In this Tuesday night
In this Tuesday night
In the Zeta Clock of the East Coast
In this five o'clock night
It is 5 o'clock on the West Coast.
It is the first of November, hence the song, in the year of our Lord, 2011.
It is season two episode 17.
And we welcome each and every one of you to the clubhouse at the Robin Cody live here
on Eustrine, every Tuesday night.
I am Rob, having a call a little bit of an audible again this week, joining me again.
It is Chad.
Thank you, sir.
Well, we welcome you, sir.
We always welcome anyone that wants to join us in studio right here during the show.
Just call ahead of time.
That's all I'm asking.
Good to show up at the studio.
There's a killer cat that lives in the room.
He might kill you.
That's exactly what they played.
Not exactly an open door policy.
Yeah, well, you know.
That's your payment right here.
That's what I'm saying.
Pretty with a family of obligation this week.
We hope everything is okay there.
Hope everything is going well.
Go smoothly.
Look forward to having you on the show again again, brother.
We welcome you.
It is November, which means whether it gets weird, whether it's gotten weird already.
I would even turn my AC back on.
I just turn on more fans because I know that it's going to get cold in a day and a half
anyway.
It didn't always used to be this way.
I mean, the weather just skits a frenicator.
Get cold and stay cold or stay warm.
Yeah.
We didn't wish you washing.
But even when I first moved to this area 16 years ago, by this time, it was decent cold.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Global warming.
Yeah.
We are hurdling toward the sun at an alarming rate.
And remember kids, global warming affects cold too.
Yeah.
Don't just say, hey, what's up?
It's crap about global warming because really cold.
But guys, it affects that too.
I just want to help you not sound like an idiot.
But a listener.
It's hard.
It's hard.
I work hard.
I'm a lot of the play hard.
We're nothing.
We've got the rule.
I don't know.
We always start with corrections.
Listen back to this week's show.
I didn't hear anything that was a glaring omission, so I did not get an email from
Pricewaterhouse telling me the other way.
I got to listen to very little of it.
I had a little.
Yeah.
You had some things to work out yourself.
We talked about that on the vengeance pre-show, so kind of an odd week last week for
both of us.
Yes, it was.
Every day's a new day, Prince.
Always remember that.
But we were clean last week, so even without Cody here, we are going to go ahead and
talk a little bit in that car.
I will allow that to settle in.
This is all you man.
Well, I mean, there's some things that you can have some opinions on.
Yeah.
Opinions, just not a lot of knowledge.
If we are winding down the NASCAR 2011 season, we start with a little bit of sadder news
that broke this morning.
NASCAR Teemo to Rick Hendrick and his wife are recovering at home in Charlotte, North
Carolina.
They have minor injuries last night.
There's a small jet carrying them down to Key West, and it lost its brakes and crash
landed at Key West Airport in Lord.
This happened last night about 745 at broke on NASCAR.com at about, it was this morning
at 1030 Central Times.
That was a lot like the Iliya incident.
Well, no, I don't think this because of that was because there was too much baggage on
the plane.
That was a weight problem.
This was just, you're still trying to figure out what happened.
The plane was actually registered to one of his driver, five time NASCAR Sprinkup
Champion, Jimmy Johnson.
Jimmy released a statement that says it really shakes you down to the core on just so thankful
that Rick and Linda and the pilots are at home in Charlotte and not badly injured and
everybody's going to be okay.
Yeah, that could have ended a lot worse.
Well, this actually comes seven years and two weeks after a hundred plane carrying 10
people beard off course in foggy conditions and crashed in route to a rate of race and
Martin Scull.
I remember when this happened.
I'm not a NASCAR guy, but I remember hearing about that, but we're glad everybody's
okay.
We want to send our best to the families and look forward to seeing Rick and Rick back
in the in the infield.
He's a very beloved owner in NASCAR, a lot of wins for this guy.
When Jimmy Johnson's one of your drivers, you've got to win.
Yeah, you've got a lot of skins on the wall.
But this past week, we were in Martin's bill, Virginia, for the turns,
comes fast relief 500.
Some of these sponsors, that one had to kind of marinate for your top ten finishers
are as follows.
I'll let you see.
Ryan Newman comes in in 10th Carl Edwards 9, the Martin True X Junior eighth Dale
Earnhardt Junior hits a set top seven finish.
You have Burton six, Denny Ham one fifth, Kevin Harvick fourth, Jeff Gordon top three.
Gordon seems to be putting it on during the chase, which you know is, how many haters
is this guy have a lot by his more haters than he has fans?
I don't know that I actually just, I don't know Jeff Gordon's actually in the chase,
he has to look.
Oh, yes, he is.
I'm sorry, I apologize to hear that.
I was actually thinking Tony Stewart, who won this race his third win in the chase.
There's only what 10 races in the chase.
And then second, of course, went to the aforementioned Jimmy Johnson a guy who is, he won't
go away.
He's trying for six straight in my friend.
I'm sorry, at any time I hear Jimmy Johnson that you think of, you live in Dallas, you
don't have a choice.
I just, I just think of somebody with perfectly clothed fake hair.
But Jeff Gordon hanging in there now, what these, these finishes due to you is updates
to your standings.
Jeff Gordon holding onto that 10th place right now, Dallard Hart moves up to 9th.
Kurt, oh, he has to stay steady at 9th, I apologize.
Kurt Bush, stay steady at 8th, Kyle Bush drops 1 to 7, Jimmy Johnson moves up 1 to 6th.
He's only 43 points out of the leader.
That 10th hit drops 3 to the fifth place spot.
Brad has loud ski drops 1 to 4, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart both move up two places
in the standings as Harvick is third.
Tony Stewart is second, Carl Edwards, currently your points leader, would you like to know
how far out Tony Stewart is right now?
Go ahead.
Eight points.
Good night.
We have two to three races left, I remember I want to say it's three, because it is Texas
week, baby.
We come back to Texas Motor Speedway for the second race of the year, sponsored by, as
I was corrected last week, not Dickies Barbecue, Dickies Clothing.
Oh, okay, that makes sense.
Yeah, I just, I got a little confused, I got excited, and we were going to have
Dickies Barbecue sponsored race in Cody, second, no, no, it's, it's, it's the clothing
for the overalls, not the, but I'd have been okay with that, I'm just saying, also known
as these Samsung mobile 500.
So there's a couple of different sponsors for this race coming out, it doesn't go as
good for you, you didn't have all, yeah, but how many sponsors run a mass car begin
week?
Let's be honest.
Look at your average car, look at your average, I just think it's odd that you're doing
a race out there in Fort Worth at 2 o'clock in the afternoon when the cowboys are playing
new.
That sounds, and I believe they're at home, aren't they, no?
Well, they run their own, they were on the road on Sunday, so we'll have to look here
in a minute.
I should probably know these things, I'm very booched.
But then it felt like it comes up later.
So NASCAR fans, 2 o'clock Sunday for your NASCAR Sprint Cup race as we are getting
close to the end.
After, yeah, there's only, after, after.
See you, I think after Texas.
So I'm still intrigued by that first bullet point.
Oh, I kind of wanted to wait, I didn't want to do that after the Hendrick story.
Tony Stewart, who is nipping at the heels right now, up one car, I'd words says that,
there's a lot of beeps in NASCAR right now, there's a lot of guys with a lot of problems.
Uh, Dallas is at home by the way, okay, I was right.
What he wants to do is after each race, he wants to set up a boxing ring, and have these
guys that have beeps getting the boxing ring and just go at it.
First of all, I just want to say totally unbored with this, because what do I always say
when people have beeps with one another, put him in a cage?
I don't know if I'm down with boxing ring, I'd much rather be a wrestling ring.
Hell on the cell, baby, steel chairs, barb wire, rap, bats, you know.
I think if you did that, it wouldn't take very long because the guys have been laughing so hard
over it.
Well, they would overshadow the race that they just finished, that's for Daddy again.
Yeah, that's true.
Make that a separate event, charge double for the same fight night, do it like on Monday night,
absolute resolution, because you got to think these guys drive 500 miles, they've got
no strength left at any like, but they're, they're real edgy, it'd be like watching
Statware and Waldorf fight in a rain.
I don't know man, 500 miles with a road rage, I'm sorry, I'm going to take it out on something.
After, if I drive 500 miles, the last thing I want to do is anything physical.
But you've seen these guys go at each other and they're not exactly like swinging like
cissis, you know, they're, they're going at each other.
There are, I mean, a lot of people debate the athleticism of mass card.
I say these guys are athletes again, because you really have a lot to worry about.
You have to be in good physical shape.
You couldn't put me in one of those stock cars and let me drive it for six hours.
You wouldn't get me doing it even if I wasn't.
Especially if I can't stop the fee.
I've got Granny, you probably swed it all out as you're going anywhere, but still.
But that's an ass car for this week.
Texas next week, we are regular, one of the, you talk about a short off season.
They're only off for about two and a half months.
And then it's Daytona.
These guys don't mess around.
You're listening to the clubhouse with Robin Cody.
We are live every week on you stream.
And in 19 days, we are going to be live at Fox and Hound.
Join us in Richardson if you are local, right off the central expressway just west of central
on Campbell right behind the McDonald's for WWE Survivor Series.
Three dollars get you in the door.
Very much looking forward to the last major of the year.
I hope this is in a dive.
I know, I got a, you know, I've got a very handsome little feeling about this.
You got a bad feeling about this.
Yeah, it's, it doesn't seem like we're that far and we're from the last major.
But we'll get to that, we'll get to that.
Well, they know the last major was two months ago.
I mean, I know, it just, it doesn't seem like we've had enough build up.
It has three papers.
Yeah, but we've got, we'll, we'll get to it.
We'll get there.
I don't want to get bogged down a wrestling song.
That's true.
But make sure you join us.
Uh, pre show will be at six o'clock central.
If you cannot join us live in person, listen to our pre show.
We will cover the card for you keep you up to date on everything that's going on.
I'm telling you what, three dollars versus 50 at the house, 60 in favor of you.
All right, I'm sorry, in high definition.
I'm not the smartest guy in the world and I don't, I'm not real good at math.
But, you know, I can figure this one out.
That's the deal to me.
$7 dollars that you could spend on some amazing food.
Yeah.
That you wouldn't even spend a whole 57 to get yourself full.
The proportions aren't skipping.
This isn't like you're going to spago and getting like a chicken breast as the size of a quarter
with carrot shavings and any, I've said it a million times in this show.
I'll probably say it a million more.
Any place that serves soft pretzels as an appetizer?
I'm in.
Heck, they, they used soft pretzels as a bun on a club set.
That's right.
They deal on the turf.
Oh, the black forest.
That's my golden.
That's so good.
I think they got pizzas.
They've got steaks.
They've got salads.
I mean, we can say menu all the time.
Oh, you see, like I see something new, like every other paper.
This last one docked in his lovely lady for an Amy were there.
And she ordered those mini chili dogs.
Much bigger than you would think and and rather tasty.
Yeah, I got them like the first time they had them available on the menu that we went back
and I'm like, okay, I'm in on that.
Quite enjoyed, it's fun.
Yeah, yeah.
But make sure you join us.
November that's 20.
It's the Sunday that starts the week of Thanksgiving.
And you remember, when did this thing first started?
Survivors used to be on Thanksgiving.
Yes.
There's no way Vince could compete with the NFL on this day.
Especially now that it's a triple header plus college.
Yeah, I remember whenever the, the, the taker versus taker man.
Uh-huh.
Under the watching that in our old apartment.
Yeah.
Many, many moons ago.
The squid was asleep and we were watching a fail.
Unravel.
Yeah, that is true.
That is true.
Let's talk some movie talk, shall we?
That's.
There we go.
Sometimes I can Peter isn't going to cooperate.
But that's my mom wants to told me.
Peter's only smart as you tell me.
Not much to talk about movie headline wise this week.
Really didn't want to talk about real quick in the box office.
Listen, Boots taking everybody to the wood shed.
To the tune.
Make sure you're listening.
I'm going to turn this down so the people with cheap seats can hear me.
Almost 35 million dollars.
This really does not surprise me.
It does not surprise me at all.
Because it doesn't surprise me that it took first place.
It surprises me how much money, how much money.
Considering the franchise that it's a spin off from.
But considering what weekend it is,
you had people going to Halloween parties.
You had trunker treaters going on.
The fact that this movie made this much money on Halloween weekend.
I know there were certain sections of the country that got a ton of rain.
A ton.
So that could have had something to do.
Yeah, certain sections got snow.
Yeah, I'm going to bring that.
I mean, and you look at it, I mean,
it made more than almost the three people behind it combined.
As paranormal activity does 18.1 million.
What do you really would have thought that would have been the go-to movie for them?
Yeah, so that is on to Justin Timberlake's in time does 12.1 million.
And foot loose does 5.5.
Rumb diary, 5.1.
But here's a surprise for you.
Real steel still in the top 10.
Good, not that they came in on my birthday.
$4.8 million dollars.
Probably that they came in on my birthday.
The three musketeers, the odds of March money ball still in the top 10.
And I cannot believe that this movie is number 10 of the top 10 right now.
Given the nature of what it is, courageous, still in the top 12.
