The following is a sooner-or-gator production.
No one's, no one's, no one's.
Good morning!
Boop!
Joe, stop. Are you ready for the jam?
I said, are you ready for the jam?
Yo, jeep, kick it.
Drums, please!
Keep it going now!
Tarris.
It is Saturday nights, it is 8 o'clock on the east coast, it is 5 o'clock on the west coast,
it is the 7th of April in the year of our Lord 2012, it is season 2 episode 38 the
Clubhouse is on the air, we welcome each and every one of you individually whether you are
listening live, whether you are listening on the archive, or whether you are listening
on your portable device, we don't care how you listen, we just appreciate you listening.
I am Rob, welcome to you, joining me as he does each and every week, he is Chad, I've got
that chronic tick in my neck where I just turn into the Bhutabi brothers like had a
way of playing with this song, gets me every time this song, it is a great album sir, if you
do not own this sound by the original 7, do yourself a sound, great album, not that we think
them for supplying the theme music, because I am sure they don't even know we do, because
if they do I am sure we have got a season to assist by now, probably, if not by them maybe
from somebody else, I think he is associated, we actually do have a guest in studio tonight,
no man that we have met many many years ago, when paper views were still at Pugsys Library,
if you remember it has been that long, we followed with us to the Winghouse and now he is
with us each and every month at Fox and Hound, as he was this past Sunday for WrestleMania,
friend of the show Don Ford joins us, that's right, it is Easter weekend, it is also my
mother's birthday today, so happy birthday mom, and yesterday was my brother-in-law's birthday,
so happy birthday Jason, it is a big weekend, it is a big birthday month for some reason,
I have had an uncle that is having a birthday this month, and speaking of tomorrow, something
has changed since last time we were on the air, tomorrow was going to be, you know, get
up, go to church, our church is having a petting zoo, but found out that on Monday we
got a call, remember last year we played at Stroker's Road House's film, the church
I was with at the time played out there last year, they are band-bailed, the band they had
booked this year bailed, so they called us, so Grace Descending is playing them all, nice,
the first time we played as a band in public, that is a hangover coming out party for you guys,
so tomorrow, 10 30, if you want to come to church on the bike, last year we had about 150
bikes, church on the bike is that what they call it every year, so it is going to be fun,
good of a good time, and then I am going to come home and whittle away at my DVR until
Game of Thrones comes on, that is the plan, you are partake in a ham or what, I am sure
there will be him burger of some form, I don't have like a plan, not the same thing, no,
we are not doing a big deal, also to our friends of the Judaic faith, happy Passover,
happy Passover weekend, and if you are of another faith and you are celebrating something
this weekend, happy that to you, because I don't know beyond that, happy that, you know,
I don't want to exclude anybody, we need to find a song, happy whatever it is, I want to
write that, happy that to you, that is even my new album, Doc, you know what, but aren't
you afraid to let him write that song, I am just saying, it just got to be an instrumental,
it is really happy that, happy that to you, we have already had an title for the episode,
minutes, we start each show with corrections, we have a couple, the first one I know for
sure is on me, I referred you at the WrestleMania show, the guy that did Invincible, John Cena
Steven WrestleMania, I referred to him as UGK, that is a different rapper, that is underground
King's event, something like that, it was MGK, machine gun Kelly, and we got the shortest
match in WrestleMania history, we actually got backwards, it was Kane that won the battle
Royal and then beat Chavo, not the other way around, so I thought that's what you actually
said, I guess I said Chavo won the deal and then Kane came down as close, so, two corrections
story in my life, innocent mistakes, anybody could make them, and have, let us start with
a little NASCAR news, does this song just turn you into like Corn Holyo, you're a lovely
wife who is of British descent has joined us, welcome honey, and the lovely and talented
Charlotte is in the room, I would say C or no, but she would say C, if she's here, freshly
tanned, apparently according to her, she attended the opening day festivities for, we're going
to talk about that later, remind me that we talk about opening daydors, a question I want
to ask Charlotte while she's in the room, okay, last weekend we had the goodies fast relief
500, here are your top 10 finishers, number 10 in the 5 hour energy Toyota, Clint Boyer
in the number 15 car, apparently 5 hour energy did not get it all the way done, in 9th place
in the Miller light number 2 Dodge Brass Kizlowski, number 8 in the Smithfield helping hungry
homes number 43 Ford, Eric Almerola, I don't even know who that is, I've never heard of this
guy, these are the nights I need Cody here to fill me on this stuff, number 8, he is number
8, number 7 in the office depot, mobile 1, number 14 Chevrolet, smoke, 20 Stewart, 6th place
at the goodies fast relief 500, in the FedEx freight Toyota number 11 Denny Hamlin, another
top 5 finish from Martin Truex Jr, as he is 5th in the number 56 Napa Auto Parts Toyota,
I wonder what they use for that when they build the engine, I don't know, number 4,
okay you ready for this, shoot, this could be the coolest car so far this year,
that's a pretty wheels-off one so, number 4 goes to Matt Kenseth in the number 17 Ford,
Steven Siller Tunnel, the Towers Foundation, slash Gary Sinice Foundation, what?
But it says on my screen right now, okay, hey you put Gary Sinice's name on anything,
it's automatically cool, and this isn't on the run sheet but I want to put this out there,
he was involved in a car accident earlier this week, he was a passenger to be able to, he is okay,
okay good, so we love, and they said it's not going to affect CSI Mami because they've already,
our CSI New York, because they've already done filming, so speed recovery to you Mr. Sinice,
we are all fans on this show, number 3, the bronze medal, Dale Earnhardt Junior, he is
having his way back up, probably the best start to a season he's had in at least five years,
he is in the number 288 Amp Energy National Guard Chevrolet, the silver medal,
in the Shell Penzoil number 22 Dodge AJ Almond Dinger, Almond Dinger,
and winning the race last Sunday in the Outback Steakhouse number 39 Chevrolet, Ryan Newman,
he wins $198,808 for that, one Pablo Montoya, you killed my father, be prepared to die,
you need to have more top 10 finishes because I don't get to do that if you're not, you don't
finish in the top 10, which brings you to your updated sprint cup standings, if the chase
started today, the number 12 spot would go to Brad keselowski, who moves up four spots,
Carl Edwards in the number 11 spot moving up one, Jimmy Johnson drops one to number 10,
Clint Boyer also drops one to nine, Ryan Newman up to to eight, Denny Hamlin stays steady at seven,
Martin Truex Jr drops one to number six, Kevin Harvick drops three to number five, Matt Kenseth
is up two spots to number two, number three of one spot, smooth, Tony Stewart,
and guess who is in second place in your sprint cup standings right now sir, six points behind
the leader who is Greg Biffle, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jr. You got to keep this thing alive,
because you've changed everything else, there's only one person left to blame,
and it's you, it's you, it's user error at this point,
because that guy, I mean that guy was the face of the sport, on a certain level he still is,
because if you take someone like me who is not very NASCAR savvy, I can name you a handful of
drivers, he's one of them, he's on that list no matter who you are, totally, you know,
oh I didn't see where we were going next, I gotta fix that, who let Primus talk here from the great
Lesb Claypool, Jerry with the race, we are off this week, that's right, because they don't race
on Easter, so we are off this week, and next week is Texas, oh really, yes, next weekend is the
first of the two races at Texas, we will, and that is a Saturday night race for the sprint cup,
which is very unusual for NASCAR for them to do a Saturday night race, so maybe they want to
get their taxes done quickly, Sunday's the 15th or something, but that's going to be next week
on Fox, and we'll talk about that more during the show next week. You are listening to the Clubhouse,
we are your one-stop shop for all things sports and entertainment, follow us on Twitter at Clubhouse
show, follow us on Facebook, the Clubhouse podcast, follow me on Twitter, yes that Rob Irvin, ERVIN,
I am at ChadNTG69, and Don doesn't have Twitter, so the streak is now dead,
our back-to-back people with guests with Twitter has died, I have Facebook,
everybody has Facebook, I would say everybody does, just about, my boss's boss does not have a
Facebook page, my sister has Facebook, she had to be dragged into a kicking and screaming, that's true,
she did that for the band, she's actually parted ways with the band,
really, we'll talk about that off-air I guess, wow, we made that decision yesterday, wow,
breaking news right here on the Clubhouse, make sure you join us each and every Saturday night,
if you miss any portion of the show, it is available for you to listen to on archive,
almost immediately after we get off-air, I copy and paste the contents of the show and click go,
and that's it, I get on Macon, or I get on Macon, download it on my iTunes every week,
exactly, and that's going to change very soon, Don, I'm glad you said that, because we're going to,
we're changing, right now the website is www.theclubhousewithrobyncote.com,
that we will be changing that URL very soon, I will let you know, because you have to change the
RSS feed, because it's going to be a different, it's going to be a different domain, so,
we may forward it for, as long as the contract's there, but I want to get everybody on the new domain,
right, so, let's do a little TV talk,
I didn't have the Olympics thing, I had to go with this, I'll work on that for you,
because we're going to be needing that, but you can't say that this song is not greatest,
oh no, it's definitely great, especially with the local ties, he's got,
although I do like the Atari version of this too, yeah, it did a good job, but we're going to
need the Olympic theme for this summer, obviously, because we're going to be talking about it,
very, very soon, and that's right, and that's why we're talking about the first thing in
TV news from the, because this guy doesn't have enough to do category, apparently,
Ryan Seacrest is going to join NBC for their summer Olympics coverage, here's my first question,
is this a conflict of interest, how so, Fox,
where does he do his New Year's Eve show fun, ABC, right, that's his new mission,
to have shows on every network, he's, he wants to be Dick Clark, so bad he can't stand it,
but see the thing is, the weird thing here is he didn't wait for somebody to die and take
your job, he just joined, yeah, that's what he does everywhere else, he wants to be the next
separate Dick Clark, he's still with us, got love it, he wants to be the next perpetual teenager,
that's why he has the ashes stored on him by the dictator,
I just, I guess maybe he just, Bob Costas is getting so old, we need to get some fresh blood
in there, maybe something, HD is not Bob Costas' friend, no, I've noticed that,
I watched him on something recently, I want to say it was, it was a sporting event of some,
I was, it was pre-show for Sunday Night Football, and I was like, wow, he still has that commanding
voice, but yeah, but I'll tell you who else is not a friend to HD, Jimmy Lennon Jr.,
Showtime's boxing ring announcer, oh brother, that brother looks like the crib keeper in
high definition, most of the local newscasters in this market are pretty dead up scary too,
although you lead my care and board out of this, I want to say about the Olympics,
just something more besides swimming in gymnastics, that's all they showed last time,
only two sports the whole time, well I did hear something about,
that they're making the volleyball, the women's volleyball teams change the uniforms this year,
are they too revealing, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, by the way,
your, your lovely wife who's a British descent says she has her last dick tonight with the band,
that's true, so she, yes, she's not officially gone yet, but, no, she, but she did, she did,
when the sun rises tomorrow, it's the ball, yeah, right, she's actually got a gig in 40,
very disturbing news coming out of NBC, this scares me, I'm gonna be honest with you,
it doesn't scare me because the show's been circling the drain for decades, it was really,
the last few years, Saturday Night Live has really started getting good again though,
like it's, I'm laughing consistently, and I've said for years and you can rewind the tape and prove
it, that show is owned by Andy Sandberg, Jason Sudakus, Bill Hader, and Kristen Week,
Kristen Week, they did, they did some kind of a weird study, but somebody actually took the time,
it did this, she is a, from a percentage standpoint, she has, in her tenure on SNL, she has been in
more sketches than any woman in the history of Saturday Night Live, wow, reports are now saying,
Kristen Week, Andy Sandberg, and Jason Sudakus will be leaving Saturday Night Live with this season
is over next month, put a bullet in it, this frightens me dude, because they are the strength of
that show, and if you're Bill Hader, it's like, did I not get a memo?
Maybe he feels the need to be the savior of that show, I mean I think, but here's my thing though,
and Don, I want you to ring on this too, Kristen Week, she will make the jump to film,
Oscar nominated, I mean on a consistent basis, I post SNL, that's what I'm saying, she's
Oscar nominated, well she's not, yes she is, she got nominated for Writing Bridesmaid,
sir, look it up, she got nominated, she wrote the script, she was, I didn't, I didn't,
I didn't realize I'd get that, that got an nomination, I knew that the best supporting actors did,
but I didn't, no, she got nominated for co-writing it, I gave her the original screenplay,
oh nice, okay, Melissa McCarthy got nominated, that's her, okay, cousin of Jenny McCarthy,
Sandberg, what worries me about Andy Sandberg is that he's going to turn into Adam Sandler,
and they're doing a movie together coming up that looks terrible, it's a remake, what is it that
that were his set boy or son, that's my boy, that's my boy, it's a remake and it looks terrible,
it does look terrible, but nowadays it's pretty much synonymous if you put Sandler's name on it,
it's going to be a suck fest, I mean how many people saw Jack and Jill 12, it swept the razzies last
week, swept it, Sudeckis, Sudeckis to me, his career could go either way, because he's done
some good stuff from a film standpoint, but is he a guy that you could put in a film on his back
and have it be effective? I like Sudeckis a lot, I think he's hilarious, apparently at one point
he was dating the Olivia Wilde, so the dude's a pimp, but you never got a boss, I thought he
still was, I don't know if he is or not, I know that they were seen together, recently, they never
seen it, the Oscars together, well he did that one, that Cedar Falls, and that one was called Cedar
Falls, Cedar Rapids, that was, no, that wasn't him, that wasn't who was that dude, Sudeckis was
in Cedar Rapids, who was that dude, that was Ed Helms from the office, okay okay, I don't
watch either one of those shows, so I don't know these guys, Sudeckis was in horrible bosses,
I know that, I think you never know about some of these people that come to mainstream, you know,
from like SNL and stuff, some have totally made it, some flop, I think you might do all right,
I hope so, because I like the guy a lot, I'm just saying, I know he was, he was in horrible bosses,
he was in hall pass, but he also does a lot of voice work, especially for the Cleveland show,
he's the, he's the neighbor that we think may or may not be gay, you know, watch,
watch band of brothers in a weekend, that's Sudeckis, but he was all, he was also great in
Eastbound and down this year, he was great in Eastbound and down this year, so with these three
leaving, does that pretty much, does Hader not just say Sianara, he almost has to, but it makes me
wonder, because look at all the work he's gotten outside of SNL, probably more than any of these three,
outside of weeks, I think weeks that, weeks the strong link, we'll turn to another office,
you know, Steve Crowley's the office, I just don't know if they've got the talent that can back
them up, that's my thing, but they, there's, there's what, a thousand people in line to be on that
show, and there's gonna be some shining stars that always come out, well, I'm hoping, I mean,
I'm hoping that there's people that they've got in the wings, there are publicists denying this thing,
but when something like this comes out more often than not, it's happening, yeah, especially in
this day and age, you can't hide anything anymore, they could spin it as much as they want to, isn't it?
