The following is a sooner or gator production.
Noice, noice, noice.
Good morning!
Woo!
Joe, stop.
Are you ready for the jam?
I said are you ready for the jam?
Yo, gee.
Kick it.
Drummers, please!
Keep it going, uh.
Keep it going, uh.
Terry!
Wait!
Hey, y'all, I'm bringing heat.
Beasts and all, hot topics every week.
It is 8 o'clock on the east coast.
It is 5 o'clock on the west coast.
It is Saturday nights.
It is the 26th of May in the year of our Lord 2000 and 12,
which means the clubhouse is on the air season 2 episode 44.
We welcome each one of you individually, whether you are listening live right here on
DoStream, whether you are listening on your portable device or whether you are listening on
the archive.
We welcome you individually.
We don't care how you listen.
We just appreciate you listening.
It is Memorial Day weekend.
I am Rob.
Chad is working.
I know he's here with us in spirit.
He's got about 5 more weeks for he gets free on a Saturday night.
But he's working.
And that's the important thing.
Almost a month for him.
So we're very proud of him.
Sitting in the Chad seat tonight.
We're moving things around a little bit.
A man who has not been on the show in many moons and we were trying to get him on last week
but he was busy meeting Stanley and people of his ilk.
But we got him for this week.
He is John.
Hello everyone.
Good evening sir.
How are you?
I'm doing fine and I'm very happy to be back.
It's good to have you back sir.
Also joining us tonight.
We couldn't pull out chicken studio.
Sharwa's got graduation going on tonight.
But she said she would let me know she was able to break away early.
But also joining us was in the Chad seat last week.
Decided he wanted to have a little bit more room to maneuver this week.
He is Brandon.
Hey how's it going?
I'm Wilson.
How are you?
All right.
I'm starting to feel like that family member that you let come stay until they get on their feet
and then just going to move it in.
Sir, you are welcome on this show anytime.
Don's joined us.
Good to see you sir.
And a happy memorial day to you.
It was a beautiful day today.
If I didn't have so much crap on my DVR.
I got through all of CSI Vegas.
I'm on the season finale of CSI New York.
So I'm slowly but surely.
And then after that I got like 12 episodes of 30 Rock to get through.
So I think we're under 150 recordings now.
So I'm whittling it just a little bit at a time.
So hopefully I have some more time tomorrow.
Monday I have to work.
But we'll get through that.
Let us get to corrections right about now.
It is a rare occasion that not only did that we have back-to-back shows on a weekend
because it was a pay-per-view weekend.
But it is a rare occasion that we have back-to-back shows with no corrections.
That's pretty good.
That's awesome.
That's awesome.
Good job.
And given the way Saturday night went, I'm very shocked we were going to eat.
Because Saturday night was incredibly wheels off.
But it was a good show.
If you miss it, it's called Coolator Evil Doors.
Go back and listen to that show.
I told Charlotte that if I'm ever in a bad mood,
all she has to do is just call me and say evil-doors as a George W.
Every time she said that I would go like a school girl.
You got to love the awesomeness of Charlotte.
Oh, I do love my little sister.
Kind of a bittersweet weekend for her.
I saw her post on Facebook the other day she said,
this is the last graduating class she'll see at Horn because she's not going to be working
there next year.
Yeah.
She's going to be finishing up her teaching degree.
So I am proud of my little sister.
She's done a lot of work.
She's done it very well.
So good job, Charlotte.
We're about to you kiddo.
So let us just go ahead and dive right in and do a little, uh,
Nascore.
Nascore.
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that much out of the side.
So last week we had the Sprink Showdown.
I guess this is kind of like their break week.
So there's no points at stake here.
But they had that in the All Star Race last Saturday night.
And I feel really bad because let's go through the top 10.
We've got two numbers 10 and 9 had the same sponsor.
Which is kind of weird.
There's number 10 in 10th place you have
Travis Kavapal.
I can't even, I'm vapo.
Is that how you say that?
In the number 93 Toyota Burger King Dr. Pepper car.
And then in ninth place you have in the number 83 Toyota
Burger King Dr. Pepper car landing Castiles.
I think you could do that.
But I guess this is one of those weird races in the Sprink Showdown.
Eighth place Jeff Burton in the number 31 Chevrolet, cat, BB and T-car.
Seventh place you have in the Smithfield for number 43, Eric Almarola.
Joey Logano in the Toyota Home Depot number 20 car.
Comes in sixth place in fifth place.
Very excited. I get to say it.
One Pablo Montoya killed my father prepared to die.
In the number 42 target Chevrolet.
Number four Martin Truex Jr. in the number 56 Napa Auto Parts Toyota.
Number and third in the bronze battle.
In the Chevrolet Bass Pro Shops All-State number one car, Jamie McMurray.
Who if I'm not mistaken a favorite of the Kevin and Lisa?
Yes.
Let's talk right into that microphone John.
So I'm sure Kevin was very happy.
Kevin very happy with that.
In the silver medal and the Dodge Pencil number 22 goes to AJ Almond Dinger.
The only way I can ever use Almond Dinger in a sentence.
And winning the Sprink Showdown.
I'm so frustrated right now.
Guy gets a win and a win doesn't count in points.
Winning the Sprink Showdown in the number 88 Dale Jr. Foundation National Guard
Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins a race and it doesn't count.
But then you also have the Sprink All-Star race.
I guess this is the deal where they do the deal where like there's like 10 laps at a time
and then if you're in the front you go to the back or something.
Oh look at the Celtic girls and the white outfits tonight.
We are watching live Celtic Sixers game seven.
If for no other reason because John is here and he that way he does not beat this his beloved Celtics.
Got to watch him.
Brad, I'm sorry.
Brad the pass.
Want to make it feel like you're there.
10th place in the Sprink All-Star race goes to the number 39 tornado Chevrolet Ryan.
Number nine, number nine.
In the Chevrolet number five Farmers Insurance Fund that I'm pump pump pump.
Casey Kane.
Eighth place in the Sprink All-Star race.
In the number 51 Monster Energy Chevrolet Kurt Busch.
Seventh place in the DeWalt number nine Ford Marcus Ambrose.
Sixth place in the Budweiser Reame number 29 Chevrolet Kevin Harvick.
Fifth place though for Dale Earnhardt Jr.
in the number 88 Dale's Jr. Foundation National Guard Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet.
I think he needs more sponsors.
In fourth place the number 18 Toyota M&M's Kyle Busch.
Bronze medal goes.
Oh, I've heard of this.
I've just never seen it on a car.
Just go with me on this.
In the number 17 Ford sponsored by Fifth Third Bank.
So are they the fifth bank to be the third bank?
Or are they like a bank in two thirds?
A fifth of the third?
Or fifth no it's the fifth third bank.
So are they the fifth bank to be the third bank?
Or do they equal one in two thirds banks?
You got me, man.
I'm very confused by this.
How about the first Baptist church?
Matt Kenseth the silver medal goes to the number two Miller Light Dodge driven by one
Brad keselowski and winning the Sprink All-Star race in the Lowes Patriotic.
Number 48 Chevrolet five time five time five time five time five time Sprink Cup champion Jimmy
Johnson. I really believe he should just do that because Booker T's not using it anymore.
He should be able to use it.
I'm just saying.
Going to your Sprink Cup standings.
Pretty much nothing's going to change but we'll run him over for you right now.
The number 12 spot the lucky 12 spot right now would go to brass keselowski.
I guess they did have some points in this thing because people were moving.
Clint Boyer in 11th Carl Edwards in 10th Kyle Busch nine Kevin Harvick eight Tony
Stewart seven or as we like to call him.
Martin Shweck's junior six Jimmy five time five time five time five time five time
Sprink Cup champion Jimmy Johnson in fifth.
Denny Hamlin four Dale Earnhardt junior is in third place 14 points out.
Matt Kenseth is only two points behind your leader Greg Biffle.
Coming up tomorrow afternoon tomorrow is always a weird day because you have
two different races on the same day.
Tomorrow morning starting at noon Eastern you have the Indianapolis 500
and then at 530 Eastern you have the Coca Cola 600 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Oddly enough in Charlotte North Carolina.
There used to be was two guys that actually would do both races.
Tony Stewart was one and it was one of the Bush Brothers.
They would do the Indy 500 and they'd get on a helicopter and fly the Charlotte
to do the Coca Cola 600.
I don't think they're allowed to do that anymore.
That's a very long day too.
That is a long day.
Long tiring.
Good.
All right.
So from Indiana to North Carolina and then drive another 500 miles is true.
No, they fly it.
Oh, you drive it.
I don't know.
They fly it, but they fly it, but they drive 600 miles in Charlotte.
I just wow.
You'd have to take a week off.
Your body would be in shock at that point.
I don't know how they do it.
But I'll tell you what.
The other day I make no mistake or no bones on the show that I love the show.
Dan Levitard is highly questionable.
John also a big fan of the Levitard being from South Florida.
Exactly.
Very familiar from there.
They had a Frank Keede on the other day.
Got a lot of respect.
I mean, I respected him before, but after that interview,
gained a lot more risk.
That guy is cool as a fan.
Mr. Ashley Judd.
Yes, Mr. Ashley Judd.
And he talked about, you know,
that he has the most frightened you've ever been in a race car.
And they showed a wreck from my two years ago where his car
like flew up like 30 feet in the air.
And that's open wheel.
I mean, there's there's nothing between your head and the asphalt,
but air and opportunity.
Yeah, it's true.
You don't have a roof like you do in the ass.
Well, Jack thought was awesome.
So that's going to go on tomorrow.
If you are a racing fan, get up early.
That's your seatbelt because here we go.
A lot of racing going on tomorrow.
And we'll update you that, of course, on next week's show.
As by the way, you now only have 37 shopping days left until my birthday.
Thanks for the reminder.
I'm here to help you are listening to the clubhouse.
We are live each and every Saturday night,
eight o'clock on the east coast,
five o'clock on the west coast right here on you stream.
Like the show on Facebook.
Look up the clubhouse podcast.
Follow this show on Twitter at clubhouse show.
You can follow me on Twitter.
Yes, that Rob Irvin, ERVI.
And you can follow me at SFL native 72.
And me at Dark Wahlberg D-A-R-K-W-A-A-L-B-E-R-Z.
And follow Chad at Chad N-P-G-6-9.
He was here for the pay-per-view.
And he'll be, she should be here for next month's pay-per-view as well.
And Charlotte Parker.
And Charlotte Parker.
Charlotte Parker, I'm addressed.
Yes, Charlotte Parker, Pinterest.
Right now, we're going to do a little music news.
You'd actually hear...
You may hear this version of Stuck in Union.
Like this doesn't sound like the regular version of Stuck on you.
It's because it's not.
You did hear Lionel Richie.
But I'm going to play a little bit of this.
Hold on.
Because I want you to hear who else is singing on this.
That is Derrius Ruckershirt.
This is from an album called Tuskegee.
We've talked about this album on this show.
This album is amazing.
Charlotte Julie's had it for a while.
She downloaded it.
So you have, you have given this thing a spin.
Yes.
Whether you like country music or not,
this is really, really good.
Now, there's some songs that...
Like, dancing on the ceiling I could have done without.
Because that's to me, that's one of his lesser hits.
But it's got this one.
It's got Salon.
It's got him and Chenaya doing endless love.
Hello, Nurse.
Congratulations.
By the way, the week before this release,
he went on QVC or something of its ilk.
Did a one-hour deal with this album.
Soul 10,000 copies in that one hour.
Wow.
It is right now, as we sit here on May the 26th,
the number two best-selling album of 2012.
Also making it the best-selling album released in 2012 so far.
Because the only album it's behind is the juggernaut
that's not leaving any time soon,
known as Adele's 21.
Do you realize that album has sold
over almost 20 million albums worldwide?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a lot.
It's a great album.
Yeah, it is.
It's a great album.
Yeah.
But it's sold...
Tuskegee has sold 789,000 copies
since it released what two months ago?
If that...
Well, I remember Chenaya telling me about it.
It probably about two months ago.
Yeah, probably about two or three months from it at least.
And I like the Comma Doors.
The Lion of Richie is greatness.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, this guy can't go along with the great Lion of Richie.
He's one of those that's on my concert bucket list.
I had a buddy of mine I worked with years ago
when he saw him, they were in Vegas
and they're hunting when he was doing a show.
I was like, don't be ashamed of that.
That dude's greatness.
Yeah.
He still got the pipes, dude.
Nicole Richie, hell, there's that.
And so the Billboard Music Awards happened Sunday night.
I didn't even know until the next day.
I watched him.
Uh, what'd you think?
They were terrible.
Were they...
Nobody's ever at the Billboard.
Did they even advertise this thing?
Because I don't remember seeing any commercials.
That's not one commercial.
That's the only reason I remembered it.
And I sent my little DVR alarm.
I honestly do not.
I don't remember even this thing even being advertised.
Like, I woke up the next day and I was reading Yahoo.
And I was like, oh, that was last night.
Because I'm used to those...
Oh, it's the American Music Awards that are in November.
That's what I was thinking.
Yeah, and then the Gram is on February.
Yeah, and the Gram is, yeah.
But I do know that the week from tomorrow
is the MTV Movie Awards.
And we're going to talk about those here in a little while.
And then the Spike Guys Choice Awards is two weeks from tonight?
There's going to be an old school reunion
of the entire cast and the director of old school
at the Guys Choice Awards.
