We're just glad you're here.
Good evening.
My name is Rob.
And it is, as Russell says in the chat room,
it is, the smartest man alive
who is flying by the seat of his pants tonight.
I literally got to the studio about 30 minutes ago.
We'll talk more about that here in just a moment.
Joining me across the desk as he does each and every week.
He is chat.
Good evening sir.
Good evening to you sir.
Nice to have you back in one piece.
Man.
On the road with Grace D today.
My day started at 2.15 this morning.
We literally got back from Gatesville, Texas.
Like I said about 30 minutes.
Traffic coming out of Waco was ridiculous.
It was broken down to two lanes.
Oh, lovely.
Yeah.
And then there was some traffic going through Waco's hatches.
We're going to have our special guest for the week.
Joining us momentarily.
We kind of had to call the lefty.
And I had to go to the bullpen.
But our guest will be here momentarily.
Your lovely wife who's a British sentence.
Also in the chat room.
A special day today.
It is the 40th birthday.
Of a man I've known since I was 12 years old.
He was the best man in my wedding.
He is a new, fairly new father.
Today is Rico's birthday.
Well, happy birthday Rico.
So I texted him early today.
Hope I get to see him here before too much longer.
Hope you guys are doing well each and every one of you.
We've got some stuff to cover.
We got some stuff to cover.
We got some stuff to cover.
We start every show with corrections.
Also we've got some new tech up and running.
So let me know guys if anything sounds out of the ordinary.
We tested the tech yesterday and everything seemed to look and sound okay.
Thank you to the lovely and talented Mrs. Urban for helping me with that.
We only have one correction from last week.
We were talking about Selena Gomez.
And I was saying that the Matt Dylan's in a new movie with her.
It's actually called Getaway.
And then as I say it.
That's meant to work.
It's not Matt Dylan.
It's Ethan Hawke.
It's one of these Ethan Hawke is like a super awesome driver.
And some guy kidnapped his wife and wants him to do a bunch of stuff.
And if he doesn't do it then they're going to kill his wife.
Tell me his wife.
She tries to go.
No, she tries to carjack him.
He's like, I don't think you understand.
You've come into a very bad situation.
I'm sure he didn't say it like that.
But there's that.
I'm thinking.
He wasn't like jackpowering her.
You love coming to a very bad situation.
And I am running out of time.
The man has one intensity level.
Severe.
And that's pretty much it.
Don't mess with Jack Bauer sir.
I'm running a little bit behind on my.
Oh, that was it.
Very, very confused.
And what's going on today?
Trying to double check on something before we get started.
All right.
Let us get started with a little NASCAR.
Today, Chad was the food city 500.
The food city 500.
I believe so.
What do you mean?
There are five of that.
Are we led to believe that's the chain of grocery stores or something that we don't know about in this part?
Oh, no, it was not the food city 500.
It was only the food city 500.
If it was a march.
Oh, what's going on right now?
Oh, yeah, we don't have a degree.
Ground Royal presents the Samuel D's 400 at the Brickyard.
Powered by Big Machine Records dot com.
So your current leader appears to be Ryan.
Hello, Newman.
You're winning.
The winner of the practice race was one Pablo Montoya.
You killed my father.
Prepare to die.
Kurt Bush won the practice too.
And the, of course, Ryan.
Hello, Newman won the qualifying race.
So we'll have to get you.
That race started at one.
It's not over yet.
And it's a 500 mile.
400.
Wow.
It seems to be kind of unstable.
Go back to the home page.
See, we can find some live updates for you.
Oh, we have updated standings.
It looks like Newman did win.
For duty.
Now, I just got a screenshot standing.
So we can't even update the Ryan Newman did win, according to us.
So you're updated sprint cup standings.
Right now your odd man out would be Martin Truex Jr.
He drops one space up to to 11 getting back in the chase.
We like to call him.
Smoke.
Tony Stewart.
Jeff Gordon in 10th case he came in ninth.
You're top eight appear to stay the same.
So.
Well, I'm just all over the place today.
Your next race will be next Sunday at 2 p.m. Eastern on your local ESPN channel.
The go bowling dot com 400 from the Polkanos.
So Andrew's favorite race.
Yeah, oddly enough.
Would have been a perfect queue for him to come walking in.
And that is a triangular shaped track 2.5 miles around it is a super speedway.
I just any kind of a speedway.
Fun.
Don.
Go.
Has joined this official fact checker of the show in the chat room.
Updating everybody to let him know that he is life is back to a 98% abnormal.
You got to check from state for him. Good on you sir.
The glad things are getting better for you.
So again, your next race will be the go bowling dot com 400.
So just go bowling somewhere where they show NASCAR.
No, that means we're probably better off not knowing.
That would point.
The multitasking over here.

We also have fun.
Don.
Go and share the park around Pinterest.
Just having a nice day today from what I read on Facebook.
Nice weekend.
Yeah.
You have a full dance card.
So.
Let's get into TV talk.
We're going to play this song a lot tonight.
Yeah.
So Monday.
I'm in a meeting.
My weekly meeting.
I start my Wednesdays got moved.
My Wednesday meeting.
I moved the Monday last week.
And chat sends me a text.
It was very cryptic because I didn't know.
And what I found out as that conversation went on is on Monday.
We lost the great Dennis Farina.
Who I've.
I'm not mistaken.
I've said on this show is one of my favorite actors.
Yeah.
Huge fan of this guy.
He was.
He was he would have to be turned 70 next year.
That's for 70.
That brother's agent.
Yeah.
He looked really good.
You would know him.
He did a year.
I didn't like his character's name on law order.
Detective Fontana.
I kept thinking he was pimping soda.
Oh dear God.
But he was in films.
Like get shorty midnight run.
He was on HBO's Lock, which is another show that when you decide you want to catch up on other shows.
Watch that on HBO Go.
I loved it.
I'd very much enjoyed that show.
I loved him in snatch.
Yes.
He was genius in snatch.
And he's called Johnny for fingers.
That also did unsolved mysteries.
Was the original Jack Crawford.
That most people think Scott Glenn originated the role of in science of the
Lambs.
But he originated in Manhattan.
Oh, in Manhattan.
I can't say enough good things about this man.
Man was greatness.
He just exuded it.
Served three years in the army.
And then 18 years in the Chicago Police Department's burglary division.
And remember, he also had a really brief appearance in saving private Ryan.
Now that you're making news in the army.
He first began his working show business working for Michael Man as a police consultant.
Well, there you go.
On what advice?
I'm assuming Michael.
And I'll be even before that because Michael Man put him in a small role in thief.
Oh, my God.
Then he would moonlight as an actor in the Chicago theater scene before Man shows him for crime story.
Forgot Michael Man did that.
So.
And then he would pay Albert Lombard on Miami Vice.
And that's all he got the role in Manhattan because Man directed that to.
Mary to Patricia for rena for 10 years.
They had three sons together.
Lifelong Cubs fan.
Pass away of a pulmonary embolism.
But they were also saying like the week before he had just been treated for cancer too.
Dear Lord.
Yeah.
This man will be horribly, horribly, horribly missed.
He's a guy that if somebody said, hey, Dennis for rena is on the Bravo channel.
Read the phone book for the next seven hours.
I would leave the art.
And burning into blue.
Because I loved him.
He was when I got that text from you.
My first thought was, it the next text is RIP.
I'm punching someone in this room.
I don't care who it is.
You all better pick somebody.
And unfortunately.
And that's what it was.
But I didn't punch anybody because that would have been an HR issue.
Oh.
Okay.
And if I get for it, he was in good fellas too.
Was he?
That's what Fondango is saying.
Look it up.
I don't think, you know, he wasn't in good fellas.
Not according to what I'm looking at.
I don't remember that.
So.
You might need to be dark tested.
But sir, you will be horribly horribly missed.
If by nobody else, by this reporter.
I'll write that with you, man.
This is the best I can do.
I'm sorry.
You also might want to let Fondango.
You'll have to spell your reaction.
I believe he's actually been doing it in a while.
Sci-Fi.
Oh, Derek joined us as well.
Derek asked for our conversation last week.
Um, want to let you know we're going to keep the show on Sunday for a while.
So if you want to come do the show, just call it brother.
Sci-Fi has ordered a pilot for a TV series called Dominion.
It is going to be based on a film that came out a few years ago that I kind of wanted to see.
And I've heard good things about but never did called Legion.
The Bettany movie where he was the fallen yes angel.
I will be based on this.
It's going to be set 25 years in the future.
Director and co-writer Scott Stewart is back to direct.
I've heard good things about the film.
I've seen it never as did you enjoy it?
One bad.
I mean, I know that was one of the first things I ever noticed.
Was it a boba boba boba brain situation or wouldn't have bad,
but it wouldn't have good either?
Oh, I mean, it wasn't awful.
Did you see, you saw priest, right?
A priest was horrible.
It was better than priest.
Scrolls mating in a cage for two hours is better than priest.
I mean, I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to priest.
And I was like, really.
I didn't mind priest, but this one was better.
But not by much.
Really.
So if you weren't that fond of priest and I don't think this one's going to do much for you.
But it was one of the first things I ever really noticed.
Is it Adrian Policki?
The girl that was chosen to be Wonder Woman for the TV pilot that never made it to the air?
Right.
She was the girl she was hearing the baby.
She was in G.I. Joe retaliation as well.
Yes.
Playing Scarlet's.
Which was.
I thought she looked great.
It's a redhead though.
She needs to keep it right here.
She's a net.
If I'm not mistaken, she's a natural per net, but she was a blonde in Legion.
And she's a redhead.
She can't pick a color.
Well, she was blonde though.
When they were promoting G.I. Joe retaliation at WrestleMania.
She was blonde?
Yeah.
Okay.
Because she was a per net.
If I remember correctly.
And she was a per net as Diana, obviously.
Girl changes her hair color more than just by anybody on the planet.
Outside a Nicki Minaj.
Take a sip of my taste.
I got to give you that one.
I was going to go a different route.
And I was like, why wouldn't you just do this?
Just saying.
We reported on this very show a little earlier this year
that MTV was looking to develop a series based on the screen films
that Wes Craven was slated to direct.
We then found out it had been put into development.
How apparently it's back on.
It is moving forward.
And Wes Craven is still in talks to direct.
I thought they were going to reality route.
What this thing for some stupid reason.
Now speaking of this film.
I've been watching a series last four or five weeks on the Smithsonian channel
called The Real Story.
Where they talk about films.
I think they've done Star Trek.
They've done Platoon.
They did live for your die hard.
It's not great.
I'm going to be honest.
The series isn't the series isn't.
But tonight they're doing screen.
I'm kind of wondering.
I'm kind of wondering.
I'm just kind of the live for your die heart.
It was terrible.
Platoon was pretty good.
It wasn't bad.
But I'm interested to see how they do this one.
Yeah, what's to what's to ponder exactly.
I wonder if they're going to try to recreate the opening scenes.
It was actually possible.
Because that's part of what they do in the series.
Is they test theories like for Platoon.
And the scene where he like shoots through themselves.
They're trying to kill the other guy.
Oh, that was a lifter guy.
That's die heart.
They actually.
The depose scene is what I actually saw.
Yeah.
They tested.
They didn't have gotten up and run.
After being shot point blank by Tom Barringer.
But they also tested those.
Those missiles that they fired that that like exploded.
And they have all those little like pseudo ninja stars.
Like 8,000 of them.
Uh-huh.
They stayed fired a mini version of one of those.
And I was like.
That is both the coolest and scariest things ever seen.
Right.
But the screen series is moving forward.
I'm going with this one.
Okay, I got it.
I took a second.