We'll talk about that later, yeah, so two weeks from tomorrow, right,
with two weeks from tomorrow, block out your, your DVR for probably about three hours if you are
an old-school cat like us, because first of all, I hope you're sitting down because
two weeks from tomorrow, Fox will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, let that sink in,
the Fox Network has been on the air 25 years, it feels like it's been longer than that actually,
there's going to be a reunion of cast members from that 70s show, with Ashton Kutcher,
Mila Kunis, Laura Prepawn, and Wilder Valderama, the Prepawn of the Kunis, that's just a great day,
that's it though, I figured they would have got some more, yeah, where is the worst, where's the
worst of this cat, where's Topra Grace, that's all that's been announced, I'm sure there'll be more,
but also will be on this show, Keen and I, Marlin Wayne, Sean Wayne's, where's Damon,
Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Ryan C. Crest, Steven Tyler,
Kiefer Sutherland, Seth McFarlane, Christina Applegate, Davis, David Faustino,
Ed O'Neal, Katie Segal, Chris Segal, Katie Segal, Calista Blockhart, Gabrielle Carteris,
Shannon Doherty, Jason Prisley, I am Zering, Patrick Warburton,
Jillian Anderson, David Dukovny, and Chris Carter, who created the Xbox. God almighty, I am intrigued,
this is going to be good, I see a coffee table book in the immediate future,
Sarlo just had a moment of her own mortality, because she's older than Fox.
You poor five years older, you poor poor thing.
Hey, she's gonna start getting it together, right? There you go, she has a certain
that was funny. So the mystery of Matt Lowry, is he staying, is he going, is he gonna have
his own talk show that has been absolutely now, or not absolutely, but it has been
squashed as he signs a long-term contract to stay with the today show, because really,
what else does that show have going on? Besides making fun of Hota Kotby and Kathie Lee Gifford
in the fourth hour. That's gonna hurt me when Christian League leaves SNL, because her and
the other lady that do the Hota Kotby, Kathie Lee Gifford thing, I think it's genius.
I clocked out on SNL so many years ago. It's really good right now.
Tonight's the Sofia Vergara is hosting. Here's a musical guest.
Somebody that plays an instrument, I'm sure. Oh really? Yeah, I somehow doubt that.
It'll be on my DVR, it's all right now.
Uh, fans of Sons of Anarchy, right here. Get ready for this new season, Jimmy Smith will be joining
the cast. You put Jimmy Smith in anything, it's automatically better. Oh yeah, he's peeing a
butter to chocolate. He's just one order. He was awesome.
NYPD Blue. Awesome. West Wing. Awesome. There you go.
Let's see how I'm in one order. Was he in one order for like a minute and a half?
I don't remember him being a long order. He was on something of its ilk. Hold on.
Yeah, in NYPD Blue. Star Wars?
No. No. Not much could save the free force.
No, he couldn't. He wasn't able to do anything.
Going through him. Yeah, like like three lines. He did 12 episodes of Dexter.
Did he really?
NYPD Blue episode two. So maybe he didn't do one order. I just LA law. I guess he didn't do it.
I thought he did it. I thought he did it. I thought he did it. I thought he did it stint on
long order, but I guess I'm wrong. I think you're thinking Benjamin Brad. No, I know I know who
Benjamin Brad is versus Jimmy Smith. I just kind of looked like each other similar.
He will be he will be playing Neeron Nero Padilla. He is a gang member who has negative influences on
Jax. Jax is the blonde Australian guy who's the for those two. I'm not giving too much away,
but he's the was the starch in the arms of the vice president of Ron Proman's character.
Okay. Who's kind of taken it over now and Ron Proman's kind of screwed up and go into the lower
level. That's how the season ended. I am also hearing rumors that there's going
when this series ends, they're going to do a prequel series for it. Really?
Mm-hmm. Have you ever watched it? I had never had. I watched it. That's one of those,
I'm going to wait till it's done and then just watch the whole thing. I watched a good chunk of it
on during the first season and I was really impressed with that. When that came out, the shield was
still on and actually, no, I think it started right when it's shield ended. Yeah, there was
it was it was a one it was a one season overlap. Yeah. Or is it justified that was that picked
up right when shield ended? I think just because the main character I justified was on the shield.
Yeah. Yeah. So I think there was a one season. Oh, like season one of Sands of Anarchy was on
during the last season of the shield. I'm pretty sure because that's why I didn't watch it because
I was like I can't do both. Wait a minute. The main character on justified is played by. Oh,
there's another guy. There's another guy on just about a great change. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
The great parry guild. I'm sorry. Do you want to do a sentence? Yeah. I, since
great show. I've heard of them a great thing. And it's like one of those like when it's showing,
it's like 24. If you got a hooked into 24, you need it next year. Yeah. You can never get tired of
it. I gotta go back and watch the last season of 24 because I missed the last eight hours.
Perry Gilpin, if you remember her from Frazier, she will be joining CSI as the often referred to
wife of Ted Danson's character. This is another show I've checked out on. I'm telling you what,
it's good right now. I when I checked in to get glue on CSI a couple of weeks ago,
now that Elizabeth, she has joined the cast, by the way, still looks great.
But the chemistry between her and Danson is very, very good. And now you're going to
read Perry Gilpin and I think it was a great actress anyway. I'm on board with this, sir.
I'm trying to think who she played on on Frazier. She wasn't deafening. She was the other one.
She was Frazier's producer. Oh, the one that was taking calls. Yes. Oh, okay. Yeah, I do like her.
Amanda Bynes, former child star, arrested for DUI. You know, you know, you're going to get arrested
for DUI when you hit a sheriff's car on your way home from the club. You're not, you're not getting
that out of that one. I don't care who you are. I'm just saying. You see, what had happened was,
you know, what's going to happen is, you know, this, you're not the boss of me.
I'm about to be. Yeah. She was, she spent several hours in jail and posted $5,000
bail. My favorite comment came from a forum. I was reading about this in the very first person said,
so Lindsey's mentoring now. I was like, okay, brother, we're going to have some great comedy,
especially coming up in wrestling talk tonight. So be ready for that. Where's the rest of my
TV news? That's pretty much it. We, the only thing that we glossed over was the, uh, via
Condeos. There it is. Okay. I was like, I knew I, because that's the reason I'm playing this song.
After almost 10 years, one tree hill goes off the air, which I honestly did not realize it was
still on. I know a lot of people that watch that show, because I thought it went the way of Dawson's
Creek, like, eons ago. It's the CW. I know. But he knows what's on that. I know, I know super
natural still on it, which is a, which is a pretty decent show. Like exfile and vampire diaries.
Did that. I don't watch it. Apparently it's doing very, very,
charlotte's best show ever. What? One tree hill? Please. She loves her some one tree hill. I
know for a fact, charlotte, did you watch the finale yet? Is what I want to know? And if,
and if you did, did you, did you find proper resolution for all of your unanswered one tree hill
questions? I don't know if there could be some. I don't know. I've never watched the show.
Far be it for me to judge somebody else's TV viewing abilities.
I'm a very special. She says yes. Okay, good for her. She will cut you. She can try.
You are listening to the clubhouse. We are so happy that all of you joined us Sunday for
WrestleMania 28. Oh, she says she enjoyed it, but no, she did not. Get all of her questions answered.
Appreciate everybody that joined us for WrestleMania 28. We will do it all again
April 29th for WWE, something that resembles extreme rooms. And there were a lot of you that
joined us on Sunday. Good wow. So so excited about that turn out. We took over the
building, sir. Yeah, that's not an understatement. And normally, normally we have one room and we
fill up that room. And really the ball really started rolling with the rumble this year.
And by the time WrestleMania hit brother, it didn't, if you wanted to watch something else,
you were at a luck. I want to say, by the time we were wrapping the show up,
the other room had already filled the other room filled while we were on the air. Yes, sir.
It was the center room where the bar was. That was filling up. God. So thanks to everybody that
came out and joined us for that. And every booth was filled. Yeah. And seating,
seating people at full tables again. Exactly. And the thing I like about going there,
it's one of your show. But number two is is that you feel like you're at a live event there.
I mean, versus what? And plus the cost, too. It's another thing. But, you know, you can watch
it at home alone, but you don't get that crowd. And you're going to pay 70 bucks. Yeah.
So we need to, we need to package a lot of what we were doing. Yeah, we're going to hold on.
Let's hold on to that until we get to Russian talk because I really want to go into that a little bit
more because that carried in a robin extra. Yeah. And so you and I talked a lot during the event.
I was like, there was some things that we said that I wanted to bring up during wrestling talk.
All right. So now there's this.
Just a little bit of MMA news, not much this week. Not a breaking news bulletin,
but Britney Palmer still hot. She was not on the ultimate fight this week. She was not
a Ariane was on this week. Still a beautiful girl though. There's a bit love for Ariane,
but I'm sorry. She's got it. She's got a right shotgun for my Britney Palmer.
Also in fighter live. They brought up some of this week and I kind of want to get you guys'
opinion on this. There's two guys on the show right now that were best friends before the show
before they got on the show. Now that they're on the show in the house, they're on opposite teams.
Oh God. So one of the subplots for this week was one of the guys that's fighting.
His name is, I'm going to say make sure I say this right. Mike Kiesa. That's how you say his name.
His best friend who's on dominant cruisers team. Dominic was kind of pumping for information.
Hey, what's but finisher to see like to use? What's his style? Oh, jeez. And it was very awkward.
How do you handle that? Because you want to have team loyalty because you want your team to do well.
But at the same time, this dude's your best friend. And not only that, but this dude,
but this Kiesa dude, his dad had just died and he had gotten back from the funeral. Oh,
is that the guy? Yes, the guy with a big bushy beard. Yeah.
That dude was in a very awkward position. Yeah, no kid, no bad form. But Kiesa comes out in a
two round fight and wins. I mean, wins. It wasn't a great fight, but it was a decisive
victory. Oh, wins a win. He didn't knock him out. It went two rounds, but the score is now
even. Both teams have two wins and two losses as we go into next week. And Alistair
Overeen continues to have problems after he defeats Brock Lesnar in December to get a shot at
a title. He has now, he has now failed a drug test as he was supposed to face junior dos Santos
at UFC 146. Does this affect the decision within his fight against Brock? Not like in a matter,
Brock can't come back and fight. Well, but still because remember, this is the one that's got all
the heavyweights on it. This is one Roy Country Nelson's fighting, Kane Velasquez's fighting,
but was that was that a title fight? Yes, it was it was Overeen dos Santos for the belt. No,
we talked about with him in Lesnar. No, that was that that was to figure out who was the number one
contender to face dos Santos. Okay, okay. And apparently Dana is hot. He should be
because this guy has the same problem in strikeports. Well, then you kind of set yourself up for
this though. Didn't you then Dana? In question, what was the drug for the announce? They did not say
what it was. Everybody else passed their tests, except they didn't say if it was a performance
enhancing drug, or if it was recreation, the length of drug tests. Okay, ultimate fighter live
goes down next week. I did not write down the guys fighting. I know one of them was the guy that
thought might have had doubt, but it turns out he didn't. And he's fighting a guy that apparently
he called out in the beginning. People still get down. That dude thought he did. I thought
they went out in the dark ages. He had a couple of great fruits. You're not going to get down. Oh,
that's scurvy. Everybody. Oh, great fruit. Great fruit. Choose the fruit. Jimmy. That was random.
12 days. Oh, that's right. He's going to Jimmy Buffett's going to be in town at 12 days. It's
going to be my 25th Buffett concert. Wow. And 26 will be in Pittsburgh in June. By the way,
joining us tonight, Don Ford, friend of the show. I don't know. There's nobody. I've seen 25
times like my wife in the last month. But outside of that, as much as the Prince fan as I am,
I've only seen him five. I was going to say, I've only seen, I've seen Nickelback three. I've
seen three. There's down three. You're seeing seal twice. You're seeing seal twice. I've seen
white heart four times. No, even though it's combined. I'm still not there. I'm still with twice.
I've seen DePeshmo twice. Let's move on to Michael Jackson twice. Let's move on to your movie
talk as we are your one stop shop for all things sports and entertainment. As we go to our friends
from box office mojo, we do not give you last weekend's box office tolls because they're old. We
give you the box office tolls from last night. Number 10, making $212,000 for a 57 day total of
$124.4 million. Denzel, Washington, Ryan Reynolds, safe house, which means they probably broken
even. I thought it would already be gone from the top. Number nine, still in the top 10291,000 for a
29 day total of $67.4 million. Don't say it, John Carter. Oh my God. They are barely two thirds
of the way back to production budget. But this is just domestic. Yeah, they made a ton of
internationally killing. Yeah, they made it internationally. It's killing. Good to be lucky for them.
Number eight with $320,000 for a 29 day total of just under $4 million for the CBS films.
Opus Chandler being inspired. Seman fishing in the Yemen.
You're going to mislead people with that. They're money. I don't think it's a friend spin off.
Number seven, still on Friday, making $2.3 million at number seven on Friday for a 36 day total
of $195.5 million for the War Axe. Ali, how does this movie keep going?
Number six, making $3.625 million on Friday for a 22 day total of $103 million for 21 jump street.
Remember, the budget on this was $35. I'd say somebody made a little bit of cash off of this.
The sequel was greenlit the day before it released. I thought it flopped. I did too.
Number five, $4.58 million on Friday for an 8 day total of $30.1 million. For a movie,
my mother is going to see tonight for her birthday with Keith mirror mirror. Oh,
I don't care what anybody says. She's a beautiful one. And nothing but love for Phil Collins's
daughter in this movie. True, but true. It doesn't look bad.
I'm going to start that over again because I got music kid up for this story that I don't want.
I don't want to oversell yet. Okay. Number four, making $4.425 million on Friday for an 8 day total
of $49.3 million for Wrath of the Titans. Got nothing. I felt number three, making $7.14 million
for a three day total of $15.5 million. Stupid vote movie in 3D. Do you hear what they're doing in
Japan with this? No. Apparently, if you go see Boat Movie 3D in Japan, when the boat is sinking,
they're actually doing not only the 3D, but they're like putting smells into the theater to go along
with what's going on in the film. What people's seeing their pants. I don't know if it's just like,
they're making saltwater smells or something. They parody this on Saturday Night Live and it was
hilarious. I mean, like, I can understand maybe them bringing the temperature down in the theater
to where it feels cold or something like that, but that's going to dump. You have to dump you in the pool.
Yeah. Just turn on the sprinklers. Just turn on the freaking fire.