Nice.
So, earmuffs, that's all I'm saying.
Yeah, the only reason I knew the ability to run was
people posting about it on Facebook.
Yeah, well, we were at the pay-per-view.
Yeah, so it was just kind of like,
oh, okay, so that happened.
Let's see.
Then there's this.
I read today that apparently there's going to be a new version of Annie,
which on this show last week,
Charlotte did say, is her favorite movie of all time.
I learned a lot about my little sister on this show last week.
And I was just like, Annie, really.
No, we're redoing it.
Going to be produced by Jay-Z, apparently.
And I'm sorry, produced by Will Smith.
And the soundtrack is going to be by Jay-Z.
Um, sure?
I mean, I like Hover.
Don't get me wrong.
But I don't know.
And then it's going to star Willow Smith.
Of course, her dad's putting up the money.
And but it's going to be written by Emma Thompson.
Am I living in Bizarre World?
There's a lot of different people associated with this.
Emma Thompson is writing the script.
I like, I had to read that like three times.
I ain't sure I read it right.
It's
kind of throws out the hip-hop twist I had put on the thing.
Emma Thompson writing it.
I don't, maybe she can flow.
I don't know.
I just, as long as we don't whip my hair back and forth,
that's all I'm asking.
Unless it's Doc doing that song.
Because if you've heard Doc do that song, then it's genius.
I haven't heard him do that song.
It's on, it's on, you're on the back on the archive.
The episode's called Doc Whips his hair back and forth.
Okay.
We get in a music talk and he does his version of,
it's like if Ramstein had done with my hair.
By the way, Ramstein was in town last week.
He was there.
I did see Adam on Facebook.
His, the lovely Amy, his girlfriend put on Facebook
that Doc was making her go to Ramstein.
And I'm telling you, they were, I guess that,
with Doc's right, that stage set must be huge.
Because Chad and I were going to work.
And we drove past the arena at like one in the afternoon.
All the trucks were there.
All the buses were there.
And I was like, this must take a long time
for this thing to get put together.
Because they're here already.
So I haven't had a chance to talk to Doc
and see how it went.
I know Sin Guy, a friend of the show,
WWE Sin Guy, he was there.
Said he wound up in the pit.
He goes, he goes, I can take pictures,
but the pictures will not do what I am watching justice.
So there's that.
Speaking of things related to Jay Z.
Yes, and I know that's Kanye,
but that's where we're going with this.
Watch The Throne 2 has been officially confirmed by the producer.
He's currently working on the good music album.
As soon as he's done with that,
they said they're going to be working
on Watch The Throne 2, which should be out by,
I think he said by the end of the year.
Yeah, but that means we're going to have Kim Kardashian
involved in this deal.
I hope not.
I hope he leaves her out.
But every time he has a girlfriend,
he brings out a good album after he breaks it.
Well, maybe it's not going to be a split up.
Yeah, but the guy that's producing it is the guy that produced his,
my twisted dark fantasy album.
So that Watch The Throne concert was probably the greatest hip-hop concert
which I've been there, dude.
I don't want to go.
And it was just Kanye and Jay Z.
Kanye, I can take her leave.
I'm a big Jay Z fan, but when Kanye works with Jay Z,
it's just like, it makes awesome, even awesomer.
Yeah.
So I need to get a copy of that first album, too.
I haven't picked it up yet.
I knew I was out there.
I was out in about today, too.
Oh, well.
Music new releases in your local record store,
if they call them that anymore on Tuesday.
I just had a brain fart.
American Idol alumni,
Crystal Bauer Sox releases once upon a time.
We have the return of the insane clown posse
who's actually going to come up during the show twice tonight.
They released the mighty death pop on Tuesday.
Did these guys have any relevance anymore?
Or did they just get all the fans that limp biscuit left behind?
I don't know.
There's a lot of people who love ICP for some reason.
I don't get them.
Public image limited, public image limited,
who also I didn't know was still around.
This is a piece of the sex pistols.
Pretty much.
Released.
This is P.I.L.
I don't know if that's a greatest hits album or not.
Regina Specter, Indeed Darling, returns with.
This is what we saw from the cheap seats.
The Scissor Sisters, which Doc loves to talk about,
released Magic Hour and Wade Bowen,
country superstar releases The Given this week.
Not a lot going on.
I guess we're somewhere getting ready to be in full swing.
You're going to have a lot of the festival tours and things of its ilk.
I've looked at the local concert calendar here,
and not a lot of big shows coming to town this year.
I know they're doing a show.
It's like bear naked ladies, cracker,
big head top and the monsters and somebody else,
and it's called The Last Summer, too, or ever.
Because we're all going to be gone next year.
One thing I do want to see, I don't think this is not music.
I guess it could be, is the Michael Jackson experience,
the Circus L.A.
That isn't just over a month.
That looks awesome.
I would like to get right in the middle of the week though I can't go.
And the tickets are crazy.
I may just wait until it gets to Vegas and just take a trip to Vegas and make that part of it.
I'm sure you could probably buy like a hotel package with that.
Because I would like to see it.
Because I've got the soundtrack and the soundtrack is amazing.
Is it the soundtrack?
Yeah, the Immortal soundtrack has been out for like since February.
There's a one disc and a two disc.
I have the two disc and it sounds gorgeous.
Some of the stuff they've done with it.
I'm looking forward to see how it relates to the visual part of it.
Let us move on and do the MMA talk right now.
Where to go?
There I am.
UFC 146 is tonight.
This is what they call the night of heavyweights.
Your main event, Junior Dos Santos has his very first defense of the world heavyweight title.
As he takes on Frank Mirr.
This was supposed to be
Alistair Overeem until he tested positive for performing to the Dancing Drums.
So Frank Mirr steps in.
Frank Mirr was supposed to fight Roy Country Nelson.
Roy Country Nelson's fighting somebody else now.
The last quiz is,
Kim Vosquez is on this, about on this tonight as well.
It should be a good night.
That's what I understand.
I got a couple co-workers are pretty pumped to watch this tonight.
This was the show being on Saturday nights.
I just don't get a chance anymore.
Plus, I have got to get some sleep tonight.
I got to get up at three in the morning.
Why I'm drinking Diet Mountain Dew after I say that is beyond me.
Ultimate fighter updates from last night.
We find out that all but four of the participants will fight on the finale next Friday night,
which is going to be a three hour finale for the Ultimate Fighter Live.
The fighter is not fighting.
You've got Dan Ogle,
who is not cleared after having a concussion.
He was very upset. He talked to Dana.
Dana was like, look, I can't let you.
I mean, I'm double in your time.
You're supposed to be out 45.
I'm keeping you out 90, but you will get to fight.
And he's from Manchester and he said to Dana,
hey, I know you're doing an event in Manchester in late August.
And Dana goes, you want to fight on that?
And he goes, yeah, he goes, done.
You know, say what you want about Dana White.
A, he's a great businessman.
He's turned the UFC into a global phenomenon.
And the guy's got a heart.
I mean, he can be a D-bag when he wants to be.
And sometimes his brain doesn't work before his mouth does.
But the guy puts out a great product and he does care about his employees.
Yeah, he cares about him.
If I think if he sees a little potential in you,
he'll give you that.
He'll give you a shot.
Also not fighting on the finale.
Nick from Hellpachel.
The only reason he's not fighting is he was supposed to fight James Vic.
But James Vic is not medically cleared.
So that's the reason he's not fighting on the finale.
Also on the finale, you're going to have Jake Ellenberger versus Martin Campman.
That's going to be a great fight.
Your undercards actually going to be on Fuel TV.
Also be advised.
Next Saturday night, Fuel TV starts showing the Ultimate Fighter Brazil.
That they've been showing on UFC TV this whole time.
They're actually going to show it on Fuel.
My DVR is set because I would like we talked about on this show last week.
Apparently like at least half of these guys.
According to reports I am reading could fight in the UFC right now.
That's how good these guys are.
I'm very much looking forward to watching that.
Let's talk about what's going to happen in the finale.
Your first semi-final fight, Michael Kiesa from Team Favour beats James Vic of Team Crews.
They talk the whole time going into the fight.
We don't want Vic to get on the ground because that's where
Kiesa keeps Kiesa standing up.
He almost had Kiesa in that first round.
In the second round, Kiesa caught him.
Got the dominant position and it was.
I mean, just just throwing bombs at the kids head couldn't defend himself.
And the other quarter final.
And then they just said by final.
Al Iacquince of Team Favour's number one pick,
beats Vince from Hell, but Shell in a just brutal slug fest in that thing.
So Team Favour versus Team Favour in the final.
And then instead of the coach's final on July 7th because Dominic
Crews that with a torn ACL.
It will be your Raya Favour.
I can't remember the guy's name.
We mentioned it last week in the kids of Beast.
Brow.
Yeah.
That's going to be a fight.
Because Brow's a young up and coming star.
Favour's always entertaining when he fights.
I think it's going to be a great fight on July the 7th.
Do you want to remind you to join us at Fox and Hound on Father's Day?
June 17th is your next pay-per-view WWE no way out.
We will be there on the air at 6 o'clock central time,
preparing you for the pay-per-view.
Great poster if you haven't seen the poster for this thing.
It's one of those old timey looking like, you know,
guy tying the girl to the railroad tracks.
But it's AJ tying Daniel Bryan to the railroad tracks.
It's kind of cool.
She looks great.
And she looks great anyway.
But in that old timey flowing dress.
Yeah.
Great poster.
Nice.
We will be there.
Come join us.
$5 cover.
We packed both rooms again.
We probably had 150 people out there this time.
We have become the place for WWE pay-per-views.
Fox and Hound in Richardson, Texas.
Just west of Central Expressway.
On Campbell Road right behind the McDonald's.
North side of the road.
Get there early so you can get a good seat.
Great food and drink specials.
I did try the sliders on Sunday.
That buffalo sauce kick you right in the butt.
I almost had to say something else.
That buffalo sauce is good.
I know how.
What the hell?
I also had a burger that night as well.
The food is good.
They've got new flatbread pizzas.
They put a bunch of new items on the menu.
And they do have, they do have great food there.
Yes.
And you can, I mean, they've got screens everywhere.
It's not like you're getting on one screen.
We crank the bad boy up because we have our own volume control in the room.
It's just awesome.
So join us.
You know, if you got kids telling us what you want to do for Father's Day.
Bring me to Fox and Hound.
Come watch the pay-per-view.
I'll take my kids.
Do you can do that?
Phil can do that.
Phil who's on show a couple of weeks ago.
I didn't hear from him today.
I didn't hear from him today.
I need to give him a call.
So, let us move on and do a little NFL talk.
We don't have a lot to talk about an NFL talk, but there is one story.
Oh.
I love when people have dreams.
The NFL PA has a dream.
They are suing the league for four billion with a B dollars.
A lot of money because here's what happened.
If you remember, in 2010, the year before this show took the air.
Now this would have been during that year because it was our first year on the air.
It's 2010 because we'll hit our second anniversary in July.
That was a capital year.
The NFL told the teams we're not doing a salary captain to this year,
which I said was very dangerous because you could get to a point where you can't have one.
Baseball.
Well, we find out a couple of months ago that due to overspending that the Cal Bois
are hit with a $10 million penalty and the Redskins are hit with a $36 million penalty.
So now, the NFL PA is suing the league for four billion dollars for what they call.
And this is a direct quote, a secret salary cap.
Somebody want to explain this to me.
Is this retaliation for the Vilma thing?
If you can't show us proof that Vilma did this,
we're going to sue you and make you show.
And we're going to say we have proof of you having a secret salary cap.
But it's secret, so we wouldn't know that it was there.
I'm very confused by this.
Yeah, I'm lost.
You said it was a cap year.
It was a capless year.
Uncapped year.
But the Cal Bois and the Redskins overspent.
And to me, I guess my interpretation of this is exactly what I said a minute ago.
They spent so much money that they tried to force the league to keep it capless or to raise the cap
by saying we can't afford to be under the cap with all these salaries we're paying these players.
I wish this is at the times I wish I was some kind of like an economic major or something like that.
Is the NFLPH just like the worst union ever?
Well, um, yeah, I think that because given Roger Goodell,
the he's the judge jury and executioner.
Let me start asking somebody about that the other day and they went, I know it was on PTI.
They asked me about that and they're like, well, in negotiations sometimes you have to,
you know, you have to give and you have to take.
It's like, no, you're an idiot.
Let me take the boss and let him have the final say on everything.
checks and balances and we don't need them.
And that collected bargaining agreements for good for what?
15 years or something stupid like that.
But it's almost like Goodell can just make up the rules as he goes.
He can go to bed one night and wake up the next one.
Hey, let's try this out.
And nobody can do anything about it.
No, they can't.
That's really all we have in NFL news because we can't really, we don't have much more to talk
about probably until.
But in other six weeks or so until we can start talking about getting ready for training camp.
I did here within the next week.
I think HBO is going to name the team that they're going to do the hard knocks.
Nobody wants it though, but I heard something.
I thought I heard something where HBO is going to announce it within the next week or two.
Have you heard any because they offered it to Atlanta?
They said no.
They offered it to the Jets.
The Jets said no.
Now they already got a circus up there.
They don't need the cameras up there all the time either.
The Browns.
That would be more brown.
You have to have Richard Attenborough narrate that.
Good.
And the team still tries to take the field.
It is admirable that the effort they put forth knowing the utility that awaits them
in the following six months of their lives.