Well, it was not expecting.
Congratulations to those guys.
I do want to see this film.
Great, great soundtrack for everything I've heard some of your favorite
Christian artists through there.
I've heard the movie is very, very good.
Even though it's 33% I'm running to make sure.
New releases this week, there's really only two to talk about.
Um, and one of them's actually changed numbers since I wrote the run sheet.
We do have a very herald and Kumar Christmas in 3D.
That's a seri and unnecessary.
No rating yet, but you don't want Alco.
I like Alco if I got nothing else going on.
It just seems like they're beating a dead horse on this.
I enjoy the work of the air.
Do we need 3D on this though?
Why not?
Hot chicks in 3D, you're not in on the edge.
It's just a Neil Patrick Harris.
I had a hard enough time swallowing the whole jackass 3D thing.
And I'm a huge fan of that franchise.
I'm going to go off off the page a little bit on you.
A movie called killing Bono.
56% of Rotten Tomatoes comes out this week.
Killing Bono is a rock and roll comedy about two Irish brothers struggling to forge their path
through the 1980s music scene.
We'll see the meteoric rise to fame of their old school pals,
U2, only serves the cast and deeper into the shadows.
So this is like another animal kind of thing.
No, but I don't think it's a true story.
I think it's a fictional story, but it looks kind of interesting.
It's kind of interesting that that's releasing this week given what one of your music
new releases is today.
That we'll talk about later.
You're other big release this week.
A movie that better be good.
Yeah, that's all I'm saying.
This is this this movie better be a may.
This better not be grownups revisited.
Brett Ratner returns to the director's chair to direct a little film.
I like to call tower-highest.
Now if you've been living in a cave for the last week and do not know
about this film.
Everybody in their brother is in this movie.
I don't mean that like, okay, there's a couple with no.
This thing has a budget.
I'm going to go to the IMDB page right now and look up the budget on this thing because
it's got to be just ridiculously huge.
Given the cast budget alone in this has got to be ridiculous.
Is this the one I'm assuming this one where you said the numbers change?
Yes, what a tower-highest is going.
At the time I wrote the run sheet.
It was at 70% and it is up to 79%.
Wow.
Here's your cast.
Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Casey Athlete, Alan Alder, Matthew Broadrick,
Judd, Judd Hirsch, Tia Leone, Michael Peña,
Gabbera Sibide, see if there's anybody else here that you might.
Robert Downey's senior.
So now Stiller's work with the boat.
Basically, Alan Alder plays like a birdie made off type guy.
And they decide they're going to steal the money back from him that all these people are
being fired because they can't make, they can't get their money back.
I can finally get to the bottom of his page.
I'm not seeing.
See, might you and I both had screening passes for this and we never got around this.
Well, it was one of those things where
every time they had a screening I had something going on.
Whether it was this show, whether it was stuff it worked.
They're not, I don't see a budget on this yet.
So I don't know what it has to make with this cast.
It's got to be huge.
But, you know what?
Fourteen reviews I'm running to made on a level of pressure.
Sounds good to me.
You know, and let's see.
Variety gave it a bad review.
The New Yorker gave it a bad review.
And Slant Magazine gave it a bad review.
But, you know, Billage Voice gave it a good review.
Hollywood Reporter gave it a good review.
Real.com empire magazine and movies like this generally don't review.
Well, I'll be interested to see how it does.
This is not one that I'm going to go out of my way to see.
I know your cousin's household, Mikey's household,
Madison is all about seeing this film.
Oh, I want to do see this film something fierce.
I show.
Let's say to them using a bit.
Never put it past me.
There's a reason that I executive produced this show because I know how to set up a music bed.
DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week.
Your big marquee release is that of Cars 2.
Which we were talking about in pre-show.
38% lot today.
And I have not seen this now.
Honestly, I'll wait for one on stars.
It was, I just don't, it just doesn't do anything for it.
It was fun.
The first one didn't do anything for me.
And I kind of went and saw this.
I enjoyed the first one.
hesitantly.
Your dad was a big parent.
First one was a far deeper.
And I liked it.
But as far as on my list of all-time favorite Pixar films,
nowhere near at the top.
I mean, it was basically scraping the bottom of the barrel from me.
You know, just there was nothing that made it,
and then adhered into me.
Now, this next one completely end by the way.
The 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Crazy, stupid love.
Steve Correll is in this.
Right, and Gosling is in this.
And the very hot Emma Stone is in this.
I'm in.
I want to actually want to see this in the theater.
But I did not get a chance to do it.
I think it's a lot to get me to do it here now.
It's going to be an event film again.
This is one, this is one I actually do want to see.
Also this week, 61% on Rotten Tomatoes for the boat movie in a tent that I like to call
water for elephants in movie.
Who's in this?
Reach where there's spoon out.
Isn't it?
It is the Robert Pattinson.
Yes, uh, about it out again.
But this, uh, next one we have Michael Jackson, the life of an icon.
We weren't sure if this was sanctioned or not, Chad found out in the pre-show.
This has been sanctioned, at least it seems to be.
I mean, if David guessed his behind it and, you know, being released through a major label, that's
some, you know, pressed overnight for a quick cash and type thing.
Wait, I mean, they took their time on it.
It's been one, you know, two years now, over two years.
That's been almost two and a half years.
You know, normally something like this.
Yeah, exactly.
Normally something like this gets cranked out over a weekend whenever it's just, yeah, just something
that's tossed out there to make a quick buck.
But this looks like some actual care when it'd be getting it made.
And this last film on the list this week is a film that was originally brought to my attention
by friend of the show David.
He let me know about this movie.
I checked out the trailer for it.
And it's interesting concept.
It's called the Devil's Double.
This has dominant Cooper who you might remember he was in 24th for a bit.
Basically, this is the story about Uday Hussein.
Who finds a guy that he wants to basically be his body double.
We've all heard the stories about Saddam having like seven doubles, right?
You never know where he is at any time.
This is kind of works along with that.
Where Uday does the same thing.
I'm interested in this.
Now, I'm assuming this is one of the brothers.
Well, they only had to here.
Uday and Kusei were both of the same.
Okay, which I'm trying to remember which one it was that was
put in charge of the soccer team that we were such a horrible...
I believe it was Uday.
Was it Uday?
I believe it was Uday.
So this would be something I might check out.
If I'm at the local blockbuster and nothing else is tickling my fancy.
If I can find it instant streaming, I definitely will watch it.
It sounds intriguing.
And you know, I'm glad you talked about the instant skew
because you know that Brett Sean set still not on these.
It's still not even available for you to rent from them.
Really?
It just says reserve or save.
I'm like, that's fine.
It's been out for a week.
What's going on, Vince?
I want to watch this thing, but I want to pay for it.
Um, there's that.
Let's talk a little bit about a couple of TV news.
And I mean, just a little bit.
I broke this on our Facebook page.
Please follow our Facebook page at the Clubhouse podcast.
Kim Kardashian filing for divorce after 72 days of marriage from New Jersey
Net's Player Chris Humphrey's.
You know how we found out?
How's that?
He found out from TMZ that she filed for the...
Wow!
God, please.
As I said on our our Facebook page, if you had Halloween day in your office pool,
congratulations, you won.
If you set the over under at 75 days, you took the under congratulations, you won.
And if you were actually participating in a pool like that,
what the heck is wrong with your wife?
Hey, you made money?
He did.
So I think people do the Deadpools the same thing,
but the over under on the Kim Kardashian.
Why not?
Yikes.
And a lot of people thought it was odd that, you know,
the day before she filed for divorce, where as you push,
has a career day for good offense.
You know, also it's probably worth mentioning about the Fox Direct TV agreement finally being.
They got that done last night.
I saw that on Facebook.
Direct TV announced and they had gotten their deal with the Fox done.
So direct TV customers, you were not going to,
you did not lose Fox Sports net,
not like good stuff today.
Seems like they've been going through that quite a bit with providers
in the last couple of years.
And then the whole mudslinging campaign by their competitors just kicks in the full gear.
There is nothing that dish network can do that can make me want their product.
Now, you're inferior to direct TV in every aspect.
They all are both inferior to AT&T Uverse,
both people on this air right now will test it out.
Yeah, they always seem like the whiny little brother.
They're really honest, you just want to,
you just want to run around with your big wheel.
He didn't skip out on the commercials with our software that we didn't tell people
we can actually do and then we had to block.
Please drink a nice warm glass of shut the heck up.
Still chair.
And then we find out entertainment weekly's website brought this to my attention.
Two shows because, because films are the only things that can recycle as we know
with Charlie's Angels.
They're a bit.
No, good.
I think the only only reboot that's actually holding its own is Cody's beloved Hawaii five out.
Yeah, I was about to say.
Let's see, night writer.
I hope it's fine, Aquaman.
Feel good.
Oh, whatever.
We could do this all night there.
We've got two more shows coming back.
Versus the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show known as All That,
which I believe was the launching pad for the keen and in hell.
Is that what gave us good burger?
What, yeah, I believe it did.
I'm checking on that right now, 1994.
What did you only go one season?
Yeah, only went one season.
2014, 2014, 2014, and they want to bring it back.
The keen and Thompson, yep, keen and Kel, Amanda Binds came from that.
She Britney Spears, little sister.
Now they're saying 2002 to 2005.
So maybe it actually went longer than that.
And when eight years, because I'm seeing people as far back as 1997 in this thing,
I can think of two other shows off the top of my head.
I would rather see the break back then.
This is canon.
It was a really big.
We can't get doubled there.
All right, they're with you.
I love the week.
We can't get, you can't do the television.
Do you remember, don't mess with, you can't do the television.
Leave that alone.
But I mean, what would you rather see remade this or that, neither?
Oh, if you had to pick one or the other.
Let me ask you this, do you remember a show called Fun House?
That was, it was very doubled theirish, very vaguely, uh, where the, where the,
you would get, if you won the first part, the second part,
we should go into the Fun House and help these rooms in each room,
had a hidden flag when you got those.
Yeah, yeah, I love that show.
Game show network.
Get on that.
It's kind of like what they're doing with the Hasbro family game night game shows.
Yeah, but they're very fat.
Mark, what's his name, drives me nuts.
Yeah.
But also coming back.
In living color, Fox has announced, that's all they've said.
It's that they're bringing you back to Amazon.
Who's involved?
Yeah, we need details on that.
Cause mad TV was such a mating juggler, not even though it was on the air
for over a freaking decade.
And I did finally speak, there is another TV show coming back as well.
That I saw the TV spots for the last night or it was their last night of the show.
Sure, factor.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Well, that's why when UFC was in South America,
that's why Joe Rogan wasn't there.
That's why Kenny Florian was filling in.
Okay.
But he does Joe Rogan was filming the new episodes of Fairfax.
I was wondering that cause I never really got a good look to see if Rogan was actually
participating and I was only assuming that he was.
Oh, yeah, he's it.
He's it.
I don't, I just didn't remember seeing him in the TV spots.
I'm like, they've got to bring him back.
He's a huge part of that show.
Let us keep moving and do a little bit of a wrestling toe right here on the clubhouse with Robin
Cody live each and every Tuesday night eight on the East Coast five on the West Coast.
Right here on you stream.
Couple of crazy headlines from the last weekend found out Friday.
A guy that I believe should be in the Hall of Fame.
Along with his brother.
Multiple-time champion held the NWA and WCW Rogue Heavyweight titles.
Was a horseman at one point very window.
Had a stroke on Thursday.
And still as far as I know still cleaning the life.
Not doing well.
So we we want to send our best out to the Windham family.
Legendary wrestling family.
His dad has actually been keeping up with everything.
One of the original Black Jackson.
So, and then Jacques Rousseau, we find out.
It was either a Monday or today I found out Jacques Rousseau been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
It was a pancreatic or prostate.
That was pancreatic.
I see my guard right the other day it was prostate.
Yeah, but it's either way though.
That's good on either side.
And the more I read my thing is like, I'm dealing to the point in my life.
Where this is going to be so much more of a regular current.
You talk about giving you that sense of your own mortality.
Yeah, it's a, yeah.
Yeah, I don't quite know quite about that.
Yeah, absolutely true on that sir.
Then we find out today this happened.
I got this email about an hour before this show went on the air.
Evan Boren.
Suspended for 30 days for violating the wellness policy.
By the way, to backtrack a little short, just got apparently the update on very wind
him. He had a massive heart attack after the stroke.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, I forgot about that.
You're absolutely correct.
But he's in stable condition in a Florida hospital.
Wow, he was found by a long time tag partner and brother-in-law,
Mike Rotunda.
The great Mike Rotunda also known as IRS.
We're going to talk about this in a minute.
But Evan Boren has been suspended for 30 days for violation of the wellness policy.
How this will affect the tag team titles.
I do not know.
I'll tell you, it's, they're going to have to move those belts.
You have to move, they've held the,
have they held those belts for like a month?
And it feels like they've had it for 19 years.
Yeah.
And you're already getting that feeling of nobody cares
that they're holding these belts anymore.
But because it's been safe tag teams.
Real quick, no, you're go home raw for Survivor Series will be a three-hour show
on the 14th.
The rock will be in attendance as well.
We're teasing right now.
