Yes um But Cody asked one of the one of the items on the list was Dolly Parton's version of stairway to heaven I don't know if you've suffered through this thing Yes, I have but he was wondering when it was recorded and I didn't know and I couldn't find the quick answer So I did some research over the last week The album was called halos and horns And it was recorded in 2002 Yeah, I know it was within the last deck. Wow. I mean, I was just like wow didn't believe it was that It's just I don't know She started going through her major plastic surgery meltdown in era.

I believe I still contend that nowadays She looks like wailin flowers as puppet matta she really does That's just me that is a dated reference to some of you younger kids in the room. I'm not sure So Sorry, we're trying to get these technical bugs figured out today Thor is gonna have a sequel I mean granted Thor does have I guess you could call I wouldn't call it a full rogues gallery of villains But he does have people that oppose him and things of its nature I'm not sure that this film warranted a sequel But apparently it has a director the director's name is patty Jenkins The only feature film on her resume is that of monster I believe that was the Charlize Theron Oscar-winning bit She also did the pilot for the AMC series the killing we're just talking to somebody about that show the other day It was one of those you thought it was gonna be solved in one season and then they went So that Thor for two also said to be released in 2013 year after next there You are listening to the clubhouse with Robin Cody live right here on you stream We appreciate each and every one of you here had to call an audible tonight Chad is back with us I think okay gotta work it again.

Okay, and she directed the pilot for the killing Okay, I don't know Oh, that was the AMC show to killing Oh, she directed the pilot the thing that looks like heavy rain made for television kind of kind of sort of Not to be confused with chubby rain because that was different No, the PS3 game where it's constantly raining and there's a serial killer loose You got me on that well I noticed in the in the TV spots for this it looked very similar the storyline look very similar Chad is a very big gamer for those of you that do not know him He tends to outshine me on things of gaming things and today was a very big day We can talk about that here in just a little while that guy in particular.

Oh, absolutely The lone ranger has a release date. So apparently this thing is back on absolutely may 2013 Johnny Depp and the guy that played the vinkle boss twins in The social network will be will be in this thing but isn't this planet supposed to be a burning ember by 2012 Well, you know, you know, you got to play it anyway You know, I mean because what kind of a harm fall is it if the if the planet does blow up next December It's not like you're gonna need the money. I'm just saying kind of like the vault.

There's another sequel that has been announced and I'm gonna be honest I don't even know how to say this. Oh, this was when I thought it was I this is very this is very scared track. I thought it was this is a white heart track called load ranger I thought it was art of noise I was close to the edit oh No, I do I do have that though.

This is going to happen Uh, apparently the way this is going to work The father of one of the kidnappers from the first one That Liam Neeson dismembered. I'm sure Has bowed revenge and then he takes Liam Neeson and his wife who in this one will be played by the very hot Famka Jansen He takes them hostage and then the daughter has to help them escape Let that sink in for a minute. I wish that the puzzlement on my face could be interpreted with audio because Huh, isn't Liam Neeson supposed to be like Like a super ninja like doesn't have to wear the mask because he's such a bad a coming in and dismembering people and showing them their entrails as they die But his daughter is gonna get him out.

Yeah, like apparently he's supposed to make Chuck Norris nervous with his abilities But this makes my brain hurt. Yeah Chalk that up to unnecessary sequels Absolutely because if you've not seen taken do yourself a solid and see taken that movie is amazing And and just as a sidebar as as far as just sequels that kind of came from out of nowhere Were you aware that they were actually working on a script to a sequel to the long kiss good night With a very similar premise. I had heard rumors of that Many many many moons ago.

This was on because it came on again today Me and the wife called you actually watched that movie. I think that's one of rainy harland's better flicks You know who wrote that the original The greatness of Shane black oh really yes tell tell the listeners who Shane black is responsible for the scripts for all four lethal weapons as well as what may be six what may be uh uh What many people refer to as the Renaissance piece of Of Downey was kiss kiss bang bang Very underrated film right what he wrote critically acclaimed didn't do a lot of money He wrote and directed that and apparently he's been tapped to do Iron Man 3 As well Shane black has That's according to IMDB Shane black. I just think anything we do after Avengers is gonna be weird Well, he's not gonna have anything to do with this long kiss good night sequel They're trying to do you don't remember long kiss good night was uh Gina Davis and Samuel L Jackson where it wasn't she had amnesia right she was actually a super spy and he was like her Handler kind of kind of like the way salt played out last year.

