Mike, I thought this was something that you could go into a lot more detailed than just by anybody in this room.
Robin, I got to talking about it how the youth sports movement of getting kids involved in extra curricular activities and getting them.
Exercise something that pulls them out from the front of their Xbox 360s for a summer.
And I know that you've dealt with this on a level that I couldn't come close to.
Where you see the good side and the really ugly dark side.
And he brought up the prospect of beer league sports having the same thing.
Where a bunch of people are getting together to supposedly having a good time.
I kind of wish we had Jimmy in here on this because there's a full on fights taking place.
Whether the pitchers taking a swing at the batter with his fist or with a baseball bat.
But I want to get your take on this.
Um, I'm Fort, well, the job line that I do, we do, we deal with both areas, both adults and youth.
Right.
But out of the two areas, we probably have the most problem with youth.
And it's pretty sad.
It's really sad.
Because parents are trying to live their lives through their kids.
Uh-huh.
And they fight each other in the crowd.
I mean, it's ridiculous.
Yeah.
With the adults stuff that we have, we really don't have that many problems with the violence.
I've heard of other cities having their problems.
And again, it's because they allow alcohol.

And they don't have the influence.

There are other cities out there with their adult leagues where they allow alcohol onto the premise.

And we don't.
So we don't have that kind of problem.

I mean, looking back whenever we way back when we played youth, you sports.
It didn't happen.
It didn't happen.
If it did, we didn't know about it.

Now, for example, if we football, you go out the, you go out the Pasco Park now.
There's fights every Saturday.

We have to have cops out there.
It's more than one.

Parents fighting with coaches, coaches fighting with coaches.
And the other kids are sitting there watching it and crying.
Trying to figure out why this is happening at their game.
You know, this is what it's come to now.
I mean, whenever our first started, we didn't have to have cops at the games.
Now we're considering having cops at every basketball game now.
That's insane.
That is absolutely insane.

The fact that we're trying to do things to get these kids exercise because obesity is going through the
roof.

And then we get them involved in stuff like this.
And then this happens.

You see the parents attack the reps.
You see not footage before.
You see, you see the parents attack each other.

But attack the reps too.
Mostly the reps it seems.
I just, you know, I mean, Mike has told me stories that it's just made me turn
definitely ghostly.

They're making their kids, you know, go head to head with other kids in every aspect of their lives.

That's the way it worked.

I saw one thing on the, it's either like 60 minutes sports or real sports.
But talk about the reps now that have been attacked.
One ref gets their two hours early.
You make sure his truck is right by the field that he has.
He knows every moment where he's at worst truck is.
So he could get in this car and roll because he already got stabbed once already.
But he loves doing it.
That's insane.
And this wasn't kids game.
You know, growing up in kid didn't have to bring beer to the thing.

But at all of our games, we have to make sure that we have a quiet room for all of our referees.
So that when the game is over with, they go that quiet room and stay until it's clear.

Well, the problem was there's no, there's no where to bump this kid up to because it was, he was at the, the top level of age.

So there's no way else to bump him up to.
So he wasn't allowed to play because of his weight.
So the coach pulled him aside and pulled the mother aside and respectfully.
I'm sure he did it respectfully.

I don't want to make this an embarrassing situation.
But you don't meet our, our weight requirement.
Can I suggest he was, at this time, he was going to middle school.
He wasn't an elementary school.
That's what I was about to say.
He goes, I would suggest that you maybe you try out for the seventh grade beat team.
And she made a big deal about it because he's never played football before.
He's supposed to play with his friends and there's like, well, I understand that.
But we have a rule.
I need to, to look at it from my perspective.
Your son weighs under 300 pounds.
He's playing.
It's kids that are half his, his weight.
They're going to get hurt.
So I have to look out for the safety of these 300 kids.
And the liability of the city.
So I want 300 parents mad at me or do I want one parent mad at me.
That's what made no sense to me.
She's like, she was afraid that he was going to get hurt.
I'm like, look at him.
Yeah.
He looks like to do it from the blind side.
Ain't nobody going to hurt this kid.
But he wouldn't hurt him with the dead.
I'm shoveled with the back of his head.
He went on to play.
