Welcome.
My name is Robin.
I love that autumn arrived about a week in a day early.
Maybe a couple of days.
Very beautiful weekend here in the Metroplex area.
Sunpoke through the clouds today.
Keep it in the low 80s.
Very beautiful day.
Joining me across the desk as he tends to do is a man who is responsible for the current
earworm running through my brain.
He also is the producer of this show.
He is chat and welcome sir.
I was telling my wife and my kid yesterday.
This feels like perfect state fair weather.
Yesterday when it was a great day.
Beautiful day.
It made it the grave of a corny dog in the worst.
I've been on the road notes of the weekend.
Yeah, you drove out to the ballpark yesterday.
Did some prison ministry today driving down the Gatesville
Texas.
Had a great time down there.
Got home about an hour ago.
Luckily I had the run sheet written and the playlist ready to go.
Because otherwise we didn't.
Having some happiness.
So let us get into this thing.
Get right into the deep end of the pull with corrections.
I think everything we had corrections for last week during the show was corrected during the show.
Wanna think he's in Kelly for stopping by.
Don was here with us as well.
Had a great show last week.
That was good time.
And that show spawned off a very special guest.
We're going to have on this week's show here in just a little while.
We're going to package that because we don't want to give it away just yet.
But I'm going to be some good discussion coming up here in just a little while.
Let us go ahead and get Rowan and start with a little bit of an ass car.
See what you did there.
Oh yeah, I didn't even need to do that.
All right.
The chase is on.
The chase officially starts today.
The chase for the cup.
Actually got some of the rules kind of screwed up.
But Phil kind of sent me straight yesterday.
So I want to kind of update you on how this works now.
We thought what's going on was it would be eliminating people every week.
Not how it works.
You have 16 drivers in the chase right now.
Right now we are in what's called the qualifying rounds.
This week and the next two races.
So whoever the bottom four are after the race two weeks from today, they're eliminated.
Really?
So the top 12 are left.
But here's the thing.
When the next round starts, the points reset.
So you're constantly chasing.
There's nobody that can build a comfortable lead and ride the thing out.
So you'll have three more races.
Four more people get eliminated.
So you're down to eight.
Then the points reset.
Then you have four more races.
And then you eliminate four more.
And then the last four in the last race.
Whoever finishes highest wins the cup.
Well, I don't follow this sport.
I think it's kind of cool though.
I think it's kind of neat the way they're doing.
It's better than the way it's been for years and years.
Where you had to have an abacus in a scientific calculator.
Just a figure out who wins.
What have I always said?
When the race get a point and given who your target audience is,
you think they'd want to keep it as simple as him.
That is Chad at the clubhouse podcast.com for all hate mail.
But I think it was kind of cool.
So feel kind of kind of laid it out for me that way.
Yeah, sure.
We're at the baseball game.
So thank you.
Phil Mar for making me understand a little bit better.
How the new chase points standing is work.
Speaking of which, let's go to today's race.
The MyAfibStory.com 400.
What?
We talked about this one.
Oh, Matt. Okay.
MyAfib story.
So people that had had some cardio problems in the courtable
Fibilators helped him out.
Geez.
Your top 10 finishes are as follows.
10th place.
And the number 20 Toyota started in the fifth.
It finished in 10 for Matt Tenzef.
And the number one Chevrolet in 9th place.
Jamie McMurray started in 11 finished 9.
Starting in 14 finishing in 8th.
Number 41 Kurt Boosh.
His brother Kyle Boosh.
Started in the pole position wound up in 7th in the number 18 Toyota.
Denny Hamman of the number 11 Toyota.
Starts 24th finishes 6th.
And no, he was not on LA law.
In fifth place.
Starting in 12th.
Number 4 Kevin Havick.
And his Chevrolet.
And the number 22 Ford starts 28 finishes 4th.
Kyle Larson.
Attorney at law.
Starts in 28 finishes in 4th.
And the number 22 Ford.
Bronze medal goes to that was Kyle Larson.
Silver medal goes to Jeff Gordon.
The rainbow warrior starts in 8th and finishes in second.
And winning the race.
Starting in 25th position.
And winning the race.
Your favorite driver.
Brad Keselowski in the number 2 Ford.
So he now takes the lead in the chase.
He's now assured himself a spot in the next round.
So it kind of works the same way.
It's worked.
If you win a race.
You're automatically in the next round.
And then they just ranked points from there.
Okay.
Because remember the bottom 4 get eliminated to after the race 2 each in today.
Right.
Okay.
So that's how that's going to work.
To remind you who is in the chase.
We have number 34 Chevrolet Ryan.
Newman Greg Biffle.
Know my parents did not invent the game with the bat in the plastic ball.
In the number 15 Ford.
And the number 20 Toyota Matt Kenseth.
AJ Almondinger.
Eric Almerola.
Casey Kane Kurt Bush.
Denny Hamlin.
Kyle Bush.
Carl Edwards.
Kevin Harvick.
Joey Lagano.
Jimmy Johnson.
Dale.
You're Jeff Gordon.
Brad Kezelowski.
So the first round will be today.
It should coddle in.
And next week in Dove.
New Hampshire.
And then the week after that in Dover.
And then from there we go to the contender 12.
The eliminator eight.
See what they did there.
Even though it should be the only or three.
It was the eliminator.
But junior's eight.
And then the championship four.
And that's one race.
That's in homestead.
So that last race.
The four challengers.
That's it.
Whoever finishes best wins.
That just confuses the credit.
I think it's I think it's going to be good for their ratings because you're not going
to have somebody that can mail it in and finish 27th and still win the cup.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
So next week.
And I think we've missed out on a huge opportunity with this race.
It do hamster next week.
The Sylvania 300.
But it's racing at 2 o'clock Eastern.
Why wouldn't she make this a night race?
Geez.
The logic is sound.
No.
I mean, next week to a clock Eastern on the Espin from the new hamster motor speed.
Why hardly have located in Delaware.
I don't understand what.
No, I'm kidding.
But that'll be next Sunday.
We will be.
Need deep in WWE.
And we have Sunday.
So the next time we talk about NASCAR.
Four people are going to be out of the chase.
By the time we go on air.
Two weeks from today.
I just like this song.
Thanks for going to Bob.
You had a little bit.
Actually came across your iPod the other day.
Well, we were driving.

Charlotte Parker is on Pinterest because we are morally obligated to say that.
And Jill's one Mac probably can prepare to watch a movie or two I'm thinking.
You would know better than I said.
We are preparing to go grocery shopping.
Oh, that's right.
My wife hates when I go grocery shopping with her because I'm such an impulse buyer.
She's like stay focused on my book.
Stuff that we can buy.
And she's like, no.
We are your one-stop shop for all-pink sports and entertainment.
So let's flip the coin and talk a little TV.
Let's do it like this.
I'm here to help.
So I read this story the other day.
I'm a little weirded out, I guess.
We have the Girl Meets World update, which is from Boy Meets World in the 90s.
Apparently, somebody is shopping around a married with children update,
featuring on Bud Bundy and where he has gone.
Do we need this?
Why not?
Why?
I understand David Foster probably not going on.
I guess he was a rapper on that show.
Oh, God.
I couldn't do it.
Rap master B or something.
And Kelly could never say it right.
She was always like bed wetter B or something like it's ill.
No, she could say it, right?
She just chose.
She chose not to.
It's a fair point.
We love the Christina Applegate.
But I mean, he's the only one that's not getting steady work.
I mean, because yeah, because pegs on sons of Anne Arquie.
I don't nails on modern family.
But what's Christina Applegate doing?
She's all over the place.
I mean, she's.
I know she's been showing up on the.
Judge judges panelist.
So you think you can dance every season.
And I thought she had a steady gig other than that.
She had that really short lived show or some some girl who.
Remember because she had she had like a sort of memory loss or something.
Yeah.
And then she didn't she get like a press cancer diagnosis and she should be.
Yeah.
We love the Christina Applegate.
No, nothing but love for her.
Amen.
I don't know.
I mean, we talk about how we just get so sick of remakes and reboots.
Oh, but I mean, is this necessarily a remake or a reboot?
It's more like a sequel.
Well, you know, there's if you remember here's your trivia question.
There was already a spin-off from that show.
Do you remember what it was?
From married with children?
I guess not.
It was called top of the heat.
It was about a father's son, a garbage man team who were introduced on the show for a couple of episodes.
The son was Kelly's boyfriend there for a minute.
And you might remember him as a young man named Matt LeBlanc.
Oh, dear God.
Very early in his career.
I'm going to take this phone call, sir.
Give me some more thoughts on this.
Well, I mean, we've seen worse things.
We've seen worse things come up.
But I don't know.
I wouldn't mind seeing it as long as they can get everybody that was involved.
Originally at some point to maybe make a at least a cameo.
I know they can't be regulars because they all have their own irons in the fire.
But do we need?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm not saying we need it.
But, you know, I do want to at least give it a shot.
Because there and I was a relatively decent fan of the earth of the earth.
Well, that's was odd.
That's why I'm saying don't ruin my memories with this.
Well, I mean, we gave Arsenio a shot.
So, okay.
That we did.
And they're still showing they're burning off reruns of that still.
I was I was clicking through the guide last week.
And I saw Arsenio I'm like, I thought this was gone.
But info and it was a, it was an episode from like, May.
And I was like, I can't.
So I guess there's that.
Our special guest is joining us on the telephone if I wired this correctly.
Allow me to hit the button.
Can you hear me?
Okay.
We've got you loud and clear my friend.
That's on the phone right now is Nick Gibbons.
A guide that I met via a Google Hangout yesterday.
But he was listening in our show last week.
Good friends with Kelly and Keith that were on.
But he gets to come on for his own reasons.
Yeah.
And let me, let me turn the music down so we can make sure that we can hear him as loud
and clear as we possibly can.
Nick, you can't tell me it was as beautiful today as it was yesterday out there in the Atlanta area.
It was pretty gorgeous today.
It was overcast.
But it wasn't a million degrees outside for that.
Is it my change?
I think you got our overcast because we actually had this sun actually came out for a little while
today and warmed us a little bit but not too bad.
Welcome to the show sir.
You're fine.
It's good to be.
It's good to be on the show.
I listened to this show last week.
It was nice for everyone's version.
Listen.
You got to love this sound.
You guys are great job.
Thank you so much.
Thank you so much.
Yeah.
So let's talk about the specific reason that you've called in to talk to us.
We talked about this a little bit yesterday.
You are looking to produce a show out there in Atlanta.
Tell us about it please.
I am trying to do this show.
I'm kind of waiting for it to be a big start to produce a show of mine that I've written
with a thick on pilot called Doug Allen.
It's a sitcom about a plane now.
When they live a small little picture town and I know I'm going to do our facts from that.
I'm so excited for the version.
You know I'm going to do a show in Atlanta about that because I'm going to do our facts in my picture.
Hey, we'll take the pub anyway.
We can get it.
Are you kidding me?
Yeah.
I think that's how they did zombie.
So you know, don't feel too bad.
That is a good point.
I mean the opening scene from zombie land was in Garland and they filmed it in L.A.
So we'll take it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm going to get taken much cut possible.
So we'll take some of you to share it about a family.
You run daily out.
You start daily out.
Big Leo does the dad.
And he's two sons.
That's very nice.
When he's falling down and he's gone on.
And it's very, very much in a vein like I said.
He's done himself.
Yeah.
I'm sort of pushing on.
I'm going to do a fast hour.
I'm going to do some characters.
It's awesome.
It's a little good for an hospital with children.
So it's just a time of kind of like the way that it's done in the way.
It gave a long time.
And he and King will go together with the dad and drop out of the time.
I'm going to ask you, then I'll be able to understand people.
And a little bit of this thing going on around the friends and written a share.
And I know we talked about this yesterday in the Google Hangout.
You know, you hesitated to use this comparison.
But I kind of liked when you told us it was kind of a new heart meets the ex files.
Kind of deal.
And I love that guy.
I love the way you put that yesterday.
Yeah.
Because we have a oldest son.
He's kind of the son.
He's kind of the new high-spin.
He's constantly the first generation by the.
And he has to somehow go up at the end of each episode.
And usually not very well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
I love you.
So let's talk a little bit about the concept here.
This is, you know, as the title says, it is about a bowling alley owned by a family.