And your major release this week comes in at number two with $9.2 million for American reunion
on Friday. That's not bad. Not great. The problem is you still have to be in theaters at the same time
as the number one movie in the country right now. Yeah. Again. Again. On Friday making another
$13 million for a 15-day total of $282.2 million for the Hunger Games. Do you think that they
thought it was going to be this big? Oh, I guarantee you they did. As popular as these books were,
and charge, yeah, that's a charge, just that. As popular as these books were,
and the proven track record of book franchises like Harry Potter and like right now with the
girl with the dragon tattoo, they knew this was going to be. But I got one word for you.
Narnia. As big as they thought that was going to be the thing with Narnia was that's an old franchise.
Lord of the Rings. That's that's apples and oranges, sir. You cannot compare the Lord of the Rings
has had its own cult following for years. So did Narnia. Narnia did for on a certain level,
but not on the level of Lord of the Rings. You cannot compare those. There's no way. That's
like saying Star Wars did really well, but a battle star galactica series didn't. You can't
compare those two. Not possible. I mean, with token and CS Lewis being best friends and in the
writing club together. But you've also got to remember that that that Narnia at the root of what
Narnia is, caters to a certain demographic of people. Where has Lord of the Rings didn't.
The Chronicles of Narnia are a Biblically paralleled book series. Yeah. Aslan is Jesus. If you
watch the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, when he dies, the palace that they're in, the foundation
cracks. Look it up in the Bible. When Jesus died on Good Friday, which we celebrated yesterday,
the foundation of the church cracked in half. Aslan is Jesus. So it was a gamble for them to do
Narnia because of the Christian undertones to it. Kind of like Golden Compass. Yes. Same. But
see, with Golden Compass, it was more about the author himself than it was about the story. Yeah.
Like Shara says, we're talking about books written for a whole nother generation too. Yeah, and that's
an excellent point. I'm just saying, I don't know if there's this kind of success was not a
guarantee by any stretch of the. No, they didn't expect. Now, if you told me in 15 days it was going
to make over a quarter of a billion dollars, I might say, you're a little bit on crack. But they
knew it was going to make money. I mean, but this kind of, that's what I'm saying. Do you think they
predicted this kind of success? I quarter of a billion in three weeks probably not. Yeah. And I'll
think they expect people to camp out and stuff like they did for the, for the, I mean, it's at the
movie theater. There's, I didn't, there's no way they saw this coming. We're going to do that as
POI next week. Okay. Camping out. Okay. Because we've both been out there. I don't, I,
I don't want to ruin it for next week, but we'll talk about it off air. Because that's just
remind me. Shara says don't judge her by the way. Who's judging her? We was at the theater like at
9 o'clock. So I could come on. That's just challenge. I'm just relaying the message. I know,
I'm telling her we, we are in, in no position to judge you. This next, this next story when I
read it originally, I was kind of like, really? Ashton Kutcher is going to play Steve Jobs in a
biographical film directed by Joshua Michael Stern who did swing vote. I don't know if I'd be
putting that on my resume. But it's going to be called jobs. Have you seen the pictures? I can see
it happening in my head, but I haven't actually seen the picture entertainment weekly. If you go
to there, it's that EW dot com has a side by side picture of Ashton Kutcher next to Steve Jobs
at the age that he's playing him and it's creepy. Very close. Well, hey, look at, look at No
Wiley and that Pirates of Silicon Valley. That was kind of an airy resemblance there as well.
I kind of halfway expected him to ask him to play him again. I mean, look how many times Michael
Sheen's been asked to play the, uh, play the prime, the former prime minister of the, of, uh,
there you go, Don, if you want to come and look at this, I'm bringing it up on my laptop right now,
so you can see it. Careful there, Don. Did you see this? No, look, look over. Oh, wow.
Wow, you might want to put that on the Facebook. I'm just saying like that.
When I first read it, I was like, really?
So the, I'm looking forward, I'm in now. Then let me go to this next story, which is a little odd.
Oh, okay, they're just talking about, I thought there was breaking news for your stealers,
I apologize for that. Do you know what this is?
No. Dran, Dran. What's your Barbara? Oh, geez.
Jane Fonda is going to be in a new movie called Butler.
It's going to be about Lee Allen who will be played by Forest Whitaker. So in, he kind of
interacts her for me because anything she's in, I just want to, it makes me throw up a little bit
in my mouth. But he is going to play a Butler who worked for the White House from 1952 to 1986.
Oprah is going to play Forest Whitaker's wife. Liam Neeson is going to play LBJ, which I can kind
of see that. Well, it says he's I to play. Yeah, they wanted to admit it. And John Q.
Zach wants to play Nixon, which I, you know what? You could leak a, it's Q sac dude. That dude
can pull off anything. It was a stretch with Anthony Hopkins playing Nixon. It's an even bigger
stretch for this. Who suck? You think it better off dead. But see, but he's, I think he's a very,
he's playing at growl and pose. And now that he works, that works for him. This, I just,
that looks pretty awesome. They're going to have to put a lot of prosthetics on him to make him
look like he even looks awesome. Yeah, it does. But playing Nancy Reagan's going to be Jane Fonda.
Why can't she just go away? But you know, I'm intrigued by this film.
It's actually heard of this guy, especially for his Whitaker. I've never heard of Lee Allen. I mean,
there's Whitaker. I mean, it's all I'm saying. And I mean, I'm just, I mean, yeah,
is this going to be a theatrical release or is it? No, it is a theatrical film.
From what I mean, from what is doing it? What, what studio? They haven't said for sure. Because
this sounds like something that's being made for HBO kind of, but you know, and I bet it would work
for HBO too. Apparently, we are getting grown-ups too. Why? With the entire cast and Steve Duke
and directing, which effort, that's my original reaction was really why. And then I said why even
louder when I read joining that cast will be Taylor Lautner. Who cares? God, that movie was terrible.
It was terrible. I guess the only good part of that movie is when they're all sitting in the
chairs and the girls trying to fix the card. It's Switch. Switch. Switch. That, that was the funniest part
of the movie. With that cast, that should have been the funniest movie made since Caddy Shack.
And it wasn't even close. No, it wasn't. It wasn't even as funny as Caddy Shack too.
She got Root Canal instead of watching that. No kid. I'm glad I waited for it on cable because I
could get him to walk out of the room. It was such a let down. But what else can you do with this?
With this? With grown-ups. Like, were there a lot of unanswered questions?
Duke, can all these guys make it go together? The principal male actors are in. I haven't heard
about any of the principal females. Like, some of Hayek, we don't know. Which didn't, she was the
thumb at the finger party that movie. She was. She really was. Maya was, every female character in that
movie was the most about the most unlikable character I had seen in a comedy. And that couldn't
rock within it. How did these guys not have chemistry? I don't know. Because they didn't.
Without, without Farley, I think it just killed the whole thing because everybody knew that
was supposed to be Farley and I think that nobody could pass that. It wasn't that. I don't even
think Farley could have saved that movie. It was that bad. And Farley's made some bad movies of his
own. No, Farley. Farley, no box office gold guarantee either. I agree. But one, two, three, four.
It's all I could come up with. I'm sorry.
Wow, dude. That's all I could come up with. Kind of missing the point here.
So we've been talking about the movie Bully, which I am very intrigued by. I would like to go see
at some point. There were screening passes, but I had to work that night.
Why is Alex? If you're not seeing Alex trip back doing a week, a week then commercial.
A week then. A week then. Can I be in your commercial? No, this is our thing.
But Bully actually has gotten a PG 13 with a minor read edit and that minor read edit being
three F bombs being deleted. Yeah, they were really. They were concerned about that big
confrontation and the school bus being being paired down with them. But they didn't, they didn't
edit that. All they did was take three F bombs out of it. And of course the PTC is freaking out.
You guys have given in and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You know what?
Screw you. Shut up. You're like, screw you. You're like the. This movie needs to reach the target
audience it is intended for. And that is kids. Kids going with their parents to see this movie together.
Well, I thought their point was they want to actually show it in schools. No, no, that is part of
the point, but I honestly believe that not only the kids need to see it, but the parents need to be
with them. Yeah. So we can open that dialogue. Yeah. So this is what happens when you're not looking
as a kid. That was Bully the bit as a kid. As was I, you know, this to me is an incredibly important
film. It's very because it's a subject that to me really hasn't been addressed properly. Yeah,
it's something that should have been made decades ago. But I'm very interested in this film.
If you are someone who has children, um, please go see this film with your kids. I would like
nothing but great things about. I would like to, I would like to see this become the next passion.
Ooh. I mean, see that. I see that. I see that. I mean, there are the very strong parallel skills
with subject matter and people not wanting to touch it and and it's something that needs to be
discussed and needs to be taken very seriously. I mean, there is a grassroots movement in all
of media. It seems all aspects of media are beloved wrestling, especially. Yeah.
Now it's all over the place. Don't even get me started on that. Captain America 2 does have a
scheduled release date of April of 2014 with the minds that said we're all going to be dead. Anyway,
speaking of Captain America 2, he was an Avenger. We've it alone. But he's not part of this.
Don't care. He's the Avenger. What's the movie coming out with Captain America and Thor and all that?
What's the Avengers? The Avengers. Okay. The Avengers.
There's what we're going to talk about right now. If you have been listening to this show for
the last few weeks, you know, I have purchased my ticket for the ultimate Marvel movie marathon. May
the fourth. I will be at AMC at North Park. I would love for us to have a huge meet-up with all
of our listeners and I'll do this thing together. It starts at 11.30 in the morning and I got the
official order. It's going to go Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, then Thor and 3D, Captain 3D,
and then at midnight it will be Avengers and 3D. You're going to be so wiped out. I'm doing it. I
don't care. I'm doing it. 40 bucks, man. You can't beat that with a stick. No, three movies and 3D
and three other films for 40 bucks. I mean, at that theater, especially. Yeah. And it's going to be
in a real 3D or whatever it is. Which theater's two in this one? There's only two in this area.
It's North Park in the parks at Arlington. Okay. It is on a Thursday and I work second ship,
so I don't have to miss two days of work. I only have to miss one. So I'm doing it. But it is
sold out at 10 locations across the country already. A couple of them in LA, one in New York,
and then they're scattered amongst it. But the two in the Dallas War with areas still available.
Get your tickets for North Park. Come hang out with me.
It's going to be good times. Nicole Kidman currently in talks to play Grace Kelly in the film
Grace of Monaco. I can see this happening. It's really only going to deal with her life once she
retires from acting and gets very politically involved. It made me think of like
the Iron Lady, but prettier. You know, that was my vibe. I just hate Nicole Kidman.
She was very mean to me. You know what? And I have to, I now have to support him on this.
I wasn't on the coke him, but if he was mean, she was mean to a member of this empire,
then we have to turn her back. Just saying, we have to turn her back on it.
I'm sorry, you're hot, you're Australian. But if you're mean to the empire, you're mean to the entire empire.
X-Men first class will seek, will film its sequel in January with Jennifer Lawrence. Don't question,
just listen. A lot of people were wondering if she was going to be able to do the sequel due to
the fact that the Hunger Games has done what it's done. Here's the thing, catching fire, the deals not
done yet. The director of the Hunger Games doesn't want to do. He's catching fire. So they're looking
for a new director. The studio hasn't finalized the negotiations yet. But even if they do, it's not
going to start filming until August. So she still is going to be able to play Mystique in the sequel
to X-Men first class, which I'm completely on board with. What the heck is this? It's Johnny Quest. That's
what I thought. I was just putting themes out there. Leave me alone. Well, because you're normally
really good at association. I'm like, it was hard for me to find stuff. This has got nothing to do
with nothing. Okay, so then how about this? Take a sip of my tasty beverage.
This is just creepy. You gave this to me, sir. I gave this to you. You gave this to me, sir.
Is it in yet?
I've got, I have no idea what this is. You're about to find out.
Do you expect me to talk? Oh, okay. Okay, now it makes sense. If you did not have plans on seeing
Men in Black 3, which I'd on May the 25th is when that releases, we were going to get the very first
trailer for Skyfall, which is the new James Bond film. Apparently he, Daniel Craig and Javier
Bardam were on entertainment tonight this week discussing it. I'm ready. I have no kid in
shoes for this. I'm trying to remember who all of your bond shakes in this one. There's like
four of them. They just announced another one. That's like a Greek actress two days ago.
I remember one of them is whoever it was that played Callisto in, not Callisto, Calypso,
in the parts of the Caribbean. She looks like Tandy Newton. I cannot think of her name to say my life.
Keep talking. I want to know the last parts of the Caribbean? Yeah. Well, no, no, no, no, in the
third one. The second and the third one. On Stranger Tides. No, no, no, no. That is the most
recent one. I've talked about Deadman's chest and she was in 28 days later as well.
Jewels might be able to come up with her name. I know who you're talking about she because
I could have told you if you hadn't asked me. Naomi Harris. Yes, thank you. God.
I know. Yeah, she is in the she's the new money penny. I think. Isn't she? Is she the new money
penny penny really? Didn't we say that on the show? That's news to me. But I'm ready for this trailer.
I'm ready for this movie. I'm ready for the movie. It's not going to make me really, it doesn't
make me want to go see men in black three, but you don't want to see men in black three. I'm on the fence.
I've kind of got a, an ill wind with Will Smith right now. But yeah, he has kind of,
kind of put that negative vibe out about himself here is of late. But the movie kind of just
grows on you, especially when it's on HBO over and over and over and just kind of grows on you.
Well, if I want to see it for no other reason, just to see Josh Broin do his best,
Tommy Lee Jones impersonation. And he does. Maybe no mistake. I just love that trailer.
We got to go like now. Okay. And he sounds just like him when he does it.
He said you got some city miles on you. That's my favorite line of it.
Yeah. But this is a healthy, I'm 26 or something like it's not a relatively,
you got some city miles on you. You know what? I could say that about a lot of people I know.
New releases in your movie house coming on Friday the 13th.
Yeah. The cabinet in the woods. Have you seen the new poster for this?
I am so very MC Escherich. It's kind of cool. You know who's responsible for this thing, right?
Nope. Mr. Wheaton. Oh really? Yes, sir.
Josh. This is a project. He's been in head on the on the back burner for like five, six years
of this commercial. Lock out. Gabriel Bern is in this thing. Any? Who's in this?
I got to talk on. Look it up. Actually, I was looking up. Skyfall to find out who she's playing.
It's not Gabriel. It's Guy Pierce and Maggie Grace. A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to
commit espionage against the US has offered his freedom. If he can rescue the president's daughter
from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Okay. Naomi Harris is playing a character
named Eve. How much finny is in this thing? Great. How much finny, sir.
Blue like jazz, which is another Christian film being released, written and direct,
I don't know if he wrote it, but directed by former Christian musician Steve Taylor,
who fell off the map many, many years ago. We've now found him and he's doing that. I saw
a commercial this last year. And also, I don't even want to talk about it. Oh god, no.
No, no. They had to do it. Why? No, they didn't show respect.
The new three-stages movie. No. Will Sassos. Sean Hayes.