NBC.
That's great.
This has decided it wants to compete with the other networks.
And made a number of announcements this week.
The first of which is going to be creating a many series about Hillary Clinton
that will start dying lane.
I'm a fan of dying lane.
Trying to picture that.
They're going to air it before the 2016 elections are going to happen.
I mean, you have plenty of time.
Also, they will be doing a reboot of Rose Mary's baby.
Just because we needed that.
I'm not on board.
A new version of Stephen King's The Tommy knockers.
Never watched the first one.
I never watched the first one.
I know it was a lingo lears.
I'm thinking I never did see the Tommy knockers.
And a Mark Burnett project.
If you remember Mark Burnett in his wife Roma Downey,
which I didn't know until the Bible aired,
they're going to be doing a sequel to the Bible.
I guess they're going to pick up where the Bible left off.
Or are we going to go deeper into the New Testament?
I don't know what we're doing.
The Bible, too.
This time it's personal.
Yeah.
More than the first time on this personal.
But they're also going to be doing a project about the Pilgrims arrival at Plymouth Rock.
Because as we know, we land on Plymouth Rock.
Don't go.
Don't get a home now.
Come on.
So NBC trying to be competitive.
If you are a fan of the HBO series Rome,
one of their actors will be joining season four of Game of Thrones.
She is in Deera Varma.
And she's going to be playing a new character named Alaria Sand,
who is going to be quote the sexually adventurous paramorph of another new character,
Prince Oberin, the Red Viper Martell.
Sounds like a rest.
I just about to say that.
Welcome.
Welcome.
Welcome to Madison Square Garden.
In this corner.
Okay.
I think you're going to go on a walk walk.
How about this?
Let's just get started.
I'm filming.
I think they've filmed.
I'm not kidding.
I'm not kidding.
Jar Jar Martin.
I'm sorry.
George R. Martin.
I'm not still on getting the younger.
And HBO is kind of lighting a fire on us.
They do.
Start writing.
Please.
Please start writing.
And I bet he went.
I'm sorry.
Where are you talking?
I bet that was his reaction.
I'm like.
Because that to me, that would be the George R. Martin response.
Really?
Are you rushing me?
Are you rushing me?
Well, how about this?
I'm going to swore when you were rushing.
Nobody else here.
You must be rushing.
I said no.
I mean, we're not necessarily rushing.
This huge check.
Well, and we'll kind of...
I don't think that brothers hurt you for money.
That's all I'm saying.
Well, when you have money, what is the one thing you want more of?
More money.
Okay.
I want more of more money.
Or as the horrible film, which probably could have been on tonight's list as well.
Mo money, Mo money, Mo money.
Because that was a soundtrack.
We're going to tease that.
Chaz got a really good list tonight.
Thank you, sir.
Very excited about you.
That's the fact I have all the material.
Yes.
That's going to be a beautiful.
That assists me in that.
And Chad, who is a fan of the American Horror Story anthology.
A star from season one will be joining season three.
Dennis O'Hare will be joining the cast of American Horror Story.
I'll look him up.
I'm not sure who he is.
The two just called this Dorian Dorian 2.0.
Instead of Arcadia.
Yeah, I never quite got that.
But it's half of Power Station.
So, there's that.
Dennis O'Hare.
That's what it said.
The story that I read.
I am DB's kind of looking at me like who?
Because remember, if the internet says it, it has to be true.
Well, just look up American Horror Story Covenant.
Look at the cast.
Maybe I typed it wrong.
I've been wrong before.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
Make sure you join us three weeks from tonight for WWE SummerSlam.
Live at Fox and Hound and Richardson Texas.
We're going to talk more about that later.
Right now, let's get into a little segment we like to call person of interest.
And that kid is called hitting the post.
Person of interest is a segment we do on this show.
Where we take a person or an entity.
And we discuss their greatness or lack thereof.
The pendulum swings back to me this week.
Oh, okay. I got him. I got him.
Okay.
It's with one in. He's...
Jules, if you remember, he was a guy that got burned.
Spoiler alert if you haven't seen season one.
Yeah.
And Chad doesn't have POI on his run sheet.
Because again, we were flying by the seat of our pants tonight.
Just to get on the air on time.
Because we are dedicated to you at the Empire.
And I just...
If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm letting you know.
The show's probably going to be a little more wheels off the normal.
Because I am literally operating on a few.
I'm amazed. You're still conscious.
The idiot light went on in my brain about four hours.
I thought that was stuck on the on position.
No, because usually I can at least get enough energy
that the idiot light goes off.
Ah.
There's a difference between an idiot light and an idiot indicator.
That's always...
Oh, okay.
That's always on, sir.
Let's not get it twisted.
Okay. We've clarified that.
But next weekend is...
If I'm not mistaken and Fondango,
you're going to have to verify this for me.
Next weekend is the NFL Hall of Fame in...
...induction ceremony if I'm not mistaken.
But there's something that comes with that
that I wanted to mark as P.O.I.
And it's going to happen next Sunday night.
It is the Hall of Fame game.
So I thought you were going with it.
It is the first official preseason game of the year.
Um...
This year it is...
...my beloved Dolphins.
And I believe it's your...
...your beloved count...
I believe it is.
I believe it is.
I'm looking it up right now.
You would think I would be...
...more prepared than this.
Again, flying by the seat of our pants, working really without a net.
Or Frankie.
What do I think we could get?
Dolphins Cowboys.
We need to manage to get the tight rope up.
Here.
So that will be at next Sunday,
8 p.m. Eastern...
...on your local ABM.
Sorry, NBC affiliate.
You've got to say ABM.
What the ABC?
Okay.
What the ABC is NBC?
For me.
Okay, I guess that means he's here.
Yeah, go ahead and grab that.
Was that the door or the window?
Oh.
Chad's going to retrieve today's...
...instudio guest.
But again, thank you, Ross.
It's the Hall of Fame game.
It happens.
It's the first preseason game of the year.
If you know me, you know I am not a fan of preseason football.
I think I'd rather watch pop Warner football from 1982
than watch the Hall of Fame game or any preseason football game.
But...
I did want to make it P.O.I because there could be differing opinions in the room.
Joining us now, our special guest for the evening,
who got called in literally at the last minute.
He is the king of bowling.
He is Andrew Beckham.
Thank you.
You can call me the utility guy.
That's right, called in the left.
Let's call you a tool.
That's a wrap P.O.I.
And P.O.I tonight is the Hall of Fame game.
Oh, okay, good.
I could care less.
Thank you.
I'm the same way.
Preseason football in general.
I'm not a fan of this thing.
I'm the less of a fan of.
Oh, yeah.
I don't see the boy near this.
So here's my question.
Would it mean more if we moved it to week one of the season
and played the first Sunday night game as the Hall of Fame game?
Or is that doing too much?
No, I mean, you mean literally make this Hall of Fame game.
Mean something.
Make it count for something?
Right.
Because I don't care about preseason football.
Right.
So therefore.
Okay.
I'm going to go back to 7th grade algebra.
The transitive property.
Okay.
An A equals B, then B equals C, then A equals C.
I hate preseason football.
The Hall of Fame game is preseason football.
Therefore, I hate the Hall of Fame game.
Right.
It would.
I would be more interested.
And this is my beloved Dolphins.
Right.
But they're horrible new logo.
But.
My beloved Dolphin time will watch it.
Unless.
I mean, it'll be on a while.
We're on the air.
So we might put it on the TV in the studio just because ESPN news gets old after a while.
Well, now ESPN is really beating you down with two games on Monday.
And before the first season.
Yeah.
So I agree with you.
Throw that in there as the first game of the season.
That way people actually care about maybe what they're watching.
Instead of catching the chargers, Raiders at 10.
30.
Okay.
Well, okay.
Well, look at it like this.
Is it.
The winter classic.
The NHL winter classic.
That means something.
Right.
Is that absolute?
It's a middle season.
Okay.
Well, it's not middle season.
It's two months in.
But it is a valid game.
And they're talking about doing multiple this year, which I'm not on board with.
No.
The winter classic should be one game.
I'm absolutely.
They're talking about doing it two or three different times during the season.
No.
Totally not on board with.
It takes, it takes the magic.
Right.
It should always be one of the original six.
Absolutely original.
Absolutely.
But do the Hall of Fame game like that.
Midway through.
Maybe midway through.
And.
And you're, and you know what?
I'm going to say this right now.
Your double header Monday night opener this year.
Actually two gate two games I would watch.
It was it.
Eagles at red skins.
Texans at chargers.
That is two solid matchups.
Yeah.
Well.
You should.
Well.
Who do they have?
I don't know.
But see.
Usually the West Coast game.
I could give a crap about.
Right.
But I.
Texans chargers.
I would watch it because remember.
First half of the season.
Chargers always solid.
They just fall apart in the last five weeks.
Yeah.
Then you get to see the Texans defense.
Brush them.
Hopefully.
Do you see the Texans are having a homecoming game this year?
Oh, yes.
Yes.
I can't.
I'm so.
Were you not here this week?
We talked about it on this show.
I don't remember the term homecoming game coming up.
They're playing a homecoming game.
It's in December against the new week.
One Patriots.
Someone like girls going to be wearing mums and stuff.
I don't know.
But they're doing every home game for the Texans.
This year is a theme game.
There's a theme a sponsor and a theme to the game.
Hand of God.
That's happening.
Wow.
I like how to do something.
We must be.
I'm wondering if the.
I'm thinking this seven second delay is not working this week because you literally just said that.
Yeah.
And Derek responded.
Nice.
So and when we tested the new equipment last night.
The lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin was helping me test with the new equipment in the other rooms.
So we didn't have that clicking we had in the other one.
And I would say something.
And I could hear it almost within a second of me saying it from the other room.
Nice.
We do that.
We have some new tech tonight.
We everything's back to abnormal now.
Except I only have one screen that's not working.
And I got to fix that myself.
We need to explain Hall of Fame.
Game for jewels because he yet remember.
Yes.
For the Hall of Fame game.
It happens on Saturday night.
They're going to induct a new class of 2013 into the NFL Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Sunday night at the.
They actually play a game at the Hall of Fame because the Hall of Fame has a full
blown field there.
And that's it's just a preseason game.
It's the two current teams.
A lot of guys will be begging groceries next week.
But there's that.
By the way.
Hard knocks kicks off this week.
Oh yeah.
And it will be the Cincinnati.
I know it's the Cleveland Browns.
Browns.
Yeah.
I believe.
I'll show.
It's back on HBO.
Yeah.
It's back on HBO this year.
Isn't this the fifth time for the Browns or something?
No.
It's had more than a lot of this.
But the Browns never had.
I just I could care less about this game.
Any any preseason game I could care less about.
Any because my problem with with preseason football in general.
Number one to force your season ticket holders to have to buy those games as ridiculous.
Yes.
Number two to charge full price for those games as ridiculous.
It's criminal number three.
It should be pay ten bucks.
It's free season football.
It doesn't count.
It's free money for that.
Owners.
It's like seven year old soccer.
We don't keep score.
Yeah.
I'm sorry.
Did I say that out loud?
You get a pudding cup at the end of the game.
Yeah.
I'm going to put a cup at a pizza.
And the fact that it means nothing and you're going to have to see a bunch of no name
jumps that you're like you're going to never go see.
Watch it for the first 20 minutes.
You'll see both team starters and then move on.
Because after that they're going to pull them off the field.
Exactly.
After that, so in Madden you'll have a more entertaining game.
And then it's people battling to be on the D team.
Yeah.
I want to be on a practice squad.
Okay.
Beats thing that ditches there.
It does indeed.
And they properly make.
