Life today has a lot different than it was seven days ago, in a good way. We thank each and every one of you for listening. Let's go around the room first of all across the desk for me as he tends to do each and every Sunday night when we do this thing.

Is a man who better have brought a change of clothes within this evening. He is also a producer of this show. He is my co-hostiest chat, welcome sir.

We're doing that after the show. I'm not doing it on the show. What else would we do it?

We get a done up before and then dry the clothes while we're on the air. No. I'm not going to let you be naked in this studio.

That's just creepy. Bringing a change of clothes yet. You never said either way.

That's the bag right here. And in the third chair this evening, right across from me, is a man that will be graciously joining me at the ballpark here in about three weeks or so to see my beloved Braves in town. Friend of the show, good friend of mine.

So it's not like he has to. He drives because he wants to. Right.

This week, oddly enough since we raced at night, was the Irwin Tools Night Race. That was the name of the race. Sure.

Irwin Tools. Yeah. That's not my last name spelled completely differently pronounced completely differently.

Although I had it said that way at least once in my lifetime. Your top 10 finishes are as follows in 10 plays in the number 16 Ford. By the way, NASCAR's website now has the logo for the car companies.

Instead of just saying Ford has a little Ford logo. Greg, no, my family did not invent the backyard game with the plastic that involved Biffle. 9th place in the number 27 Chevrolet.

Paul, yes, my family owns that chain of hardware stores manard. In 8th place. In the number one Chevrolet, Jamie McMurray.

Wasn't he in the Shaggy dog? That'd be Fred. Okay, never mind.

7th place in the number 99 Ford. Carl Backflip Edwards. Your biggest jumper this week.

Finishing in sixth place started in 21st. Finishing in sixth. That would be Ricky Stenhaus Jr.

Starting in fifth finishing in first is Joey Logano. We only have two more races left until the chase begins. So next week we will know who the field is.

We've talked a lot about how the field works. But we haven't talked a lot about how the chase itself works. Chad, are you kind of up to date on this at all?

No idea. There's going to be 16 cars that start the chase. And there's 10 races in the chase.

So every week we're going to whittle down. Two more guys with the last two guys are going to be kicked out of the chase. Until we're down to four.

And those four will race in the final race for the cup. High of spinach or wins. Then they're going to meet in the pit and poke each other with sharp sticks until one man leaves with.

Everybody else is head on a stick. I'm hoping. I'd be cold.

Four men. That's not tough. Watch beyond Thunderdome.

Next car beyond Thunderdome. Tina Turner singing in the background with the Princess Leia buns on the side of her head. I'm good with it.

Grace Dee will be playing at the Texas Christian Biker Festival. It's going to be a good time. Very much looking forward to that.

That they're going to do a female view type show sports discussion show. What does that interest you? Now, there's some notable names involved in this.

And of course, I left the post to know that I had with the other room. But Leslie Visser, I know, was involved in this deal. Even though not a huge Leslie Visser fan, she does know what she's doing.

And some people that have been doing sports reporting for a long time. So this isn't like Julie Chen talking sports. Yes, I would watch it.

It would depend on who the women are that are involved in this. There's Pam Oliver. Get hidden in Facebook.

Let's say Pam Oliver's involved in out. That's only in Fox. That's just unfortunate for Fox.

But as we know, I've said in this show, I'm not a fan of Pam Oliver. Never really have been. I'm intrigued by it.

I would check it out just to see how it works out. I'll go to fair shot. Is it a possibility of them being topless?

You know what? It's CBS. So, remember people want to know if we have black entertainment television.

Why do we have white entertainment television? I've always said we do. It's called CBS.

Oh, my Pam Oliver won't be there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's on Fox.

So, I don't know. I probably not. It's what I would say because it's basic cable.

But, you know, stranger things have happened on live television. I'm just saying. FX.

FX. And FXX, which currently, if you don't know since last Thursday, is on the every Simpsons Ever Marathon. Lovely.

It started Thursday at 10 a.m. central and it will go through midnight on Labor Day. They are showing every episode, including a movie.

Ever. And a marathon. That's too much substance for me.

I like about if I could, I don't know if I could take that. I can go a couple hours on that. Have a little fun with it.

Checking everyone else on. So, we've got news on the flash. Chad, does the name Greg Finley mean anything to you?

He is an actor. He is going to be playing Gerder in the flash. One of the flashes rogues gallery.

