It is Saturday nights, it is 8 o'clock
on the east coast. It is 5 o'clock on the west coast. It is the 7th of July in the year of our
Lord 2012. It is Season 2 Episode 49. The clubhouse is live on the air. We welcome each and every one of you. Whether you are
listening live, whether you are listening on the archive, or whether you are listening on your
portable device, we appreciate you individually for being here. We are your one-stop shop for all
things, sports and entertainment. My name is Rob, as I think that's what my mama called me once.
Joining me across the desk for a second week in a row, braving the elements to be here. He is
chatting. What a blustery day this turned in. Brother, I'll take it because it keeps the temperatures
nice and cool. I had no idea that it was getting this bad until I saw something posted from the
other person in this dude. Let me tell you something, my friend. When I was at church this morning for
rehearsal, it was 97 degrees at 8.30. Good night. Okay. That's just stupid. No, that's just Texas in
July. It's not stupid. Oh, it's stupid. Believe me, it's stupid. But I've got to have grind
also a skin in this day and age in this part of the country in this time of year. Also joining us,
we're not going to do a fourth chair tonight. Because given what tonight is, I kind of wanted to
keep it a little bit more low key. Joining us because she missed last week is the Justin Timberlake
of the clubhouse. She is our little sister. We actually got to have lunch with yesterday. It's
kind of nice. What about that? I said, we, oh, that's the year. There's a week. I was there. There's
plural people involved in that. She is Charlotte. Hello. I'm here. I don't know if we're going to have
to have you stand up or maybe move the mic over because it's like a killer oil is here
thing going on with you right now. I can only see you from like now. I can only see your eyebrows.
I'm like Wilson from home. Pretty much. So what I say tonight is a special night. It truly is.
Last week, of course, was our 100th weekly episode. And again, we thank each and every one of you
members of the Empire for being a part of it. My birthday was this past week. Had a great birthday.
Great show. The friend of the show Ken Belcher had his birthday this last Wednesday on the
4th of July. So happy birthday to him. Today is the birthday of friend of the show and great
friend of mine, Brian Burns. Celebrates a birthday. I hope he's not working today.
He's been in the day with his wife and his son and his brand new daughter. Indeed. But if he is
working, he is serving and protecting. So we can't say anything bad about that. But this week
is the season finale of season two. Hard to believe. You can believe that. It's not it's not
episode 252 because we missed three weeks this year. Yeah. But that only puts us an
average of missing one and a half per year technically. That's not a bad record. So yeah, I'll take that.
Let's start with correction, shall we? Let's do.
Um, clean last week. I'm not mentally, but the show was clean.
Mentally. But not physically either. There were definitely wheels in the front yard yet again.
Had a great, but it was a good show. Had a great time as we always do on the show. My side
for hurting when I left here. That's the key. We do kind of sort of have a guest booked for next
week. Oh, okay. A first time guest. Really? For the season premiere. A friend of the show.
I'll go ahead and say it. A friend of the show. Great, great individual. A guy got expensive time
with on Wednesday Tuesday night at Ragnarok. Clay Harrison. A man who does this on his own,
right? He does on Friday nights, right? He shows a, but he also helps out with a couple of other
shows too. Tech Tarts is one of them. Take a very popular, very popular show. That's a good
thing. That's really good. But Clay, Clay said he'll be on next week. I just have to remind him.
That was the whole thing. But again, for those of you that came out Tuesday night for Ragnarok,
thank you so much. We've kind of an intimate gathering, which there's nothing,
where Charlotte was there. I was there. Had a good time. I would have been there, but my head was
I know you were, you were supposed to be at work and you went home sick. So I was glad you weren't
there, sir. But it was really great, though. We talked about, there'd be a pooled area out back.
There literally was an underground pool behind Jpeves. Did anybody use it? A few people did,
a few people did. And it really kept the back patio area nice and cool. It was a gorgeous night.
So when they use it, though, was it planned or unplanned? No, it was planned. Okay, Devon booked it
that way. And thank you for the show. Devon Pike for booking that. We are going to do it again
next year. I believe the venue will be different, but we are going to do Ragnarok again next year.
Assuming the Mayans were wrong. So fingers crossed.
Sign of this week goes to the what's been going on around Facebook lately. Always trust people
who like big butts because they do not lie. That is sign of the week this week. And that's made
its rounds on Facebook. I've seen that like six or seven times. I haven't seen that one. Yeah, so
we need to incorporate a feature that current greatest Willy Wonka sign of the week. That's good.
This gracious. The wrestling one was my favorite one that says oh,
wrestling sucks because it's fake. Please tell me more about your love for twilight. Oh, that's right.
Stupid. And I saw your Starbucks hunger games comment posted on a couple of different pictures.
I want to do it, but I just I don't have enough words to do. Robert pretty much wager that you had
done it already. No, I have not. I don't. Well, for the people that don't know what we're talking about,
go ahead and say what it says. It says you should go to Starbucks. And when they ask your name,
you should say Primrose Everdeen. And when they call the name out, you say eyeball and tears,
tributes. You grab a cup of walk out. And you know, like three people in the entire place,
including the dude behind the counter would get it. Oh, I don't know about that. I think there
be more than three. The lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin has read the books. By the way,
can we just well, we got a minute and a half left in the song. There's the wheels are
even on at this point. We're two minutes in. Can I just go down the list of some great gifts I
received from my birthday? Yes. First of all, in the studio, we'll be hung up before too much
longer. I just have to find a nail strong enough to hold this thing on the wall. My sainted mother
sent me a framed, matted animation cell of BamBam kissing pebbles, which is absolutely awesome.
If I jaw hit the floor, it is numbered in everything. I mean, this thing's legit. I remember,
I was the one that saw it on your porch. Yeah. Yeah. Um, also the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin
helped me with getting some in your wireless in your monitors for the band. They would try to
come in. Well, they came in Thursday and Kenny should be mounting them in the in our rack
tonight. Oh, okay. So we're going to test them out tomorrow. He's going to test his out tomorrow
during church because for vocalists, we have a stage monitor. All of our, it's the coolest thing.
All the instrumentalists have these things called avium boxes. Uh-huh. And you literally,
you put your earphones in and you set your own levels for each individual instrument. Really?
Oh, they're awesome. That's cool. They're expensive as always. I imagine. But he's going to test
his out tomorrow. I think that's sick. So also, you got me a Muppets on Blu-ray. Yes, I did.
A friend of the show Don Ford got me the map of the entire kingdoms from Game of Thrones,
which is awesome. I'm going to frame that. Also, he got me, uh, I didn't bring it in here. Did I?
My, uh, my parody of the boat of super boat movie. Oh, is it over there?
Because I want to, I'm not sure that's in the studio. Brilliant piece of work. It was even
funny. There was the DVD as blank. We'll have to take a picture of it and put it on the website.
Also got Craig on Cards galore. Uh, a lot of people really, really thought of me on my birthday
this year. Got the money tree at work as we got the money tree from work, which was awesome.
I have now begun, uh, my 40th revolution around the sun. So when it completes, I will no longer
be able to put a three as the first digit in my name for 260 years. So I can't thank everybody
enough. He's Yoda. It was, it was a great day. Uh, got some great gifts from people at work.
Yeah, I saw the, you and I are going to be, uh, probably seeing Spider-Man's for free. Oh,
awesome. Because I go, I got 30 bucks worth of gift cards. You're still in on that though.
I told you I was. Yeah, but after the conversation, we had like, for you, I'm willing to give it a shot. Okay.
I'm willing to take the hit. But if it sucks, you're not going to live it down. I'm just telling you,
and they my fault. I'm just telling you, it's your leader. He did watch Anchorman.
Yeah, but I sat through the third Spider-Man of him.
Oh, do you not like Spider-Man? I did. The third one was terrible. The third one was terrific.
Oh, I don't enjoy Spider-Man at all. So I love the first day with the third one was just
dreadful. All right, let's get into this thing since we're now 11 minutes into the show.
And again, thanks to everybody that came out to Ragnarok, that got me some, especially
from my birthday. It was just, it was awesome. Let's do, let's do NASCAR.
And again, we ran really long last week and I won't apologize for that, but it was a good show.
Oh, it was better. You know, last week's show was as long as the Dark Knight Rises will be.
I'd rather do an extended edition than a shortened edition.
Moving on. Yeah, yeah, file that. I'm just saying. Oh, oh, Barbuyer's checking in before he gets
before he goes to work tonight. Good to see you, sir. It was good to see you at Ragnarok,
stopping by. Well, we had a great time. We really, really did. He's getting ready to leave for
Cancun. Really? Shut it. Yep. Well, last Saturday was pretty epic.
Up at the, yeah, it was a good, good show up there. Scooters, scooters, palace, scooters.
Last Saturday, we had the Quaker State 400. Here are your top 10. In number in the 10th spot,
in the number 18 Toyota M&M's red, white, and blue car, Kyle Busch.
In ninth place in the number 22 Dodge Shell slash Penzoil car, was AJ Allmendinger,
just like saying that. Number eight in the number 56 Toyota Napa and Auto Parts car Martin
Truex Jr. In seventh place in the number seven Ford fifth third bank, I still don't get this.
Were they the fifth bank to be the third bank? Are they a bank and two thirds? I don't
understand. It's like Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I never understood that name. Well, that's
I guess I think Chris is a way of preparing it. Or there was maybe a Chris Steakhouse and it was
just Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I don't know. Still hot. In seventh and sixth place at the Quaker State 400.
In the number 48 Chevrolet sponsored by Lowe's Dover White, that's what it says. I don't know
what to add on mighty. Five time, five time, five time, five time, five time, spring cup champion Jimmy Johnson.
In fifth place in the number 24 Chevrolet sponsored by Drive to End Hunger Jeff Gordon.
Ford Place, another top five finish.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the number 88 Chevrolet Diet Mountain Dew Slash National Guard.
A breaking. According to barbuyer AJ Allmendinger has been suspended by NASCAR for
violating the substance abuse policy. Really? The questions we don't have that kind of time.
Substance abuse policy and NASCAR. I mean, I can understand if you were putting like
awesomer fuel in the car. But that's like violating the substance abuse policy in golf.
What could it possibly do for you? Maybe he's just doing drugs. Maybe he's drinking and driving.
Now see, I would go there with you. He says he's not racing tonight. Why, do you know what he
tested positive for besides stupid? Or wait for it. We'll wait for your response now. I'll wait.
And in third place, getting the bronze medal in the number 11 federal express Toyota,
that's Denny Hamlin. Barbar says there's no word on yet what he tested positive for. I love your
waiting face, Charlotte. I'll wait. The silver medal in the number five Quaker State Chevrolet.
Conspiracy. Coming in second. Oh, God. I think Quaker State 400. I'm just saying.
Casey Kane and winning in the number two Dodge Miller light car. Brad keselowski wins the Quaker
State 400. See, I don't think that bear company should sponsor cars because I feel like that
promotes drinking and driving. Well, it made Dell learn our junior. He was sponsored by Bud for years.
I still like the idea of having feminine hygiene product sponsor.
Thank you, Carol. Where are the cable guy?
Wait for my computer to catch up. Okay. Point standings. Again, a little bit of movement.
Right now, the 12th place person belongs to Kyle Bush. He stays where he is. Carl Edwards stays
where he is at 11. Brad keselowski stays at 10 where he is. Dropping nine to number four,
and a name we have not yet said in this segment. I was about to say Tony Stewart does not get
a top 10 finish. Martin Truex Jr. bumps up one to number eight. Clint Boyer stays steady at number
seven. Kevin Harvick steady at number six. Denny Hamlin jumps three places to number five.
Greg Bipple drops two to number two. Up one to number three is five time five time five time five
time five time spring cup champion Jimmy Johnson. They'll earn a heart junior bumps up one spot
to the second place position. Only 11 points behind your leader who has led since Texas motor speedway,
which was if you can believe that two months ago. I'm about to say that was like three months ago.
That was eight months ago. That would be one Matt Kenseth.
You've owned a spell here. Staying power.
Well, I mean the thing, but see the thing about the chase is just get there because once you get
to the chase, pretty much all the points reset. And then everybody else is just racing to make money.
So it's good. It's hard to have a serious conversation with this song playing in the back.
I like this song. I like it. I always think of Tony Hawk. Your current race is underway right
now the Coke Zero 400 powered by Coca-Cola. Where in Atlanta? No. You should be called the
Firecracker 400. Anyone? Anyone? Feel it? I got that.
I figure since it was the Daytona Speedway. Oh, we are back at Daytona for the second race of the year.
National Anthem sung tonight by the by the great CNN Morning Anchor Robin Mead.
She's got a little voice on her. She's hot. I am a fan of the Robin Mead. When I used to be up that
early in the morning, when I was on the road a lot, I would make sure I went down and had breakfast and
watched CNN so I could see my Robin Mead. Yeah, this is another just announcing team USA.
Or as I like to call it gold medal free. From what I'm hearing though, this is the last year
we're going to use Prost. Really? I think we've proven the point now, but it's so much fun to watch.
Well, you know why we did it, right? Because everybody else was doing it. After 84, we said,
look, we're going to give you one more chance. If you use Prost, we're going to. People use
Prost in 88 and then 92 happen. It's like, we would have. I videotaped the very first game.
I haven't somewhere in this house. I videotaped the entire every game.
All you really need was just one because pretty much, okay, I've in love made the team.
See, I like the new, I like the new jerseys. I don't know. I do too. I don't, who's, who's complaining about
it? I'd be okay. I'm going to about the logo. Why does that kind of look like Adam Corolla?
That's exactly what I was thinking. Who is that? I don't know. Some random guy. Let us keep moving on.
There's right and right now. This is what we got going on. I have to tell you who's leading the race.
Nothing yet. But it is on your, whatever your local TNC channel is. We're going to move on and
do a little bit of TV talk because we are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
Barbara, thank you, sir. Have a great show tonight.
This is all I had for this. This week we lost a legend.
The great Andy Griffith passed away on Tuesday. Heck, we feature this man's theme song in our show
open for the other guy. We do. Is it just old age? Hard attack. And it was 24 hours after the hard
attack is when he actually died. Yeah. And he was buried within 24 hours. Five hours. Oh, it was
in five hours. I'm like, why would you bury somebody that quickly if it was just a hard attack?
