Feelin' a little weird right now.

And I meet that in the most literal of senses.

So it's a little over a half mile.
So it's going to be a 500 mile race.
So the better part of the 1000 laps.

As I'm getting older, I'm finding that more people that have influenced my child
and in one fashion or another are shuffling this mortal coil.
And this particular segment is no exception.
On last Thursday, October 17th, two days before his 85th birthday.
Am I reading that right?
Yes.
Two days before his 85th birthday, we lost Louis Louis Schimer.
Now that name may not mean much to our listening bass the empire.
Do you want to say his name?
However, if you are of my age or somewhere within a decade either way,
this guy was an influence on you.
It's pronounced Schimer.
He was a producer.
But the main thing that you'll remember him, he found it a company called Filmation.
Now you may be saying yourself, oh wait a minute Rob, that rings a bell.
Filmation.
Mostly known for he-man and the masters of the universe.
He helped create that show.
And let me tell you something, friend.
This is, I'm talking the original he-man and the masters of the universe.
I lived on this show as a kid.
Now he started out doing secondary voices for various productions,
like Nikima, Tarzan's Monkey Companion in Tarzan,
Lord of the Jungle, the cartoon from 1976 to 1981.
He also did Brave Star.
His daughter, Erica Schimer, did supporting female voices and occasional voice acting
for the young boy characters.
She would star in Shira.
I mean this is, this was a huge deal.
And it just makes me very, very sad that he has passed away at the age of 85.
He also had some voiceover work as a narrator for shows like,
or intercom voices for Jason of Star Command.
What of my favorite shows ever?
Please don't remake that.
Also, space Academy, if you remember, that he also did some overcoms
in the live-action series The Ghost Busters.
Not the Bill Murray Ghost Busters, which they would call the real Ghost Busters.
But it was another show called Ghost Busters.
It was kind of more obscure, but it would air more after the Bill Murray film
would come out.
He also, he also did the voices of Batmite, the Batcomputer, and Clayface
in the new adventures of Batmine, the filmation version in 1977.
Russell also brings up Fat Albert.
I'm trying to see if he's listed on that for that.
I mean he may have, I think that was under the filmation deal,
but that was mostly, that was mostly Cosby's deal.
Graduated from Carnegie Tech University,
now called Carnegie Mellon.
The Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts in 1952.
He passed away on Thursday, two days before his 85th birthday.