He's all a note is Ennis from Teen Wolf. He will be playing Crusher Creel. Also known as the absorbing man on Marvel's agents of shield.

That the character that Nick Nolti was pretty much playing. That got awful angley and credible Hulk. I believe so.

I'm trying to erase that movie from my brain. But I'll go with you on it. But you know what?

Steven Spielberg is working on a television series based on minority report. I never never saw the film. I love him.

I thought we saw that thing together. I read the answer. It's great.

It's good. I mean, it's really good. It's, but it was kind of kind of the start of Spielberg's kind of downward trend where his film just got less and less interesting.

I'm not saying that this was the cause of it. It was right around that time frame. Right around the time he did war of the worlds.

And Tom Cruise started losing his mind as well. Yeah, Tom Cruise. I think that started for a long time.

They fought in a way with the beginning of his dissent into madness. Because remember, Donna told the story on this show that he was working at the four seasons when they were filming that and said that both Cruise and Kidman were just absolute jerks. They're whole time they were filming.

I don't think he had other words for it. But yeah, this is the family from the show. So there's no news as to who would be picking it up.

But I know his current series that he's executive producing a red label society will be on Fox this fall. It's an interesting concept. It's a bunch of kids who are basically ill and they live in a hospital because the red bands are the wrists, the wrist bands that they wear.

They get to really look forward to that too. I'm mildly intrigued. That and that utopia.

It's like, it was kind of like nothing for me. It's got me intrigued. Is that the one with the glass bowl over the top of it?

That's the dome. That's under the dome. Under the dome.

But no, the utopia is basically taking a bunch of different people and they're forced to make their own society. Oh, I remember this. I got nothing.

Is it? Wasn't that show called Survivor at one time? I don't think that's just called Survivor now.

And I love Survivor. But man, at what point do you go with this thing? It's really starting to wear thin.

Because we're doing blood versus water again, which we just did two seasons ago. It makes, it gets the ratings, sir. I literally didn't even know it was still on.

Oh, yeah. But Don says he was actually working at the Rex in Billings, Montana, not at the four seasons when he met Cruising Kid. How about Satan?

You see this ladies and gentlemen, this is what you get when you only watch cable off the internet. You're detached from an actual society. Interesting news coming out of HBO.

True detective was a mid-season replacement show that aired starting this past January. We were expecting season two to be coming in January. Now it's been pushed back to next summer.

Which I will wait. Did you have a strange look on your face? Trying to identify the song.

Called Detective. It's by no doubt. Well played.

It's a deep cut. It's like the set. Right over my head.

Don says Dave, if you do hit a screening with us this week, then he will expect his cheetos then. See, I think you should just stop by seven o'clock and get it back. Oh, I think I'm actually just going to do that.

Here's a 25 cent bag. I don't know, just cost him a dollar. So, if you're a fan of sleepy hollow, which I've heard really good things, but I've never watched this.

My sister's addicted to that show. Hulu Plus has the streaming rights to all of season one. So, if you're a Hulu Plus member, you can watch I am.

You can watch all of season one on Hulu Plus of sleepy hollow, starring the great Orlando Jones. Now my kids got into that heavily sleepy hollow. They watched every episode that is out.

I watched three episodes and I went, it's just that I just couldn't get into it. I just kind of have a bad taste in my mouth after the version that this song comes from. I kind of figured as much.

It's just a Tim Burton debacle. I just, can he stop putting home a bomb car or movies? That's all I asked.

I know he's married to her, but still. Are they, I don't know if they're married or not. They were in the time of sleepy hollow, were they not?

Not that I know, I thought they were. I think they've kind of pulled that Kurt Russell Goldie Han thing, where they've just been attached for so many times. It's common long.

I'm calling it. And fans of Park and Rek, which I know, I know Don is. I know you are.

I'm not. I was out after two episodes of Parks and Rek. Really?

I guess. It was too much, it was like they were trying to be the office. That's exactly what it was.

And I was talking to friend of the show Sarah Sheely last night. And she said the thing is if you get past the first three or four episodes it does get its feet underneath it. But at that point, I'm too far gone.

I've watched at least four episodes that I just. But I know Don's a big fan. Rachel Dratch, who you might remember is Debbie Downer from Saturday Night Live.

She is joining the cast for its upcoming final season. So more SNL alums out there on that show. And at San Diego Comic-Con this year, NBC showed a teaser trailer for something called Emerald City, which is kind of their take on an alternate version telling of the Wizard of Oz.