Hoping they praying that a team worth his weight in salt will offer them a contract
and get them out of the ninth level of Dante's inferno hill that they currently have to play in.
You have to show it on PBS because
5-11 here we go.
praying for enough wins that they can use all fingers on one hand.
The team approaches training camp with a sadness in their heart,
knowing that no one is even there to watch them.
Not even their families.
Not even their pets.
You're a beautiful audience.
I'm here all week.
God, that would be terrible, man.
You are listening to the Clubhouse.
Make sure you visit our website, www.theclubhousewithrobincoated.com.
Get you some swag.
We are, I promise, we are changing the URL very soon.
We're trying to get some things together.
Life's been a little busy the last couple of weeks for me,
but Richard showed me some great stuff that he wants to do with the website
that I think it's going to be awesome.
So be looking forward to that over the next few weeks.
Right now, let's do a little bit of TV talk.
Yeah, it has been a while.
A week since we did this segment.
Thank you, Brittany.
Yeah, you shouldn't have.
Well, it's good to know.
So the X Factor kicks off with Brittany Spears and Demi Lovato.
And then apparently, we get a story that comes out that Brittany has walked off the auditions
after a contestant butchers is the word I read, one of her songs.
Something about wrap your arms around me or something.
And the next four auditions, there's nobody there.
There's nobody in her chair.
She is denying the report, but here's my thing.
There's got to be video.
Yep, they filmed the auditions.
But you know how they're going to they'll edit it to make it look like she's still there.
Kind of like impact us to make it look like the crowd gives a crap.
And she's not even, she's like in her trailer and she's not sitting there.
No, they're going to superimpose her in her chair like.
Hologram with a two-pock.
Hologram, why not?
She's going to be two-pocked.
John, Don says this is week nine of no Game of Thrones talk because Chad can't catch up.
Only two episodes left in the season.
Oh, I can't wait.
Oh, my God.
I thought it was going to be this week.
There was going to do two episodes this week, but apparently they're going to space them out.
Which, oh, my God, I love that job.
I love that.
I watch that show religiously when you go back now,
they should just call that the Peter Dinklage hour.
Because when he's not on screen, I just, I almost don't care.
He is pretty brilliant.
His character, not only is he brilliant, his character is one of the most richly,
deeply well-written characters on television today.
George R. Morton, Martin, congratulations on that, sir.
I really like the way things are going.
I'm glad I haven't read the books.
Because I'm at a point of this is about to happen and I don't know where the hell we go from here.
Well, that's a, that's a thing though.
If you have read the books, you know pretty much.
But that's okay.
I'm glad I haven't read the books because I like having this sense of suspense.
I haven't read the books either, but I, you know, kind of like read synopsis of it.
So I can't have an idea what's going on.
But, um, but who knows, you know, I don't know how close to there.
You know, I haven't read the book, so I don't know how close to it.
People that I've talked to that have read the books that say this pretty solid, pretty solid.
Because they're doing the same thing they did with Trueblood, where each,
the one book is the season.
And I think there's five right now.
And, oh, man, that show is good.
And Don, I have not had chances to start watching 24 yet.
I need to get everything else caught up and then that is my next priority.
He actually gave me the borrow, of course, season eight of 24.
So I can go back and watch the last season because I missed the last eight hours.
I was very excited when he brought that to me on Sunday.
Because the clubhouse empire is awesome.
They are.
By the way, Britney Spears $15 million deal is only for this year.
That's not a bad payday.
Yeah, Jaila wants 20.
And now she's teetering again.
Maybe she's not going to come back.
You know what?
I don't care because I did not watch.
I think I watched the very first episode of Idol this year and then went, nah, I'm done.
I don't watch it, period.
I threw my hand up on all singing competition shows.
You know what?
I'm right there with you.
Chad and I were talking about this the other day.
I'm kind of, you know, he's still, he was talking about so you can think you can dance,
which my life's given up on.
But I, anything like of its ilk, don't care anymore.
Although I think I am going to try out for, don't forget the lyrics because they should just
call that give Rob $100,000 right now and save yourself a half an hour.
I'll like, I'll bet you Rob knows these songs.
Yeah, but with my, with my luck, I'd get down there and it'd be like GZ and it would be, you know,
one direction and I'd be like crap.
Speaking of American Idol, Philip Phillips wins American Idol.
Spoiler alert, I guess from a week ago.
But apparently we find out the entire season he's been having huge kidney stone
problems and he is having surgery now to fix that.
So congratulations to that kid.
Although their finale has the lowest finale rating ever for Idol in 11 seasons,
but still has the most viewers for an entertainment program since the Oscars at 21.5 million
people. And then allegedly they said another voting record, I just don't care.
It kind of hurt me not to watch this year, but I looked at the group of finalists and I was like,
I don't really care about it as people.
Like survivor, I barely made it through this year.
Survivor was pitiful this year.
The only one we really watch is we started watching Julie Kanga into it was the voice,
because I guess she just likes the idea where it's actually.
It's true talent because the blind auditions.
Exactly. It's a blind audition.
So you've got your back to them.
So you're actually judging their voice and how, you know, they're seeing qualities.
Whereas, whereas Idol, you know, you're looking at them.
So, you know, the girls kind of cute.
Well, okay, we'll turn through anyway, you know.
But you know, I like the concept of it.
I just, the Aguilar, it just wears me out.
I just, I just want to punch her on general principle.
Man, I would never hit a woman, don't get me wrong.
I would never raise my hand to a woman.
I just, she makes me want to kick something.
Remember last week we were talking about like, what happened to John Legend, where is he at?
He's on duets.
Yeah.
Did you watch that?
I couldn't, I couldn't bring myself to it.
I like the Clarkson.
Yeah.
I love John Legend.
The nettles I can take or leave.
Who's the fourth person?
Robin Thick.
Robin Thick.
And I was like, I was watching it.
And I was like, so you think you can dance.
I'd rather watch that instead.
I'll tell you what I will be watching.
It's not a, it's a summer show, but it's not a reality show.
Have you seen the commercials for the new HBO show newsroom?
Yes, I have.
Written by Aaron Sorkin.
And it's about a fledging cable network.
And it's got Sam Waterson in it.
I'm a Jack McCoy has a job.
Yes.
See, Sam Waterson's another one.
I could just watch him read the phone book.
Just because he's so awesome.
But the problem is no matter what he does.
And I know he's done stuff before that.
But he'll always be Jack McCoy to me.
Who's the use of lead again?
I can't think of a guy's name.
Is it Jeff Rich's?
Jeff Sump.
He was a dumb and dumb or with the.
Oh, the blonde here guy.
Jeff Daniel.
Jeff Daniel.
A lifetime apparently developing a series based on
a Clarice Starling when she first starts out at Langley.
Hello, Clarice.
Why?
Why?
Because this Hannibal series is going to suck anyway on NBC.
That's something you got to do like on HBO or showtime or something like that.
No, it's going to be on lifetime.
Oh, the end of...
No, are you talking about the...
Kind of like what Dick's doing out there.
Exactly.
No, the Hannibal series is going to be on NBC.
Why?
I don't know.
I wish I knew.
Maybe it's not called the newsroom.
I'm going to try and look it up on NBC on IMDB.
I don't know what the name of this show is.
It's Sunday, June 24th.
I found the page for it.
I'll wait for it to load.
It's going to take a minute.
Who sings this song?
This is Chris Allen from American Idol.
Who put in an interview this week he said he thinks Idol should be done.
He thinks it's kind of run its course.
And it's called the newsroom.
And then of course Taylor Hicks comes like and he's like,
no, I think it's great.
No, I don't think it's done because it's only
think it's good it's happened to you in your career.
Taylor Hicks.
And what have you done since?
Didn't he, isn't he doing, he's doing something soon with some...
Oh, he was on that, he's going to be on that celebrity dating show Foxus doing.
Oh, good for him.
Soul Patrol.
Good Lord.
Newsroom has John F. Carpenter, Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer,
Allison Pill, Sam Waterson, Dev Patel's in it.
The kid from Slumdog Millionaire.
I think Olivia Monson is this thing too.
So I'm looking forward to it.
Some very upsetting news to me earlier this week.
I don't really watch Sports Nation a lot but I do enjoy.
I think the Beatles got that geeky cute tour.
And so I always look to see what's the Beatles looking like today because I
catch the first couple of minutes of that after Dan Levitard.
And she said some in the other day.
I think honestly it was like Thursday.
She's like, you know, I've only got five shows left and I was like, what?
So I do a Google search on this thing.
Apparently she is after this coming week.
She is leaving ESPN to sign a contract with NBC Universal
to eventually take over Access Hollywood.
I don't know how I feel about this because I'm sure
it's hell not going to much Access Hollywood as much as I love the Beatles.
They had Clarissa Thompson on on Friday show, which I like her.
But I kind of like her on numbers never lie too.
So very upset about this.
Nothing her sports knowledge is great.
Even though she's a foreign stick graduate, we forgive her for that.
And she's a Jets fan.
So you know, that's a double whammy for John and I.
Because I can deal with the florist day thing but the Jets thing that's real.
I only watch like two shows on ESPN.
And that's part of the interruption.
I love PTI.
And the first take.
A fair shake.
Yeah.
I like Skip Bayless.
Then we have this announcement after eight years.
Skip Bayless is the bait of my resistance.
I despise him.
We have another biocon Dios for television this week.
Dog the bounty hunter off the air.
About time.
What took so long?
I don't know.
I guess A&E finally realized what a money hole that thing was turning into.
So the the whole Cogin of reality television.
It was like I think we did realize that Hogan and Brutus Abaribi cake
beefcake did have a love child and it's dog the bounty hunter.
So criminals beware.
I'm sure he's going to be working extra hard now to catch you.
Because he's not going to be getting that A&E money.
Don't make us money somehow.
We're in Hawaii.
Yeah.
We're a value mail.
We'll start it like nine bucks.
Isn't it true that like a big Mac in Hawaii is like $15 or something?
Because the price of living is so much higher because everything has to be brought in from the mainland.
Almost like everything you want to eat has the word pineapple in it.
What's the problem?
I love using pineapple.
Or spam.
Spam.
That's a mystery me, sir.
Did you hear that song by Weirdo Yankevich?
Here it comes.
Something about canned meats.
I don't know.
With jelly on it.
Meat does not have jelly.
Even in on that.
I don't know.
They actually have a karaoke version of that too.
Here you go.
It's so great.
I am in pork.
Is that what it supposed to be?
I don't know.

That go back to August of 2010.
Our fifth episode, I think,
was the first one that we did online.
So, took us a little while to work out the kinks on us.
Let's do a little bit of any chill news.
Last night, in overtime, Jersey beats the Rangers 3-2.
Thank you, New Jersey.
Did that want to see the Rangers go to the cup?
Oh my goodness.
So, the Stanley Cup finals are set.
It is East Coast versus West Coast.
The New Jersey Devils in Game 1 will host the lost Angelus Kings.
If I had told you six months ago that the Kings were going to be on the Stanley Cup finals this year.
Or even the Devils in East.
But the Devils are always feisty.
That's the thing about the Devils.
Nobody's cared about the Kings since Gretzky played there.
Since the Mullet coach there.
Oh my boy.
This is going to be a good final.
I believe this is going to be a great final.
I think so.
L-L-A has been playing great.
They knocked off in Cover.
The number one C.
They knocked off the number two C.
They knocked off the number three C.
And thank you NBC.
Not NBC Sports.
NBC for carrying the Stanley Cup finals.
I'll be watching.
I don't have to find out what used to be the outdoor life network.
I know.
Used to be versus.
That's right.
The outdoor life networks carries the Shawn Michaels.
Good.
Did you see that basket?
See, Boston jumps out early.
Philly is hanging in there.
Philly's a fighter.
We'll talk about that here in a minute.
But L.A. New Jersey starts on Wednesday at eight o'clock
Eastern on NBC.
Or if you are one of our friends to the North
and America's hat known as Canada.
We'll be on CBC.
Pix.
I got to go with the Kings.
How many?
Six out of those six.
How many over time?
Two.
Two.
Okay.
Brandon?
No.
Brothers don't like.
Brothers don't like hockey.
Oh, I'm watching the person.
Like if I'm if there is nothing like going to see hockey live.
Yeah, it's a lot better when you then watch the live.
I proposed to the lovely and talented Mrs. Irvin at hockey game.
But I cannot watch it on TV.
He's like soccer.
I can't.
It's hard for me to watch soccer live.
I'll go watch Phil's daughters play.
Because I'm supporting the kids and we do this for the kids.
But I can't.
I can't say that I don't know that I could because when we were kids,
we went to a four-law or no striker games like all the time, didn't we?
I know.
That was one of the very few things we had to watch in sports.
It was the four-law or no strikers at Lockhart Stadium.
That's pretty much all of us down in South Florida.
Except for the dolphins.
You know, if it wasn't football season, you didn't have anything to do sports wise.
That's why you had to adopt.
That's why I had to adopt the brakes.
That's why I had to adopt the bulls for a time.
That's why I had, you know,
we had no other teams to root for.
Now, I still will root for the bulls,
but I've been a heat guy since day one.
Yeah, that's why I'm a Celtics in the pre-gates.
There you go.
And a Cardinals fan.
A Cardinals fan now.
You talk about skits out.
Your Cardinals, sir.
We'll talk about them later, too.
But get geared up.