Now maybe it's part of me getting older, I don't know,
but men's shows are getting axed a lot quicker.
It seems like every year we're getting shows that are like getting five minutes in
and getting canceled.
Let's go in on there.
Part of me need to get a sip of my tasty beverage.
NBC has already killed two more of their shows.
Most notably, well there's only two.
So I can maybe most notably because there's only two.
Welcome to the family, which I really didn't care for.
I mean, when your ad campaign is WTTF, welcome to the family.
I see what you did there.
That one's gone as well as, and I want to say this didn't get more than one or two episodes.
The Blair Underwood Iron Side remake.
Gone.
Viacom Deos to that one.
I mean, that thing didn't even get a chance.
Not sure exactly what happened there.
But NBC has told that one.
Hit the bricks, Buster.
Now on the flip side of that coin, a CBS has ordered full season orders for the crazy ones.
That is the Robin Williams vehicle with Sarah Michelle Geller.
Also the millers.
That is a Thursday night show that they have on that network currently.
With will our net is in that show.
And as well as mom, the Allison Jenny vehicle.
Oh, I could with Anna Ferris.
There's also in that.
I saw a couple of clips from mom and didn't really do much for me.
The crazy ones, I haven't talked to anybody who enjoys that show.
And the millers, I don't know anybody that watches it.
But I like will our net.
It looks like both bridges isn't it as well?
No.
So there's that.
Don't we'll talk about that in NFL talk.
If you are a fan of the Andy Sandberg Andre Brower vehicle, Brooklyn 99.
Fox has said, OK, let's get a whole season out of that show.
And not only that, but Brooklyn 99 is going to get the post Super Bowl slot for Fox.
So right after the, right after the Super Bowl, you're going to get an episode of Brooklyn 99.
So if you're a fan of that, there is that.
Now, we don't get to talk a lot on this show about,
about when celebrities help other people.
We do take a lot of time on this show and we make fun of celebrities because we can murka.
But when a celebrity does something way out of the box to help somebody out,
I also want to cover that on this show as well.
And our, our helper this week is Ellen DeGeneres, whether you like her,
whether you don't like her, don't care.
Personally, I could take her leave her.
She's got talent.
I remember her back from an old Fox show called Open House.
That was about real estate agents.
Love that show early in the Fox career.
And also remember her original HBO one night stand.
Very, very funny.
But she's in a, she's, actually she's not in the restaurant.
She's, she gets wind of this post on Facebook of a waitress in New Hampshire,
who saw two people that remembers of the National Guard and during the government shut down and all that.
She went ahead and paid their tap.
It was 2775.
Just to thank them for their service and she says, you know,
I don't blame you for what's going on and you're helping us out,
so let me help you.
Ellen DeGeneres gets wind of this and gets a hold of this,
and says, you know what, here's the 2775 back.
I'm covering that.
Because I appreciate what you did.
Fair enough.
That's good enough.
She gets to be on TV.
She breaks even.
Because if you know me, one of my things, one of my philosophies is,
break even to win in my book.
And be honest with you, break even to win.
But then she goes ahead and gives this young lady a check for another 10 grand as a tip.
That's amazing.
I mean, you may save yourself.
You know, 10 grand is a drop in the bucket.
Whatever.
10 grand's 10 grand.
I don't care who y'all.
There's only one of the generous, maybe not as much.
But she gave that money to this girl.
A $10,000 tip and gave her a 50 inch TV.
And the genius of it is, she didn't have to do that.
She wasn't in the restaurant.
She just got wind of the thing on Facebook.
This young lady, who was very proud of something she did,
which I'm on board with.
You know, I mean, there's that part of my mind that says,
would I put that on Facebook?
If I did it, I probably wouldn't.
But this girl helped somebody else who is serving this country.
Whether you like who's in charge, whether you don't like who's in charge.
We support troops on any form.
The old saying says, you may not support the war,
but you always support the warrior.
So thank you Ellen DeGeneres for stepping outside of yourself
and getting back to somebody who gave back.
Much respect to Ellen DeGeneres.
And she'll be dancing about it.
I'm sure somewhere.
If you're a fan of how I met your mother as the lovely
and talented Mrs. Irvin is,
James Vanderbeek will be returning to that show.
I believe they said for episode 12,
where he has to do it the past of one of the characters in that show,
who was a teen idol at one point.
So there is that.
Also, congratulations to Tina Fey and Amy Poler.
They will be hosting the Golden Globes for the next two years.
Very much enjoyed their work this year,
hosting the show.
Very funny.
I don't care what you say.
So they'll be doing the next two.
Marilyn Manson.
He'll be his voice.
Will be the shadow on once upon a time.
So if you watch that show,
get prepared to hear his creepiness.
And also,
we talked on the show a couple of weeks ago about
Betty Weitz off their rockers getting canceled by NBC.
See, lifetime will carry that show.
So if you're a fan of Betty Weitz off their rockers,
which is like pumped with old people,
season three will debut in 2014 on the lifetime network.
So some of you,
if you like that show,
may need to unblock that from your channel lineup.
I don't really care either way.
I don't really watch that,
but I don't really block networks either.
Unless I had their duplicates of HD networks.
I really don't care.
That's not a bother me.
I'm not ashamed to say it.

Huge win for the Golden Knights.
Then of course your big day for college football is Saturday.
So let's go over it.
Just some highlights.
Since the Nadi over Connecticut.
Huge 41 to 16.
Michigan State Blanks Peru 14 to nothing.
Vanderbilt upsets number 15 Georgia 31 to 27.
And if you know anything about college football,
you went away to make them an event.
He beat somebody.
They did and they beat the 15th ranked team in the country.
Also in another big upset.
Tennessee beat South Carolina by a safety.
No ball coach took kind of kind of took it in the shorts there.
23 to 21.
Texas Tech.
Number 16 over West Virginia by 10 Oklahoma State.
Over TCU 24 to 10 TCU on ranked right now.
My beloved Gators.

That was a great game went back and forth the whole time.
Chad and I yesterday were at the state fair.
Texas kind of keep in the blind eye on the show for that one.

Because my thing with the Seahawks.