Correct?
Yeah.
Yeah.
And the dark comes from their last name.
And so the oldest son who's been away on a sabbatical for a number of years comes home.
The family business may be struggling a little bit.
And he wants to help that kind of get on its feet.
Probably thinking maybe this is just a temporary thing.
And as he starts to see this could be a little bit more long term because there's things going on in the alley that
may be a, I wouldn't say nefarious, but just kind of weird.
A little bit strange.
Yeah.
And it's like the mob, you know, you kind of know what you think and pull back in.
And it's, yeah.
And it has tons of insane ideas for episodes and directors and directors to take the picture.
I don't know.
But the person who had a share with us, that's a secret episode and kind of the news.
It's not really a first episode.
It's more than the middle of the season.
So the characters are, you know, all these families in there.
You just drop by down in the middle of the same situation as that.
They'll realize there's still a twist in parents.
And I don't know if it's like that.
We're going on one.
We actually, you know, a blind side.
He's not something else.
He's going to be coming.
There's a place for anything.
Another direction.
It's intriguing to me.
And as a writer, I've found a lot for the viewers.
I think.
And one of the things we talked about, you've got to kickstarter up and running, which I believe runs through the 25th.
Correct?
Yeah.
20th.
And it's 10 days left.
And we're in the home stretch.
And I've been cold.
It's a thing to pick up from the hand.
And it's just looking at what I'm looking for.
Yeah.
And we had talked a little bit about yesterday about, um, you're looking for, for a lot of different avenues as far as where to aerate.
We had talked a little bit about Hulu or Netflix.
But, you know, the question I asked you was, if you had your brothers and you had your choice, where would it air?
Yeah.
And I'm listening.
I think that would be a great answer.
It really feels, I'm sort of using, you know, the template when it's going to be a great show.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We really don't have, I like to say, honestly, I haven't seen anything like this on air right now.
It is there.
Yeah.
Which sort of a sort of weird concept.
Well, and one of the comparisons we talked about a lot was, was how you compared it to it's always sunny and Philadelphia.
So let me ask you, is the intention to make it more of an ensemble piece where you'd have multiple storylines running from multiple different characters at the same time.
Are you trying to keep it more focused?
I definitely love, I love lots of shares with very strong more than one strongly.
So there's definitely, the main character is sort of trying to control the insanity, but it's definitely an ensemble path.
And everyone, everyone, I'm assuming to the end of that, it's a great, great combination of farmers from the upper, I think it's located.
And you try to learn others from just the amazing talent.
And you're all, you're all 100% more.
They seem to script and they love it.
That's what I used to do.
It's a sort of confidence that the farmers are, you know, going home and willing to jump in the fairy.
And they're going to be very.
All right, let's talk a little bit about you.
You kind of glossed over something.
And I think people need to know more about that from you.
It's not like you're coming into this thing called you've got skins on the wall.
I mentioned UCB the Upper-White Citizens Brigade, a lot of people know them from their show and the 90s and early odds are on comedy central, but you've got to spend some time there.
Yeah, I was, I lived in New York for about five years.
And I, I, I, I, I, I happened to that point out as a techer and all that back to.
And I was doing a weekly comedy, the live show.
It was not funny, it was that a lot of your business, my house.
There's a medical, a local celebrity there, there's a figure that's locked in there.
brought down running or defend them.
And it ended up looking up we could take the pass
that we're here, you can read them.
But really finding this edge edge edge crisis
that provides material.
The next thing is small, clean paint 때
there are big places sometimes.
It's pretty incredible, hoo.
He's a measure on ground around.
He's put at all over his club, on how intelligent
where the first transportation tax went,
but he is a neat to self-呆.
He's a very important employee,
he can activate there.
If you're going to factor through the guidance, it's great.
But we're going to share it again for about two or three years every week.
And you know, it's in a chance to rise something new.
It's tweaking and doing new characters.
And so what I'm looking for, you know, I didn't know anybody.
And I was like, how can I possibly keep doing this?
Do you want you to get the message?
There's no vaccination for it.
Indeed.
And so I thought, well, you're positive.
You don't have to be great.
There's all your other things around you.
So you can go ahead and check that out.
But I just want you to be as soon as I did.
I was there for every week.
And we mentioned the five weeks that I was in New York,
that I was performing.
Actually, I did it.
It was amazing.
It was such a big half there.
It's all the time.
It was a wonderful place.
And I was going to have to have a couple of two years in the real man
and then in our lives.
And he wouldn't know this.
He wouldn't know if she was there.
But basically how he wouldn't see the run button
after a first date right now.
There's a lot of demand in me show.
And you can come to see if you have the message about every show
up TV right now.
And that's a good thing.
That's a good thing.
There's a good thing.
There's some good stuff.
I trust there.
I trust there.
I trust there.
I don't think so.
And it actually also tell our audience
that you spend some time there that, you know,
that this is not a slouch thing.
This is a guy that's fully all in on what he wants to do.
I know that you'd said that if you get the kickstarter
taking care of, what's the goal right now for kickstarter?
I'm going to have 30,000.
Which is, you never put this to television to show you on the other side.
It's a very, a very low cost.
I'm very low budget.
But I'm hoping to get maybe,
you've got me somewhere to live in.
And I would be like, so,
you know, if I get this much at the end,
I wouldn't be letting it in there to that.
But hopefully, you think it's going to be a little bit more than that
and then I'll, you know, sort of some amount of money on the tire
and have a little bit of your budget.
So I've got a lot of great people at the world.
I hope that I don't spend that much.
And you could say we're going to have that
there on that show.
And that's it.
I'll put you on the clip.
So I'm going to allow a little bit of money to
go out with people to work.
And a lot of them have,
if we pull it a little bit,
if they don't like it,
just do that.
Because it's in the media in the project.
So I got a lot of good people in the community as well.
And you've got to love it when you have that kind of friends
in the business that are like,
look, I'm not doing this for money.
I just, I believe in what you're doing
and I want to be a part of that.
Yeah.
And it's always surprising to me to do that for people.
I don't know why, but as always,
I was so successful.
That, that, that, that, that,
make me look for sure.
And I'm not going to do that.
I want you to sort of go go to that.
Because, I mean, in the long run,
I'm going to pick up with all the people.
You know, to the best of my ability will be thought
on those.
And then, and, and, and, and,
so, you know, that, that would be,
that would be a great time in the house.
It's just, if that would have.
And we just saw on Facebook,
Kelly Kitchens, a friend of the show,
just made her pledge to your Kickstarter campaign.
And there's a lot of different levels that you can give
and different perks.
And one thing that I know is that Chad's ears
are going to perk up here in a minute.
There's a certain level that if you give
to the Kickstarter campaign,
they are going to be dark alley bowling shirts.
That are that are going to be given to certain individuals.
Yeah.
And we talk just quite about a bit yesterday on the Google Hangout.
We're all about the bowling shirt.
And if you haven't seen the logo for this,
there's it. There is a Facebook page.
If you look up dark alley on Facebook,
look for the logo that has the pins in the bowling ball.
So, you know, you're in the right place.
And one of the really cool things about what Nick is done
by the way, Nick Gibbons joining us right now
over the phone.
He's got a Kickstarter up for a show called Dark alley
that he wants to work on.
That sounds awesome.
And I'm looking forward to seeing it.
There's some testimonials from some people
who you know, which is awesome.
Yeah.
I don't want to do anything that I've just planned
with them before.
So, you've been, we've been interested.
I've been interested in that.
I mean, I'm a nerd man, forgive me.
Nice say.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I've got, when I first moved to New York,
that, like I said, it's not only that,
but that's what I had to take for the past
to get back when I got to New York,
to get back when I got to New York,
and move up there.
The comedy loudest thing to do.
And all of a sudden,
I met and was being filmed
who, yeah, did something else
I'm a judge,
and a glossy awesome person left.
And he also want to show
how he's got the light,
with the show from the sky.
It's got the light.
It's got the light.
It's got the light.
It's got the light.
It's got the light.
It's got the light.
Yeah.
This is where I leave you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You talked about an ensemble piece.
My goodness.
I mean, you can get lots of nicotine.
Tina Fey, Paul Rudd.
Yeah.
And that comes out this coming Friday.
And so Eric is on there.
Who was it?
I've lost the guy's name.
He's on the soup a lot,
but he was on the madman right now.
Yeah.
The summer is on madman.
He's fantastic.
He was an amazing actor.
And we were on a house.
One of the used to be out there.
He had to audition.
They played cyclical for people.
And they're staring.
They're not looking out to him.
He's about seven to the time.
Eight people on a team.
And they have to have to audition for literally four to five.
And a piece of audition.
Whew.
I forgot that.
It's so about 50 to 50.
It's not 50.
I'm really nervous.
But to get out of these teams.
It's not with the old girl.
At least you've been.
And maybe it's got that.
You know.
You know that.
Together.
That moment from that.
And just think of the fun of guy.
It's really fascinating.
I've got a favorite.
It's one of those guys that you watch him on madman.
And you don't really understand the comedic range.
Like I said, I've seen him on the soup at least of handful of times.
And his comedic timing is amazing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's a really kind of getting soup when I.
And you know.
It's.
It.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm the.
Okay, okay.
I'm.
I'm.
I've.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
I'm.
i'm.
And yeah, I'm an editor so I'm going to start cutting it right away.
And I'm hoping that I haven't finished a finished product, at least by the time of year,
by January with the music and then, and then, and cool, I'm really going to have
an opportunity to also show a special hand.
And I hope that you can get back down.
So yeah, I'm a few more excited about the whole thing.
And if you've done it, give me a heart attack.
I'm going to ask for an accubration.
Well, we're looking forward to seeing you.
We hope that you'll come back on with us and give us some updates about what's going on.
As much as you can, you know, you've got to shoot the thing.
You don't want to talk to shrubs like us all the time.
You want to get the work done.
So, uh, you might have to convince my wife at that from time to time.
But, uh, I mean, I think there's a lot of stuff we have to convince everybody's wife.
But, I think you're not lying, sir.
I know that you've got some stuff that you've got to go handle.
Yeah.
The kids they care of and you're going to be doing an improv show tonight.
Do you want to go ahead and plug that while you're here?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
There's been a while.
Yeah, there's been a while.
Yeah.
There's been a while.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's in a second.
Yeah.
There's been a while.
And, you want to give the kicks out of lakers.
It just too long to try to do.
It's too long.
There's just, it's.
It's, you know, it's not sitting like there's anything like that.
You're going to have to do it a little tight and touch.
I'm going to get started.
Depends on how it is, it's actually quick.
And, go.
And, well, we'll link to it from our website as soon as I can get that done for you as well.
project and we want to see it succeed. So go check out dark alley on Facebook, get to the kickstarter,
look at the, and we're not lying. The testimonials are there. They're all the YouTube links are there,
go check it out. Sir, enjoy your evening. Come back anytime. Let me know if you want to be on.
All right, thanks. Thank you very much. And then this is awesome. And have a good rest of the show.
Thank you, sir. Oh, outstanding. We hope you do.
All right, thank you. I got Dr. later. Bye bye. Take care, Nick.
All right, Nick Gibbons. I didn't interview. And I'm telling you, talking to him yesterday,
was he really is a genuinely nice guy and genuinely funny, naturally funny, just hearing him talk about
the show. I, there's nothing like it on television. I'm telling you right now, you can't see this
and go, oh, that's like this. Not possible. Good. So I'm very much looking forward to go check out
the Kickstarter. Go now. Go often. But keep us up on one window. Go look at the Kickstarter
and another window. Okay. We're going to get right back into TV talk. TNT. Looking to shop around
a live action teen Titan series. I haven't told Megan about this yet. Oh, really? Yeah.
They don't have any takers yet, but it's just going to be called Titans. I'm in. Oh,
as am I, as long as it's at the quality that they've been putting their live action. TNT does some
great dramatic work, but they've never tackled anything like this. Falling skies? I'm saying
eight and established comic book property. But I think they could do it. I want to have faith in TNT.
They also have given a second season to their show murder in the first, which my wife is a huge fan
of. So congratulations to them. TNT is kind of weird with their series like that. They kind of
fly under the radar. They'll get a good run though. TNT will give a good run to a series. They're
not one to put a bullet in something real quick. And my wife really doesn't enjoy this show. And
I haven't even told her yet. So she'll be happy to know that. We have Saturday night live news.