What was their, what was their tag line on this thing last night?
The, the raw rocks are something out there.
Oh, I can't remember what it was.
It was so cheesy.
But as you just heard, the muppets were on raw last night.
I didn't have a problem with this.
I thought it was done.
I was worried.
Are they going to do anything live?
Is this all going to be backstage?
And they're quite a bit low.
You know, Kermit Miss Piggy, which I wanted to smack coal.
Oh, this Piggy talking about her be a Vicki being swagger's mom.
It was Kermit, not Piggy.
And he did it like three times.
Consider this source.
I'm, I'm so, that whole bit has got me so,
that's so sick of him.
I'm so, I know he's, I know that's his job.
But there can be such a thing as doing your job.
We need to slow the roll on that.
And I don't fully blame coal.
Because much like the Tony Shavani, that'll put butts and seats incident.
Uh-huh.
He's only doing what he's told to do.
But at some point, you have to go, you have to, you, you, you, you can look at vins and go.
Is this really the best course of action?
Yeah, it can be totally counterproductive.
And that's exactly what it's being.
But you want to take, you want to be a heal, be a heal.
But some of these shocks are below the belt.
Yeah, and, and the, and the entire product is suffering because of it.
I don't need, I mean, are we so, do we so not have faith in creative?
So bad that we think announcers have to be in the ring together.
I, I, I, I've wondered that myself.
And apparently, it, it wasn't just, a lot of things landed with a third less,
not not just on TV, apparently, that the crowd itself was just not into this show in the arena.
Well, I thought the Muppets were a bad idea.
Although I thought, for, like, I told you on a text last night,
I thought the bits were entertaining for me.
Yeah, but because we're pretty big Muppetheads.
Right. So, but, but, and I got one of the things I wanted.
We all, you and I got the secret and shameless face to face.
The shameless city wasn't going to make the family reunion.
That put me on the floor.
I was like, thank you, whoever wrote that day.
And the fact that shameless played it like he did, just a straight face is equal.
That, that alone should be safe for posterity.
I hope someone's got that, just that clip on YouTube.
And then playing the loop.
That just played the loop.
That had me crying.
I'm like, that was rude.
That was a little kid that was shameless.
Yeah, that was cute.
Normally, the spare kid kind of wears me out, but I thought that was funny.
I thought overall it was a better show than it's been.
But that ain't saying much.
But boy, we crammed a lot of matches in the last 30 minutes.
Yeah.
Well, I was kind of, I mean, when I'm at the point where I keep pressing the play button on my
DVR to see how much longer we have, like, how far into this, are we?
And apparently that JR thing was supposed to go down last.
Yes, I did read that.
He was in the arena.
But it does that mean JR is going to, because you know, next week we're live in the UK.
Exactly.
We're in London, next week.
So it's JR going to make the trip.
Well, that's what they were talking like.
Unless they're just going to drag this thing out to survivors.
Would you put it past them?
No.
Doesn't it before?
Unless they're going to make it about the, uh, the go home show.
It could be.
I don't know.
Please don't do it on the paper view.
For the love of the almighty.
Please don't do this on the beef.
I enjoyed them.
Back to them up at time.
Enjoy that.
Just don't ever do it again.
Yeah.
I mean, I like Statler and Waldorf up in the luxury box.
I thought that was funny.
You knew that was going to happen, though.
And then that had to happen.
I thought they were going to put that in that little box,
or Kermit and pick you where the whole night would leave them there.
You know, that, I don't think that would have worked as well.
You know, they had to have the balcony shot.
They had to have them.
I thought that gone.
The ganzo, fuzzy thing was a little bad.
That was failed.
That was probably the, my least favorite of the whole bit.
I just have one question.
Where the hell was pebbling abroad?
That's right.
You never saw him.
Yeah.
I read yesterday more.
There would be nine muppets.
And so I was counting as it went on.
But how many did we wind up getting?
Nine.
You had Kermit and pick you.
Steppler and Waldor.
Fuzzy and Kanzo.
Beaker and Bunsen.
And then you're nine.
And all animal was your nine point.
That was weird, too.
As guests, what was he guests?
He was guests ringing.
Yes, he was tired.
Time to keep her.
I thought he was going to do something with the ball.
I would have screwed up the match.
But you never saw him again.
Yeah, he rang it and that's about it.
He started it, but you didn't see him afterwards.
And the whole, the whole baker in Santino, thank you.
Anytime Beaker and Bunsen, honey,
do you or on the on the on the screen?
I'm in.
You saw the picture.
I posted last week of the two of them.
Yes.
Busters the early years.
That is genius.
Anything having to do?
I have the Muppet Labs play set.
Okay.
That's how much I love Beaker and Bunsen.
I've been a Beaker fan from day one.
And whoever came up,
who, and if you're listening right now,
if you're the person that came up with the sign of Beaker,
shameless as Beaker,
we, we owe you.
You double handed credit should have cut you a check that day.
And so should it Disney?
Yeah.
Because that was dog on genius.
Who would have thought it would culminate in what happened to
he.
We had our fingers crossed.
We're like, if you're, if you're a fan,
like we are of both the WWE and the Muppets,
if that hadn't happened,
we're short ever.
Yeah.
Because that, it was just like, you know,
create it was like, you know, we have to do this.
We don't, we don't have a choice anymore.
We have to do this.
That was, that was setting you up for the ultimate spike.
The ultimate volleyball spike.
One last little bit for wrestling.
If you've noticed,
both at the last paper view and last night and the night
and Monday, last Monday,
seen it not wearing shorts anymore.
He posted something about that on Twitter.
He has put the George to,
he has put the George to rest unless he said in 20 years if they come back again.
But he's going to be wearing these military cargo pants.
He has won for Army won for Navy won for Air Force won for the Marines.
And he'll be wrote in the new black shirt,
which has a lot of people thinking,
he'll turn again, rise above hate.
But he's wearing black.
That's why there's a spike in this.
I believe me.
I'm with you on this.
I'm like, yeah, come on.
We're reaching.
It's like, let's like Cody and I talked about last week on this very show.
If you ain't turned to Neil by now,
if it happens, it happens, if it don't,
it don't, you know, at this point,
I think we're passing.
And you know, I'm going to say it.
I'm a fan of the George.
I own a pair.
And I'm not ashamed to say that.
I'm more of a, a cocky shorts kind of a guy now.
As am I.
But you know what, nothing wrong with the shorts.
I don't know why people are, are dog and on shorts.
As long as you're not wearing Daisy Dukes,
we're all the George who wants.
I am not going to personally wear Daisy Dukes.
If, if you are, and that's why,
that's why you are a movement.
But if you remember of the,
of the population known as the,
the ladies,
and you can pull off the Daisy Dukes,
God bless you in more power too.
That's why I specifically said,
you me personally.
Not so much.
I wouldn't be content.
I wouldn't put that in a bet just in case I lost.
Horrible visual.
Funny, but apologize to all of our listeners.
We now have that visual stuck in their heads.
And you probably will for at least the rest of the evening.
But that's why this is a radio.
Yeah, it's an audio medium only.
All I'm saying is, you know,
if you need to be a turtle sunshine,
the spotless mind for that image,
I will not be offended.
Just please no photoshop gurus working on that.
Can you stop, please?
Because now you're putting ideas in people's heads.
We don't want another J.R.
It's the head from Michael Cole's Twitter account.
I got just named this week's episode.
That's going to do it for wrestling talk this week.
Remember, we are your one stop shop for all things,
sports, pop culture and professional wrestling
chads says one more thing.
Uh, someone got released.
I know it was put on the website.
Oh, he's not my Maurice.
I'm about Maurice.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm glad you mentioned that because I forgot to put on the run sheet.
Maurice was released.
Show of hands who's going to miss her.
Thank you.
Cricket, cricket.
And then she puts on Twitter.
I am free.
You're free from making money.
So she's free.
She's having a release party.
I'm like, really?
And she, she is a lady.
And I don't remember if you,
I don't remember me telling the story.
I watched the town today.
For the first time, right?
Great film.
Check it out when you get a chance.
I know you're going with this.
She ruined the ending of that film on Twitter the day it released and theaters.
Yeah.
Classic move.
And then she was like, oh, don't be mad at me.
I'm like, no, you're an idiot.
Yeah, you're a, you're a servo horse.
We can mention on this show.
Enjoy your time with Ted D. B.
I say.
Are they, are they like, for real?
Are they like, not that I'm aware of?
Okay.
I think he's married from that mistake.
Easy.
I thought he was.
Wow, that's unstable.
Well, you guys don't normally wear their rings on the show.
I'm not sure like AJ or, or, uh, divon.
Well, but, you know, I mean, normally whenever I have a significant other,
somehow they get worked into a storyline in real life.
Sean, D. B. I see never got that far.
Well, but, you know, but they had him working with, with hers as ballet and they made it look like they were a couple.
You know, so that's good to do with every ballet though.
Moving on.
Anyway, we are going to talk a little bit of person of interest this week.
This kind of ties into something ESPN films did recently on their deal.
And, uh, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about this.
And the, the reason I put this as person of interest is,
I saw a thing on Dan Levitard's show today and it kind of triggered this in my mind.
The sports agent.
ESPN recently did a thing called the bottom line on ESPN films and it was about an hour about,
it was terribly done.
I was going to, one of these days, we're going to do ESPN films as, as person of interest because,
30 for 30 great ESPN films not so much.
Yeah.
Drew Rosenhaus was, they did a little bit with him from an outtake from an interview.
He did with Dan Levitard on Dan Levitard show today.
If you're not watching, uh, Dan Levitard is highly questionable.
I'm not getting paid to say that.
It's a fun show to watch.
I think I've watched a couple of things.
That's hysterical.
Uh, but his dad is priced.
Oh, his dad is very Cuban.
Very Cuban.
You think.
What is, what is his idea of romanceing his wife was taking her with him to play Domino?
And then the next day, who, they had somebody on the show and they referenced it.
I was like, wow.
The sports agent to me, if you're somebody like Endomikon Sue or Andrew Luck or
someone of that else, someone that you know is a top 10 pick.
I don't know that they need an agent.
But for somebody like a Mike Jenkins from South Florida, who is letting me down as Donald's cowboy.
Or somebody that's maybe a section or a third tier player, I kind of get it.
But I think the sports agent game is something.
I don't know that there's a guy like if I decided to tomorrow, I want to be a sports agent.
I don't know that I could be successful.
I think most of the agents you have right now,
those are the guys that are going to be around there.
So he's got Boris's the Drew Rosenhauser.
There's so deeply entrenched in what they do with the context that they have.
But I think they hurt just as much as they help.
I agree.
Does Drew Rosenhaus is he going to get TO to a team?
When he does a public workout that he announces and no nobody shows up.
Show up.
It's like if you, if you have a workout, nobody shows up that it really happened.
I mean Rachel Nichols from ESPN was there.
Okay, who's she going to get it right?
Take her to it.
And all we really, we can really say about that is.
Oh darn.
But my question is,
how does, I mean,
is this a necessary evil in sports today?
As a sports agent, I just, I never have really anything.
Well, I think they made a whole movie about it.
I'm very successful on it that, you know.
Charmin, bye.
I mean, do we, do we have a clear cut definition of difference in the
responsibilities of a sports agent as opposed to a manager?
I think a manager more handles your personal affairs,
where has an agent more handles your professional.
Does the agent get you signed and then a manager handles you once you're signed?
If you're lucky, if you're lucky.
And I've always said this.
I've said this before about athletes, especially football athletes.
I honestly believe that every division one college should have a position,
kind of like a guidance counselor, but it's strictly for the athletic department,
basically called a faint counselor.
And what their job is,
specifically their job, what they get paid to do is go, okay,
the likelihood of everybody in this room, making the pose is about a one in 10,000 shots.
However, if you get there, my job is to tell you,
talk to you and tell you how to deal with the press,
how to properly present yourself, how to not have certain elements that you may have had
in your life earlier in your life now.
Yeah, come back and want you or, well, I mean,
probably more importantly is to make sure that their ego doesn't get so swollen,
it'll long or fit to a doorway.
But ego, you can't really help.
But to look at somebody and go,
boogie and Ray Ray, don't need to be around you when you're in a press conference.
And when they call you and go, Adam Pac-Man Jones,
let's go to certain establishments that you're not supposed to be at.
Right?
How to say, no way, not going to happen.
Yeah, I don't, I'd rather not have my career hard proved.
Exactly.
How to manage your money?
When you get that first check, don't buy a $7 million house,
much less multiple $7 million.
Yes, that was going to be my next thing.
That's less two or three.
How to invent, you know, we talked about it on this show.
The Minnesota Vikings have a voluntary financial planning service
that they have 100% participation in.
Nice. That should be every team in the NFL,
every team in major league baseball,
every team in hockey, every team in basketball.
I have a firm belief, I've said this for years.
And maybe, if there's any people out there that know agents or any agents that are listening,
maybe that's a service you need to provide for you.
Absolutely.
And I'm not saying, I'm not saying Drew Rosenhouse has to tell TO,
how to invest his money.
But he needs to tell TO, hey, I've got this, this entity, this company,
this who member it is.
They want to help you with your money and invest it properly.