Wednesday Stanley Cup finals underway.
I am saying I want the Kings to win,
but I think the Devils take it in seven,
and I will say six of those games go past regulation.
Because just that's the way the NHL playoffs have gone this year.
We've had more over times,
and I think we've had in years.
Yeah, they're as well.
This year alone.
This is one of those if you,
if you work first shift,
don't watch hockey in the playoffs,
because you won't make it to work on time.
Or if you just have to stay up all night.
Because you'll get like 30 minutes to sleep.
So.
I'm looking forward to it.
I kind of, you know, once the Bruins got knocked out in the first round,
I kind of like took a second round off a little bit,
because it's kind of like looking my own.
Deacon pressing a little bit.
So then I started watching again a little bit.
But that's, that's the double edge sword that is the playoffs, though,
because if your team's into playoffs,
you want them to go as far as possible.
But at the same time when they lose,
you're just kind of like,
oh, my stress level just went down.
You know, it's like by heat are giving me
heart failure.
They really, really are.
We'll talk again.
We'll talk about, I want to get the heart before the horse.
Well, let's do a little PLI.
Person of interest is a segment we do on this show,
where we take a person or an entity.
And we debate their greatness or lack thereof.
The pendulum never moves right now,
because chat's working.
So by the way, we had to call Brandon at the last minute.
Thank you for being available, sir.
You're welcome.
John's here as well.
We always love it.
We have friends at the show on.
You know, we try to mix it up a little bit every week
so we get different voices in here.
And I think it makes the show better.
I just do.
I agree.
And I enjoy coming here.
I know it's a bit of a halt.
I hasn't been since now that I've got,
this is the first time you've come all the way across 190.
In it, or digits.
Yeah, so I took the turn.
Is that not the most wonderful thing ever?
It is.
I thought the nerve term,
I could never end those.
I'm only trying.
Especially once you get past like North Garland,
you're just like,
am I going to get to 30 soon?
Yeah, exactly.
Especially if you're like on a GPS.
Exactly.
Because when you're going over the lake,
there's just no road.
Are you going over blue before that?
You're going over nothing.
And like chat's Tom Tom.
His car is represented by the Millennium Falcon.
So it's just a Falcon flying over.
Hahaha.
Still took me good 40, 45 minutes to get here though.
Probably saved you 15 though.
Probably.
It's amazing.
But person of interest this week,
I've been catching up on my DVR today.
And John and I were kind of talking about this a little bit
in pre-show.
I'm kind of wondering,
I almost did the singing competition thing.
But then I went a different direction with it.
I want to talk this week
about
franchise television shows.
Because a couple of weeks ago,
we had to say Viacone Dios to CSI Miami.
I'm in the middle of the season finale right now
of CSI New York.
I'm caught up on CSI Vegas.
Of all the bajillions of law and orders,
SVU is the only one left.
And that's kind of limping.
You have NCIS LA, but I don't hear a lot about it.
The bones spin off, the finder,
I think made seven episodes, and they were done.
Have we reached the point where franchise television shows
are a thing of the past?
Pretty much.
I think so.
And if you're not there, it's getting close.
I believe they've come to the point
where they've exhausted all their topics.
I mean, I know we're getting a law and order.
I want to say it's
is it Russia's getting one in the fall?
I know that there's one in the UK right now,
but there's another international one coming.
And the UK,
it looks okay.
Oh, the commercial that's showing ABC right now
is the show that they're getting sued by CBS4.
We meant to talk about this in TV talk a couple of weeks ago,
but I haven't heard enough.
There is as a bunch of people that live in a house
it's called the glass house.
And basically it's Big Brother.
And CBS is suing the crap out of ABC about it right now.
They've kind of stopped us down because we were like,
what is this?
I just think that you don't have those loyal fan bases anymore.
I mean, a lot of people could argue the X-Factor versus American Idol.
But to me, that's too separate in these because it's two different styles of show.
To me, CSI was really the last bastion of that.
Because I always liked the way with CSI when they brought a new one on.
There was always that handoff show.
Like when Miami started,
Horatio was on an episode of Vegas that carried him into Miami.
And then when New York started,
Mac was on an episode of Miami that took it into New York.
But I just I don't think that we have that viability anymore.
With 90,000 channels, I don't know
that anybody really that you had that fan loyalty.
And DVR.
Yeah.
I mean, I've sat through what?
Seven hours of CSI in one form or another today.
But even with the DVR though, they've got the science now where that counts.
Oh, okay.
They used to call it the Tivo rating because Tivo was the only thing around back then.
But now, DVR, if you recorded, if you recorded it, it counts on the ratings.
But I just don't know that if we have that anymore.
And with, you know, you got the like the HBO shows, the King, the Game of Thrones,
you're all talking about, and you got those type of shows coming on now that just take
your attention away from what you do.
But again, it's because of the number of choices you have.
Yeah, that's true.
You know, you've got stars with their own original programming.
And then you've got Hulu is now doing their own original programming.
Showtime doing theirs.
Where HBO has been doing theirs for a while.
Yeah, I mean, I remember back in the day, HBO was the only network that had original programming.
And then right, probably right around the mid to late 90s,
was another other guy started to put their toe in the order, hey, maybe we can do this.
And so,
and it's not as raw as the ones on HBO, but not because of their own public.
And a lot of it in recent history, where HBO's had their success with Game of Thrones,
with, well, I won't say on so much, but Game of Thrones and True Blood,
is you have actual source material for that.
So it's not like you can go, hey, we're going to do a show just about the Lannisters,
or we're going to do is to show just about the Starks, because your fan base won't go nuts.
Yeah, but look at all the great shows that have come out of HBO too.
Except for that last episode.
Yeah, except I was so mad about that finale.
Curb your enthusiasm.
Never been a curb guy.
Well, that's pretty good.
But I guess because I wasn't a sign felt guy, that I'm not a curb guy.
I mean, I've seen clips in some of it's funny, but
the Ricky's your base stuff.
Extras, I thought was genius.
East Island down.
Oh, East Island down.
Love that finale.
Phil watched about half of the finale with me.
He'd never watch.
He's like, I got to go back and watch the rest of the show.
That's just you do.
Like you talk about just uncomfortable comedy.
I'm like, why am I laughing at this comedy?
That is Eastbounded Down.
Danny McBride is genius.
Jody Hill.
I got into it to the second I second season.
I didn't I haven't seen any of the first.
Oh, go back and watch the first season.
I'm going to trust me.
Oh, love that show.
I was very sad to see it go off there.
La flama blanca.
Oh, that show's so great.
That last episode versus that that breakup didn't count.
Yeah, sure.
And I don't I don't even want to ruin the ending of that last episode.
Because it's just so ludicrous that when it happens or just like.
It's just even will feels cameos.
Especially the last time he showed up.
You talk about uncomfortable comedy.
God bless Craig Robinson.
Yeah, Craig Robinson was awesome.
He's one of those guys that I don't like watching him try to do stand up.
But his comedic acting is amazing.
Like he's great on the office hot tub time machine.
He's great.
Because you know that those love line of hot tub time machine readers.
There must be some kind of any looks at the camera hot tub time machine.
That was him.
He did that.
That was not in the script.
And the whole subplot with Clark Clark, uh,
Clark Duke.
Him and Codry came up with that.
One of my favorite movies ever.
He was also great in Zach.
There's no such thing as free.
Are there Zach?
My name is bubble.
Just that look on his face.
Oh God bless you, sir.
But I just I really think that the day of the franchise series has come and gone.
I just.
Because really a lot of people are saying New York is on life support.
CSI.
I like CSI New York.
CSI Miami.
You saw you've seen that coming for two years because that show was bad.
The only reason I watched CSI Miami is for the humor of it.
It made me laugh.
And that could have been the problem, dude.
Like they're getting so serious on all of them.
People get tired of it.
But here's my thing.
It's Caruso.
This guy is not the Lawrence Olivier of this generation.
You knew what you were getting when you put David Caruso on the marquee.
You're going to get the head turn, pull off the glasses.
And that's his move.
It's been his move since NYPD Blue.
It will be his move until the end of ever.
That's the major reason why I never got into it.
That's his blue steel.
That is his blue steel.
Well played, sir.
And Don brings up Deadwood.
You talk about a show that was going away too soon.
That show was amazingly good.
And that show really introduced me to the Ole Fan.
I didn't really know who he was before Deadwood.
I think it's going to course you can't forget about the Boardwalk Empire.
We're so ready for season three.
So ready for season three.
Great show.
And see my thing with Boardwalk Empire was
I wasn't sure.
As I do, I want to watch this thing.
I love the Bishemi, but do I need another TV show?
And then I made the mistake.
I'll watch the first episode.
And if I don't like it, then I would.
You might have well just said,
Rob, you're committed to the show right now.
Because I watched that first episode and I was like,
that was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen.
That's what I was with the game to throw.
The show that pulled me in was the Walking Dead.
See, and I still have not watched an episode of that show.
And as geeky as I am,
I kind of feel like I have to go back and watch it for all the way from the beginning.
And I just don't have that kind of time.
They had a like a like they were showing all the way up to like season two or whatever.
And I was caught it.
I was like, I watch like every episode that Sunday,
that Saturday through Sunday, just so I can catch you there.
But I think I'm kind of zombieed out too.
And I think that's part of it.
I've never been a big zombie fan.
But that's the thing about this is like,
you barely see zombies.
You don't see as many zombies as you think you would.
Oh really?
They they're so character driven in this show that you see zombies every now and then.
I was even a fan of big love.
I like that show too.
I think my wife watched it for a little while.
This is the subject matter of that kind of turned me off.
Kind of creepy to me.
Yeah, but still the whole sister wives thing.
Just now.
I still like this.
I want to know how they were able to make that a reality show.
Because isn't that illegal?
Not in Utah, right?
I thought we were looking at like Utah Montana or something like that.
Not in Utah, because I learned that the hard way.
And it was illegal.
Oh, okay.
I learned that the hard way I saw was watching someone have a discussion with someone
who was of the Mormon faith.
Brought up the multiple wives thing.
And it was a girl that was a Mormon that he brought it up with.
And this is years ago.
And she was like,
Cowboys don't still carry guns.
I'm going to be over here.
Just I'm going to be right out of arms.
I'm not in this conversation.
Because it's about to go down.
And I don't want to be a witness.
I don't want to have to take the stand against you.
Like she like it almost got like.
Oh, it was just like awkward turtle to the end.
But that is POI.
We'll do another one next week.
So I guess we just kind of like had two POIs.
Franchise shows and HBO shows.
But is that really a debate?
Are our HBO shows really a debate?
No, not really.
They're awesome.
Let's do a little NBA news.
As there is right now,
five minutes and 17 seconds left in the second quarter of Philly, Boston.
It is Boston up by four.
This has this has been a great game to watch.
We've been kind of keeping our blind eye on it.
This has been a very physical game.
Just like we thought it would be between these two teams.
And Philly, a team we've talked about all year that we're just going.
How where did these guys come from?
And they held first place.
They fell off at the end,
but they put it back on during the playoffs.
The winner of this game gets what two days off.
Let's face it.
They got lucky too.
That Derek Rose got hurt too.
Although I say it wouldn't even be here.
No, yeah, they get one day off.
Yeah, they played.
I probably played tomorrow.
Eastern Conference finals start to Monday at 830 Eastern.
I don't know about.
I'll tell you what.
I still think your Western Conference finals
is going to be a better series,
regardless of who wins this game.
I think especially with the amount of rest
that both both Oklahoma City and San Antonio have gotten.
I think whoever comes out of the West is going to be your champion.
Do you hear your, was it Tony Parker?
That's let that loose the other day?
That Westbrook is the head of the Oklahoma City snake.
I'm telling you,
that series is going to be nasty
because you've got the wily veterans.
That they're going to get on the court with these young whipper snappers.
Yeah, I'm upstart.
And it's about to go down.
But the wildest veterans have home court advantage.
Yes, they do.
Man, they're good.
What are they want?
18 straight now?
My thing is, they hit that hot street
and there's a cold street coming.
And that's the other side of the rest coin.
Do they have too much time off?
Have they cooled off?
They've been like a week.
Yeah, I don't know.
Since the last Saturday they played,
that's less than they played.
Something like that.
And Oklahoma's the only, they haven't had that
world to see with Monday.
Or something like that.
They'll play tomorrow night at 830 Easter.
Game one.
Yeah, I think they had too much time off.
But like you said, they're wild.
They're the veterans.
And they got a young, young guys coming off the bench.
You can play who want to play, who want to win.
A lot of your Yahoo Sports experts.
Four out of five are picking San Antonio in either six or seven.
And one guy named Ball don't lie.
Has Oklahoma City in seven.
I don't know if I can pick this.
Game one tomorrow, game two Tuesday,
game three Thursday, game four Sunday.
Yeah, San Antonio's had a week off.
They dispatched the Clippers last Sunday.
And this is all TNT.
Yes, because I'd rather hear Charles and I believe
that this series will not be terrible.
This series will be wonderful to watch.
These are two great teams.
One, I played, you know, I used to play with
Manu Genobli when we was in the Olympics,
even though we're in different countries.
We still play together.
Then you got, then you got the other.
Oh, yeah, I'll be waiting to check.
Wouldn't you like to hear Charles Barclay and Muhammad Ali talk to each other?
Well, he doesn't kind of sound like Ali on helium, doesn't he?
It's terrible.
It's terrible.
