It is Sunday, September 21st in the year of our Lord, 2014.
Season 5, Episode 10, numerically number 269.
The clubhouse is live and on the air, live from our studio tonight.
Because it is time for the WWE Night of Champions pre-show, brought to you by the clubhouse
podcast.
We are normally your one-stop shop for all things sports entertainment, but tonight we
are wrestling intensive.
Because it is time to get you ready.
For the unofficial fifth major of the year, we welcome each and every one of you, regardless
of how you're listening, whether you're listening live right here on you stream, whether
you're listening on our archive or whether you subscribe on iTunes, we're just glad
you're here.
My name is Rob, and I'm going to be touching go for a few days.
It's just ticked by our social media fees to figure out what's going on.
Joining me as he does each and every week across the desk is a man who made these little
straightener in his hair.
I'm not real sure.
He is also a producer of this show.
He is my broadcast partner.
He is chat.
I have or I need you need.
I like my disheveled look.
I also did a little research and found out that our Android users can download an app
from the app store called Google Play Store, I guess I should say called podcast Republic.
If you don't have access to an entire Android Republic, you would think.
But they can subscribe to us through that as well.
Outstanding.
If you miss any section of the show, if you can't get to the archive, just get it
from the Google Play Store via podcast Republic.
I'm sure you could probably set it up to automatically download whenever you want as well.
Yeah, that's good news.
Again, we are wrestling intensive tonight, but before we get into that, we do want to
remind you from our friend on this show last week.
Dark Ali producer Nick Gibbons, remember his kickstarter is up for another four days.
He's trying to raise the money for a great show that he's looking to produce about
a family that owns a bowling alley and some nefarious other worldly things going on.
Check out last week's show Nick Gibbons, a great guy by all accounts.
We really enjoyed spending time with him.
We really want him to be successful and we want him to get that thing up and running.
Look up Dark Ali on Facebook and look up for the logo that's got the bowling pins and the
bowling ball on it.
What is his kickstarter?
There's some great perks for the different levels of giving.
We really want to help him get this thing off the ground.
There's only a few days left.
We really want you guys to help him out show some solidarity from the Empire and help
out friend of the show.
Nick Gibbons will remind you again at the end of the show of all that stuff as well.
That kickstarter, you can even get bowling shirts that they're given to, only the cast
and crew.
Don't make one especially for you.
I know friend of the show Kelly Kitchen, she's a, she's gotten to that level.
We are fans of the bowling shirt.
We are so help Nick out.
Please look up Dark Ali on Facebook.
Make sure it's the right Dark Ali with the bowling pins and the bowling ball.
Some great testimonials on his kickstarter from actors and people that you know from shows
like mad men and things and the new movie, this is where I leave you a couple of cast
members from those.
So check that out.
That being said, we're going to get some wrestling specific on you.
We will talk about the week that was in our sport.
We're going to talk about some headlines going on.
First of all, what's talk about what's probably the most pressing headline going into
tonight.
Yesterday, that's the other night of champions.
I like this.
This fits the story very well.
We find out yesterday that Roman Reigns already in Tennessee to promote the paper view wakes
up yesterday morning with some horrible pain.
Reigns up going to the hospital and having emergency surgery on what is being called
an incarcerated hernia that doesn't mean it's on the FBI's most wanted list.
What that means is that part of his intestine has formed a loop around the hernia.
Which just makes out like more out.
Pretty much.
But the surgery was successful.
He will be out anywhere from four weeks to three months.
We're not quite sure yet.
The inside is four to six weeks.
He has thanked everybody for his support.
Word from inside, the organization is saying this will not affect his monster push in
anyway.
The plan is still for him to face Lesnar at WrestleMania.
Just interested to see how they're going to handle this tonight.
Well, I'm glad you said that because one of the theories that I put forward yesterday
is can you put Dean Ambrose back in this match?
Apparently the movie he was working on called Lockdown finished his filming last week
and he's ready to come back any day.
So I honestly believe that he will be on the card tonight.
It makes sense because you've got, but you've got because you have to do something with
Seth Rowan.
Seth Rowan has to be on the card because you don't want to lose any momentum with him.
Yeah.
So be watching the paper view tonight.
We even caught that anymore.
I mean, I guess some people it is, but if you've got your 999 a month brother, is
that how much it costs?
Cause I have, I don't know if definitely talked about him.
Has it gone up?
No, it's a joke, so I, that's all they talk about.
I know.
Now, but for new subscribers, it has.
If you're a new subscriber and you do month to month, it's 1299.
But if you sign the 6th of a month commitment, I think it's down to like 1099, but if
you're like me, if you've been on board since day one, it's still 999.