They've got that.
It's a basic figure.
So they're making more than me.
So there's that.
So pastor.
Rividing.
Yes.
Here's a guy that likes to watch free.
I can't do Madden.
You could have yourself.
I am.
Give myself a hernion.
You're always seeing the club house.
We are live every Sunday night.
We thank each and every one of you.
You guys make this word that for us.
Truly you do.
Let's talk some baseball.
The A-Rod drama continues.
Have you heard the latest theory?
When we're talking about some of it last night.
If he doesn't come back, the Yankees can collect like a huge insurance.
But he still guaranteed money for the next three years.
Oh yeah.
Like 20 million a season.
Yeah, but it listens to the blow.
The Yankees got themselves into.
It's I am so glad.
The Rangers got that albatross off from around their neck as quickly as they did.
It's still hurt them.
You have to go back a little bit.
Don make some good point.
If they move into a regular season game, each team loses a home game.
And then the city loses the revenue.
I can see that part of the argument.
But in preseason, you're going to lose it anyway.
Well.
Because your preseason games are still in a city somewhere.
What about when they go like to Europe or wherever to play that one game?
Yeah.
Well, they're doing two.
I think this year.
Well, there you go.
They're losing another home game there.
Yeah.
So big woop.
Poohals may be out for the season.
What happened to him?
Poohals is on the disabled list because of a partially torn ligament in his foot.
Oh.
Which might ultimately relieve the disc.
So he has a chronic condition.
But would require us to months as two months recovery time.
And the unlikely event surgery was required.
It would put him out for six months.
So there's still like.
No.
Has worse problems.
Yeah.
So does Miami apparently?
The marlin.
They're hitting coach had to resign.
Okay.
That may help them.
To say the mining.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
I know.
It's like saying.
Okay.
It's like saying the ocean is wet.
Yeah.
Tino Martinez had to resign apparently after a player notified the team that he erupted
in anger and grabbed him by his neck and his neck chain.
So he had to resign his position is hitting coach.
I have to step back.
Good job.
Tino Martinez.
Should have done more.
I mean, lower.
Don't they average two runs a game?
No, he needed to do that to the owner.
That guy's a moron.
The owner of the marlin seems to be keel-halled and flawed.
Yeah.
They're excited.
They make some field kick.
Who pulls?
Or Tino Martinez.
You know.
Either way, I'm good.
As long as we make people laugh, that's why we do this.
Why we do this show.
Let's go to your standing.
He says, yes, but we still don't know where to play.
Either way.
In the American League East, the Toronto Blue Jays are 48 and 56.
They are 14 games out of first place.
The Yankees are five games above 500.
They are six and a half games better than Toronto.
But seven and a half games out.
The Orioles are in the middle of the pack.
But the right now.
The Tampa Bay Rays are only half game behind.
Shah was beloved Boston Red Sox.
Oh.
Marica.
Oh.
In the central division.
The Chicago White Sox are still terrible.
They're 22 games below 500.
They've lost three straight.
The Minnesota twins are five and a half games better than them.
The Kansas City Royals are right in the middle of the pack.
The Cleveland Indians are currently three games back of the Detroit Tigers.
In Chad's beloved AL West.
It's time to play everyone's favorite game.
What is the run differential for the Houston Astros?
I, I dare express me to say pool.
Wow.
I can't even say pools.
I think I say it.
All right, Chad.
What is the run differential for the Houston Astros?
Oh, God.
I can't remember what it was last week.
I'm not telling you.
It's a really low number.
It's a really low number.
No, it's not.
But it wasn't as high as I thought it was.
It seemed like it had dropped below 100.
Oh, it didn't.
It didn't.
I thought it was like in the night.
There was one last week was the minus of 153.
Was it?
Yes.
I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to tell you.
167.
What it is or what it was.
153 was last week.
I haven't told you what it is yet.
I'm going to point it again.
Because I know it's just steadily going up.
Fondongo says negative 148.
Russ says minus 165.
Jules says minus 120 172.
167.
Currently the Houston Astros.
Hold on.
Currently the Houston Astros are 35 and 69.
They are 34.
It's below five.
They're way to percentage is a 337.
But let me put that in perspective for you.
In a normal baseball season, the Houston Astros in almost August have 135 more games than me.
Okay.
All this talent being wasted behind this microphone.
They are 26 games back of first place.
We're killing there tonight.
They're two and eight in their last 10.
The closest without going over is your lovely wife who is of British descent.
Really?
Because Russ went one over.
They are at a minus 164.
Wow.
Your best run differential is still John's beloved St. Louis Cardinals at a plus 137.
So the Houston Astros are 26 game back.
But you have a tie for fourth place with the Seattle Mariners and
the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Los Angeles County, California,
America, North America, Earth, Milky Way.
Alpha Quadrant.
And your beloved Rangers are now five and a half back of the Oakland A's.
The Rangers have lost four straight.
And they are two and eight in their last 10.
I think it's shut out today.
Yes, they did six nothing.
Yeah.
That's usually what a shut out means.
Nothing gets past you there, Ace.
What do I always say?
Smartest middle line.
Uh, envy.
Captain obvious.
NL West.
The San Francisco Giants are nine games out of first place.
The Padres are a half game better than them.
The Colorado Rockies in the middle of the pack.
And the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Andrew.
Have you seen the new Diamondbacks?
No, I haven't.
Pull it up.
Pull it up right now.
They have a new mascot.
This is a thing.
Okay.
This is a real thing.
I posted this on our website too because it's that genius.
This is the second week.
Captain.
Second week in a row.
This is half of the show.
This has been a discussion point.
The lot.
Missy's beloved Dodgers who have won two straight have now taken first place after the Diamondbacks lose two straight.
In the central division the Milwaukee Brewers are still terrible.
They're 17 games below 500.
They're 20 games out.
The Cubs are four and a half games better than them.
The Reds are five back and Don's beloved Pittsburgh Pirates are two behind John's beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
And in the only division that matters the NL East.
My Miami Marlins are 23 games below 500.
But they've won one straight.
So God bless him for that.
The Metz are six and a half games better than them.
The Phillies are 10 and a half back and the nationals are now eight back of my beloved Atlanta Braves,
who have a 5.67 winning percentage.
Best winning percentage still goes to John's beloved San Luis Cardinals.
They are six 14.
Like they've scored like 486 runs this year.
Something like that.
I was just saying the last week.
I can tell you what they've scored because I got right here.
496 runs scored 359 against.
It's crazy.
Yeah.
They're 32 and 17 at home.
30 and 22 in the road.
Wow.
It's come here.
I.
I.
Just rotate the laptop.
That's a thing.
That's a thing, sir.
That is really a thing.
Are you serious?
Yes.
They have a lucha libre wrestler.
Also with a cape.
And he is called luchador.
Oh, is that his real name?
At D backs luchador is his Twitter feed.
I wish I was kidding.
You're going to break that thing.
Let's get into.
It's amazing.
It's amazing.
What state that's in.
And kind of.
We've got to play this song again.
For two different people.
Chad, would you like to go ahead and take the first one?
Well, yeah, because I guess it's kind of affects me more than it affects.
I wouldn't say that.
Well, because I've been listening to this guy since before you have more history.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This guy was a.
A staple locally.
As long as I can remember.
What's kind of.
Let's take it back.
To last night.
Okay.
You and your lovely wife was a British descent over here at the house.
Haven't some dinner.
Greatness of the Wendy's pretzel bacon cheeseburg.
Oh, pretzel bacon is so good.
But you didn't get your honey mustard on for some reason.
He didn't.
We're watching the final episode of Unsung that we have on my DVR.
And I open Facebook.
And friend of the show, Devin Pike, has a post up.
And I'm like, this is different.
And so I go to Yahoo.
And I find out that Mark Cuban puts up a tweet last night at 10 30.
And I'll let you take it from there.
A announcing that local.
Local DJ.
Long time local DJ.
That had been nationally syndicated for I don't know how many years now.
I think they went nationally syndicated in the late 90s early.
Okay.
I looked at it for you.
Dave.
Kid.
Cratic.
Had passed away from a brain and your risen.
Um.
And Facebook and Twitter just exploded.
Literally.
There was an RIP.
He could critic page that within an hour and a half had over 10,000 fans.
And it was kind of.
Ironically, eerie because apparently last week.
The entire cast of the kid credit morning show had been doing there.
Well, well, I can't remember exactly how they prefer to it as their deathbed farewells or whatever.
And he had just done his like five days before we actually found it.
YouTube's got it up and we can only get like maybe a minute into it.
I do this.
Yeah.
It's it's it's it's almost.
It seems way too morbid even listen to this.
He was born in Napoleon Ohio and grew up and done even Florida where he went to high school with my mom and my aunt and both of my uncles.
Really.
Wow.
He was born August 22nd, 1959.
Actually, so he didn't go to school when they were there.
Maybe my aunt but not my mom.
Uh-huh.
Because my mom would have been seven years ahead of them.
So she'd been out of high school.
And he'd been in this market as long as I can make sure my mother appreciates me talking about her age.
His first radio station position was in Tampa.
He then moved to Fresno, California, worked in Miami for a while, Salt Lake City, and LA.
So technically, I could have heard of him before you.
He also worked in comedy clubs as an NC.
I can see that.
He received a name kid from a radio producer.
And used the name on air starting in 1978.
His real name is David Peter Cratic spelled CR-A-D-I-C-K.
Right.
I knew his first name was David.
Moved to Dallas in 1984.
Went to the Eagle.
In 1990, he was named the Ten Outstanding Young Americans List.
In 1992, he was released.
Eight months after that, he was off the air.
He went.
He's been at KISS FM in Cincinnati, too.
He went in Mark Coney in 1998.
He won air, air personality of the year at the Radio Music Awards.
Syndication began in 2001.
Okay.
75 markets and the American Forces Radio Network.
And on this very outlet that we were broadcasting on.
Yes.
He was on you straight.
We talked at length last night.
Probably a lot later than we should have given the fact that I had to get up at
2015 this morning.
Yeah.
I kind of dropped off with him.
96ish.
I kind of dropped off with him whenever that particular radio stations.
Music programming.
No stop.
Stop.
You stopped being their demographic.
Yeah.
I mean, it just no longer appeal to me.
After 95, music just kind of went into a downward spiral.
He catered to that demographic.
But he was hosting a charity golf tournament in New Orleans for kids kids, which
sends kids who have terminal diseases to Disney World.
There is someone fairly close to me that was a recipient of a kids kid's trip
one year with his family.
It wouldn't always, it wouldn't always terminal.
There was a kid's kids with chronic illnesses.
chronic illnesses and apparently he had a brain in your
reason.
And passed away last night.
Kissed at him's website didn't even carry it for about an hour.
Which really shocked me.
Well, there were probably clear channels probably trying to
circle the wagons.
Yeah.
Because this guy was.
I mean, there's a lot of stations that clear channel
owns.
But his show was got to be at the top of that list.
It would have to be.
And I'm very curious as to what they're going to do for me.
Well, I am of the personal opinion and former host of this show,
Cody Hawkins called me last night.
And we talked about it for a few minutes.
Because his on his steps on saw it on Instagram.
And he was like, don't believe everything you read on the internet.
He called me and he, I said, so you're seeing it.
He's like, this is a thing.
I mean, this is a thing.
Because once I always, I don't put anything on our on our website
or on our Twitter feed or on our Facebook unless I vet it first.
And I've got to have three reputable sources.
Multiple.
Yeah.
So we were scrambling on the internet looking for this thing.
Found it with very little effort.
Yeah.
The AP was carrying it.
CNN was carrying it.