So there is a life after the sport.
Yeah, I mean, I know that they have more than one handler.
I mean, the company that I used to work for, we had to deal with TO's handler.
I mean, because he needed to, he needed services that we provided.
And we never really dealt with him.
We dealt with his handler.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
But my point is, this is a service that I think every college and maybe,
maybe part of that faint counselor services too is
how to select an agent.
And but see, at that point though, I don't know if we're walking a line with an NCAA violation.
Because agents can't mess with these guys while they're still active playing.
Yeah, yeah.
So I don't know if that, that would be something weird for me.
I'd like to kind of look in a bit with the legality of that would be,
because to help guys say, look, these are the kind of things you want to look for.
If an agent comes calling.
If nothing else have a class for these guys their freshman year teaching them what are
and are not NCAA violations.
And I'm sure the agents are probably aware of what they can and can do.
But sometimes they had a guy on this thing on ESPN films who was the guy that they interviewed
for that article as I did and was tied the, like, the cover said, I remember the first time I
paid a player.
They had that guy.
He drove onto UCLA's campus.
And parked his car right across the street from the locker room and nobody said a word to it.
Wow.
True story.
And I was just like, and there's cameras on this guy, she's.
So it was this out, you, I wonder if this thing was put together basically in the wake of the whole Miami.
Oh, they filmed these things way ahead of time.
Oh, timing seems kind of.
But my only problem with that episode was they weren't really interviewing any,
like Drew Rosenhouse wasn't on there.
Like, there wasn't guys up.
No, like the one agent they followed.
I wouldn't have known who he was if he walked in here with a t-shirt saying, I'm the guy that was on the ESPN's.
The dotted line.
I wouldn't have known.
Who do you represent though?
There was one guy from South Florida.
I didn't ice.
I don't want to ruin the ending for it, but you get to the ending you're like,
and then he represented a guy from Notre Dame.
And it kind of followed him from a time that he signed them and sailed through through the NFL draft and everything.
It's a decent watch.
Don't go out of your way to find it, but it's not bad.
If it's on, if it's an honor, man, I'll go ahead and check it out.
Yeah, check it out.
But again, it's the sport agent.
It's person of interest this week.
We'd love to know your opinions.
You can email me, rob at the clubhouse with RobinCody.com.
You can email ClotCody at, oddly enough, Cody at the clubhouse with RobinCody.com.
We love to have your opinions.
We want to hear you, your voices in the chat room live.
And if you miss any portion of the show, you can listen back in our chat room.
Almost immediately after the show goes off the air, it's in our chat room.
I work diligently to get this thing up as quickly as possible in debut.
I've seen you do it. Yes.
I tend to be a little technical savvy.
I'm a bit of a geek.
Speaking of things of sports nature, let's talk a little MLB.
Oh, this is gonna hurt.
One quick, late breaking headline.
Speaking of which Aaron Andrews is on my television screen right now.
She's tasty.
CC's the Bathia and Brian Cashman, both sign extensions with the New York Yankees today.
The Bathia now being paid into his late 30s and paid a lot of money.
Good luck with all that.
CJ Wilson also says there is a good chance.
I believe he said great chance that he'll resign with the Rangers.
You know what that says to me?
Believe me when I put him to power.
It's just like sting.
What's the only thing that's that's guaranteed?
Nothing's for sure.
Tony Larusus, congratulations to him.
We're tiring after over 30 years in the managerial business and over 40 in major league baseball.
Good night.
But you know what?
What else is the guy that's got to prove?
Nothing now.
And go out on top.
Yeah, no kidding.
Speaking of going out on top, let me put my throat back.
I am the smartest man alive.
This is why this is gonna hurt.
On this very show seven days ago,
the voice you hear right now said this thing's going seven games.
And if it does, advantage Saint Louis, I raise my hand in victory.
I called it.
Now talked about it a little bit
with Cody on this show last week and we weren't sure actually I was two weeks ago.
I called seven games because that's what I called Rangers in six.
We were a little bit worried after game five.
As we were going, and Cody did call that we weren't going to be playing baseball last Wednesday night.
He said that thing gets rained out.
We go Thursday Friday because we go Thursday Friday because I got to keep my prediction intact.
We get through game six.
Oh, I'm going to this apart for a minute.
I want to say something to the sports fan here in the Dallas Fort Worth match point.
There's a little concept that I want you to understand.
Not you specifically use your chance to it, but I'm it's the the royal you.
It's called putting the cart before the horse.
I had been rehearsal on Thursday night, game six,
middle of the seventh inning.
There's still two and a half innings to play.
Stop by, you know, a place known for its golden arches.
And on my way home, there is a place called Academy Sports and Outdoors.
I texted you.
At this point, the Rangers are up to two runs.
The line at Academy for World Series Ranger Champions gear is already the length of the building.
And it's raining.
I could not believe that when you said me that.
And it's raining. Are you kidding me?
I got home and people ask me why the fandom in this town drives me absolutely insane.
This is a prime example.
I get home and I go, I look, I have given up on the game.
I'm like, this thing's done.
Congratulations, Ranger Paul.
Now, I have a service on my phone called score center from ESPN.
As do I, they let me know at the end of every game. What happens?
Well, I get home and I have been home in 30 minutes and I have it heard in the end.
So I'm like, this is odd.
So I pull up score center and we're at the top of the 10th inning.
But whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, wait, what?
And immediately after that happens, you text me and say,
Josh Hamilton, two run blast. I'm like, okay.
Josh finally woke up. Here we go.
Rangers got it done.
30 more minutes. I still don't get it.
I'm like, you got to be kidding me.
So I pull up score center.
And dog garden if the Cardinals haven't tied it up again.
And here we go to the 11th inning.
I'm like, you've got to be kidding me.
At this point now, the Rangers have been one strike from winning the world series twice.
So I hear of the game on in the bedroom.
So I walk into the bedroom.
Where am I wife is watching it?
I literally walk into the bedroom.
Turn my head to the TV.
Correct.
David Freest wants just one into the stratosphere.
And I went, are you kidding me?
It's crushing so crushing.
Now granted, of course, that was the moment
of I am the smartest man alive.
Because at this point now, we're going seven games.
And I knew, I knew if we went seven.
Well, I said that morning.
I said the Friday morning.
Even though I was talking to a little bit on Thursday night.
And I talked to some people on Friday morning.
And I said, here's the thing about this game tonight.
This is going to be literally who blanks first.
Because both of these teams are exhausted after playing 11 innings last night.
In a series that has literally been grueling.
You know, I said it on my Facebook page.
This has been an insane series.
So we get to game seven.
We find out that the Rangers are starting
Harrison and not CJ Wilson mistake number one in my opinion.
Yeah, what's your going up against Carpenter?
Where somebody had put on on on Facebook that morning.
Good friend of the show, David Pike.
That the only time Carpenter's ever pitched with three days
for us to give up four runs and went three innings.
Which my opinion was the flip side of that coin.
The last time, last time a road team won a game seven in the world series
was the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1979.
Yeah, I didn't vote well.
So this is this is even this is a pickup at this point.
Top of the first inning two runs on the board here.
We go now.
I've got the game on my laptop because I'm trying to get some stuff
put it off my DVR.
So I'm watching the game on my laptop at the same time.
So I'm like, okay.
Get to the bottom of this first room.
Poo holes intentional walk.
Burkman intentional walk.
Freeze strike one.
Whoa, you're pitching the freeze and what is he do to run double?
At that point I went this could be over.
Because any momentum at the Rangers have I've garnered at this point
has now been taken away.
This is an even game again after one inning.
I felt the life go out of that team whenever Nelson Cruz
blinked going back to the wall in game six.
Here's my problem with that.
And I've said this on this show, if I said it once up to 100 times.
John's talking about the, uh, the needy kids in third world
countries are getting us 2,000.
Oh gosh, yeah, I knew that was, I knew somebody was going to do it.
John who is a St. Louis fan.
Guys with a St. Louis fan as long as I've known him.
Here's the thing.
Nelson Cruz.
Again, if I said this on this show once up to 100 times, stop trying to get on sports
center and make the play because if you don't make the play,
you're still going to get on sports center for the wrong reason.
And he did and he did, he was a good what eight feet from that.
Stop trying to make a ballet leap and catch the ball.
I mean, you literally saw the panic in his eyes whenever he knew he was getting
to the warning track.
That was it.
Yeah.
You, you put your, you put your team back on the on the chopping block.
And you put St. Louis back in that game.
I mean, because that was it.
That was game over.
Literally, that was series over if you catch is that dead gum.
I mean, I can't put it all on crews, but, but that is what the air went out of the balloon.
But and and Cody and I talked about this as well.
You know what that was?
That was that team was arrogant in game six.
There was arrogance going into game six by the ranchers.
They thought this thing was ball set match game.
Whatever you want to call your tennis reference.
What they found out is you're going up against the St. Louis team.
It's got experience.
You're also going up against the greatest player in the game today being Albert
who holds.
Funny, and even though he didn't, he wasn't as effective as he couldn't.
He wasn't came free.
That guy's presence elevate the team.
Now, somebody asked me the other day, do I feel that Ron Washington is on the chopping block?
I do not know where this guy is a player's manager.
His his players love him.
But he's got to get to that next level.
And that next level of being a champion.
And I said this on Facebook Friday night.
I said Ranger fans, you now have back to back American League championships.
Don't don't look down on him.
So there's nothing to hang our head over.
Use this as an experience.
I just don't want the the Rangers to become the buffalo bills of major league baseball.
And I understand what you're saying, and I'm glad you brought that up because
there's a huge difference.
Because there's a lot of people saying, well, they're going to be the braves of the 90s.
There's a huge difference between being the buffalo bills of baseball and being
the Atlanta Braves of baseball for a one simple reason.
The Braves one one.
Yeah.
And I people are making those comparisons.
We won one.
My beloved braves did win a title.
Just the always a bride's made never a bride thing.
It's just kind of a sick feeling.
Yeah, but you know what?
This team hasn't earned that pain yet.
No, I mean, I know, but just just to go and back to back seasons in this day and age.
And not be able to seal the deal is just kind of heartbreaking.
There's nothing but time.
Oh, I know.
And I think that's what the Ranger fans have to understand.
You haven't earned the right to be this frustrated yet because you haven't won.
Be happy with where you're at.
Be happy with where you're going.
But, but you know, as you know, as well as I do, that nobody's ever happy being second.
But when you've never won anything, and you got the bronze medal twice now,
that's my whole thing.
Is these people above, above, above, plus I was also having a problem with the
these pictures of dead birds and caskets and dead birds on the road with the
don't mess with Texas logo, slow your roll speed, I said.
That's just the nature of the beast.
That's the deep back fan.
All the same.
Boy, we're just out of control tonight.
Did we lose it again?
I wish I did a thing.
Something is going on with our service tonight, and I do apologize.
Normally, I would not say such things, but the fact that we've lost it again and got it back as weird.
Another something going on with the connection or what?
We do apologize.
But that's going to do it for baseball talk.
We're going to continue on with a little bit of music news.
We're going to reverse these first two.
The lady you currently held here, the Adele, has canceled all of her dates for the rest of the year.
She is dealing with a vocal hemorrhage right now, a vocal hemorrhage.
That is what it said today on billboard.com.
I've never heard of anything like that.
So we want her to get better because she was supposed to be here last week, and our fair bird.
I think that's kind of what happened with a, oh heck.
Biggie, um, the heck is it?
Chubrock.
Isn't that kind of what happened to Chubrock?
I think so.
1990, Chubrock.
Now that you mentioned it, I think that's what they said.
That's why we got out of the game with the pornogram.
These, these, these starts from the specky process.
We also found out today that there will be a posthumous Amy Winehouse album set for release on December
the 5th.
It will be called Lioness.
Hidden treasures.
Is anybody ever referred to her as a lioness?
I've never heard of her referred to this.
Out of court.
That's what's going on there.
On the other end of the live spectrum, congratulations to Jessica Simpson who announced on Twitter that
she is pregnant with her first child.
Long she doesn't name a chicken of the sea.
Chicken name it rubber palm.
Oh, it's a boy.
It's a girl.
And I'm going to say it's so hot.
Still, what's great?
You could hear too much wind with like, through her head.
I kind of wanted to, to breeze those nice segway.
I don't want to breeze through those first three because I really want to sit and park on this
next one.
That's actually let's go forward one more and then come back to this.
Yeah, this is a major one.
A big birthday today.
Happy 117th birthday to the aforementioned Billboard magazine.
They had a little article up today.
The magazine started in 1894.
So do your math.
And all it was about was following things like circuses and carnivals and Vaudeville and live entertainment.
Music didn't really become a player in this thing until July 27th, 1940.
And the Billboard 200 as you know it did not come around until 1958.
117 years ago today.
Oh, wait, I believe that.
Now let's go back to this.
Clear channel.
What are you doing?
Seriously.
It's clear channel.
Well, but let's tell the story first and then we'll backtrack a little bit here.
Because I wonder how this affected us locally.
Here's the thing.
Clear channel announces today that they are there about to fire in quotes, hundreds of local
market DJs nationwide.
We've seen this come in a long time.
They're going to what what they call syndicated content.