He was born in Man Erie, North Carolina. He was an only child. He was born on the exact same day
as Marilyn Monroe. Oh, my God. Did not know that. As a baby, he lived with his parents until
he lived with relatives until his parents could afford to buy a home. He slept at a dresser's
drawer for several months. When he was three, his father began working as a carpenter and purchased
a home in the blue collar southside of Mount Erie. He spent pretty much spent his entire life in North
Carolina. Sounds like it. Well, the official announcement came from the president of UNC. And that tells
you in wow. As you can hear, this is him singing. Go tell him on the mountain in the background.
Grammy award-winning gospel singer. When you said this is all you could find, I don't know if you
could have found something better than this. You know, growing love of music, particularly swing
music would change his life. He was raised a Baptist. And he was in the brass band at his church,
and he would play the trombone. Graduated high school in 1994. He made prominence, excuse me,
in 1944. Wow. Impressive. Nine's and four's look alike to me.
Made his prominence in his film debut, 1957's A Face in the Crowd.
And of course, everybody knows him from the Andy Griffith show that ran for nine years. Matt
Locke that ran for nine years. Ron Howard put some very, very beautiful things on Twitter
for him. I've never heard anybody not say this guy was a classic. Yeah. Yeah. I've never heard anything
hiccative about him. You probably have to go digging really deep to find any dirt on this man.
And do you know who the do you remember when we we talked about this before? Who the killer was
in the very last episode of Matt Locke? Another legend we lost this year? Who the killer was?
I don't remember talking about that. Clark. Yeah. I remember you doing that. Yeah. In the list.
Dear Lord, how crazy is that? That is bizarre. And they both die within what, 60 days of each other?
Yeah, give her a thing. But you will be missed, sir. And our deepest go out to the family and
friends of the great Andy Griffith. The man definitely contributed. Some of you brought to my
attention earlier this week. Fans of Doctor Who, or I'd say I like to call it, Zulph Zaheem. And
why Charo, do they say it that way? Because they're from London. They sound like they're. Oh, I took his
here. I know. Rude. Because it beats me. Diana Rick, who played M.A.P. on the original television
version of the Avengers, will be doing a guest arc on Dulph Zaheem. This is so cool. This coming
season. I don't even know if I told Jules about this because Jules is a die of our doctor. See,
I was like the 70s versions of Doctor Who I was totally in on. But I just never got into the new
version. See, this is the version. I've heard it's amazing. It's another one of those like,
Charo and I were talking about modern family earlier. I just feel like I'm too far behind.
You know what I mean? I just don't think I could do it. She really, she really got into the whole
arc of whenever David Tennant was Doctor. And he was two doctors ago, wasn't he?
Or is he the last doctor before this one? The last doctor before this one. Because before that,
it was Smith, right? Is he the current doctor? I can't think of what his name is, but I want to say
uh, Eccleston was the one before him. Yes, you're right.
So, also, the great Christine Lottie, great actress, will be playing Steve McGarrett's mother
on the the new season of Hawaii 50. I wish I'd watch that show from the beginning. Cody,
that was when Cody picked up and we each picked up a show. Mine's mine are all gone. But he kept
the more Hawaii 50. I don't think he's watched it since season one, but he said he really enjoyed it.
So, I don't think anyone gave that show a shot at succeeding. I really did. That's doing well,
right? Yeah, yeah, it really is. I didn't think it would make it. It's picking up the lack of
ratings for CSI. That's for sure. Yeah. Lifetime remaking steel magnolias.
It's only a reason we're playing this in the background because the closest I could come
just stealing Dan. Wow, wow, fishing. Dude, I was running under the gun today.
Which, you know, if Lifetime wants to remake steel magnolias,
okay, and I'm still okay with it, but I'm going to give everybody just a moment.
Think about steel magnolias. Get your, get your mental picture. Julia Roberts.
Sally Field. Dolly Parton. The great Olympia Ducakis.
Now wadded up. Yeah. And for what? Now allow us to tell you who's going to be. And again,
nothing wrong with this. If I were, you know, someone who had Lifetime on speed click,
but I'm not because I'm a dude. Actually, if I could have played a song from the first cast member
you have listed here. Yeah. One song in particular. Yeah. Queen Latifa, who will also be producing it.
The great Alfred Woodard. Because he hears my thing. I'm looking at this cast and we're definitely
going in a different direction with it. You think? But almost everybody involved with this. I'm on
board. Because Queen Latifa, she does, she, she can act. Has she done some crappy films?
Yes. This year. Yes. But she can act. Alfred Woodard, you're going to argue with me on that.
No, I can't argue with you on that. Felicia Rashad. You're going to argue with me on that one.
Haven't really seen her do anything. That's not a Cosby. Honestly, I have. I know she's done
either, but I've never seen she does phenomenal work. But the next one you talk about aging gracefully.
She still doesn't have like, she doesn't have, she doesn't have the Claire Huckstable appearance,
but she is aging gracefully. Kind of Jane Seymour like. Yes. Very well played, sir. Yeah.
Jill Scott. And here's why I'm not, I'm something that's when you can't argue this.
Charlotte, you're with me. She did an episode of SVU. That was awesome. Yes, she did. And she was
really, really good. And yeah, it was a hard, hard episode to watch, but she didn't. She was
phenomenal in that episode. Because I saw her name in the opening credits and I did the,
that Jill Scott. And I was like, okay, I'm going to give this a chance. Was this recent?
Last season, wasn't it? Not this past season, but the one before. That might be on Netflix.
Look, see if you just look it up. If you can get to the episode on IMDb, there's a link that
will probably take you to watch it. Okay. But it was, she was really good. And add a paro ODA.
Who is that? I'm going to look that up because I really don't know. And the last one I'm only
assuming is a relation to police. Yes. So am I. Let me, let me look this one up for you real quick.
You get that one. I'll get kind of blessed high high speed internet. I'll get condola Rashad.
She was in something called pariah in 2011. Pretty girl. Beautiful girl. She was in half Nelson
in 06. She was in something called the tested. She was, and she did an episode of Louis.
I try to think of it. She did a TV movie called Wifey. That sounds real familiar to me.
She did an episode of criminal intent. She did an episode of the mother's ship of law,
or that's more who hasn't is law in order of the mother's ship. And she played woman in a
circle called water. But pariah seems to be the one that everybody's talking about. So
I haven't heard of that. It looks like it, it looks like her on the poster for it too.
Take a look here. Yeah, it's probably is her. And what do you have on the condola Rashad?
Have you been able to pull that up? Yeah. Talk amongst yourselves. I'm getting there.
She was in sex in the city too. She is the niece of Debbie Allen. So she would have to be
Felicia's daughter. Because isn't Debbie Allen Felicia Rashad's sister? I think so. She would have
to be Debbie. She would have to be Felicia's daughter. I didn't know. She was also in something
called 30 beats. She's on smash. She plays sin on smash. You're the only one on the show
that watches that. Yeah. She's listed. She did two episodes of criminal intent.
It was a two-parter. And she did an episode of The Good Wife. With Juliana Margillian.
Also aging very well. Yes. Beautiful woman. Beautiful woman. I'm not sure who this character is. She
must be one of the backup dancers for CYN Sin. Yeah, I just pulled it up. So Comic Con is next
week. And which is part of the reason we're going to have Clay on next week. We're going to do a
lot of geek talk next week. Hopefully we're going to have some great things to share with you by
the time we go on the air from Comic Con. We thought the Cleveland show was canceled. Apparently
we were wrong. Because there is a poster that they've got set up for Comic Con. It's online right
now. You can see it. Because set this doing separate panels for American dad, family guy,
and the Cleveland show. Why not which one's going to be the most popular? Probably for American
dad. And it's going to return on October 7th according to the Fox pair of finale. What does
happen that day? I'll be your birthday. So happy birthday to you on that, sir. I think all three
of them are going to return that night. I think that's the big night for animation domination.
So. Also, something that you also alerted me to the other day. And I saw the headline last night.
And I don't know how I feel about this. Seth Meyers may be replacing Regis Philbin.
He's the front runner right now. Live with Regis Lee and Kelly Lee show.
Regis Lee and Kelly. That's what Letterman used to call it. Live with Regis Lee and Kelly Lee.
Apparently one of the other people that is that's in the running for this is the Groban.
Which really kind of know what I bet he's got a great personality when it comes to interviewing
people. Josh Groban or something. Yeah. I don't doubt that for a second. But I'll say I was one
of the podcasts that I listen to right now. It's called More Stories. It's Jane Moore's podcast.
Yes. And apparently he did a fill in spot for Regis for a few days late last year.
More dead? Yeah. He's great. And his podcast is really good too. It's sometimes
it's funny, but a lot of times like the Eric Roberts interview is riveting. Really? Like he really
gets into the Pope of Greenwich Village. Like they go, if you've seen that film, he's phenomenal.
And he talks about losing an Oscar Don Amici because he was nominated for Pope of Greenwich Village.
Don Amici was nominated for Cocoon. Oh man. I don't care if you like Eric Roberts or not.
That interview is amazing. Oh, I've never had an issue with Eric Roberts. The story he tells
about working with Posse on star 80. Yeah. Yeah. When I had that story alone, it's great.
When I hear Eric Roberts name, that's usually the first thing I think. Look that one up.
Okay. I think you really enjoy that one. Again, not not not all of them are funny,
ha ha, but some of them are like just more severely good interview. I don't know that one that you
and I were listening to together. But he talks about comparing Regis Lee and Kelly Lee to
last comic city because remember, he executive produced last comic strip. Yeah. And he said,
it's amazing how streamlined that thing is. It's like somebody has an iPad that they're holding
up with a countdown clock. And you just have to watch that clock and go through just watch the
prompter. It's just so streamed ones ridiculous. God. I mixed up about this Seth Meier's thing
because I think it'd be a good gig for him, but there's no way he can do both. We can't lose
anybody else on the best of hell right now. We've already lost Kristen Wig and Andy Sandberg.
And the Jasons to Dacus rumors are still flying. I just don't think we can lose anybody else off
that show. It's time. I'm sorry. The pull upon? Yeah. I want him to hit 30 years.
Or maybe it's just time to rebuild. They've done it twice. You're going to have to, you're going to
have to. What what seriously? Well, outside of Sudacus, what do you have left as a power hater?
Yeah. And you've always got Ken Thompson who's good. J Ferro is very funny.
I just don't know who you'd get to do update. That's my problem.
But that's TV talk. We are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
Make sure you like our page on Facebook. Look up at the clubhouse podcast.
Also, you can follow us on Twitter and clubhouse show. I update that about once in millennia.
You can follow me on Twitter about the same frequency at yes, that Rob Irvin ERVIN. I am at
Chid NPG 69. Charlotte Parker on Pinterest. You know what's great is that for the first time in
like two months, both of you have been able to say that on your own. And I didn't have to say it
for you. What are you talking about? Oh, oh, because we're actually in the room. Yeah, exactly.
He doesn't have to pull a guess ball away. Well, see, he just says mine, but he shouts yours.
Oh, goodness. That's because that's what she used to do.
I stopped yelling it because it bothered you, gosh. It makes me laugh. I enjoy it.
Let's do a little bit of it. It may talk not a lot to talk about tonight.
Not right now. Anyway, later in about three hours. Yes.
Or four hours probably because this is going to be brutal.
I hope it's just one nice clean shot.
UFC 148 happens tonight. Why would you want your main event?
Chale Sunin versus Anderson Silva, the rematch.
Sunin was on Levitard the other day and this guy's out of control.
He's not a nice man. I think he's funny, but some of the bits he just takes too far.
And that's my problem with it.
And I love the fact that he really thinks he has a chance.
I gotta admire the optimism.
Go back and watch that first fight. The problem with Sunin's delusions and that fight is the
fight before that was the one where, remember when Anderson Silva just kind of danced with that
kid for five rounds and then Dana got really, really upset. So he goes to fight Chale Sunin
and he basically played possum for four and a half rounds.
If you were like, oh, Sunin's beating them like, no, something's wrong here.
And about halfway through the fourth round, it took me longer to say that first part of that
sentence than it took him to submit Chale Sunin.
He played possum in that fight just to hack Dana off.
Go back and watch it. I mean, I stand by that.
I remember that fight like it was last night.
It was like the, the Ruffalo moment in the Avenger.
Yes. I'm always angry.
It was a point done. Bye bye. Thanks for playing.
So that fight is tonight. It is currently, it's actually going to start here in about 20 minutes
on pay-per-view. We'll talk about it a little bit next week.
That's really all there is to talk about in MMA this week.
Not just not much going on as they're getting geared up for UFC 150,
which will take place in Denver, Colorado.
The site of UFC 1 and 10 and 10.
So Woody Page, the great Woody Page is already said he's going to be there.
By the way, I don't even know he would never listen to this show.
Woody Page, Denver Post, around the Horn veteran.
Got married last weekend.
So what?
That's a Mazel top to him.
Congratulations.
Sure he's 740 years old.
But love is for everyone.
I'm saying I like that guy.
He's greatness.
He is greatness.
Crazy as a loon.
Yes he is.
Current record holder and wins.
Oh, on around the Horn.
Little bit of NBA talk.
Has there been a busier offseason in the NBA than we've had in the last few years?
My goodness.
In the last few days.
It's, I'm talking about, I'm just talking about just over the last few years.
Has there been a busier offseason than we've had?
And we've been, we've, the season ended about two weeks ago.
I'm just saying in the last few days, we've pretty much seen Ray Allen now with the Miami Heats.
Somebody asked me about it at work last night.
I said, you know what?
I don't know how I feel about this.
Great player.
Crazy as only.
Somebody's put a picture on Facebook today of him with like a girl on each.
Oh, that was okay.
Yeah, I saw that.
Miami has more to offer.
Hope you understand Boston.
Yeah, sure they've got no problem with it at all Ray.
And then I saw another one today that said, uh,
it's him and KG sitting on the bench at the top says, don't worry Paul.