Russ is saying that the show will go on tomorrow is planned
and from where are you getting that from Russ?
That's,
Billy, the kid actually announced it on air.
He had to be, he was the guy he was the DJ on duty.
So he was the guy that had to deliver the news.
Yeah.
We listened to a kid's FM on the way home.
And it was just there was playing Rihanna.
It just didn't sound like anything.
Well, they know.
There was, there were no DJs at all, were they?
I don't know.
I mean, were they jack-at-femming it?
Just play something.
And so we can figure out what we're going to do.
I couldn't tell.
I mean, I didn't hear anybody talk.
They played like two songs in a commercial break.
And I'm like, this guy, I mean,
and Cody and I talked about it last night.
If you had to make a melt rush more of Dallas radio,
he's on that mountain.
Yep.
Ron Chapman.
Ron Chapman.
Galaway.
Norm Hitzkiss.
Mike Reiner.
I'm sorry.
For those of you that don't live local,
we just got completely local on you.
And I don't write this point.
I don't care because this is something
that impacts people across the nation because
if you were a soccer mom, you listen to King Cratic.
And that's not to say anything bad about soccer,
but that's his Democrat.
Yeah.
Like him or not, you have respect what he did.
Right.
It's one of those deals where they announced it.
He says they announced it this afternoon on his website.
Okay.
It's one of those deals where there can be a person
that knew of this show that didn't read that and go,
I'm sorry, what?
I mean, when you told me like, again,
have a listen to him in a decade,
but a chill went down my spine.
Yeah.
He actually went to University of Miami.
Why not know that?
Well, did anybody even know about this?
Or was it just all of a sudden this happened to him?
I hadn't heard anything about it.
I mean, you got to remember, like,
right around just a little less than a year ago.
I lost a cousin the exact same way.
And this is just one of the things that just happened.
It hit you.
You have no idea.
You know, you got one until it's too late.
He was 53 years old.
Not all of my cousin was.
Well,
also passing away this week.
You may not know the name,
but you definitely know what you did.
J. J. Kail.
But you know what he did.
He was born December 5th, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,
Homer.
So he was 75.
Singer songwriter.
You would know he was one of the originators of what's called
the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre
drawing on blues, rockability, country, and jazz influence.
So we have anything at his cue.
Um, I can make that happen.
If I couldn't get it done in that.
No, as soon as people hear this, it would be like,
Oh,
I'm so glad that we're not having to pay Sarah McLaughlin Royals.
I'm telling you something.
We have used this song.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Did that go out?
I'll give her any ideas.
I said that go.
Where did you go? Where did you go?
I'm sorry.
I'm very smart.
All right.
So things that you would know
that were written by J. J. Kail will start here.
There's this one.
There's this one.
I'll take it.
I think it was an awareness because he's, I guess not.
Claped in after midnight. I like the other version.
That's the du Reykj version. I do like the Reykj version a lot.
Jack, I've been plays that version a lot.
But the Reykj version. There's a Reykj version.
I'm just like the slow down version.
I don't know if I call it Reykj.
It's the two posters.
He's got that syncopation to it.
And he wrote this by the same artist.
That's the one that'll get everybody's attention.
That's the one that'll get everybody's attention.
Finds the people waiting outside to hear it.
Really? He also wrote Clyde by Wayland Jennings.
I'm going to hit this man.
You suck.
You suck.
You suck.
You just tear.
Clap it again.
By the way, Derek.
You suck.
We're going to be missed.
We got a chair here.
Wait for you, Derek.
Claped in another single phone book.
Now let's go to the opposite of the spectrum.
Your first performer for the MTV Video Music Awards
An August 25th has been announced.
And her mama didn't call her this, but Lady Gaga, for those of you that
needed a bucket of musical ice water phone in your face.
Her brand new single, which is yet to be named, will be performed live for the first
time on the VMAs.
The single will drop the Tuesday before.
And her new album, Art Pop All One Word will drop November 11th.
Have you seen the latest picture of her promoting it?
No.
She's sitting in a chair.
And the entire chair is made of, like, sounding video cards.
Okay.
I'm like, that can't be comfortable.
No.
I'm holding up a video card in the studio right now.
That can't be comfortable.
Yeah.
But either can the iron and plowing, but people sit on that thing a lot.
At least I'm using the DJ here over here.
I'll shoot you a useless thing.
Wow.
I once won't meet as close to the next.
The single's gonna be called shooting, I mean, useless.
We have a, we have a Mazel top to go through.
Oh my god.
Did I ever play this for you?
What is this?
Go here in a minute.
This is the first dance for the bride and groom.
She is Molina Gallow, who for the last eight years has been dating Johnny Redsnik of the Google Dolls.
They got married this past week.
I think about Friday night.
This was their first, first dance.
You know this song.
I don't know if you've heard this version.
When the rain is blowing in your face.
And the world is all your game.
Does anyone think it is?
Who do you think it is?
Nora?
No.
It's not you.
She doesn't like she's rather like that.
Oh, a dance.
This is on 19.
This is the cover on the first album.
When the evening shadows in the star.
HECK of a choice.
And it was this version that it was this version.
That's why I'm playing this version.
So congratulations to Johnny Redsnik.
It's actually, Russ is an all-guard throats.
It's actually originally a Bob Dylan song.
That Garth Brooks and Billy Joel both read it.
Oh.
The Derek says he he lusts Adele more than he physically or mentally showed.
What I love about her is she's just she's about as real as it gets.
When she won when she won the Golden Globe, she just she got out of the stage.
She said, I'm just me and my friend are here just on a mommy's night out.
Getting drunk and making fun of people.
I can't respect it.
Great, great version of this song.
The chick reminds me of somebody that was on Game of Thrones.
They didn't say what she does in the article I read on Entertainment Weekly's website.
She's probably not worth it.
Fans of Frank Ocean in Australia, you have a problem.
He tore a vocal cord the other night and he had to cancel his entire Australian tour.
And apparently he's feuding with Chris Brown again.
By the way, did you read this week that Miley Cyrus said she wants a Chris Brown tattoo on her face?
I'll be more than willing to suck her punch her face.
I'm sorry mama.
I'm sorry mama.
It's orange kid weird.
And DMX arrested for DUI.
I originally didn't put this on the run sheet.
But then I saw follow up to that story today and I kind of had to.
I knew he got into trouble, but what's I have no idea what the follow-up is.
They've released the dash cam video and it shows him passed out in the backs of this quad car.
Y'all are going to make me.
And doesn't he have like eight kids by five baby moments?
Yeah, I like the Sean Kimball.
Yeah, Sean Kimball.
New releases in a music place that you get music from.
Because I can't even say in a CD store because those don't exist anymore.
Just from your favorite musical outlet and believe it.
What's a CD?
Well played.
Just because the slide top I got has no CD drive.
I did end up using the rest of my Amazon gift card today.
You know it's coming in the mail later this week.
A DVD.
Yoga pants.
The whole the whole thing's coming later this week.
Look up Tim Hawkins yoga pants.
He's the greatness.
He's the Derek.
Derek said he's the Derek of rap.
You know what?
Can't.
Oh, and we have verification.
Adele sounds like she's from London because she is.
And that is according to your.
You're we'll all be wife who's on British descent.
The backstory boys released a brand new album this week in a world like this.
In a world like this.
I'm sorry.
See only song that there's I even halfway enjoy.
There's a couple of them that I admittedly like.
I was listening to 90's on nine.
This thing came on and I was stuck in traffic.
And I found myself slowly inching it up louder.
And I had my windows rolled down.
And I pull them next to it.
I immediately rolled the windows up and turned the music down.
No.
I wasn't listening back.
Go.
This is this song just started.
It was the song before it.
You know, a number of G thing was on right before it.
And I had it loud.
I forgot to turn it back down.
I'm sorry.
The dude next to me is like like a cigarette going.
Shut up.
I'm not.
The Derek rap.
I can't get that.
And Chad's done.
I can't wait till we get a him in the studio.
Oh, he's got to do it.
Tell me when he's coming.
Derek and Doc.
Oh, no.
Oh, dear God.
No.
I'm going to say it now.
No.
Yeah.
We're booking that.
I have veto with that.
Why?
Do we know anybody else who's name begins with the letter D that we can be a special 3D episode?
But his buddy guy also raises a brand new album.
This week called Rhythm in Blues.
And this band, who's big with the kids with the clothes in the hair.
Five finger death punch.
What a great name for a band.
The wrong side of heaven and the righteous side of hell.
Volume one.
Because apparently we can't tell the whole story.
And one album.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
He's probably right.
I don't know if you, I don't know if you get that reference.
What's that?
The follow up that Derek would share it.
Another group popular with the kids of the clothes in the hair.
Michael francy and spearhead release all people.
Who?
What?
They're big with the clothes of the clothes in the hair.
You got to trust me.
Well, I'm just glad we don't have a bunch of bald naked kids running around.
Also.
Well, we haven't looked outside yet.
So we never know.
This could be one of my favorite albums.
Obviously Beethoven in the 2000s.
That's impressive.
If you never heard this, this isn't a sprite commercial.
This is Robin thick.
Is this the video that's getting so much black on YouTube?
No, this is like three years ago.
This is God.
I like this.
This is Alan thick's kid.
Oh, I knew who he was.
I knew who he was.
But I've never heard of him.
Oh, this was 2003.
This was 10 years ago.
It was in a sprite commercial.
Geez.
But Robin thick releases blurred lines this Tuesday.
Oh, hey.
This song is double dude.
And Vince Gill and Paul Franklin release Bakers Field.
But not Bakers Street because that's different.
We just keep this song going for the rest of the show.
Yeah.
We can let it play for a minute.
As we talk about the fact that you are listening to the clubhouse live every Sunday,
night 70 certain for Pacific, if you miss any portion of the program,
it's going to be available right here on you stream on archive as soon as we get off air.
Also, you can go ahead and subscribe on iTunes.
Do that.
If you previously subscribed to the iTunes before two weeks ago,
you need to unsubscribe from that one and re-subscribe because we've had to move some things around.
You'll have everything through last weeks.
An episode called Charlotte does not play Candy Crush and shoot in Shabango.
We explained that to my wife Friday night at dinner.
Uh-huh.
And she went, you did what?
I'm like you married it.
It was still funny.
So apparently that story can be retooled.
Oh, you see, rest is post.
The hair at the Bakers Field.
Oh, it's a trip to, oh, wow.
Bucco is in Merle Haggard.
Very nice.
Yeah, we still got to get those shooting Shabango T-shirts made.
You need to get the domain.
What is the shooting Shabango?
I was trying to say kitten kaboodle and all shooting match.
And it just melded itself into this shoot.
A Malcolm of Words that should not exist and don't.
It was a grammatical disaster.
And it stopped down the entire show.
And it was the callback for the rest of the evening.
I feel like we're a TV sitcom on here.
We have all these websites that we should have the domain, but we don't.
It's just one of those things.
We were just mining for comic gold.
And it's just, hey, look, we got to have the mine before.
So it lays everywhere, sir.
Take, take, take, take, take.
Hey, here's one.
Yeah.
Make sure you join us three weeks from tonight.
So, what the heck is it, Shabango?
No.
I know.
They sang Manning Monday.
Three weeks from tonight.
No, remember it was eternal shame.
What's their big thing though?
Um.
W.W.
Summer slam.
Live.
From Fox and Halden Richardson Texas.
I can't even do this to plug it anymore.
Just west of Sanchez.
Spray on Campbell Road.
Five bucks gets you in the door.
Be there for Summer slam.
The third major in the air.
I think a sip of my beverage while this song finishes.
That's what killed me with my beverage.
It turned on me.