So there's going to be a lot of these small markets that will not have any local
flavor at all.
But here's my thing as much as I despise clear channel.
I don't blame them for that.
We you and I have said and many people that we associate with have said for years.
That radio is a dying art to a restroom radio, especially because of the
advent of things like satellite radio was the beginning of the end in my life.
Once satellite radio kind of got its feet established,
because XM, if you remember, XM was originally only offered to truckers, right?
And what they found out was there was a bigger market besides truckers.
Once they got it where you didn't have to have a three-foot dish on your room.
Once they got that technology down, it became booming business.
Because here was a format where at the time you had everything was commercial free.
At that time, everything on XM was commercial free. This would be the late 90s.
I personally don't believe that Howard Stern didn't even think for it. No, besides give it exposure.
I think of Howard Stern quit tomorrow.
They wouldn't serious XM wouldn't hurt.
Because I don't serious bet that the farm on him and it was over $100 million a year. It was
five years. Just insane how much money they offered. They threw it in.
He was, he seemed like he was all bitter because it didn't. His followers didn't come out and
drogues and subscribe. Because they would have to pay for it. Exactly.
I mean, I know he gave away a button to receivers and whatnot, but still you have to pay for that service.
You still have to pay for that service because you are a serious XM customer.
And I love the service. I absolutely love it.
Also, the very medium that provides this show, I think played a bigger role.
The internet played a bigger role to me than satellite radio did in the absolute
what could be the demise of terrestrial radio. And I think there's one other factor as well.
The Jack FM style format whether or those of you that don't live here, Jack FM is a style
where basically there's no commercials. There's no, there are commercials, but there's no DJs.
Howard certainly referred to it as somebody putting their iPod on shuffle at a party.
That's kind of how I refer to it. I don't even know if I heard him say that, but that's what that's
what it is. And to me, call it bias because of what we're currently doing right now.
But having a voice on the other end of that broadcast brings something to it.
Like, I don't mind Jack FM in their format. I get it.
But I'd like to hear somebody talk about what I'm listening to.
Well, and I don't know if it's so much the talk radio has its place and music radio has its place.
And it seems like people are wanting less and less of the two being mixed together.
And I can, you know, and I kind of prefer it that way.
I'm not a real big fan of the whole morning zoo, and then a handful of songs thrown in,
and then the morning zoo comes back. I prefer to be just either all talk or all music.
See, I don't mind the mix of the two. Now granted, I, I make no bones at the back.
I'm a huge Bob and Tom fan. Bob and Tom used to be that way. They're not that way.
And see, I like it. If it's just them talking them, riff and I like it that way.
I think for me, having that extra song or two in there kind of, it's like a brain refresher.
To me, it just feels like a speed bump in the middle of the show. Not for me.
Because I'm just, I'm just wanting them to curb it back around and get back to the funny
banter. You know, but I also think that day of the, as you refer to it, the morning zoo is over.
I personally don't want my alarm to go. God, Barnett, it's fellow's money. We want to give away a
thumbs of dollars right now if you can name this out. Yeah. You know, that's just not me.
Give me something that's a format like we do here where what we can talk and we can be ourselves.
Play a couple of songs if for no other reasons, so I can go pee.
Just have a minute. And then come, yeah, have a music break. Come back and go, okay, you know.
Now we're going to throw it to Dave with the news and Dave says, hey, here's what's going on this morning.
As you're on your way to work. I mean, if that's your, if that's your absolute solution, it'd be like the dance break for the,
for the live band at a club. Exactly. I, I don't need somebody radio vomiting all over my car.
As I'm on my way to work anymore, but that's how they were brought up. That's why they went to broadcasting school.
You know, neither one of us did that, you know, but, but that's what they were taught.
You know, that's what these old school DJs that are probably being let's go by clear channel.
That, that's what they went to school for to learn how to do this. And it's passe.
It's a dying breed. You know, and that's how Howard referred to himself when he left her
rest of your radio on the last of a dying breed. I think there's still some some guys out there that are still getting it done.
I don't think he's the last, but I mean, I think he's the last successful shock jock that left to rest.
Because even O and A, already on on trust your radio at all anymore, if I'm not mistaken.
No, I think completely on sound like that. As far as I know, yes, I mean, we don't, we don't have our fingers in every market.
You know, correct. We probably should, you know, that radio info paid to that told you about for many years that I've been following.
You know, you see things like this coming and going all the time.
And I think when he refers to himself as the last of a dying breed, I think because he was referring to himself as the only person that's going to make this kind of a paycheck on this kind of thing.
I mean, who with a heck is going to pay our radio personality that kind of money again?
They don't have that kind of money. Exactly. And you know, the only person that I think that's that can, that
I hate these words to man that kind of money, but that will gardener of that kind of money because of what he has turned into is
Kidcratic or sea crest.
There's, there's nobody in the market that carries that show is there.
See, oh, and he's on mix one of two nine here, isn't he?
Well, I know he's on a kiss FM affiliate in LA.
But that doesn't mean he's on a kiss affiliate here because he's the morning drive there. And here it's the
juggernaut of Kidcratic. Right. Who's also nationwide there? Right.
So it may be one of those if we don't get whichever one of we don't carry in the morning,
it gets carried on and maybe midday or afternoon driving. So probably the only thing to me that's keeping
to rest your radio going right now is the very format that we are doing. Talk radio.
Specifically, sports talk radio. I think there's the only thing that people want to listen to.
Because if I want to listen to music, I've got a 160 gig iPod in the car.
And I don't have to worry about 10 minutes of commercials. Well, I mean, but you got your rush
limb off fans and people of his ilk, you know, that you got national public radio that has a very
huge, that has a very unique format. But I mean, when every other station on your dial is playing the
exact same thing at the exact same time, it's time, you know, as I would heart you to say,
enough is enough. It's time for a change. And maybe this is old man Rob showing up right now.
But I didn't really notice it until I was in my early 20s.
Then it was, you know, I had I had a bit when I first moved here at Dallas at that.
I dare you to in the mid 90s. I was like, I dare you to listen to Kiss FM and go an hour and not
here in Mariah Carey boys the man or there was and there were somebody else.
Sleepy. Oh, but and it all sounded the same and all sounded exactly the same and not not that as much of it's the same
songs over. It's the same seven songs over. Yeah. And I don't know if that was old man Rob starting to become old
man Rob or or was it just happening there was I just noticing it. Yeah. Well, I mean, how many times did
you and I say when we talk about a song that just gives us chills, it just goes just ugh,
and not in a good way. What is, what is what we normally say as to why we don't like that song anymore?
There's radio create. You'll kill them. You know, and I think it killed a lot of the careers of
people that were being shoved down our approach at Austin. You know, whenever we, you know,
as much as you and I both like boys to men, you know, I'll make love to you on Benedict the end of
the road became my mantra. I'm like, I got so tired of hearing that as much as I like them.
I got tired of hearing it. You know, and that's why I was strictly sticking to my iPod basically
by that point. You know, radio can't play what I want to hear anymore. Yeah. And again,
maybe it's old man me and old man you, they're just we're just setting our ways.
But we could not be witnessing a one step closer to the end of radio as we know. Uh-huh. I,
I really think we've passed the point of the end of radio as we know. Yeah. It's, but I think the
real way I use that term again, evolve or die basically evolve or die. And that's the way it's going.
And because technology moves so fast. Uh-huh. Because you're going to get left in the tarpets. The
fact that you don't, you can produce a full blown radio show, but you can really record an album
from a home office that you don't have to have the big elaborate studio with the 32 truck system.
And, you know, the wood on the walls and the egg crates and everything else. If you can make,
put a little shield in a home office, you can record an album. I mean, last time I checked,
that's why I just did beaver got to where, how just to beaver got to where he was YouTube.
Well, I'm glad you mentioned that because I do want to talk about this.
You are listening to the clubhouse with Robin Cody live right here in Ustream. I apologize for kind of
stretching this out, but I kind of think we've gotten into a bit of a good right here. Have you heard
about this act? The Congress is trying to pass. Oh, I know. Yes. Yes, I did. Where you can be imprisoned.
Like right now, you and I could go to jail because of what's in the background. Exactly.
Incidental music could be could be a five year prison term. That's insane. By that logic,
Justin Bieber's a felon. Yeah. Because he, he got discovered singing usher songs on YouTube.
This is ridiculous. Well, it kind of happens back to the thing that my leader was doing.
That was that friend. Remember that ridiculous story of him or somebody representing him,
suing some mob, whatever she filmed her baby dancing the Let's Go Crazy and put it up on YouTube.
Give me a break. Give me a break. Are you really, is this costing you anything? Is this hurting you?
I'm going to be as Congress. Really? Really? Really? Really. It makes zero sense to me. We don't make
money off this shit. And how is this hurting? How is this hurting the artist at all? It's giving the artist
more explosive platform. You know, somebody that may not otherwise listen to that song,
or know who the heck he is. Well, let's get into music new releases speaking of which you just heard
her have been in a go Miranda Lambert releases her new album for the record this week.
First, first single is out and it sounds like everything else I've ever heard from her.
That's like it bullet the point the last one we get to. That's okay. Okay. Currently you are
hearing YouTube's mysterious ways coming from auction baby the 20th anniversary edition of
auction baby releases this week. Let that sink in. The last great YouTube album for about a decade.
Dropped this month 20 years ago. You can get a two-disk set or you can get a six-disk
four DVD super deluxe edition if you've got a hundred and thirty dollars tomorrow night.
Showtime just debuted a documentary this past Saturday called from from the sky down.
With with these guys I watched it last night ahead of my TV are very very good. I was going to ask
about an hour and a half long and it's you don't look at it and like sometimes you watch
Bono and you just want to strangle him. Because I can tend YouTube greatest rock band in my generation.
Far and away. But sometimes Bono just just want to strangle him. Can you take this? Can you take
the sunglasses off? Yeah, please. But it was well done. They they've spent quite a bit of time
on ritalin hum itself which is kind of surprising. But they talk about a lot of how they wrote
octane baby and the direction it put them in. And then right after I saw commercial for another
documentary they're airing next Friday night of Billy Joel's last concert at Shastady. Gosh.
Oh, I can't wait. I think the DVR is set that your head probably exploded. Also current musical
darling's Florence and the machine released ceremonials today don't get their bit don't really care
but they're everywhere she really is she are especially mega death releases 13 today.
Dave Mustang sell out there. I guess trying to get it done. I guess so. And the i and the
e and the verse e and 13 are a one and a three because that's it's extreme. That's for work
clever like that. And then this Lou Reed and Metallica released an album called Lou Lou today
and it's not about your aunt. He has an aunt that calls Lou Lou.
I mean what else you have to say is one of these things is like the other and then the
aforementioned Justin Bieber releases a Christmas album called Missile today or under the
already two two singles already been released. But as much as the Bieber gets under my skin I will
give him this all the proceeds from his first single which I believe was just simply called Missile
tell straight to charity good. I can't hate the kid for what charity or doesn't I don't remember
I did name it I just don't remember what it was. I can't hate the kid for that. I can hate it for a
bunch of other issues just annoying. He's just annoying. That's gonna do it for music talk. We are now
gonna do a little bit of college football talk. This came down about oh, freeish today. The big
east is inviting six schools to join their conference. Three of them are going to be what I consider
to be the dumbest concept ever as football only schools. We have invitations to Boise State and
remember kids it is Boise with an S not a Z my mother lives there. I have to hear about it all the
time. Navy and Air Force. For football only. This is what Notre Dame does. Notre Dame is independent
for football only but everything else they're part of the big East. Then for everything you have
SMU Houston and the University of Central Florida. Apparently five of these they think can be done
within a week. Boise states going to be the one they said they're going to have the most difficulty
with Boise State currently in their first year in the mountain west conference with TCU until TCU
leaves next year for the big 12 SMU to the big east. Let me let me go ahead and pull something up
for upback because I want to look something up. The big east is where USF currently is. So you have USF
and UCF in the same conference which I think it could be a good thing. Yeah. I'm gonna pull
something up. I'm gonna pull something up real quick. As I really want to make sure I've got this
this absolutely right before I put out this next opinion. Okay here we go this is what I'm going
Boise State is where? Boise State is where? Why do you ask? I'm just I'm asking you. Where is
Boise State? And I don't know. Okay. The only things what what are they east of?
It looks like I was whatever you were going with Oregon and Washington State
and the Pacific Ocean. And I think this is why they're talking
um
football homie. Where's Arby? Where's what? I'm sorry. Where's the name of the cat?
Gosh where is the name of the cat? Where's the Air Force Cat?
That I don't know. Colorado Springs. Okay. Colorado Springs and Boise State do not
Air Force and Boise State. I'm gonna all flustered here. Do not need to be in the big east.
I'll give you a nap voice because a Maryland's in Maryland's in death. Yeah, it's on the
east coat. But that's I think that's why they're going football only because of the travel
schedule involved in conference. Uh-huh. If that's the case, go join the pack 12.
Pack is for Pacific. They are on your coast. They are not the east. They are the west where you are.
It's the same reason why it always confused me growing up that the Dallas Cowboys were in the
NFC East. I'm like, oh, don't even get me stormy. What? Don't even get me. The St. Louis Rams are in the west.