Your season premieres September the 27th will be hosted by one Chris Pratt because Lord knows
that dude is red hot right now. Kidding. Your musical guest will be the Ariana Grande.
She's kind of weird for me. Yeah. Like I've seen her in interviews and she's wearing like
cat ears and like you're five. What are you doing? You know? And the following episode on October
the 4th will be Sarah Silverman and musical guest Maroon 5 who just announced their February
concert here in the Dallas Fort Worth area at the American Airlines Center. They're new album V or
five. I don't know how it goes. Doing very well in the charts. And I read this morning. I'm a little
upset about this. Sessily strong has been pulled off of weekend update. You know I'm a big fan of her.
Kind of a little crush on her. She's good looking girl. She's been replaced by a Michael Chay,
but she's cool with it. She's like, I get to actually do segments with him now and so I'm okay with
that. As long as she's still on the show we're good. By which she was still doing what we can update.
Because I really like, you know, I'm always been a weekend update guy. Yeah. That was the one
that was the one fairly consistent thing about that show. So there's that anything that you want to
bring up for TV talk, sir, before we get into P.O.I. Now that the Titan's thing really, really
picked my interest from a press saw that I guess it was Friday. And I'm like, I want to I want to
sit on this for a while and see how it develops because I don't really don't want Megan to know about it
because she was such a huge fan of the animated series. The first go round. Yeah. Yeah. And young
justice, a young justice, what I would love for them to pick up that mantle and kind of run with
the, did you, you didn't your chance to watch it if young justice did you? I'm working on it now.
Dude, I just want to warn you when you get to invasion. It's going to jump three years. Right.
And you're going to be a little confused, but it's all going to work out. So you just have to stick with it.
You've told me that and she kind of helped explain it to because Megan was devoted to that show.
That was a great show. Of course. Well, just him a card you was in. So he was that couldn't have had anything to do
with what she was doing. Let's move on and do a little P.O.I. P.O.I. since for a person of interest.
It is a section we do on this show where we take a person or an entity and we debate their
greatness or lack of their love. I did it last week. So Chad has it this week. Sir,
we find ourselves on a very slippery slope with this particular P.O.I.
Yeah, you're in line. Yeah, no kidding. I find myself going to oldies radio more often than not.
See, that's a difference between you and me as you listen to radio. Well, I mean, in any form,
I mean, I, I was into a little bit of XM, but I'm, I pot intensive most of the time. Well,
and I tend to go that for the reasons that we're going to talk about. Yeah. Yeah. I go more with my,
with my iPod or my CD collection or whatever, because it's the only thing I can stomach.
And I put it on a station that for years locally. It's 98.7 K-Love here in Dallas.
What you love was say my brother. Can I listen to your K-Love so classic? No, my brother.
Uh, they were the go-to station if you wanted to hear stuff from the 50s and 60s. You could hear, you know,
Motown, Duop, Elvis, a lot of Beatles. Yeah, a lot of Beatles. And it was a, it was a favorite of mine.
You know, you will find as you get older, your musical taste change drastically and dramatically. It's kind of like
boxworthy once said about the way you dress. You get to a certain point in the fashion train.
And that's where you get off. Yeah. That's where you stay. Musically, it's the same way. Pretty much.
And I have, I have contested for years that for me, music died in 95. It, it, it, it just,
it got taken off a life support. I could, I could see how I, I would give it a little bit more time
than that. But then again, you got to remember, you know, DJing as long as you did have a choice.
Right. You were forced to list to a lot of stuff that I would have not listened twice to.
And some something that they're, there were nuggets here and there of a great. There are.
There are. I'm not, I'm not consistently, no. Which every generation says about their music.
Exactly. versus the jury generation behind them. And that's why I'm hoping this doesn't come off
as old man Chad talking. But I know that you're already there. You're, but you're, but I know,
not necessarily an age you're right there with me and this argument. Oh, I'm not that far
behind you even in exactly really think about it. Exactly. You've got me by a high school career.
That's about it. It's about it. And I was, I was asking jewels about this asking my lovely wife
who is a British descent. That is true. Personally, tell me many or many or many say that before I do,
it's for you say it. Of, I wonder, because when I put it on 98.7 and I no longer hear,
you know, do up in Motown. I'll tell you what killed me is the first time I was writing with
Charlotte. And we, she wasn't the K-love because we've always mentioned that she was born 10 years
later than she should have been. That's, that's putting it lightly. Maybe 20. And she turned on
K-love and they were playing one of Deeter alive by Bon Joven. That's where I was going. When I,
I mean, I was like, I need to go to the card. And I hear Little Red Corvette Billy Jean. Oh my,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's back this parade up a couple of four. Because we also
had a station in town that is switched formats as well. And that's what they used to play. It was
all 70s, 80s and 90s. Well, now K-love since mix 1029 dropped that format. And they've gone to a
more modern listening, new playlist, 98.7. I guess decided to pick up where mix 1029 left off.
And it's kind of distressing to me because, you know, the promise are, we're old. That's the
problem. Well, but it's like, as I guess as Radio moves forward a decade, it drops a decade off
of its play. It's about right. So, I mean, I remember when you first had those mix types,
they should have as always the best of the 70s, 80s, and today. Yeah. And now it's the best of the 80s,
back to the exactly what happened to the 70s. There was a good stuff in the same time. So, so I asked
Jules, I'm like, I wonder what is all these radio going to sound like in another 10 years? What,
like, in 2025? I've got to wonder if it's even going to be a thing. That's, and that's why
that was going to be my final analysis is, is all these radio even going to exist? Hell,
is terrestrial radio even going to exist. That's a fair point. But I guess, I mean, we're now seeing
it through old man eyes. You know, look at something like serious XM, where you have all these
channels that go even genre specific, where it's, you know, they've already got pop 2k, which is
all music from the odds. So does it now become, you know, it's like our music star, the music
of the generation before us has now been relegated to like public radio, like, you know, like
NNPR type stuff, but not that talk. Don's in the chat room. Could to see you, sir. You said you
really enjoyed the Google Hangout yesterday, which as did I, again, thanks to Nick Gibbons for coming
on with. God, that was such a great time. That was cool. Um, I just, I'm like, you, I don't know
that terrestrial radio in, in 10 or 11 years is even a thing. Because you talk about something
on life support. Yeah. It's all corporate owned. The, the little local station is becoming
more and more of a relic. I mean, we have our local high school station here, but outside of
that. And I mean, we have K, I went, K, N, O, N, which is like a local almost an indie pirate
station at this point. Yeah. But I think on some mobile K, O, N, and so it's put, it's like that
will still be around. But things like K, love, that's like the old station. I think that those
are slowly, but surely becoming a thing of the past. Yeah. Because you have other stations like
the mixed stations that are playing that music. And the other thing that really distresses me
though is, okay, number one, when the, the year I say the music died in 95, it's not like I was a
fossil at that point. You know, you're, you're in the prime. I was, you know, I was still in my late 20s,
and you were, you were in the very lucrative 18 to 35. Exactly. So I was still young enough to
appreciate what was being played. But I was old enough to realize that most of what was being played
was other crap. And it was starting to go that way of over-processing and over-producing,
which you didn't have, I hate to say this, when, when we were young. Um, now here's, no,
here's the X factor for me. When it stops being art, and it becomes product, pure product. Yeah.
It's, it's marketed as a money making. It's like it's being cranked out of a sausage machine.
Exactly. When you had one guy in some X lawyer in Florida that was cranking out this stuff with
in sync and Brittany, and, and it was all just this formulaic, he's still in prison. I think so.
You know, it's, it's like how, you know, Steve Martin described, you know, McDonald's food,
hamburger, paper box. Here's your change. You know, it's, it's, it's devoid of anything that
makes you feel. And, you know, in my opinion, when, when something is manufactured to no longer
illicit an emotion, it's no longer art. It becomes pure product. Now, unless they're,
they lose permanent with the guy's name. Okay. Unless the, unless the emotion that you're trying
to illicit is utter disdain, then I guess you've done your job. Because, you know, you just
have this complete and utter lack of interest at anything that you hear on radio with few exceptions,
Bruno Mars, he still gets greatness. I know, I'm not a fan of her music, but I know that
Katy Perry will connect with people every now and then. She's really hit her miss with me. Like some
of it's really good, and some of it, I'm like probably could have left that one off the album.
I mean, I mean, other than Bruno Mars, it didn't just, and, and the Timberlake. Timberlake,
Timberlake, Timberlake, Timberlake, did do runs the world. Timberlake will kill it. But,
outside of the, the, the, the machine of hip hop, which I completely have distance myself from.
I mean, then this is coming from somebody who was a huge, I don't even know if you would
what you call hip hop in the 80s. Yeah, because it was the birth of rap and hip hop. I guess so.
Now, just to me, hip hop is like a sub genre at this point. It's, it's no longer, no longer strikes
me as rap, because you really hear that term used. It's mainly hip hop artists. And if that's what
hip hop is now, I don't want to part of it. Some of it's okay, but as a whole, it's, it's not nearly
the same problem though. But that's the, that's the problem though. It's like the best we can say.
Yeah, that's all right. But I mean, you remember whenever albums would get released in the 80s,
you were rabbit, you could wait to get your hands on this stuff. Now, you're like, oh, I'll get it
of someone. But the digital age has a lot to do with that too. Well, I love you. But, you know,
I can go, it's a double edged sword, because I like the fact that I can just go get a song,
I don't have to buy the whole album. Yeah. But back then, because they had to sell albums as a cohesive
whole, right? And they sold, yes, folks, there were things called cassette singles in the 80s.
And I had plenty of it. And yes, and, and my radio ate a ton of them.
CDs were still in their relative infancy. CD singles really weren't even a thing yet. They were
still just trying to establish the format of CDs. Who had the first CD single? I know they actually
know the answer to this. I have Phil Roxette. Oh, okay. Now, Phil Collins was the first one to
not release a vinyl. Correct. The vinyl would be released later, but the initial release was only
of cassette and CD, which I required. But they up there gained to where you wanted to buy that
whole freaking album, because it was good enough to be played as a whole from beginning to end side
to side. And that started to decline in the 90s too, because in the 90s, it was like they realized
wait a minute. They got to hide by a whole album. So there were many CDs that I bought that,
you know, I bought because I was DJing at the time. And there was one or two songs that I needed
because I knew I was going to have to play them. But the rest of the album was crack. Yeah,
it's like you had two, two, maybe three stand out radio friendly, strong tracks on the rest of
it was filler. And then people would just start waiting for greatest hits album. Yeah, I was like,
well, why bother? If you're just going to put out a bunch of garbage music, then there's really no point
to it. And so again, that brings us full circle to the question. All these music in 2025?
Good. May do we had Eminem and Kanye wished? I mean, do we honestly think that anybody's
going to be listening to Lil John and Rihanna in 2025? I seriously doubt that. Nobody's got the
staying power that artists that we grew up on head. That's why they're releasing albums.
So quickly, yeah, strike while the iron's hot. And what people don't understand is if you do it right,
you can make that last. I mean, and one of the the biggest examples of that to me was boys to men.
What people don't go out there and realize, coolly high army was in 91.
Two didn't release until almost 95. God Almighty. But in 92, you had end of the road. In the 1993,
you had, um, this song that did for the Jackson's movie, the, the, the, in the soul of the night,
when they did that Ocapella version. Uh-huh. And then something else in 94. So by the time to hit,
they never left a spotlight because their management knew how to keep them relevant. Yeah.
You didn't have to release 19 singles at one time and hope that one of them went to number one.
Spread the thing out. Well, but that that the way they do it now,
everybody's featuring on everybody else's freaking albums. And it, I like what album is that from because
it could be anybody's. That's why I take the word featured out of my iTunes listing.
I just put, I put the little ampersand hand and there you go. I hate the word featured.
I put FT. Yeah. I didn't put that. But to me, that's another thing. It's like,
nobody has their own sound anymore. So, and, you know, as far as as far as the question goes,
I don't, I don't think there is going to be an oldies radio in 2025. I think that this is what
it's going to be. It's going to be all podcasting. I didn't sound like. Yeah. That's what you're doing.