Oh.
I'm picking this up when I get home.
Yeah.
You probably might.
No.
You might have it, but I don't.
I wouldn't be playing.
I'm not just saying you might have it, but I don't.
All right.
If you do set your DVR for tonight, we're going to combine.
Remember, we are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
We're going to combine them as we talk pro wrestling.
And I have my iPad this week.
So I just want you to know that.
And you've got your notes, right?
I have to pull them up and I have my iPad.
If you have a set your DVR for tonight.
Total divas does premiere tonight on the.
Entertainment Network.
Ouch.
I believe it's at 109 Central if I'm not mistaken.
I actually had to take a survey for it on WWE fan council.
I can take a survey if you haven't seen it.
They were talking about all the promotion leading up to it.
Over saturated.
I best worked for me.
It's believe me.
I'm dying to talk about the promotion during Raw and what happened during that promotion.
See, I missed it.
Oh, I didn't.
But, uh, the bell is the Funk Adactals.
Nadi.
Is Alicia fucked in this thing?
I don't think so.
I know there's two new divas.
But we're going to talk about that here in a minute.
Yes, please.
I'm DVR in it.
You know, I'll support the company.
There's nothing that I really think.
I mean, it's going to deal.
The first episode is going to deal with WrestleMania.
Because the divas match up thumbs for WrestleMania.
Uh-huh.
Um-huh.
Uh, congratulations to Matt Hardy and Reby Sky.
Matt Hardy puts a ring on it.
They'll be getting married October the 5th.
Yeah.
Oh, too close to my birthday.
And my anniversary serve.
Oh, Marvel, look at me.
And Rob Vendam has joined the voice cast of the new video game Saints Rose...
Saints, row four comes out in the cup ofWhoa-
as the Barb'er.
They've just been peaceful as us.
They're playing the heck out of the Saintsrow the third.
Here're just in the past couple of weeks.
There's a good as a...
Oh, it's a blast.
It doesn't take itself seriously.
It's what we'll talk about later.
Let's talk.
Alright.
Whoo.
Let's talk, Raw.
I want to, I want to first start by sending a memo to JBL because JBL was becoming coal.
I love John Bradshaw, I feel. I have nothing but respect for this man and what he's doing
is getting ready to climb another mountain here next month. And coal is going with it. Really?
Yes, coal is climbing the next mountain with him next month. They're probably going to slow pace.
But we maybe don't need to do some research on this next fact, Dwight. But is there anybody
that JBL has never seen look better? That is becoming his vintage. That's his crutch thing, you know?
Well, the day the day he says, gender mahal has never looked better. I might turn off.
That's what it's going to take. That's the tipping point. I think Vince is salt. He's seen that
JBL say that and that's that's the thing you have to say at least he was in his ears from the
core of the swaggle hasn't never looked better. By the way, he's almost done filming
leprechaun origins. He's coming back. I know you're excited. Hey. There was a sign in the crowd and I'm
just, I'm going to tell you what this sign says. I don't know if you saw it. I'm going to let it
sit, I'm going to let it simmer for a minute. And then for people that aren't local or within the
state that we live in, I will explain it. The sign said, keep Austin straight edge because they
were in Austin at the Frank Irwin Center, right? Keep Austin straight edge. What that's sit.
Okay, it's simmered long enough. If I were to pick a list of the things I would describe Austin
Texas as straight edge. No, we're not even close. Keep Austin baked. A little bit closer.
Keep Austin face down in a stranger's front yard and they can't find their way home from a
party that was being held next door. A little bit closer. It didn't let their bit though down there
is keep Austin crazy. Keep Austin weirder. Weirder crazy. Keep Austin weirder. I saw that
sign that I went. Really? That's what you're looking at. And we're really still touting the
straight edge thing because punk hasn't really talked about that kind of a piece of life. He still
sports the X's though. I mean, I don't think that's just because he has to. So now let's talk about
Chad's favorite part. If you don't listen to this show live, you miss so much. I'm just saying.
Do I even want to ask? No, you really don't. Long John Penelope. So let's talk about Miss TV
where we had the divas out for promoting total divas. Out would be a good word.
I like to start with the question. What the hell was that?
I'm the miss. These are the divas. And now we're going to hand it off to Jerry Lawler.
I'm Jerry Lawler. Good night everybody. What the hell was that? And as he goes back to his seat and
he closes and miss closes the segment. Okay. Which one of the bellers had the girls done?
Oh, don't have, I don't remember. Nicky, Nicky will run with that. Okay, what she had, she did have an
lips lip apparently. Not her. Oh, I was breezy. It was breezy. As they as like Miss did his little
sign off thing and they put the camera back on and I think Nicky saw it because it's not like they
got up and jumped around or anything. They were still seated. But Bree, Bree was wearing like this
plunging neckline dress. And Nicky had on like the skin type red number. But Bree, like it was like
cut down to her navel practically. And I think she just kind of turned her head and turned it back
and out came the left twin. How's your father? And I think Nicky caught it and just kind of at this
point she's like she's on camera and she looked at her like, it's just this awkward smile like,
something going on at this early. And that is a point. There was one time where JBL said
Sincara was one of the most exciting wrestlers in WWE history. Was he really? Yeah, I'm just saying.
But I still contend with the hell with this mess. But that slip up. I was like, okay,
and I'm gonna just pose this question because I've already answered it for myself. Could this be
the best version of Paul Hayman ever? Since the early days of ECW, since his WCW days for the
dangerous alliance before that. This, he can, I'm not even gonna go. This version of Hayman
he's playing it to the health. You hate his guts. I mean, you hate his guts. And which means
he's doing his job. Yeah. I mean, I have, I have been impressed with Paul Hayman. This could have
been one of the best decisions creatives made in a long time. Yeah. Very impressed with Hayman's work.
Always been a Hayman fan. When he hitched himself to Punkswagon, it got, it got so old and so tired.
Well, Punk has always had someone attached to him. And finally, I think they're letting him run by himself.
I like this version of Punk. Yeah. He's like, he's like, when the pipe bomb started going on.
And as much as I don't like Lesnar, the best versus the beast, I can't debate the marketing genius of that.
And I'm ready for that match. Because if you don't take this match, it's going to be a little bit of a
shoot. Oh, yeah. There's going to be some, it's not pulled. I mean, we, we haven't been excited about
the summer slam main event in a long time. I think I'll be the main event. It's going to be the most
watch though, a bit. Yeah. We had an Alex Riley, Riley citing. I see it was hanging out with Brad
Maddox watching Raw during the main events. What are we doing with him? You can pay me last.
I'm sure. And I'll do it. I work for a couple of bucks less than Riley. What's creative has one good
angle. They just, but I'll tell you this much. Apparently Vince is coming around on Daniel Bryan.
Good. Because if you watched, did you get all my three raw? I believe so. With the three
back to back to back matches for Daniel Bryan. That was amazing. Yeah. That guy got to finally show
after how many years now. Got to finally show what he's made of. This is the Bryan Daniels
and we saw in ROH. Right. This was a great three match set. It truly was. I enjoyed it immensely.
Do I think that guy should carry the WWE title? You might want to pump the brakes a little bit
on that. But I still want to see him and punk work an ankle. Good God. And 20 bucks if he does win
and an Orton doesn't cash in. Okay. So you got to put that qualify on it. Right. But one of his little
sides on the belt is a goat. 20 bucks. I won't bet against you. Because that would be
genius. Unless it's just yes yes yes. Now to I think that if he does win that Daniel that
Randy Orton cash is in, I think there's a great zero chance of it. Long as he doesn't win.
Or maybe seen a wins, but Daniel Bryan snaps and knocks him out in Orton wins. I don't know.
I don't see Orton cash in in this soon. I hate the drawn out money the bank cash in.
Well, you know what? I don't know. I'll take that back because you know Orton really didn't
need that. He's he's already. He's a hell so lame anyway. So if you really doesn't need it.
Let's move into impact wrestling news. Another release as Jesse Sorenson
that Jesse Sorenson the guy that got injured by Zima Ion over a year ago
was paralyzed. Has worked his way back. He was working as a production assistant backstage
learning the backstage nature of it. Still had every intention to return to the ring.
Impact wrestling has released him. He's going to return to the ring at an NWA4 to underground event.
He went kind of scorched earth on Dixie. Did he not? Kind of. Basically he had a kickstarter to get
him into a a bodybuilding deal and that's happening. So that they got actually met the goal for it.
I'm trying to remember what it was something that online lines up that promises promise is
we're making and broken. Yeah. Basically what the company decided is that for a PA they could
pay somebody last. So it's what I've been reading. That's pretty credit here. Tell you people aren't
give this this has potential to be ECW all over again. These people aren't getting paid. They're
getting paid late and not just talent executives are not getting paid on time from the reports I
have read. This is a sinking ship rapidly sinking ship. This thing is going in a quicker decline than
thin. You don't know what you have to say. I'll just leave. Yeah. Some of them. I mean and there is
there are rumors that I haven't reading. That WWE talent is not allowed to scout their talent
actively. But impact wrestlers are sending Stanford audition tapes. Wow. Which they can't
officially come in, Tom. Yeah. Because of no compete causes. But the rumor is they are looking
at some of TNA's talents. They've got to be. And they can cherry-tick the best of whatever they
were. They were in TNA. I would be Kevin Nash's best friend. Because you know what I mean.
Sorry. I don't think they don't ever happen. Sorry. The rumors are strong.
Oh, I do. The rumors are strong again. I don't know. Just look at this. I know he's scared of
you know. And still no TAS this week. But both of those episodes last week and this week
episode was taped on the same night. So I don't know if that was just a bit because I know
I've heard conflicting rumors. Some rumors say that he's in contract dispute and he's not
resigned. I've seen other reports that say he signed a three year deal. Nobody's saying anything.
I can't imagine anybody's got any long-term deals just being signed. Dixie puts up a post
on Saturday saying a quote unquote anonymous video with delivered to impact headquarters. And it's
a guy in silhouette whose name is Voices being masked. Saying he's going to show up with the hashtag
August 1st. I don't work for impact wrestling. I want justice. How many bits are we going to rip off?
NWO. The shield. I mean, come on. Rumors are it's one of the guys that got turned down
in gut check. That's the latest rumors I'm hearing. There's nothing being substantially said yet.
Hogan's selling the bid on Twitter. Let me tell you something. If you're one of the dudes from gut
check, you might want to look at who the company's released in the last three weeks.
Yeah. Five different gut check competitors that have passed. I've been released. Yeah. So let's
let's just say don't buy that house in Orlando or in Memphis just yet. Unless it's a trailer.
Unless it's an RV. Yeah. Yeah.
Or we talked about how last week impact was destination X? Well, your normal August paper view will
also be on impact as August 15th episode will be hardcore justice. I like the idea.
I like where they're going with it. But if you're going to do that, at least make the card
paper. Which is a little difficult to do in that company. Let's talk impact. I'm the only one
on the room that we're in the watching. Yeah. Okay. Good. I mean, there's curtain in the beginning of the show.
He's still there. In the beginning of the show, bully Ray says he's going to sue the company
for what happened over losing the title. And he brings out his attorney. And the only thing I could
think of was, did Kevin Nash's dad become an attorney? Like he looked like a really skinny,
shorter older version of Kevin. Well, let's say he was like at the attorney like a feet tall.
Like Jack Skellington. By the way, speaking of things wrestling related and Kevin Nash,
and he was once on the Steve Austin show podcast. Listen to the Ray's interview.
It dropped on Thursday. Uh-huh. No real revelations, but they went into his kid quite a bit.