So go figure. Somebody needs to buy a map.
We're getting closer to what I believe is the inevitability of the four super conferences. That
will succeed from the SNC AA. You will have the winners of those conference go to a playoff.
I still think, and I'll tell you who I think is trying to muck up the works.
That would be what you see on that TV in the studio right now. The four letter network because
ESP has paid multi billions of dollars to carry the BCS for the next eight years.
If these schools pull this off and succeed from the NC AA, there's no need for a BCS system.
So once again, much like what I feel is going on with the longhorn network,
ESP is at their hold in the back of you. I can tend that this longhorn network will be the biggest
fungal in ESP's history. $20 million a year. They're paying. Do you see being around? I mean,
how many years is it? I don't think it's here next year. I don't think it is either. I think it's like a
five-year deal right now. I think they back out next year. I do too. It's just, I will say I have
actually seen something on it. Good friend of the show, Phil and Shannon, I was over there
outside the night. They have BIOS. They had it. So I've seen it. It looks just like ESP. What were
they showing? It was the Kansas game. Okay. It was like, like, darts or something, women's darts,
or whatever the heck it was. What would you say the first show that was women's volleyball?
Women's volleyball. And you can watch football practice on Tuesdays. Why do I care?
John, even if I was a longhorn fan, I mean, how deeply entrenched in longhorn network do you
have to be, where your DVR and practice, where you can practice, but somebody is that's frighteningly
obsessed. But I think that's where this is going. We're heading towards the form of super confidence.
All this realignment, but a new look at somebody like Boise State who's always on the outside
looking in. Now they join the BCS conference. I don't, I'm looking for the downside. I really can't
find whether geographically is the downside. Oh yeah. Because you see with football, you can, if
you're football only, you can kind of work your travel schedule around it because you're only
doing 11 games a year. When you're looking at baseball and you're looking at basketball.
Yeah, that's where the nightmare. That's where the travel schedule problem comes from.
So join a different conference. Well, you know, I, I, I, I probably need to
rethink that because you're going to completely destroy a lot of these long standing rivalries
that will now just mean pretty much nothing if they play to yet, if they do play again,
if they do play against each other, it will have no meaning. If they're in different conferences.
You, you'll still like, when, when Texas was trying to go independent or trying to go to a different,
you would still have to contract certain games. You still have to contract your color. Yeah.
But the big 12 is doing everything they can to hold on right now. They're trying everything they
can to remain a conference. God bless them. Now, A&M, they'll never play Texas again.
They've said that. Texas has said that we will never play A&M in any sport again when they leave
for the SEC. That is a shame. That is a crying game. So the game you see Thanksgiving Day will be
the last time you see Texas by Texas A&M in football at this point in the history of ever.
And what about Army Navy? That won't be affected. If that, that game may be going to be
a big East. That game is an American tradition. You don't ever get rid of that game.
Especially since Jerry's trying to get it here. As you're talking, shop, they're shopping it around.
I would, I would hope, but then, but like I said, it will, it will mean nothing.
That game will always mean something. Florida and Florida State play in separate conferences.
Oh. That game means something every year. You have certain rivalries that that transcend that.
Yeah. That's one of the few left because everybody's real money.
Speaking of Florida and their conference, the SEC.
Saturday night under the lights. Number one versus number two. LSU takes on Alabama
in Alabama. God. This game. If you are a football fan. I don't care what level of a football
fan you are. You need to be by the television set Saturday night at 8 o'clock Eastern five o'clock
on the West Coast. This a lot of people. I mean, now CBS is pitching this as the game with a
century. We just left the nauties behind this. Let's get a few more decades of the film.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah. But this is a huge game. This is probably the biggest game of the year.
Whoever wins this game probably going to go to the BCS National Championship.
Game of the year. Yeah. Game of the century. Whoever wins this game can go ahead in my opinion.
You can go ahead and punch their ticket for New Orleans. Yeah. In the circle.
Second week of January. Well, both of these teams were going to go anyway because you can't have
two teams from the same conference. Can't do it. It's as good as it looks.
Now, if you are anybody else on that BCS list right now, you're watching this game. Yeah,
I would think. And if you're playing while they're playing, you're DVRing this game.
You've got, you're pulling a Josh Beckett with the Boston Red Sox. Maybe you've got some guys
in the locker room, eat and fried chicken and, you know, doing that kind of a thing, drinking beer, drinking
drink and beer. Well, not nuts, college, I can't do it. And giving you updates.
The world will be watching this game on Saturday night. And I'm not saying that because it's my conference.
Because God knows my team is horrible. Horrible, horrible right now.
But this is the game. It's, it's about to be on.
I mean, if right now, let's look at the BCS. Of course, LSU1, Alabama 2. Oklahoma State 3.
Who the thought that? Let me reiterate that point. Yeah. Oklahoma State 3. Now, in three weeks
at Bedlam, that could change. Stanford 4, Boise State 5. Oklahoma with their Wednesday night
moves up to six. Arkansas 7, Oregon 8, South Carolina 9, Nebraska 10.
Stanford is the team that I'm going to be keeping an eye on in this deal.
Whoever loses LSU Alabama will probably drop to about four or five.
Stanford with their games Saturday night, going into double overtime and winning.
Against USC, who has completely dropped off. The only ranking they have is they're 21 in the
AP pole. They're not even in the top 25 of the BCS right. Who would have picked Stanford to be this high
up at the beginning of the season? Most experts did. Really? Andrew Luck. That kid's a beast.
He will be the number one pick on the draft. Barring, injury, or boring, any freakish accidents.
That kid is carrying that team. And we're going to talk about a couple of other teams here.
Let me get to who showed up and who didn't. This game is going to decide a lot.
But that's not the only game on the dock this week. But before we talk about this week's games,
let's talk a little who showed up and who didn't. As soon as I can put my computer to catch up to me.
Here we go. Who showed up? First of all, congratulations to the University of Houston.
Last Thursday night. They played rice. Well, you could say that they played rice.
Why showed up for a game? I showed up. And lost 73 to 34.
Quarterback case kingdom 24 for 37 for 534 yards. 9 touchdowns. Let me say that again. 9 touchdowns
and 1 pick. Same. Let me break that down farther for you. His touchdown pass plays.
18 yards. 20 yards. 21 yards. 22 yards. 37 yards. 41 yards. 47 yards. 57 yards. And 60.
4 yards. He has 534 yards of throwing. Their total offense was 656.
Why receiver Patrick Edward. This is my favorite stat of any college football from this past weekend.
7 catches for 318 yards. He averaged 45 yards per catch. That is unheard of.
Now, let's not put him in in in in in high school here kids. It is still a Houston versus rice.
But I will tell you what case kingdom has put himself in the national spotlight.
Who he is on Sundays? After he graduates is completely and totally up to him.
I don't see him as a top 10 pick. But I do see somebody taking him.
First round, maybe mid-second round. He'll go Thursday night or Friday night.
They had one penalty for 10 yards. Houston, my wife has some cousins that are
who graduates. Congratulations. You are in the national spotlight.
I mean, after a game like that, hopping in on me. I got up and I saw those numbers and my
jaw hit the floor. By the way, number 13 in the BCS. Jeez. I'm just saying it. Also, the other
team that I showed up this week. We talked about them earlier. Number 10 in the BCS right now,
Nebraska. With a 24-3 win over Michigan State. Running back Rex Burkhead 35 rushes for 130 yards
and 2 touchdowns. Plus, another catch for 27 yards in a touchdown.
But, after all that, you figure he had what? That's what? 157 yards? Total offense 270.
Welcome to the Big 10 Nebraska. Let me say something. Big 10 football. Very slow. Very grinding.
That's what the Big 10 does. Very slow. Lot of running.
Then we get to quarterback Taylor Martinez 7 for 13 for 80 yards, a touchdown in a pick.
He has 6 yards less than Kirk Cousins on the other side of all.
They had three fumbles, but they recovered all of them. Nebraska trying to fit into the Big 10.
Very odd conference this year, but they're holding their own. Except the fact that they got
demolished by Wisconsin. Who didn't show up this week? We talked about them a moment ago.
Texas A&M University.
3831 lost a Missouri. You lose by a touchdown, but you put up 500 yards
and you lost and you had 18 yards more total offense than Missouri did. You put up 317 yards in the air.
Fumble twice and lost them both. Through the ball to 9 different receivers did Ryan Tannail,
but only the top 8. I'm sorry, the only the top receiver had 8 catches for 66 yards.
Ridiculous. Texas Tech. What happened to you? You go into Norman Oklahoma and you
a treat. The Oklahoma sooner is like a scalded dog and then the next week.
Your host Iowa State and a beach of 41 to 7. Iowa State who burned me in lock of the week.
Took you to the wood shed and all yellowed you. That's the one that threw me for the biggest
loop. quarterback Seth Dodge 16 for 32 for 171 yards and two picks. You put up Texas Tech.
Put up 290 yards of total offense. You know how much Iowa State put up 512. Gosh.
They almost doubled you tech. What's going on in Lubbock? You punted the ball 9 times.
But my question is, is this a case of the broken clock being right twice a day?
What was the Oklahoma thing of fluke with them having so many kids out?
Did tech just did lightning a bottle or what? No pun intended because that game wasn't whether
don't lay for a while. I just don't. I don't know how to read tech. I really don't.
I mean, I don't know. I don't know if that was a fluke when. I just don't know what to say about.
Was it a fluke when the week before or a flukey loss? This was a valid point. We're going to have
keep an eye on tech for the rest of this year and see what they do. And then there's this.
A team that I said may be finally past the flukey curse. We've talked about them on this show for a month.
Clemson. I want to read each of your next individual right now. I took you minus three. Thinking
you're playing Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech a team that we talk about always in the conversation.
Another one of those always a bridesmaid never a bride. But it's clumsy. They're on a roll.
And then you go out and lay a 31 17 egg.
As my first bullet point says about Clemson and here is the other shoe. We've been talking on this
show for three weeks. Is this the week? Nope. Nope. Okay. Is this the week? Nope. No. No.
Is that yeah? This is the week. And that's when I pick you in rock on the week.
You I always state an aisle. All three of you guys are on my bad list right now.
They put up 44 yards less offense than Georgia Tech did and you lose by a two touchdowns.
Quarterback Taj Boy did have a pedestrian as Cody likes to say a pedestrian day.
23 of 40 for 295 attached down in two picks. Not a bad day. They had 95 yards on the ground.
You know how much rushing yards Georgia Tech had? 383.
One guy probably had 95 yards.
The one week I put any semblance of faith in Georgia Tech and they reach up and they bite me on the
took us. Go with your gut. Go with your gut from now on. Clemson that's for you.
Make it mean mad. I put my blood pressure for the roof. That's going to do it for who
will show it up. Who didn't? We are not going to do locker the week this week. That's Cody's game.
I want to keep Cody to have his game. By the way, if you are a fan of college football
and you can get up early on a Sunday, check out Cody's playbook. That is at 10 a.m. on the East Coast
7 a.m. on the West Coast 9 o'clock central time on this very eustring channel. He's going to
break down the weekend college football for you. He'll give you his own BCS top five. He will also
preview the next week. Currently in the studio, we are watching Northern Illinois in Toledo because
that's the only thing on ESPN 2 right now. Northern Illinois 42 38. So adjust your fantasy
numbers accordingly. So locker the week. I'm just going to say I went by default because he wasn't
here in the span. I saw a commanding one game lead. I am currently going into this week. I am
6 and 3. Cody is 5 and 4. Maybe what we'll do later this week is Cody will send me some
some games to check on. I'll pick one. He'll put him on the Facebook page. I think we'll do that.
I'll give him a call later about that. Again, you are listening to the club house with Robin Cody.
We are live every Tuesday night at 8 on the East Coast 5 on the West Coast. We are your one
stop shop for all things. Sports, wrestling, and pop culture. We are going to continue on with
a little bit of sport. Have sports have pop culture. I guess is what you could call this.
And I need to get some music to do. Because there's really...
There's only really one headline that we're going to talk about when we get into MMA talk.
Because there's not really much to talk about. Well, you had two guys retire.
Oh, that was last Saturday. What's up? My dates are getting all screwed up.
UFC has their paperview last Saturday night. BJ Penn loses a unanimous decision to Nick Diaz
says in the press conference afterwards he is retiring. Says he wants to be able to
compete at the highest level and does not feel with a lot of these kids now that he
wants to be able to complete sentences, too. There's bullety tookout.
Did he want to have been the hospital after this match?
I missed the paperview. We talked about this last week. I was actually downtown Dallas
seeing a friend. Got the name of docked. Great show, by the way.
Great show, Hunchie was Hunchie. The goblins were the goblins.
And what else can you say? Did a tearful up on the corner of your eye? Did you have a man cry
moment? I really did. I don't think Andrew showed up. Oh, he did.
Friend of the show Andrew showed up. So I want to thank him for coming by.
He missed most of the goblins. He was there for Hunchie. Oh, man. What's it? The goblins actually
went and just going on early. It's because the air for the first day didn't show. Oh, really?