It's going to dress to a radio is going the day of the way. Somebody's going to find a way that
you can do true radio stage radio shows on podcasting. And it's going to go from there. Yeah. I agree.
Because it can't charge four to 19s anyways. It's not like you're making money. This is true. So,
let us move on because we got to go back to sports. We're going to go on campus week three
of college football is in the books. BYU fresh off an absolute thrashing of Texas beats the
University of Houston, a little bit closer. 35 to 23 on Thursday night. Bailer played Friday night
at Buffalo. Buffalo. Buffalo. And they beat down Buffalo 63 to 21. Number 22, Ohio State over
Ken State 66 to NAN. Can we start getting into conference play? Can we just don't want these
cupcake games? However, East Carolina upsets Virginia Tech. When I say last week on this show,
watch East Carolina. There are a program on the rise. Go back and check the tape. I said it
because I am the smartest man alive. They they upset Virginia Tech 28 to 21 Virginia Tech right number 17,
sir. That bad. UCF goes into Mizzou and loses by by four touchdowns. Louisville also gets
upset this weekend as Virginia beats them by a safety number two Oregon putting a whipping on Wyoming
48 to 14. The game where college game day was Georgia at South Carolina. Both teams ranked
38 35 for the old ball coach. Tell me the SEC's dead. Tell me a Daria. Who in their right
mind would say that? A lot of people are saying it right now. Number 14 Ole Miss over Ullala 56 to 15
Stanford blanks army by 35 Alabama over Southern Miss 52 to 12. What?
Okay. Ullala. Very nice. That's all. Very nice.
All of you been wins big at Ullala. Notre Dame over Purdue. Notre Dame still undefeated 30 to 14,
but they're going to have a problem not being a part of the conference win this playoff system happens.
I've got my own earworm. Thanks for that. You're welcome. USC also upset this week. Number nine
upset 37 31 by Boston College. UCLA goes to Austin last night. UCLA currently ranked 12 Texas
unranked. UCLA gets out of their winning by a field goal. UCLA by a field. Yeah. So it's not the
beating at BYU put on Texas with Texas still struggling and here's my thing with Texas. I love
Charlie Strong. So is there a way that we can make him successful and not the team?
We find a new hole somewhere in Oklahoma beats Tennessee 34 to 10 A&M over Rice 38 to 10
and Arizona State 38 24 over Colorado elsewhere. The only game that I know of two games I know of
USF took a beating last night and Florida has to go to triple overtime to beat Kentucky.
Yikes. But you know what? To that third string running back who said that they were going to
enjoy beating Florida and rubbing it in their faces. You've now gone 39 years without beating the
University of Florida. So go pound sand. All right. It's the kids like to say suck on that.
Don't if you're a third string running back don't run your mouth. If you're first string running
back don't run your mouth. These are kids you're talking about sir. Kids today with the clothes in the
there you go. But college football in full swing we're about a month from things really starting to matter.
So be ready for that kids. Let's now flip the coin and talk NFL.
And let me just start by saying worst week for the NFL.
Brilliant lion. Do we really need to go into the Ray Rice thing? Has that been covered well enough?
We do want to give one update that I'm just seeing courtesy of our friends at football night in America.
Ray Rice going to appeal his indefinite suspension tomorrow. Good luck.
By the way, do you know who's overseeing the oversight committee on that?
The owners of the Steelers and the Giants?
Okay, who also happen to be the grandfathers of one Rooney Mara. Yeah. Yeah.
That's that's the big thing right now. It's our saying you can't have people inside the
organization run the oversight committee. It's a conflict of interest. That is a conflict of interest.
A lot of people calling for Roger Cadell's job at this point. Somebody I think was a Wall Street Journal
actually suggested Condalisa Rice Replace. Yeah.
But then you've got this kid from McDonald from San Francisco, allegedly beating up his pregnant
fiancee and he was on the field in uniform last Sunday. He's now been suspended by the team.
Greg Hardy from Carol lineup. Who was convicted by a judge in July? I've actually heard the
911 tapes. They released a 911 tapes from that. Him and his girlfriend fighting in the
apartment apparently he called first. She was attacking him and then the woman that lived below them
called 911 and said you need to get the cops over right now. He's been and there's a lot of
beeping as she was referring to the things he was doing to her. He's now been suspended by the
Carolina Panthers and then Friday as because you know things are going so well,
Adrian Peterson, indicted in Houston for endangerment of a child which we're now fighting out
was he whooped the child with a switch. If you don't know what a switch is, if you're a younger
generation, it's a basically a stick. If your parents were that into it, you would have to go pick
your own off the tree. Yeah. But there are now allegations coming out that the kids growing area was
stricken. I'm not willing to talk about it because I haven't heard enough about it. But
there's going to be a meeting about it at the NFL office tomorrow. We just saw in football
night in America. We always keep a TV on in the studio in case anything breaks that we can share
with you. Who boy? This has given me the ABGB just even talking about it. If you're Roger Gadel or
you like, I star an Alexander in the terrible horrible good no bad day. You know that's that movie's
coming out. Yeah. Yeah. Saw the earth around. I saw the ad for the other day. I just saw that like last
week. I was like, how did I not know about this? Because I love that book as a kid. But let's get into
some better things week two of the NFL. As I was coming back from Gatesville today, thankful that
I have XM. I was able to listen to a couple of the games. I will say this for XM. The presentation
has gotten much better. Really? What they do? I don't know what they did. Did you ever listen to an
NFL game on XM? I could probably listen to it three way. They're broadcasting underwater and
damn arena at the 20 and there's a pass. That's how it always sounded. It sounds like their
traffic coverage does now. Well, obviously, if it was a damn arena, quarterbacking.
Well, I had to pick a player. I'm working on the fly here.
But now you actually are getting the, what you end up getting is the radio feed from the home team.
So what you get now, it actually sounds like you're listening to it on your local FM affiliate.
Well, that's good. The quality's gotten much better. Good. Good. Good. Good. So let's go in Thursday night.
Where's Dawn? Dawn? How's Thursday night for you?
Which as the Pittsburgh sealers go to Baltimore and take a 26 to 6 beating?
That's not a W. Dawn. So you know, and if you know what I'm going to talk about, go listen to
last week's show. Earlier today, my Miami dolphins also now have a one in the lost column as the
Buffalo bills who, by the way, are 2 and 0 and leading the division. In case you were wondering,
the Buffalo bills 2 and 0 as they beat down my dolphins 29 to 10. Your Dallas Cowboys were
the big win against the mighty Tennessee Titans 26 to 10. Cincinnati goes to Atlanta.
I don't know, Cincinnati hosting Atlanta and shows them the door 24 to 10. New Orleans and Cleveland.
That was a good game. What a great game from everything I've heard and seen.
Cleveland goes to one in one as they beat New Orleans by a safety, which by the way, now puts
the Saints at 0 and 2. It was a field girl ride at the, ride at the buzzer. There was like three
seconds. I just put a New England beats down Minnesota 30 to seven after the loss to Miami.
Arizona over the New York Giants. They're doing your Cowboys a favor, 25 to 14. And wow, Jacksonville.
Welcome to the nation's capital. Here's 41 to 10 to take home with you. That was good night.
John says a W is a W regardless, but a beat down. It's just ugly. He's right. The man's right.
That was a bugging. When you're right, you're right. Carolina. We were kind of worried about
Carolina going into this game. I don't know if you heard the press conference on Friday. When
about 19 different times, Cam Newton referred to Endomic and Sue as Donkey Kong Sue.
God. And we were like, dude, is that a dude you really want to be on the bad side of? Do we need to
show you some footage of him stepping on dudes? So we were kind of hoping maybe they just have
that kind of a friendship that they can call each other names. Didn't really matter because Carolina
wins 24 to 7 in the late games. St. Louis beats my beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a safety 19 to 17.
That game got delayed an hour due to lightning in the area. Almost an hour and a half. But at the
half time of the game today, Derek Brooks goes into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ring of honor. So congratulations
to him also in the Hall of Fame. Now, San Diego beats Seattle. The defending champs 30 to 21 today
in their house. San Diego's house that is Denver. Hosting Kansas City. Very close at the half.
Wines up 24 to 17. The Jets traveled to the Rose and Tundra of Lambo V.
And the Jets lose 31 to 24. So now Buffalo has sole possession of first place in the
AFCE. Oh, yeah, by the way, it's week two. So let's not get stupid with. And Houston beats the
Oakland race. 30 to 14. So Houston after losing to Davey on cloudy last week. Still holding on.
But it is Oakland. So it's not, uh, it's not getting crazy with it. Tonight we've got a bar and burner
in San Francisco as the Chicago Bears play the 49ers in that brand new stadium and tomorrow night
brother. Tomorrow night. Filly at Indy. Oh dear. That's going to be a great game in my favorite
play on the NFL. Pat McAfee will be kicking for the Indianapolis Colts. I loved the NFL.
Don't stop it. Don't don't don't. If you haven't heard the Manipackian NFL song do
yourself a favor. It's brilliant. It's brilliant. Don't don't. Don't listen to that
bastardization of Billy Joel's honesty. So let's talk about next week in the NFL week three right
around the corner. As you will probably see some uniform changes next week. I wasn't not sure if
you were aware of tomorrow. Uh, begins Hispanic Heritage Month. And they always do some things
when the NFL just certain uniforms that Patriot be to that. It starts tomorrow and goes through
October 15 which I always thought was kind of strange because it's not a calendar month. It's just
called a calendar month. Okay. So Thursday night in NFC South War in Atlanta as the Falcons
host my beloved Buck and ears. Sunday here are your early games. Well, they're all mixed into
together now. So Sunday at noon, your Dallas Cowboys are at the St. Louis Rams St. Louis
very weird right now. They've got flashes of brilliance. Kansas City is at my beloved
Dolphins. That's a late game on on CBS. The San Diego Superchargers are at the undefeated Buffalo
bills. That'll be a new one o'clock Eastern game. Also at one o'clock Eastern. Tennessee will be at
Cincinnati. So Tennessee after the loss to date a Dallas has to go play the Bengals. Baltimore will
be at Cleveland at one o'clock Eastern. That might be a good game to watch Green Bay at Detroit. Also
I want to clock Eastern Oakland at New England. It's going to depend on which New England team shows up.
Yeah. Also at one o'clock Eastern Minnesota at New Orleans New Orleans trying to get in the W column
Minnesota struggle today. So we're going to see how they bounce back. Let's see. You've got Houston
at the Giants noon. I want to clock Eastern time. That'll be a good game to watch Washington at Filly
and NFC matchup that you know always good to watch. I know you wanted to end in a zero zero
time. Don't get me wrong. But that'll be a great game to watch as well. Indie is at Jacksonville at
one o'clock next Sunday. Unless you live in Indie or Jacksonville, that game will not be available to you.
San Francisco at Arizona in the late game Denver at Seattle, which I think you know Super Bowl
rematch next Sunday and Pittsburgh at Carolina. Don your defense has to hold next week against
Cam Newton in his flat jacket and the night that's the night game next Sunday. That's your primetime
game next Sunday and Monday night football next week. Chicago at the Jets. So Monday night getting
a couple of pretty good matchups, which we know history has shown us in the last few years that
Monday night matchups have not always been enjoyable. No, they've got a couple of good ones running
strong here for them. You are listening to the clubhouse. If you miss any section of our show,
you can check it out on the archive. Also, just subscribe on iTunes because if you subscribe
on iTunes, you get stuff other people don't. I'm just saying. I'm not saying we like them more. I'm
just saying they get extra stuff. Let's do some music talk. I get the best detail to the plane. Indeed.
The food fighters. If you can believe this, the food fighters getting ready to celebrate their
20th anniversary, sir. 20 years, those boys have been making music. Something about the
conversation we were having earlier coming back to bite us. They are planning something called
unquote cool for their 20th anniversary. They're not saying what it is, but they're saying stay tuned.
You know me and Dave Grohl. I'm a fan. Pretty much anything he's done. I'm on board with. Yeah.
And that and he's a great drummer. A lot of people forget that that he was the drummer in
Nirvana. That dude can play the drums, man. I told you about that that let me documentary that
I picked up and watched. Yeah. Yeah. He has a session with them. They do a session together.