I saw I didn't see that film. Yeah, you were missing much. You know guys.

I don't want to make sure I didn't think I was missing I mean, I'm surprised to hear you say that you did not care for the long kiss good night I really didn't need and I guess because And that came after cutthroat island if I'm not mistaken uh Oh, I think it did well it seemed like long kiss good night was 96 And I have a miracle the internet. Apparently the plot line of this thing is that she's been killed off Gina Davis has been killed off and Her daughter is going to be avenging her death for whoever's response. Why not just making a different movie I don't know you're because it works so well for speed too.

You're your preaching to the choir here Blues control. Look at what they're look at what Tarantino's been batting around for the longest time for kill Bill volume 3 It's the same dog gun thing and also doing the prequel to reservoir dogs with the with Vinnie and Vega and his brother and that That'll never see the light of day Long kiss good night was 1996 that's what I thought Um because that the the girl that played her daughter is You know is of the right age. You know, she's in her 20s Let me see what I can find out She hadn't done cutthroat island was the year before.

Okay, so I was spoiled by Sir soil not spoiled soiled from cutthroat island. I just really didn't care about anything. She could go go do archery in the Olympics or something Well, I mean, it's it's a great flick I mean, it's it's something that I really did think they should have built a franchise around because she was a an interesting character This is this is directed by the guy that directed die hard to And die harder and the greatness of Ford fairly Let me take a look and see there was someone that's going to look at me or talking about the long kiss good night I didn't remember was oh, I want to see how much money it did Probably not a lot.

It's one of those movies is it just kind of got lost in the shuffle. It never really found its audience I'm pretty sure Jarza Clay had a song on the soundtrack. It had a good soundtrack.

I do remember that much budgeted 65 million dollars grossed 89 So it so it opening weekend it did nine million dollars. So it so it it made its money back Yeah, you know, I had a great and I mean that was my first question Why would you do a sequel if it didn't make it much money back? But I don't know But that's as of 1997 so that would have to be box office worldwide and and I think it's some of the greatest lines in Brian Cox's career I like Brian Cox a lot and Samuel Ajax and it's some great moments too before he really hit it huge We've gotten a little off track here and I apologize.

We got a little bit off track And we talk about how sometimes I talk about how I'm too old to be young but too young to be old And this is why this next story doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

There are three young people Who will have their hands and feet immortalized at man's Chinese theater very soon They're names. Oh, no, you probably know where this is going. No, she can see the look on my face.

Yes Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner So we so we have already made them hollywoody lead off the one little teeny little bopper movie Well one series you could say she got hurt today apparently During the filming a snow white did she trip over a branch? I hope and break in half because she's that small Hope so but apparently she got hurt during the filming a snow white today So I mean yeah, I'm with you on this Cody. I mean Really we're gonna put those kids next.

I mean, I don't know. I just totally would geek on you I was gonna go right next to r2d2 But we're gonna put them in the same place as Kerry Grant and people of that ilk I would I would hope that The kids from Harry Potter would already have their footprints. Let's see.

I mean, so I'm showing that he's here I mean, I'm not saying I would put either one of those groups in but I would think if you were going to put one in It would be the Harry Potter kids first because they've been around for a decade now That's but yeah, well how long the twilight thing been going on about four or five years now? Well, I think of the three I think he's got the best shot lotner. Yeah, yeah, I think he's more I think he's got a more marketable look and a more marketable Uh persona, but to me patison will always be that character.

We hadn't have a good mob movie We hadn't had a really good western in a long time. He's never done a western hasn't I saw his very first role He was playing some cheesy built cowboy or something You know what you're right, Cody. You're right.

Well, but see the dark night really don't only give you a little bit of who Aaron Eckhart is an actor But you saw him as a multi-dimensional character. No, Zarty But I think it's very very difficult now to make a good horror film that doesn't turn out to be from your leg because that's all it is anymore Well When you're when you're inundated with this torture porn genre like the saw films and the final destination films hostile Yeah, we're well, we're apparently doing another one I mean if the only reason that you're going to a horror film is to watch the creative ways of which people get dismembered I mean, let's not even go down the human synopeed road for the You know then You know, you know, we get on Hollywood for not having original ideas all the time It's like I can they come up with something new But and then they give us something like this which is kind of new. I mean, but don't make a hundred more just like it well But I mean, I was watching nothing but trailers the other day and I saw back to back trailers that were Group of kids got caught up with an evil force and they start dying Well, that that has become its own subgenre I'm with Cody stop making movies for three years Yeah Everybody go to a vault for three years and think and that's it I have a con-fab and if you bring me something back I get first rights to refusal if I read your script just you just yeah, and I think it's crappy Back in a vault you're the higher authority exactly back in a vault you're the cut Chuck Cooper's team of movies Oh, that's a local joke also coming out this Friday a movie that in and in really What you're in on this Mr.