Uh-huh. Good interview. They're going to do another part in a couple of weeks. He did say the
Colt Cabana episode is in the can. You're God. Wow. Yeah. And by the way, did you look behind us all?
Yeah. Greatness. Don got that for me forever. That's awesome. I also saw what's in front of you too.
It's pretty awesome. I've never seen before. It's a little piggy bank. That cut. That was Christmas.
Oh. Check out that for some of us. It's been there for months, sir.
Well, because before I used to have the, I had the, I had the, the monitors connected to each other.
Uh-huh. But I've put some, I've separated some. So I can see who's sitting on the other side of the desk.
Because I'm always looking at the back end of it. See, I can always rely on Don to watch impact. Which is good.
Uh-huh. Ultimate X happened. Uh-huh. Mayhem is your new
X division champion very man. Look for an ultimate X match because ultimate X is a great. I've
have you ever seen ultimate X match chat? What shows it on again? I'm just asking because I don't know.
I don't judge you outwardly. Um, I've never watched it. Here's how old the next works. Here's how
ultimate X works. You have two extra ropes above the ring that have scaffolded over them.
Where are the ropes match to form the X? Uh-huh. That's where you,
you used to hang a big X and then you pulled it down. But they actually hung the new title
from it. So you had to climb the scaffold, go across these ropes across the top of the ring to get
the belt down. Okay. So it's like a hybrid of, it's like a ladder match without ladders.
It's a ladder match with scaffold. Basically. Okay.
Normally a lot better. This one was very, very mediocre for my taste. Not a lot of really good
high spots like I expect from the X division. Although I do like the new belt.
But Shane Helms is right. If you took the NXT belt and the last incarnation, not the current one,
the previous incarnation of the intercontinental belt and they had a love child. That's what this
thing would look like. So Jeff Hardy comes out. And as he comes out to the ring,
he's got his whatever this week's face paint motif is. But then he's got red paint on his hands
that he smears on his face. I've been out on the Jeff Hardy face paint things this day one.
Yeah. Okay. Here's the deal. He smears the red paint on his face and then fans are high
fiving him. Here's a question. No. No. No. Because now you have red paint already. That's
rust that's something about Jesse Ventura being back in the news. I'm not, I haven't heard anything
of you, sir. I guess not. I was not getting the whole coconut ripped off. It's a bit embarrassing.
But rust, if you would, uh, you're right, Derek, that's not a question. But you know,
as as wheels off as this show is, I can't. But rust something which you've heard about
Jesse Ventura will see if we can talk about it. Yeah, you're right. Okay. So it wasn't a question.
It looks like it's now time for everyone's favorite segments. Oh, it's a lawsuit. It looks like
about of it with Ventura. Yeah. Is he doing somebody else's style incidents? Yeah. I guess
so I'm murder maybe see who there's something. Oh, that's right. Yes. I do know. Okay.
Please elaborate. Apparently when a Chris Kyle wrote this book, American sniper. Uh-huh.
Okay. That he got into an altercation with Jesse. And Jesse is now suing Chris Kyle.
Isn't he no longer with you? Yes. That's, I mean, it is one of the ultimate
debug moves I've heard of. Jesse a former Navy seal. Yes.
Oh, really dude. I'm like, come on. Yeah. Like, still in your face. It moves you, but really. Yeah.
It's, it's, it's, it's nauseating. When I read this, I'm like, what a little bit of respect. I'm
out of head lift for you after all the stupid things you've been saying after you Ted knew
it yourself and every opportunity. I'm done with Frick and Ventura. All right. Now it's time for
everyone's favorite segment on the show. Wrestling logic. So bully Ray wants to sue the company
because Chris Sabin hit him with the hammer and the real title match. All to a destination next.
Right. Okay. Who introduced the hammer into the match? Triple H? No. Wrong. Wrong company.
Mr. Anderson. Who's a member of Ace's and Ace? That bully Ray is the president. Okay. So
technically, if Anderson doesn't introduce the hammer into the match, Sabin doesn't use it to hit
bully Ray and win the title. Right. Just saying. Thank you. Again. Wrestling logic. There you go.
This is more, you know. This has been a public service and now something fun to plug in.
Um, over the limit for WWE is officially gone. Should I do now going to be WWE battle
ground on October the 6th. RVD has been advertised for it. So no more hell on the cell.
Well, they moved over the limit to October. Okay. Oh, because I was always
popular. Maybe we're going to do two that because I mean, because we went to hell on the cell
around around my birthday. Yeah, it was an October. Yeah. RVD's advertised for battleground
but is not advertised for not a champions, which is a month before. It's sure to sound like a video game
to me. It does. That's probably what they're doing. Which one? I think. Oh, speaking
of which, I do have a correction for Don. Don mentioned we talked about it at money in the bank
about taz and Mike awesome in a ladder match. The clip he found on YouTube. Sorry, dude.
Because I looked it up. It was from WWE No Mercy. The video game. Oh, my god.
But if you look at like, he probably just saw the thumbnail and it looked like it could have been a match.
So I'll give him the fun. I'll just want to know how to pronounce what, what,
here. And Nail a polluse abrasion. Yes, nailed it. Stop the landing.
Stuck the landing serve. Let's talk some back down real quick. Here. God.
Real quick, smack down headlines. Did you did a fun Don go show up on Robisweek?
No, what? I really can't recall. Watch his video. If he comes out tomorrow, I don't
watch the back down. His Titan Trong video. Actually says.
That's been doing that. Yeah. It's very close. Thank you New Jersey.
Also, Ziegler gives the awkward turtle award of the week. As AJ's in the ring, I just like ripping
all of his stuff up. He says, I have cash in my pockets. And I don't have pockets.
Okay, sure awkward turtle quote of the week. I drink non-sensical quote. Just say yeah.
You're always the clubhouse. Let's keep moving and do movie talk. Let's talk box office numbers.
Since this show is on Sunday nights, we give you the complete box office for the weekend.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week, World War Z, 192 million. So it made budget back.
And monsters university making 255 million dollars at this point. Wow, that didn't take long.
Don wants you to sing the fun Don Go chant with his name. That's a request for you.
Uh, let me think no. Yeah, here's a question. No. Okay. Number 10 this week.
Brain new entrance to the countdown. Up from 17 to 10 is the fruit is a movie called Fruit Vail
Station an independent film that's getting all kinds of buzz. Oh, yeah, for obvious reasons. It's made
4.65 million dollars for a total of 6.3 meters. Would you like to use a library on that?
It's it the subject matter is very easily relatable to the trayvons George Zimmerman. Oh, is that what you're on there?
Very very much so. That it's still not a question. You are correct.
In ninth place dropping from 7th place is the Ryan Reynolds vehicle RIPD making $5.9 million for a two week total of
24.4 million. That vehicle would be it's that vehicle would be a you go. It's a hundred and six million below budget right now. Good.
Why would Jeff Bridges even do this movie? We're out of rental to even do this. Number eight stays the same as the heat makes another six point
85 million dollars for a five week total of 141.2 million dollars and
Sandra Bullick waffling on the sequel now. If you go to our website www.theclubhousepodcast.com
Go to news. We have a story up about it, but it's very similar to the kind of things that people say all the time.
I don't want to do a sequel unless we can make it better than the first one. Andrew, have you been to the new website yet?
No, I have. You'll need to check it out after the show. Okay. I'm very proud. Very proud of it.
Same web address. Yep. Oh, that's podcast.com. Nice. What revamp? Well, I actually look at it on a
call my laptop out of the show. Number seven dropping one spot from the six spot is Pacific Rim.
7.54 million dollars for a three week total of 84 million dollars. It is a hundred and six million
below budget. We can't go see this. I know. I know. Also dropping one slot from five to six is red two
making $9.4 million for a two week total of 35 million dollars. It's not even happening to budget.
Need to see that one too. Grownups two drops from four to five. 11 and a half million dollars for a three week total of 111.7 million
dollars. This thing is killed. It's budget. And this is why the rest of the country are the rest of the world hates us.
Grownups two is doing better than red two in Pacific Rim. Oh, that movie was such a beat down.
God, say this. Dropping from the bronze metal to fourth place is the other Ryan Reynolds vehicle turbo.
See what I did there. 13.4 million dollars for a two week total of 55 million. It is 85 million for
bushing. Both of his movies are getting their budgets back at a snail's pace. And I don't mean a turbocharged one.
Your bronze metal is your former silver metal. This fickle me to make $16 million for a four week total of
306 million dollars. And it got some of our money on a 74 million dollar budget.
Have you seen it yet? No, no, you need to. I really loved it. I loved it. I have a million at work now. That's awesome.
By the way, something else I noticed. I thought about the other day. You and I
within about 72 hours of each bomb. Probably about 96 hours of each other. Both had items of the same ilk
disappear on us. Think about it. What did you have disappear? What did I have disappear? Oh, oh, yeah.
This is true. I'm going to go ahead and say it. My iPod was stolen out of my office. It worked this week.
Are you serious? And Jill's as I thought was stolen by our little. Well, it's let's let's let's leave that long.
Well, you brought it up. Well, I didn't want to go that deep into it because I didn't want to, you know,
apparently in the 64 of our building, there's people that are selling things as well. Nice. I'll just say combat at
fifth floor. Silver metal. I'm on the fifth floor. Be careful. Silver metal goes to last week's gold metal
one of the conjurimics. Another 22.1 million dollars for a two week total of 83 million dollars.
Almost quadrupling. It's budget. It's a 20 million dollar film. Yeah. And you're winner for the
weekend a movie that Don saw a screening of Chad watched it Friday night. The Wolverine. Chad,
you liked it. Don did not. How I done it. It was the worst of all the movies in the X-Men series.
I'm inclined to believe Dawn because they're rating it as X-Men friends rejoice. I go, oh, okay. Well,
that means I shouldn't rejoice. Okay. But it makes 55 million dollars. It's almost halfway to budget.
And it's opening weekend. Wait a minute. Don is saying that there was a lot of stuff that was
not realistic and not believable. We are talking about a character who has a adamantium skeleton
and opt claws out of his nerves. Sir, come on. Do you understand that I can't argue this?
Did you not listen to our season finale? Because remember what I said? I argued the whole
Batman Superman conundrum. Oh, God. But again, my my contention is if you
rip the night suits. But if you if you set up rules in the universe, you have to follow those rules.
Yes. I'm just curious that the what he's referring to because he saw the same movie I did.
The X-Men was okay. Just like Superman was okay. It was it was better than and again,
this isn't really setting the bar that high, but it was better than origins. And it was better than
the X3 last time. Which ain't saying much, but it was better. X2 has been the best so far. Marvel has
said it's holding off any phase three announcements, which is going to be the series of movies
after Avengers Age of Ultron until the next Comic Con at the absolute earliest. Which would
still be a year out from a mint Avengers Age of Ultron. Well, we still have like three movies to see
by next summer. So okay. Yeah, because you'll have lower the dark world and win or capture
where it's older. Which you won't get in the end until after Avengers Age of Ultron. Yeah.
So that's my third one. Oh, I thought Avengers 2 was coming out like in 2018.
2015. 2015. 2015. Oh, that's right. The year of the summer that I will have no money.
You never know. You may be the CEO of this wonderful empire making seven figures. That would be awesome.
And it would all go to the movies that summer. Yeah. We know that we know that June's paid for.
All all we can pray for is that the minds were a couple of years off. Guardians. Guardians. Guardians.