And their drummer looks like a young edge. So I don't know if you've heard that. Have you heard
this Kanye West story? I keep, I keep seeing the headline pop up, but Kanye West doing a concert
and chastizes a fan for being in their seat and not standing up. Here's the problem. The
dude was in a wheelchair Kanye. Just give me another reason to despise this waste of time. At
what point do you go? You know what? I'm just going to come out and sing and go home because never
not this guy. You want to talk about things that are wrong with music. It's the attitude. His
early and I was talking to a friend of mine the other day. Friend of the show Pam Hawkins. And she was
saying, you know what? You can pinpoint it to when his mom passed away. When everything went
off the rails because of the whole debacle with his mom and the plastic surgeon and everything else.
He just lost his mind and never gained it back. No. Because his early stuff, even this song,
which isn't that old, but I enjoy this song. Now I like the phrase version of it. I can't
because all I can hear is freaking auto to pain. But the phrase version is really really good too.
They kind of turned into kind of like a swing. It's kind of neat. But yeah, there's that.
And if you have iTunes or any eye device that downloads things, you got the brand new YouTube album
this week, songs of innocence. Brilliant marketing if you ask me. A lot of people complaining
well, I didn't want to, it didn't download to your device. Let's be clear on something.
They made it available to you. And if you wanted it, you'd have to click the little cloud icon
which would then download it to your iTunes. You didn't just automatically get it.
What do you if you listen to it yet? I have not. I've heard reviews that are real stellar.
Yeah. And here's why. Here's what I think it is. Remember earlier this year we talked about
YouTube working on the new album and they scrapped it and started over. I think that's what we got.
I think we got what they scrapped. Really? That's what I, that's my theory. I can't prove that currently.
But I think that's why they gave it away. They're like, we got to do something with this.
Do you think they're going to pull a print?
Release more than one album this year. I think they will. I think we're actually going to get
the album they want to release later this year because that's still going to happen.
And when it happens, you did hear it here first. I'm just saying that. So you give one away and then
you charge, you actually charge for the one you really threw all your page. Well, I wouldn't you. Yeah,
I'm just saying. Music new releases and places you get music new releases this week.
Cannibal corpse releases a skeletal domain. You're probably seeing yourself. Rob, why would you
mention capital, uh, cannibal corpse? Where do we know cannibal corpse from?
Ace Ventura. Absolutely. They were the band and Ace Ventura pet detective the first one when
he's going to meet up with a guy. New England clam chowder. I love that. I just love that movie.
But they are the band that plays in that. Also Chris Brown releases X this week. I don't know that's X or 10.
Moving on. The guy playing guitar in this song with Chris Dottree.
Slash releases world on fire. Found out recently. I don't know if I ever told you this.
One of the girls that works for me dated him when they were in middle school. Yes, you did. You did tell me that.
You talked about a moment where the entire room of people went. What? She said they were in middle school.
She didn't even know it was him until years later when she found out his real name. She was like, I did that.
It's it's all something. It's all yeah, it's all this first name. And it was just like the whole room wait.
Are you kidding me? She was like, I did. We're like, okay, we can't disprove it. So why not?
Also a brand new album from this guy. And I know if my if the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin is not excited about this.
Her best friend Sheila will be because Sheila has taken her to see him twice in the last 18 months. Tim McGrock releases his new album sundown head in town.
So you know what I like to Tim McGrock. Actually, I thought he'd cut up a different song than this, but the cowboy in me is a great song.
They actually used that song. The last time the cowboys did hard knocks. They were taking the train from Oxnard to Oakland because they were playing a preseason game.
And they played that while the montage of them on the train. And if you haven't heard that song, that's a really really good song.
There's also a song he has called Watch the Wind blowby. I think you'd really dig.
They're asking quite a bit for me because you know me. I'm no fan of country.
I know, but it's it's it's not her. He's it's it's it's it's more poppy style country. I'll play for you after the show because I think it really did get song.
It's no guy in a taco bell drive through an inch. And also a brand new album from these guys.
Come on. Come on, Pat. The sounds of sound. Seeing some sing from Pat.
Train.
He says a brand new album this week called Bulletproof Picasso. And you know, I saw them. They did a concert last time that
the lovely and talented Mrs. Urban and I were in Tampa. They did a concert after the Tampa Bay race game.
And they they're great. They did a they close with she's on fire. And they stretch she's on fire for like 20 minutes.
And it was cool because Pat was like having other people singing and he actually ran all the way around the stadium.
Sing in the song. It was really cool. They do it. They're very very good live. If you've never seen train live, do yourself a salad.
That that Pat money hands in great shape as much as he runs around on that stage.
It's his cardio in every night apparently. Oh, also by the way, the new look right album dropped this past week.
They actually played one of his songs with a ring your name yesterday. Really. Yeah, it was cool.
And he went and bought his own album at a target and he filmed it. And the lady that at the counter didn't believe it was him.
He's it's on YouTube. And she's like, that's it. Look like you. He's like, no, it's really me.
Why would I lie about this? I bought it yesterday. I haven't had chance to listen to it yet.
But I'm a big look cray fan. He's going to be playing at the Verizon theater here in the Dallas Fort Worth area October the fourth.
I will not be able to go because the Madrid and the in-laws are in town. Oh, so.
And also you know who's playing there on my anniversary? No, that would be one Ringo star.
Oh, geez. Yeah. So there's that. Let's talk baseball, shall we?
Let's go straight to standings. If we have to. Not happy right now. In the American League,
East, the Boston Red Sox. Pretty much mathematically out of the divide this point.
66 and 84. They're 23 games back. So 66 and 84. That's 144 or 150.
They physically cannot lose 100 games. Really? Because if they lose every one of their games,
they would be at 96 losses. This is something that that public school math just.
They are six games behind the Tampa Bay race who are six and a half games behind the Yankees.
The Yankees right now are 11 and a half out. They're a half game behind Toronto. Toronto is 11 and a half
behind Baltimore. Baltimore is magic number currently is four. In the A.L. Central, the Minnesota twins
also mathematically out of it at 63 and 86. They are 20 games out, but they also cannot lose 100 games.
The Chicago White Sox or five games better than them. Cleveland six and a half back. But five games
behind Kansas City Detroit has now retaken the lead in that division. Their magic number is 13.
In the A.L. West, your Texas Rangers. I'm going to refresh this screen because I know that
numbers wrong right there. There it is. Your Texas Rangers. They can lose 100 games there.
57 and 92. They can lose 100 games. They are 36 games back, but they've one three straight.
You want to know how I know that? You'll find out here in a minute.
To me, started. You are nine games behind the Houston Astros. Houston is 15 and a half
behind Seattle. Seattle two and a half behind Oakland. And right now with a magic number of four
is low. The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles County, California, America,
North America, Earth Milky Way. In the National League. Because we have to cover the National
in the NL West, the Colorado Rockies. Also could lose 100 games. Are the only other teams
besides the Rangers that could lose 100 games right now? 59 and 90. That is a cold comfort.
They've lost six in a row. They're 26 games out. They're two games behind Arizona. Arizona is
eight and a half behind San Diego. The difference between San Diego and San Francisco right now,
13 and a half games. Jeez. San Francisco is now three games behind the Misty's beloved
LA Dodgers who are now, they're magic numbers 11. St. Louis, now leading the NL Central. But in
last place are the Sad Sacha Kago Cubs who can't lose 100 games because they're at 65 and 84
or 17 and a half back. They are five and a half worse than Cincinnati. Cincinnati's got a seven
game distance between them in the Milwaukee Brewers. Pits, Donsville 11, Pittsburgh Pirates.
Three and a half back of John Anderson's beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Again, St. Louis magic number
is 10 and now in the only division that matters. At least it did. The NL East. Philadelphia still
sucks and that's good news, but they can't lose 100 games. They are 16 and a half back. They are
two and a half games behind the Metz. My Marlins are in the middle of the packet 13 back.
My beloved Atlanta Braves are now 10 and a half back on Washington after getting swept by the
Rangers. The lowly left me say that again for the people in the cheap seats because I'm not
allowed. I'm not afraid to admit it. My beloved brave got swept by the Rangers and it was,
oh, it's going to be three zifters. What did I say last week? That's so fast my friend. Yeah.
Because they don't put anything past anybody. And they beat us 10 to three today.
Let's go to your wild card standings. But the Friday and Saturday games arose at
with close. Three to two and two to one. Yeah. But I, I still had a great time. I really, really did.
And you spent the day at the ballpark. So the day at the ballpark with friends of the show,
David, David, Angie McDonan, and Phil Markane with William Club seats. Phil had the
jumbo chili cheese dog. That was neither jumbo or a cheese dog. But whatever,
wild card standings. American League right now. Remember you have two wild cards. So right now
it's a season ended today. Your wild cards would be Oakland in Kansas City. But Seattle's one back
Toronto's four back. The Yankees are four and a half back. Cleveland's five back. Tampa Bay's
10 back. But they would pretty much have to win out. And everybody else would have to lose out
for them to get in. Because there's only 12 games left in the season. Okay. In the national league,
scroll down a little bit. Right now, Dons beloved Pittsburgh pirates have one of the wild
cards spots as so but so does San Francisco. They've got the two wild cards. But right now,
Milwaukee's a game in a half back. Atlanta's four back. Miami six and a half back. The Metz
are seven and a half back. Cincinnati's eight and a half back. Philies 10 back. But again,
they'd have to win out. Really. So the NL's a lot tighter of a race. Oh, by the way, the
Rangers are 24 and a half back in the wild card. So I felt like salted. But you've won three straight
and it's all. Yeah. Two good birds. I still love my braves and I have a wonderful jersey
to prove it. I'm very excited about that. All right. So now it's time to play America's favorite
game show. What is the run differential for the Houston Astros? Donas already said minus 90
chat. I'll go with 88. The Houston Astros currently 66 and 83. They have a win percentage of
443. They're 27 games back of first place. They are 35 and 39 at home 31 and 44 on the road.
They have a one game winning streak. Don beats you. Right now, the run differential for the Houston
Astros is minus 95. They could finish the season and double digits, sir. Not likely. But you're
Texas Rangers are already pasted out of minus 163. They gain some ground this weekend now.
They're just like Dennis Leary just now. Yes, you did.
I got a stop going to see them play because this is the second time I've gotten this
in the race play and they've got beaten boat times about Rangers.
So there's that. You are listening to the clubhouse. We are live every Sunday,
70s are in 4 Pacific. We are your one stop shop for all things, sports, and entertainment.
Let's combine those two things and talk a little bit of professional wrestling while I take a
sip of my tasty beverage. By the way, shameless plug. Two weeks from tomorrow, Chick-fil-A and
Carolton, Graystee doing an acoustic set. Gonna have more details later this week. Two of your favorite
things. I know. My band and Chick-fil-A. By the way, and modeling my Graystee T-shirt right now.
Yes, I noticed. Very, very stylish. We were doing our opening number today and I went,
you know, we're in a band, because Kenny was wearing his do. I was like, what is the name of our band?
Oh, you did. I did shameless self promotion. So the CM Punk section has been removed from
WWE Shop.com and how long has he even gone? Since WrestleMania. Well, there was also some
threatening of legal action if they can make a money off of it. Wow. So his section of WWE Shop
is gone. And that's really all the raw headlines I have. Not a real big week in wrestling headlines.
So let's go ahead and talk about raw for a minute. So this was the season premiere of raw.
Of a show that never went on hiatus to begin with. Did all the original cast come back?
Well, here's my problem. They did one of those previously on Monday night raw. It was like,
it was like, why does this look like the opening of impact? Yikes. I was just waiting for.
Like, that's what I was waiting for. I was like, really sad. And just kind of a
suggestion for page lay off the headbutts. Because she misses them by a country mob
which you whips her hair back and forth. It's not the same with Doc doesn't say it. But
she whips her hair around. So it makes it look like she's trying to make it look like she's
really headbutting and you're missing her by like two feet. So just kill the headbutts dude.
You're not convincing anymore. No, it's it's really not. And I like her. I think she's a great
technical wrestler. I think she's a great matchup for AJ Lee. I think their their styles come
into other very well. But it just that doesn't work for me. Not as you're completely missing
the mark every time. So we had some NXT wrestlers do a do a tag match because they had the NXT
takeover of the network Thursday night. And there was a four-way dance for the NXT title.