Ray, we'll get him next year as well.
No, I think what you mean is they're going to get me next year.
I'll take more depth.
Don't get me wrong.
Uh, by the way, team USA, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, James Harden, Russell,
Russ Bukh, Darren Williams, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kevin Durant,
Blake Griffin, Andre Eduguala.
Can you guys ever say something?
Tyson Chandler.
That's the roster.
I were three weeks away, sir.
Tell him saying, I'm so pumped for this.
I may, I may, I may DVR opening ceremonies.
You've got to.
I won't be able to do it for the week.
Like DVR doesn't go that far forward.
Yeah, I only get two weeks at a time.
You said this is his last last go.
Yeah, Coach K, this will be his last go around with me.
What else does the guy have to accomplish?
He's never going to go to the NBA.
He likes the college game too much.
He's got, he's got more rings he knows what to do with.
This is as close as he needs to get to coaching NBA.
I agree, because he's coaching NBA play.
Well, I mean, and plus you've got guys like LeBron James
and Kobe Bryant who have both said,
if I'd have gone to college, that's where I wanted to go.
Oh, wow.
So looking forward to that in 20 days.
Dwight Howard.
Looks like he's going to be staying in Orlando.
He was making noise like he wanted to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets.
And they've pretty much got their cap hit.
Because they did sign Darren Williams,
which the Mavericks, I guess, had a shot for about an hour and a half
and that didn't work out.
I don't think the Mance have any toes left.
Because they shot themselves with this offseason.
They've lost and lost kid lost Terry.
I don't know if they've just resigned.
That Oklahoma City is just going to own this thing.
Although the Lakers getting Steve Nash.
God.
I would be more concerned if it was five years ago
if I'm going to be perfectly honest with him.
Yeah.
However, Nash always has something left in the tank.
That's going to be very surreal to see him in a Lakers uniform.
It was surreal for me to see him every time I saw him in a sun's jersey.
But I kind of got used to it.
I did get used to seeing him in a Phoenix sun's uniform.
As a Laker, I don't know.
That's going to be weird for me.
But I agree with Mikey.
You're cousin by mid-season dirt asks to be traded.
I'm not going to debate that.
I admire Dirk's sense of loyalty.
But they're putting way too much on his shoulders.
He can't do this.
He couldn't do it with what he had.
Now he's going to eat him less.
I'm not going to debate that.
And Lamar Odom still trying to get back to Los Angeles.
There was supposed to be a three-way trade between Dallas and Denver and the Clippers.
I don't know if this thing's going to happen or not.
Lamar, you're trying to have a baby with your wife.
You got to provide somehow, brother.
Oh yeah, because they're sort of broke.
I'm just saying.
And see, people make fun of Chloe.
I think Chloe is a very pretty girl.
Now they make fun of the whole deck of family.
She's the closest one to saying in the family.
I mean, is she a tall girl?
Yes.
She is very Amazonesque.
She's the Chewbacca crowd.
But you know what?
I think she's a very pretty girl.
She's just a member of that family.
So she's got those brave waves,
brave waves running through her cranium.
Or lack their own.
Yeah, so there's that.
No, they're not right now.
They won't be in about three weeks.
Thank you, Curse Bluff.
Any other NBA talk you want to bring over?
No, just watching the dismantling of the maps
has been so depressing.
The Sixers have made some odd moves in the last couple of days.
I think if I'm the Sixers,
I'm keeping that team as much intact as I can for as far as they went.
But that's just me.
Also, Sharwin, I saw today that that,
what were we watching when we saw that balloon sculpture on?
It was the Unlimited.
It was Unlimited.
Yeah, a guy did a balloon sculpture of LeBron James.
That was pretty cool.
Balloons.
Oh, okay, okay, it was pretty neat.
I thought it was kind of cool.
Sharwin, that was creepy looking.
Sorry, she said, Sharwin, that was creepy looking.
It was a little creepy.
But, yikes.
Join us one week from tomorrow for the next WWE pay-per-view live
at Fox and Hound in Richardson, Texas.
Sharwin, why don't you give him details on this one?
Why don't you want me to give him details?
Because I need to take a drink of my tasty beverage.
And besides, I talk too much on this show sometimes.
You've been listening to me do this for two years.
Give him the dates on Fox, man.
Well, yeah, a hip-I was right there.
The dates?
What is that?
What's the dates?
I've never heard that.
Oh, my god.
It's like your peeps.
That's like people who say reddick.
Like,
I'm so glad I had finished the sip of my tasty beverage when she said that.
I hate when people abbreviate the word ridiculous.
I want to slap them in the face.
It's like lazy, lazy people.
You're the charless pet people of the week.
There you go.
And there's the title of the show.
Oh, my god.
I'll have another one for you next time.
Can we, can we move on?
Yeah, go ahead.
Fox and Hound won't leave from tomorrow.
Money in the bank.
I try so hard.
That was my chick, my game over there.
I'm so excited.
I'm so hard on this show.
That was another great birthday gift I got.
It's like I got my Bob and Tom VIP membership and makes me happy.
Pre-show for Money in the Bank will be at six o'clock central time.
We will be broadcasting live.
So for those of you that are not local,
you can listen to the pre-show as we prepare you for what last year
was the best pay-per-view of the year.
Indeed it was.
So join us once you.
Five bucks gets you in the door.
So you can spend 60th of a house.
You can spend five bucks there.
Use that other 55 for great food.
And they promise you they will get your order right.
Yeah, they, yeah.
Poor guy.
Hope things picked up for him.
That was, that was Buffalo Wallet.
That was a completely different establishment.
They just made me think of soft pretzels.
Which now I'm kind of craving craving.
You want to get some soft pretzels later?
Maybe.
Okay, let's talk.
Let's do some music news, shall we?
It's a baby making music right there.
But you know what?
Whether I like the guy or not personally,
he makes decent music.
He does.
He's a total debat.
It's, it's, it's the Chris Brown conundrum.
Yes.
Because Chris Brown, I'm not going to put Chris Brown in the game.
I'm not going to put him in the same sense,
but he makes decent music.
Yes.
I just get so tired of songs that do this over and over and over and over again.
And it's the only thing you ever does.
Welcome to music in this day.
You didn't have it.
Take it.
I don't want it.
This album, Confessions by the Erscher.
This week passed 10 million copies sold.
It only took eight years.
But he was the first, but he's the first person to do it since MNM did in 2002 with the MNM show.
I really thought.
That's, I'm going to look that up.
Because 21's got to be getting close by now.
It has to be.
I know it's past that point worldwide because it's been in the top 10.
Adele was born in 1888.
Oh, that's, I know.
And Adele, Laurie, Blue, Adkins.
It's her whole name, Blue.
So she and Jay-Z's kid have something in common.
That's about it.
I know, I know, I know worldwide.
She sold a bajillion copies of that album.
How many zeros is that?
I know. That's slightly more than 10 million.
So she's, she's laughed, Erscher.
Erscher.
Trying to figure out how many.
What's it going to tell me?
Really Rick Rubin produced 21.
He was one of the producers on 20.
He's not aware of that.
Show me how many copies this dog has in his soul.
Chad is dying right now.
I like this song.
But I know it's, it's past 10 million,
22 million copies of 21 have sold as of June of 2012.
Worldwide.
Worldwide.
So I don't know how many that is US.
But she's got to be getting close.
So what is the significance of him selling 10 million.
And she's the first to do it since Eminem did it in 02.
But she's already sold 20 domestically.
According to the sound scan.
The highest in the sound scan era is Metallica's Black album with 15.8 million.
That was back when people bought CDs.
And that's, that's American.
That's not worldwide.
Because they had no choice.
Exactly.
But it, but 21, you know, you want to compare it.
It's the UK's best selling album of the century so far.
God almighty.
You don't own 21.
Do yourself a flipping solid.
That's all I'm saying.
Then we have this other problem with Randy Blight,
lead singer of a band called Lamb of God.
Not a Christian band.
Let's make sure we're clear on that.
Pretty far from Christian band.
It's had my concert on May 24th of 2010 where a fan jumps on stage
a fight breaks out.
Fan falls off the stage.
Hits his head on the concrete floor and dies.
Lead singer Randy Blight last week is arrested in the Czech Republic for manslaughter.
Currently in jail.
There are over a thousand fans we're expecting to show for a vigil today in Virginia.
They are fighting this thing.
I'm assuming they're going to call that involuntary manslaughter.
Yeah, that's a who's the vigil for for the lead singer.
Oh, to get him out trying to show their support so he can get a prison.
It's a weird situation.
That's odd.
It's not really a vigil.
And the guitarist, well, the guitarist for the
forlame of God will be at the gathering in Virginia tonight as well.
Well, that's because I don't think it really counts as a vigil.
If that's what they're calling.
What's he involved in the fight?
The details are sketchy right now.
Apparently there's some weird check law
that has got him in jail right now.
But to just charge him with general manslaughter I think is weird because you would have to all you'd have
unless he physically pushed the dude.
It's got to be involuntary.
Yeah.
But then again, we don't know how the laws in the Czech Republic
are from where they do here.
We need to get a little bit more deets on this thing.
Look at it.
Look at it.
Sick.
Irritating that it's fine.
Actually, I just changed the name of this episode.
I'll line up, change this real quick.
There we go.
Tonight's the episode is how those deets are ridiculous.
Nice.
It just sounds so lazy.
It's like I can't use complete words.
This episode rated MA.
The band you hear in the background currently.
Songs called The Old Apartment by Bear Naked Ladies.
By the way, this video is directed by Jason Presley.
Some of the biggest hockey fans in the music business.
They're actually doing a tour right now called The Last Summer Tour Ever.
Because of the Mines.
With the Cracker and Big Head Todd, the Monsters, and somebody else.
Is that what he's going by now, Cracker?
No, Cracker's band.
I thought you meant like Uncle Cracker.
I thought you were just abbreviated.
No, there's a rock band called Cracker.
Okay.
It's not spelled with a K.
No, you've heard of them.
But the individual band's names are Graham.
It's all green.
Larry Graham's in his band.
Ritz.
Boy, that just stopped everything down.
That was the point.
I don't have any other stuff that's not karaoke.
They have a song called Low That's Really Really Good.
Anyway, about Bear Naked Ladies, we're burying the lead.
They are getting together with the people at Universal Stage presentations.
Because apparently Universal has a theater section now.
They're bringing Animal House to Broadway.
I'm frightened.
I've said this twice in this show.
I'm going to say it again.
I don't know how I feel about this.
Yeah, that kind of frightens me.
Because on one hand it's Bear Naked Ladies.
And these are guys that are.
They're a geeky band.
So they're not a band that's going to go into something like this lightly.
But by the same token, do I need Animal House on Broadway?
Did we need young Frankenstein on Broadway?
You see, I can't say because I haven't seen anything from it.
But you want to.
But it wasn't on Broadway.
Off Broadway.
But you know what, I have a block.
But it's concerned off.
No, it's true though.
I know, it's just funny.
And this may be off Broadway as well.
But who cares?
I mean, would you see it if you had the opportunity?
I have to wait on reviews.
No, I'm talking about young Frankenstein.
If I had the opportunity and money was no object, yes, I would.
Like a good friend of yours and good friend of the show.
Rhonda now English has seen it.
She and your friend April went inside.
Yeah, recently.
I had no idea it was even in town.
I didn't either.
Because I would have been all over that.
But I think that's when we were working seven days a week,
so we couldn't have gone anyway.
But that's true.
But if I, if I, because I enjoyed spam a lot.
See, and I've yet to see that.
Jules says she can't get any volume on the iPod.
So I don't know what's going on there.
She might have it muted again.
It's possible.
But I, I think I would have to wait to hear some.
Love this song.
Song by Steven Bush.
I can see it's on my screen.
It was actually in the film as the guitar player on the steps.
You just, you just,
you just griswolded me.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
I did it.
Yes, you did.
Jules, have you seen this film?
I have not.
Adding this to the charlotte list.
Oh, this is essential.
This is essential viewing.
But see, and here, I'm glad you said that because
as I'm thinking, as Animal Houses running through my head right now.
I would like to see this film through the eyes of someone like
charlotte.
Absolutely.
And this is going to sound really sad, but it's true.
From a generational aspect.
Because you've got to understand,
Animal House was when
76,
76.
Somewhere in there.
I'm looking to see if they'll hear it.
Same about Blues Brothers.
They're like 80, 81.
78.
78.
So I kind of wonder from the aspect of someone who was born
what six years after
the movie was released.
How it holds up for someone of charlotte's age versus ours.
It's just one of those movies that is it's so
Is it a movie that's on your radar?
Sure.
Mm-hmm.
Yes.
So it's one that you want to see.
You just
just have it.
I haven't brought yourself to it.
And I adore this movie.
Absolutely.
And I have kind of a weird, you know, Kevin Bacon's in the movie.
I do have kind of a weird Kevin Bacon connection.
Yes, you do.
You do this film.
But you know what?
I'm curious about the musical.
I it
It could go either way.
Because I'm the guy that said the Mike Tyson show
wouldn't make it through one performance.
And it got two weeks.
And you're the only real
original contribution to
the movie song-wise is what we're listening to right now.
So I'm sure
Shout will be featured very prominently.
Oh yeah.
Uh, but I'm just curious as to what they do with it.
I mean, they're saying they're bringing it to Broadway.
Is it just going to be a stage production?
Or is it an actual musical?
And the camera doesn't say it is a musical?
Or is it just-
It's going to be a musical.
It is going to be a musical, okay?
That's that's depth.
I just I don't know.
I want to see the early reviews.
It's way too early to really say.
Because again, it's bear naked ladies.
So it can't be that bad.
Well, and it's not just I love those guys.
Not just reviews.
We got to see who they cast in this.
Bout point.
But it's a lot of the uh,
it's universal is is involved.
Yeah, so it can't I mean, I'm hoping.
Music new releases this week.
This guy.
I state your name.
I state your name.
Because that NFL money's not coming in anymore.
Hank Williams Jr. releases old school new rules this week.
If you're into things of its ilk.
And I'm definitely not.
Also, a brand new album called Cold Hard Want
from a band called House of Heroes.