They look great.
You're thinking, you know, this is a team that can go deep in the playoffs.
This is a team that can make things happen.
And ride around Thanksgiving day to side.
They're going to mail it in and melt it down.
Clemson to me is the same way.
Number three team in the country.
Boy, kid is a beast.
Stop.
At home in what they call Death Valley.
But they call it Death Valley.
Florida State goes into Clemson.
With Jimmyus Winston.
I'm gonna say now this kid's the truth.
And Texas, you passed on him.
I'm just letting, I'm gonna remind you of that from time to time.
time. He goes into Clemson and Florida State takes Clemson to the wood shed 51 to 14.
This was a beat. I mean, final numbers for Winston. I think he had 444 yards or something
in saying like that. Let me see if I can pull off the box score for you.
22 of 34,444 yards, 3 touchdowns and a pick. He also had 7 rushes for 2 yards and a touchdown.
This kid is a beast. They hung 565 on Clemson.
565 yards a total offense. The Clemson 326. Clemson commits 4 turnovers in this game.
Do I want to admit anything about good about Florida State? I don't.
But respect, respect children. That's all I'm saying.

out of every list this week. And my beloved USF lost to the buy 41 to 3.

importance, just alphabetically. First up, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. I believe they were
up last year. Don't know enough about them, but obviously somebody thinks they should be in
so I'm not going to argue. Next up, the Nile Rogers project don't as chic.
This is them. I don't think any of us can say they heard this song and didn't at the same time here.
Oh, skit in the all-skit direction. You put Nile Rogers in anything. That's magic. I'm saying in.

I'm in. This guy had success with Genesis. He had solo success. He's a madman.
Incredibly talented. Really knows how to think outside the box when it comes to his performances.
I mean, I once saw a tour he did a few years ago where he did a whole number inside of one of those
big inflatable bubbles that you walk around in. Didn't make any sense, but it was cool.
Big fan of Peter Gabriel. He should be in by now. Also.

was kiss more of a band that would go in the rock and roll hall of fame or are they more
a band that should be in the marketing hall of fame.

Nirvana. Up. I believe this would have been the first year they would have been eligible because I
believe the rule is 20 years after your first single. No, that would have been last year.
Maybe year before.
I'm okay with it. I've said about this Nirvana on this show before.
Not necessarily what I feel one of the greatest bands in the history of ever, but I will never
deny what they did for music. I mean, they basically ushered in grunge. They kicked the door in.
You know, a lot of guys that are like a hard rock or metal band said that Nirvana killed air metal.
Nirvana killed it when they brought in grunge.
You know, curtain over selling God bless them. He's tried, but you got Dave growing that band.
That dude needs to be in the hall of fame by himself. Dave grow is a beast.
I will never deny what they did for the music industry put him in another band. Not a lot of people know.
I love this song. This song to me, your desire to be in a loan. A band called the Replacements.
Kind of an Alt Punk late 80s band. This comes from the soundtrack of say anything with John Cusack.
If you don't have this soundtrack, go pick it up as soon as you get finished listening to the show because it's
amazing. This song called within your reach. Almost hit the post on that.
I don't know if they deserve to be in the hall of fame, but I too love this song.
A lot of underground all music kind of people hold them in very high regard.
We'll have to see. I don't know if they're going to get their first baller.

A blues artist named Link Ray. I hadn't heard of him but they were talking about it on the
Bob and Tom show the other day and dude tomato said he is one of the greatest that he's ever met. So I trust
you to made up. Also, a Don says Chris is a fact checker of the show to get nominated for the
Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of your first record. So there's your qualifier.
Also up for induction this year if they get elected. This band. Yes.
And know they did not name themselves after doing a Brian.
I'm in on these guys. A lot of people take this song and it's not representative of who they are.
It's the only song I have to deal with it. But I'm in on these guys. I don't like this song.
It's one of those songs that kind of takes me to a specific time and twice in a while.