So, and that will take you all the way through the Royal Rumble.
So there's that.
Also, out of the hospital, we found out the other day, this guy, Rick Flair also having
appendix and hernius surgery.
Dude, Lord, I'm, I'm like, Flair's just now getting his appendix out.
I was assume, I mean, the guy has had surgery on pretty much everything else.
I figured that would have been gone 20 30 years ago.
I would just assume that he was born without one.
So, we're glad Rick's doing well.
Look, I'm looking forward to seeing him back out on the road, as long as he doesn't get
in the ring.
I'm cool.
Please go.
Always good with Rick in a manager role.
Really think him as a road agent would probably be the absolute best possible scenario
for him, especially since his best friend's been doing it for a decade and a half.
And he gets to spend all the time with Aaron, but who would you like to see him, him,
mentor?
For real?
I don't know.
You know, I'd really like to see him, make him the GM of NXT, tell
it let him start fostering these younger kids, maybe so.
Because right now it's JVL and I just don't know how much time JVL is really committing
to that given that he's doing his broadcast duties.
But I'm okay with that.
Let him work at the performance training site.
It doesn't have to go on the road.
He's hanging out in Orlando all the time.
Personally, I wish the JVL would just do that full time and get out from the
broadcast table.
Well, you guys are not going to happen yet.
And they've been saying all week that, quote, the next generation arrives tomorrow night.
Now there are two different theories on this.
One theory is you're going to get some NXT guys coming up to the main roster, and as
long as one of those guys is Sami Zayn, I'm good.
Now, if another one's Kevinstein, I'm even better because the two of them tagged together
in ROH when Sami Zayn was El Jenerica and they were a great tag team, especially
stein turned on El Jenerica at one point, and their feud was amazing.
So those guys work well together.
But the other rumor is it's going to be about 2K-15.
Oh, they're going to reveal the entire roster, which I thought they did at SummerSland,
but I thought they did it already.
But I guess there's more.
You know, that, and Sting has also put up a tweet that says 922 with Showtime.
Oh, God.
I'm just saying.
I don't know.
You just say it's probably the video game.
Well, there's always a chance it could be Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Friggs are going
to show up on the ring side.
Number one, count one, two, three.
That's the best Patrick Stewart I've ever had.
Not too bad.
Not too bad.
Not too good.
I've heard worse.
So let's get in and talk a little bit about RAW from Monday night, since it took me three
days to watch it.
I said, this is all you.
I've pretty, it's sad because I have pretty much bailed on WWE Weekly Programming.
It's, it's, it's, it's become so unwatchable.
Oh, your lack of cables probably not helping either.
I mean, you know, because I know you and I can get together and watch it over here, but
it's just, I can't, I can't bear it anymore.
It's, it's gotten so bad.
Well, Cena is doing an angle where he tells Heyman that, if Brock doesn't show up, he's
going to fight Payman, and so he locks Heyman in this little locker room, and he grabs
Coli to guard the door, and he actually gives Coli the instructions in Poonjabi.
So apparently, Cena's not just studying Mandarin, because we've talked about this show that
one of the things that Cena said on Austin's podcast is he's learning Mandarin because
of the growing presence that WWE hasn't China, like he's looking that far ahead.
Good night.
So, you know, I mean, a lot of people dog scene and a lot of people say things about
seeing them, but you know what, he's a company guy.
I mean, how many people do you, a hogan would never have done that?
No.
But this is a guy that wants to be the ambassador for the company, he wants to be the
face of the company.
And I, that may be some of the problems that people may have with him.
They, they, they see him as a corporate kiss up, but I don't think he's doing it to
I don't either.
Yeah.
Because as much as I hate to say the phrase, it is best for business.
Because when the face of your company can walk into your country and engage, engage people
like that, you know, I don't think Vince made him do it.
I think he said, you know what, then said, you know, we're looking to expand in the
Chinese.
He goes, all right.
Well, then let me do this.
And it helps keep him relevant, too.
Yeah.
So, and it definitely helps keep him employed.
And I would like to send a tip out to the people that produce him in a net raw.
If you're going to do a bit where you have colleague throw your phone on the ground and
break it, just suspend my disbelief and don't have the design of the screen still there
when the phone breaks in three pieces.
Worst prop ever.
It's kind of like when you go to the furniture stores and they have the cardboard faces
of TVs.
That's basically what it was.
Oh, yeah.
It was bad.
And no to creative.
It's okay to simply say half time of the Monday night football game in the beginning
of the show that at half time of the Monday night football game, if Lesnar is not here,
I'm fighting you.