This is a Christian band.
They're very kids with the clothes and the hair-ish.
So there's that.
Mark Tremont releases all I was.
Anybody know who he is?
No idea.
Yep.
Lead singer of Alter Bridge.
Free 2.0.
Oh, okay.
Also, the lead singer of the band
that is currently working with slash on his current to it.
Oh, okay.
No, Mark Tremont's not the lead singer.
He was the the guitarist.
I apologize.
Mark Tremont was the guitarist from Alter Bridge.
Zach Brown Band releases their brand new album
called Uncaged.
But are they still popular?
Or are they kind of Wayne?
I don't know. People still love them.
My wife right now into the Jake Owen.
I don't know. I do who I am.
And there's somebody else that she just bought a CD from today.
That she was very, very into.
Any relation to Bucco?
Probably not.
And I can't think of the other guy.
But these guys release a brand new album on Tuesday.
Thank you.
They're not a band.
Of Hank?
No.
Oh, okay.
What's the genre?
Sorry.
There you go.
P.O.D.
releases Murdered Love.
Also a Christian band, by the way.
P.O.D. is a...
P.O.D. is a Christian band.
Payable on death is what that stands for.
Murdered Love.
Sounds like a field couple.
So there's that.
Oh, this song was in one of those rhythm games.
Yeah, it was on amplitude.
Oh, I'm sure.
But it was faster.
I don't realize this was...
Because a lot of people get this confused with click click boom,
which is saliva.
Right.
Which I've seen that done live.
Also a great band.
I saw them open for three or three days down.
I saw them open for Kiss and Aerosmith.
You did.
Me too.
He forget we were at that show together.
You were at the Kiss Aerosmith show, weren't you?
I was not.
We weren't even on the...
Not on the bill.
We had no idea they were going to be there.
I had no idea.
We got there and they were like,
saliva.
We were like,
Oh, what?
I thought it was cool that Kiss and saliva were on it.
Well, it just...
It's just weird how...
She was at that show for you.
She was at Motley Crew in Aerosmith when I went.
And this was still before we met her, too.
You got to think,
Aerosmith, don't you?
It's a little bit.
A little bit.
Just a little bit.
A little bit.
A little bit.
They're coming to town July 28th.
I'd love to go but...
No!
Paying that much money.
So expensive.
I'd say what's ridiculous are those poison death leopard tickets.
They're going to be here on Labor Day.
60 bucks for cheap seats of the American Airlines Center.
Is it ridiculous or is it...
Shut up.
I didn't abbreviate it though.
But I'll tell you...
God, who's redone there?
There's horse pages.
I am interested in who is opening for that double bill, though.
For poison and death leopard?
Uh-huh.
Lena Ford.
I was going to say like, heart.
I would see them.
Dude, I'm telling you.
And Wilson still has pipes.
She belts it, dude.
I saw H.D. Net showed a concert they didn't see Adelope a few years ago.
It was off the chain.
And I'm not going to lie.
I have been as close to Lena Ford as I am to you right now.
I don't know if I'm going to be that close now.
Well, this was back in like 87.
And she was smooth.
She was donating a guitar to the original Dallas Hard Rock.
And we were there just hanging out that night and now.
She walks right in front of the table.
We were sitting at and I'm like,
You know what I'm saying to the clubhouse?
We are live each and every Saturday nights.
Eight on the East Coast, five on the West Coast.
If you miss any section of the show,
it is available on archive immediately after we get off the air.
Let's do a little major league baseball talk.
It is the All Star Break.
Home run Derby Monday night All Star Game on Tuesday.
I'll watch the box score online.
The All Star Game just doesn't do anything for me anymore.
I like the festivities that surround it.
I'm sure it's a blast to attend.
And be around the park when it's going on.
But the game itself just doesn't really do anything for home.
I just don't like the whole.
The winner gets home advantage in the World Series.
I see for years, people are graphing because it meant nothing.
And when it does, people are running.
But to me, it still means nothing.
It still means nothing.
Like y'all didn't necessarily contribute to that.
So why should you get the.
I don't like the whole every team has to be represented.
If you suck, you suck.
I'm driven that.
I hate this whole. We're all winners.
No, no, we're not.
You the win or you lose?
This is not literally where everybody to participate to the trophy.
That's why you get paid a bajillion dollars.
Let's get you updated standings.
We will start in the American League East.
The Toronto Blue Jays are still keeping
Charlotte's beloved Red Sox out of last place.
It doesn't count because they're Canadian.
Yeah, but they're they're only behind y'all by a half a game.
Oh, maybe there's a conversion chart there that we need to look into.
Maybe there may be a half game leeway.
But I mean, let me tell you something about the AL East.
Charlotte's beloved Boston Red Sox are at 500
and they're in fourth place.
So I mean, that's a tough division to be in.
No joke.
Two games behind the Tampa Bay race.
The race are a game and a half behind the Baltimore Orioles.
The Yankees have a six game lead right now.
Their plus minus is a plus 60 there on a three game win streak.
Toronto, I'm sorry Toronto, but uh,
your beloved Boston Red Sox, Charlotte are a plus 48 run differential.
So there's there's score and run.
So they're just not win enough games.
AL Central, the Minnesota Twins at 36 and 47
are 10 and a half games out of first place.
Worst in the week?
Not yet, my friend.
The Kansas City Royals are a game ahead of them,
but they are five games behind Detroit.
Detroit is that one game behind the Cleveland Indians.
Cleveland is three and a half games behind the Chicago White Sox.
The Minnesota Twins run differential is a minus 85 right now.
So there's that.
In the AL West, the Seattle Mariners,
15 and a half games out of first place.
Oakland is seven and a half games better than them.
They are four games behind the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim,
Los Angeles County, California,
America, North America, Earth.
Or as I call them.
Christian, we're going to over to Milky Way,
Galaxy.
Now I'll give you Earth.
And your Texas Rangers have a four game lead in the AL West.
That's the good news.
The bad news is they've dropped five straight.
They got there.
They got handled by Chicago.
Oh, Tuesday night.
Oh, oh boy.
Charlottes, Charlottes, I were eating dinner at the Great J Pebs,
and we're like, they scored another run.
No, not scored in a hit three home runs.
It's like they were just scoring a well as Walt had an ERA,
that game of 11.
After like when we were coming home from the fireworks,
they're like, let's check the score and see how bad it was.
And think it maybe 10 to 6.
No, it was 19 to 2.
I just went, oh.
The amount of runs actually fell off of your eye.
It was funny because Devon had already had a few drinks
by that point.
I think it was like 16 to nothing.
And everybody's like, nobody's saying anything to Devon.
Because he's die hard, right?
Yeah, because we were on the back patio.
And as soon as I said that,
all I heard in the back room,
and they're like 10 feet away from us.
16 to nothing!
And then we all went, oh, too late.
Jules is saying it's a problem with the U-stream app.
It's not used on the phone.
Oh, it's okay.
Internationally East.
Actually, that's the one that matters so we're going to have more.
In the NL West,
the Colorado Rockies are 14 and a half games out of first place.
So the Jamie Moyer experiment is over.
He has been relegated to Triple A ball.
They are 20 games below 532 and 52.
They are tied for the worst record in the league right now.
But the good news for them is they're only a game and a half back on the Padres.
So the Padres are seven back of the Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks are five back of the Giants.
The Giants are only one game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers right now.
In the NL Central,
the Cubs are tied with the Rockies for their worst record in the league of 32 and 52.
And they are 15 games out of first place,
but they're only a half game behind Houston.
If you can believe that.
Oh, that was the wrong one to do that.
It's okay. We'll fix it.
We'll figure that out.
The Brewers in the middle of the pack, they're eight games back.
The Cardinals are two and a half games back.
They're a game behind the Reds.
The Reds are a game and a half behind.
The Pittsburgh Philippine Pirates.
The Pirates are in first place at the break.
And in the only division that matters the NL East,
the Phillies still in dead last place.
You're welcome, America.
The Marlins are four and a half games better than they are.
My beloved Atlanta Braves in the middle of the pack at 44 and 39.
They're five and a half games back.
They're only a game behind the Metz.
The Nattinals still have a four and a half game lead.
Joining us in the chat room right now,
very excited old friend of mine.
From back and many, many, many years ago,
Mike Helen has joined us.
A guy that I went to high school with.
Oh, nice.
Good to see you, sir.
Thank you for stopping in.
But the Nattinals.
They got a young team and they're starting to play
but the Pittsburgh thing.
That's got to be the toughest thing to manage.
When you put a guy on an inning limit.
And he is torching the world.
I don't even want to be in management at that team right now.
Because I don't know.
Mike says it took long enough to figure out how to log into this match.
Only took two weeks.
What do you see here?
That's all that matters.
He started two weeks ago.
He just got to do it.
It's all that matters.
That's going to be a, I'm going to be following that situation
in our nation's capital just to see because man,
if he hits that 160 and it's like September.
And they're making a, they're making a threat.
He can't use him in a playoffs.
Because he's coming back from Tommy John surgery.
That's why he's on the inning gap.
Oh, God.
So there's that.
You are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live each and every Saturday night at eight on the East Coast,
five on the West Coast.
Like our page on Facebook.
Look up the clubhouse podcast where you can actually listen to the show
on our Facebook page as well.
If you click the U stream live link.
Everything okay?
I thought somebody drove up a new yard first.
Yeah, I thought I was going to be the first time that's happened
on this show in the last month.
Follow the show on Twitter at Clubhouse show.
You can follow me on Twitter at yes,
that Rob Irvin that has spelled E-R-V-I-N.
I am at Chad N-P-G-6-9.
That's actually creepier than the other way.
I'm not going to lie to you.
They didn't plan it.
That reminds me of what's a comedian who did a bit where she was like.
I went to the deli.
I ordered the chicken salad.
It wasn't going.
Just makes me think of that.
Let's go on to a little P-O-I right now.
P-O-I stands for Person of Interest.
P-O-I is the segment we do on this show
where we take a person or an entity
and we discuss their greatness or lack thereof.
Since I've been doing P-O-I for like a month and a half,
Chad's got to take a few of these.
He's going to take it this week.
Go.
And you would think just by giving who the P-O-I is
that he was still doing this.
Yeah, you could say that.
First of interest this week.
It was unavoidable and it was inevitable.
It's Kevin Smith.
One of my leaders, one of your leaders.
And I had no real idea who he was
until Rob introduced me to his work.
Downsons 94.
And 95.
Great, great wit on this guy.
An amazing writer.
Accomplished director, although so nice.
It's an amazing director.
You see me even he'll tell you.
I'm not an amazing director.
An accomplished director.
He's a very accomplished yes.
Worked with some great people.
Big hockey fan.
And he kind of came to a crossroads in his life
where directing movies has become a
very distant second to pretty much
everything else that he's been doing here lately.
Podcasting.
Hulu, Hulu shows.
Yeah, I need all over YouTube.
I he's.
How many podcasts does he have now?
I lost seven or eight.
I lost track.
And I was following his podcasts
long before Rob even thought about it.
And before I even thought about following podcasts.
Yeah, it was it would crack in me up.
It was just him and his.
Moser and his production partner Scott Moser.
Well, his producer.
Well, not just his production partner.
His producer.
And because they went to film school.
You know, that's what they met.
They met at film school in Vancouver.
And they basically flipped a coin.
And Kevin won the coin toss.
So they made his movie first.
So Kevin kind of took the director role and
Moser kind of fell into the producer role
and it just never changed.
Yeah, and they're both cool.
So recently, they're both cool with that.
Uh, but
following what he was doing with this podcasting,
and I was like,
just around around the time that Rob and I were both
laid off.
We're both out of work and we both
started talking about it.
And I'm like, you know,
these two guys, all they do is just kind of sit in the studio
and talk about stuff that interests them.
We could do that.
I mean, can I just cut to the chase?
So what you're saying?
What he's saying is that the reason we do this show
is because of Kevin Smith and what he's done with podcast.
Exactly.
Period and of statement.
Yeah.
That was the genesis that gave birth to the clubhouse.
Right.
Two years ago, this coming week, yeah.
You know, it was, it was just kind of a no-brainer.
I was like,
as often as we sit around and just talk about this kind of stuff
and these guys are doing this,
and it sounds like they're having a blast doing it.
And who knows where it could lead.
Why don't we give this a shot?
And we've been taking shots ever since.
And it's been a ball doing it.
I can understand why they do it.
You know, and I would love to have their amount of followers.
Oh, yeah.
I'm not going to lie.
Someday, who knows?
And just the other day,
he's got one of his Q&A sessions.
Kevin has another one of his Q&A sessions
that he did when he was out promoting Red State.
The last film he directed.
And he actually does it at the,
I guess it's at the Draft House in Austin.
The Alamo is the Alamo Draft House.
And he gets up and he starts talking
about when he lost his father.
And it hit me really hard.
I mean, it hit really close to home.
The emotional gamut that he ran,
whatever he was there in the hospital.
And it was like,
immediately after a Q&A session,
he was having in Florida, I believe.
It's a great story.
And if I'm being perfectly honest with you,
I wouldn't even want to go into this store.
I think everybody should seek that story out on their own
just so they can really go into it
without any understanding
and really go into that story cold.
Right.
Because to try to explain that story,
it would almost take a lot of the impact out of it.
Yeah.
Yeah, and like it's on Netflix right now.
It's called Kevin Smith goes to hell.
Because basically when he was out promoting Red State,
the Westboro Baptist Church was basically branding
in the heretic, you know,
but if you've been branded a heretic
by the Westboro Baptist Church,
which is pretty much everybody that's not in the Westboro Baptist Church,
there's a small cast that he does
where they play back a Q&A he did
at one of the screenings for Red State.
And two of the people that had quote-unquote escaped
the Westboro Baptist Church were there.
And he ended up turning the Q&A over to them
for like 20 minutes.
Uh-huh.
And just talking about their,
or like they had left a family.
And they were talking about what things are like
away from the family versus being in the family.
And it's a really riveting.
That 20 minutes is incredibly riveting
because you're just, you're hearing this
from through the eyes of people
that have been on both sides of that fence, right?