I'm in. So an interesting eclectic class being nominated to be inducted in the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame. And a Don, you'll probably have to correct me on this. But if I'm not mistaken,
only five get in. And there are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,
16 artists and or bands on this list. Only five of them are going to get in. We'll know who
more I believe right through the first of the year. Then they'll be the big induction ceremony.
Yeah, HBO will tape it in March and then show it usually in May. I DVR every year because I love
some of the performances. So there you go. Fans of teeny-bopper music. Austin Mahone has a blood
clot in his throat and has to cancel his tour. So there's that. That's don't you don't wish
that on anybody. But we talked about a Hall of Fame. There's another Hall of Fame.
That's going to be opening in London in Camden in 2014. It's another music Hall of Fame.
Whereas to be called the music Hall of Fame because Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was already taken.
And let me ask something here. Why does the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland?
God bless you Cleveland. But why does the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame close at five o'clock in the
afternoon? Doesn't that seem a little unrock and roll? Does anybody have it in me? Just saying.
But the thing about this Hall of Fame that's going to the music Hall of Fame is going to be opening
in Camden in 2014. They're actually going to be featuring some of the holograms of both living
and dead artists that will actually interact with the guests coming through. And you can actually
purchase a DVD of the moment where they interact with you if you want to. And so there's that.
Russ is talking about a rest in peace. The Cal Country bump can smith. I don't really have anything
to queue up on that sir, but I will recognize that you put it in there. The name sounds familiar.
You have a new room to play Freddie Mercury in the Biopix. Since Daniel Radcliffe
turned it down, your latest room is Ben Winshaugh. You probably know him from Skyfall. He's the new
queue. You also will know him from Cloud Atlas. He was a cabin boy. He was one of the characters
he played in Cloud Atlas. He did a version of the Tempest where he played Ariel. He was in a
criminal justice TV mini series. I believe it's overseas. He played Arthur and I'm not there.
Most recently, you know him is the new queue from Skyfall. He's rumored to be the next one to be
recorded to play Freddie Mercury in the Queen Biopix if he chooses to do so. I like to kill
those great Skyfall. So I'm cool with it. And if you know about Arcade Fire, this was the
band that was on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. Not a huge fan, but you know
they're the kids of the close and they're here like them. They actually did a quote-unquote
secret surprise show recently, where it was this very, very small club. And a bunch of people came out
and it was at 80 Bitty stage. And so the manager of the producer comes out and says we only have room
for three of the members on stage. So here are the reflectors. And here come these three people with
these huge paper-mishay heads that look like people in the band. And they dance around and stuff.
And that was it. And people were like, it's crap dude. Well then what happened was another stage
on the other side of the club, a full-blown stage at House all seven members of the band,
opened up all of a sudden. And so now the people that were in the back were in the front
and the people that were in the front were now in the back. So then they did their whole deal.
And that was kind of funny. I give our cake firecredits for that. We'll play kids.
And they did seven or eight songs or something like that. So there's that.

because you've got 150 surveys saying would you watch this network? Yes, I would watch the network,
but it has to be on the air. You're more on. Just get it done. I don't understand what's holding
you up. Especially now, you actually have a network. You could probably gain for no
part intended because we thought S. Quiet TV was going to take over G4. It ends up taking over the
style network. Take the G4 spot, guys. If I'm not mistaken, that's a universal property.
Get it. Because that way, you've already got it there. A lot of that audience is going to
translate over, but they're losing more and more of that audience every week because G4 is not
doing any original program. Don says that the baseball season was long because we had the hit
game show. That doesn't make the season a lot of them. That makes the season more fun, sir. And how
dare you, sir? No, I'm kidding. Let's talk raw.
Again, shout out to Alamo Drafthouse. We had so much fun last week. It was myself. It was my
co-host, Chad. It was his lovely wife. It was a pretty decent friend of the show. John Dock
House, a friend of the show, Andrew King of bowling, Beckham, all sitting together. I've already
reserved my seats in the back row. I'm just letting you know. We had a lot of fun, so shout
out to Alamo for it. First of all, for even doing this. It is one thing that we've always
had a struggle with, is it's finding a place to watch raw that would actually give the show

wrestling logic. But still have a little bit of regular logic in there. I'm just saying.

I was the champion of get impact on the road. What I was not the champion of
was having impact only pseudo live every other week. It still wasn't live because you were still
out in one hour taped away and they were taping two weeks at a time which still made no sense to me.
But that's just me. Talking a little bit about impact itself. What are we doing with Magnus?
Are we going to turn him heel? Is he going to face? Is he going to twine? Are they trying to make
him into a disgruntled guy? Like the British stone cold Steve Austin? I don't know what we're
doing with him. He's a great technical wrestler. Mike skills could use a little work. Not going
to lie. But I like the guy. I just don't know that he's a top tier guy. I just don't.
I think he's great in a supporting role like he is in the main event Mafia.
But I don't know that you turned him heel. That could happen tonight. Easily because he's
wrestling sting. And Robbie E wins a match. So maybe he's not the three and B of impact.
I'm not sure what's going on there. And we've got this new guy Ethan Carter the third EG3.

or don't carry one. I'm just saying to carry the kids sized belt it just freaks me out.
It's probably irrational, but it still freaks me out, man.