But he said at half time of the show, they're like, oh, an hour and a half.
It didn't happen to the start of the third hour, which would have been half time of the
Monday night football game.
Because if that would have happened at half time of raw, it would have happened 30 minutes
earlier.
I'm just saying.
Also, from a department of I really hope it was booked this way, Cameron is wrestling
Naomi and Cameron's bit is just terrible.
She does the whole split leg drop thing, but the divas are doing now Naomi's on her stomach.
She does the move and she's yelling at the ref to count it on her stomach and the ref's
like you're not pinning her right now stupid.
I mean, I really hope that was like supposed to be part of the bit because if not, she should
have even gone back to the locker room, she should just run out through the crowd and
got in the car and take it off because there's no way you're not either getting your
took his chewed or horribly ridiculed for the rest of the night in that locker room.
That's sad, that's just sad.
And we got all the way through the show, no mention and no appearance by either Steph
or Triple H. When was the last time that happened?
I know they went on their vacation, but they were still mentioned and photographs were
shown on the show. But when was the last time you didn't have either one about either
one of them, especially at a go home show?
Yeah.
I don't get that. Very, very strange.
You were listening to the Clubhouse podcast. We are live every Sunday night, 7 Eastern
4 Pacific. We are normally your one-stop shop or all-thing sports and entertainment tonight.
We are wrestling intensive as we are getting you prepared for WWE night of champions is what
I like to call the unofficial fifth major of the year because every belt is on the line
tonight.
Thank God, as it should be, yes.
Make sure that you check out our website, www.theclubhousepodcast.com, find everything you
need to know with some stuff you don't, like our page on Facebook.
Look up the Clubhouse podcast, put the word podcast on the end or something completely
different.

You can email him, he is Don't The Clubhousepodcast.com.
You can email me with questions, comments, concerns, tell me to go pound sand.
I am Rob at The Clubhousepodcast.com.
I am Chad at The Clubhousepodcast.com.
Charlotte Parker is on Pinterest because we are morally obligated to say that and
Joel's mom is chillin' at the house.
Yes, yes.
Let's get into some impact talk.
Billy Ray, who we're told is on a short term deal right now, at least through
bound for glory, possibly injured himself with the impact tapings.
During a full metal mayhem match against Jeff Hardy, full metal mayhem is just because
they can't use TLC because WWE is copyrighted by that.
Some are saying it might be just part of the angle to get him out, so nobody can tell
the injury was legitimate or not.
I have not seen anything today to tell me either way, but he goes home to develop
its guy so there's that.
Let's talk the impact a little bit because we have to.
We started the show because it was no surrender because they don't do that as a paper
review anymore.
Started with a knockout battle royal for the number one contender ship and Jessica
Havik or they're just simply calling her Havik now.
She started out to match with Madison Ray in going after her and my thought was, is Havik
that tall or is Madison that short?
And the answer is yes because Havik is six feet tall, good lord and Madison is five
four.
I don't mind.
But as we knew Havik did win that match, she's now the number one contender for the knockouts
title.
Well, as of probably three or four weeks ago, but still, that's going on.
And watching this tag team series, the tag team title series with the wolves, the hearties
and the dudlies, which was a ladder match this past week and of course the wolves win.
So now that whoever wins the next match wins the whole shooting match, right?
Memo to Vince McMahon, if there is one reason for you just to go ahead and buy TNA, it's
to write the wrong of not signing the American wall.
These guys are I've said it for literally years on this show because if you remember
WrestleMania, I want to say 29, I said I did a list on this show, the top 10 talent that
Vince has to sign right now and both of these guys were on that list in separate spots.
Any Edwards and Davey Richards, both, I believe Davey Richards was number one on that list.
How he didn't sign them is beyond me.
These guys, you want to talk about a team that could really put the tag team division back
on the map and WWE, these guys could do it, yeah, but especially as well as the Rhodes
brothers are really chilling together, you've got a great tag team in them, you've got
the Uso's.
You're really starting to build that tag team division, do this now, Vince, because back
then, I don't think you really care, it is much about the tag team division, although
he should have.
And in the main events, Bobby Rude versus Lashley for the World Heavyweight title, it
is actually another victory by Lashley.
Even with the last time, you had a heel champion that won the cleanly this consistently,
because really Lashley winning week after week, more often than not, the finish is clean.
There's not a lot in there's like shenanigans in the beginning of the match.
Would you expect he's the heel, but winning cleanly this consistently, I don't know
the last heel champion that won the cleanly this consistently.
Across the board?
Hard to say.