But he said something as he's wrapping up this Q&A
where he says there's the world is full of why.
And when you hear that same,
you're like, what are you talking about?
He's like, like when you say,
I want to go make a movie.
I want to go direct a movie.
And you've got people just naysayers say,
why?
Why would you want to do that?
Nobody else is doing that.
Why are you doing it?
Just surround yourself with why not?
Surround yourself by people that will say,
why not?
I'll help you get that thing done.
He goes, it costs nothing to inspire or encourage an artist.
He goes, it's so, who knows?
You may inspire somebody to write the next song
that's the next internet sensation
that pops up on YouTube.
You know, you can inspire someone
who winds up going on to bigger and better things
and you had a part of that.
And I'm seeing a list of this going,
godly, this goes so much deeper
than I even imagined it would go.
So he may not be doing what we originally
became a fan of,
but I'm just as big of a fan if not more so
of what he's doing now.
Here's my thing with how he's doing.
Here's my thing with Kevin.
I know what your thing with Kevin is.
I, you guys know me well enough to know,
especially if people that listen to this show,
know me well enough to know.
I'm not here to judge anybody.
But Kevin has turned into such a pothead.
Yes, that it has affected.
I mean, we both say, well, it, you know,
it enhances your creativity,
not in Kevin's case.
I think it's hurt him creatively.
Creatively.
Because Zach and Mary,
such a great movie.
And that's where he started
rolling the doobies.
Well, because Seth introduced it to the party.
Right.
And no one said they really introduced it
because he smoked when he was younger.
What it was is dealing working with Seth Rogen,
he was very nervous because
Seth Rogen was a very accomplished person at that point.
And he felt he knew that Seth was a big smoker.
So he felt the only way he could really identify with him
was to sit down and smoke a bowl with him.
And then it just turned him into
multiple times a day every day.
And Red State was, to me,
I felt a lot like I did after I got finished with a cop out.
Do I not hate this because it's Kevin
or do I not hate this because it's a decent flick?
And I loved the podcast.
I think he's really kind of taken that whole thing
to a different level.
And he's gotten a lot of people
involved like Jay Moore.
Jay Moore's podcast started at the
small castle when he had that there.
Right.
And so he's gotten other people involved in the thing
and he's helped a lot of people out.
And I will always have a place in my heart
for Kevin Smith because I think he's an
amazing human being.
He's done, you know,
sir, smontcast internet radio.
But he does live.
I've met some great friends
through what used to be the news
rescue forums, which are not anymore
because he took those and turned them into
another smontcast website.
He didn't tell anybody.
I just think that this phase of his life,
he's done with movies.
I don't know that at this point,
are we ever going to see hit somebody?
He brings that up.
He brings that up in this Q&A.
Are we ever going to see it?
Yes.
You're going to be a two while I walk.
No, it's a one-parter again.
He's contingent back to one movie.
Okay, because he mentions that in this Q&A.
Yeah, because he's talking about splitting it into two
but now we're just going to do one film.
But is it good?
Am I going to see it while I walk this planet?
I'm sure you will.
I mean, this is,
it's basically the cop out
and red state as part of his
divorce proceedings, more or less.
Getting away from film.
Well, you said this is going to be it for him.
Yeah.
I'm interested to see where he goes from here.
I'd like to see him
as much of a hockey net as he has re-become as an adult.
I would love to see him get more involved
in maybe charity work that has to do with that,
because he does get involved a lot with the Kretsky Foundation
and he plays in their street hockey tournament every year.
It's just been interesting as a fan for almost 20 years
of this man to watch his progression.
Because I guarantee you, I put clerks in the DVD player right now.
It still holds up.
Yeah.
If you have ever worked in retail,
clerks is like mandatory viewing.
It's like clerks and waiting.
You have to watch.
Yeah.
If you've ever worked food service or retail,
because it's, you identify with those.
I knew and I have done both, I believe.
You know, you know,
Maulrats loved it.
A lot of people came down on Maulrats.
He calls it a $9 million casting call for Chasing Amy.
But, which is still my favorite,
I loved that movie.
Chasing Amy is in a category all by itself.
You know, for him to take a very painful experience in his life,
which was based on a lot on his relationship
with Joey Lauren Adams.
Because they had broken up by the time they were filming Amy.
Yeah.
A lot of people gave him grief.
I mean, Jayden Soundabob Strike Back,
a lot of people gave him grief for Jersey Girl
by the time I actually watched it.
I was like, I like this movie.
It's a good movie.
I mean, but it was the whole
J-Lo app for a thing.
Clerks 2, I thought, had a lot of heart.
One of his better films.
I just, I like the man.
I'll always be a fan.
I'm going to miss his films.
Because Kevin's the kind of person
when he says he's going to do something, he does it.
Yeah.
Comic book Ben could be better.
It's enjoyable nonetheless though.
Yeah, but it's a little too staged for my liking.
But we got another season.
Yeah.
So hopefully we'll get some improvement there.
But he's got, you know,
one thing I'll always give him is his sense of loyalty.
He knows.
No kidding.
You got almost two of both.
Brian Johnson,
Walt Flanagan, Ming Chen.
Ming Chen, who is the original webmaster for VSQ.com.
That I did not know.
I was wondering what he...
That's how he got involved in the whole thing.
I was wondering what his role was.
I just thought he was a, was a stash employee.
Oh no, he, he's, he started VSQ.com.
Oh wow.
On his own.
This is that mixed thing.
But you know what, still great.
Just a different kind of great.
Yeah.
Then he's been.
But we all, we, we all quite a bit to him.
We do.
Then this show exists because of inspiration he gave us.
Exactly.
So thank you, Kevin.
You ever listened to this thing?
God forbid, sir.
You are.
Say that.
Well, towards the likelihood they're in.
And, and, and if he ever stumbles across this thing, sir, you are.
You have been a leader of mine for almost two decades.
And that's where, that, that's where a lot of this,
sir comes from as well.
Yeah, that's, that's a, that's a kept thing.
It's a kept J thing.
Yeah.
That kind of worked itself into my vernacular.
But you have been an inspiration to this,
to this show and to many others, just like it.
Because I guarantee you we're not the only ones in that boat now.
So.
God, speak to you, sir.
Looking forward to the next phase of your life and of your career.
That's P-O-I.
It's like, it's the,
can pendulum swing back to me next week, indeed.
And next week, I'm thinking maybe part of what we're going to talk about is
probably the, the majority of the show next week is going to be P-O-I.
Really?
Given what next weekend is.
Okay.
So.
You are listening to the Clubhouse Bear Live every Saturday night,
eight on the East Coast, five on the West Coast.
Join us live at Fox and Hound in Richardson, Texas.
We forgot to say which box of Hound last time we talked about this.
Richardson, Texas, just West of Central Expressway on Campbell Road.
Six o'clock, central time, seven o'clock on the East Coast.
We will do your live one hour pre-show, one week from tomorrow,
from WWE Money in the Bank.
Join us, won't you?
And if your local come see us, five bucks gets you in the door,
great food and drink specials, wonderful people to hang out with,
come meet the rest of the Empire.
I see what he did there.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Empire with stuff, empire with stuff.
Well played, I love that girl.
Charlotte has joined us.
She's been a little quiet in the last couple of segments,
but we're going to wake her back up a little bit.
She can stop hitting the snooze button.
We are now going to do some movie talk.
We always start you with box office numbers.
Since the show is on Saturday, we do not bore you
with old numbers from last weekend.
We're going to give you the numbers from last night.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week
is people like us, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter,
Prometheus, and Men in Black Three.
Drop out of the top 10 this week.
Number 10, and I don't know what this is, so I have to find out.
Sony Pictures releases something called to roam with love.
Chad, you got anything on this?
No.
Charlotte.
To roam with love.
Wasn't that that movie with Kristen Bell?
Surely no, oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No, this is a Woody Allen film.
Oh god, that's right.
This is who I was in this.
Oh, and Wilson, isn't it?
That was that was Midnight in Paris.
Oh, okay.
Roberto Benini, Alice in Pill, who apparently got clicked on something before,
Judy Davis, Alec Baldwin, Carol Alts,
Fabio Arme Lato.
I just wanted to say that.
I don't know who that is.
But that is your number 10 spot, if you can believe that,
making $860,000 for a 15-day total of $2.7 million.
Number nine, Focus Features, Production of Moonrise Kingdom,
$1.365 million for a 43-day total of $23.6 million.
But I thought that the box office would have been a lot bigger
of this we didn't give in as the post-holiday weekend.
What's some of the names you left off the cast in Toronto?
I just put what was up there.
I didn't go through the whole cast.
Number eight, Madagascar 3, Europe's most wanted,
makes $2.3 million on Friday for a 29-day total of $190.7 million.
Number seven, a movie that Chad has been waiting for tickets for for a month and a half.
It's finally going to get to see it tonight.
Katie Perry, part of me.
I will throw something at you.
God, I'm sick of seeing the ads for that movie.
Geez, has been out two days,
makes $2.7 million last night for a 2-day total of $5.8 million.
It's on 2700 screens.
Number six, a movie Chad is going to see right after he gets done with Katie Perry,
part of me, making $3.4 million on Friday for an 8-day total of $39.1 million for Medea's
witness protection.
Hallelujah, Jesus.
Number five, a movie opening last night with $5.6 million the latest Oliver Stone vehicle.
Notice, savages, I am in on this.
This looks pretty cool.
It looks old too violent.
But you're also not a fan of the Blake Lively, though.
Am I right on that?
She talks weird, like her mouth moves funny and I'm like,
are you?
She's got that Alicia Silverstone.
Yeah, it's like, I don't know.
I think we talked about it on this show.
It's like her top lip doesn't work.
Number four at the box office last night,
making $6.13 million for an 8-day total of $63.3 million.
We go live for a review of this film to the other side of the table.
Charlotte, do you have me?
I do.
I'm here.
You know where we're going with this.
I'm surprised you didn't have me buy tickets for this one too.
Even my, even my ridicule has limits.
Oh, don't does it.
Tell me when that happens.
Charlotte saw this film last night as we talk about the
ukeen-ish that is Magic Mike.
We go to you for a review of this film.
This movie sucked.
Wow.
I would have been perfectly happy putting on like
it's raining men by a wreath of wrinkling and just watching the whole night.
What it would have been better is if you watched the Chris Farley Chippendale sketch.
No, okay.
It, I mean, you're just there.
Read the Franklin.
It was the weather girls, but whatever.
She did it once.
She might have for a live performance or something.
I saw her do it once with.
You sure it wasn't the weather girls?
Because those are some big women.
Those are women of size.
We called them the weather balloons, actually.
Oh, that's not nice.
So the movie sucked.
The movie, I mean, it's bad.
This is the first, honest to God.
This is the first person that I have talked to
that has seen this film that has given it a bad review.
Because it is 78% of Rotten Tomatoes.
Yeah, those people are there for the eye candy and that's it.
That's why they're giving it good reviews.
The plot, you're not there for the plot.
I wasn't there for the plot.
I didn't go there to see how this was going to turn out for Channing Tatum.
I can care less how it turns out for Channing Tatum.
Just take your pants off.
That's all I'm there for.
Wow.
That's a very Greg the hammer moment.
Let me get your pants off, dude.
I mean, let's just be real.
Nobody is there for the plot of this movie.
Or no woman is there.
And if any guys are there, believe me.
They're there for the same reason you walk around.
Well, you know, there were some manly men there.
When we went, like, I mean,
like there because they're significant others
or whatnot had forced them to be there.
I don't know.
I cannot answer that.
But I mean, when I say manly men,
I'm talking affliction at hearty looking dudes
are at this movie.
They probably were paying penance for something.
Mike says, you know, the whole showgirl's rationale.
You're not going for Shakespeare.
You're not going for the plan.
You're going because Jesse from Saved by the Bell
is taken her clothes off.
Yeah, whom I was never attracted to in the first place.
I think she's gorgeous.
I do.
The other reason I was interested
is because some cool print songs in it.
So.
So Charlotte did not enjoy it.
I could have just put in my iPod and watched the movie.
I mean, it's the same thing with any John Cena movie.
I could care less about the plot of this movie.
I just want to see John Cena.
That's it.
That's true.
She did get up and go to the 11 a.m.
showing at the Marine.
I left work.
Wow, I love my sister.
How do you do?
Number three of the bronze medal last night
making $6.238 million for a 15 day total
of $160.6 million for brave.
Still haven't seen it.
Still need to.
Still just not that interesting.
It's Pixar.
I got to see it.
It's not Pixar.
Sir, it's Disney.
This was distributed by Disney.
Buena Vista.
I didn't know that.
I could have sworn I could have sworn.
Pixar was involved in this.
I don't believe so.
I'll look it up to be sure.
But that was one of the things about this.
That this was not a Pixar film.
I just think you're born to me.
Well, I mean, you got Craig Ferguson.
You got Kelly McDonald.
Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson,
Julie Walters, Robbie Coltrane, Craig Ferguson.
I mean, and it's pretty much the stuff that goes on
related to my-
Oh, you're right, this Pixar.
I'm about to say.
You're right, it's here.
There's no way it's not a Pixar film.
Nothing was something about this being.
Mike says he brought the kids to see brave twice.
And he says definitely be-
You're right, this Pixar.
I thought there was something about this being the first CGI Disney film.
That was that was that was tangled.
Ah, that's what it was.
You're right.
And that was great.
I heard really good things about tangled.
I haven't seen it.
I haven't seen it, but I heard great things.
Oh, you would love this.
You would love tangled.
I know you.
You would love tangled.
Silver medal last night making another $10.5 million
for an eight-day total of $98.2 million for Ted.
I want to see this movie so bad.
I did too.
I just, I mean, I just hope I'm not disappointed.
Everybody I've talked to has loved it.
Yeah.
I've gotten mixed reviews.
There's a lot of people saying they don't want to talk a lot about it
because it takes some odd turns
that they don't want to ruin for anybody.
So, and number one at the box office making $20.7 million
for a four-day total of $95.718 million.
I would go see this movie tonight.
God, I want to see this so bad.
This Spider-Man's
which does $7.5 million at midnight screenings.