I thought CM Punk was pretty cool, but Frenchy wins with a bit show big strength.

in years upon years upon years and I'm not being facetious. This guy sold that knockout punch
like Frenchy unloaded on him. And of course WWE selling it, saying it's got a concussion,
all that good stuff, but great cell by him. Okay, so bromance, we're in the gauntlet match,
they are the number one contenders to the tagging titles on, uh, bound for glory tonight.
They'll wrestle, they'll wrestle, gunner, and game start.

First of all, we do want to say a Viacun deos to the great coach, Bum Phillips,
who passed away at the age of 90. This past weekend, former coach of the oilers,
father of former cowboy coach, Wade Phillips, a man who just, that's a man's man.
Great coach. When I heard that he had passed away, I was kind of like,
Oh, come on, seriously? Is it really? After the, after the dude from filmation and now this,
I mean, 90 years old, I just turned 93 weeks earlier. He had coached at the high school college
and professional levels. He played football at Lamar, which is now Lamar University in Beaumont.
But right after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Marines, and he became one of the
elite Marine Raiders. After he returned from the war, he completed his remaining year on his
degree at Lamar, and then enrolled at Steven F. Austin State, lettered in football in
1940, 1949. During the 50s and 60s, he coached high school football.
Then he also coached at Texas A&M University for Bear Bryant, the University of Houston for
Bill Yeoman, SMU for Hayden Fry, and Oklahoma State. He was also for one season in 1962,
the head coach at the at U-TAP. In the late 60s, he became a defensive assistant coach for
the San Diego Chargers, and in 1973, he was brought in as the head coach of the Houston Oilers.
Actually, you know, Gilman, I'm sorry, said Gilman, who we played under at San Diego,
took him with him to Houston. And then in 1975, he came to head coach in general manager
through 1980. He later worked as a football color analyst for TV and radio,
had a horse ranch in Goliad, Texas. Of course, his son,
Wade Phillips, very influential, a great man by all accounts,
by Acondio Sir, you will be missed.

the snow hits. Let's get that road game out of the way. Cleveland at Kansas City. That could
either be a slaughter or it'll be a shootout. It's going to be one of the other. There's no
middle ground there. Pittsburgh. Don's of a love in Pittsburgh. See, there's will be at the, I'm sorry,
at the Oakland Raiders. That starts your slew of late games. So Don, your boys will be playing
mid afternoon. The Giants will be at Cincinnati. That could get ugly. Washington at Denver,
depending on which Washington team shows up and depending on what's about to happen in indie.
Maybe Denver gets beat and starts to limp a little bit. I don't know. Atlanta at Arizona,
that'll be boring. You're Sunday night game next week. Green Bay at Minnesota. That's a rival
regain. So you know, both teams are going to bring it Monday night next week. Seattle at St. Louis,
depending on which St. Louis team shows up. The team that showed up last week and just
swamped or is the team that showed up the three weeks before that and just stuck up the joint.

a Thursday night double feature. I don't know if I can handle two football games on a school night.

Thursday night. I'm just sorry. I don't know the things to watch on Thursday nights. But I don't