Look maybe, possibly, yeah, either one that would be capable of it, because he really
didn't do a lot of heelish moves close to the end of his matches.
I mean, I could say Lesner, but he doesn't wrestle often enough.
So you can't really, because it's because it's not like Hayman provides the distraction,
but I mean, Lashley is winning consistently, and he's winning matches cleanly, which
I don't know if they're doing that because to kind of protect his MMA career a little
bit.
Lashley's?
Yeah.
Okay.
But no matter what the reason is you're doing it, I'm okay with it.
Because it's really making him a legitimate champion, and I'm okay with that.
Shame he couldn't do that on the other side of things.
On the mainstream side of things, I guess I should say.
Speaking of, I know this is kind of off topic.
Did you know that there's going to be a couple of contestants on the amazing race that
are, I did Robby Ian Brooke.
Yeah.
And there are a couple in real life, too.
Did not know that.
So one of your bromance, actually both of your bromance are now officially a reality show
contestants, because Jesse came from big brother, if you remember.
And also know that what's in a Bethany Hamilton, the soul surfer, she's going to be on
their team.
Yep.
She's Australian, if I'm not mistaken, she might be about, well, I don't know.
I don't remember her, every time I saw the trailer for soul surfer, I never remember
her having an accident.
I'll give you a thought she wasn't strong yet, but I know she just got married.
She's on their way there.
She did.
Yeah, she did.
We are live from the studio tonight as we are getting you ready for night of champions.
Like I said, I said at the top of the show the next couple of weeks, maybe kind of touch
and go, pay attention to our social media feeds that will either be posted by myself
or Chad over the next few days.
Just some things going on that we may have to go on a couple of week hiatus.
We're not real sure yet.
So please just pay attention on those as we fight that we'll let you know.
Yes.
WW2K-15 has been pushed back to November 18 out, it's only two weeks.
Yeah, but they've always made that October target date that's been like etched and stoned
every hour.
I'm still not willing to give up on my hell of a cell theory, which is, that's where
sting shows up.
But the full roster they're saying is going to be revealed on the network tomorrow
and my thought was I thought we did this at SummerSlam.
We talked about this earlier in the show.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Very strange.
I want to say, you know, we've got a lot of news today about people undergoing surgery.
But another guy that would under, under, underwent successful next surgery is this guy.
Sanctino Morella goes under, goes under the knife successfully, sends his best wishes
out to his fans.
Yesterday had next surgery, which he's been putting off for a long time, where glad he's
doing well.
Unfortunately, we're not going to see him in the ring again, but I'd like to see him
back on WWE television in some way, shape or form, because I am a huge fan of that man.
However, on the other side of that coin, we read a report today that was sent to us
by friend of the show, Taz Warl.
Thank you, sir, for alerting me to this last night, as you may know, Olympus get back
on the road.
So there's that.
They were in San Antonio.
And before doing the song you're hearing the background right now, which was the
Undertaker's theme for a time, they dedicated this song to him and said, quote, he's
not doing well.
We don't know what that means, and this came from a fairly credible online source.
The source that Taz linked to is one that's one of the OG wrestling websites.
So if they're going to put it out there, it's, there's something going on.
I've been hearing rumors for different months and different things with the Undertaker.
I hope none of them are true, because we, you know, of course, if we had our way he'd
live forever.
Yes.
But we hope that, you know, Mr. Callaway and Mrs. Callaway, especially our thoughts or prayers
are out to you and hoping that you're doing well.
But that happened last night at the Olympus get concert.
They said that the Undertaker not doing well.
If we find anything out, we, of course, pay attention to our social network feeds, and
we'll put those up as well.
We're going to talk about, uh, Smack just one note from Smackdown.
Michael Cole, Michael Cole, Michael Cole.
End of the divas match.
And I want to, I want to, this is a direct quote, sir.
I even rounded to bring about it to make sure I wrote it right.
Let's not forget, there are three women in the triple threat match.
For you, Yogi Barra, a great day for a night game, wrestling is 50% physical, 50%
skill and 50% mental.
That's what I'm going with, call.
Three women in the triple threat.
I know you say that he's your, your project and you're trying to help him, but there
are lost causes and then there's this guy.
It's not like, I, it's not like I don't like Michael Cole.
He just is, first of all, he is put in an almost impossible situation of having to be
the guy to follow, um, Jim Ross, I, I'm not sure I wish that anybody.
No, I try to walk in those shoes and he's doing, he's doing, like, he's come a long
way.
I don't, I've never liked Heal Cole.
I've always thought that was a terrible bit, but when you kind of let him, let him lose
a little bit and let him have some fun, especially when he and JBL are working together,
it's almost to a point now where kings just kind of like, can I get his line in every
once in a while?