It sets the all-time Tuesday record
held by the original Transformers.
The wife is begging me.
When are we going to go see this?
When are we going to go see this?
I'm like, talk it.
We'll talk to Rob.
Yeah, you guys do.
Because if I'm waiting for you on this dog on thing,
that's why I told I said we can't go without him.
Because he made a commitment.
Just saying.
We do find out that these soundtrack to Sparkle
will release on July 31st.
These will be Whitney Houston's final recordings.
This year anyway.
Well, I'm talking about like these are the last ones she recorded.
I just think it's going to be the last album.
It's her final recordings.
Congratulations to Peter Jackson and the kids behind the Hobbit.
Principle of photography has wrapped.
I would hope so.
So continuing this coming out in December.
Well, remember, a month ago they were still working on the dark night.
Also, about time this perfectly.
Because apparently we needed this.
We do.
Not.
The first one was retarded.
I loved it.
Oh, God.
And I don't know if we have original cast involved in this or not.
I hope not.
We do not have a listing on IMDb as of yet.
One of them won't need makeup.
For the 20th anniversary, Disney has greenlit a sequel to Hocus.
Focus.
I think we know what you guys remember.
I'm casting the Jimmy and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Hey, what are the long face?
Really?
Yeah.
No, I'm no.
I mean, what do you say?
What in the world is a song called Focus?
Focus by a band called Focus.
1971.
I had what in the name of God's the song, the song's called Focus.
I feel like I should be levitating right now.
I'm expecting to see things start to spin off of his desk.
It was 1971.
You probably would have.
Little smoke coming up from the ground.
I'm just kind of going.
You know, talk about things that are completely unnecessary.
We do that a lot on the show.
No, I'm talking about this, this sequel.
And let's end this part of the segment on a high note.
Shall we?
Oh my God, this is such a great story.
The great Ron Pearlman has alerted by the people
from the Make a Wish Foundation.
He's not in jail as I found out.
She was getting confused with somebody else.
There's another Pearlman that went to jail.
Some musician that she's thinking, no, she's thinking of
a Lou Pearlman, who is the guy that started in sync and all that.
Oh, okay.
Seed the crap out of him because he was taking all their money.
So he's around me as a troll, a low, low, low guy right now.
But this Make a Wish kid wants to spend the day with Hellboy
played by Ron Pearlman in the films, very, very brilliantly in my diet.
So Ron Pearlman gets into the makeup, full costume, full makeup,
goes and visits this kid.
They spend the day together.
The kid gets together with the makeup artists and they make him up like Hellboy.
How do you, first of all, Ron Pearlman, already great.
Like, already, already a huge fan.
This just blew it up that much bigger for me.
This kid is what, like, seven years old,
fighting Luke, he's getting treatment for leukemia.
His name is Zachary.
What the heck is this?
It's turned into a soundtrack from The Wizard of Oz.
I don't know how that happened.
But we're having a very serious conversation and I can't.
Yodeling in the bag.
We turned it down a little bit.
Turn it down.
I mean, one of the classiest moves I've ever seen.
I mean, because anyone who's a movie fan and fan of special effects knows,
it's no picnic getting into full makeup.
Especially that costume.
I mean, full prosthetics, the whole nine.
I mean, it looks gorgeous.
I mean, it takes hours to do this and he looks like he's ready to shoot a scene right then.
And he did it for this kid.
I never heard a bad word about Ron Pearlman.
Always been a fan.
Sir, you have my, my even bigger respect.
And then apparently the next day,
they, they took the kid to this, to their effect studio and just gave him a tour of the place.
Dude's a boss.
That dude is a boss.
I'm going to hit myself with a band.
Dude, I've got something in the background.
And trust me, in this segment, you'd rather have this than what comes after it, okay?
Okay.
If you play, oh god, I'm scared.
I think I know what's next.
What do you think is, what could possibly follow this?
Is it Nicki Minaj?
No, okay.
I do not own any Nicki Minaj for a reason and I love you dearly for that.
I would jump out that window.
I'm just saying, because what I've got cute up next goes into the next part of the segment.
Trust me, you want this over that when we're talking about this,
because that's going to be, you think this is awkward?
That's going to be more.
But, you know, Ron Pearlman, what are you going to say?
I mean, the guy's genius.
That's awesome.
He's a boss.
That is absolute awesome, this.
That dude, everything he eats has awesome sauce on.
I'm just saying.
Salute to you, sir.
That is, I mean, and the fact that, like,
that happened.
First of all, he probably got that phone call and went,
oh, okay.
You didn't want to hang out with me.
He wants to hang out with the character.
No, but just like,
top 10 things you didn't expect to hear somebody and make a wish want as their make a wish.
And then you go, well,
oh yeah, okay.
And the fact that he got the call and they say he jumped at the chance to do it.
Oh, I'm sure he did, but my whole thing is, like,
did you expect that that's going to actually happen?
No, you know, that's my whole thing.
That was the weird thing for me.
That actually happened.
He very easily could have just played it.
I was like, look, I can't.
I've got a commitment.
I got a thing, you know, even if he didn't.
And I'm, he may have.
And he may have laid his head down and said,
I got to do this.
Yeah, I mean,
how can I not do this for this kid that's all he wants?
And how much of my time is he going to take out?
Well, a lot, but still.
And just like Sharla should not say in her interview,
I believe that children are our future.
I do.
And that's, you know, and you always help kids out.
Especially, especially kids.
Exactly.
Things like this giving back.
I'm a huge proponent of it.
And I agree with it 100%.
My, if I had a hat on, I would take it off
and salute to you, Ron Parman.
Only two big new releases in movie theaters this coming Friday.
The latest chapter in the Ice Age saga,
which I never saw the, when is this four?
Four, yes.
I never saw the third one.
I think I'm pretty sure I saw the second one.
Do not believe I've seen the third one.
I saw the second one in that.
It's like them and Madagascar.
Yeah, it's a new movie every year until the end of time.
And then, um, we have this now.
Nancy, now you're going to understand why I didn't want to kill the next song.
You don't want to play this when you're talking about.
Make a wish.
Do you all see?
Yes.
A movie called Red Lights.
First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to give you
the synopsis of the film.
Because that's not why this is on the list.
Psychologist Margaret Matheson and her assistant study
Paranormal Activity, which leads them to investigate
a world-renowned psychic who has resurfaced years after his
toughic critics mysteriously passed away.
Kind of odd.
Interesting.
Let me run this cast for you.
And I'm actually going to go to the end and work my way up.
We'll start with Craig Roberts.
Jolly Richardson.
Elizabeth Olson, the one Olson sister that has talent.
Cylian Murphy.
Scarcrow.
Sigourney Weaver.
And the Nero.
Jeez.
I saw this and went,
how do I not have a trailer?
How do I not see a billboard for this?
It is directed by
a Rodrigo Cortez
known for...
Oh, he did that.
Oh, Brian Reynolds buried.
The one where Ryan Reynolds wakes up buried alive.
Oh, okay, okay.
He did that.
He did something called the contestant.
He did something called the 15 days.
15.
No, that's not the one where he cuts his arm off, right?
No, that's 128 hours.
Yeah, 147 hours or something.
But everything else he's done has been managed pretty much.
But you know what?
It's the Nero Sigourney Weaver and Cylian Murphy in the same film.
In.
Hello.
Did you ever see Machete?
Yes.
Okay.
A lot of people didn't realize that Nero was in man.
Yeah.
Did not see that.
It's the Gauls, the bad guy.
What else do you mean?
It's such a cool movie.
I made my movies and movies.
They'll put it last 30 years.
I've been a cop.
That's one of my favorite Faventon fans.
There's the Devisago!
But I'm interested in this.
DVD and Blue Light New releases this coming Tuesday
in a store near you, American Reunion.
Can't believe we never saw this.
This is a rental.
Yeah, this is a rental.
By the way, grow the Dragon Tattoo on Encore tonight.
On Encore.
And the DVR set.
I will have that movie in this house tonight.
I'm not guaranteeing you I'm watching it tonight.
But it will be on the DVR.
You probably could have gotten it on demand on Tuesday.
If it's on Encore tonight.
How much time do I have to do?
No, it's just on demand.
You can watch whenever you want to.
Season 1 of Alice.
Which I'm surprised it took this long.
They're just now releasing these.
That's what I saw on my list.
Wow.
Based on the film, Alice doesn't live here anymore.
True story.
Also, we have a couple of WWE superstar collections.
One that I know that, uh...
Kind of get...
Let's go do it for the song.
Because I wanted to do this for American reunion and I didn't.
Showa's very happy.
John Cena has another DVD out to add to her 940 that she currently has.
Don't touch me, Matthew.
I'm not judging you.
Did I judge you for painting the walls in your office pink?
No, I did not.
It's really pretty.
I know.
And that's why I didn't judge you.
Because I trust...
I trust your decor.
And Zack Ryder.
He's a WWE superstar collection.
I like him.
I like him.
Don't think he's ready for a collection DVD.
I don't need it either.
I don't need it either.
Oh, jeez.
You want it more than I could get.
More than I could handle.
Life that I can't live in.
But again, you would think...
In summertime you would have more...
Like, that's the whole DVD list that I saw.
I was like, okay, this is interesting.
Those four titles.
An Alice Season 1, I'm reaching.
I'm going to get home until about five in the morning.
Really?
Well, think about it.
It's almost three hours long.
It's two hours and 45 minutes as long.
So by the time I get out of there,
get home and get in the bed.
Don't show up here before noon that next day.
Don't worry.
I'm making sure there I have no meeting scheduled on that time.
Yeah, I might not be a bad idea.
You're probably better off taking the next day off.
You are the same as the clubhouse.
We are your one-stop shop for all things sports and entertainment.
Let's combine it to right now and do a little bit of wrestling talk.
FCW releases Arramando Arajandro Estrada.
They realized he was still with them.
He's been with FCW for a couple of years now.
He left and came back.
Raw number 1,000.
We have two more episodes left.
I don't think so.
One of my worst fears becomes realize this.
Raw goes three hours every week.
They are not ready for this.
I'm just not looking for the Charlie Sheen.
What I'm hoping is they don't really have him on the show.
They just let him run the Twitter feed.
Maybe they just show the tweets or something.
Then anybody can be doing that.
They're going to try to them out there at some point.
They've got to.
Otherwise, they wouldn't make such a big deal about it.
Let him be the next guy that he slater beats.
That would be awesome.
The Brock Lesnar and the music you hear in the background.
Bret Hart are booked for the 1,000th Raw.
Which one of these two guys is more bitter?
Bret.
But I'd rather see Bret probably by a country miles,
Bret.
I'll leave that man.
Sean is saying that he is not booked.
The DX reunion is not supposed to be to August.
So...
Because Sean says he really doesn't watch anymore.
He's so embroiled in this hunting thing that he just doesn't get time to watch Raw.
I just...
I see people ask him all the time on Twitter.
And he's like, I just don't really watch that much.
So let's talk about Raw or lack thereof.
Raw aired on Monday night.
Let's say that.
John Cena.
We're going to start with John Cena.
A Manimal reference.
Really?
A Manimal reference.
You know how many episodes of Manimal there were?
Like three.
Eight.
I mean, I understand you want.
You're trying to get geek credit, I guess,
because you did the whole Star Wars thing last week.
And that worked so well.
But Manimal...
Somebody had to give him that.
Someone had to give him Dr. Jonathan Chase in Manimal.
Because I find it very hard to believe that before my birthday,
John Cena knew what Manimal was.
And I mean my birthday 2K12.
It was a CV series that NBC did in the 80s,
where Dr. Jonathan Chase was the big character.
And he could just change into animals.
And he fought crime.
More often than not, it was a Black Panther.
But they couldn't call it Black Panther because then they get sued by Marvel.
It lasted eight episodes,
surprised I went that long.
I did not quite understand that.
Here's the question.
With...
Vicky trying now to pitch herself as the Queen Diva.
Can Madison rain suit for gimmick infringement?
With the whole Queen B thing?
Oh, who knows.
Does she really care that much?
But you know, but I'll tell you what I will give Vicky.
I don't know if this happened on RAW if it was smacked down last week.
When...
No, it was RAW.
When AJ was in the ring doing the yes.
Yes, yes thing.
And Vicky came out and said nobody wants to come out here
and listen to your stupid catchphrases and then yells excuse me.
I thought that was funny.
I will give Vicky credit for that.
Can we just...
What are we just going to turn her face?
We don't have to hear the shrieking all the time.
Malena's gone.
We don't have to have it anymore.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I wonder if she's the kind of person that is enjoying this so much
that she doesn't want to do anything else.
And then you had your...
He's slater bits.
Oh for it.
We're doing shows up.
Smartest man alive.
Not doing...
Um...
Huh?
That wasn't...
I said doing it?
No, that wasn't doing it though.
That wasn't.
No, it was Steve Wombardi.
But it was someone in the doing costume.
Yeah, yeah.
Which...
And then C.C Slater wins the match and you're like...
Oh...
Hey...
And then...
We hear this.
Kind of sort of.
Actually, no.
Close enough.
We hear the representation herein.
5
DDP!
Very successful yoga instructor now.
Guy's still in great shape.
That's why...
I think he could still go.
Yeah, that's why.
He's...
He's all about to do...
Oh, I've done yoga on the balance...
Do we balance board?
Yeah.
Do we fit?
That'll kill you.
If you let it.
Like, yoga...
For those of you that think,
Oh, yeah, good...
No, let me tell you something, my friend.
You've been prepared to bend yourself in the English.
If we fit can kick my button yoga,
I can only imagine what real yoga would do.
What DDP would do to get a yoga student level.
I better make sure my affairs are in order.
Yeah, that's all I'm saying.
You better have your will made out.
Charlotte, have you done the yoga?
Yes.
Tell us about your yoga experiences.
I don't have a problem with yoga.
The only part I have a problem with is...
The breathing.
Because you have to breathe in when you do certain.
And breathe out like on cue and that's hard for me.
I didn't realize how bad my balance was
until I tried to do yoga.
But I will tell you what's stupid, hot yoga.
Because it's Texas and you can go outside and do that for free.