week in city is chapter two drops from 7 to 10. Making $1.53 million for a six week total of
$80 million on a five million dollar budget. Number nine dropping from number five is the
Ben Affleck just in Timberlake. Gemma App Atterton film runner runner makes 1.625 million dollars
losing over a thousand theaters. 17 million dollars on a 30 million dollar budget. That's not going
to be good. The fifth is state. Daybues at number eight with 1.714 million dollars but has the
worst debut of the year. This is a $28 million dollar budget. It's made 1.71 million dollars in
1700 theaters. Up from 11 to 7 is enough sad. $1.8 million dollars for a five week total of
10.8 million dollars. Prisoner stays steady at six. Making another $2.1 million dollars for a
five week total just over $57 million dollars it has beaten its budget. Escape plan Schwarzenegger
and Stallone. Daybues at number five 9.8 million dollars. Do not have a budget on that.
Claudia with the chance of meatballs two drops from the bronze middle to fourth place.
10.1 million dollars for a four week total of 93.1 million dollars on a 78 million dollar budget.
Your bronze medal this week. Daybues with Carrie. Chloe Grace Marets where her mother said she
could not watch her in it. Daybues with $17 million dollars it is already over half way to budget.
It has a 30 million dollar budget so it'll probably make its money back.
Captain Phillips stays steady at the silver medal with $17.3 million dollars for a two week total of
53 million dollars. It's only 1.7 off of budget so it will make its money back.
And gravity third week in a row number one another $31 million dollars for a three week total
of a hundred and seventy point six million dollars. It has almost doubled its budget.
Don says he saw a skate plan. He said there's a big twist that nobody saw coming about a
third of the way through but beyond that it was okay. He said he recommends that you see it in a
matinee at the theater if you're going to go see it. I want to see a skate plan. I do.
I don't know why but I do.
So let's get to your headlines from the movies this week.
Congratulations to Mike Myers. He and his wife and not they are expecting their second
child in the new year. What you will not hear is the obvious joke out of me. I am a better than that.
These Chad tells me I'm better than that. But we did want to say congratulations and
muscle top to those kids expecting their second child.
We have some casting news in a Jurassic world. Josh Brolin is in talks to star in the fourth
installment in the Jurassic Park series expected to release in the mega summer of 2015 when none of us
will have any money because it will all be with the studio. So take that for what you pay for it.