Yeah, because I was like three musketeers The Disney 1994 version cozy in oh Yeah, love it. One of my favorite movies ever. I'm like great three musketeers I love the story and we're putting a chicken and I'm going no Rob what no Because I love the musketeers probably is maybe not quite as much as you but rather rather around the same level Every trailer I saw this I'm like this has got yuck written all over.

I shake my fist that you Paul W. S. Anderson for this yes Go back to mortal combat, but you know what's what's good sad though It's gonna do a bajillion dollars.

I don't know. I don't know about that with this public the way things are going now We'll do a bajillion. I don't know you you I mean we've we've had what we thought we're gonna be sure fire hits Come out of the gate and just fell flat on their face.

I like him as being on the TV show The movie I was out on and this the first Johnny English did done thing for me now you're my shirt Now you're lovely wife as we talked about on this show of British descent. I think the list of things that Austin Powers is ripping off is long and distinguished on purpose Okay, so now I can get back to playing with Darius Rucker was talking This neck this last thing on this list I am in I am in I am in I have heard word about this film for the better part of a year and finally hits theaters on friday I may try to find the place this weekend to watch it The name of the movie is called being Elmo Oh, yeah, this is a no, but this is a documentary chat. Don't don't don't go don't leave on me yet This is a documentary about the puppets here that works Elmo This I don't know about you Cody, but this fascinates me Yeah, this is a pretty good store. I think it's a pretty good subject kind of off the wall, you know And anytime like it I kind of liken this to when when Vince McMahon pulled the curtain back in WWE And we got to learn what life was like behind scenes this fascinates me if it were being big bird I'd be a lot more because they all have such a power down from me.

I I want to see this I really really do and I've talked to you about saw this at South by Southwest earlier this year and said put your Elmo bias to the side This is a phenomenal documentary Like this will knock you clean out by the end of it Cuz I remember they they've had a couple of local interviews with this cat that does the voice of Elmo any when you hear I mean heck when you see him you're like really That's Elmo you think you think Martin short would be Elmo. Yeah, it's pretty much good call good call Oh nice DVD blew right new releases this week take a deep breath Pirates of the Caribbean on stranger tides Is your is your big marquee release this week Cody did you see this? No, I did not I did Chad said he really liked it It it redeemed the franchise I think I thought the third was terrible It was I will agree with you the third one it took a nose dive This one it went a long way to winning me back because by the time they got to part three I was so out on Orlando Bloom and Kira Knightly.

I just I'd had enough of those characters And they have nowhere near this thing plus it's got the greatness of the image so It's a great image and Penelope cruise which she adds a lot. There's there's a lot of really good chemistry between her and uh This maybe one I wait for on stars. I don't know that I would rent this you probably wouldn't because like you said You were kind of soured by the first and so I but I think you'll like I think when you get around to see and you'll be like Okay, that wasn't so bad Also this with today.

I'm so excited about this I will get my hands on this whether it's a rental or not by the end of the week We now have animated one of my favorite stories of all time as Batman year one It's your DVD of Blu-ray shelves today. It's got that real 30s film noir style of animation And I'm very interested to see how this story's told I have read this story a bajillion time. Don't kiddin And there's it's so heavily influenced Batman begins.

Oh, yeah Cody in Yeah, anything Batman. I'm usually it. That's what I like to hear.

That's why it's my boy right there and I mean We went Batman crazy today so 45% on rotten tomatoes for the Cameron Diaz vehicle bad teacher out You know what this this is worth the rental for me Yeah, it looks like it had some funny funny parts to it and the the great Jason Segal It's the only argument I need. I just I just have this bad feeling that the best parts were in the trailer I just got this sinking feeling. I'll see it Also, I kind of put these buildings into one bullet point because it's kind of the same thing The latest Kevin Smith opus red state hits today 58% on rotten tomatoes It's my leader.

I have to do it. That's it's it was at the red box key Oscar. I was just wasn't really Wow almost got it this miss maybe this may be Friday night.