That's stupid when they put you in a...
Have you seen this?
No.
Or they put you in a room that's like 130 degrees to do the yoga?
That's stupid yoga.
I'm not sure that smells wonderful by the end.
But he looked great.
Gave him the diamond cutter.
I was hoping he'd pick up the mic and say that was not an archaer.
That's a diamond cutter.
But he didn't do that.
I would have liked to know who would have picked up the microphone and said
and that's a good thing and walked out.
And I think his ex-wife is now remarried.
She's doing real estate in Utah or something.
Weird like that.
Does she think it'd be kind of cool if DDP and Trish would hook up since they're both
real big into the yoga thing?
But I know she's married too.
Talk about world's colliding.
Perfectly.
Trish...
You just creep me out.
See?
I can't say anything.
I didn't say you could.
There's a difference.
There was no detail involved in there.
I was just admiring the Trish Trattis.
But you moaned about her like Homer Simpson looking at a donut.
I always remember one of them.
I think the Trish Trattis I always think.
You remember WWE confidential that show they had on Sorry Nights?
Oh yeah.
And they toured her house.
And she had a Jacuzzi room that doubled as a sauna.
That they just blasted in and then she could like throw a switch and it just turned into a
sauna and I'm like that's the most thing I've ever seen.
But that's really all that happened on Raw.
Like the ending.
But again, just like you said to me the other night.
AJ is the most interesting thing that company has going on right now.
Yep.
It's really hard to debate that.
They keep on twisting that knife.
That's not a little impact.
Very little impact.
Shannon Moore has been released.
Which kind of interesting because I don't think I've seen him on TNA television in about three months.
Also leaving the company Angelina Love has been released.
Vince's people are showing interest.
Oh why?
For those of you that don't know she originally was supposed to go to the WWE
but didn't have her proper paperwork because she is Canadian.
She did not have her visa straightened out.
And because of that she was not fully hired on by WWE.
She did have some problems with her tenure in TNA.
But you know what?
She could breathe some life into that Divas division.
I don't know if anything could breathe some life in that Divas division right now.
Just don't do the bit that they did with her with Winther.
And I think it'll be because she's she can wrestle.
The only thing is going to bring any life into the Divas division is bringing back Karma.
Well that's what it's going to take.
I don't know what we're waiting on.
I don't know.
Yeah I guess waiting for you to get right back in her headspace.
I don't know.
Also Tazz will not be tomorrow.
Tazz will not be at the announce table for Destination X.
He has a prior family commitment.
Jeremy Borash will be at the announce table.
Until Slam Aversary I would have said this was a terrible idea.
But that dude has really grown.
He stepped up his game.
He really has.
Like he entertained me in the pre show at a Slam Aversary.
Very much enjoyed his fine work.
Not much to talk about in Impact.
Brooke Testmocker still has some work to do on her promo cutting.
When she says that Gail is hiding behind her attorneys and lawyers and such.
And that's the same.
Let it sit.
Let it sit.
Let it breathe.
Yeah.
And she's married to a chef and a cook and see.
That's Gail Kidd yes.
Apparently she put on Twitter last night that she tweeted to J.R.
that she wants to get some of his barbecue sauce.
Her and her husband want to do some stuff.
Her husband's a chef.
I know just.
I know.
You know who it is right?
What?
Who she's married to?
No.
What's the name of Levine?
Is it Robert Levine?
He's uh he.
Do you ever watch the Food Network?
No.
Okay well he's he's featured very it's like a restaurant impossible.
He's a host of restaurant impossible.
But he he's an actual chef.
Oh yeah.
Well that's like you remember Alexander Cabot from um SVU?
Uh huh.
Yeah who she's married to?
No.
Bobby Flay.
Really?
Yep she is married to the Bobby Flay.
I did not.
But she's from here.
Yes she is.
Gorgeous.
Love her.
She is.
She's wonderful.
Also a Tara.
Yeah.
She actually referred to Tess Munker as Boo.
Like three different times.
Was anybody use that organ?
And it sounded creepy.
I'm sure it'll show.
It's going to be great Boo.
We're going to be tag team Boo.
I was like I'm sure it'll show up in another Beyonce song in a couple of months.
That's another one of my pet peeves.
And apparently we're now getting closer to
when sting got attacked on the impact at their slam
aversory by these guys and masks.
Apparently we're getting closer to finding out who these guys are
as they deliver a message to Hogan
with a bunch of playing cards to eights to aces
and then the card flipped over.
They're going to be called the aces and eights.
But we don't know who they are just yet.
Same with my friend Christy's band.
She plays gigs with me for an eight.
Just saying.
Maybe it's them.
Maybe so.
How crazy would that be?
That's...
That'd be awesome.
Hey if Montgomery Gentry can film their video in the impact zone,
why not?
There you go.
Hmm.
Oh, that's guy.
Can we King?
Shows up as part of the ex division.
He's going to be in the tournament tomorrow night.
For those of you that do not know who he is,
he is a former R now a former ROH wrestler.
Goes by one of his nicknames is the pretty boy Pitbull.
Oh, dude, Lord.
He's the guy who can wrestle.
The guy's good.
But here's the problem.
That's a pretty boy Pitbull.
Really come on.
Here's the problem.
He had a handshake deal with ROH to up his contract.
Never signed it.
He is also one half of the Ring of Honor tag team champion.
Wow.
That's awkward.
Rhett Titus.
They are called the All Night Express.
Rhett Titus, his nickname is he's addicted to love Rhett Titus.
His bits...
His do the bit as much anymore, but he used to do this bit where he'd bring
like a hotel key and give it to some girl in the audience.
That's so fun.
And he's just like...
He looks...
Oh, who can I compare him to?
He's not a pretty man.
I'm trying to...
I'll come up with it.
But yeah, he's not...
Like, I'm secure enough on my own masculine to say that's not a pretty man.
But he comes out in like a bow tie and...
Oh, it's a funny bit.
But he and Kenny came were a great tag team.
And so there's a lot of people in ROH that are really hacked off right now.
I would imagine.
I'm not leaving you holding the bag.
Also announced that bound for glory will be in Phoenix, Arizona,
the week after Chad's birthday, October the 14th.
I'm thinking probably next year he will be here.
Really?
Because Slama Versailles went very, very well.
Like it was the biggest crowd they've ever played in front of.
Despite the logistic nightmare that it turned into, as far as parking and...
Yeah, but it won't be at all this year.
It won't be at UTA.
But I think they could book this Moody Coliseum, SMU.
Why wouldn't they do the Dallas Conviction Center?
It's too big.
Even if they seconded it off, it's still too big.
I don't know about the Garland Special Events, you know.
You know what? Why not?
The Mesquite Rodeo, maybe?
We've had a couple of wrestling events there.
They're about to have another...
Little people wrestling thing there.
Why not?
I think that Slama Versailles proved that they can pull off a pay-per-view here,
and I think they do bound for the word next year over here.
How cool would it be if they had a TNA pay-per-view at the Mesquite Rodeo?
How much weirder is it going to be that TNA is going to have their biggest major in the year
before a WrestleMania happens in this town?
Oh, jeez.
We get screwed every year on them.
And then we move to Smackdown, whether you watched it Tuesday night or last night.
I watched the majority of it last night.
I watched it today.
Don't ask me why or how, but I did.
I did.
Maybe you already did Tuesday and I watched it today.
This commercial freaks me out.
It is not funny that it's the creepiest commercial of all time.
This is an audio-medium explain what you're watching.
There's a possum.
Possums are the nastiest animals.
They are the work of the devil.
And there's a possum, and he's pretending to play possum,
and then all of a sudden he just pops up and freaks the children out and freaks me out.
It's part of the guy go ahead, but I would have kicked him.
I'm not getting my foot dirty.
A possum devil, dude.
I have a good, good time, bad time thing with Michael Cole.
First of all, Michael Cole,
did you see the interview segment he did with AJ?
Yes.
Where he's starting to hit on her.
Here's my thing, dude.
If you want to work that bit fine,
take the wedding ring off.
Because when he started that bit, I specifically looked for the wedding ring.
And I'm like, that's just creepy.
He's creepy anyway.
Yeah, but still, I just think that...
Well, did Vince McMahon, whenever he flirts with the girls on screen,
does he have his ring on?
But there's a big difference between Vince and Michael Cole.
Like Vince...
Vince has worked himself into the position where he can kind of do that,
and you can kind of take it comedically.
With Cole, it's just oof.
But here's the other side of that.
We have the big six-man match, which is
the one of the teams is Santino, Sergeant Slotter, and Duggan.
Because we have to drag Duggan out for the fourth of July.
Of course.
Versus Unico, and the other dude, and Drew McIntyre.
Well, right in the middle of the match,
all six guys are in the ring at the same time.
And Cole says,
what did he say?
I read down.
Here's a shock, a breakdown in a six-man.
And I was like, oh, you know what?
I've given him points for that.
Because...
And he actually said at one point,
why is it every time we have a holiday,
we have to dig these fossils up,
Duggan and Slotter.
And I was like, you know what?
He had a point.
But a broken clock is right twice a day.
This one was right twice in about six minutes.
Blind Squirrel finds another nut every now and then.
But when he said,
here's a shock, a breakdown in a six-man.
I was like, thank you.
Thank you for that, Sergeant.
At least you acknowledge it.
Every once in a game,
you get something right.
But it's so rare.
And God bless, Haxon, Jim Duggan.
I put a shirt on that, dude.
He's got bigger boobs than my sister.
Just put a shirt on the dude.
Like, sting,
sting wears a singlet and a t-shirt.
There's a reason for that, you know?
It just, it wears me out.
And so they have a 20-man battle role.
Did you catch this?
They have a 20-man battle royal.
And the winner of the battle royal
gets to be the GM of SmackDown next week.
And you hear the debate that was going on between Cole and
Booker?
Is a royal or royale?
Yeah, royale or royale.
God, even Jules turned to me.
Oh, God, dude.
You gave this to me.
It's your fault.
Even Jules turned to me and said,
isn't this supposed to be an E after that?
I'll leave this with cheese.
Yeah.
So did you hear who won it?
No.
Tell me everything you know.
Woo, woo, woo.
You know it.
I won't be watching this.
Your GM of SmackDown next Friday night is one
Zach Ryder.
In.
That's your leader.
In.
I cannot wait for this.
I've gotten very tired of him very quickly.
Yeah, he doesn't.
But I'll tell you, I am enjoying Teddy getting his payback
on Eve, on Eve.
But I'll tell you what, did you watch that segment
where she got the punch dump, Donner?
Yeah.
Might want to wear a slip with that dress.
This is all we're saying.
I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Kind of freaked me out a little bit.
Did it freak you out or did it?
I guess because I wasn't expecting that to happen.
I would, I would have thought that somebody in
costuming would have checked that just to be sure.
I'm sure it was intentional.
And we're not going to have this discussion again.
Okay.
I'm letting the two of you know this now.
Did the session that this led to at lunch yesterday
were not having again, not on this show.
Yes, sir.
She knows what I'm talking about.
That's the important thing.
Okay.
We got Olympics talked pretty much already covered
because we talked about the dream team lineup.
But we didn't have the runoff.
Yeah, yeah.
One of them conceded to the other one.
Yeah, like that day, like a few hours before the runoff
was supposed to happen.
What was the name?
Also, I can't think of a name, but she said,
nope, not going to do it.
I'll just, I'll just back out.
Let's do a little geek corner.
Let me ask you something.
I was at an unnamed electronic store
that has a big yellow ticket out front today.
And they had their bargain bin for games.
Is Call of Duty a bargain bin item at $35?
Which version?
I don't remember.
It was a 360 game.
I'm about to say if it's, if it's monomorphic.
It wasn't monomorphic.
Three, I can say that.
Didn't know.
That's like 3499 sales.
My butt, that's a sale.
If it's Black Ops, possibly, maybe, but no.
I don't think so.
So I saw this story on EW Entertainment Weekly
as I was at EW.com the other day.
And I'm very intrigued.
Right now, in comics,
there is a storyline going on of Avengers versus X-Men,
which I'm told is an amazing story.
It looks, I mean, I've flipped through issue one.
I'm like, we talked to a friend of the show,
Brent Peoples last week who was here.
And he said it's a really good series.
But apparently, it's going to turn into a series
called Uncanny Avengers.
Here's the lineup you have my attention.
Thor, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Wolverine, and Havoc.
Sounds good to me.
Who's the leader?
Between Captain America and Wolverine,
or just who do you think the leader of the team is?
Do we have a leader?
Do we know who the leader is?
Yes, we do.
I do.
I pick Wolverine.
Incorrect.
I pick Thor.
Also incorrect.
I pick Captain America.
Also incorrect.
I pick the Scarlet Witch.
Also incorrect.
Really?
That is correct.
What an exhausting game.
That's just all he said to me.
Havoc is the leader of this team.
Why Havoc?
There's something about the, for the fallout of the events
in Avengers versus X-Men is how this happens.
Part of it that I've read is
after the events in Avengers versus X-Men,
Captain feels like he hasn't done enough
for the mutant community.
Is this like civil war fallout?
I don't know.
But man, I'm intrigued.
Godly.
So you've yet to read civil war?
Yeah, I know.
I'm waiting for the big uber collection.
So I don't have to guy like nine graphic novels.
Well, I've got the, I've got the, the,
prime point.
Do you have, but do you have every
part of it together?
No, I've got civil war prime.
But you know, I want every part of it together.
So I can read the entire story as I,
I don't know if they're ever going to do that.
I think they did.
But I think it's out of my price range.
But I'm very intrigued by this.
I'm hoping to hear more.
For those of you that are angry birds fans?
No.
Nope.
They're talking about doing a,
another sequel with what they turn the tables
where the pigs are now angry pigs.
The pigs get their payback.
You know, it's going to happen at some point.
And if there's free bacon involved on it.
And apparently, uh,
based on the success of the, uh,
the halo remake, the halo anniversary edition,
they came out around the holidays.
Uh, uh,
and I've got it.
It's great.
But they're talking about doing it for Halo 2 as well.
So I'm, I'm in on that because you can't play Halo 2 online anymore.