Because JBL and Cole have such good chemistry that I think, for the most part, uh, the king
just kind of rolls with it sometimes, yeah, because JBL and Cole have their own show, so
they're going to have that built in chemistry when they're on air, but three women in
the trouble that match, sure sir, thanks for helping us do magical.
This is the point in the show where we are going to run the card for you.
Now remember, this is not in any specific order.
It's just what I consider order of importance, no pre show match tonight, but we get the
return of this guy's talk show, the peep show returns, Christian hosting Chris Jericho who
by the way is pretty much done after tonight, was he going to go back on the road with
Fuzzy, Karen board, but you know what, two of the best talkers in the business right now,
and a talk show environment, I mean, oh yeah, it's going to be entertaining if nothing.
Did you know I'm a big Christian fan?
Yes, I love him.
And I thought his work, he's one of the guys that I really felt that his jump to TNA
was the best thing for his career, because when he came back to WWE, he was 30 times better
than when he left, and he wasn't bad when he left, but he just was able to refine those little
things that really just kind of put him over the top, and it was just, you know, injury just kept him
out of there. He obtained his ex-factor, absolutely.
I did also, I did love the raw after that survivor series where they made him where the captain
charisma costume. I just really happy. I believe Jericho, I didn't Jericho do that,
because remember it was Jericho's team one, so each one of them got to be the GM of raw for a night,
and I think Jericho's night, he made Christian where the costume.
We have to have to don't check on that for us, but I think that's what happened there.
So let's get to the main card, as Chris Jericho gets out of the talk show seat and gets into the ring with this man.
I don't know what he was saying this screaming, but they're on the way here, they're on the
area. That's why I said almost. Chris Jericho ran the Orton, Orton has to win, because Jericho's
leaving. I mean, that we might thought. Yeah, I mean, I don't know what either one of them
winning does for you on Night of Champions. Nothing. Nothing really. Randy's in this really
weird place right now, where if you put him in the title hunt, it seems kind of shoehorned,
but if you don't, it's like he's floating in the ether, and I don't get it. It's weird to me.
I mean, where do you go with him from here? He doesn't really seem to have a purpose.
I like the guy. I think he's a, I think he's a Hall of Famer. Yeah, but I just, I'm at the point
with what do you, what do you do with him? I don't know. He goes to his phases.
Like, you know, when when he went through that really awkward phase where people were having
to help him with his lines left and right, and, you know, he's, he would miss spots. It kind of
give me spots, too. They weren't anything. Do you remember when Triple H broke his collarbone,
and he was yelling at the ref? He broke my even collarbone. There you go. Yeah, I don't really need
to say anything else. You know, I was going to use it. One of the next wrestlers theme songs
for this next match, but I just, I feel like this is more appropriate. I,
actually, no way to make that. It's not the one we want. Is it?
Rally, Rally, Rally. At least we think of that Starbucks commercial. Actually,
this is probably the one we need, isn't it? This is the one that's more appropriate, because
that was Rocky 3, right? And this was Rocky 4. Yeah, I, the Tiger was Rocky 3.
Mark Henry and Rusev. Is it time for Rusev to lose yet?
My, my thought process is yes, because there's nobody else for him to go through that could wave
the American flag. You had, you had swagger, and then you've got Mark Henry.
Well, but you're also under the assumption that Mark Henry is going to be able to make it through
this match without injuring himself again. He's doing okay, though. I mean, he's been,
he's been back for a while now, but this is where he always gets hurt at the paper.
I just want this thing to finish, so we can go back to tagging with Frenchy,
because we were just starting to see the potential of the two of them as a tag team. But the guys,
he's Mr. Glass. I don't understand it. How, how I got that big, that strong could be that
injury prone. Unless it's just, he's not stretching enough or something. You know, it's,
I don't understand it. I really don't get it. That, that when Mark gets hurt, he gets hurt,
and he stays out for months and months and months, comes back, has two good matches, a paper
of you match, and gets hurt again. It's a psychome. It's like, if, if, if, if that's your pattern,
it's time to hang it up really seriously, because you're doing more self, you're doing
yourself more harm than good, sticking around, because it's not like you're, it's not like you're
healing. Like something you should call their tag team the big shark. The big shark?
Yeah, big show in Mark Henry. I don't know. You could, although you did miss a great moment on
SmackDown Friday night, because Frenchy tagged with El Máredor, a Melmáredoris,
and you know how they do their bit when they come out. They do the Ole, they pulled up the,
the capes and Frenchy came running through. And it was like he was trying to duck up.