And we got Sami Zayn on TV, formerly known as El Generico. Oh, really? Yes. And what was great
is when he got in the ring, the entire arena is still doing. Oh, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo.
Because that was the chanting they did for him when he was El Generico. You know, he was gritting from
your dude. And his trunks are really cool. They just got a bunch of different flags from around the
world on him. So, really, I hope they get to get him more exposure on RAW because I really like that
dude. He's incredibly talented. And then let's talk about the Springer segment on the other
into that spectrum, and we have to. It's just, it's impossible to defend. It's absolutely
impossible to defend. You know, you don't get to be entertained during that direct. My face
must be. I was just like, why is this happening? Like, why is this happening? Because somebody
in creative quote unquote thought it was a good idea. I still think we're leading up to a
quick match with the bellers after not a champions. Because now you're not a champions,
diva title matches is a three-way dance with Nikki and AJ and Paige. So that's happening.
But I will say this. Two quality matches. We started raw with Jericho Bray Wyatt in the cage.
How long is he going to be around? Jericho? Yeah. Three-night champions. That's, I think so.
Jericho did take the bump off the top of the cage and I think he tweaked his knee when he
did it. But he jumped off the cage on to Bray Wyatt. And then the main event was good except for
the screw job ending. But I'll tell you what, we almost saw something on raw that night that
almost got weird. Because when Roman Reigns is beaten down Randy Kane and Seth Rollins came down
and they were like, all these guys came with them all these stage hands and they're like,
what's going on here? And they were pulling out poles from underneath the ring. Well, the reason
they brought out the poles is that they brought the cage back down. And I didn't know the way they
construct a cage now. These poles have, they have these like square holes on the top of them. And
the cage slides into these holes. Well, the part of the cage is slides into these holes is a very
sharp point. And Seth Rollins almost got in pale. It was close. It was like, oh, because it was
even mentioned online on people were like, yeah, that got a little weird. I mean, I didn't really
dig the way they ended it. I just don't see that there's any way that Seth Rollins wins on Sunday.
Because we're going to let him really destroy both the other members of the shield.
And I just also think that Roman Reigns, you can't destroy the push he's on. No,
but we'll talk about that next push. He's either one of them or on, actually, because Dean
Ambrose is getting a pretty big place. Well, he's doing a movie right now. He's off TV.
Oh, Dean Ambrose is off TV. Because remember they did the spot where they made it look like
Seth Rollins did the curb stop onto a big stack of cement blocks. Oh, okay. Okay. And we'll have
information for you later this week on how next week's Diet of Champions pre-show is going to go.
I'll be dropping by Fox and Hound probably Wednesday to check in with them. See how things are going.
But it got some great things going on over there. Because I follow their Facebook feed, too.
They actually, of course, we had Patriot Day on Thursday. A couple of their managers went and
visited one of our local Richards and fire departments and spent some time over there. We're just kind of cool.
Oh, okay. So there's that. But I mean, good booking. I just really like the ending.
I think if they were going to do that ending, it probably would have been to better tomorrow as the
Go Home show leading up to night at Champions. Yeah, but these Go Home shows have been very, very
weak. We'll see. Okay. So bully Ray has actually been offered a short-term deal with TNA to get
them through down for glory. Because they were afraid that he was going to be gone before they go
in the home. Let's talk a little bit about impact. Remember, I told you last week that we had the
kid that had lost a limb. That was in the service. Yes. He had his debut match. He got to wrestle
DJ Zema Ion, which I thought. I thought Zema did a really good job of selling for this kid.
Because it wasn't like he was lucky. The kid could go. But I thought Zema was really kind of in his
own way because he still got to play the heel. Right. But I thought in a heelish way he was really
respectful of a kid. I just don't know. He didn't try to squash him. No, no, no. I just don't know how far
you can book this thing. I want the kid to do well because I thought he went to the Dudley school
and the Dudley did it for free. They took him into their school for free. So cool. And I just
kind of wonder where we're going to go with this thing. But I thought he was really good. My only
problem was they opened the show with the National Anthem and the local New York color guard was
there. Right. Just a little tip. If the color guard is in the aisle and you are sitting on either side
of the aisle, which means you are on camera. If dog on well better stand up the National Anthem.
Yeah. In New York City. And by the way, if you think about it, that episode aired the day before
Patriot Day. No, Lord was originally had they still been on Thursday night. What have been on
Patriot Day? And you're not standing up for the National Anthem? Are you insane? But how long ago was
this shot? Well, they knew when it was going to air. Yeah. But the guys, the guy on the aisle,
probably didn't even tell you. It's still the National Anthem. I don't care who you are. Yeah. You stand
up. You take your hat off and you respect the National Anthem. I believe me. I'm not arguing
with you there. That really, really, really upset me. Also, I've now determined we are turning James
Storm into Bray Wyatt. That's great. Because now he's got, you know, not only does he have the
great Sonata under his little spell. Now he's got manic too. So yeah, that's what we're doing now.
We're turning him to Bray Wyatt. Because apparently James Storm isn't already a great heel on this
home, which by the way, he is. And he's like in this backwards barn teaching them how to obey him.
Oh, geez. I'm like, you know, I don't drink, but sometimes I understand it.
I was so disappointed by that. So we have some news on the Smackdown Front. As I explained to you
last week, Damian Sandal was now the Mrs. Duhbel known as Damian Mizzal. Oh, God. They are talking
about bringing NXT's Tyler Breeze in as well. He's got kind of the same bid as the Miz, but perhaps
a little more beaver-esque. But they're talking about turning this into like the Miz's on Taraj.
Why can't we just let the Miz wrestle? He's already shown that he can go since he came back.
He went somewhere and learned how to wrestle. Because they do can go now. Yeah. He's so
know that we need this. But that's just me. One quick note from Smackdown,
you might want to get your recorders ready because you're going to hear me say something that I've
never said before, and I may never say again. Oh, I like what they're doing at the San Francisco ballpark
there. What did I say? Great. Great thing. By the way, the intro, so then I football now the
carry our underwood. Keep forgetting to mention two weeks ago. She mentioned that she and her husband
are expecting their first child. Yes. So congratulations. Oh, we did. We did not. Okay. So
something that you may know. Oh, and look who's sick of the National Anthem. Pat Montahan from
Train. Let's be careful. Well, they're in San Francisco. They're from quote of the week goes to Zeb
Colter. You've never heard me say it. You've made never hear me say it again. Bo Dallas is cutting a
promo. And he tells everybody to stand up and put their hands over their hearts and Bo Dallas is
well, well, I mean, Zeb Colter goes, whoa, whoa, whoa. He goes, Bo Dallas. If you're America's
sweetheart, then I'm Ariana Freaking Grande and I don't even know who that is. I stood up with
this little golf flat. Well played, sir. So yeah, that's funny. That was the only thing I got from
SmackDown. And by the way, I did get through both shows yesterday. I did watch RAW on Monday night
because I knew what kind of a week we were going to be having. So there's that.
All right. Oh, I'm in the wrong place right now. Let me get to get myself caught back up here.
You're always in the clubhouse live every Sunday nights. Again, next week is
night of champions. We will either be doing the show live from here in the studio or from an
undisclosed location or Fox and Hound. Keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook feeds look up
Facebook, the clubhouse podcast with the word podcast on it's something completely different
and on Twitter is at clubhouse show. We will keep you updated on that. It is now time for in memoriam.
We have two in memoriams to do this week. The first one probably a little bit more well known.
Don says you had to get through a half a bottle of jack just to get through impact on the other
half to get through Smack. Did you didn't save none of that for the Steelers game?
Ooh, I see that's your boy. That's your boy just did that to you.
Richard Dawson Kiel born September 13th, 1939 and passed away on Wednesday of this past week.
You may not know the name but you would know the face. He played one of the very few people
that was a recurring bond character that wasn't bond proper. I guess you could say that wasn't
M or Q or money penny. He played jaws into bond films. The spy who loved me and Moon Raker.
He was the character that had the metal teeth. That's why they called him jaws.
He was also in the bond video game everything or nothing and in cameo is in many other
bond games. He was also in the original version of the longest yard. Silver Street,
410 from Navarrone, pale rider. He was also in happy Gilmore. I thought a lot of people would know
him currently from him. He also played Dr. Megalito Lovelace's assistant Voltaire in the first season
of the original The Wild Wild West. Really? That was born and Detroit. He was 7 foot 1.5 inches tall.
Had two different wives married a fate Daniels in 1960. They divorced in 1973 and a year later
he would marry Diane Rogers, who would say his wife for the rest of his days. He was of German descent,
made his acting debut in 1960 and a Laramie episode called Street of Hate. He also acted in an
unair TV pilot featuring the Phantom where he played an assassin called Big Mike.
I wonder if Peter knew him? It's possible. I mean you would think that their paths would have
crossed at some point at a at a at a at least at a convention. Yeah, just you know, fellow fellow big
guys in that particular genre. He worked numerous jobs for acting including a nightclub
balancer and a cemetery plot salesman. He was a nightclub balancer. 7 foot 2. I'm avoiding that
his first film was in the early 1960 with a B movie called E. E. E. G. A. H. 1962,
which would also be featured on Elvira's movie McCob and Mystery Science Theatre 3000.
He wrote co-produced and starred in a family friendly movie called The Giant of Thunder Mountain.
I think I remember them. He was also the very first episode of The Man from Uncle.
He and Schwarzenegger were the original choices to play the incredible Hulk before for a
ring of God. Really? So let that settle into you. I don't know if I could have seen him as Hulk though.
So I mean he was a great guy by all accounts. I mean I have so many I've seen so many pictures
on Facebook of him acting like he's crushing people's heads like he did in the movies.
He will definitely be missed and also another person that passed away this week
that maybe a lot of people would not know who he was unless you're a fan of professional wrestling
was Sean O'Hare. Born shot that was actually his actual name Sean Christopher Hare. Born
at February 25th, 1971 he passed away last Monday. Six foot six to 70.
Actually went to the WCW power plant. Do you remember his very first tag team partner?
Sean O'Hare. I should. Junior June 26, 2000 on Nitro. He was 29 years old. He and Mark
Jindraq. Oh God. Remember they were the big tag team. They differed to filthy animals right
Mr. Junior and Hube and Tudorgarera. He kind of just he was more of a journeymen than anything.
He never really got a huge push. He did do some work with WWE as part of the alliance during
the invasion angle. He tagged with Chuck Palombo at that point. He just kind of floated around.
But he really had a good look. He could go. But he never really got into a gimmick that worked
for him I guess. He was just kind of one of those French performers. But he was a guy we knew who he
was. When the news came down we knew who had passed away. So Mark Jindraq, Sean O'Hare,
you will be Mr. Sir. Let's now get into a little bit of movie talk as it is time to talk
box office numbers. From our friends at box officemojo.com, a little bit of movement out of the
top 10 this week. When the game stands tall drops from 8 to 11 making $2.4 million dollars.
Four weeks, $26.6 million dollars, $15 million dollar budget. I think this will do much better
once it hits DVD and blue right because it is a faith-based film and yeah I don't know a lot of
churches that will feature that. And dropping from 6 to 12 the found footage feature as above so below
2.1 million dollars, 3 weeks, $19.1 million dollars and Lucy drops out of the top 10 from 10 to 13.
But it's made $124 million dollars on a $40 million dollar budget so they're doing okay.
10 to place this week dropping from 9 to 10. The Oprah Steven Spielberg opus,
the 100 foot journey, $2.5 million, loses $224.00. What the heck?
What's going on over there? Sorry about that. Were you watching a
ballie wood feature? What's going on over there? It's like a video that just started to
activate itself on my Facebook dime. Where was I? 100 foot journey, it's made $49.4 million
on a $22 million dollar budget after five weeks, six weeks, six weeks, dropping from 7 to 9 this week,
giving you some other stuff out of me. $2.7 million dollars for a five week total of 41.3 million dollars
on a $25 million dollar budget dropping from five to eight this week, the Pierce Brosnan vehicle
the November man, $2.75 million dollars, $3 week total $22.5 million dollars. I do not have a budget on that.
The because our kids are depressed enough drama if I stay drops from 4 to 7,
$4.1 million dollars for a week total of just under $45 million on an $11 million budget.