The original Xbox Halo 2 online.
They're doing that with a lot of past titles, aren't they?
Well, it's just like the only way you can play Halo 2 was through
with was the old Xbox, not Xbox 360,
but your Xbox disc.
But they shut the servers down for all past Xbox titles.
And next weekend is San Diego Comic-Con.
That'll probably be a lot more announcements.
Video gaming.
I guess that's,
Clay's going to be on the show.
I am going to be monitoring.
Of course, I'm going to have to set a lot of things on my DVR
between G4 and some,
a spike I think is doing a big deal for.
I think they are.
I think they do.
So I'm going to have to set for both of those.
One of the thing about San Diego Comic-Con is
a lot of big announcements happen.
There will be a Hobbit panel of one of my favorite moments from this week.
As you guys know, I'm a big fan of SourceFed
and the Philip DeFranco show.
And every Friday, SourceFed does what's called Comment Commentary.
And let me pull this up.
So I'm going to pull up a picture.
Let me be funny.
The Hobbit panel was a bunch of Hobbits.
That would be awesome.
What's not I'm trying to do?
Oh, they're going to be doing some fan service for fans of Marvel versus Capcom.
They're releasing the first two as Marvel versus Capcom origins.
Oh, really?
That's downloadable for the PS3 and 360 in September.
I'm trying to find a good picture of this guy so you can see who he is.
His name is Steve Zaragoza.
And he knows that name.
Okay, but he's on SourceFed.
Okay, that's why.
He's the guy with the beard and the glasses.
Okay.
And he makes a statement and he's like,
there's no way I'm getting into the Hobbit panel.
And somebody puts on the video.
Dude, you're going to get into the Hobbit panel.
Just tell him you're Peter Jackson.
And it blew the wheels up.
Wow.
Because he looks just like Peter Jackson.
And Philip DeFranco was actually on that comment commentary.
And he goes, I didn't see that until just now.
I thought it was brilliant.
But there's going to be a Hobbit panel.
There's going to be communities going to have a panel.
Which I'm very excited about.
I just, there's always such a cool stuff that happens to Comic-Con.
Plus it's in San Diego someday.
That's a great city.
Oh, I love that city.
When we did our bucket list, it's on mine.
Yep.
I've been there.
You've been there several times, you're all right?
I live there.
Yep.
I want to go.
I went there some of 85 and I said,
this is one of the greatest cities in the country.
I want to go.
Go.
It's me going to go in the street like time.
We'll go.
We'll go.
We end each and every episode of this show
with a list.
Which I don't have.
You never got the email.
Check here.
I sent it at 415.
I was wondering why I went on the right cheek.
You know, when you send stuff that late text me
because usually I shut my email down.
Oh.
Well, then it'll be a surprise to both of you.
Well, no, because I'm pulling it up right now.
I love surprises.
I know you do my love.
That was sarcasm by the way.
You don't like surprises?
I hate surprises.
Well, when it comes to me, it's me.
You're always going to get surprises
for Christmas in your birthday.
I'm not going to say it.
I know, but you're also not one of those
who comes to me like three months before
and you're like, I get a surprise for you
and you're like, oh, you get it in three months.
I hate people that do that.
I have a new follower on Twitter apparently.
A band called Roushie.
So there's your plug Roushie
for following me on Twitter.
The Roushie or Roush, R-A-U-S-H-I?
Roushie.
Anyway.
So let's go, uh, go to the list.
Okay, so you did go through this?
Yes.
Okay, good, because that's what I've kind of set up
as the music for the list.
Did you?
Yes, I did.
Very good.
It was a list.
I already have a point of contention.
For what?
What are you?
Okay, go ahead and say what the list is for.
It's my list of my favorite concert films of all time.
Okay, qualify.
Uh, if it's been shot and released either on television or theatrically
or just released directly, uh, direct to DVD,
if it's a, if it's a film performance,
I quantify it as a concert film.
To me, I only counted if it's normally theatrically.
Uh, it was my, but it's not my list.
So it's, but it's too hard to make a top 10 list of movies that I love
that were concert films.
So I kind of had to spread it a little thinner.
Okay.
And two of them are represented,
three of them are represented in songs that I've selected.
Oh, so, uh, number 10.
And I actually made an addendum to this.
I kind of got a two-way tie for number 10
because I wanted to put it on the list
and I didn't know how to quite put it on it
because everything else was music, right?
But there is a concert film
by very, very successful comedian
that you and I have probably seen so many times.
We know what positioning was standing in when he delivered any given line.
I tied you to his rattling humming with Eddie Murphy Raw.
Because I didn't,
because I had to put YouTube's rattling home on the list
because of the various art concert films
because he does that in concert films.
To me, when I think concert film, I think music, right?
Yeah, that's what I was wondering.
Yeah, I have rattling home on vinyl.
I actually bought it on CD for the first time.
That's right.
Really?
I love it.
But, uh, and I do love it.
Uh, it, it, it rattling home had to be on the list.
Even though I'm not the world.
That's where this song comes from.
Even though I'm not the world's biggest YouTube fan,
greatest rock band in my generation.
I respect what they have done and continue to do.
Uh, and, you know, this, this, this brought people in droves to see a concert film.
And this was world, this song, especially, is like world's colliding for you.
Oh, because of who they do it with.
Oh, yeah, absolutely.
I love this song.
Great performance of one love company down.
I've got a tribute album to them.
It's a really good version of this too.
Number nine, the Kiss Symphony,
a live four, where they teamed up with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Here's my point of contention.
What's that?
I would put SNM before I put this.
I'm a bigger Kiss fan than a Metallica.
Right, but again, you're list.
I'm just saying my point of contention is if you're going to do this bit,
for me, it's going to be SNM because that was really,
which is, which is the, uh, San Francisco Symphony in Metallica.
They were the ones that really kind of put this thing on the map
in this era, but I've never seen it.
Oh, it's awesome.
Because I've just reading the liner notes,
because you know, Michael Cayman wrote all the orchestral stuff.
The late, great phenomenal, and in the liner notes, he does the liner notes.
And he goes, there were people that I've known as renowned cellists and violinists
that at the break are sweating just through all of their clothes,
and their tuxedos are disheveled.
He says, I've never seen that before.
I think the thing that really got me about the whole, uh,
Kiss thing was that the symphony themselves performed at Kiss Make.
Yes, they did.
In tuxed and formal dresses.
Let's see, I wish they was a tuniskset,
and I wish they hadn't played the first disc straight.
Yeah, if you're going to come into the bit, come into the bit.
I was like, God, a thunder.
I thought was awesome.
Oh, my God.
That's my problem.
My favorite track, too.
That's the thing I always target.
Hello, people.
That was for gum.
Is that on blu-ray?
Um, I can look that up for you.
Because I don't have it anymore.
Go to your next one, I can tell you.
This is for you, sweetheart.
Errol Smith, you got to move.
Because it's pretty much the only thing they've done.
This is the only live DVD they've ever put out.
Really?
Yes.
And it's on the tour that we, it's on the honk on Bobo tour.
honk it on Bobo.
They come out there with toys in the attic.
I will never forget that.
Just DVD only.
DVD not available on blu-ray currently.
We darn.
But I've worn that thing out.
I've worn you got to move completely out.
Number seven,
this one's for my mom.
Andrea Bacheli, under a desert sky.
You're going to hear me.
Are you with you, anything?
Bacheli related.
Because that dude is phenomenal.
He opens this thing with a song called Amapola,
which is one of the most gorgeous songs I've ever heard in my life.
And he's playing at a resort in the middle of the desert outside of Vegas.
And they have this establishing shot where he's standing on the bridge.
And it looks like an Italian villa where they've done this thing.
I can't tell you the name of the place off the top of my head.
But it's an aerial helicopter shot of him just going around him
as he's belting this song out on this bridge.
And you're like, you're in for something amazing.
When you know you're about to get into your mind blown.
Number six,
George Michael live in London.
That was a good performance.
Anytime they go to the,
and oddly enough,
one of my favorite parts of this whole show was just the video that they show
of John and Elvis are dead.
It's one of my favorite George Michael songs ever.
And it's just the video performance of it.
But his performance is shoot the dog,
blows the wheels off the entire house.
If for no other reason, the big inflatable George Bush that's on the stage.
It's pretty funny.
Uh, number five,
Depeche Mode 101.
Hmm, interesting that you would say that.
Robin, I discussed this at, kind of at length a couple of weeks ago.
In five, four, three, two, one, and go.
Okay.
From the say, say it in the track.
Well, I thought it was, uh,
I thought it was, uh,
reality bites or no, no, no, no, no, no, sir.
This is on the say anything.
That's right.
Okay.
Who are you talking to?
Yeah.
Well, I know I could have sworn they had a track either on reality bites or
I've got the reality bites that I don't think the movie about the record store,
or Jack Black that you're always telling empire, empire, empire, I can look that up.
I thought it was one of those two things that were a track for this was also featured in.
This is, there is no Depeche Mode on the reality bites on track.
This is stripped.
Great song.
Great version of this song too.
And this was the album that got me into Depeche Mode.
I had never really listened to anything that had ever done.
And my good friend Delaun was as big of a Depeche Mode fan as anyone ever met.
And I got ahold of this and was completely blown away by this thing.
And the film itself is a concert film slash documentary.
They take a bunch of kids and put them on a bus and have them follow the band across the country.
No Depeche Mode on the empire record side.
But a lot of people like we were talking about consider this the beginning of the whole
road rules real world thing.
Because it was literally just a group of fans following them around the camera.
It was a great concept.
And the performance itself was just mind blowing.
Number four.
Steve Irvon is Austin City Limits performances for public television.
Because it's two different parts of his career.
Genius.
The very, very beginning and literally the very, very end.
I mean within weeks of the performance shooting the second part of this special,
he was dead in the helicopter crash.
And you saw him like in the beginning of his career still finding his footing on stage.
But ripping through voodoo child like nobody's business.
And he ends the second segment with one of my favorite songs.
It's all instrumental.
It's called Riviera Paradise.
Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
And when he does that live he hits the last note.
And he just kind of looks at the crowd and winks and walks off.
And it was almost like he almost kind of knew.
He said that one was for y'all just for y'all and walks off.
I always love that performance.
Number three is Seal in Paris.
Great performance.
I went out and got this thing literally.
Rather on the time we went and saw him at the Nokia.
And it was almost like you're welcome.
It was like reliving the entire experience all over again.
It was very little difference.
And that's a good thing.
That version of Hey Joe.
Oh god.
So great.
I mean just didn't he start that?
No he finished it with the future of Paradise.
Yes.
Yeah.
The phenomenal live performer.
I came in there with no real expectations of what he was like live.
Just because he's such a great performer and artist on his own.
Very few people can do what they can take what they can put on a record and put on stage.
And there's very little difference.
He's one of them.
You can't really tell the difference.
Number two.
What I have, what I read just recently, like within the last couple of days.
The most successful concert film of all time now.
Michael Jackson's, this is it.
We saw a midnight showing.
Opening night.
Uh-huh.
And I've said people that thought he was done or that he was decaying.
Watch the performance of human nature.
Exactly.
And that's all you need to know.
God.
Like there's no doubt in your mind this guy's still got it.
He always has.
He always did.
And I don't think that's going to be any big shock.
No, not any secret as to what my number one on this list is.
The one concert film I've probably got burned into my cortex and I've seen it about
50,000 times.
His prints is sign of the times.
Couple you left off your list.
We'll start with two of my leaders.
Okay.
Bill Collins, first final farewell tour.
I didn't know I'm from Paris.
I wanted to, I just didn't know which one to put.
Billy Joel.
Live at Shay Stadium.
Uh-huh.
Live aid.
That's a big one though.
But that's that qualifies.
I'm trying to think if there was a couple others that came to mind as we were talking about this.
Rattling home was the big one for me.
Because it was just amazingly done.
And you saw another great one in this.
We're going to go off the beaten path here a little bit.
Um, DC Talk.
The free at last documentary.
Where free at last was probably their biggest album.
The most commercial came right after that, which was, which was Jesus Freak.
If you watch that documentary, you see the band starting to go in different directions.
And when you can capture that on film, it's a really an amazing, amazing thing.
I wanted, I wanted to put it on the list, even without having seen it.
Just because I love the concept of it, was that one that the Beastie Boys did?
Oh, hey, man, I shot that.
Awesome.
I, you know, black and shot this.
Do you know the concept of this thing, Charlotte?
It's available on DVD.
Yeah.
Rather than hire a big name director to come in and shoot a concert film,
they passed out 50 video cameras to people in the crowd.
It said shoot it.
And they spent about a year editing it together.
And the end result is what they released on DVD.
And it turned out okay.
It turned out incredibly good.
A lot of critical acclaim.
Yeah.
I was like, that's really brilliant.
There are, weren't they also the first musical group to have a video collection done
by the criterion collection?
I believe they were.
Yeah.
That says a lot.
I mean, these guys were rimming with creative power.
They never stopped being creative.
And the fact that we lost MCA this year is just devastating to that music.
That particular part of the music community, because we lost a heck of a voice.
So that's the list.
That is the list.
It's depends on those things back to me for next week.
Do not forget, like our page on Facebook.
Look up the Clubhouse podcast.

We're looking forward to season three, beginning next week.
Remember, you can catch any part of this show that you've missed it on Archive.
Going all the way back to August of 2010,

which was a mess.
But it is available.
It's out there we talked about it last week.

five o'clock on the West Coast for Chad for Charlotte.
My name is Rob and we're going to take you home oddly enough
with this track in three, two, one.
I kind of figured that's where we were going with this time.
Might as well have queued it up.
You're a psychic.
Until next Saturday at eight o'clock on the East Coast,
five o'clock on the West Coast for Chad and Charlotte.
I am Rob.
Clubhouse after this song is closed.
It's been in a game called The Disciples High on Crack.
The total number she ain't gunned.
Time.
Time.
Her can't either rip her ceiling off a church and kill every one inside.
You turn on the telling every other story,

We'll send the people to the moon.
Except him and my cousin tried to reap it before the very first time.
Now it's good horse.
It's just...
Time.