They have since passed on the show. And Universal says they're not giving up. They still want to shop it around.

But how many different ways are we going to tell the story? Seriously. Did you already know my feeling on a Wizard of Oz?

I'm done with it. You weren't a fan of it in the first place. It's not that I wasn't a fan of the first place.

I was a fan when I was younger. But when I was a kid, it was the one movie they showed on every holiday. Easter Wizard of Oz.

Christmas Wizard of Oz. Thanksgiving Wizard of Oz. Arbor Day Wizard of Oz.

I can second it. And so now you want to keep retelling it? Well, I did like you would like wicked.

I wouldn't mind seeing wicked. My wife read the book and very much enjoyed it. It should never come to Dallas Fort Worth.

There's a greater than zero chance that we would be able to see it now. This is true. I don't know.

But I didn't want to see Michael Jackson's version of Wizard of Oz. The Wiz. The Wiz.

I'm a cow with a little iron. When did that do we want? He was a scared crow.

I'm a scared crow. Shimon, Diana Ross, has no idea. So I wanted to like when they premiered this at San Diego, Calacon.

How many? They got it. Well, it depends on where they showed it.

They showed it in the hallways. You had a greater than zero chance of fruit being thrown at you. But if they just showed it like a booth or something and it was kind of something and passing.

Because really there's only one piece of footage you need to see from San Diego, Calacon. And you can't find it now because they will take you out of the internet. It's not that.

I've heard the theory that they might take that Batman v Superman footage and put it on the Hobbit. But you've got to give me a lot more than that. If you're going to check that out.

Okay. Do we give a credit about this anymore? No.

Not at all. You know what? I watched it last year because they were doing something different where they were having it in Brooklyn.

And it was like on a public street. They were doing a red carpet. That was where the world pretty much got introduced to Ariana Grande who kind of wears me out.

She fell off the stage at some point. I heard yesterday. I don't know.

That's Iggy. Yeah. I can't even remember the last time I watched this show with any interest at all other than just watching the train wreck.

For me, it's, I'm now at that age where I would watch the whole show and go, I don't know how many these people are. Like we know that Beyonce is going to get the video Vanguard award tonight. Other than that, I don't care.

I mean, to me, the argument will always be made. Why would you even call this the video music awards whenever the channel doesn't even show videos regularly. Yeah.

I mean, really if you want to watch videos, you have to watch. I think I know VH1 does. Not even more.

VH1 calls. I don't want to say VH1. Hold on.

Let me finish. I think you can watch videos on either VH1 or MTV at like six in the morning for like an hour and a half. I know VH1 does.

I'm pretty sure MTV does. Because that's when kids are watching videos. Literally got nothing left to put on a TV.

So let's store some videos on it. I just can't believe I've gotten to the point where I'm longing for the day where at least you had TRL. And sure you only got 45 seconds of the video, but you got something.

And most of that 45 seconds was some 17 year old kid going, I don't even think of a Christian award. Yeah. Yeah.

That's all you got. But at least you got something. Even TV has lost its way.

No badly. I can't do the being. I can't do any of these celebrities at all because it's all it's all me.

It's all gotta be about me. And it's it's a waste of time. The Oscars is the only one I give to crash about.

Now that we've started to go to more and more of these musicals, I'm probably going to watch the Tony's now. Just so I'll have an idea of whenever these things come to town. I won't be so completely blindsided.

It's a different point. And not know what the heck people are talking about. You've got a Nordshow tomorrow night that we're going to talk about later on too.

I heard it was dramatic, but I, you know, that it got nominated one. It was like this huge movie. And then I got it.

What did I just waste my life? I mean, even Chris. What's on the only thing I've wasted my life on.

Even Chris Connelly has moved on from MTV. You can somebody call sway and remind him what's on this channel. It just, you know, even so our Curt Loader's going, how far might not look?

Can I distance from this thing any farther? I mean, it's not just circling the drain. It's, it's, it's trapped in the little.

I think we need more episodes of team. Oh, God. See, that's the reason the rest of the world hates us right there.

And I just, the reason aliens won't talk to us. Exactly. They go out.

Nope. Go right by that planet. Trust me.

Oh, the whole planet of LCD. Yeah. It's sad.

I mean, I remember this thing in its heyday. I mean, I remember I remember being glued to my TV in 92, whenever they were showing the 10th anniversary special on broadcast. Yeah.