Who's playing Mo? I don't know. It looks like Jim Carey, but I know it's not him. No, no, no,
Jim Carey was originally supposed to play Curly. Yeah. And Sean Finn was supposed to play Larry
and Benicio Doutoro was supposed to play Mo. Yes, yes, I swear. That was the original. No,
yes, yes, it was. There was actually a cover of Entertainment Weekly of it.
You guys can't even speak English correctly. While trying to say their childhood orphanage,
Mo, Larry and Curly inadvertently stumbled into a murder plot and wind up starring in a reality
TV show. This looks so. Mo is being played by a Chris D. M. and Toppillus. This looks so
horrid. There is, you probably will not find a better, a bigger three-stages fan in your life than me.
And there's some stuff they just don't have to remake. I mean, give it a, no, no, no, no.
Apparently as badly as I think this is going to fail. For your balance in for you.
As badly as I think this is going to fail with the fairly brothers, I think the project they've
got on their on their front burner after this has me in. I didn't put this on the on the run
sheet because they are doing a sequel to Demon Dumber. Have we waited too long, but that was a prequel.
Wait, they did two of them, but yeah, but have we waited too long? I don't know. I mean,
because it's it's painfully obvious that Jim Carrey needs something to inject life back into his
flagging career. And this is a movie that has been screamed for outside of the Ace Ventura franchise
and not by me. And well, because you weren't a fan of the first one anyway. I love the first one.
That was great. He didn't see it. Oh, that's a great movie. The first time you saw it wasn't
it at the Lakewood? No, no, no, I saw it in cable first. I thought you would like avoid it at
all together. No, I saw it in cable. Personally, I think it's probably the funniest thing of every
scene Jim Carrey make. Oh, yeah, totally. Better than the Ace Ventura. And I was watching that.
I'm not for me. In Wyoming. Not blasphemy. In Wyoming, I saw that in the theaters. That's how long
I go. But I was laughing. Yeah, I have not laughed that hard consistently in a movie since the first
naked gun. But I'm I'm I'm looking forward to this. I'm if if it's done correctly. So what I
and the remix though, it's just like foot loose. Why didn't I have to remake a remake? I think
they did. This is scratched. Yeah, Hollywood. It's like St. Panther. It doesn't. I don't believe
Julia and Jillian have as a high school. See, see, DVD and blue. I knew releases this coming
Tuesday. The before mentioned the Iron Lady, which I would like to see. The movie that came out
on Christmas about the alien invasion called the darkest hour. I think it by New Year's Eve. It
was gone. Yeah. Your latest release from WWE documentaries. You think you know me? The story
of Edge, which I've heard very, very good things about. I'm sure it'll be hopefully be on the
instant queue, so I can watch the documentary desk. The Emily Browning 2011 version of Sleeping
Beauty, which I don't know what's kind of creepy. Well, that seems to be the route they're going
and they're and we've already got another one of these sleeping beauty movies in the pipeline
with Maleficent Angelina Jolie's next project. And the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen.
Was Jack Daniels lined up from the did you not see this? Oh, it was funny. It was actually pretty
funny. It was brutal the last time. I think that's the last thing I saw Patrice O'Neil do.
Yeah. Yeah. I think I think that like that weekend we did a show and I think that's when we watched
Elephant the Room. Yeah. One of the funniest standard specials I've seen in a long time.
You are listening to the clubhouse. We are live each and every Saturday night at 8 o'clock
on the East Coast 5 on the West Coast. It is season 2 episode 38, which means we are slowly
but surely approaching episode 100 of the weekly show. We're in triple digits if you include
special edition, but and in that almost 100 episodes we've missed one week. Can't
beat that one a stick, sir. That was and there was a really good reason for that. Yes,
there was because it was Christmassy. So let us move on because we are your one stop shop for
all things sports and entertainment. Let's do a little bit of NBA news.
Not too much going on in the NBA this week. As we are getting ready to close up the 66 game season.
Although the Grizzlies have ended Miami 17 game home win streak. Thank you for that Memphis.
On the spurs now have a win streak of 10. So there's that. I don't find it unstoppable. Am I
reading this right? One last second. Somebody that took an inadvertent elbow to the head from
Milwaukee's John Brockman during Friday night. We have an Eduardo Naharov sighting. Really?
That's a local reference. Apparently he's playing for Charlotte.
Oh, there's that. Oh boy.
Have I mentioned I can't stand this song? I like this song.
I hear this in my freaking sleep. Let's do your standings right now in the NBA.
That horn riff that just keeps going and going. We have played 54 games of the 66 games season.
In the Eastern at length, Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. New Jersey. There's 11 and a half
games back. They are one and a half. They're a half game behind the Toronto Reptors.
New York Knicks. Two and a half games out there. One and a half games behind Philly Philly is one
game behind Boston right now. Philly is still in the hunt. Yeah. In the Central Division.
The Cleveland Cavaliers at 18 and 35 are 23 and a half games out of first place. So there's that.
Detroit. The bad boys are only two games better than them.
Six games better than them are the Milwaukee Bucks. Indiana now falls to eight and a half behind
Chicago who have clinched a playoff birth. And the sad part is about 23 back. It's in this
shorten season. Yeah. That's the mix it even worse. In the Southeast Division. These Charlotte
podcasts are 31 and a half games out of first place. But they are, but they're only three and a half
games behind the Washington Wizards. Orlando in the middle of the pack. They are seven and a half
games out there. One half game behind Atlanta. Atlanta now seven games behind Miami who has
clinched a playoff birth. Miami having some struggles on the road this year. They're 16 and 12,
but they are 23 and three at home. Geez. In the Western Conference, Northwest Division. Because
only none of these teams, maybe two of them are maybe all three of the five are in the Northwest.
The Minnesota Timberwolves 15 and a half games out. Remember the beginning of the season
that they were going to set the world on fire. That's much. Take the world set them on fire.
Portland is two games better than them. Utah in the middle of the pack 11 and a half back,
Denver, 10 games behind the team that will own this conference for the next five years
being the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the Pacific Division, Sacramento 15 and a half games out.
Remember when Sacramento was forced to be recognized? Oh, yeah. And now they're 19 and 36.
Golden State 13 games back. Phoenix is six and a half games back. The Clippers have now fallen a
game and a half behind the Lakers. And in your Southwest divisions, the New Orleans Hornets conflict
of interest. They are now 26 games out of first place with a whopping 14 and 41 record.
They are and they are 16 games behind the sorry Houston Rockets. Houston is a half game. Oh,
wow. Houston is a half game behind Dallas, sir. Oh, put that out there. Dallas is one game behind
Memphis. Memphis is eight and a half back of San Antonio. San Frickin Antonio. God, didn't see that
coming. Pop knows how to coach, man. That's all it is. If the playoffs started today, which they
were not, here's how it would line up in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks have the eighth spot
by one game over Milwaukee. Philly would be in the seventh spot right now.
Really? Yeah. And we have Orlando six, sorry, Orlando six Atlanta five Boston four, Indiana
third. Miami is right now three games behind Chicago for the one seed. In the Western Conference,
your eighth seed right now would be Denver. And Houston. Oh, wow. Houston was still be the
seventh seed. These Western Conference plus were terrible. Dallas right now would have to
succeed. They would face Memphis in the first round if the playoffs started today. The Memphis
Grizzlies would are in fifth. Clippers four. Really? Lakers three. Oklahoma City and San Antonio
are tied for the one seed right now. The tiebreaker right now would go to San Antonio if you didn't
believe that. In five years ago, no one saw Oklahoma being what they would be. No, no one
guessed that. Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant helped them build that team. Don't forget no one would see
the Clippers either. No, no. At this point, the Clippers are just playing to finish normally.
They're already on their their their that come straight from the golf course to the arena five minutes
before game time because it doesn't really come limping in just a still shaking off a hangover
from the night before. So another another 10 games and we are in the playoffs, my friends. NBA playoffs
get ready to fire up. Let us now go to a segment on this show we like to call a person of
interest. First of interest is a segment we do on this show where we take a person or an entity
and we discuss their greatness or lack thereof and this week the pendulum does swing back to check
and this is greatness. Don't just get me it is well this and there's a little bit of backstory
necessary to set this up and I'm going to have to heavily rely on you for this. So great. We're
the greatest stories in the history of sports because you didn't even know the story really. A story
of a comeback that is unparalleled in modern sports today. A story of a young man
who took a rag tag bunch of men and turned them into champions to no name men pretty much.
Actually, incorrectly name men as is the emphasis of the story.
So don't you don't know the story. So allow me to enlighten you. Please please. It is it is a story Disney has offered
to option this story. There are there is a battle for the rights to this story and and maybe
the movie will get made one day. I don't want my boots for this conversation. Would you cut to the chase
already. The year is certainly what we say 97 probably or 1980 like plastic. No, no, no, no, no, no.
We say 97 was that about thereabouts 96 97 maybe. I am in the Irving Texas area. All right.
At the at the home of friend of the show. Yeah. Got by the name of Mario Brito.
This isn't the PS1 days. Oh, there was a game. Was it revenge or was it versus the world.
It was WCW versus the world. It was one that had staying on the cover. After he had his hair cut.
All right. We decide we're going to do a four on four tag team elimination match. Well, since
Mario's on his home court, he takes all of the best guys. It's four and four. It's six on six.
I don't know. It's six on six. So he's like staying and he's got all the power players. He's
stacking the deck. So yeah. So I'm just I'm I'm I picked five guys and I don't have a sixth time.
I'm like, I don't even know like there's nobody left. So I just randomly picked this dude by the name
of Sam song. That is his name in the game. Okay. Sam song. Sam song. Not the electronic. First name
last name song. Not Sam song. No, Sam song. No, but this is we're going somewhere with this. So
the match begins. All right. About five minutes into the match. I am down to Sam song.
Okay. Oh, he is still at full strength. Oh, over the next 10 minutes. I win the match with
Sam song eliminating his entire team with one man. So you're six on one or four on one. So
six on one. Because it was on one in Sam song. Sam song by himself eliminates the entire other
team and what what can only be called as a herculean effort reserved for Hall of Fame numbers.
Like click plastic and Stallone films. Yeah. Now the point being he thought we all thought that
this was just a just a picture no wrestler, which is some some no name. No. That is one of the reasons
why I picked this guy as the P.O.I. Sam song is an actuality. New Japan pro wrestling multiple
champion. Kenta Kobashi. And this man is this man is hardcore. Make no mistake. Okay.
Because we finally figured out who he was. And Chad goes, dude, I found Sam song. Like Sam song is
not a real person. Yes, he is. He is. Look at this. You want to know one of his who one of his
trainers was. Who? Dory Funk name anything to you? Oh, yeah. There you go. Really? Yes, sir.
Train by Dory. Yes. I think we should rename him not Sam song, but just his full new name should
be Sam song, not Sam song. Sam song, not Sam song. Okay. Kenta was born March 27th, 1967.
He is currently under contract to pro wrestling Noah. He worked from all Japan for 1988 through 2000.
He is six foot one two hundred and fifty pounds. Practice judo and rugby during high school.
Practice bodybuilding after his graduation while working regular jobs. He applied and was
accepted to all Japan pro wrestling dojo on June 20th, 1987, where he was trained by giant
Baba Dory Funk Jr. Masanobu Fuchi and Kusa Haru Sonoda. They viewed as a professional wrestler
on February 26th, 1988. He lost his first 63 matches. All singles bounce. Yeah. But look how he won
his first match against the promotion that even in defeat the fiery charismatic Kobashi shine that
his gutsy never say die efforts earned him rookie of the year from the Japanese press. He won his
first match in May of 1989 against Mitch snow from Jim Crockett productions. Now look at the neck.
Now keep going. 1989 when the road warriors were in all Japan. They taught Kobayashi the road warrior
workout. He first gained some prominence as a member of missu. Mitsuharu's Mishawa's faction during
Mishawa's feet with jumbo Sonoda. Now there's there's a huge part of this that I was wanting to
tell Rob about when I picked him for POI. I'm like this guy held the tag titles the all Asia
and the world tag titles in new Japan with a tag team partner. Okay, here we go. I'm going to work
my way up to that. Yeah. Okay. All Japan unified world tag team championship six times.
Twice with Mitsuharu Misawa. Twice with Junaki Yama. The other two I'm going to hold on to.
He was eight. He has won the all Japan triple crown heavyweight championship three times.
He has won world strongest tag team with Mitsuharu Misuyawa and with Junaki Yama. He is a one night
six man tag tournament champion. He is also the eight the all Japan all Asia tag team champion
four times with Tiger Mask 2 and the Mitsuharu Misawa and Tishoki Kichu. All those watching
years of watching manga has really paid off. Now the the title challenge that he got in in
95 though if you read about this thing is 16-minute match that has gone down in history as the
greatest 60-minute bout and wrestling history by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He's won
match of the year nine. Yes. I mean this tag team of the year three times. Restful of the year
twice. Rookie of the year of course once. He's got my god. Uh-huh. One two. Okay 90. Okay,
one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen sixteen
eighteen nineteen twenty twenty two twenty three five star matches from the Wrestling Observer.
Best box office draw of two thousand five match of the year six times from the from the
Wrestling Observer. Best Wrestling maneuver for the burning hammer. Thank god Doc's not here.
Most improved wrestler. Most outstanding wrestler twice. Tag team of the year twice.
Restler of the year three times and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame Class 2002.
Now he was also in Harley race his world league wrestling promotion. He's been in ring of honor.
He defeated Samoa Joe. But I think one of the most important aspects about this guy is important
or funny. Huh? No. We're talking about two different things. Yeah. Important is he faced and
defeated one of the most insurmountable opponents anybody can face and came back and kept wrestling.
He beat cancer. Wow. Wow. Now on the other side of that coin he is a four-time tag champion with
one Johnny Ace. Also known as John Laurenitis. I wanted to tell Rob that so bad I'm like I'm
gonna wait. I'm saving this. You're the best. Could not. When I saw that I'm like you have
got to be joking. People power. It's all I'm saying. You're simply the best.
So when we always say great greatness, yeah, your name. Greatness. There's no way there's
this. Well, when you text me with this and you tell me who that was, I said greatness. There's
need to be a discussion. The man's great. Period. Cause he said I'm song. That's all I need to know.
But whatever. When I saw who his tag team partner was I'm like oh my god. I used to wrestle
was a song. So there you go. Where's my charitable. Sometimes somebody has to carry a tag team.
That's all I'm saying. Kenta Kobashi. Sir, we put you in the category of greatness and we have
for a decade and a half now. And we didn't even know why exactly. We didn't know there was
there was as many reasons as there were and we apologize for John Laurenitis. It's okay.
So next week P.O.I. is me. And what did I say we were doing? The P.O.I. Yeah.
Lineups. Lineups. Campouts. Lineups. Campouts. Okay. Good.
All right. Let's do a little NHL talk.
Actually, I really don't even want to talk about it.