My Frenchy, you're not going to get underneath the ropes. I'm sorry, brother. Just run through
and it's fine. Well, if you're going to, if you're going to keep Henry and show together,
Henry can keep himself healthy. How are you not selling the big chocolate bars at the
concession to stay? You have to. You have to. A one pound chocolate bar called the big chocolate. Come on.
And they brought out El Torrito. I'm like, oh, it's El Torrito. She's just saying,
diva's title on the line page versus AJ Lee versus Nikki Bella, because remember kids,
there's three women in a triple threat match. I'm going to say something now and I'm probably
going to regret it later. They put this bell tower, Nikki Bella. I've got to hold not. They do.
I'm telling you they're going to put this bell tower. And what's what's we're going to make
me sad is that's going to push the brief versus Nikki angle and the page AJ thing is going
to fall by the wayside because the two of them are so talented and so great. And enough to take away
from the bell at twins, they have skills, but not on the levels of these two. And I really believe
that breathe from a skills standpoint is starting to surpass Nikki. But that ain't saying much.
Well, they're both good. They both can go, but they're not on the level of page AJ. There's not.
I mean, to me, they've always been eye candy. Not, not not a heck of a lot of skills that
they're not nearly as accomplished as as AJ and nowhere near as a accomplishes page. And I absolutely
expect almost demand shenanigans in this match. Of course, there's no doubt in my mind, but I think Nikki
wins you. But I didn't get your prediction for Rocky for Rocky for yeah. I just I think this is the
night recess loses. Well, but no, I said, well, it depends. It depends on if Mark and Reeves
stays healthy or not, but I think recess loses. But I also think that Nikki, Nikki,
Bella's renewed Dubes champion, sir. It's hard to argue with her logic about it.
I just don't want to see that go down that way because I just don't see Nikki
being a Indian even remotely decent champion. Because it's going to go right into the
Breebella angle page. He'll get her rematch. They'll be shenanigans, Nikki wins, and then hell
in a cell will be Nikki versus Bree. Yeah. Yeah. I'll go with you on that intercontinental title on the
line should be a good match. This to me could be match of the night. Yes. And you you asked me that a
year ago, I tell you you're crazy. I tell you that Ziegler has to carry the match versus them is.
But Miss somehow some way while he was off shooting Marine 74 learned how to wrestle. The
guys got skills now. Now, he'll probably have his stunt double. Damian missed out with him. And so
Ziegler will probably have his stunt double armiz or our our Ziegler apologize. The only way I can
deal with our truth in the ring because it's kind of a funny bit. It really is. I don't know
that you moved the belt as fast because he just wanted the last paper of you. He just wanted
it's summer slam. Yeah. Because I think you could if you book this right, you could carry this
angle through the rest of the year. Yeah. Yeah. At least through TLC. I think they should. I think
they should. And I think this angle needs to have more of a spotlight shown on it because these two
guys can go. Yeah. And consider that they these guys were headlining paper views month after
month after month after month, a couple years ago. Both of them had line wrestle many of them. Yeah.
We need to we need to give these guys the push that they need. And I think and get the intercontinental
back to the respect that it deserves. But it be the workers champion belt again. Yeah.
Everything everything gains from this angle going at least a couple of papers. And you know it's
going to hack me off. Is they're going to lead the card with this. They're not going to put this
deep enough in the card. I don't open the show with this. I think they do that because
if there's any justice in this world, it'll be your semi-main event. But I've just kind of feeling
they're going to start with this because they want to start strong. Even though I think you should
start with Jericho Warden, but that's just me. Start with Jericho Warden and go to Sheamus
Azaro, which is the next match we're going to talk about. Did you get a prediction for this one, sir?
I'm right there with you. Okay. They're going to need to keep the belt. You're not in stage
champion, Jim on the line with an Irishman in a Swiss guy. Sheamus versus Cesaro.
It's potato soup against Asalad. It's a soup in Salad match. It's a soup in Salad match.
Potatoes. I'm I'm copywriting it right now. If they say that on the on the broadcast tonight,
somebody's listening to the show. It's the soup in Salad championship match. How is it a salad?
Cesaro. Oh, that'd be Caesar. That's Cesaro. Take the O-off.
If they say that on the program tonight, somebody's listening to this show.
And I'm taking it to the back. It's a potatoes and cheese match. It's a
O-Cod. It's a vicious warm match. It's a poutine match, a poutine match, a poutine match.
Could such a stand pack of people by a poutine? No, this, this was it. This was it. This was it.
This was it. It was in Canada. It was even better. If it was a Canadian. I just don't know.