Oh, that's right. Guardians of the Galaxy isn't face to. Yeah. Thank you, Derek. I think the numbers
were just reverse. It's really like 5,102. But it has also as something we talked about last week
on the show that the plan is that Tony will construct an Ultron and not hang pan. Which I said,
I'm okay with it. It logically, it makes sense. Yeah, but you know that's going to put the fanboy
contingent into a tizzy field. I know it's saying people who had an issue with organic
web shooters are going to be ticked off about this. Regal theaters has announced that next Saturday
August the second. And we have a regal theater right here in our fair bird.
Legendary. Well, that's Friday night. Not Saturday night.
I can't believe we're going to do. You can see a midnight screening of Shark Nado. Wow.
Hey, we're getting the sequel. But Tara read us that she will not appear in Shark Nado too.
Too much going on, I guess. Yeah. I am zeroing probably these the money. So,
he'll probably not. I don't know if they killed them or not. I didn't. I have not seen Shark
Nado. I meant it to call Doc. Doc would know. Because apparently Shark Nadoing is a thing. Like,
you Shark Nado that dude. I don't know what that means. Oh, God. That's just
our urban dictionary. All right, Chad. Have you consumed your your tasty beverage?
It's it's down. It's on though. Okay. It's on before we go to the next song. I wanted to make sure
that you didn't have any, you know, you weren't in the middle of drinking anything. Okay.
I'm going to let this one breathe for a minute.
Do you know what that, no, what this is? Well, let it breathe. I'm going to start the story and people will, uh,
Ben Foster is going to start.
That's what entertains me. Yeah. Yeah.
Ben Foster is set to star in one of the three Lance Armstrong biopic center in the works.
Oh, thank you. Mirka.
Oh, America. Now go ahead and cue up highway to hell because that's where you're headed.
But the one Ben Foster's going to start was going to be directed by Steven Frier's. The other two
one is from working title films, but oddly has no title, but you know,
somebody call it minus more a set. And the other one is based on the book cycle of lies. It's being
developed, uh, directed by Jay Roach and produced by Jay Jay Abrams, bad robot film.
John Chew director of GI Joe retaliation, who is also scheduled to do the masters of the
universe film says that film is still on, but GI Joe three will probably come first,
depending on the rocks of availability, because they're trying to build this around him. And why
wouldn't you because the guys, he's on fire right now. Yeah, he's on fire. They touches it. It's money.
And dude, he's he's tweeting out three or four picks from the Hercules set every day. Wow.
And you know what the crazy thing is, he didn't make his much money is, um, oh,
start Tony Stark that, uh, Robert Ali Jr. Yeah, he made more money and did one movie. The
rock isn't like four movies and made less money, but this past year. Well, there's a reason for that. Yeah.
Well, I'm just saying you thought he'd make, which movie by the rock made over a billion dollars.
And he's done four of them. Well, and he took money off the back end. That's where
down he made his. Yeah. Yeah, he made the deal where he got all of his money from the box office
receipts. Yeah. That's why he made over $50 million. Yeah. His take was $50 million on the
on the Avengers alone. Uh, over $50, actually. Yeah. He's smart. He cleared $50. But he said that he, the
latest version of a script for Masters of the universe, he goes, don't worry. It's awesome. Do tell me,
do tell me, please, sir. I need to see a trailer that okay, they want the rock and
Masters of the universe. No, no, no. Oh, I Joe three. Okay. Okay. Okay. I thought they were waiting
for him to do both. I'm like, please don't tell me they're going to have him be at him. Please,
but I love a god. No, no, no, no, no. I can't see him in a blonde wig. Ain't happened it. No.
And, and from news from the department of, um, yeah, we probably should have known that.
What's going on over there? All right, sir. This next, this next headline. What are you doing?
I forgot to get the music for it. Oh, okay. John Williams is in for Star Wars Episode 7.
You think? Just have it. It made headlines. Also Disney has unveiled some concept art
by Ralph Mcquarie, a Christopher Mcquarie. And the logo for their next animated series,
which we call Star Wars Rebels. I am so jacked. It is set for Fall of 2014.
On Disney XD, which is currently carrying Avengers assemble, which next month will be carrying
Hulk agents of Smash. What you think when you saw it? Interesting. Oh, god, my, I need to see more.
My geek brain exploded. I mean, they're going to full orange tent to it. I mean,
oh, really? I, I, I had to pull it up for you to as soon as I saw it, I was like, I got a little
misty because the Clone Wars never interested me. This interest me because now you've got the
potential for Vader being involved, which is all I wanted to see. Yes. You have that. You have
all this timeline to go from three to four that they've pretty much left untouched on film.
Now they're doing it. Nice. Bring it on. Okay. I'll wait for him to finish drinking.
You done? Yeah. Okay. So I'll make sure because I don't want to go this next song for you
to do it. Okay. Kevin Smith and interview this week was asked if he was going to
crowd fund Clark's three to which he said to Richard to do stuff like that. Which, you know,
what I applaud him for that. I'm like, I'll just bankroll this myself. I said, well,
play, sir. Because apparently Spike Lee's not above kick starting something because that's what
he's been done. Tweet also said recently on Hollywood Babel on that they're doing a special
addition of Jersey girl and mirror max. In the works at mirror max. So they're just,
then I'm going to go back in the shoot additional footage at this point. I'm sure.
And apparently Beverly Hills cops four is back on as a film and they're taking the TV series
concept for it, which is his kid. No, no word if Brandon T. Jackson is still a golfer.
I'm out. Ask a fail. That's the third one was a piece of junk too. Movie new releases in places
that you watch movies this coming week. Get ready Wednesday. If you've got kids, you know where
they'll be. The Smurf's two hits theaters on Wednesday. Also, the Mark Wahlberg Denzel
Washington bill Paxton two guns. Which actually looks kind of cool. Yeah, got potential.
Let this next one. Are you kidding me? Nope. This is happening. What's the next one?
Top cat the movie. You've got to be joking me. What did I wake up in 1983? 83. Go back about
another decade. I was born in 1983. What's next? McGillica Rilla the movie. Give me a break.
Derek asked a question about Kevin Smith. I blame the weed for his actions in the last few
years. Bondongo also saw meet the millers with Jason Sudakis and Jennifer Anderson. He said it was
very good. So yeah, I'm going to take the kids. Yeah, I've seen it. Yeah, thank. And Russ has 1963
as a top cat came out. Oh, our chat room right on it. But they did they do a revival of it in the
80s with Heathcliff. I'm not that I can think of no. I'm sorry. I think that was something else.
Hold on a second. I do check on something. Good Lord. I mean, uh. Okay, two of the names attached to this
project. Danny Trejo. Wow. And Rob Schneider. Oh, God. Who is who? And I'll just,
Schneider's the new police chief. That's all I know. Also a movie called the Spectacular. Now that
looks really good. It's not like a coming of age drama. Um. Oh, don't even give you Derek. Don't
get me started on the Hong Kong fully and Marvin the Martian footage. You know, on IMDV, it says,
it's got a date of 2011. Maybe it's a re-release. I guess. But Ron Tomatoes has it coming out this
week. Danny Trejo is Griswell. Um, but have you seen the trailer for Europa report? No. This is about a
man, the mission to Mars. That goes. It's a Jupiter. Moon Europa. Hence the name. Sorry, not Mars.
The Jupiter moon of Europa. And things go horribly wrong. Shocking. And something like that movie
gravity that's coming up on our black man. That's that honor black man stars in Cuckney's versus
zombies. And that first word was too syllables. And that basically shone of the day. Pretty much.
Or 28 days later. A bunch of East Easters fight their way out of a zombie-infested
London led by an unlike unlikely gang of amateur bank robbers in Falmouth plucky
pensioners. Yeah, this is shit. A movie called Drift based on a true story about some Australian
surfers that start making a surfboard company and one of them start smuggling drugs in the
surfboard. Oh, yeah, I saw that. Yeah, that looks unstable. And rising from ashes.
Have you seen anything about this? Forest Whitaker's in it. Two worlds collide with cycling
legend Jack Boyer moves to Rwanda to help the first Rwanda national cycling team to get to the
Olympic games in London. Okay, so it's like cool runnings with bikes. That's kind of what I was
in a much different setting. Probably so is many funny people either.
Oh, let's see. Okay, DVD and blue right new releases. This Tuesday in places you get DVD and blue
right is from the movie that's been mentioned four or five times in this episode. G. I Joe retaliation
Justice League to flashpoint paradox, which basically basically it's kind of like the
Justice League does the butterfly effect, which by the way, we're remaking that. Yeah, I saw that.
But speaking of which I watched the spike Comic Con coverage, I wanted to punch something.
The only good thing about it was our coffee table was made out of a pinball machine. Okay, well,
there's two things. They also had a life size Lego Han Solo and Carbonite in the studio.
Did you see any of the names involved in this, by the way, in the flashpoint paradox? Yeah,
I'm impressed. They talked about it on the Disney Teen Beach movie.
And ECW unreleased volume two, which is being released by W. Okay.
Any tech talk stuff? Yeah, kind of a disturbing little story that I read and it's a game that I don't
think you even heard me talk about. But there was a little indie game released on Xbox Live,
Arcade that was unbelievably charming, called Fence. It's about a hat. Well, your character that
wears a Fence, but it's done in very, very eight-bit art style. And it's kind of paper Marioish.
If you recall that one, where you could turn a 3D plane and make it flat, and that's how this
kidlike was always walking up these towers. You would like get to the edge and then you would
flip the screen or flip the plane that he was walking on and it made levels of the areas of the
level that were inaccessible for now accessible because you changed the field of view.
Well, the developer was working on a sequel up until about four days ago. And then just very
abruptly said, canceled. I'm getting out of the gaming business altogether.
I mean, it was like he went scorched earth apparently. He'd been burned and was so tired of the
shabango involved with everything that he just, I'm sorry, I had to shoot horn that in there.
He just gave up, just flat out, gave up. And this thing was, I don't know how far along the
development cycle it was in, but he just said, screw it. I'm done. I'm walking away. Wow.
Yeah, it seems awkward. Yeah, it does. Does this thing had a, had a following? The first
phase is a really, really fun entertaining charming game. Oh, and the final batch of aliens colonial
Marines DLC has been released. Just here. Just no. Just there. Because please give us some more money.
Thank you. Well, because the game itself was horrible and broken when gear box released.
And it's, I mean, it's become a laughing stock. This is a game that was been that's been shown
at so many trade shows and it's been one of the worst cases outside of Duke Nukem of being in
development hell that you can imagine. What's wrong with gear box? I don't know. I mean, they're so
focused on the borderlands franchise that they're like to heck with everything else. We're focusing
all of our attention on borderlands. I guess some WWE created them there. Well, it's like they,
they had a pretty big team sent to work on aliens colonial Marines, but they wanted to get
borderlands too. So they pulled all that high tier talent away from aliens and put them on
borderlands. They could get that out because they knew that was going to be hit. Yeah. And then they
just watched this thing completely die on the vine. And the, you know, the guys at IGN when I was
watching this video review of it said anybody that's still paying for content for this game,
what's wrong with you? It's like the developer should have just said, you know what? If you've
got this much patience, we'll just give it to you. But there's still charger people 10 bucks
a pop for this DLC. It's like you've come out of cryo sleeping. You've got a face hugger on
your face. Do you really like the George Clooney Baton movie? Go out there and get your money back.
Oh, but wait. Then we'll get to that later. Okay. Oh, I chromecast. Okay.
Oh, no, no, no, not the George Clooney Baton. There. All right. It's less time.
Thanks. We finished every show with the list. The pendulum swings back to Chad this week.