Cause I know where my eyes wound up. Seasons over this weekend, sir.
It's over for them already. Yeah. But let's talk about your standings as we are preparing for
the playoffs Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The New York Islanders with 79 points are 30
points out of first place. Worst in the league. Not yet, my friend. They are 29 points behind
New Jersey. New Jersey has now four of the five teams in the Atlantic Division have clinched
playoff spots. Yeah. New Jersey with 102 points. Philadelphia with 103 points. Pittsburgh with
106 points. And the Rangers with 109 points all have clinched playoff first. The Rangers have
clinched the division. The Northeast Division, the Montreal, Canadians. Thank you. With 76 points,
our four points behind the Toronto Maple Leaps Buffalo right in the middle of the pack with 88 points.
There are four points behind Odorwa. Odorwa is eight points behind John's beloved Boston
Bruins. Both Boston and Odorwa have clinched playoff spots. Of course, in the Southeast Division.
The Carolina Panthers with 82 points. Worst in the league. Not yet, my friend. They are tied with
my Tampa Bay Lightning who are one point behind the winner peg Jets. Winner peg is seven points behind
the Ovechkins and the Ovechkins are two points behind Florida. Both of those two teams, the Ovechkins
and the Panthers have clinched playoff spots. In the Western Conference. Northwest Division,
the Edmonton Oilers with 74 points are bringing up the rear. Worst in the league. Not yet, my friend.
They are seven points behind Minnesota. The Wild are seven points behind both Calgary and Colorado.
Both of those teams are 11 points behind Vancouver who have clinched the division. Vancouver has
109 points. They are tied with the Rangers for the most points in the league right now.
I'm still picking my pens to go. In the Pacific Division. Anaheim has 80 points. Worst in the
league. Not yet, my friends. They are eight. They are nine points behind your stars, which means they
are out of it. Because San Jose, Los Angeles and Phoenix have all clinched playoff spots,
but Phoenix has not yet clinched the division because they are only one point ahead of both L.A.
and San Jose. We now go to the Central Division to play everyone's favorite game. How far behind
the Chicago Blackhawks are the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus currently worst in the league with 63
points as they are 28 46 and seven. So Chad, I asked you the question. How many points behind
the Chicago Blackhawks are the Columbus Blue Jackets. 38. Is this your final answer? Yeah. Done?
It's a 20. It's a 50. I'm accusing you of cheating, sir. No. They are 38 points. Wow.
Because it's always been hovering around 36, 37, 38. Columbus has 63 points. Chicago has 101 points.
They are one point behind both Detroit and Nashville who have clinched playoff spots and the
St. Louis Blues have 107 points. They've scored 207 goals and given up 163. In contrast, Columbus has scored
195 goals and given up 250. But you know what? Sad Columbus is last 10? 6-4-0. Little late to be turning
on the heat now. Stanley Cupplabs getting ready to fire up. Let's take a look at the lineups.
Right now, as it stands in the Eastern Conference, the Ovechkins had the 8C.
7-0-0, 6-0-0 Jersey. 5-0-4 Pittsburgh. 3-0-4-0 to Boston and won the Rangers in the Western
Conference. 8. San Jose and Dallas missed it by five points. San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago
Detroit, Nashville, Phoenix, St. Louis, and Vancouver. Believe me, when the stars are out,
I hitch my wagon to your team there. So Vancouver has pulled into the lead by two points.
That's two years in a row now that the stars have made playoffs. They had a really good run
in the show, too. Yeah, they did. They started strong. They just fizzled. You never know,
Nisaki. Plus the playoffs, I think it's still too long. Let us get to the, what could be probably
the longest segment on the show tonight. I don't think it's going to be a could be. I think it's
going to be a is. We're going to do some wrestling talk. Not just some, a lot of wrestling talk.
Two pages worth because this is the clubhouse. We are your one-stop shop for all things sports
and entertainment. Follow this show on Facebook at the clubhouse podcast. Follow the show on Twitter
at Clubhouse Show. Follow me on Twitter. Yes, that robber of an ERVIN. I am at Chad NPG 69.
And I'm on Facebook. Show the bugger on Pinterest. You know, if the one thing, you know, given that we're
still just feeling the fallout of WrestleMania, we'd have enough to talk about just with WrestleMania,
but all this other stuff happened alongside it too. First of all, great job by the city of Miami.
Yes, Dolphin Stadium has not looked that great years.
Although they did have to receive a bunch of people because they were having an obstructed
view through the fake palm trees. Did you see these pictures? Yeah, I saw it and the thing is,
did they actually sell out? I don't believe so. I don't think they could have, because then it
wouldn't have anywhere to move these people. It was over 70,000 people though. I heard it wasn't a
sellout. If you looked on the top, there was open, some open seating on the very top there.
They said an attendance record, but not at all time. For a live stadium. Yeah.
The card starts out with 18 seconds of Daniel Bryan and Sheamus, a major title match that
latched him. Yeah. I mean, literally, you turned your back to the screen. You were talking to
somebody around you. You turned back around and you're like, huh? What? Huh? Well, Don was sitting
right next to us. He actually timed the match. It was actually 17.8 seconds.
No 18.7. I 18.7. Yeah. 18.7. For the tiebreaker on the, and that tiebreaker, I didn't even come close.
I put 18 minutes. I like 28 minutes. I'll ever put 18 minutes.
Highlights from the card. Of course, Helen, the cell. Good night.
It was for a match that I was out. I was out. I was out. And then those sons again stuck me in
great match match of the year contender and Charles Robinson showed up, which was awesome.
You had you had everything you could possibly want in that match. Absolutely. And the fact that
they put it on at the end of the first hour before the 12 man match. When I checked in to get glue,
I'm like, we're doing this match now. Yeah. I'll tell you why. In my opinion, I think that when I saw
the HPK Undertaker match, the first one at WrestleMania, right? When 20, 25, 25, yeah.
And that crowd was so into it. We were just, oh my god. Oh my god. And you were actually there.
I was there at the reliant stadium in Houston. Okay. And you can really see it on this video,
but there you undertake your HPK. I mean, the whole crowd, all 70,000, whatever people there,
going nuts. And then the next match was the triple A Jordan. Everyone's asleep.
They were so worn out. And I think they wanted to put a break that kind of let the people
revive for the scene. That's exactly what happened. I think it sucked a life out of the room.
I mean, after that, to see the punch Jericho takes 10 minutes for the crowd to finally get back into
it. You have a problem. Yeah. But that match just wasn't, it didn't, it didn't generate enough
electricity. But it was going. It was a great match. Yeah.
Cena Rock started out very slow. The first 10 minutes, I was like, is this a resthold
Mania 28? Yeah. Just imagine the crowd. They would put that hell in the cell right before
the scene. The crowd would be out of it. And they didn't want that. I just, before, before
any divas match, come on. You know, I think I still say it was way too early in that,
in that card because, you know, just like, you have to go out and follow that.
Divas match, I believe I called that. Yeah. Maria Maninos gets the pin. It's just the rule.
Orton Kane. Nobody cared. Snorfest. Nobody cared. That's a dark match for
WrestleMania at best. Yeah. We can't get a tag that might even, that might even mid card
capital punishment. The tag team actually was the dark match. No, I'm saying we got to get it,
that gets really get it to dark match status. But you get an 18 second World Heavyweight title
match and the snooze fest that was Randy and Kane. And what I heard is that some people are saying
that they made that match short to kind of solidify the bro kick as a finishing move and try to
shock the crowd. I don't think it solidified anything. And a lot of us, I think we're shocked that
punk retained. I wasn't, I picked, I picked punk. Did you? Yeah. Because I really thought punk
would lose it and then get it back and then get it back in Chicago. It just made sense to me.
I just, the one thing I wanted to, I just remember looking over at you during the takeer match,
going, I'm in Miami right now. Yeah. This room is Miami. The whole crowd. Yeah. Just like to
see the match. That roof almost came off that building that we ran there. And people are standing
the whole match from that scene of match. That was unreal. As, as, as, as hot as that room has
gotten, not temperature wise, but just the, just, yeah, just, just, just fan heat. Yeah. I've never
said anything like that. That whole building was rumbling. And that's why I go. Yeah, I want to save
money because economically, you why pay 60 bucks and sit at home. Right. When you consider one of
a bunch of people just, just, just into it as you are. And it makes you feel like you're there. And
you can get somebody to eat and still pay half of what you paid just for the paper. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah.
I mean, my mind was, food is amazing. Yeah. My mind was blown during the whole experience. I
mean, I just remember looking at you and I remember putting on my Facebook page. This is why I watch. Yeah.
Now, now that we've been through the experience, it's six days later, grade the card now.
See, for WrestleMania, overall, pay per view, I give it a B. I gave it a B, but it wound up being a C
because of the way that drag at the last time I gave it a B minus I am upgrading it to a B plus.
Really? Because best WrestleMania since 20. Oh, yeah. And by that standard, I have to, I have to
upgrade it because it was just carried by that one match. Now, did you also hear that there's a lot
of people on creative that are hacked right now over what only haze and two other people were
invited to the post WrestleMania party. None of the rest of creative was.
And there were some of the wrestlers were narrowly because the bus one took a wrong turn.
Wow. Miami. So what happened there? Don't know. I read that today. How many of the rest of you
guys gonna go? Well, it makes you wonder who booked what?
What are you saying? Maybe, maybe the people that got invited are the people that booked the
matches that just went over big. Well, Hell and a Cell, apparently, we read earlier this week that
Triple H taker and HBK put a lot of pressure on the brass to get JR to call that match.
That is cool as heck. It's more taker too. Well, I'm sure. I'm sure. And I'm glad he did.
I am too. Even though you couldn't hear yourself thinking this in that room.
Charleston, she gave it a B minus. I'm still trying to get over the evil clone version of JR
with the go-t, but we were supposed to have money in the bank, but it did not happen because
Wade Barrett was supposed to be booked to win it. And he was not ready to come back.
Oh, I got that elbow of thing. So now we're saying now that we're going to do money to bank
at Summerslam. I guess we're he's still booked to win it. So spoiler alert for the next four months.
Does it worth it?
For Barrett. I mean, why don't they just put it in?
You know, it's a way to elevate him because money to bank is an incredible part, I think,
of the WWE creative. How do you and why do you want to continue to elevate a guy that he
already had that monster push with a whole NXT angle? And after that, after that fizzled out,
and then the scene around and I don't believe in this guy. I just don't. Somebody does.
Somebody obviously does, but I don't. He doesn't. I'm not convinced.
Playing for the company, the company is looking. We have to have some long-term people.
We have to build the be the long-term new because John Cena will be wrestling someday.
But Barrett, you're going to hit your wagons to Barrett? I don't think so.
Yeah, I'm not the one. I would quicker to hitch my wagon to Daniel Bryan.
Somebody of that ilk, who's young, who's energetic, but not Barrett.
And now I got the fan following too. I mean, Miami, I mean, all shows this week.
There's like a Daniel Bryan muffler.
Our deepest condolences go to the family and friends of Chief Jay Strongbow,
who passed away on Monday. They did a really nice video package for him on SmackDown last night.
They did. They narrated it in everything. Did a great job on that. I was very impressed.
And it was long too. It was probably been three minutes. It was a good side.
It was still going on the evening. I haven't watched it yet. I've definitely got to watch it now.
Then there's this next story. You talk about coming out of nowhere. As Maven is arrested,
Maven the original winner of Tough Enough, arrested for trying to go to multiple doctors to get
oxy-cotin. And when he was arrested, had a thousand pills in his possession. Right now,
he's looking at five years in prison. WWE has reached out to him and said, we will help you because
remember a couple of years ago, Vince said, any current or future or past WWE superstar,
if you need to go to rehab, we will pay for it. There has been no word as if he has accepted
the offer yet or what? Maven, get yourself help, brother. He needs more than rehab.
Nine years of lawyer. If he's the first time offender, he'll probably get probation on it.
Looking at five years in prison, I mean up to five years. That's like like DWI,
you look up to six months in prison on a DWI here in Texas, but most people get probation.
So I texted Chad the other day and I said, you're probably going to want to skip raw on Monday.
And he said, why? And I said, because he was guest host, and he goes, is it Will Ferrell? And I said,
no. God, no.
The new three studios will be hosting Raw this Monday night.
That was me bashing my head again. This movie is going to make a bucket of half worldwide.
I hope so. Actually, no, I think it's $1.49 more than I want it to make.
Well, there's just have David Arcad become champion again.
I hear this. I think boomer sooner. I just do.
I hate this version of this. I hate this remade version of this theme.
That sounds so stupid. Also, three hour raw super shows are scheduled for April 23rd and June 11th.
June 11th will be the go home show for what is now no way out.
So I guess maybe bragging rights is now in July because bragging rights was supposed to be June.
Yeah. I got rid of money in the bank, which is.
Yeah, I've also announced that survivor series will be in Pittsburgh.
There you go. You have content. Is that the, is that the, is that the console?
And actually, yeah, that's where the penguins play. My dad, since I was born, his first job,
real job after college was to work for console energy, which was console coal,
which is now console energy, which they're the, where my dad works on Pittsburgh and the big building
there for console. The, the pens, trainings, uh, rink is probably about half mile down the road there.
And actually, the pens when they built the agreement and they went the cup actually came out with the
cup to the console and should have. Oh, wow. Yeah. And they got a good deal on it. I guess they
could pay only paid about 30 million to put their name on that arena. And that's it. That's not
bad for name rights. Let's do a little raw talk. First and foremost, congratulations to the city
of Miami. Again, my god, that crowd was on fire. You were the 12th man in on raw, unbelievable.
They, I mean, when I, I've never seen a post-Russell Mania crowd much less any crowd that hot. Yeah,
he, and we pride ourselves in this town and Dallas of being one of the places to do a live show.
Brother, we had nothing on Miami. Yeah, he, he called me when he was leaving work because he works
night. And I told my second share and I told him I said, dude, you are not going to believe the crowd
on raw tonight. And he's, and he's like, what do you mean? I'm like, they literally are participating
in this raw. They are a huge part of the ebb and flow of this show.
And what were they thinking in the back? Because, you know, WWE tries to control the people's mood.
Or they think it in the back is my question. It's like rocking starts the show and my notes just say
still the best plain and damn simple. Yeah, all bets were all buddy can cut a promo like that man.
Cody and I were talking about this on Tuesday and he said, you know,
and I, I can't say I don't, I don't disagree with him.
Rock has kind of elevated himself almost with where he's above Austin now. Most overs,
they're almost over superstar. I can't, I can't, in the last 20 years.
Now, maybe it was because he was in Miami by my, God, he had that entire town in the
palm. I think that's had a lot of, because he and I talked about this in Lincoln. I was like,
you put Austin in that chair and Austin's just as over as rock is. So here's a question.
As Vicki is introducing Swagger and Dolph Ziegler, is she developing Dolph Ziegler's list?