I believe...
Did you enjoy watching them, though?
Oh, yeah, did you see the pit the other day where him and Shaq took their shirts off?
Oh, the shirt off?
The shirt off?
And Shaq had the airbrushed abs off.
It was funny.
It was funny.
But I don't know how to pick this series
in a Western comments.
I would like to see
in the finals San Antonio versus Miami.
And Miami win it because the first time LeBron played in the finals was against
the Spurs and they got swept.
And then they beat LeBron would be one in one against Texas teams in the finals.
Yes, and then he would, because when he lost to the San Antonio Spurs,
Tim Duncan told you, thank you for letting us have this one because you're going to own the NBA after that.
So for Tim Duncan, for him to beat Tim Duncan, we...
I still think Oklahoma City wins this thing.
I don't know why.
Maybe it's because I picked him all year and I'm afraid to go against my pick now.
Because I said they will own the Western comments for the next five years.
But it's going seven.
There's no doubt in my mind.
This series is going seven and it's going to be in all out just...
I'm looking forward to it.
Yeah, and I saw an interview with Kevin Durant.
I think yesterday.
And it's 2-2-1-1.
And he said there was a guy Michael Jordan once told him that
all the reason I go out and play hard every day is because there might be somebody in the arena watching
and that was all you playing person.
You have to show them that you're for real.
And I was like, yeah, Kevin Durant does show everybody's for real.
Every time he gets out there, closing in the fourth quarter.
And he has really come into his own.
He really, really...
I still don't think they should have retired his number at Texas and played their one year.
But this has been...
And then, you know what, even for an abbreviated season,
this has been the best year for NBA playoffs in probably four or five.
Yeah.
Because even though my...
Even though my heat were in the finals last year.
Oh, Kevin Garnett.
Just dunk the ball.
You're nine feet tall.
I just...
I didn't have the emotional investment that I should have had last year.
Well, especially once...
Well, I said, I give him the first year as a mulligan.
But I do wonder where all the...
Matt, he...
Are there...
They're silent.
They're folks of the Rangers now.
They're Ben Wagon's pretty four right now that Ranger Ben Wagon, so...
Oh, it's huge.
They've had to get a new...
They've had to get a new wagon.
Extension.
He has put an extension on it.
Yeah, well, Miami...
I mean, they're even without...
Bosch.
Well, that concern...
I didn't realize he made that much of a difference.
But just to see LeBron and D-Wade and the role player step up the way they have is...
I thought they were going to lose that last year.
See?
Honestly, dude.
I'm glad they beat him, you have enough.
For Miami to win, I think you got to see LeBron how he was with Cleveland.
He's just got to be, you know,
how he was with Cleveland when he was basically a one-man team.
You have 30 points.
Now he's got a better team around him.
And if he just goes out and gets 30-35 points a night,
and D-Wade can put up, you know, 20-25 or something like that, I think they'll be fine.
Yeah.
Well, they said...
I mean, I was actually in corner of the day.
At once, Bosch, Miami goes...
LeBron and Wade are going to have to score 60 points for them to win.
They went out and scored 70 and beat the TAR.
And I mean, beat the TAR.
That was a physical series.
That was an old Eastern Conference series right there.
Blood and broken collarbones.
Yeah, I was like old Celtics and pistons.
Mixing bulls, mixin' bulls, mixin' heat.
And I'm like, you talk about laying a smack down on somebody.
I was watching the last game on Yahoo because I was like,
I can't watch this if it worked because I'm at work.
And I just put up the box guard on Yahoo and I was like,
Game Six was just like, that gap just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
I was like, they're not winning the next game.
The heat, they've got, they're now, they're now in the Pacer's heads.
And that whole thing with Udonis Haslam,
if you don't think that was on purpose, you need to be drug tested.
Because LeBron's hard to tell the story the other day and I didn't know about this.
We all know that Udonis Haslam gave up a lot of his own contract money to get LeBron there.
Apparently, his mother at the time was nearing the end of her life.
And he was talking to her on the phone and he just said,
what do you need mama? She goes, I need you to stay in Miami.
And so he stayed in Miami.
She passed away shortly thereafter.
At her funeral, as the funeral was starting,
in walks Pat Riley, Duane Wade, and LeBron James.
And Levittar said it was one of the most emotional things I've ever seen ever.
He goes, Udonis Haslam has now, this is now his family.
So, do I think it was on purpose? You bet your belief, I think it was on purpose.
Of course it was.
And also, former Gator great.
And I just, wow, just, Udonis, if he's on, he's on.
But the problem with Udonis is if he's a little bit off, he's off.
Yeah.
Now, that suspension was only for one game though, right?
It was.
But I thought Tyler Hansbroe should have been suspended.
See, I agree.
If you don't suspend one, I'm basically saying foul on both hands of the court.
So, I guess that other kid for Indiana, with a Steven center, something like that,
I don't think he's ever going to open his mouth again.
And he'll definitely never show a choke side again.
Did you see, who was it that hit him though?
It was Bittman.
Bittman, did you see when they put the camera on Pettman?
You winked at him.
That's got the three games right there.
If you're going to, oh, my God, I'm sorry.
There was just a dump that Billy just did that, that, that, that would stop down the whole show.
The new AI.
Now, I'm telling you, if you're going to run your mouth, you'd better be ready,
especially against this team.
Exactly.
As much as I love my beloved heat, we do take things a little more personally than maybe we should
sometimes, but I mean, they're scrappy.
Yeah, but I think last year's finals.
They got beat up so bad in the last year's finals that they like, hey, we can't take that anymore.
The Mares played way, you never thought you'd see that.
The Mares played way more physical than another team.
And the whole thing with, you know, with LeBron, he's like, whether we do it right or wrong,
it's still going to be my fault.
You know, if you forget to get milk at the grocery store, it's probably my fault.
You know, and he's right.
And that's another reason I want them to just go ahead and win this one.
Get all the talk out of the way.
And can we play basketball again?
That's just let him get his ring and let's move on.
Yeah, that's the reason, that's the only reason people don't like the heat because of LeBron's
on the team and they don't want him to win this round.
Yeah, exactly.
They don't want to see LeBron.
It's the A-Rod syndrome.
Yeah.
And people out here don't like the weight, you know, especially from 06.
Because you beat up on them so bad.
That was such a great day for me.
Oh, that was such a great day.
Because you know me, I'm not a guy who talks trash.
I don't believe in it.
It creates bad karma.
I have nothing to do with the outcome of a game.
So don't talk trash to me.
I heard so much crap from Maverick fans for a month leading up to that 06 series.
I'm like, guys, how many times have you been here?
Just making sure that we're clear on this page.
And then after that game six, I'm
playing parade and look what happens.
Well, they had their parade last year or so.
Yeah, but they didn't play that after game two.
That's all I'm saying.
But again, great playoffs right now.
We have just under a minute left in the second quarter and Boston up by seven.
Does anybody broke 40 yet?
It is 3932.
Let us move on.
Do a little bit of movie news right here on the clubhouse.

Hello.
And for the second weekend road joining us is Brandon.

Speak of the devil.
There she is.
So she survived graduation day.
That's good to know.
And also you can follow Chad at Chad NPG69 on Twitter.
Let's do box office numbers.
As we like to tell you on this show,
we don't talk about last weekend's box office numbers
because those numbers are old.
But let's talk about who we talked about last night's box office numbers.
Dropping out of the top 10 this week,
the pirates band of misfits and the lucky one.
So Chad's happy about that.
Number 10 last night pulling in $390,000 for a 36 day total of $87.3 million.
Dropping to number 10 is Steve Harvey's think like a man.
But it made $87 million bucks.
So it's $11 million to make.
Yep.
Not too shabby.
Number nine, number nine, $590,000 for a 64 day total of $393.6 million for
Sharla's beloved Hunger Games.
And Sharla, you will be happy to know that my wife is now reading the books.
She has finally decided to give into the hype.
She's about two thirds of the way through the first book.
And I asked her, I'm like, oh, I think she's like, yeah, they're actually pretty good.
So the lovely and talented Mrs. Erwin is happy with that.
Did you see the movie?
I have not seen the movie, I'm going to wait until I read the book.
Because I still haven't seen the girl with the dragon tattoo.
And that's just, that's a felony in my book.
For someone who hasn't read the books, I saw the movie and I thought it was good.
I liked it.
But I'm told, though, if I read the books, then the movies could even be even better.
It's one of those very few, few instances.
Yeah, Julie did say that the movie was right right there with the book, too.
But did she feel that she had a better understanding of the movie by having read the book?
Because that's what I'm hearing a lot of.
If you read the book, you have a better understanding of some of the things that are going on in the movie.
I would say so because there are some things I wasn't really totally 100% understanding.
But Julie seemed pretty much know everything I was going on.
But it was still a good movie, though.
Number eight, making $1.7 million on Friday for a 22-day total
of $11.9 million for the best exotic Marigold hotel.
I was watching the soup today.
And apparently, Dev Patel, who is in a slum dog millionaire, who is also in this,
is doing an interview on Good Day New York.
And one of the hosts, Greg, whatever his name is, who's just a debauch to begin with.
Like, spoil is one of the biggest plot points in the whole film in the interview.
So after this, because I had to leave, like, you know, half an hour in.
So when this happened, what happened next?
And I was like, okay, so there's that.
Number seven, making $2.0 million on Friday for a 15-day total of $57.5 million
for the Tim Burton vehicle dark shadows.
Balling quickly.
Number six, making $2.2 million for an eight-day total of $17.2 million for the chick flick,
what to expect when you're expecting.
That should not have anything to do with you having a movie prenup in your relationship.
Number five, $2.8 million on Friday for a 10-day total of $34.6 million for the dictator.
There's just nothing about this movie that makes me want to see it. Nothing at all.
I'm up in the air. Still about that one.
Raven?
I don't know. It looks funny on the previews. You would know how they throw the
the best parts, the funniest parts in the previews sometimes.
That's almost every Sasha bear is going to be.
Coming in fourth, making $3 million on Friday for an eight-day total of $36.5 million
for battleship. Did you see this interview that director Peter Berg did with an Israeli television
station? Has anybody seen this? I have not. No. He goes into this tirade about how
Israel has to invade Iran right now because they're about to have nukes.
And yeah, you're going to lose Israeli lives. Wouldn't you rather defeat them now before
they have the nukes and they're going to threaten the entire planet?
And in Israel, it's the law. As a male, you have to enlist for, I think, for two years or something
in the army. And he's like, you know, it's just something that has to be done, you know,
like in this movie battleship, which I directed, which is a great time, and I'm looking forward
to everybody. Like, he completely segwayed from this tirade on Israel and Iran into plugging the
movie. Wow. And then goes back to, he says to this young reporter, he's like, have you served?
And the guy's like, no. He's like, so are you like a draft Dodger? You got to sign up for the
for the army, MFR? Wow. And what we find out later is the reason the guy hadn't was because he
had like a health problem and he couldn't serve me. I mean, go, I gotta be on YouTube. Go look
up this interview because you're just sitting there like, what is he even talking about? And then
he segways writing to plug into the movie. Like, it was just completely planned that way. It was so
weird. I played it for Chad the other day and he just started laughing. He's like, are you kidding me?
I'm trying to get you the, the, I'm going to look up the budget for battlefield or battleship.
Battle of the second battlefield earth probably just as bad.
$209 million is what that movie cost. And at this point, it's made 36. Wow. And that's just
the budget. I don't think that includes marketing and everything else. A friend of mine was on
Twitter the entire time she was watching the movie, giving play by play. Oh, and by the end of the
movie, she was just like talking about the food she was eating was the sci-fi ripoff of it.
It's like American warships or something. And it had Mario Van Peoples. I'm like, there's
more old Van Peoples. Where is he been? I know now. You mean Lauren's Alamos, wasn't it? He might
have been just a clip. I saw the soup had him. Number three, making $3.54 million on its opening
day is Warner Brothers Pictures The Chernobyl Diaries, which looks like the feel good movie of the year.
Number two, it's finally fallen. The number two, only making $9.7 million on Friday
for a 22-day total of $486.4 million. That's domestic. That's not worldwide. That's domestic.
For the Avengers. Currently showing in just under 4,000 theaters. I'm trying to see if I can get a
full, full gross on this. The foreign, foreign totals right now. Oh, it's not giving me a total.
But I mean, it's well over. It's well over. Yeah, 723 million worldwide. So it's passed the 1.1 billion mark.
And number one, debuting last night with $18 million, respectable for men in Black 3. Getting decent
reviews. I just don't know if I want to see this thing. I just don't know. I don't know. I thought
about sneaking off and watching it earlier today, but I had to watch my car. I think I like the
premise. I kind of like the premise. And from what I've seen, I would see it just for Josh, Josh
Probe. Oh, his family Jones is dead. Apparently his wife is just sick of hearing it. He's buried
to the very hot dying lane. And apparently he's doing this at home all the time. It's just like,
would you just shut up? I remember watching the first trailer and then he did it and I was like,
oh my god, it's like, congratulations. Kira Knightley. She's engaged to the Clarkson's
keyboardist James right. So there's that. We have been hearing about Lindsey Lohan
playing Elizabeth Taylor in a movie called Listen Dick about her and Richard Burton. Shut up,
Charlotte. We now have Richard Burton. He will be played by a Grant Bowler who played
cooter on Trueblood. He also played Wilhelmina's love interest on Ugly Betty. So there's that.