Yeah. And just being, wow, this thing still kicks. But, but by the time the 20 came around.

And I know that people have pity daddy has his, his own version of it. That shows videos. But it's, I think it's only on files.

Why is it, why is this not a, a viable product? Why are people so afraid, like even when we had the box? That was all done by Colin.

So there's revenue there. Mm-hmm. And I love that.

That was a great, that was out of Miami. Why are we so afraid of a 24-hour-a-day music channel? It was working for a long time.

Paladia does a decent job of it. Even though a lot of that's just, you know, concert movies and concerts. But they still do music.

Still do video blocks. Yeah. What about, is much music still around?

Maybe, maybe MTV will be worried that they'll wear out rap music. If they have 24 hours of rap music. But even, even thusly, you could, you know, you could even do it in blocks.

Hey, you know what? From two to six today, we're going to do all pop. Or, you know, we'll do an hour of art.

And because they had MTV jams or Yom TV raps, which was just a, a half an hour to an hour show focusing on those genres. You know? And it was fun.

It was good time. I just want to know why you know, and Don's, Don has a great point. It says, you know, it's not even about the awards.

It's about who can make the biggest real story or shock value. Case in point last year. Nobody remembers who won best video.

But people sure remember my lease Irish as she wasn't even nominated. Yeah. That's a fair point.

Yep. We saw her. We saw her career take off into the stratosphere, even though it was already going pretty well.

Lady Gaga and the meat dress. We saw Robin thick going to the tank. Right now.

Multiple. I, to me, just somebody pony up some cash and bring back what MTV was. And I would even be my slogan.

Hey, remember when you were this. Yeah. It's sad.

It's really depressing. Because you define a generation by its music. You can go back as far as time goes and you can define a time by the music that was popular.

So it's not like it's not a viable property. That kids would get to not only hear their music, but watch the videos and see their favorite artists. In a time where image is everything.

Why are we so afraid of this as a media? You know what? Actually, I think I can answer this question.

Please do. Because look at any. Look at history channel.

Look at history channel too. Everything is moving on to reality shows. What you see is a learning channel.

Yes, exactly. Now everything's moving on to it. Now it's nothing but porn stars.

And honey boo boo. And don't. That's the fact that that's on the learning channel.

It makes me laugh. So it's not the learning channel. Actually stands for something else now.

I can't remember what is off the bat. The lame channel? Pretty much.

It's just. But that for me. I'm more of the of the subscription of.

Totally lame crap there. Yeah. Let's.

Let's just get on the bike and ride. You know, let's. Let's commit to something.

And and hold on to it. Now, any. They do reality, but they do scripted shows to it.

I've never we seen any as a movie channel. More as I've seen more of just original programming. Like I just finished.

Getting caught up on Halton catch fire. They had breaking bad. They've got the walking dead.

I don't see why people don't see this as a viable thing. I mean. Okay.

That was gonna go on tonight. I just don't understand how you can Judge a video as best music video if you've never seen it. Yeah, because you can't watch it.

I'll watch it. I'll watch you down YouTube I'll just don't be though. You literally have to program your life around when they play videos, which is like you say Once an hour sets your DVR for three to five in the morning on Thursday of an even month when when could you not catch?

You know White's next still the night. You know when could you not catch you know the the MTV World premiere of you know Banjovies new video and it was an event. You got excited about it and you knew when it was coming on the end because I told you They told you when it was coming up so you could set your BCR and you had shows like head bangers ball and 120 minutes and Unplugged like I was okay with unplugged because it was still a music show Yeah, and you got to see the side of an artist that you normally didn't get to see VH one story tellers anyone rock you mentioned trees Rocky entries.

Oh my god Yeah, those those I was okay with because it's still dealt with the music industry I was more than okay with it when I'm jealous of the music thing We know I didn't get to see the band the information about the band. Yes, you know It was like watching liner notes. You know it was like it's still about music It's not about some 16-year-old who got knocked up and and is being overly pampered by her parents Don says the TLC new slogan is now life unscripted then it was live and learn and now it's life surprises It's still in the learning team.

No Learn what not to do so if you want to watch the VMAs watch the VMAs and if you don't just stay with us because we're gonna be more entertaining Anyway, it's all I'm sure I don't say a lot about this show, but we're you know That's already slogan more entertaining than the VMAs Of course, that's more of these more pertinent to subjects matter than the VMAs We literally will not make you dumber. Yeah, I don't know if I can do that I don't know how many will fall off on this thing. All right, gentlemen.