Excuse me. Excuse me. I'm telling you, listen to her. She's got a list now and I don't know why.
I don't know if I just haven't noticed it before or I'm just like,
because I like I even rewound it. I was like, did she just inject Swagger?
It's swagger. Do you think maybe like they maybe one of those guys fell out of the
Reynolds family tree or something? If you will. Because every one of them talk like that.
And so, uh, if they're missing a Santino survives the handicap match,
what a shocker. It starts to get chased up the ramp and then we hear this.
And by the way, I did get this at WrestleMania. So I'm happy.
I'm not even going to talk about that. Mama and the bridge club were also so stupid.
Yeah, no take team model that no take team title match or media show and let's get five minutes
of this. And plus a rap concert where most people went to the bathroom or went to sleep.
So Santino and Brody's flag is going to be a tag team now. Can you see it?
Santino source? Yes.
I can see it. I mean, what I mean, what else did you say?
He texted me Santino source. I'm like, that's got a good ring to it.
Yeah, and there's a funcatino. Fuckatino.
I don't know. Santino source just has a really cool.
I mean, they always got to put him with somebody that's a fun-loving goofball and who's a
bigger fun-loving goofball than this guy. That's still like Santino. I like this character.
Oh, yeah, I'm put up talking about
Brody's being the fun-loving goofball. Yeah, I can see him as a good tag team.
You'll get the crowd happy. You'll get him jumpy. And it's a little dance routine.
And we had the premiere of Lord Tenside. And how I could think of was, man, I don't care.
I'm already got him downloaded in WWE 12. Somebody made a perfect, perfect recreation of him.
But if you watch that match closely, they put the camera on him at the wrong time at the end.
And you actually saw him put the tablet in his mouth before he spit all the crap out of it.
And he looks like, like, he looks like Tito Ortiz ate another dude.
Are those real tattoos over the face? It's my question. I don't know. There's no way.
You never know. Some people do some funky stuff.
Boogie Man did punch out his own teeth. So, well, maybe Prince Albert ate Tito Ortiz.
And that's the result. There you go.
Then you had the punk Mark Henry match that was the match really that?
Did I have that much interest in that match? Or was it just the crowd carry that match?
The crowd carried the entire match. I mean, I was actually entertained by that match.
Because of, I mean, again, the crowd being the 12th man, they brought an energy to that show
that they better pray they can keep recapturing.
Well, they're going to be in Batista's hometown at DC this Monday.
I want to happen.
No, there's no way. There's no way this upcoming raw is anything compared to what this last
raw was because of the crowd. I do want to recognize what things entertain me.
I want to enter. I want to send a shout out to a couple of people that were at raw Monday night.
Two of those entertaining signs I see in the long time.
More so than the yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, signs are WrestleMania.
Yes, because one of them said Randy Orton is an anagram of I look like a slim gym with a face.
Which I thought was funny.
But even better yet. And I actually had to pause this so I can make sure I had this sign right.
There was a sign in the crowd that literally had the following written on it.
Sir, I can feel distressed that we are not booing you because of your effective heel work.
We are booing because you are simply awful. That was all on one time.
I saw one. I don't know if you caught this.
You know how popularly the guy behind me can't see signs.
Yes, yes. Did you see the one that was the head the entire center of the board was cut out?
Am I the guy behind me can actually see?
I thought you were going to mention that one. I'm like that is that's genius.
That's that's good time.
And I saw one glimpse of one where guy was holding scene a fam pointing down.
And there's only because they tried it and that you know.
Right. And there's a guy next to him with the sign with the arrow pointed at him.
The guy next to him said virgin.
Well played well played.
Not coming to what 50 yes signs and that was funny.
But you know I didn't see sign guy WrestleMania.
No, I didn't either.
Rick.
Yeah, I didn't see him there.
You knew he had to have been there.
He might have been in the next room.
No, I mean he had to have been in Miami.
He had to.
He was talking on a song because he comes to the Fox and Hound every once in a while.
Right, right.
We're trying to get him on the show.
All right, okay.
But he was saying you know he was baiting at the time I saw him at the last paper view.
He wasn't still in or not because of the cost.
Yeah.
I mean, Erlin's great.
Very nice guy.
Yeah, very nice.
Then we get to the end of the show.
I have never seen a scene a promo come up that short.
I mean, I've seen seen a bomb, but I've never seen it.
But then I realized why that promo came up so short.
If you notice seen it when you cut a promo, you don't have an earpiece in your like the
referees do.
So the people in the back can't tell you what's going on, right?
Sina was literally trying to stretch time because we all know that he was waiting for this.
And I came unglued when I heard that the Lesnar appearance which we thought would happen
in WrestleMania, but they waited until the next night.
Lesnar didn't get to the arena until 60 seconds before his music hit.
That's kind of what I figured.
So what I realized now is he was just stretching the promo because he was waiting for the music.
Lesnar signs for one year, $5 million for 30 to 40 appearances.
From what I've seen there, breaking it down to where it's like two appearances a month
with more possibly leading up to the build up of WrestleMania next year.
So here's how I would have done that because the way to me, the way that was booked was terrible.
Yeah, because I would have had Rocky in the ring.
So that way when Lesnar shows up, you don't know which way he's going to go.
When he came out, you knew he was fixing to F5 John Cena.
If for no other reason, he is the reason that Cena's finisher is called the FU.
That is documented fast.
Oh, and backing up here on the whole punk thing.
Whenever Lauren Otis said, I've seen a lot of natural disasters in your future.
A lot of people were speculating, well, his is called the F5.
Maybe Lauren Otis is going to take turn Lesnar on punk.
No, I think one of the rumors on that is the Tonsai.
Tonsai, actually translates to disasters, you know.
And he might be a henchman for John, Lauren Otis.
Joy.
Who knows?
But I wrote down here that Lesnar just looks odd because he's got in shape.
Especially I saw some old pictures of him because he's been out of the WWE as long as Rocky has.
This is his first appearance in 8 years.
And I was just like, man.
How did Vince look at him and go?
Yeah, let's do this.
Because apparently the $5 million offer was on the table when he was still under contract UFC.
I mean, he don't look even half as good as he did whenever he fought back in December.
He looks completely out of shape.
Yeah.
And with his dive particular, I just think is $5 million is a lot of money to take on this guy.
It's a risk.
I want it to be good because I want it to something different and something that we need.
But man, but we remember what happened with him and Gover.
And that scares that place exploded.
Oh, I went for a guy that peed all over this industry like he did and his fans.
That place.
I mean, when they're chanting we want Lesnar, I mean, it was just, you know,
they wanted Lesnar because they wanted somebody to crush Cena at any given.
I mean, out of the Go Home Loser chant.
Yeah, yeah.
We'll do a little bit of impact talk.
TNA does sign a new multi-year deal with Spike TV because God knows there's nothing else on that channel.
Do you realize they've been there seven years?
No, not until, not until you mentioned it.
I read that in the store.
I was like, man, it's been that long with this mediocre project that's been on that channel.
And it's still somehow keeping its head above water.
I heard about what happened with Steiner this week.
Please elaborate on that because I kind of glossed over that.
It's not really much to elaborate on.
They let him go because I know he ran his mouth.
Yeah.
He did the same thing that he did the last time.
You know, he'll run a company down whenever they let him go and says what did he say?
He left WCW or whatever his last association was to help.
No, it was this one.
He said he left to help save it.
I'm like, yeah, sure, Scotty.
I'm sure that's why you're gone.
Still not half as talented as his brother.
No.
So of course you tell him that he'll argue with you to the face.
Well, he can't because he only knows four words.
Have you seen Engels and Trunks?
No.
It's his name written, but it's supposed to look like the Olympic rings.
So A is at the top left and then N is just to the right below that, okay?
But the problem is the N and the L are very light in color.
So when you, for the first three weeks, I saw his Trunks because I didn't know
that's what they were going for.
It looked like it just said age.
So what are the N and the G like gold or white or something?
Yeah, okay.
Because the bottom two rings on the Olympic rings are those questions.
And I was just like, is it?
Am I the only one seeing this?
It says age on his Trunks because that's funny.
I don't care who you are.
But again, I'm almost with the guy.
And I want to sidetrack you just a little bit.
Last week, I met church.
And normally our senior pastor, which to show you how young my church is,
my senior pastor is five years younger than me.
But he's great.
Big fit.
I love new community church.
Wonderful place.
Great, great message.
Great people.
Normally he has us go around.
You know, I want you to take six people and then shake your hands and introduce yourself to him.
You know, they do that in the beginning of the service.
Last week, he goes, I want you to find six people and high five them.
And I was like, it's kind of odd.
Go through the rest of my day.
Go through WrestleMania.
Get home.
And I'm, you know, I've retired to my bed.
I'm laying there and I go, so just hit me.
Did he just have this high five, six people because it was Palm Sunday?
I haven't had a chance to ask him yet.
But if he did, that man's genius.
Possibly.
Austin Aries.
Say what you want.
That man is a genius.
What are you doing now?
Do you miss, you miss impact?
I don't do.
Bill Bully raised,
Bumble raised in the ring run in his mouth.
Outcomes Austin Aries.
And Bumble is still running his mouth.
People are going, he's going,
for like 45 seconds.
And he finally gets everybody calm down.
And then it's Bumble with the microphone.
I like that man's a genius.
I don't care.
I got to find that somewhere.
It was very, very funny.
So when you can catch me off guard,
you're doing pretty well.
So you're one of the 50 people that watch impact?
I do it for the show.
I do it for the show.
Plus it's thing.
Yeah, of course.
We'll go see Sting this summer.
I'm hoping.
God, I'm hoping he's there.
Because it'll be the third time I've gone to a show
that he was involved with and him not be there.
If he's not.
Oh, we had a knockout challenge.
There were six knockouts that were vying for the number one contendership
for Gil Kim's knockouts title at lockdown,
which is a week from tomorrow.
But here's how it went.
You would think, okay,
kind of a six woman free for all,
like a six threat, I guess you could call it, right?
There were only two allowed in the ring at the time, at a time.
Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
I was like, what the crap am I watching right now?
Or did I just answer my own question?
You just answered your own question.
Velvet wins.
She's the number one contender and she's hot.
Welcome back to these guys.
The Motor City Machine Guns make their return as Chris Sabin
and they look great.
Sabin looks like he hasn't lost a step.
No ring rust there at all.
Very impressed with him.
I just hope we don't split these guys out.
Because right now with beer money gone,
they are the best tag team in the business.
So what is the verdict on beer money?
Well, they're wrestling each other at lockdown.
So literally, it's just done.
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
And I'll tell you something that's really made me sad
as I'm watching impact.
Well, that alone made me sad.
I never, I'm about to say something
that if you said this to me 10 years ago,
I will call you a dirty, filthy liar
and tell you to leave my house.
That's your lord.
You ever think you'd see the day
where flair would be fish offs Latin?
Yes.
I never thought I'd see that day.
I never thought I'd live to see the day where I'd see flair B.
Triple H is lacking.
I'll take that over this.
Given the history that these two individuals have,
he's desperate for cash.
Well, the rumors I'm hearing
has said he is slated to return to his next year.
13.
Flair?
Yeah.
Yes.
Not in non-wrestling thing,
like a manager or a healer.
On screen or is he just, on screen?
On screen.
Oh gosh.
Come back as the,
like he wouldn't originally came back
with chip triple H's lackey.
And now he's going to come back as,
you know, it's something else.
I don't know.
But he is rumors are saying he's going to rejoin the WWE next year.
But again, well, I'll be gone because the mines at the world's minute.
Let's move on to a little bit of, uh,
smacking of the down.
Interesting news coming out of Hollywood,
as Orton is now out of the Marine 3.
I was wondering if this would come up.
Apparently he was in the Marines.
He was discharged unhonourable.
Is that what they call that?
Dishonorable.
Dishonorable.
Dishonorable, I don't remember.
Uh, he went AWOL at one point.
He did serve time for it twice, twice, twice.
And so they've pulled him from the film.
And this was all covered on WWE confidential back in the day.
And the United States Marine Corps actually released a press statement
thanking WWE for doing this.
There have been a lot of names thrown around as to who's now going to be in this movie.
You would be surprised with some of the names that have been thrown out.
Such as JTG.
Gio.
Gio.
No, no, no, no.
You think the Marine Corps is on the spot?
Can you pick that phone back up?
I like JTG.
I think we'd rather have Orton playing the JTG.
But they said that a little Jimmy possibly.
I don't think I don't think Kate Quick's been named.
But uh,
Cena's name has been thrown back in.
But there's good nobody yet.
I mean, I congratulations to them for doing the right thing.
Whether you like Randy Orton or not, I mean that
I wonder if they've reached out to the rock.
And he said, you know what, guys, even I have some standards.
I did the tooth fairy and the game plan.
Game plan wasn't awful, the tooth fairy.
That was an awful idea from the get-go.
I'm surprised I haven't asked Cody Rhodes to do it.
Okay.
I am no fashion expert.
Now you haven't watched this shit.
Don't have you watched SmackDown.
Yeah, okay.
We leave the fashion to the lovely and talented Kelly Hines
friend of the show in Tulsa World.
But what in the name of all things good and holy was David O'Tongal wearing?
I just...
It was like a petty coat but didn't have sleeves because there were slashes in this side of it
that he stuck his arms out of and it was like a burgundy color.
It's very very strange.
And don't forget about the coffee cup, too.
Did he pull an outfit out of the wrong closet at his house?
I don't know what happened there.
Yeah, then he goes to wrestle the first match in the, you know,
well, so now he had to do that.
But this whole people-powered thing, is this 1975?
It's up with people.
Yeah.
It's people-powered!
And the way...
Here's what happens.
Teddy Long comes out.
And Teddy Long says, hey, since I don't work anymore, I can tell you to go to hell.
And Laura, and so I'm thinking,
how are we going to turn him in?
Because we're going to turn him into, to Laura and I says,
somehow, some life.
So here's what they do.
Very creative.
Very creative.
I disagree.
I was joking on this.
I'm not saying you were sarcastic, I'm just being a farceezus.
Your tongue should be very firmly planted in your cheek at this point.
Hey, Teddy.
We look at the paperwork.
And as a WWE employee,
your grandkids are, I have a college fund set up.
But if you leave,
that college fund goes away.
I'm like, is this HPK JBL all over again?
No.
I'm like, really?
This is what we're going with.
I was like, Teddy Long, you are better than this, sir.
The creatives should be better than that.
They prove in time and time again as they are.
It's an all new low.
The grandkids trust fund.
Because really?
For college.
Because supposedly the contract said Smackdown GM.
So now the Smackdown GM.
So now he had to say that John Lornais was better than him.
Oh God.
So just kind of fast forward on your DVR, the first 20 days.
Anytime I see Lornais on my screen, that's the first thing I do.
Can't stay.
Then we had a rematch with Randy Orton and Kane that went right after it.