Also found out this week that John Favreau is going to return as Tony Stark's assistant happy
Hogan and Iron Man 3, but that's it. He is not directing. He is acting only, which I don't
is that going to be awkward? I haven't somebody else come in doing the. Yeah,
who's directing it? Hold on, I can tell you. It's shooting right now in North Carolina. Yes, it is.
Guy Pierce isn't this thing? When did that happen? Directed by Shane Black. He was also writing the
screenplay. Shane Black, you might. Oh boy. Already in. Guy wrote Lisa Weapon 2. I mean,
it doesn't matter. I mean, he also wrote Lisa Weapon 3 and Lisa Weapon 4. What?
I almost say what?
Lisa Weapon 5 has been announced. As of February?
Melandani? If there's nobody listed, it just says Lisa Weapon 5 has been announced.
Chris Rock. How many times do I have to kill somebody? Joe Pesci.
But yeah, Shane Black am in.
GI Joe retaliation has been pushed back to March 29th of 2013 because they are converting it into 3D.
I saw the trailer for this thing and it does nothing for me. I really enjoyed the first film.
I enjoyed the rise of Cobra. The only thing that made me go in the trailer was seeing Cobra
Commander in the Mask. Bruce Willis just puts a stink on anything he does anymore and why we
needed him in this thing is beyond me. Just go do die hard 74 and it will be fine.
You do hear Blondie in the background. There is a movie coming out about the famous New York
punk club CBGBs which closed just a couple of years ago. Meland Ackerman may remember her from
Watchman. I believe she's also in that what to expect when you're expecting. She is going to play
Debbie Harry. Also, Alan Rickman is going to play the club owner, Hilly Crystal, and Rupert Grinth
from the Harry Potter movies is going to play Dead Boy's guitarist Cheetah Crome. I just hope
this is in this bad as 54 because 54 was terrible. That was a horrible film.
As we talked about earlier in the show, one week from tomorrow, June the 3rd will be the MTV
Movie Awards. They will be showing brand new footage from the Dark Knight Rises.
How long is that movie going to be? I think it's like three and a half. I mean it's going to be
long. But I'm worried. I'm really worried about this movie. We haven't seen enough footage
to show me what exactly this thing is going to be doing. The Avengers has set the bar so high.
I don't know that this is going to live up. I'm genuinely worried about the Dark Knight Rises.
Amazing Spider-Man. I'm kind of okay with it. I'm going to go see him because it looks really good.
But Dark Knight Rises concerns me. So you think the last one was going to be way better than
your expectation or set too high since the last movie? I don't know if it's because I think the
Avengers set my bar too high. I think that's the problem. That Avengers was so good. That I'm
just like anything. I just don't know that no one's going to be able to live up to it. And the
first two Batman movies were so good. I think he's trying to cram too much into this one. I say
I've ever seen the new poster. It's Catwoman's heel breaking a battering in half.
Okay. I just I don't know. And something looks weird about the suit this time. They did something
different to the suit and it makes him look too skinny. Maybe it's because he takes the cape off
or someone the cape just adds more to it. I don't know. But I'm just I'm worried. As a Batman
fanatic, I'm worried genuinely. Just enjoy it. Just go and enjoy it. I'm going to go. Don't
get me wrong. This this may be a midnight showing for me too. Is it going to make the Avenger
money? Probably not. Oh, there's no way. No way. But I'm sure we'll still do a good 250 maybe
even 300 million. And maybe no one just knew this was the time to end it. Maybe you know.
And speaking of things, I don't know how I feel about
as the entertainment industry is now pilfering a great piece of my childhood.
A Christmas story is going to Broadway. They're making it into a musical. It will be on Broadway
from November the 6th until December the 30th. I'll be honest with you. I'm not surprised.
And I guess I'm not surprised at that sooner. I was going to say that it does not surprise you in
general or just that it took this long. Both. This is a piece of my childhood. I don't need to hear
you shoot your eye. I don't need that. I want to go ahead of the Asian singing.
Farah. Oh, okay. I may have just changed my mind. That's for sure.
Yes. I just don't know how I feel about this because I watch that movie every year. It is one of my
it's one of my Christmas traditions every year as I have to watch a Christmas story. And not on
TBS. I have it on Blu-ray and I watch it that way because I don't want commercials interrupting
the greatness of a Christmas story. Yes. I just I'm sure it'll do better than the Larry Bird
Magic Johnson musical. That lasted 10 performances. I swear that actually happened. This is this was
really a thing. Google it. This was really this was really a thing. And I think what may have
killed it is they never did a song that went. Oh, Larry. You want to title all me. Yes. Yeah.
He probably saw that win. Oh, Broadway now people won't come see the show.
I can't. I am. We're done. We're done. Now I need to hear like Larry Bird,
Magic Johnson, Muhammad Ali and Charles Barker. Oh, it's terrible.
You know, somewhere Frank Caliando is going, I could have done this.
I just I don't know. Also, I thought trailer today for a movie called Dark Blood that is
getting released. This was the last movie River Phoenix did before he died. It was three weeks
from completion 20 years ago. They finally got the funding to finish it. It's creepy. It's about
a couple. She she is. Oh, Judy Davis. I can't remember who the the male is. And they get lost
in the middle of nowhere. And River Phoenix is like this loner that lives in the middle of the
desert and starts playing mind games with them. Like it's creepy.
Oh, and I saw the trailer. It's like 20 years ago that finally got it done.
It's hard for me to believe it's been 20 years since he died. Wow, it is. Wow, 20 years. Yeah.
They finished the movie 20 years later. Yeah. They had to get private funding because they were
three weeks from finishing it when he died. Speaking of any of our trees,
original Star Wars just had to 35. Yes, yesterday. Yes. Happy 35th anniversary to episode four.
May 25th, 1977. I like I said on Facebook, I remember the theater I saw it in. I
were still living in Iowa. And it was one of those one screen theaters that had a balcony
and everything. It was like totally old school. And it was awesome. I remember when I was wearing
I can't cut that far. I can't. I was it was just like a couple of months before my fifth birthday
and my mom and dad, they took me there. And I just remember just like, oh my god, this is the best
movie I have ever seen my entire life. And to this day, it could be still.
You know, sitting there and next thing, you know, you hear a gunshot and John Wilkes boost jumps
down. Wow. No, that's the first time Chad saw. That's not.
Yeah, man. Oh, that old. Come on. He's going to hear this on on archive and go.
Shaking his fists in the air. It was the old movies at Pompano.
Oh, wow. The UA right there on federal. Yep. When I worked for UA, we went there and saw
porn before the children. Right there where the copen's in federal, wasn't it? Yes.
Yes, that's where I saw it. That's it's a different theater now. It's a much bigger theater.
Yes. It's part of a strip mall now if I remember correctly. So there's that new movies coming
out this coming Friday, June the first, first and foremost, Snow White and the Huntsman.
The second Snow White movie to be released this year. Looks a little creepy for me.
I might see that. Got the show because it's got the sharpest theater on in it.
Yes. And it's such your grandparents Snow White. That it definitely is not, sir.
No, it's not the Disney. It's not the Disney version.
Currently no rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But Christmas tour at Chris Helmsworth,
Charlize Theron, Vigo Mortensen in this thing. I know Vigo isn't there. He's in there too, huh?
You also got piranha 3, double D. See what they did there. That's exactly what they're calling this thing.
It's really high. We actually watched that one night like on showtime or something like that.
And we were like laughing at home. Hasselhoff's in this one in the Baywatch gear.
Oh, then she'll definitely be there. It's just she loves the hoff.
Then there's this movie called High School. And the word high is in bold, of course.
Here's the here is the summary of this. Brought to you from official site,
the Rotten Tomatoes. The day after soon to be valedictorian Henry Burke played by Matt Busch
takes a hit of the chronic for the first time. This is an exact quote. His high school principal
played by the great Michael Chickles. Okay, I'm on the fence now. Institutes a zero tolerance drug
policy and administers a mandatory drug test for all students. Henry has two options.
Fail and lose his college scholarship or team up with his stoner friend bro, B-R-E-A-U-X.
Ellie's French played by Sean Marquette to beat the system. They steal a high-powered
ganja from law student turned drug dealer psycho ed played by Adrian Brody and spiked the
school's bake sale brownies giving the entire school faculty included completely stoned out
of their minds. But with the student body getting higher and higher with every brownie and a
hacked off psycho ed on their tails for stealing a stash, they must find a way to keep their half-baked
plan. See what they did there from going up and smoke. See what they did there?
I'm like, are you kidding me? This has got Adrian Brody and the chick list in it.
Also starting next Friday apartment 143. I've seen some trailers for this thing. This is like
paranormal activity pretty much.
Moving on for greater glory starring Andy Garcia. This is a this is a Christian film.
So there's that. And battlefield America starts this coming Friday, starring Marquez Houston,
Mejia Cox or Mechia Cox. Christopher Michael Jones and the Lynn Whitfield.
No, thank you. You know what this is? This is another installment in the you got served franchise.
But they're calling it battlefield America. A steady look at the underbelly of the youth dance
culture in Long Beach, California. No, thank you. Because there's a seedy underbelly.
Marquez Houston. There used to be an IMX or something if it's ill.
The immature. Which became IMX, right?
Let's oh DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week. Man on a ledge.
So there's that. Corio on it. Corio on this. This is a war movie. World War II.
Looks pretty good. I saw commercial sport. Goon already on DVD and Blu-ray. The Sean William Scott
Hockey movie. And WWE Extreme Rules. If you want to sit through that.
I'll speak in the book. But speaking of Blu-ray and DVD releases, I saw for the first time
redtails. How did that work out for you? I like it. Really? I like to see it. It was good.
Yeah, it was good. Yeah, I'm in, you know, even with George Lucas's name.
Yeah, I'm I'm into like, you know, period like, you know, war war two movies and stuff like that.
And it was it was good. Did you hear that George Lucas story this week?
I did not. Okay, let's go back to George Lucas music for this. We're going to cover this number
going to move on. George Lucas, of course, he has the ranch has all that that that land out in
Marin County. He's been wanting to build a movie studio there for years. But his HOA
has been like, no, we don't want that. Very, very snobby. You know, excuse me, Muffin. I just
don't think we need George. Wait a minute. George lives in the neighborhood that has an HOA.
Apparently he does. Okay. So this week, oh, wait for it. Because we've we've made our fair share
of debat comments about George Lucas over the years. Make no mistake. And Chad didn't know this
till we heard about another podcast. And I knew what was coming. So I didn't say anything.
George Lucas announces, I think it was last week. Well, since I'm not going to be able to build my
movie studio that I want to build, I'm going to take about half of my land. And I'm going to build
affordable housing for low income families. Oh, I was like, yes. Wow. So now you think the HOA is
going probably should have let him build a movie studio. Yeah, you can have that movie studio now.
He's building and it's going to be all affordable housing for low income families and seniors on
fixed incomes. Like section 8. Because on one hand, you're like, that's just awesome that he's
doing something humanitarian, but he's doing it. But we all know why he's doing it. He's doing it
the piss. No, yeah. There's a finger involved there. I heard that and I have laughed. I was like
Lucas, you genius. Well, speaking of George too, if you want to always have a good laugh,
is come over to our house with Julie and watch like when what's it spike does,
there are Star Wars marathons and all the scenes that he throws in there, you know, from the
original. Just a just just a just a stuff that comes out of her mouth. It's like just that's come.
Yeah, your lady friend is very hyper critical. Oh, God. She is, she is not a man, especially being
the the star trek person that she is because I am a firm belief. If you made her choose, she's
choosing Star Trek. Yeah. I don't know. There's no she's she's like me that we do give equal love
to both franchises, but we are completely opposite. If you held a gun to our head, I'm going Lucas
and she's going Rod and Barry. Of course. It's just the way she's always been.
By the way, speaking of Star Trek, Nemo says he is not in the sequel. He is not going to be in the
sequel now. He was before, but he's not now. He said that it's incapable hands. I'm good with it.
I don't have to do it anymore. So he has faith in Zachary Clinton.
He has faith in the faith in JJ Abrams. I can't wait. Oh, I can't wait. But let's move on.
You are listening to the clubhouse live each and every Saturday night right here on UStream.
Let's get into the sports and entertainment part of this and do a little bit of wrestling talk.
So tonight we talked about ICP earlier, the Insane Clown Posse.
Earlier, we talked about them, but tonight they are having their Juggalo Championship Wrestling event.
Let me say that again for those of you in the cheap seats. Juggalo Championship Wrestling.
And they will be featuring the JWO
made up of Hall, Nash, and Waltman all together. Hall will not be wrestling. It will be
Why am I going to feel that there's going to be YouTube footage tomorrow and it's not going to be
pretty. But they will be taking on the headbangers if you remember Mosh and Thrasher.
So there's that. If you are somewhere where Juggalo Championship Wrestling is going to be held
tonight, go see that unless it's already happened. Also, WWE considering bringing back the cruiserweight
division on board with this, always great. This is going to tie into something we're going to talk
about in a minute. Have you heard this Jericho story? This is weird. WWE on Thursday is in
Sao Paulo, Brazil doing a show. Jericho is wrestling CM Punk. CM Punk comes to the ring.