Not bad. Well, it'll get more on home video too, so make up for all the promo stuff too,
because that they were promo in the crap out of that. And they were a couple of years after even
that. Day viewing at number six this week, Tom Hardy, James Gandalfini, the drop,
4.2 million dollars do not have a budget on that dropping from the bronze metal to fifth place
is let's be cops, $4.3 million dollars for a five week total of $73 million dollars on a $17 million
dollar budget dropping from the silver metal to fourth place this week, teenage mutant ninja
turtle, $4.8 million dollars loses 316 theaters, but it's down $181 million dollars.
Both your gold and silver metals are debuts, but in the bronze metal dropping from
from the gold metal to the bronze metal this week guardians of the galaxy $8.404 million dollars.
7 weeks $305 million dollars could not be happier about that. Day viewing in second place
dolphin tail two because there were so many unanswered questions from dolphin tail.
16.6 million dollars 36 million dollar budget I think it's going to be okay. Yeah.
Don says he saw the number one at the box office, which this week was the Idris Elba vehicle
no good deed makes 24.5 million dollars budget 13.2. God. Don said he saw it started okay
and flattened out he would recommend it when it comes on cable. Okay. I'm a big fan of the Idris Elba.
So I'm a fan of both them and him and Terragep and by the way Guardians does cross the $600 million
mark worldwide. You'll get there sir. I promise. So I read this next story earlier in the week.
I think you and I were hanging out and I told you and you and I'm sorry what brand new sci-fi
movie coming out called Andron a and d-r-o-n. It's about a bunch of people who wake up in a maze
that they have to get out of and the world is watching. It's like they're running man. I guess
meets the maze runner. Okay. Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover. Put it in your androle.
Really? I'm going to be here. I'm going to be in this maze. I'm going to talk like this
to the entire movie. I mean I like Alec Baldwin but sci-fi?
Well let's see. Has he ever been in that genre? Nothing. I'm aware. I did the shadow.
I don't count that. You have to. It's horrible. But it's still in the discipline. They used the
same knife that used the golden child. I'm just saying. I'm not saying it was a great film but
it's not like he's a stranger to the genre. I'm the shadow. I think I like if I can't get willar
net for the Lego movie to let him play Batman. I'm Batman. Just saying. So we talked a few weeks ago
about how Disney isn't is only going to let go of Frozen when you let it go. They're called
dead hands. See what you did there. Yeah. Epcot. If you've never been to Epcot Center in the
Buena Vista Park in Disney World, there's two sections to Epcot. You have future world and then you
have World Showcase. Future world is where most of the rides are. Future Showcases they divide
half the park into 11 or 12 segments and each segment is its own country. And the
cool thing about it is there are people that work in those countries are from the countries that
they represent. Uh-huh. In Norway, they have a ride called the mailstrom. Which is really a
dig. I really dig that right. Not anymore. It will now be a frozen attraction. Because Frozen
takes place in Norway. True. So that's what they're going to do now. So they're going to gut it or
they're just going to put out frozen. They're going to gut it. Because the mailstrom is going to
creep. It was a boat ride. Yeah, it was a boat ride. You had an encounter with a Yedi. If I'm not
sure. No, that's Everest. This is where you had the account with like the sea
serpents and stuff. This is like the Viking thing. Yeah, but I could just want you to get like
some sort of an encounter with those with a snow creature. And you almost back out of the ride.
Like you literally see the tail limb of the boat. If you're walking around the world showcasing
you look up. You'll see the tail end of the boat poke out of one of these little roe. Yeah.
Hmm. So I don't know what I found creepier that or dinosaur. Because dinosaur was creepy.
So it was loud. It was incredibly loud. We went there like right when it opened.
So that is going to be happening. I just man. I've got to just not be the target demo
because I don't get the frozen thing. I just don't. I enjoyed it. I just understand the
the legs that that song has. Just seriously. Let's get into movie new releases and places
that you see movie new releases in place that you see them. Opening this week, a movie that we
didn't get to screen because we were at a different screen this week. Movie called the guests with
Dan Stevens, Sheila Kelly and others. A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family claiming
to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home,
a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence. Kind of like the no good
deed thing. Yeah, but I don't think but without the military connection.
Also coming out this week a movie called the maze runner. Dillon O'Brien, see there's any other
names that are recognized in here. A bunch of kids with the clothes in the hair pretty much.
Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased. Soon learning
their all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow runners for a shot at
a scape. It looks like the I guess maybe the Hunger Games meets the running man.
It meets Pac-Man. Yeah. So we've actually we're going to be splitting duties at night.
Down's going to be screened at this week. And I'll be at a different one. So he's very excited about this.
Modern day, Labyrinth, running from the minute or two. But I believe this is another one of
those series of books that the kids are really into. And it's also kind of ushering in a new theatrical
experience depending on where you see it. Correct. With that new format that what is it called?
The XD, something like that, whether your field of vision is greatly expanded on either side,
it's almost a wrap around screen. Also releasing this week, we referenced this earlier in the show
because we just if you missed it earlier, you're going to want to go back and listen to
the interview we had with Nick Gibbons, a friend of his that has one of the testimonials for his show
is Ben Schwartz, who is actually going into a new movie this week called This Is Where I Leave You.
Jason Baitman, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Adam Driver, Rose Burn, Connie Britain, Timothy Olda
fan, Dax Shepherd, basically everybody on IMDB. Yeah, when they're, you are killing me, dude,
trying to get up to stop. It's like a, it's like a, we're having a bollywood invasion.
I don't know what's going on. Oh, I know, I know how to fix this. Uh, mute the computer.
Oh, when their father passes away, four grown siblings are forced to return to their childhood home
and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their overbearing, oversharing mother
and his sort of spouse's exes and might have been. This is kind of like an uptown version of
August, Osage County is what it was like to me, but I'm very fascinated. I do want to see it.
So, and you know, I'm a big fan of the Tina Fey and the Jason Baitman. Yeah, so we're good there.
Also, a movie called A Walk amongst the tombstones with Liam Neeson, back in taking mode again.
Private investigator Matthew Scudder is hired by a drug king pin to find out who kidnapped and murdered
his wife. David Harbor is in this. Have not heard anything out of him in a while.
That's really the only right name I recognize in this deal. Also,
tusk releases this week. I would tell you what I would think, but then you wouldn't go check things
out in iTunes. Just saying. Coming later, this was it? Yes, Dawn. Don't talk about there's a new
AMC opening. I do know about that. That's actually sitting right behind the look. So, there's that.
Tusk, Justin Long, Michael Parks, and others. Have your iTunes ready. Come Friday. If you want
to know, we thought it's a new film directed by Kevin Smith. Also, the zero theorem. What do you
know about this, sir? The zero theorem? Nothing. This is the brand new movie directed by Terry Gilliam.
Christophe Volts, a Melanie T. Erie, Gwendolyn Christy. She, you know her from Game of Thrones,
Rupert Friend, Lily Cole, Peter Stormare, Ben Wishaw, Matt Damon, till the Swinton.
A computer hacker whose goal is to discover the reason for human existence continually finds his work
interrupted thanks to the management. Namely, they said a teenager and lusty love interest
to distract him. It's Gilliam. Do I need same thing? Yeah, you know what you're getting.
Yeah, you know what you're getting there. Also, a movie I am very, very, very interested in,
called Hector and the search for happiness. Simon Pegg, Rosemann Pike,
Veronica Ferris, Adam Michael, Adam Thwait, basically a psychiatrist, searches the globe to find
the secret of happiness. And the psychiatrist is being played by Simon Pegg. And the trailer
looks hilarious and endearing at the same time. My favorite part of the trailer is he's talking
to one of his fellow doctors. And so where do you think you're going to start? Because I'm thinking
China. And you, it sounds like a gong goes off, but you think it's like a background thing,
but they all start looking around like they heard it and they looked at them. A guy's dropped
a serving tray on the ground. You know, I'm a big Simon Pegg fan. I love Simon Pegg.
Big fan. I've still got the end of the world sitting on the plane. Oh, world in.
Because you know, Rosemann Pike isn't that with him. I like her too. She plays his
his lady friend that maybe doesn't want him to go do this thing. Because he goes all over the world.
It looks like a really, really good movie. I'm hoping we get to see it as well. And also something
called Space Station 76. Have you heard of this? No. Oh. See if I can find this yet. Patrick Wilson
lived Tyler. Marissa Cofflin, Matt Bomer, Jerry O'Connell. It's basically, it's a 70's sci-fi movie
that they're shooting today. Okay. A 1970's version of the future were personalities and asteroids
collide. It looks hilarious. Because you remember we had that after Star Wars hit, we had that
just invasion of bad sci-fi. And I think that's what they're going for. That will be on the stars.
I don't know. Well, I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just it. You have that glut of stuff. Yeah.
So it looks really, really good. If I can, if I can find some of the check it out, check it out.
DVD and blue right new releases in places. You get DVD, blue right new releases this week.
Go she run. Yeah. You really? So you didn't see it? Yeah. And it's that bad. He's at it for
10 minutes. Yeah. It's like on the thought. Also, a movie with it for the kids at the close in the
hair, the fault in our stars. Which the kids are loving, the director of the writer is a really,
really cool guy. He's been on B&C more than one occasion. Arrow season two as we get ready for
Arrow season three out on Blue Ray and DVD this week. A racer had the original version
gets the criterion collection treatment this week. What's again? David Lynch,
completely screws with your head. Here we go for another one of my movies. Is that close?
Yeah, ballpark. Think like a man too. In case you were the one of like people else in the
studio that didn't catch that in the theater. Spartacus, the complete series. They're putting
it all together in one blue ray or DVD set. Good lord. And there's going to be a limited
edition where you can get a statue at with it too. That's a whole lot of Spartacus. And that doesn't
include the film. There was a young lady this week on, or I was watching one of my shows,
who I was like, who is that? Red hair. And I looked her up and she played Spartacus's dead wife.
And she's local. Oh, is she really? I don't want to say she was a
correct. She was a range erratic. She was. You are correct. I did see that. And
Somerslam from 2014, if you are that much of a complete us in need to own that or a
massacist. It's time for tech corner. Money has been deposited. Things have been reserved.
Probably not this week. But the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 plus are coming 25 cent, 25%
better processing chip than there was in the iPhone 5 C or 5 S. There's the 6 and the 6 plus.
The 6 is going to have a 4.7 diagonal in screen. The plus will have a 5.5. You have the 1632.
There's it 32 64 and 128. I at some point will be the proud owner of an iPhone 6 plus 128.
And boy, the it may be Thanksgiving by the time it gets here. But money has been put down.
And the hatred online that's portrayed in the commercial campaign that's trying to counter it by
by the galaxy note that we've been doing this for two years blah blah blah blah.
Everybody made fun of us when we did it. Now Apple's doing it in apparently
invitations. This is serious point. It's like political ads. The day Friday when
pre-sale started, it crashed Apple's site. This will be the best selling iPhone ever.
Now if you are, if you are one of those is going to wait and in line for it, it drops this Friday.
And Apple also announced the Apple watch will be out next year. $350 retail price on it.
Don says it's not fully waterproof. I'm not going swimming with the thing with the phone or the
watch. The watch. Okay. It won't be out till next year. But I'm kind of interested, but I'm kind of
not. I mean, I'm going to have to have a metal band. Wait, because I can't. I can't do a leather band anymore.
Or even like a like a swatch type band. It's got to be a metal band. But I did see somebody because
you can customize how the watch looks, the watch face, and somebody had his look like a Mickey watch.
So I can have a new Batman watch. I was also talking to the young lady at the 18th. So I want to
set a shout out to Nikki at the 18th story in the North Park Mall. She was amazing.
She really, like she spent like a half an hour with me walking through. Because I told her how much
how much we were paying on a month. She was no, no, no, no. No, we're going to fix that. That's amazing to me.
That's the customer service. She really was. And I made sure her boss was one of my old
regulars at the sports bar. I used to work at. I made sure he understood that she was amazing.