And I think dock learned a very important lesson on Saturday night with a if you're going to be in concert
like that clown makeup a pan. Oh, no. He was an evil clown. Do we have pictures?
Oh, I'm sure they're out there. All the base player was a certain hand signal that we probably
don't talk about on the show because the family show. Was it the Steve Austin salute? No, it was,
oh, no. Yeah. Was it electrifying? Yes. Okay. There guitarist who acts so intense. Look just like one of my
uncles. He was, uh, it's not going to gallop from the platform or in truth. And Ramon Ramon their drummer
was, uh, he had the Mickey sorcerer had on. Hunchie came out and matching tread. They're matching
tracksuits, the red tracksuits with the H on it. Both bands great. Guys, don't make it another five
years. That's what I'm saying. Please go. Anyway, back to what we were talking about. I have to see the
next one. That happened with the BJP and which really, that kind of shocked me. Shock a lot of people.
I like BJP and a lot of things a great fighter. But you know, if the guy says he can't go,
who am I to say? He got, he got devastating. He looked. He was in really bad shape. I saw the
picture of that. The Mickey as is a bad man. Yeah. He was the one that was supposed to fight GSP.
But then that's right. But then, but then Dana told them he couldn't be in the main event
because he missed two straight press conference. Right. The guy that was supposed to fight GSP
said he'll just wait out. And so GSP's healthy. He could fight it again. We want to fight
at the edge once to fight GSP because he feels if he takes another fight. It's going to screw up his
chances at getting a shot of the title. That's his true. A week from Saturday, we from this
Saturday, November 12, box has its very first UFC event. And we'll be on free TV. Heavyweight
title on the line. Tane Velasquez Jr. does Santos. Give him that fight away. They're trying to
hype up this new deal. I understand it. I'm not complaining. Heck. You have that kind of
card away. Heck yeah. We also had the announcement today. UFC 141. Which they said December 30th,
I think it's actually going to be on New Year's Eve because New Year's Eve is a Saturday.
Because it is all right for fighting. I'm going to go to UFC.com and check on that real quick.
But the poster has been set to let you know about its main event, Brock Lesnar versus former
Strike Force Heavyweight Champion, Alistair Overrime. That's going to take place. I love this song.
The new thing about this. At the MGM. Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The poster has both Lesnar and Overrime facing each other on it, giving their
stats. Let me break this down for you. UFC 138 was this past. Is this Saturday?
By the way, Birmingham England. I was not too far from the wide shelf down.
Lesnar. 6-3, 265. Overrime. 6-5, 256. They're saying
Biggest main event ever. Just physically. That's a lot of humanity, Nevada.
And you know what? As I have done my fair talk about
About Lesnar over the years. You're not getting here. We deny that.
But given what this guy has gone through. And he keeps...
I just have myself in the mouth. I have nothing bad to say about Brock Lesnar.
I just hope he doesn't do anything to make you eat those words.
Like you just about ate that microphone. I almost said that.
I'm still not a drink a lot of milk. I have strong bones.
Maybe they're broken into you. Maybe flesh. I was like, ah, gosh.
People at home are going to do much wrong with you.
I'm looking through this, um, Tiago Elvis fighting on this Saturday night.
And is this on Paperview? I hope not. Because when I do it in England,
it's just like... We already know it. Yeah. I'm going to do it like a two in the afternoon.
Well, it's at 8 p.m. there. So that's two in the afternoon or time.
So... I don't know. I just... I hate when they do them overseas and put them on Paperview.
Because by the time you, if you watch it and it's going to be on,
it's going to be online. It doesn't say anything about...
Watch it. It is a paperview. Wow.
Go figure. They got to do... They got to work at a better deal with it.
By the way, you are hearing a band called the letter black right now.
I was about to ask you, you asked me what I thought it was a Christian band.
This is a Christian band? Yes, sir.
Ah, and my heart...
So...
I'm almost like fly-leaf or something.
Fly-leaf also a Christian band, I don't know.
Are they really?
Not my daughter's a fan of that band. I've been she doesn't even realize what she might.
Well, she knows because she's like skill-in-law.
Skill-in-law is also a Christian band.
I told her she's here when her gym is here. They're their headlining winner gym next year.
I told her she's here. I take her.
When is that going to be March 23rd?
Which could be right around her spring break. She has to go check her.
Okay.
But that's going to do it for MMA talk. We got a little sidetrack.
But Paperview this Saturday!
And then you've got the Fox thing next Saturday.
As they gear up for their huge multi-million dollar deal with Fox,
they will be care-ethics. We'll carry the ultimate fighter next year.
I hope this works out for them. That's huge.
A little bit of NFL news.
NFL films.
Interesting week in the NFL. We're going to run down some games for you.
We'll start with my beloved Miami Dolphins,
choking another lead.
I watched this game belt about. It was on here low.
Actually, it was on locally.
It was a CBS early game.
Eli Manning, 31-45-349-2 touchdowns.
Reggie Bush has a decent day.
My Dolphins need to get it together.
Peter King said today on PCI. He goes,
I honestly don't believe that the Dolphins are in these suck-for-lux moves thanks.
I really think that because they've been in almost every game they probably just keep losing.
I don't think they're trying to just mail it in.
Colts.
But...
Ouch.
Hey. Just saying it.
Houston, my Dark Horse wins another game going out.
Being the Jacksonville Jaguar's 24-14 match-shob 16-3225 yards in a touchdown.
My Dark Horse keeps getting it done.
Baltimore over Arizona and a game where Baltimore trailed in this game for most of it
and just clawed their way back into win 30-27.
But still, Ray Rice, 18 rushes 63 yards, but three touchdowns.
He got them in this game. Ray Rice, you need to use a more.
That's a balancing act. It has to be.
St. Louis explained this game to me.
St. Louis over. Last week, New Orleans goes out on a Sunday night and the Colts could...
New Orleans could have left the field and it still would have taken the Colts 3 plays to score.
That's how bad a 62 to 7 losses.
Yeah.
And then you come out and St. Louis beats you with their back-up quarterback.
I can't.
St. Bradford did not play in this game.
Yeah.
That, he may have...
Is that put his starting job in jeopardy now?
I don't think it does because he's done nothing but lay eggs here.
AJ feeling, I know.
It's beyond. It's his AJ feeling.
I know, but you know what?
Your top performer was still Steven Jackson, 25 rushes for 115-9 yards in two touchdowns.
Yeah.
If you were the backup quarterback, if you've got a running back that can get it done, put it in his hands.
It does not vote well for Bradford though.
I have said that about the Dallas Cowboys.
It's time to let the Marco Marigis run wild.
Uh-huh.
We'll talk about that here in a minute.
Cody's Dark Horse Minnesota wins, beating Carolina and Cam Newton,
24 to 21.
Cam Newton.
Adrian Peterson needs to get the ball more.
You won without him hit in the century mark.
That is a rarity.
Adrian Peterson needs to have 100 yards rushing in order for the
Minnesota Vikings to win a game.
They win 24-21 Peterson, 21 rushes for 86 yards in the touchdown.
Newton, 22 of 35 for 2-90.
This kid's a gamer.
I hate to say that.
Because the whole Cam Newton thing really kind of put the bad taste in my mouth for a long time.
They have been for a lot of people that did, but the kid can play.
A lot of people that still can play at this level in that team.
Would you go to the Carolina Panthers and you put up almost a thousand yards rush
passing in two weeks?
That's called making a silk first out of a salesier.
And by the way, uh, Steve Smith, you were holding.
Steve Smith goes off on Ed Hawkelly, who is one of the premier referees in this league.
Says some 70-year-old referee gimping down the field saying, first of all, Ed Hawkelly could take me
right now if you wanted to.
And he's not 70, he's 60.
But great shape.
Go back and watch that play, Steve.
You were holding.
You got called for holding.
When you have your arms wrapped around a guy, that's hoping.
I was 2,000 miles away.
I saw it.
I tend to put a little bit of faith in hockey league.
That's the only referee.
And I like Steve Smith.
I think Steve Smith is a great player.
But watch what you win about and who you win about in this league.
Go ahead.
I'm just saying they tend to look out for each other.
Indie goes down again to the Tennessee Titans.
27 to 10.
I mean, do we really need to go into this?
14.
Indie's bad.
That's 14.
Indie is just bad.
And let me tell you something, Indie.
Don't let Peyton turn this into a bargain chip.
Because a lot of people are saying Peyton could try to take over their draft and not let them
draft Andrew up.
I am of the firm belief.
Peyton Manning is done.
I am too.
I hate to say that because I think Peyton Manning is one of the quality guys in this league.
I am a Peyton Manning fan.
I'm not a fan of his brother.
I'm a fan of Peyton Manning.
Never be Florida.
But if you're done, you're done.
Yeah.
But let me tell you something.
If he can't play, you put a headset on that young man.
You think?
It's the first week he was there when they were opening on Sunday night football.
When they showed him and he had an earpiece in.
Tony Dungy's first words were,
best possible assistant coach you can have on that field.
Okay, when he said put a headset on my like in the booth or on the side.
No, on the side on the side, put him on the sideline.
This is a guy that he's a leader.
He knows and he can coach.
I've never seen a coach down.
I'm not saying give him the O coordinator job.
Let him be a quarterback's coach.
Let him be the guy that's going to motivate that team.
But does he want to do that?
I mean, I'm almost thinking that it would be like acid in his mouth.
Guys guarantee $24 million.
I know.
I know, but I mean, does he want?
He's not going to do it.
But is he happy with that?
I bet he would be because he's got so much personality.
I would love to hear him up in the booth as a commentary.
Not yet.
I think he's too early for that.
I think he needs more time in the game.
I don't.
He paid him won't be happy in the booth until he feels he's done with the game in general.
But you and I both fought the same thing about Eggman and look at him.
We thought there's no way this guy's going to be worth a hate ride.
I paid him with surpassing.
Oh, I bet he can't hate me.
Payton has to be completely done with the game itself.
You're saying I'm saying.
And Payton still feels he can be productive in the game in some role that he needs to be there.
When he feels that his usefulness in any capacity is done, then he can step away.
And I think he would be.
He would be effective.
Yeah, maybe so.
I could just totally see him falling in there.
The same thing I said about coward when he left Pittsburgh.
Uh-huh.
I said he's not going to coach for a while.
My dolphins have reached out to him.
I don't know that that happens.
The dolphins have reached out to both him and group.
Allegedly.
I don't think either one of them talk serious until we know what our drafts does is.
Yeah.
Buffalo built in Toronto.
Beat the Washington Redskins 23 and nothing.
This team's for real.
Buffalo.
I never thought I'd see that day where I would say Buffalo could probably win the A of the East.
But with Miami as bad as it is, the Jets, you can never trust them from one week to the next.
And the Patriots with wiffully waffly as they are.
Buffalo that beeping sound you hear could be Buffalo backing into the playoffs.
I would, I would love to say that happened just because you felt so bad for them in the 90s.
I didn't because they were in my division.
Well, I felt sorry for them and we were the ones that were consistently beating them in Super Bowl.
The Detroit Lions win again and a win over the Denver Broncos 45 to 10 and a win that
Detroit, I was on board with you.
I was okay with you.
And it doesn't bother me that should be Tim Teebo.
Teebo's got easy he needs time to develop.
But when you sack him and you do the Teebo pose right on top of him.
This thing where people are doing what looks like the thinker, but this would be him praying.
I have a problem with that. That's over the line. That's classless.
And then a receiver did it in the end zone on a touchdown.
And then to come out and be a unnamed player that wants to talk trash about Teebo,
how he's the worst quarterback ever and he can't play and he'll never play in this league.
You want to be a man? Say who you are.
An unnamed player.
Yeah, an unnamed player said these things. Please.
I have this to say to you.
That's what I have to say to you. You want to run your mouth. Say who you are.
I mean if you if you want to be an unnamed player like in the NBA with these negotiations
are when not, I'll go there with you.
But if you're going to run your mouth about somebody be a man and say who you are or just shut up and
I'm not hard to find.
I got me fired up. And in dumb I can sue.
I don't know. He ran his mouth a little bit.
He had a meeting with Roger Cadel today. He wanted a meeting with the league to clarify certain rules.
And the league gave to him.
He says now he has a better understanding of what's expected of him.
Okay, I'll give him credit for that.
Since a nanny, what is going on with the Bengals as they beat a bad Seattle team?
34 to 12 on the road. Andy Dalton, 18 of 29, 168 yards, two touchdowns, two picks.
Andy Dalton, T.C. you alumnus. Alumni. Is it a single alumnus?
Gosh, I don't know. What the proper wording of that.
I'm I'm some stuff. I think alumnus is the singular. Alumni is the plural.
Yeah, it is. He's playing well with this league.
Can't complain.
Can't complain at all.
San Francisco, the 49ers.
20 to 10 over Cleveland. Frank Gore acting like somebody told him he's an NFL running back where he goes 34
wretches for 134 yards in the touchdown. Go.
Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go.
You know what? I'd be okay if that Dallas San Francisco rivalry kind of comes back around again.
That was fun rivalry to watch. Speaking of those Dallas Cowboys, we're going to hold
off because there's one more day game. Pittsburgh, beating New England 25 to 17,
Rothless Burger 36 to 565 yards, Brady 24 to 35 for 198 two touchdowns.