Because it was a handicap match of Mark Henry and David O'Tonga.
Versus.
Well, Jimmy, our true.
I mean, that there was a bell and here comes Kane.
Okay, we're going to the match.
It was a no DQ match.
So I guess that's why Orton job the WrestleMania.
So he could win on Smackdown.
Oh, that makes complete sense.
That was me being sarcastic this time.
See how I did that?
See what I did there?
Then we see a new character by the name of Ryback.
As in Steven Segal's character and under siege.
No, that was Casey Ryback.
Nice try though.
And the only reason I know this is I looked at it on Wikipedia.
It's Skip Sheffield.
Who?
The ball guy from NXT that was from A&M.
For season one there, whatever.
The real like really big ball guy.
Yeah, and he was about what, 220.
He's on the guy is about a buck 60.
I'm like, that's Skip Sheffield.
They didn't even like put hair on him,
or he just put different trunks on it.
Well, look at friggin' Lorton side.
If I, if they put the tattoos in the bottom and shaved up the hair a little bit.
But he's still his tattoos and piercings are like,
Oh, yeah, that's a, yeah, nevermind.
Again, WWE.
Whatever.
Here's a question.
I, I gotta give some love to Daniel Bryan.
How does he not giggle every time that yes chance starts?
Because it's just recently started.
But still like, and whenever it fires up the man,
the way that man can keep a straight face.
And stay in heal mode because I'd be like,
That's the coolest thing ever.
Well, keep mind you, like, can't add it.
They do some editing too.
They have three days, edit it out.
Do you have a question over here, Slater?
How can you be a one man Southern rock band if you're from West Virginia?
I, I mean, West Virginia does have Southern-esque qualities to it.
Don't get me wrong.
I'm not very, they're very hick-ish.
I've been to West Virginia.
I'm just saying.
Still working that out in therapy.
Yeah, it's high.
I'm working on eternal sunshine.
The spot was mine for that.
I'm amazed that he was actually able to show up for Smackdown
after getting shoved through that wall by Florida.
God, Lee, that was brutal.
That was one of the biggest bumps of the night.
Well, at least he got to be in WrestleMania.
No, I think TV, yeah.
I want to say, Florida might have been prison flashback
or something with that show.
That like, slow your roll there, speed racer.
And apparently this deadliest catch crossover thing is going to get worse.
Oh, no.
They have signed a deal to cross promote with WWE.
The only thing that really got me in that segment was
watching Santino's play go fly on with Bronson.
I'd like to kill him.
I do want to give some love.
They were in, they were in Orlando.
There were five guys in the front row.
And I think we've seen them before, haven't we?
Yeah, yeah, I can't remember.
There's five guys sitting in the front row.
They were ringside just off to the right of the ring.
They're right there in the corner.
They're all wearing referee shirts.
And they're all wearing WWE referee shirts.
And every time a ref goes to count, they're right there with them on the rail.
And if there was a kick out, they'd all hold up two fingers to turn around to the crowd.
Wow, that's committing to the bid.
That's funny enough.
But when the pin happened, they'd hit the three and they do the big shake pointy thing
at the bell, you're carrying the bell.
Wow, at the same time.
That alone is a great reason to watch Smackdown from last night.
I thought myself watching them more than I was watching them from that.
But fast forward through the Joe Munoz.
Don't worry.
That's great.
That's the genius.
That's better than a sign.
That's better than a good sign.
Did you see at the end of the show when the ref got it by Shamus?
I mean, oh, yeah.
Oh, apparently he's been quote unquote fine.
I don't know, but I'm talking about the refs in the crowd.
They all went like they got to sit there really.
They were.
Wow, these guys are like, have a symbiotic mind centers.
Charlotte says, I think she's talking about Ryback.
She says he looks like Doc.
Oh, no, don't tell Doc that.
Uh, he does kind of look like Doc.
And then we had this new another new character, Damien Sennau.
I'm like, who is he looks like the guy?
He looks like he's more like that character.
He's the new Steven Riegel.
I mean, William Riegel, I mean, William Riegel.
He's the new guy.
Same guy, I'll give you credit.
Yeah, it's kind of the formal, educated, per, you know,
it's William Riegel part two is what this is.
I think more like him or is he more like the personality traits of being formal.
He comes in and starts talking.
We just have great entertainment days of Shakespeare and Mozart.
Now it's to Bumbling Housewives.
If he comes out in a bow time,
starts calling people a plebeian,
then he's we're going to have to get bogged back when they have to cook,
you know, put him in a chicken, chicken face,
cross wing, whatever they can call it.
When I watch the thing in the end, I go,
that's William Riegel part two, you know, or the genius.
He looks like they do that plays Raffi on the league.
With his hair slicked, I don't want to leave.
Trust me, that's what it looks like.
When you see it, that's what you look like.
Okay.
And we do have to give one credit to it to assign in the crowd.
Del Rio shows up and somebody actually had a sign behind him in the crowd that said,
Alberto lives in a van down by Del Rio.
Oh, man!
And oh, no, she says Daniel Bryan looks like Doc.
Okay.
I'll go with her on that.
But Alberto lives in a van down by Del Rio's genius.
By the way, off topic, congratulations to Boston College for winning the
national championship in the collegiate ice hockey tonight.
They won the frozen board.
I will say this real quick bar on wrestling and kind of meant to her thing.
It's getting to family value push like in the 90s and stuff.
It's because it's because Linda's running again.
All right, and it's, it's,
and Tina can come up and nip him in the bud if they don't watch it.
They should, yeah, but they don't want to.
They don't want to win.
I'm determined now.
We're going to do just a little bit of music talk,
because you are losing to the clubhouse live every Saturday night at eight on the East Coast five
on the West Coast live right here on the U stream.
Please make sure if you want some in-depth sports knowledge,
listen to our partner show Cody's playbook.
Should be on, I'm sure he probably is not going to do a show tomorrow.
He might, you never know, but normally his show is on Sunday after news.
He gets real in-depth with you, especially when it comes to college sports that cat knows his stuff.
He is a friend of ours, and he is our partner show.
So check that out right here on U stream.
This is also not his first swim through SmackDown,
by the way, this day me at Sandow Cat.
Oh, really?
Yeah, his actual name is Aaron Stevens,
but he played a character named Idol Stevens.
Oh, yeah, I do remember that, you know.
Who was that?
Who was that?
A couple of years ago.
Yeah, it doesn't say that.
Because he left the company and came back.
And when he says the time, he's been an FCW.
Only one real story, because apparently we have a new couple,
a new power couple in music, named Kanye Weston, Kim Kardashian.
Well, we've got one situation, we've got one relationship starting,
but we actually have one officially ending.
Yes, because Heidi Klum did file for divorce today.
Yes, she filed for divorce this week.
You know, Kim Kardashian, not doing herself any favors.
That's all I'm saying.
No, I'll line it yourself with that unholy matter.
You know, if they get married, how long will that last?
60 days, 50?
40?
I think that's the 30.
What's the overall?
Oh, I guarantee you, Las Vegas, I'll have an over-under on that.
A new music releases this Tuesday.
A new album from this lady that I'm very on board with her.
Well, by the way, did you read this thing about Daughtery?
Oh, what's up?
Apparently he's being sued by three of former bandmates.
Before Daughtery.
Yeah.
Yeah, good luck.
Yeah, that's what I said.
David Cook had a band too, I'm saying.
Bonnie Raite releases a new album called Slipstream on Tuesday,
also a brand new album from Counting Crows,
called Underwater Sunshine, or What We Did on our Summer Vacation.
This is a cover album.
I looked up the track listing.
I don't know any of these.
Got nothing.
Got nothing.
It's no Tuskegee.
No, not at all, by the way.
Wow.
Yeah, I told you.
Are you familiar with that thing, Don?
Tuskegee's a new, a Lionel Richie album,
where it's all of his, he's doing all of his songs
in a country vein with,
but they're all duets with country artists.
It's amazing.
I'm not a country fan.
It is just a, oh god, it's a good thing.
We're checking out.
I was listening to it the other day,
and I had a sale on stuck in my head for like four hours.
That album is so good.
Also, former American Idol alumni, Elliott Yamine,
released as Let's Get To What's Real
for you are hoping it's album sale.
We have the return of Lords of Acid.
Wow.
Cheap thrills.
Somebody found them.
Monica.
We were just talking about her at work a few years ago.
A few years ago, a few weeks ago.
She released this her new album New Life on Tuesday.
Also, Folklij and Nancy Griffith, who actually,
she toured with hoody for a while.
With Reese's intersection and taproot,
releases episodes.
This is slow time.
I must be.
Picking's kind of thing.
Another three or four weeks,
we'll start picking up for summer releases.
Do a little bit of NFL talk.
This week, Nike unveils the new NFL uniforms.
With the Packers say, thanks, but no things.
We're going to keep what we've got.
They really don't look all that different.
All this is just.
We've got logos gone.
Nike logos.
What it is is it's Nike's also changing some some of the fabrics that
are supposed to be lighter in weight, even when they get wet.
And no package like no, just let us keep what we have.
You can put your logo on it because we have to,
but we really don't care.
Packard, what do you do?
But you know, Seattle does get the biggest facelift.
I like where they're going with this.
I like the gloves.
Yeah, the gloves with the logo on them.
Yeah, when you put it together, it makes the entire Seahawk head.
Really?
And all the teams will have that.
Or really?
Yes.
All 32 teams.
Chicago, they did something different with the George
house initials.
Or they can do for the browns.
Probably still be brown.
Keepers, shade up brown.
Because it really isn't a logo.
It's just the only.
It's just.
And because we don't have a heck of a lot to talk about in NFL talk,
Warren Saab declares bankruptcy and claims to have lost his
Super Bowl ring.
Show of hands.
Who believes that?
Apparently he lost his college ring too.
Never has a man had a more appropriate last name.
And when they asked him about his college ring, he was like,
well, it was 12 carats worth of Cubic zirconia and yellow gold.
It was worth about 300 bucks.
You know, it's the freaking championship ring.
Jack hole most most players will tell you they rarely wear those
because they're too big and too heavy.
And that's a special occasion.
Well, when Miami won when the heat one in 05.
Yeah, they got two different rings.
They got one that like takes up an entire knuckle.
Yeah.
And then they got another one that's smaller that looks more like a
regular change of ring.
But most of them keep them in the safety deposit box.
He even like brought even Starbucks says he doesn't wear his very often.
My baby Woffenberg shouldn't wear his.
You did nothing.
You know the clipboard.
Yeah.
If that you probably had somebody holding his clipboard for him.
I had a water boy do it.
Got Jason Garrett.
Let's let's go forward and then back, shall we?
I do want to let me find out where I'm going to take that.
Happen.
We need to put that there.
We need to put that there.
Okay, we're going to do just a little bit of
just a little bit of MLB talk first.
It's your Charlotte story.
Opening day around the league this week.
Charlotte, I'm sure you were still in the room.
I love I want to know from you how many years in a row now.
You have done opening day because she went oh, I know she went last year.
She went this year.
I did opening day once.
Never will I do it again.
Why is that where she posted a team like she posted a picture.
She's five and oh no five and oh and okay.
My problem, but she says six now.
So six was this year.
Oh, okay.
My problem with opening day.
I went one year.
They were playing that they were playing in Boston.
Got annihilated.
I left it to 17th inning stretch.
Now for those of you that are not local,
where the ballpark sits.
It was the night Florida won their first basketball
national championship first of the two back-to-backs.
I left it to 17th inning stretch because I didn't want to miss tip off of the game.
It took me three hours to get from the parking lot to I-20,
which is about a five mile drive.
That's an absolute beating.
I mean, I know people that went to just a tailgate.
I'm like, why would you want to sit in that much traffic to not even be inside the
atmosphere because then you can still sit and listen to the game in your car.
Because people have TV, sir.
They have to deal with the radio is not bad.
Yeah, but you still have to deal with traffic.
And you didn't even watch the game in the stadium.
It's all about the spirit of the heck with that.
When I went and saw Notre Dame play that one year where they played their
football opener, there were tons of people that were
talking and they never went to the game.
I like to say it's a smell of broads and hope.
And not to override this, but same thing with Jimmy Buffett, you know.
My good friend Gary said, go once.
I went once and 24 times later here I go again, you know.
Literally, it's just the experience.
And some people like last year one guy said,
this is my fourth Buffett concert, but the first time ever mid in the stadium to see him.
What's up like that?
Sometimes you get a little too drunk and you get a million to the concert.
Oh, they'll escort you up because you're making a fool.
And there's a unanimous in me.
I wouldn't mind going to paper park and get some of that food that they probably serve
in a Buffett tailgate party.
Oh, yeah.
Any tailgate, like there are people that tailgate that should be executive
chefs.
Oh, no, there are people that will break you down in a tailgate.
I've gotten some really good ideas from watching tailgate recipes.
And I'll tell you what, I'll tell you what, but you want to know where some,
where from what I've been told, some of the best tailgating food you will ever eat.
NASCAR.
Really?
Oh, I don't doubt it.
If you're on the infield, they say it's some of the most amazing food you will ever eat
in your entire life.
I've heard it from multiple purports.
I think I've heard that at least once or twice.
But speaking of baseball, congratulations to Joey Votto of the reds as they give him 10 years,
225 million dollars.
Poor guy.
Another eight rod.
I like Joey Votto.
Good kid.
I like the eight rod.
I don't know if I'm paying 22 men out here.
I'm just saying.
It'll be a little fair.
We're going to wait a couple more weeks before we start doing MLB standings, though.
Yeah.
Probably on the show.
The standings are one and a half.
But you know what?
It's baseball.
I got a really good feeling about this season.
I'm looking forward to watching some baseball this year.
I'm hoping to see some live at some point because I haven't done that in about four years.
Same here.
So I think the last game I saw live.
I saw with you.
Can the Rangers do it again this time?
Can I actually win it?
It is so early.
I'm not even doing prediction.
There's no way.
All I want to say is go braves, go marlins.
Outside of that, I just I just want to spend an afternoon inside that stadium eating a hot dog.
That's it.
That's super nachos.
Super nachos.
That's what that's what you're going to go to the ballpark super nachos.
Yeah, but they get the they care.
You're stomach is red.
Don't care.
They're so good.
Oh my god.
It's so worth it.
I don't care.
It's worth you.
You you.
Super nachos.
I have to eat super nachos the ballpark.
I have to.
It's it's like the law.
Your stomach is almost as bad as sometimes even worse than mine.
I get it without the jalapenos and without the reddit.
Same here.
Although charlotte says boomstick dog.
What's that?
Which is $26.
What the heck is that?
Please charlotte elaborate on that.
What is a boomstick dog?
Is it the spine of a moose on a hot dog bun?
$26 for a hot dog?
Yeah, it's a super ball.
The hamburger is $25.
Shut up.
No, seriously.
