, but there's, there's Mace double up, and the aforementioned
meatloaf's dead ringer makes the list.
I forgot that that was the follow up, or he did bad out of two back in the hell, is that
brought us?
I would do anything, but it's sold over 40 million copies like that too.
Radio crushed that song, but see what kills me about that song is I was like, what would
he do?
He never says it.
He says at the end, when she says sooner or later, you'll be running around.
I won't do that.
I won't do that.
Listen to the song.
People.
Yeah.
Song's great.
They grow on that video, smoking hot, I'm just going to say it.
And she's not the chick singing.
No.
He rarely does that in his videos, so he's got to do what going on.
I will tell you the only time my father ever stopped on either VH1 or MTV was when Paradise
by the dashboard light was playing, and that video of him mugging it out with that chick.
I remember when we first got cable installed at our house as a kid, the cable installed
or put an on MTV and the whole time he was installing it, dead ring or was playing on
MTV.
I couldn't see it.
Thank God.
But I could hear it.
What did it do?
It was share.
Well, neither confirmed it.
But it's trying to block it out.
But when he finally got the picture focused and everything snapped into place, thriller
was the first video I saw.
Lovely.
My champagne bottle crashing on the whole of the boat for MTV for me.
Not a bad way to start off.
But that's my list.
All right.