I'm thinking okay I was gonna wait on you before I also on DVD on Blu-ray today Kevin Smith too fat for 40 This was a Q&A he did on his 40th birthday in his hometown and it was great I will as soon as money settles itself. I will purchase this Go you're kind of on the fence with him, aren't you? No, I like some of his stuff.

I mean it's some of his stuff's good. I'm in I'm in on a lot of the early stuff Jersey girl clerk stuff like that but I have such a bad taste my mouth with um What was the Bruce Willis bit he did yeah To me you have to take cop out out of the equation I do I because he didn't write it That nothing about that felt like a Kevin Smith film to me unless you have the Blu-ray He watched the maximum comedy and it's the only thing that makes that film watchful of my opinion. Yeah I'm right there with you on that coating.

I think Sunday as we go to taladega, which is a super speedway stricter plate race I think this will be the race where your kind of your pitcher gets clear um This is a race that I think will separate all these guys because a lot of these guys don't race well and big super speedways You've really only got just a handful of guys that's in the chase that's one at taladega of course They'll junior Jimmy Johnson Tony Stewart's one a few times at taladega So this is a pretty decent racetrack where if Jimmy Johnson wins He's right back in the pack and trust me. He's the odds-on favorites to win that race He races very well. They're Kevin Harvick's one-a-time at taladega So this is a racetrack is a big racetrack It's the biggest second biggest track after the Daytona Motor Speedway and Daytona, Florida So this is a race where you can kind of start getting a clear picture of who your champions Gonna be So where are we going?

Oh, there are a lot of people that I know That aren't I am I'm out of Alba iTunes for eight bucks I'm that way with certain artists, but there are certain artists that I want that CD in that. This came down on billboard.com today filed for bankruptcy you be 40 has filed for bankruptcy Now I also didn't know that the guy that's seeing right now left in 08 I didn't realize they were still to kill for the time being with all the retro tours my gosh You should be able to make it but you know, you know, you should but that here's the thing The way the story read was the band file for bankruptcy Just take a guess on how much debt they had American because they did the conversion Oh gosh, if it's anything like that men and work debacle from a couple years ago Uh What 20 million Too many zeros 20,000 a little closer actually 88,000 dollars.

Okay, now I couldn't tell though if that 88,000 was what their debt was or what if that was the court costs for the bankruptcy I couldn't imagine that a bankruptcy court would charge you 88,000 dollars because you're already going to bankruptcy anything But apparently an arrangement has been made that all of their further royalties are going to go to their creditors until this thing is handled and whatnot But I saw the story and I went This song this is eighth grade for me Gosh, when was this 87 86 87 junior year for me With college Oh, yeah, you know, I had to get one in um, I just I read this story and I was like wow, I'm so sad because I mean these guys were so I don't even know how to describe it. We had the Broward County fair You had the date county youth fair that's what we did the state fairs up towards the center of the state We never we're more driving so you were better off just going to a parking lot carnival at a grocery store And I had I love those.

I love those I may be in a minority on this show, but I love those I did back in the day, but you know Nowadays it scares me a john does talk about the Palm Beach County fair absolutely as well But I've actually been to the Texas state fair You've probably been there since I had and I think my my bit here is real simple the older. That's all he has to do He last I knew he profit and this is after paying all the organizations that do the deal blah blah blah blah blah He nets over a million dollars a year in that month because he charges a ridiculous amount of money It's about five four fifty five bucks for a corny dog, but it's also a corny dog the size of your head I didn't really is good. Oh believe me the fair pretty much stays in tact Cody I mean when I was working for a pest control company They were one of our contracts and I had to go there every month. I had to service the cotton bowl every month twice a month and uh Nothing really moves anymore the midway the midway stays as you see it if you attend the fair The midway doesn't look any different all year long.

Just there's no lights on I mean for me. It's like go there when you can get rides traveled They used to but they don't bother with it anymore Huh, I mean the the the rides that they have can travel but they just don't need to Unless they just want to break them down for overall maintenance For me it's go on a day when somebody can give you a ticket or you can get in for two cans of food Because right now if you went to the state fair if you didn't go on like a special day or have a free ticket It's 15 bucks just to get in the door and how much is it cost a park? I think $15 Yeah, so you're already 30 bucks down when you walk in before you bought one coup Go the bubble so they don't tear down the bubble house anymore Well, I'm just saying this the hard standing structures.