Cesaro is due for a title run, but is it this belt? I'm
I'm putting this belt on him. Do you get him stuck in a place where he is? Because if you look at
shameless, since he's won the US title, he's been kind of spinning his wheel. Yeah. And this is a guy
that is a main inventor. Well, look. Both of these guys are. Look at the guys in the previous match that we
just ran down. It's a fair point. It's like that's they're down below these guys now. It's like the
picking order is getting restructured. That's how it looks anyway. I mean, I think Cesaro wins because
you've got to put a belt on him fairly soon, especially since he's broken off from Hayman.
But I just don't know if this is the belt. I mean, I'm going to say Cesaro wins because that belt
has not moved in so long. And it's done nothing for Shamus. Get Shamus back in the world title hunt.
Yeah. I mean, I would love to see a Shamus lesson program. I'm okay with that. Oh dear God.
That would be fun to watch. Just hit wood with something else would have to happen for that to happen.
Tag team titles on the line. Usos. Gold star dust. The dust brothers to the dust brothers.
They're attacking our tag team. I think these belts moved tonight. But I've been saying that for
how many paper views in a row now that these belts are going to move? I hope these two
deserve another run because they're first tag team title run did not last near. What was it?
Two paper views? And it was it's been right. Didn't they win it Survivor Series? Then the
loss of the rumble? I think so. And it was they were they're so good together. Even if I'm not mistaken,
they lost two of the Usos. Yeah, who else would they have lost to? I'm just saying. I think that's
how long the Usos have had the belts. Yeah, it's time. And this is no knock against the Usos. It's just
I love the Usos. I think there are great tag team. These are the guys that you go back and you
listen to the shows. I have heralded these guys for literally years. Why are we not utilizing these guys?
And they're still great. And I have not lost any love for them. But we've got to move some belts around
people. That's why it's not a champions. And the roads boys, they got nose. They've earned their spot.
Yes, especially Dustin. Good life. This is the best run of Dustin Rhodes's career. I'm going to say it
right now. And that is a long career. That man's been wrestling since I was in high school.
And that was a long time ago. I'm not going to pull your card or anything. Oh, I'm afraid
you admit it. I've been out of high school for almost a quarter of a century. And he's in the
best shape of his career, which he attributes the DDP yoga, which is really weird to me. But well,
if it works, man, it works. You know, physical conditioning is one thing, but just the skills.
Absolutely. But Dustin's always had the skills, though. He just couldn't ever see it because he was
stuck in this bit. Well, now they kind of let him take this bit to where it needs to go.
And I mean, this is where he should have been whenever this bit was pushing him to the moon with
Marlena. Well, then you got him stuck with what's her face.
Luna was Sean. That was not a fun chapter. No, no, no, but I'm just I'm just saying as young as he was then,
if he had the skill set and the condition that he's in now back then, he never, he never goes away.
You look at Dustin Rhodes, and you tell me that dude's the better part of 50.
Mm-hmm. It's like when you saw Hugh Jackman in X-Men days of future,
passion like, wait a minute. When I saw a still of him from the first X-Men film, and from this
and you're like, you've got to be kidding me. Those are highway miles. Those ain't city miles, brother.
But just the condition, the cut on that guy. And you, it's kind of like looking at Dusty now going
wild man. You really whipped yourself a dude. Not only, I think, has this part of his career
thrust him into the Hall of Fame. Cody's going to. Yeah. Because Cody, part of me thinks this was
Cody's idea. Because Cody has owned and embraced this thing on a level that I've never seen
Cody Rhodes ever work a bit ever. If he's miserable doing this, it's not shows. There's no way.
He is eating this thing. He looks like he's having the time of his life. So put the belts on those
boys tonight. And WWE and World Heavyweight title on the line again. Again.
Let's ner scene a 79. I'm reading rumors that Cena may win the belt back tonight.
Yeah. Get it off this guy. But if you're leading, I mean, you almost need to move it a little bit
maybe. Let Cena have a run maybe through Survivor series and then give it back to Lesnar to
carry it to WrestleMania. I'd be okay with that. Because I think if if Lesnar carries this belt
all the way to WrestleMania to face Roman reigns, which we know which we've been told from
multiple sources that that's the plan. I just don't know that I'm okay with the title run that
wrong by a guy who's around twice a month. Twice a month. Lesnar again twice a month.
That's what I think. If you're lucky. I mean, he has agreed to do shows as they need him.
But this is not a guy and Hayman's even said that Lesnar's never going to be a full-time guy.
He doesn't have to be. It's not like the guy's broke. No. But again, all the more reason why
there's no reason to put the belt on him. If he's only going to show up two times a year.