That's gerry world though.
You all you almost expect that.
Yeah, but this is right next door.
Can you know charlotte was explaining on that?
We're going to go ahead and move on.
Do a little bit of technology corner because we are right.
We're not doing it too late, but we are running late.
By the way, this song.
Number 10 on the US.
This week in 1982.
Nice.
Well played, sir.
It was when I pulled up.
I was listening to it.
They were talking about it.
It's the size of a baseball bat with chili,
cheese, onions, and jalapenos.
Oh my.
Like a full size baseball bat.
Could I take this to home plate and hit with it?
Or are we talking like one of those mini bats
that you would get like as a souvenir?
I've got to look this up.
I've got to look this up when we get off the air.
I'm going to start this next story and let you start talking about it.
And I'm going to look it up.
The Sony Orbuses, which is what will be the PS4 next year,
will not be backwards compatible even for the PS3,
but will also not work with games that were previously owned.
They have been trying to
squeeze out the used market,
the used games market for a while now.
I mean, most games that you have to buy nowadays,
but like EA, I think, is kind of the flag bearers of this
require you to have a online pass that only comes with the original copy of the game.
And if you don't have it, if you want to play online,
you've got to pay an additional 10 bucks just to play online.
So
this has been a long time coming.
Um, what did you find it?
I found it.
It is the size of a regulation baseball bat.
Oh my god.
That is the boomstick dog.
Leave the jalapenos off and I'm in.
Oh lord.
That feeds what at least.
I'm hungry.
I'm starving right now.
And for an extra 10 bucks, you can have a colonic with it.
And for an extra 15 bucks to perform the last rights before you leave this video.
They use the actual baseball bat for it.
Yikes.
What's a colonic?
It's where you get your, basically, your insights cleared out.
You just can pass anything.
I thought you were kidding.
But now this whole backwards compatible thing, Sony's been jerking that around for a while
because like with the newer models of PS3s, you can't play PS2 games on it.
For some reason, you can play PS1 games, but not any of the PS games.
Everything should be backward compatible.
I agree.
Because that's going to make people want to buy the system more.
Yeah.
I think that's just another selling point, but
how many 2013 for what could be a failure for Sony, especially if you're doing this deal,
where you can't play previously viewed games, because I'm going to say something.
If I'm game stop, I'm like, you can go pound sand.
Well, they were not selling your product.
Well, they're only going to be hurting themselves then.
And if I Microsoft, I'm like, yeah, y'all go ahead and do that.
Yeah.
Because we unveil our next one.
We're going to make it back with everything.
Yeah, we do wherever you want.
It'll play PC software.
Yeah.
Which is originally supposed to be the plan for the Xbox in the first place.
It's supposed to be a home console for PC games, and it just turned into this beast.
Then there's this next story, which I'm very, very excited about.
I read this today.
Hasbro has signed a deal with Netflix,
who streamed their franchises.
So very, very soon on Netflix, you will be able to stream shows like
GI Joe Renegades, Transformers Prime, My Little Pony.
Don't care about that one.
Pound puppies now.
Adventures of Chuck and Friends.
I don't know what that is.
Jim and the holograms, because they are simply outrageous, sir.
They're truly outrageous.
Transformers Generation One, GI Joe, Real American Heroes.
Stop right there.
Stop right there.
That's all you need to, that's all I need to hear.
Transformers Beast Wars and Transformers Rescue Bots.
All those, those last two will be available later this year.
What they're trying to do is when they're showing this stuff on the hub,
which is a channel.
Right.
But they're going to go straight to Netflix after that.
That's good.
That's, that's, that's a brilliant plan.
I know you're not a real hardcore gamer, and I know you've never really played a,
online role-playing game of any sort.
That is true.
You've never had an interest in World of Warcraft.
No, although James Harding,
good friend of the show, loves him some World Warcraft.
Would you be interested in a browser-based RPG by any chance?
No.
No.
My whole thing is, I'll put the wrong version of this on my face.
Even if that RPG was family guy?
No.
Seriously.
No.
I just, stuff like that just does not appeal to me.
It just never has.
I've seen screenshots of this thing, and I'm thinking,
oh my god.
I mean, I, I think it would be fun.
I'm sure it would be very much fun, but I just don't,
it doesn't do anything for me.
The whole, the whole RPG thing.
It just doesn't.
Because I know that they're, they're getting ready to do one for consoles,
based on South Park as well.
Dungeons and Dragons, I've read that.
Dungeons and Dragons, outside of that I'm good.
And that was when I was 12.
When I saw that they're going to have a browser-based RPG based on family guy,
I'm like, and Rob might actually be on board with this.
Okay.
Streetlight is on.
Streetlight is on.
We end every one of these shows.
By the way, joining us tonight.
Friend of the show Don Ford.
Thanks for having me, guys.
Always a honor to do so, sorry.
Welcome any time.
We end every show with a list.
So let's do our new list theme.
Before I get to this, I'm getting happy Easter, happy all.
There's everybody out there.
Absolutely.
Happy Passover.
Get your egg search on.
List this week is one I'm surprised we haven't done before.
And if we have, I remember mentioning a couple things on this list,
but I don't think that they were stuff that were part of this actual listing.
No, not that I can recall.
So what we're going to do this week is my 10 favorite game shows.
Some of these were going to go kind of deep on you, because we can.
Number 10.
And the only reason I put this on here is because I needed to put a 10th one on here.
When I was younger, I was a bigger wheel of fortune fan that I am now.
There is one glaring omission on this list.
Oh, well, until we get to the end.
Okay.
Number nine, the old school version of Let's Make It Deal.
With Monty Hall.
What's the great Monty Hall?
I mean, I used to like, I remember one time, Dennis Miller actually said,
Monty sent the entire audience when he offered 50 bucks at anybody that could show any shredded
decency or self-respect or dignity and self-respect and stump the audience.
Just the old school Let's Make It Deal, because people now are just stupid with it.
Yeah.
And I'm not a big Wayne Brady fan, except for the Dave Chappelle sketch.
Well, the whose line is it anyway?
He was okay there.
But again, I've stated on this show and I still contend that I prefer the British version
to the American version.
But he was still good on that show.
But he wasn't like Mike McShane and all the people that were on the British version
so great, yeah.
We call him mockery and Brian Stiles.
No, no, no, call him mockery and
Brad something they were in town doing a show together called The Two Man Groups.
Oh, yes, yeah, that's on Netflix.
Oh, is it The Two Man Groups?
I think it's not that great.
Really?
It's not that great.
Number eight, the, I don't remember this.
Really?
You don't remember the Scrabble game show that was hosted by the Great Chuck Wallery?
No, I don't remember that.
Yes, there was a Scrabble game show was hosted by Chuck Wallery.
It was one that came on the middle of the day.
When I was a kid, so I could watch it when I was home.
Number seven was a show called Crosswitz.
This was a show early, early 80s.
It was, they took the format of the pyramid where you had a contestant and a celebrity,
and they put it in a format where there was a big crossword puzzle on the board.
And you got a clue and the more the more crossword clues you've got right,
you would collect them.
It's got like celebrity password too.
Kind of sort of.
Number seven, number six, card sharks.
I was a fan of that too.
Such a great show.
Higher or lower?
Higher?
And the card's like the size of a Mustang, and they were on the board.
Big fan, even when they revived it, it was still pretty good.
There's one thing I didn't like is how they explain their answer.
They take 10 minutes.
Well, I think that men like women just because of this and this and this and this.
Shut up!
Just pick a card!
Higher!
She's like drooling like a moron.
All those questions again.
I mean they just explained like shut up to say it's all right.
Just pick a card.
Move along.
Number five is a show I cannot believe they have not revived.
It was called the Joker's Wild.
Love that shit.
Two CarPlay gameshows back to back on this list.
But I love the show.
I was number Joker, Joker, Joker.
And then when they go to the bonus round, they had that really big,
the big plunger thing that they had to pull back on.
Yeah.
I love that show.
The great Bill Cullen hosted that.
And I think I just realized what you're glorying on Mission 8.
If they got the devil in the bonus round, they were out.
I don't know.
Well, I think I know what you're thinking, but I'm not sure yet.
Number four, Double Dare.
One of the greatest game shows of all time.
It was when Nickelodeon, in my opinion, was their head.
It was Mark Summers, who's currently, he produces a ton of stuff in the hood.
He owns food now.
He's pretty much all him.
You don't want to think about him though.
Mark Summers is a major OCD about cleaning.
And here he is on Double Dare with all the slime.
Really?
Yeah, I've read that.
I've read that one.
He would talk about how he'd go home after the show.
And I mean, he would like vacuum every day.
If there's something on thing that's sand, that he was just very old,
you know, like the guy from Dealer No Deal.
How he meant that.
He won't be able to do that.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Same thing with this guy here, but here's on Double Dare with all the slime.
You go home and be very clean.
And Double Dare, and both of this, and number three, Fun House,
which was kind of sort of Double Dare asked,
but the bonus round was there was this huge house.
And you had to run through the rooms to find flags.
The prizes they gave away on those two shows were particularly awesome.
I thought Fun House was a little bit cooler,
because it was a little bit more elaborate with what you had to do.
Very rude, rude, golbergian kind of stuff.
I bet you can find those either like on Hulu or YouTube or something.
Oh, no, they're on YouTube, yeah.
Number two, debated.
The price is right, no matter what, it's always greatness.
I prefer the Bob Barker version.
Drew Carrey, I have a hard time dealing with it.
It's a whole different vibe.
But when I was in college, 11 a.m.,
everything stopped because prices right was on.
And plus, it gave us the epic fail horn.
The thing I love, if you watch old shows,
like 20 years ago, 25, you in a new car, that's an 85 Honda Civic.
That's broken out of my backyard right there.
Who was it? I saw a guy Bob and Tom once again.
So, you know, it's important to have dreams,
because when I was a kid, my dream was to own a 1987 Nissan 280CX.
And last year for 500 bucks, that dream came true.
Like Robin Harris got me on brand new Mercedes-Benz windshield wap-a-blade.
And number one, greatest game show of all time.
I DVR it every day, two, five days a week.
Speaking of OCD,
Duh duh duh!
Debate it, 20, it's current run,
it's in its 28th season, and it's current incarnation.
Not arguing with you, but the only thing you can say is,
prices rise been longer running.
Yeah, but the thing about Jeopardy is,
you learn stuff like, I'm learning stuff.
I tell, my wife will tell you, the reason I DVR Jeopardy
is because it keeps my brain sharp.
It always has.
Because we don't have enough useless information.
It presses right in the brain.
But it's not always useless information. There's a lot of stuff that's historical and science based stuff on jeopardy
It's kind of stuff that you should know
Yeah, but the only thing that really kind of irritates me at times about jeopardy is he just seems so
I'm sorry the capital of Yemen is tonight
And what happened because it's written down in front of you. Try back. What happens when he leaves the show whenever that day is it over
Over it's over. There's somebody that's gonna leave that show for him. It's over Johnny
Because someday you didn't have you seen Johnny lately
Johnny know the guy that does the announcing for jeopardy. No
What's his name Johnny
Anyway, I'm soon. Yeah, but Sam song the thing about the thing about Johnny is like Johnny's got the same voice
He's had for 30 years, but he looks 150 years old like you're just like oh
Johnny Gilbert
But greatest game to ever and Charlotte will agree with me because we love Jeff. I know you'll both watch him together
That's the list so the pendulum swings back to you
Was it like wearing omission though? Oh, what is your grip now? Can I guess what it is? Sure pressure luck? No, although I did love pressure
Look, I don't know why pressure luck is not because I love pressure luck
I just remember both you and me and everybody we know being totally obsessed with this show every night
We were glued to it. We videotaped it millionaire. There you go
And it's the Registration. Have you seen it lately? What they've done with it? I can't what they've done
They've completely changed it's not millionaire anymore. Yeah, it kind of it is
But technically it is but they've like deal or no deal
Yeah, but what's funny is the first time I just have any click it by I'm like, okay
What are they doing with Meredith here on this thing? And they're like today we're gonna have somebody on the show that when a contest
To be the biggest millionaire fan in the Northeast y'all she bombed out on the first question
I mean with pressure luck. They've had a documentary made about it about that that controversy and slum dog millionaire
Yep, I don't know my missions. Go ahead
Password
Password was okay
$25,000 pyramid pyramid. I kind of got into I would pyramid. I would put pyramid over Scrabble on that
See, but you guys didn't know about Scrabble so you can't put it above it because you know about it
I go back and I'm sure to show networks. I'll show it all the time because they show every if you want to get really technical
survivor
I thought about doing that, but I kind of I kept the reality show part out of it
Charlotte says if when Alex passes she wants her to take his place. Okay, well see reality show is one thing
But there's a prize at the end of survivor. Yeah, I wouldn't put big brother on the list
But you know, that's got a prize at the end
I would put it on the top 10 is what I'm saying, but survivor I would tonight being Easter weekend
We're gonna take you home and guys keep your I want you to keep your headphones on for this if you don't mind
Okay, because this is audio that I had to pull off of YouTube because I wanted it so badly
There is a guy by the name of Rich Mullins who is one of the greatest
Christian contemporary music composers and singers ever and he passed away in the 90s way way too soon
And so one of my favorite groups is a group by the name of third day
And they did a version of his song called Creed, which is the Apostles Creed put to music
I like their version better than I like his this is from a version they did in a studio with the great brand and heath
So make sure you listen to Cody's playbook as often as you can he's got an archive there as well

All my to make her
And in Jesus Christ is only big
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
One of the Virgin Mary
Suffered on the parched fire
He was crucified and dead in bed, and I believe what I believe
What makes me who I am
No, I did not make it. No, it is making me. It is a very truth
I've got it not the invention of any man
I believe that he who suffered was crucified and dead
He descended in hell
All the third day he rose again
He ascended in heaven
Where is it to God's mighty right hand
I believe that he's returning
Just a quick in the dead
I believe what I believe
What makes me who I am
No, I did not make it. No, it is making me. It is a very truth
I've got it not the invention of any man
Oh, I believe, I believe it
Oh, I believe it
Oh, I said I believe it
Oh, I said I believe it
Oh, I believe it
I believe he got the Father
All modern makers have a maker of earth
And Jesus Christ is only a big atom
Son of God
I believe in the Holy Spirit
One holy church
The communion of saints
And the forgiveness of sin
And I believe in the resurrection
And when I believe in the love that never ends
I believe what I believe
So, it makes me who I am
And I did not make it
No, it is making me
And I did not make it
No, it is making me
And I did not make it. No, it is making me. It is a very truth
I've got it not the invention of any man
Yeah, I believe, I believe it
I believe it
I believe it
Oh, I believe, I believe it
Oh, I believe it
Oh, with me here
I'm here, I'm here
I'm here, I'm here
The preceding was a sooner-or-gator production.
You have to go, you have to go!
Why, because I have to?