Let me take a breather here for just a minute. You just have Chad to cover me here and he's not here tonight.
This solo visit. I don't know how how some of these guys do their own radio shows all the time.
Do it just by themselves. But then again, they have commercial breaks and stuff. We don't
do commercial breaks on this show because we love you that much. We're going to give you content for
probably two solid hours. I don't know if we're going to make two hours tonight, but we're going to
we're going to make we're going to hit every we're going to hit every headline.
Roberto Orsi and Alex Kurtzman currently worth getting on the new versions of van Helsing and the
mummy say that universal has a bigger plan to create a larger new universe for their classic monsters.
Where they're basically redoing everything. Now universal is saying we're not saying that,
but they're going to do it. Why not? I mean, that's a catch crop kids. Everybody loves a
classic universal monsters. The wolf man, the mummy, Dracula. We'd love them. The creature from
the Black Lagoon. We love them and we want to see more of them. I've got pinball games in my
in my iPad that has them in it because it's awesome. I want to see this happen.
Also, it has begun children. Zack Snyder began filming footage for Batman,
version of Superman or Superman versus Batman, whatever they're going to call it.
Started filming footage yesterday. Apparently part of the story takes place at a college football
game where Gotham City University is playing Metropolis University. So he went to a
small D2 or D3 school in Los Angeles and at halftime they staged the game.
Under armor made the jerseys. They're available online to see if you want to see them. I want a
Gotham City University jersey. I want to be number 77 and I wanted to say Batman. That's two
M's, B-A-M-M, hyphen, B-A-M-M on the back.
But I really don't. I really, the jerseys look great.
The Gotham City's are, they're black with gold numbering on them. They say GCU, right,
underneath the collar and then Metropolis ones are white with red writing and the M from Metropolis
is on the V of the collar. They were made by under armor. You can go see them on the web.
These things run sale. I want to custom one.
Don's being very confident. Thank you very much sir.
I feel like I'm doing a telethon by myself right now. I'm not sure what's going on. But filming has begun.
So kids, this is happening. We just need to see some footage. I want to see some footage of
Caval and Affleck. That's all I want. I don't ask much.
But I'm hoping under armor sells the jerseys. They didn't sell them for dark night rises.
But maybe they'll sell them for this. Sam Worthington announces that the avatar
sequels will start filming at this same time next year. So, early fall of next year, they will
start filming the avatar sequels. Thunder Smurf's two is due in December of 2016. Thunder Smurf's
three due in December of 2017 and Thunder Smurf's more in December of 2018. So Cameron is
giving our wallets a reprieve for a year and a half. So thank you for that sir. Also,
at a overseas convention this weekend, it is announced that there will be
Darth Vader television specials scheduled for the fall or winter of 2014.
Are these leading up to episode 7? We don't know, but we have been told that there will be
television specials that are Darth Vader's centric. Very interested in this. I mean, Disney is
pulling out the stops. They want to turn this thing into the promotional machine that it will
probably should have been all along. Just don't do it wrong. I'm just saying
I'm a little nervous, not gonna lie, but I trust Disney. Help me out.
Music, I'm so excited, music. We're doing movie new releases now.
Movie new releases this coming week. A movie that we'll be checking out on Tuesday. We'll have
probably have something up for you here in that brand. Maybe. I don't know. If you don't
subscribe and I too, it's a can tell you. The counselor. This looks really, really good.
Directed by the great Ridley Scott, written by the great Kormack McCarthy,
Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Rosie Perez,
and not Billy. There, there, that's the cast. A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he
gets involved in drug trafficking. This looks really good. Very excited about this.
Also this week, Jackass presents Bad Grandpa. If you're a fan of, if you're a fan of Jackass,
check that out. I know Chad is. He said he's kind of in, but he's kind of out, but the end of the
trailer makes it worth it for him. I don't know. Also a movie called Wild Salome. This has Al Pacino,
Jessica Chastain, Kevin Anderson, Roxanne Hart. Pacino takes us on a journey and he as he unravels
and reinterprets Oscar Wilds once banned in most controversial works. Salome, a sincelating tale of
lust greed and one woman's scorn. Cajarrad, Jial, come on now.
That's all I got about. Also a movie called Spinning Plates, which I have seen the trailer for,
and I am very interested in. The documentary about three extraordinary restaurants and the
people who make them what they are. A cutting-edge restaurant named the seventh best in the
world who's chef must battle a light threatening obstacle to pursue his passion. A 150-year-old
family restaurant still standing only because of the unbreakable bond with its community. And a
fledgling Mexican restaurant whose owners are risking everything just to survive and provide for
their young daughter. Very, very interested in this film. It's in, you know, me and documentaries.
It's got a bunch of awards put up for it. So if we can find that find it yourself, a local
art house that might be showing that as well. DVD and Blue Ray New releases on Tuesday.
The Conjuring. It's Halloween time. So Chris, you're going to get some Halloween films.
The Conjuring criterion does their version of the uninvited, which is a classic horror film.
Also, the, I don't know if you'd call this a horror film or not, some might.
The Owen Wilson Vince Vaughan movie The Internship makes its way to DVD and Blue Ray this week.
Also, the way way back a movie that I have been very, very interested in seeing
before midnight, which is part of the group of films with Ethan Hawke and uh ha, Julie, don't be
I believe. I'll look that up. Yes, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delby. This is the third in their series
that's been going on for a cheese for nine years. I think it's what's been going on with this.
And they come back and maybe these every once in a while. I enjoyed the first two.
Also, a movie called Only God For Gives. This is the one that came out a few months ago that
came and went about revenge and underground fighting and things of its nature.
A Morrissey 25 live. I was that was for chat if you'd have been here. A Morrissey raises a live
and DVD. Necessary evil. The villains of DC Comics could not be more interested in this if I tried.
Let me tell you something kids. Also, I give it a year. We talked about that recently
on this show. It didn't go, it didn't last very long, I guess.
Uh, Rose Burn is in this, a rave's ball, Alex McQueen, Steven Merchant, who I'm a huge fan of.