I think that you moved the belt to night, but you moved it back. Let Cena have a nice little two
month run. Give it back to Lesnar at the major. And then maybe do your, maybe do your
Lesnar's shameless program from there to the rumble and then Roman reigns wins the rumble
and then you start the road to WrestleMania with those two. That works for me.
I'm okay with that. I just, I don't know that Brock Lesnar carrying that belt all the way to
WrestleMania. It almost on a certain level devalues that belt. It does. But you know, I feel I hate to say
that. But you need that belt to be the centerpiece of your company. And if your champion's not
on your programming, then that belt is not the centerpiece of your company. It's just not.
But that's my official prediction, sir. Again, I'm with you on that. I agree with you 100%.
So we're looking at some belts moving, some belts not moving, which is good. But I wasn't a couple
of years ago that every belt moved on night at Champion. I think so. And it was year before last.
And it, it, it almost looks like the way we're calling it. We got a lot more belts moving than
not moving, which is good. Yeah. But it's not a champions. I mean, all right, sir. As the card stands
right now, now we're, we're tentatively saying Seth Rollins of Dean Ambrose, which I don't know.
I think you, you almost need Ambrose to win this match to light the fire back under that
feud to get Seth Rollins back in the spotlight. But we don't know that's going to happen yet.
We will hear sure. Now if it does, what do you think?
Since Ambrose has kind of been out of the picture for a while,
after the cement block spot, right? He's got, he's got the taste of blood in his mouth.
And I, and that one could steal the card, because you know when the any any combination of those three
gentlemen, they go because they know each other so well and they work together so well. If the
two of them are fighting on a card, you better believe I'm watching. But do we have a clean
ending? Do we have shenanigans? Do we have shenanigans? Do we have, you know, do we have interference
from the aforementioned? Helmsly? I don't know that there's shenanigans. There'll be
canchenanigans if there's any. Canchenanigans. There'll be canchenanigans if there's any.
All right. So as the card stands right now, sir, rate the card. Be plus. I'm right there with you.
This is a really good looking card. This has the potential to be the paper view of the year and you know
what's my favorite? You know that night of champions is my favorite paper view of the year,
because I know I'm getting every belt defended. This is, I thought money, the bank was your
favorite. Money in the bank, it's, it's losing steam with me. This year's money in the bank was
highly disappointing. Yeah. But that gap will punish my disappointment. Oh, nothing. I pray in the
name of all things good and holy that nothing is ever. But this looks like a really good night.
I'm happy to just always a solid card. Every year, when it was here, it was a solid card. You know,
we were at the, we were at the, the Wayne House and the girls were at the arena given us updates,
you know. I'm really, really looking forward to this paper view tonight. I think it's got the
potential to be one of the best paper views in the year. And you know what happens in 48 hours?
I get to get my hands on the best of staying. Oh, that's right. I got it. That is this Tuesday.
Yeah. And I'm very, very excited about that. So be plus on both sides of it. Absolutely.
Don't disappoint me guys. Do not disappoint me. It's going to be, I think it's, I'm very,
we've got some people coming over by the studio now to watch the paper view. Some friends of the
show. The green room is bustling. 999 a month. Unless you have Comcast, Verizon, or Time Warner.
I do want to send a shout out to our friends at Fox and Hound. Talk to them at this week. They're
still working out the technical issues. A lot of great things coming up from them. So keep your
ear to the ground to our friends from Fox and Hound and Richardson texts. Let's do the plugs.
Before we do the plugs, though, I'm going to pause right here. We do want to remind you,
go support friend of the show, Nick Gibbons. We talked about at the top of the show. He was on the show
over the phone last week. Had a great conversation with him. He's looking to produce a brand new
television show called Dark Alley. Go find Dark Alley on Facebook. Look for the logo that has
the pins and the bowling ball. It's about a family that owns a bowling alley and there are some
nefarious superstitious supernatural things going on there. It looks like something we've never
seen before and you know, I'm all about when you bring me something different. He's got a great
Kickstarter campaign up right now. There's a link to it from his Facebook page. Listen to some of the
testimonials from well-known actors and some people that you're going to be knowing very very soon.
One of whom was on this show two weeks ago. He helped him raise the money. It's only up for another
four days. September 25th is the last day you can do this. So go help Nick out. Nick is a great guy.
We loved having them on the show and we're looking forward to having them on again when he gets this
thing going. But he can only do that if you help him out. So go check it out on Facebook. There's a
link to his Kickstarter help a brother. If you're if you're in doubt is it you're in the right place.
You just look for our logos because we're there. We are supporters. Absolutely.