Somebody in the crowd throws him a Brazilian flag. Punk waves it around for a little bit and
lays it out in the ring. Jericho comes to the ring and ad lives a little bit and kicks the Brazilian
flag. Normal heel maneuver. Small problem. It is a federal offense in Brazil to desicrate the
flag in any way, shape or form. Cops get involved. He has to come out and make an apology. I love
performing here. Suspended for 30 days from the company because he could have gone to jail.
The Miz took his place and Daniel Bryan will also be taking his place on some of the other
offends down there. Very weird situation. The company had to come out and go look. This was not
part of the plan. He ad lib this and he had to come out and say this is not what I was intending.
It got real tense there for probably five or six hours. When you go to another country study
the culture because this is the first time they've gone to Brazil. If you go to Brazil,
don't touch the flag. Leave it alone. Once you're hanging it up somewhere.
But they said he was indefinitely suspended last night. Last night, they announced it would be 30 days.
Don asked us a great question. What's the difference between this and when HBK put the Canadian flag
up his nose when he was wrestling bread. The difference is in Canada. It's not a federal offense
to do that. In Brazil, it's a law. Which I'm not saying that makes it right because it doesn't.
You leave a country's flag alone. That is the symbol of that country. A lot of countries are
some prouder than others have said flag. Just leave it be. That's why I don't like when they do
like flag matches. Leave them be. Just leave them be. Be proud of your country, represent your
country. But don't do it at the expense of somebody else's. I don't care if this isn't the
Cold War. Rock is claiming he will return early in 2013. He's got two more movies to film and
then he is coming back. He's not saying anything more than that. He'll be back in early 2013.
So get ready for the rumble. Let's talk a little bit about Raw. Over the limit happens Sunday night.
We can move on. But at the end of the end of over the limit, the fired Frenchy brings John
Lord on his to the ring. Axel, he's going to feed him to Cena. Cena puts them up for the attitude
adjustment and gets knocked out. Don, thank you for that, sir. He's agreeing with me about
the incidents that you just leave the flags alone. So we know the stipulation for the match was
if any current WWE superstar interferes in the match Sunday night, then not only are they fired
but Laurenitis is fired. Well, he fired Frenchy the week before. So Jackass Laurenitis comes out
Monday night and I'm watching Raw and it's one o'clock in the morning. So I'm kind of like I'm
suffering through this because I know in two months I'm going to have to do this for a three-hour raw
every week. And he says thanks to the superstar that I signed on Saturday night and I went,
whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. You signed him on Saturday night,
which means he was under contract on Sunday night, which means by technical definition,
you should be fired. Apparently again, Laurenitis screwed up on the microphone and they went into
spin control where Cole had to say like four or five times. No, the contract was actually finalized
this morning, early breakfast time. I heard Cole saying that about that, but I didn't catch
Laurenitis saying they signed on Saturday night and catch that. Yeah, but I was just like, are you
kidding me? Really? Get this guy off my television. Get a microphone out from in front of his face
because he can't, he has proven time and time and time again that he cannot do this.
Anybody see Shameless's new shirt?
Love it. Broke kit cooligans. Love it. Probably the best shirt he's had so far.
And now it's time on the show when we do a little thing I like to call Memo to Michael Cole.
Because I, as much as I can't stand Michael Cole, I really have tried to take him under my wing
and help him out because that brother needs help. Let's be honest.
I know we're getting ready for the 1,000th episode of RAW coming up on July 23rd,
which would be the first of the weekly three hour RAWs, so be prepared for that.
But Cole said something that I thought was kind of funny. He says the following.
We've been on the air and after almost 20 years live every single Monday night.
I got one word for you, Cole. London.
Jack hole. You're not live when you're overseas. You're on a six hour take-away.
Live every week. If you were live in London, we'd be watching it lunchtime. Dumbo.
But you know what? King has been saying in interviews recently how easy it is to work with him.
I'm like, yeah, maybe easy to work with him, but it's showing easy for me to listen to his dumb bud.
And apparently Lord Ten-Sai is now just Ten-Sai. I don't know if maybe he has to apply for
the reinstatement of his Lordship. I don't know how that works, but now he is just Ten-Sai.
Which makes me... He's always Albert. He's not like a radio brand. I just say,
get your brand new Ten-Sai with HD Radio. It sounds like one of those TVs that are on sale at
Walmart at Christmas time. We got to put these six inch Ten-Sai right here for you for $99.
It will make it to Christmas. We can guarantee you that. Beyond that, we make no promises.
He's still Albert to me, though. Yeah, he always will be. He's Albert. But I still think he's missing
his calling that he should be the spokesman for Genghis Grill.
And might prove me wrong. He should be the spokesman for Genghis Grill.
Oh, God, I love Genghis Grill too. Do you see what they're doing now? Two for 20?
Two single bowl entrees, two drinks, and a dessert to split for 20 bucks?
Yes, sir. I will be taking advantage of that very, very soon. Thank you very much.
And why is there not one of those in lost cleaners?
Makes me mad. I need a Genghis Grill in lost cleaners. Get on that Genghis Grill.
And if you want to sponsor this show, rob at the clubhouse of robincoady.com. It's all I'm saying.
Speaking of which, I am thankful for the one in debt and no greatness. Speaking of which,
I got a text message last night about something that we talked about on this show last week in P.O.I.
Brandon has now extoled the greatness of Mio. Yes.
And is it not the greatest thing you've ever had in your life? What flavor would you have?
I have black cherry and I have another red one. Oh, that was a strawberry watermelon?
No, it was fruit punch. I have a fruit punch. So they have a red now?
Yes, a red.
See if I can say if I can provoke Charlotte.
Charlotte got all got upset with him last week. We're talking about red being a flavor.
It's delicious. She said that needs to be P.O.I. one week is red of flavor.
But they are good. It's good. Wait till you have the lemonade.
I was searching for one of the hardest ones to find. Everybody's buying the lemonade.
It's very, very hard to find right now.
You have to have some peets or orange tangerine or something like that.
Orange tangerine is very good.
It tastes like the orange drink that you used to mix with your kids.
Who's name I'm not going to say because it means two things.
But that's really, really good. The peach tea is good.
The sweet tea. I'm not a real big thing.
I was about to get it.
Not a big fan of the sweet tea.
It just doesn't taste well. I don't know if I'm just not getting the mix right
or what's going on there.
But I do recommend it. It's good.
Okay.
Now we talked earlier about WWE bringing back the cruiserweight division.
Here's the kind of story that leads into that.
Alex Shelley of the Motor City Machine Guns has announced he is not renewing his contract with TNA.
I don't know if one has anything to do with the other.
But it is very interesting the timing of these two stories together because
Alex Shelley is a great wrestler.
I just hope if WWE takes him, they take him and save him.
Because the Motor City Machine Guns great tactic.
Also, we find out one of the reasons on open fight night they've been doing this gut check
the last couple of months is they are putting their toe in the water to see if gut check can be a spin off.
Here's a question for TNA or just a suggestion for TNA.
Get the product you got now right before you start adding other product to it.
Just just a thought.
Also, impact does go live this Thursday night and an hour earlier.
We find out today fans will get to vote on who Devon defends the TV title against
Challengers will be revealed starting on Monday.
You will be able to vote for who Devon defends the TV title against on Thursday night.
Because as we know the TV title will be defended each week on television.
Like, oh, I don't know, I've been talking about for about five years now.
Now that we've got, oh, by the way, Brooke Hogan, who we talked about last week now being in charge of the knockouts in TNA says when she was under negotiations with Dixie Carter, her dad did not know.
Senator gave her dad a heart attack when they announced it.
Don't, don't believe that.
No, Hulk Hogan knows everything she does.
You see the promo they showed of her Thursday night where she did the whole shirt tearing off thing and had the red bra underneath the yellow shirt.
Yeah, her dad knows everything she does.
Yeah, I'm sure.
Well, her dad knows everything that company does.
Yeah.
Let's be honest.
I don't think, I don't think Dixie's negotiating with anybody else without him around.
So, let's talk just a couple of quick things about impact.
We are really running this bully right thing, aren't we?
I could honestly care less.
Just get the Dudley boys back together, but I didn't think it was funny.
This whole Joseph Park thing, Abyss's brother, Joseph Park is in the crowd.
He's like, you come in here right now and you know what's going on as he's headed to the ring?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, I'm not kidding you.
They yes, chance in Joseph Park on impact.
Wow, and I was like, we can't drown this thing out with crowd noise.
And it was awesome.
I'm on my couch laughing hysterically.
I'm like, Vince has trumped you again and it wasn't even on purpose.
They yes, chance in him.
Maybe they're not paying attention to the product because of this.
But I will say this, crowd noise, the piped in crowd noise was at a minimum this week.
What I'm wondering is if with them going live this week, if they're just finally realizing you
can't do pumped in crowd noise, if you're going to do a live show.
And so they've kind of, you can't do camera tricks anymore.
Yeah, it's going to be live.
So I think they've just kind of backed off of it.
So it's not complete culture shock.
Because it was a good crowd.
It wasn't it wasn't Miami the night after WrestleMania with Mike God probably the greatest wrestling crowd I've ever seen.
But the crowd noise was significantly more organic.
And we did have the return of sting.
But it always looks like the people aren't interested in the show.
Well, it's because they're people that just probably just kind of wandered into it.
Because all you have to do is buy a ticket to Universal Studios and you go to a TNA for free.
It's at Universal Studios Orlando.
So if you're there on a taping day and you don't want to be out in the central floor
at a heat and humidity for a couple of hours, you just roll in and pay impacts going on.
We can watch this.
Wasn't it the same way for WMAC Masters?
Back in the East.
I don't know.
Because I know it was in Universal Studios too.
It was it was kind of that way with WCW Saturday night when it was at MGM.
They did the same.
I always remember there's one guy that had a had a sign that said today is Wednesday.
Lab.
That's really all that happened on impact.
I almost had nothing on impact just like I don't have a whole heck of a lot for Smackdown.
But we'll roll it.
Smackdown will be live July the 3rd.
You may want a DVR because John, I don't know if you've heard the official announcement
of Ragnarok.
Which is what Summer BAM 39 is going to be called this year.
Myself, front of the show Clay, Harrison, and front of the show Devon Pike all throwing
the parties together.
July the 3rd, we have rented out the pool area at J Pepez on Lower Greenville.
All of the Empire is cordially invited to join us.
Five o'clock until the last person drops.
Which will be actually the day after my birthday.
So you're not working on the 4th of July anyway.
Come on out to J Pepez.
Celebrate me as I do my last year with the number 3 starting my age.
Got 40 staring me in the face.
Come hang out with us.
We're going to have a close for me, pal.
Yeah, I'm just saying.
Come tongue celebrate.
I expect to see you and your lovely lady friend there, sir.
See if we can get Lisa and Kevin out of the house for the night too.
I'd love to see them.
Brandon expect to see you and your lovely lady friend as well.
Yes, sir.
And I'm sure that the lovely and talented Mrs. Irving will be there.
And her birthday is July 1st.
Oh really?
Yeah.
Jens is June 10th.
They have slam aversary.
Which we're still trying to get a plan to go.
We've got to get this thing done if we're going to go.
So also your last FCW taping is going to be June 7th.
They've moved this to a place called Full Sail University.
So there's that.
Smackdown.
Orton.
Orton missed a chance for television gold last night.
Opening segment of the show,
Eve is talking about who the the opponent for
shameless is going to be at no way out.
Alberto Del Rio comes out makes his case.
Orton comes out.
The first thing he says is my name is Randy Orton.
And I waited for it.
And he didn't do it.
Randy Orton, let me tell you something.
Here's what you should have done with Alberto Del Rio standing in the ring.
You should have looked at even said,
my name is Randy Orton.
But you already knew that.
Just steal the bits.
Do the gimmick infringement.
It would have been television gold.
Because the reaction from Del Rio would have been priceless.
No pun intended.
But I thought that would have been greatness.
But I also realized last night that we've now had two
pay-per-views in a row where we've had somebody
return to WWE at the pay-per-view and win a belt.
Because at Extreme Rules it was Laila winning the deals title.
Sunday night, Christian returns, wins the battle royal,
beats Cody Rhodes for the IC belt.
So there's that.
Can we just ride back to Russell somebody that's not in the Lollipop guild?
I
Because this is just getting old.
I just because I can't look at him and not here.
Tell me I'm lying!
Everybody he's wrestled is nobody you've ever heard of
and they're they're like Tom Cruise-size.
He might as well be wrestling the Olsen twins every week.
That's all I'm saying.
I would say Peter Dinklage.
But Peter Dinklage would probably beat him because he's such a bad-a
on Game of Thrones.
Because at Lannister always repays its debts.
And your SmackDown made event for no way out will be
Shamest versus Del Rio.
Which you know what?
This intrigues me a little bit.
I'm kind of okay with this.
I'm on board with this.
But I did realize that Del Rio does look like Paul Roma and Tito Santana had a love child.
Picture it in your head stay with me.
Don did say the Ryback finish within the handicap match.
It was good but can we just get him to wrestle somebody?
And just let him be Skip Sheffield again because this bit I don't buy this bit.
Because I got so you see him coming out with the Texas A&M logo on his rump and the cowboy hat.
I you know Brodus Clay versus Ryback.
I'd be okay with that.
Something Don brought up.
I want to see him wrestle one.
Because Funky is on a roll.
He hasn't lost since he's come back.
Neither one of them has.
Because Funky is on a roll.
I love that bit.
I hated that bit when it first happened.
But man it's grown on me.
It took me it took me two weeks.