Many driver basically a couple gets engaged and then our newlyweds and then the families don't
think they don't last. And Hugh Laurie live on the Queen Mary. If you don't know Hugh Laurie
played a house, if you don't know a lot about him, he's a very accomplished jazz piano player.
And that's what this is him doing music. And I'm a huge fan. I've heard some of his work. The
dude can play. So there's that. We don't really have anything on tech corner this week. Not much
going on from a tech standpoint. We're probably going to have more in the weeks to come because we're
about four weeks away from both the PS4 and the Xbox One. So let's go ahead and go to the list.
We're going to see how this works out.
So what I'm saying about the list tonight, it sports all the time. Sports is year round, but
it's fall is a great time for sports because everything kind of intersects. Because you've
got baseball wrapping up, hockey's now going basketballs and preseason, footballs going. So all four
majors are going right now. Golf's going on NASCAR. There's that. But so I was thinking of myself
today, what are the 10 things that drive me nuts about sports? So I got I put together a top 10 list for you
and I'm just gonna throw it out there because I can't. Number 10, I want to talk about the NBA.
One of the things that annoys me of the NBA are the court side seats. The fans are too close to
the action for me in the NBA. You know, you had the governor earlier this year who got the beer
dumped all over him or you get servers getting hit in the head with stuff or fans like spike Lee,
anybody. The fans are too close to the action. And hockey, you're behind the glass and football,
you've got a fence in front of you. And baseball, you're away from it. Now baseball is still
pretty close, but it's not like the NBA. Just that's really ridiculous. Number nine,
we go to college football. For me, part of the point of college football is to play the game and
preparation for these young men to become professional football players in the NFL.
And in order to do that, some things need to reflect the NFL better. One of those things in
my personal opinion is stop stopping the clock on first downs. Now I know in the last couple of
years you've changed it to where they only stopped the clock until the ball is set. Because it used
to be first downs, stop the clock until the ball is snap. That made a college football game take
nine and a half days. Now they stop it until the ball is set. Do it like the NFL. The clock
continues to roll people. Let's get these guys prepared properly. Number eight, we go back to
the NBA. One thing I love about college basketball is you have some fouls that are what we
called one and one fouls, where you can get two free throws, but you only get the second one
if you make the first one. That speeds up the game a little bit. I'm okay with the one and one.
NBA put that in. Number seven, we go to the NFL. I do not like pro overtime. I love the way
college does overtime. Now the NFL's trying to make it more like that, but you're not close enough.
Let me explain you how overtime should work. Each team gets the ball on the 20.
Team one scores, team two gets a shot from from the 20. If the team two scores, team two then
gets the ball because now we're in double overtime. We go until one team scores and the other one
doesn't, or until one team scores a touchdown and the other one can't do it. Maybe one team
scores a field goal the other one can't get in. That's how you play and if you go to trip
all over time, you have to go for two if you score a touchdown. I love the way college does
over time. The NFL needs to do overtime the same way. Number six, college football. The way they
do pass interference. Don't like it. Because in college, a pass interference call is only
a 15 yard penalty. Well, if the offense happens 50 yards down field, then yeah, I'm going to
commit passing interference because I'm I'm not giving up 35 more yards. The NFL does that
right. In the NFL, if you have pass interference, it's at the spot of the foul, whether it's
five yards or 55 yards. That's where the ball gets stuck. That is the way pass interference
work. Number five, we go to baseball. I've said it on this show before. I'll say it again. I do
not like the DH rule and it's one of the biggest debated things in sports and it has been for years.
I'm a national league guy. I'm a Braves fan. I'm a Marlins fan in that order. I like it the fact
that pitchers have to hit because I've always said logically if there's one position on a baseball
team that should be able to hit it should be a pitcher because a pitcher should know what they're
looking for. And I don't like it. Oh, this guy's 84 years old. Put him as a DH. He can still hit
more pay him a bajillion dollars. No, you play offense and you play defense. This is not the NFL.
Just say it. Number four, we go to basketball. The last two minutes of an NBA game drive
meet crazy when we go in the foul, O Rama. The last two minutes of an NBA game take three and a
half hours because if it's close, we're going to foul and stop the clock. They're going to go the
line. Then we're going to hope you miss it. And then you know, I think if you if you are seeing
intentionally failing to stop the clock, I think the other team should get an extra free throw.
Stop this madness drives me nuts trying to go to Ben. You know, if if the heater plan
and it's two minutes left and they're within five, I got to go to bed. I'm sorry. I can't say
for the three hours. I can't do it. Number three, hockey. Can we get over time right?
Because it used to be, we play overtime and if nobody scores it's a tie, which drives me crazy
because they don't like ties. But now we're going to do a five minute overtime. It's going to be
four and four. If nobody scores, let me go to shit. Just go straight to the shootout. Go straight
to the shootout because the shootout's more exciting than the five minute overtime anyway. So just go
to the shootout. Get it done. Just saying. Number two, soccer. There's a lot of things I don't
get about soccer, but one thing, a truly annoys me about soccer. Do we not have a technology
to stop a clock? So I know that we've played for 45 minutes. I don't need injury time and time
out time because I never know how much extra time to deal with. 45 minutes if the play stops
stop the clock. You know what I'm saying? If the play stops, stop the clock. I...
I can't be alone here. I don't like to do math anyway. Don't make me do math.
And number one, and Mrs. College and Pro football, stop this crap with icing the kicker.
It drives me crazy and my teams are just as guilty of this as everybody else. It's stupid.
Because what happens is, you do like Dallas, you end up icing your own kicker. That was dumb. It was
funny, but it was dumb. I don't like icing the kicker. It doesn't make any sense. I don't think
it's got a real successful working rate. And Don, you may have to look that up at what the
success rate is on icing the kicker, but I don't think it's very good. But that's the list. Let's do