I'm going to explain your research. I caught a little bit of a, of a talk show that I listened to
on occasion on on serious exam that where they were discussing this topic. And it really intrigued
me. So I kind of started taking a personal inventory. And every now and then you see a movie that
is just wretched. But the soundtrack is a darn good soundtrack. Yeah. Yes. You know, you'll have
a collection of good songs or just one song that really stands out. They're like, wow, that
that music almost made the movie worth watching, but not really full to the head right. So I put
together a list of 10 movies that are better than the film they were featured in. Number 10.
Number 10. Was this the first one of the second one? It's a first one, right? It was the first one.
I like the first one. But do you really remember all that much from mannequin? Other than that?
Andrew McCarthy, Kim Cotral, Mishak Taylor. She was a mannequin that came to life because of some
ancient Egyptian curse. There was a scene where he was making out, whether it was that she turned
back into a mannequin and somebody caught them. Mishak Taylor was over the top gay in it. They
left on a hot air balloon at the end. Spoiler alert. Pretty keep going. Sounds like he knows a
loo. Just waiting for you to just get done stopping me in the groin. You asked the question, sir.
Stopping you. If there's anything that you take away from this movie, the one thing you take
away from this movie is pretty much this song. It's not a movie that you go back and revisit
over and over again. But this song has probably been butchered in karaoke bars. You could
probably attest to that. I cannot confirm or deny that because there are certain songs in that
we'll have to do that if we done that list before. No, but we need to. The infamous list. We'll do
the infamous list soon. But that song is not on my personal list. Now my brother Kim,
Devon Pike, friend of the show, Jamie. I don't know. But for me now. Number nine.
Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine. Nine.
From white nights featuring a ballet dancer and a tab dancer, a film that if I remember correctly,
Helen Mirren met her husband to be. Because Taylor hacked her character this film and she played
a ballerina. Love this song. Great song. Never on the camera show the movie. Oh, by the way,
we want to take one in tight track. Russell's niece is going to be on a local team pageant tomorrow.
So good luck to her. But yeah, and again, but at this time, what was this 86? Yeah,
why don't we actually could do no wrong? Yeah. Because dancing on the ceiling at
yeah. Yeah. It was right around the corner, I think. Number eight. And you can say this for a lot
of songs that she did in her films. But this wasn't necessarily her film. Yeah, this wasn't her film.
This was vision quest. This was vision quest. And for those of you wondering, I don't look this up.
I literally have that much crappy knowledge in my head. If 1985's vision quest, this is crazy for
you from a data. One of my favorites songs are great song. And this is one of those songs that
takes me to a specific place in a specific time. Because, you know, when I think he'll have
me plays on that. He was a 7th grade. Was he a college wrestler? Or was he a high school wrestler?
This one I can't give you. And again, I can do it. And it was one I can do. And it was it wasn't his
love interestland if you aren't he? No. I love him. And he beat. But just it was a snooze fest. It was just one
of those movies that you was it was very easy to forget about. And when you hear that title,
you're thinking it's going to be something like, you know, the sword and a sorcerer or something.
It was actually in 1985. Yeah. Matthew, Mo Dean, and Linda, Fiorentine. Okay.
Who else is this thing? Anybody know, Daphne, Zuniga, was in this? Really?
Yeah. Forest, Whittaker was in this. God. James, Cameron was in this.
But do you remember the poster for this? It was just him and her standing like really much
but hugely on the poster was featuring the new something. Yeah. Yeah. It was like the selling point.
Madonna will get him in the theaters because at that point had desperately she and she has listed as
singer at club. And from she was bar patron. William Perry was wrestler. William Perry.
I think it's that William Perry. 85. Yeah. Yeah.
The refrigerator. And Fondango says vision quest was great. It also had lunatic fringe by red
rider with Tom Cockrieg. The life is a highway guy. But still, the song is better than
Emily. Number seven, debate the greatness of the song that I will punch you in the throat. Right.
Because this is what I'm my leaders. Sure he divorced. What if his wife is via fax. But that's a different story.
A very, very forgettable film. But an absolutely unforgettable song.
More Rachel Ward Jeff Bridges. You don't want to get this confused with.
It's a keyless. I'm really this song. And the name of this song is the name of the movie.
That's how forgettable this film was. Yeah. James Woods, Alex Karris.
This time reading, I'm fine, baby. Suzy Kurtz.
It's about it. There are some other greatness in this, musically, because Kid Creole and the
Coconut's male curiosity came out of this movie as well. And I love that song. Why would IMDB
with this film suggest natural porn killers? I'm just saying. Now there's another song on this list
that they suggest with this film. Oh, there is. Okay. Number five or six. Six.
Shimon.
Talk about weirdness. A great, great song from a movie that was a sequel to a movie that
probably shouldn't have existed in the first place. I got ahead of a second link with
my, it was the sequel to Willard. Okay. Which they remade with a very whacked out crisp and
clever. Was it neat? Oh, he's kind of pretty much, yeah. But this is one of those songs that
really put him on the map as a solo artist. That was the sixth correct. Yes. Number five
actually has two different movie references, but it's only on the soundtrack to one. Right.
Because the opening to this song
comes from young guns, right? Which a lot of people would sit there and scratch their heads.
They, like, I know that, but I don't know that. And that was always funny when this song
will come in like, man, you, and a staple of karaoke and our favorite karaoke bar.
But from above the rim, one of the, if I were to make a list of summer songs, this song is
on that list. Oh, yeah. You just put this song on. You roll the windows down. You put the top
down and you let life happen. That's what this song is. Well, you know what? The next song,
you get pretty much the same thing about it. And who was in above the rim? Two Pock. I know this
song can kind of be a beating to some people. Anyone looked above the rim for him? He's gonna
right now. Yeah, I'm just saying that we're going to weigh in some burning macro in it.
Oh boy, love burning mag, but could do it without the weigh in. And this song, this song here
1988. I mean, radio just played the heck at that and don't worry. The happy also from this
sound. Yeah. Was supposed to be the next big Tom Cruise Breakout. But you know what? I liked
cocktail. It was this movie. It was like cocktail. Cocktop, yeah. And the very hotllism is
shoe. That could be a list. There might be a list coming of my top 10 unhealthy crushes. She
would be on that list. I know who's at the top. Yes. Kelly Lynch, Gina Gershon.
Chris Owens. Who's that? I know the name. And what was Ryan? Was it Ryan Brown? Is that his
nice name? Ryan Brown. They do from ethics. They do taught him. Chris Owens was that one of the
agents chasing Bruce in red. He was also in the incredible Hulk. I liked this film. I guess.
I'm not necessarily saying that the film was bad. But the song is more memorable than the movie
words. And what was the the lamest part of the video? Oh god, I could tell you who played the
bongos. John Stamos. Oh, do you remember this? No. Really? Watch the video
through this song. John Stamos is quite, because remember he's the unofficial
other beach boy. Like he's toured with it. So is that why they did that episode of Full House? Yes. Wow.
Because you're just seeing the rippers where you nighted on Fallen last week. Really? Yes. Wow.
Pretty awesome. I mean, I'm in a buddy of mine. Well, last one testament. Just for telling
what Derek spoke up quickly. Stamos. John Stamos is probably. We're wait. Number four.
This is number four. Okay. Number three. Yes. And they introduced reference the other version
of that song. I told him if you ain't got in the in the music bank. We could hopefully go with that.
What is it? Yeah. I think I've got that covered. But see, whatever I think of this song,
I think of what a debug he was to weirdo. Yeah. Yeah. But it happened anyway. Right?
Because he doesn't have to have the permission. Right. Exactly. But see, I like dangerous minds.
I thought it was a good film. But I remember. I remember nothing from that film other than it was
the 15th we make up to serve with love. But the one thing that you always come away with from this
movie is this song. God, I forgot that they did a TV version with any pots out your Lord the year after.
George the Nudo is in this Courtney B. Vance. Let's see. That's all I thought was a good flick.
Just not as good as this song. I thought she might have taken herself a little too seriously in this film.
Probably. Was this this was post Batman return, right? This was oh yeah. I don't
remove the Texas. This is 95. Actually, so she still thought she was Catwoman if people were scared
Yeah, 96 was the TV show again with any pots. We went from a shell fight for to any pot to the
chick that was a receptionist and ghost busters. What do you want? Number two.
Can't debate this. As is the one the vision quest for us referenced. Absolutely. And he didn't
not live to see the album. That blows my mind every time I think about it. This is the same
guy that did instant replay if you remember that disco debacle. But I love this song. I've
sung this on a karaoke. I'm not ashamed to say it. Very weird video too. Because he had already died.
So they had to do something. No, I mean he was in the video. He was working at a diner. This
chip comes in and seems from the movie you're playing on the TV. That's what he did. The movie part
of it. He wasn't in the movie. Yeah, right. Yeah. But he's like working behind the bar and
she comes and pulls this video up on a video jukebox. And then he starts lip syncing to her.
This could be one of my favorite. This is the number two. This is the silver medal.
What? I have no idea what I'm saying to you. I have a steel chair with your name on it.
But I love this song. I love this song. I love this song. I'm sure people are going to be shocked
if he didn't make this list. Although he gets a huge honor of mention once we get past number one.
Now, now we're going to we're going to very delete a little bit because I'm going to go the second
day. Good good good good. The one A to one because this sound like actually had three big
singles. But the other one I didn't really care for. You talked about the the jewel. Well,
then there's four. The pump floor. Well, did they have a single vote? Well, it was the
A side and a B side. Remember the beginning is the end is the beginning and the end is the end.
Tung tied now. This was the other big single. The third big single off the album. If you count full of
games. If I can get the song to play. Awesome video to. I didn't pause it. There we go.
There we go. Here we go. You said this one up. Just past the torch to me when we're done.
So that's what happened. I had a macro view. No, it wasn't done. Deal with it. Love this video.
For the block. We're just ripping the mask of the mask of the mask of the mask of the mask of the mask of the mask.
Which then just feeds this. Probably the biggest single off the soundtrack and
and the first time I heard this song, I knew it was going to be hit. Like I called my mom in
the room like you have to hear this. Well, we go from you to his hold me.
Through me, kiss me, kill me. To the song that my wife walked down the aisle towards me
for kiss morose. See you in a lot. And you're wedding. I saw him with you at the first time with
the second time. When Batman really jumped off the track, I would debate him.
One earlier because I really didn't like returns. I dug returns but whenever Schumacher took over
and drove this thing into a wall, the saving grace for me was this song.
One of the greatest, it was craftfully written songs the last 30 years.
That's the list. That's the list of other than my honorable mention where I have to give it to
if you've got if you still got the song queueed up. I do not. So I can make it happen.
Because I have to work prints in here somehow. And I know some people would argue that
that the album for purple rain was better than the movie, but I love that movie because it's
what got me started into. But this song here, you could basically play the entire album
and it was better than this movie. But the, again, not that bad. Sir, sir. I'm going to say it,
sir. I mean, under the cherry moon had entertaining qualities about it. And again, a great soundtrack,
kiss alone is worth it. But this song here, when he does this live, something happens in
the building he's playing in it, that you cannot describe. I've been watching this movie forever.
Well, the movie's got awful, but graffiti bridge was a terrible sequel quote unquote to purple rain.
It looks like a high school music. Yeah, I was all shot on sound stages of that. It looks like
yeah, it look bush league is all get out. But this song here, joined repetition
is as close to perfect as he's gotten in almost the entire decade of the 90s.
This song was practically flawless.
I've, the, the live renditions I've heard of this will give you goosebumps when he played at the
O2 Arena and he pulls this song out of a hat. It's electrifying. The guitar solo at the end
will, if, if you're not a fan before you listen to this song, you're a fan when he's done.
But in Derek's right, that does have the time on it.
Oh, yeah. All right, that's the list. Thanks everybody for listening.