If I say a week I was like okay I like this.
The fact that the disco ball kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
Is that Chris Rock that's part of his uh that comes out into somebody?
I'm gonna call my mama.
That's Chris Rock isn't it?
It does sound.
It does sound.
What's about to call my mama?
Because I turned it I turned it.
I can't believe somebody hadn't called my mama.
Because I turned it.
So we had to actually rewind it and listen to it.
He's like why am I watching this?
This is really the question.
Yeah probably.
But that's going to do it for wrestling talk.
You are listening to the clubhouse live every Saturday night at eight o'clock
on the east coast five o'clock on the west coast.
We're going to do a little bit of technology corner right now.
Just one real quick story that came across my desk the other day that I'm a little
a little upset about.
It's Kurt Schilling's video game company 38 studios
who I'm told was doing starting to do really well.
They shut the doors on Thursday because they forgot to make a payment on a business loan
by May 1st 250 people nationwide lose their job like that.
I'm just like man.
Let me see if I can look up real quick what the because they did release something
that I thought was I ain't ever seen it.
Well call 38 studios because that was his number.
Shadow to do this.
Thank you Wikipedia.
It was formerly green monster games because of course he played for
for uh for the for Charlottes beloved Boston Red Sox.
They were focused on MMORPGs.
And
maybe they never did release anything.
That's probably what I'm trying to look for.
The games they were developing.
Oh it was they did have one game release in February called Kingdoms of Amelor Reckoning.
And they were working on something called Project Copernicus.
Which is an MMO.
So it was basically computer game like basically like
kind of like World of Warcraft.
That's what they were trying to go for.
And then Facebook goes releases their public stock last week as we talked about on this show.
Bono is part of an investment group stood to made 1.5
billion dollars off of it.
And then the stock does not perform well.
And now Bono's group is now going to lose 342 million dollars.
Wow.
I mean I'm sure Bono's got that on him.
So that's not a big deal for him but man it did underperform.
But now Facebook now talking about developing their own browser.
I first of all I probably couldn't use a Facebook browser at work.
It would probably block the whole thing.
But I'm also a guy that I'm not big on changing my browser.
I'm a Firefox guy.
Firefox does what I needed to do.
I can't stand internet explorer because there's so many holes in it.
I tried I tried Safari for a while.
But there's a lot of websites that aren't compatible with Apple's programming.
So I don't really use it.
My wife does use Google Chrome and she likes it a lot.
I like Opera Mini.
Oh that's a sad story.
I've never missed with Opera.
I've heard good things but again I'm not one that likes to go out and mess with all that stuff either.
That's all we got for technology corner.
We're going to use some quick baseball talk.
A very quiet week in the league.
So we're just going to run your standings for you real quick.
AL East.
Charlotte's beloved Boston Red Sox six games out of first place at 22 and 23.
Toronto won game better than them.
The Yankees that game and a half better than them.
The Tampa Bay Rays are a half game behind the
division leading Baltimore Orioles.
So Buck Showalter trying to get something done down there at 29 and 18.
American League Central.
The Minnesota twins are 11 games out of first place.
They are three and a half games worse than the Kansas City Royals.
Never thought I'd see that somebody was worse than the Royals.
Detroit four games out of first place.
They are two games below 500.
The Chicago White Sox a game and a half back of the Cleveland Indians.
I am living in Pizarro world.
In the AL West, the Seattle Mariners continuing to stink up the joint at 21 and 27 are eight and a half
games out of first place.
The Oakland A's and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles County, California,
America, North America, Earth are both seven games back of your Texas Rangers.
29 and 18 Rangers of one two straight.
The Angels of one four straight.
So they're hanging in there in the National League.
The NL West, the San Diego Padres stinking up the joint.
A second worst record in the league at 17 and 31.
There are two games behind the Colorado Rockies
with Jamie Moyer who seems to be thinking it's 1992 the way he's playing.
Yeah, he's playing very well, but he's the best thing on that team right now.
The Diamondbacks, two games better than them.
San Francisco three and a half better than them.
But the San Francisco Giants are now seven games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
All wrong.
Thank you for saying something about my team.
You're welcome, Magic.
In the NL Central, the Chicago Cubs are in dead last place.
They're in midseason form already.
They have the worst record in the league at 15 and 30.
But you know what?
They still want eight more games in the Charlotte Bobcats.
So there's the whoa.
Just saying.
They are four games behind the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Brewers two games behind the Pirates.
The Astros right in the middle of the pack.
Three games out of first place.
But John's beloved St. Louis Cardinals are a half a game behind who?
I am in Bizarre World.
The Reds are in first place.
Yeah, but the Reds were there two years ago.
Yeah, but it's two years ago versus now.
And in the only division that matters the NL East,
the Phillies are in dead last place and I couldn't be happier.
But my Braves are only a game and a half better than them.
We got a tight race in the NL East.
My beloved Marlin's tied with the Mets are in second place.
It's all in Bizarre World.
And the Nattinals are in first place.
What?
What?
So you got the Orioles, the Indians, and the Nationals all in first place.
If the playoffs started today, it would be the worst ratings ever in the history of Major League Baseball.
But those are your standings.
Not much else going on in Baseball this week unless you guys are going to think you want to add.
I don't know. The Nationals got a young team, though.
They're good.
They're still the Nationals.
I still think they should have named them as Senators.
They should have kept the name because not like the Rangers are using it.
That's true, but I don't know.
It's starting to grow on me, I think.
But yeah, like Brandon said, they are a pretty young team and they're on their way up.
Fourth quarter in the garden,
Boston up by six.
Just sunk a sick three-point shot.
I miss off the going to game and they've always scored 60 points.
So I guess the first person to 100 rule probably doesn't apply tonight.
First person to 80 wins.
We're just going to call it at that point.
Well, that might be a stretch.
Let's make it first to 75.
Yeah, no kidding.
I may not be as worried as I thought I was at this rate.
Good night.
Now this is just going to hurt the Celtics.
They're going to pull seven.
He'd have been off for a couple days.
Celtics needed to get rid of them in like within five.
They're going to have to make quick work.
They blew game four.
They had a nicely eaten game four.
They let that slip away.
They could have been up three to one.
My thing with the Celtics though,
they've got to take the,
they've got to get their emotions under control.
That's what's killing them.
But with KG and those guys, it's always been that way.
A motion always gets the better part of the Celtics.
KG's highly emotional.
And he will cuss that you on the court.
Brother, I can read lips.
That's all I'm telling you.
He'll cuss it fans.
Yeah, it has.
All right, street lights on.
Couldn't have time that better if I tried.
Six.
This is the list we were going to do last week.
And then Charlotte went, no, I have a list.
And I went, what?
And she literally pulled her phone out of her pockets and here's my list.
It was a good list.
I like it said, I learned a lot about my Charlotte last week.
But this week we're going to do what I feel are the worst TV and movie tie-ins ever.
Some of these I had to look up.
Other ones I knew.
First and foremost, number 10, anything related to battleship.
Thank you Subway for bringing the Smokehouse barbecue chicken.
Great sandwich, although I went to one the other day.
And we're like, we don't have that.
I'm like, it's on the menu.
But like the Coke Zero tie,
these are the billboard they got on 30.
We're like, the alien ship is like,
got a hold.
It's like a tractor beam on the Coke Zero.
I'm like, you are putting a dress on a pig, my friend.
It is still a pig.
Coke Zero isn't good.
I think with Coke Zero, I like it.
My system does not.
If you know what I mean.
And I think you do.
Number nine, and this is a fairly recent phenomenon as well.
The Captain America from the Avengers,
the Captain America shooting shield.
You get the shield and it shoots little shields out.
I'm like, that's not the way the shield works.
The kids love it.
I mean, if you want to do one for like the Black Widow,
because you can shoot even though she didn't shoot the little things off her wrists,
you can do that.
Don't do that with the shield.
Number eight, Mr. T. serial.
Remember he had that cartoon series in the 80s,
where he was like the mentor of a bunch of gymnasts and they solved crimes and stuff?
They're very odd.
Kind of like the ending.
But it was just like a bunch of little
teas that were like the same flavors Captain Kreis.
Yeah, that's all they were.
That's all the Captain Kreis.
I don't even remember that.
Oh, you got one on me there.
Number seven,
Vince McMahon trying to capitalize on the release of No Holt's Bard.
What he did with this is he brought tiny
Lister in as his character from No Holt's Bard and did an angle with Hogan.
I was like, you know what Vince?
I get suspension of disbelief.
But this is going away and brought him in as Zeus.
Didn't bring him in as tiny Lister.
Brought him in as his character from the movie.
I'm just like, I mean, even WCW knew better than to bring in Oliver Platte
as his character for Mighty Rumble.
Although they did put
the title on David Arquette.
So you can kind of maybe give that a tie.
Number six, Erkallos.
Another serial reference.
I just remember they even did a board game with Erkall.
But I was just like,
do I need an Erkall board game?
They had a full house board game too.
That whole Friday night line of these.
The TGIF board game collection.
I must have been getting old down and this stuff.
Or I must have blocked them out.
Yeah, you may have blocked it out, circus.
You're about to say,
if I'm mistaken, you're older than me.
Just about.
Number five.
And I had to look this up.
I saw this and I'm like, this didn't really exist.
And I looked it up and this was a thing.
Spider-Man raid.
Hand to God if I'm lying.
I'm dying as I sit here.
Spider-Man raid.
If you want to talk about two things that do not need to go together.
This one and this was really a thing.
Number four, Star Trek Egos.
Look these up.
Look these up.
They were Egos, but they had like, instead of having the waffle design all the way through,
it was blank in the middle and they were like, little printed,
like, looks like cartoony Star Trek images.
Oh, it's like the Enterprise or something like that.
No, like Kirk and Spock or the Starfleet sim.
Yeah, look it up.
This was a thing.
And I want to say this was like in Star Trek the motion picture era.
Because they were trying to pimp that thing.
78, 79 somewhere in there.
Number three.
If you remember the movie hackers.
This was the first exposure some people got.
This was the first exposure a lot of us got to Angelina Jolie.
What they did, and it's so funny if you go back and watch this movie now.
Dude, I got this boss 56k modem and it's awesome.
Oh man, you're going to be flying through the internet.
And the laptops like the size of a brick.
But they did this promotional online game with it.
Which at the time I worked at Incredible Universe.
So we featured it on the big screen and we had P we did a drawing
and people got to come play the game live because it was live all over the world.
The problem was the internet in 1995 was still in its infancy.
And so overloading a server was really easy to do.
So we had this big event in people.
You get to this one point and it just stops.
Like we had they sent us promotional t-shirts with the logo of the movie on it.
And you get to this one point where you're trying to break into the quote
unquote the government facility and it the game just stops.
We knew that we were doing was right and it would just sit there.
And we were all like well I could just hear that
in my head because it was just it was it absolutely failed bit.
I didn't see this online anywhere but if you look it up I'm sure there's somebody that talks
about it. Number two the Jar Jar Binks Omega Mouth Candy.
I forgot about this until I saw it.
It was like a lollipop but it was Jar Jar Binks and his mouth opened.
Okay, so if you're holding this if you're holding the stick of the lollipop
you're holding the back of Jar Jar's head.
So Jar Jar's mouth opens and the lollipop is his tongue.
Yeah, I'm like and somebody at Lucasfilm thought this was a good idea.
Like I saw it I was like oh like I got I just felt ooki just looking at it.
But nothing will ever beat number one.
There will never be a time that a movie or video game or movie or TV tie-in
will beat the number one thing on this list.
It's just not possible and it's ET the video game for the Atari 2600.
This game was so bad and sold so badly and this is documented.
They took all the unsold copies, dug a hole in the middle of the desert, dumped them in a hole
and buried them. Wow.
Do you remember how bad this game was?
Virtually impossible to beat.
It was horribly impossible to beat.
You could do it but man it took you forever.
I do remember this a little bit.
Where you had to put the speak and spell together and oh it was so bad.
And as if Atari 2600 graphics weren't that great to begin with.
Of course.
And you're going to try to do an ET tie-in with this thing.
Look it up.
It's the absolute I mean I remember playing this going there's this stupid.
Especially because the Atari joystick was always it was just such a pain to maneuver.
You had the one button and the one button in the corner.
But I was like when they tried to do defender I'm a Atari 2600.
I'm like how do you do this?
This is this is not physically possible.
But that's the list.

I你 but you're so far away.
Hey, you know what only you will have another lady hand me your my
Let tomorrow, if I'm here without your love, you know I can't survive
I need my love, can't break you, I'm about to talk
Throw it all away, I love, I love, throw it all away, I love
Throw it all away, I love, I love, throw it all away, I love
Throw it all away, I love, throw it all away, I love, throw it all away
Throw it all away, I love, throw it all away, I love, throw it all away
You can tear your darkness, make it fall aflight
But let your love flow back to me, I can't believe and let this feeling end
This happy room would be a long place when you were gone
And I won't even have your shoulder for the crime
No one's love, no one's love, no one's love, it could be just true
I'm begging you, I'm throwing it all away, I love, I love, throw it all away, I love
Throw it all away, I love, throw it all away, I love, throw it all away, I love
The world we made it ours to hold, but dreams are made for those who really true.
This news is new, it's real, but I still feel new here itself.
You can throw it all away, I love, I love, don't throw it all away, I love.
The preceding was a sooner or greater production.
Why? Because I have to.