I bet you, I bet you a bar where I crack a smile at some point. I bet you.
And I'll thank him for being patient because it helps my division. It's true. It's not going
to help my dolphins because we can't win a way or a people bad right now. But I'll tell you what, though,
Brady gets the ball with a minute and a half left, man. That's a gamble. Yeah. It'sburg
held them off. Pittsburgh, I thought, this is the other game that I watched most of.
Played well. Pittsburgh played. I mean, they're going to have a problem this week because they're
hosting the Ravens and four of their linebackers are not going to make it onto the field.
Really? That came down today. But it's in Pittsburgh.
Baltimore had a little problem this week of Arizona. They're going to get their things
get their poo together. They get their head right with a ball. And that's a prime time game. I believe
that's Sunday night is it? Speaking of Sunday night football.
This was a debacle. I gosh. Philly hosting your Dallas Cowboys and beating them like a drum.
34 to 7. You blinked in this game was 14 to nothing. Dallas didn't score until very, very late
in the fourth. And I was blinking a lot because I was hurting my eyes to watch. Well, you know,
Rob Ryan says going into this game calls Philadelphia the all-hype team, which it's not, it could
be debated either way. But you don't want to give that team bullet more material. No.
I mean, they've got enough reason to hate Dallas all the way 30 rushes for 185 yards and two
touchdowns. You can't. Oh, Dallas. I mean, where do I even start? It was a nightmare scenario.
This was another case, right? I think the Cowboys walked in there thinking they were going to run
Russia. I don't know what would make them think that. I mean, to Marco Murray, eight rushes for 74 yards.
Yeah, he rushes 74 yards average almost 10 yards a rush. And you know who the, who the, what
Russia was underneath him and those rankings when one rush for nine yards? Tony Rumble.
That's sinking man. Now on the other side of the ball, Michael Vick seven rushes for 50 yards.
You know, I think this team is having, there's just so much issues with the Dallas Cowboys right now.
The Eagles now with this win. I think they're going to get a little bit of swagger to him.
The Eagles could start to get scary because Andy Reed is 13 and 0 in the week after the buy.
And all they need is winning percentage after the buy is over 600. All they need is just a little bit of momentum.
And, and beating Dallas in that fashion gives them a lot of win that their sales. Yes, sir.
That's, and then last night, San Diego travels to Kansas City and loses in overtime.
Philip Rivers with a botched snap for a bumble which leads to the tying touchdown.
When you have him on camera and you can read his lip saying worst day ever.
See that. Oh, yes, sir. Yes, sir. He did.
San Diego is another one of those teams. It's very, very hot and cold.
Mm-hmm, Kansas City. I don't even know what to make of the chiefs this year.
The chefs, I don't even know what, I can't tell you what to make of Kansas City, but let's look at look ahead to this week's games.
We start at the early games. My beloved Tampa Bay Buck and here's travel to
New Orleans with the
Looking their wounds saints who are undefeated at home this year. I need Tampa Bay to get back on the horse and ride
On the other side of that coin, my beloved Miami Dolphins travel to the Kansas City Chiefs and what could probably be our next loss of the year moving on.
Dallas hosting Seattle. I think this is a game. Seattle's one and three on the road. I think Dallas can try to start to write the ship and get back to 500 with this game.
Pete Carroll's Seattle Sea Hawks are not the Seattle Sea Hawks have last year. Yeah, they got it. They got to start somewhere.
And we're approaching that time of year. We're Dallas's schedule tends to get airy as we approach Thanksgiving day.
Now Thanksgiving night, probably not going to have a problem.
Because my beloved Miami Dolphins go. Oh, yes. I was there's John and I were actually going to try to go to that game.
We're rethinking that.
I may be in San Antonio.
But you can't say you wouldn't go if you had the opportunity just because you've not seen a game in there.
I've seen Miami play the dog play the I've seen Miami play the cowboys, but not in that stadium.
Yeah, I was there when Ricky Williams ran all over that 40 to 21.
Because then you could really scoreboard me. I've actually seen an event, but it wasn't a game. I've toured it twice.
The Atlanta Falcons at the Indianapolis Colts this. Oh,
Atlanta trying to stay competitive in the NFC South Indianapolis. Just trying to win a game.
Just trying to keep it at a mobile board. We have a battle in the AFC East as the jet travel to Buffalo.
The jets have not run on the road yet this year. They are oh and three on the road.
And I don't think they're going to start this Buffalo undefeated at home. Yeah, I don't think they're going to start this week.
You know what? Again, I would not think I'd seen the day where I say give me Buffalo over the jets.
Houston, my dark horse hosting the Cleveland Browns. Well, you know, give me Houston.
Yeah, Cleveland's still trying to find an identity. I think they're going to get there. I think Colton McCoy will work in that town eventually.
I mean, they've won three games.
Since the nanny traveling to the former oilers in Tennessee,
both team since the night three and one of the road, Tennessee three and one at home.
I don't know how much longer the Matt Houselback magic can work in Tennessee,
but it's working so far as well. Classic scenarios of something's got to give.
The 49ers undefeated on the road take on the two and one at home, Washington Redskint.
This could be the early game to watch on Sunday. That's that's that's even though you won't watch it in this town.
If you don't have the NFL Sunday ticket because the Cowboys will take preference. Yeah, sure.
But that's going to be a great game. Also an in the a set Tennessee and Cincinnati's a late game,
Oakland hosting Denver. This could be three to nothing. This could be 49 to 20.
This game can go either way. There's either going to be a lot of points scored or none or none.
There's if this isn't going to be 27.24. I still think Oakland wins. I think Tibo is still adjusting to Denver.
I don't know if I if I'm him if I have a lot of confidence when they ask my coach.
Are you going to start Tibo and you went for this week? Yes.
Don't cheat.
That poor kid. The giant New York Giants going to New England. I think New England beats up on them. I think New England's they're at home. They're undefeated at home this year.
They're trying to get the ship right it. Uh-huh. That's just the way I see it. Green Bay at San Diego.
Man, Philip Rivers, you think last night was the worst day ever. You're hosting the only undefeated team left in the league and the defending superball champions.
Who's quarterback seems to be able to walk on water right now.
Aaron Rodgers is on fire and turn it to wine exactly exactly.
St. Louis goes to Arizona. This will be a horrible. Yeah. Oh, I'm sorry. Arizona Cardinal fans. That's going to be a boring game to watch.
You're Sunday night game. We talked about a little while ago. Baltimore at Pittsburgh. Baltimore
Bring your A game because you're going to Heinz Field. I don't know how the line-backer situation is going to affect this game.
Some people seem to think since Pittsburgh is at home. It won't. This is still the Baltimore Ravens.
This is still a team that is hungry this year. Ray Lewis has said if we can win this year, I'm done.
Oh, really? Yes, sir. He has said if we can make it all the way and get the ring, I will retire.
This is a team that's on a mission and I can't believe he's still playing at the level that he's playing. That's it. Do this motivated.
I didn't kill her football. And then you're a Monday night football game. This could get Harry next week
as the Chicago Bears go to the link to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
Monday night gets a decent matchup for the thing. Finally, they were showing. I don't know if you saw this during the
cowboy game on Sunday night, but the next three Sunday night games are all division rivals.
NBC's killing the SP. Yeah, I don't know. Is Cadel just
does he not like the SPN? Is that what's going? But this Monday night games Chicago Philadelphia is going to be a good game.
That's coming. Good. Watch. So that being said, the street light is on. It is time for us to do the list.
We didn't get to do the list last week. Cody had to run early, but we are going to do the list right now.
This is the list we were going to do last week.
It is officially followed. It has officially been followed for about a month and a half. We're
almost halfway done with Autumn. The first day of Autumn was September the 21st.
I think a shot count. And I sure didn't feel like it in this part of the country.
But Autumn is my favorite season of the year. You know, when I'm not sweating in July or
freezing in January or in between in March, I'm in Autumn. My favorite season as well.
What I thought we'd do tonight is my top 10 reasons that I think Autumn rules. And it just
does. The big number 10. I can get from my front door to my car without needing a shower.
I have grown up. I grew up in Florida. I live in Dallas now. Summer time is brutal.
I feel like I have to wear a tank top to the car and bring a change of clothes with me so I can change
when I get to where I'm going. So I don't smell all that. Number nine, I'm able to drive
with the windows on my car down on purpose. And not because I have air conditioning in my car.
But I can put the windows down, save some gas mileage with a nice breeze coming through the
car. Amen. Did that a lot to do. Number eight, if you live in Dallas, you know exactly what I'm
talking about. The second golf window of the year officially opens. There's only two windows
of golf in the year. It's about three weeks in March. And it's about three weeks in October.
Otherwise, there's no grass or you'll be dead by the noise. You can't make it. The ninth,
I think you're being generous. It is part of the country anyway. And so I'm what you're drinking.
So I'm out of a golf pierce. I don't want to really don't do alcohol, of course. I just don't
have a plate of full course. I would know. I haven't played about four years. Number seven,
it happens for weeks from Thursday. The fourth, there was somebody on Facebook
there to ask when Thanksgiving was. How do you not know that Thanksgiving is the fourth,
Thursday of November. It's the same time. I learned it when I was in the first grade.
But Thanksgiving, there's just something about Thanksgiving. Now especially since you have a triple
header on Thanksgiving day, three football games plus college football. And I'll be honest,
I don't get up early enough to watch maces. I can't. Usually we're traveling the night before.
So I want to sleep in on this. That's one of the things that my mother instilled in me.
And I will have to keep that traditionally. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Number six, my power belt. It's kind of bad. I mean, my power belt for this month is already
150 hours less than it was last month. That's a beautiful site.
When my power bill is more than my car payment, that's insanity. It's it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And which weird is the power bill goes down. But my gas bill
although it does go up, there's no balance there. The highest gas bill I'll have is about $175.
And that's a dead of winter like January. Yeah. My highest power bill will be almost $400.
There's no balance because my power bill will drop to about about what the highest gas bill will be
As long as I remember to, you know, turn the lights off. I contend that my wife in the past life.
Oh, the lighthouse because she at least every light in the house on all the time.
Number five, we talked about this in person of interest a few weeks ago.
The state fair fair. It comes at the perfect time a year where you're not going to die out there.
Some of the one of these days, I'm actually going to get to go back there again. I don't know.
I haven't been in 20 plus years. Number four, and this is something that I've only experienced since I moved to Texas,
the changing of colors. That's one of my favorite parts. Even though it's not nearly here, like,
up in the north, you've been in the northeast in this time when you were in the service bread.
There's something about New England and the fall bread take. Oh,
except for the Patriots. But even here in Dallas, we do have to leave so long off the trees. And there's just
something about that that I didn't have growing up because in Florida, there's four seasons,
south of those four seasons, early summer, summer, late summer, and next summer. That's it.
No, we were talking last week when I got a little bit chilly out. Remember when I told you,
this was Christmas day in Florida. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's right. You know, it's
60 and we're breaking out the heavy winter codes. You know, maybe without my scarf, it's it's
74 and I got the band jacket ready to go. I love cold weather because I've always said you
could always put more on. Number three. Experience this just yesterday. Oh, I did over the weekend.
When you walk outside and you can smell somebody's fireplace burning. It's to me, it's it's the tag team
partner of in spring and smelling that first barbecue fire. Yeah. That's that's a great point. You know,
just to smell it, somebody's fired up that fireplace. And a lot of times you're like, it's still too hot to
do it. But that's a borderline man crime moment for me. That first smell that first fireplace or
that first time you smell the heater on. Uh-huh. He's mother does burning in the ducts. Number two,
we just got finished with it. The world series, the fall classic baby. Thank God, the NFL's playing
because if the NFL wasn't playing right now, all we have is hockey. As much as I love hockey,
I need number one to list. Yeah. And number one on this list. We got it on the studio right now.
Football, football, football, football, football, football. Did I mention the word football?
What other means? One of the things that makes fall what it is. There is not a person
a male put this way that you and I associate with that does not believe that life starts in August
and it ends the first week of February. I mean, what do you think about the fact that we have now
officially passed a halfway point in both college and pro football? I can't even read my head around that.
We're about to hit week nine. And the NFL wasn't today supposed to be the day that the NBC
isn't started. Yep. Tonight was supposed to be opening night. It was supposed to be as they
sound PCI. It was supposed to be Dallas Miami. Yep. It was a Dallas Chicago.
I thought it was Dallas Miami. It just boggles the mind. It absolutely.
And what kills me is Yahoo still tells me what games were supposed to be. Yeah.
Chicago Dallas. Okay. And it says canceled right next to the ESPN score center does too.
It just makes me sad. Yeah. But that's the list. We appreciate you being with us. We appreciate
you listening. Make sure you listen to Cody's playbook Sunday morning at 9 a.m. central. Cody
will get you caught up on everything college football. After that, until next Tuesday night at 8
on the East Coast five on the West Coast for the absent Cody and for the in studio chat.
I am Rob clubhouse my friends is closed.
Is that it? Is that it? Yes. It's over. How'd you like it? I don't know. I slept through the whole
thing. Oh, you didn't miss much.