She truly was. And I'm going to be going back to her this week for some more services. I think we're
going to go digital life. Good. So Don says, um, there'd be 16 and 64, not a 32. So 16, 64,
128. But we were talking about the watch. She's got the the Galaxy watch, which has four gigs of
storage in it. So if if the Apple watch has storage in it, you know, I could just put my gym playlist
in the watch. And then I put that with with Bluetooth headphones. And that's all I'm carrying at the gym,
which I think, you know, I'd still need more than four drinks. But still,
and we were talking about that. The range of game yesterday and Dave was like, you have 32,000
tracks. What could you possibly? Yes, and you don't know what I might go for is going to have to run
across country a bunch of times. You don't know. If I know you, you're just going to be listening
to the podcast of the day. That's what I do. But I do listen to music. Like I listen to music at the
gym. If I'm caught up on my podcast, I will listen to music at the car. Or if I'm at work sometimes,
sometimes I listen to music. And sometimes it's, I won't. It's, I don't know, depends on the
day. And just do your workout playlist and your podcast. I think you're fine. But I think that
I think that would be kind of fun to have that, you know, had the music in the, in the watch.
And then I don't have to carry an iPhone or an iPhone to gym. I mean, because I see people with the
gym and they watch like movies and stuff on their eyed devices. And I'm like, no, there's TVs.
There's just 12 TVs in the wall. And you never listen, you never answer your phone or you're
working out anyway. No, I do not, sir. Well, that would kind of kill that temptation. Well,
I would, but usually like, I've had, there's been times where I have taken my phone with me,
because I'm listening to, to B&T. And I just download it from the website and listen to it. So,
I don't get too far behind on Bob and Tom. But if my phone rings, I just let it all the
voice now. Now, well, the watch link up with the phone and can you have to, you have to own a phone
at least a five, I think. The five is the minimum. You have to have it. It has to sync with the phone.
Okay. You can't just own the watch. Because that's not the point. It's just kind of like the,
the galaxy watches the same way. You have to have the phone. Okay. I thought maybe it might be
something like an iPod touch that you were in your wrist. But I was talking to one of my co-workers.
And he has the, the galaxy watch. And his actually works as a pedometer and stuff, too.
So, can track how how much he's walked every day. Things like that. Which, you know, I get that.
But I just, I wouldn't want to get text messages and stuff on it. I just, that doesn't, I can look at my phone
for that. We truly are in, in, in Dick Tracy World now. It's cool. I'm going to, I want to,
the only thing I'm not on board with is, um, the, uh, the Apple Pay.
I'm still not convinced that that's a good idea yet. Apple Pay. Um,
basically you put your, uh, your debit or credit card information into the phone. And then you just,
like, tap the phone up against the thing. I'm that's how you pay. That's a little creepy for me.
If you don't, I'm talking about. Yeah. I just don't know if I can get into that.
But it all, it all, it all happens this week. I guess it for me. It's, it might be Halloween or
Thanksgiving before I get mine. But I'm okay with that. I'm not really worried about it right now.
You've got to, you've got to working phone as it is. And I'm going to get a heck of a credit for the
phone I've got because my phone's in really good shape. Because I've had a case on the entire time I've
owned it. So as soon as you get the new one in, you just got to send that one back to him. No, no,
I'm taking it to the store. Oh, okay. As soon as my phone gets delivered, I'm taking this phone
to the, the AT&T store and they're giving me a $200 credit for nice. As, as a, as a four S.
And I, they said that I can use the credit for my bill or for accessories. Well, I'm probably
going to hold on to it and buy the watch with it. There you go. That's two thirds of the cost of the watch right there.
So shout out to the people AT&T store and Nicky did a great job. I'll be coming back to see you this week.
Street light is on unless you've got anything for tech or no. Go for it, sir. We send every show
with a list of this week is no exception. I get to do the list this week. And I thought this week
we would do 10 things, 10 odd things that annoy me. I don't think we've done this list before.
There's some things that I think that annoy me that maybe don't annoy a lot of people.
And there's no explanation for it. It's just, it's my list and he'll go pound Sam. So number 10,
not holding a door right there with you. If you see somebody coming,
especially if it's a lady, I mean, regardless of gender and mind, hold the door for somebody.
I agree, but especially for a lady because or somebody that's of an older generation,
you hold the door. This happens to me a lot at work. Don't let the door smack me.
When I'm walking out and I'm right behind somebody and they don't hold the door. I'm right here.
You know I'm right here. Yeah, you saw me. Don't act like you didn't.
And if you're within striking distance, I'll hold the door for you. But if you're at your car
and I'm at the door, you can get the door. Yeah. But if you're, you know, 10, 15 feet out,
I'll hold the door for you. It's just polite. Don't let the door close in somebody's face.
I mean, let's the door was going to be closed for like a good five seconds. But by the time they got to it,
I didn't catch it. Yeah. What I really dig is when when kids hold the door.
Could you just want to look at their parents and go, you're doing it, right? Yes. Yes. You know. So there's that.
Number nine. Celebrities trying to tell me about politics. Hold your shot up.
All right. Shut up. We're talking about Bono early. He was one of the world's best.
The one thing I'll give Bono is he actually puts himself out there for the charity work.
I don't need Ariana Grande. Tell me who to vote for. Okay.
What is what the only area of the Grande reference? I don't know. Is it Ariana Grande night?
I still find her creepy. I'm just saying.
Number eight. Drive through interruptions. Let me give my order and then you can talk to me.
Okay, I was wondering what you meant by that. It's like I like a number one shot up.
Now if I finish my order and there's something missing ask me about it. Let me finish.
Let me finish it. Can't finish. Can't finish. It's the craziest thing.
Don't you like that man more? Shut up. And I'll tell you because I have a plan.
So you know, let's you finish, but the guy before you had the greatest drive in order of all time.
Wait, why? It's a Kanye moment. Shut up.
And if I say I'd like this to sandwich by itself please would you like that in the combo?
Shut up. What did I say? What did I say? It drives me insane.
Number seven. A lack of Bluetooth in people's lives.
Hmm, hands-free devices are fairly cheap now. And I'm not even talking Bluetooth. I'm talking.
You get the little pair of headphones that has the little inline microphone. You plug it into your phone.
If I'm driving down the street I don't need to see you hold your phone up to your head. Yeah.
Now couple with that other people that put both ears in because that's illegal. Yes, that is illegal.
But put one ear in preferably this side that has the microphone on it. So I don't have to see you holding it up.
Because that kind of defeats the purpose. That cracks me up.
Or I really hate it when they're like, they hold the phone. I don't know. And when they talk, they hold the phone down.
I'm trying to make it different. I'm like you're getting ready to buy the pop tart.
Get a hands-free device because in some places it's it's a findable offense whether it's a I've seen cities where it
doesn't matter if it's a school zone or not. You don't have a hands-free device. You're getting a ticket.
Yep. As well you should be. I'm just saying.
Number six negativity on social media. This this is a new fairly new phenomenon for me. I don't know why it's now annoying the crap out of me.
But it does. Nobody needs to know about your personal drama.
If I got personal drama, there is a very short list of people that I'm going to talk to about it.
You know, you're on that list and a couple other people really know if I'm frustrated about something or if something's going on in my life, that's negative.
Right. I don't want that out there for God and everybody to see. Because there's nobody's business. But yours.
Shut up. And they wonder why people will like avoid them in social circles.
What is that? And it's like and all of a sudden something goes wrong in their life pertaining to that and they don't know how it happened.
Go read your feet. You're more on. You're the animal controlling that sucker.
Read your newsfeed. You might have seen it coming because the rest of us did.
Yep. From a mile away. Don't thrust your crap on me.
Don't make your problem my problem. If you want me to help you with a problem, we can talk about that offline.
That's all I'm saying. I'm not about to discuss it on an open forum.
It just it wears me out because there's no keep the negativity off of it.
You should be using social media to lift somebody up. Now if you have like a horrible experience like a customer service thing,
I get that on a certain level that you want people to know. Hey, look, avoid that place. Yeah. I get that.
I'm talking about this. I'm going to get specific and I can't do that.
But about the same token. If I do put something like that on there, then I feel like people should be made aware of.
Don't come on my page and tell me what I can and can't say exactly. Yeah, you don't like it. Go away.
Yeah, you need to keep this kind of stuff on Facebook. What are your mom? There's certain people that I'll read like the first two lines and then I'll just move on.
Yeah, because I know I know whatever comes after that can't be good. You know the next float in this parade because you've been moving.
You've been on you've been on the street watching the parade too many times. And if I put something out there
It's not your responsibility to take shots at it, right?
You don't agree with it. Move on. Yeah, just it's cute. And the same could be said of me. If I don't agree with you what you're typing, I'm going to move on.
But there's just no place for it. No, it's not.
Number five, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Just in general.
Either way, he won on you. And if it's the season last night, I don't agree. I didn't watch the fight, but he needs to lose happy day.
Number four, too many selfies. I think there should be a federal limit on how many selfies you can take in a given period of time.
Oh, man, we could do a whole segment just on this. Like we know what you look like, dude. Seriously. Like
And there's something intrinsically goofy about how every picture you're phones in it. Yeah.
When I really like most phones have a front and back camera on them. So you don't have to take a picture in the mirror. No.
I really can't stand it when when certain people get blatantly deceptive with their
body shapes how we shall we say. When they'll take a picture in their homeless at my tasty
beverage and let you talk about when they hold the phone about 14 feet above their heads somehow
and makes them look tinyer than they actually are. I'm like, fool, I know what you look like. Everybody on your
friends list knows what you. That ain't you. There's other pictures in your photo. Right.
That are more true. You did not lose. You did not, you not go to the the fat club for women. You know,
and and lose 200 pounds in a fortnight. You know, no, it's chat at the clubhousepodcast.com.
I just stop it. Just stop it. There's I just again. You have a front facing camera. Use it. Or
wait a couple of minutes for somebody else to show up and let them take the picture. Unless you've
had your phone stolen doing something. But just the whole. This is me holding my phone in a mirror.
It just really I know what I look like. I don't need a bunch of pictures. And when you notice that
their profile picture photo gallery is 970,000 images in it. And you know how many selfies I've
taken in the last two years. Four. One was me in Charlotte when we went to the sea
despicable me to one when I was wearing the suit at the deal for the the Dallas International Film
Festival. I took one yesterday in my braves out in my braves jersey. And I took one for the
Super Bowl last year because I didn't have a dog in the fight and I had my Mickey jersey on. That's the list.
Number three, people not fact checking before they report things. Oh, dear gosh. Nope,
dot com people use it. That is that is your friend. If you see something in you go, wow that looks
kind of weird. That check it. Go to snopes and go. Is this thing with this disgusting picture real?
Oh no, it's actually a flower that somebody's superimposed on top of something else. Okay, I'll move on.
Hey, did hey, did hey. Is Danny Glover really dead? You can Google that. Yeah. And find out that it's a
hoax. And also look at the link that it comes from. If it's not a credible source,
do a search on that domain name. It'll tell you what kind of website it is. Or here's another,
here's another thing. You know, if you, if you have any doubts, check the comments below it.
Before you share it on your page. Or the problem is you'll get people that will reprint it,
repost it, and there's no comments. And people say, oh, it's got to be true. No.
Number two, lack of turn signals. Oh god. I don't care if you're turning from a light or you're
changing lanes. Turn signals are a courtesy. They're not inconvenience. There's a convenient little
handle. And if you don't remember which way did to move the little handle, act like you're turning
the wheel. Whichever way your hand would push the little lever, that's the way it needs to go.
And the last time I checked, they're not exactly an option. That's kind of a word that you use.
It's standard. And it's the wall. It drives me insane. And number one, if you're indoors,
much less at night, take the sunglasses on. Nobody's, nobody's that important. I don't care who you are.
I'm amazed at the whole. And I'm waiting for people to bump into stuff and they don't.
I was waiting for the texting in a movie theater to come up.
Got your phone use in general in a movie theater. If I'm nine rows away and I can see your phone
shut it off. Did you shut it off, Perry? Then they have a promo for that at the screening. We went to
where they do that at the Angelica. Yeah. Or like it's, they're playing the Spartma thusula. Like somebody
gets it to, you enjoy in the movie. Yeah, they get the text and it lights up the entire theater. It
looks like somebody opened the argument government. One word, skyfall. Okay. When you actually
had to go get a manager to tell this guy to stop using his phone. I have, I can't remember. Yeah,
I can't actually. The last time I was that ticked off in a movie theater. Jurassic Park 3. Yeah,
fair point. But that's the list. So this is yours next week, sir. All right. Let's do the plugs.