I remember this so I was gonna go grab dinner for us the night before the holiday And I went you know what I'm just gonna go to the honey baked ham store just to see if they there's no way they have anything left But I'm gonna go I want to go any of the honey baked ham store getting a full baked honey baked ham two sides Some of the best buffalo chicken dip I've ever had in my life and Chips for right around 40 bucks. That's not bad really that fed both of us for the entire weekend For 40 bucks And it's really it's not as expensive as people think it is now if you go and you buy a 90 pound ham Bring your checkbook But if you're gonna go get something You know, maybe you have a family of three or four you're not gonna spend a ton of money You might get away pretty cheaply so I'll check out the honey baked ham store there not it They know not endorsed the store, but if they want to please contact on Number eight and you know my first part of this you're gonna hear this and you're gonna go know But I already know about them.

I can't share my own fair golden corral and furs For breakfast I was gonna really disagree with you on on the golden corral trip I can't do golden corral, but on the weekend they do breakfast and the breakfast is really really good They've got fresh fruit. They'll they'll do custom omelets for you Especially first first is what I prefer for the breakfast buffet. Oh, yes, but the breakfast buffet on and it's like what 7 to 10 on the weekends or something 11 I think is it and it's you know, and it's they got like three different kinds of sausage and bacon and French toast and all kinds of stuff Isn't it like 15 bucks a person is only I think it's like 10.

Oh, okay It's not that bad. I like if I've got somewhere. I've got to be early on a Saturday or Sunday I'll go about like Easter When I we were playing out at stroke or so that's where I went for breakfast.

I got about early when I had first breakfast before I went out to the to the to the show Number seven casino buffet I know people I'm not a fan of going to the casino just because I always think about how much money I'm losing But they kind of counter that because they're buffet. Is although sometimes a little pricey They're really really good like I've never been to a casino buffet and went that wasn't very good. I have really Yeah, and Vegas we went to the Luxor at the Luxor really the Luxor is terrible really I've had the one or That was I think it was in Harris that was really good and You could smell the old people at the moment.

Oh, that's a form But I know they've got one. I want to say it's that good. They've got one at the palm that's like 20,000 square feet It's huge.

It's like 20 bucks ahead and they've got an entire wall. It's nothing but dessert And everything's fresh every 45 minutes depending that doesn't matter how long it's full it is They turn everything over every 45 minutes Number six any form of Mongolian barbecue one of my favorite things to do in the world Locally there's a chain called Genghis Grill that I am a huge fan of Love me some again because again. It's only as good literally as you make it You put the you put the the protein in there.

You put the vegetables. You put the starch They just cook it for you and what's funny is like you take you you go for the the bowl You think you can eat which for me is always a medium and you fill it to Ridiculous To the point where you're testing physics Can I carry this thing to the counter can I get what okay Wait wait wait wait Then you start doing your your heel toe walk like you're on a tightrope just to get it to the counter And then you get a two table and you can only eat half of it. I don't understand how they they they have this endless bowl thing where I tried it once and thought I was going to die My friend in the show filled Marna on fourth of July three years ago tried that and we were just like Okay, dude, I just need to like far huge just like feel better Let's see what I'm doing now I'll go there and get the large bowl to go and then I'll have some of it for dinner and then have some of it the next day at work That's what I did the other night.

I've seen them in other places in Texas, but not in Dallas It's kind of like a it's a steakhouse, but it's like like Texas Roadhouse But but it's a little bit more upscale I they haven't been Florida But it's really quality eaten so if you're on the road and you see a longhorn steakhouse Don't be afraid of it. It's pretty good eaten. It's really going to be stupid if you can't find one in Austin I think there is one in Austin.

There should be I think there's one on the north side Number four. It's a place called Quaker steak Lube and Tune. We currently have one in Frisco There's one in Waco I've heard you sing the praises of this place.

It looks it looks like it looks like an oil change place It really does and when you go in there, they've got cars up on jacks and stuff You can order their appetizers just like a side or you get a full-blown Appetizer's like their onion rings come on a car antenna And the food is rock salad. Yeah, I saw like some special some local special on the five best places to go watch the Super Bowl At the last last football season and this place was like on the top won't close to the top of the list It's like in the top three. Please tell me you can at least get your old change there.

I don't think you actually can I think you put a lot of grease in your system.
