Do not adjust the space of time continuum, it is Saturday, I'm trying to do this since Thursday, that we have.
It is 2 o'clock on the east coast. It is 11 a.m. on the west coast.
So the US coasters, maybe just now getting up and around, good morning.
It is also known as Super Bowl Eve, throughout the land, which is why the clubhouse with Robin Cody is on the air.
We were originally trying to do this show Thursday night, and we had to push it to Friday night, and we had to push it to today.
We apologize that it is taking so long to get this thing on the air, but the snowtory is BIG had a little something to say about it, and we kind of had to roll with Mother Nature.
But we are here, we are live right here on Eustream.
Welcome to our Super Bowl. Can we say Super Bowl? Can we get to see it?
I'm not going to, I don't know if anything to fill a fish.
Our 40th anniversary big game edition.
Yeah, I'm saying that.
A couple of things.
Case you've been living in a cave?
Super Bowl 45 takes place tomorrow at approximately 6 p.m. Eastern time, featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Pankers.
A couple of things. This is the fourth Super Bowl, matching two teams whose history predates the NFL expansion era of 1960.
Being now the other three were Super Bowl 14, Super Bowl 41, and Super Bowl 43.
So this is a fairly rare thing to happen.
These two teams have nine titles between them.
This is the highest number of titles between two teams in Super Bowl history.
Cody, do you know what the, the one that comes in right behind this is?
By the way, I am Rob, I am joined by the, I apologize.
Super Bowl 30, Dallas and Pittsburgh.
Okay, now beats it by one.
So that's your, we're going to have a little trivia tidbits that I've been doing some research on this week as we get your prepared.
Cody offered up an interesting question as we were putting the, the run sheet together for today.
One of the questions he asked me on an email was,
How does North Texas compare to other cities that have hosted?
I will say this in defense of North Texas and in defense of Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys whose Cowboys stadium is hosting this game tomorrow.
There's no way that Jerry could have seen this coming.
No, you know, I just hope Dallas is at Lumpton with Jacksonville as a one and done Super Bowl city.
But I think there was mistakes made with, well, I'm going to say Dallas or North Texas, it's too spread out.
Now, this may have been grandstanding or playcating, but Gidel did say on Friday that the stadium, not the circumstances dictate who gets the Super Bowl and Dallas would definitely be in continued.
Yeah, it's a, it's a, it's a stadium.
It's a great facility.
One point two billion dollars.
If you had been out there, even on a tour or drive by it is a massive, massive building.
I'm hoping to see that Jerry might get in the, the BCS conversation to ever do expand.
I think that'd be a great place for a national title game.
Let me say this.
I've toured this stadium.
I've been inside this behemoth, which we hear locally and other people around the country refer to as the Death Star.
Everybody talks about the screen.
It's an 80 yard, 80 60 yards.
60 yards.
It's a 60 yard wide, high definition, 1080p, three story high screen.
I refer to this screen, like I refer to the castle at Disney World.
There is no video footage.
There is no pictures.
Until you see this thing, you cannot truly understand the bay.
It's, it's kind of like you're paying 500 bucks to watch a really big TV because you're so distracted by it.
You don't always watch this go on the field.
Huge.
You know, Dallas, you know, the Super Bowl has been played one year.
Matter of fact, 1983 is a 49ers took on the Miami Dolphins.
They played it in Stanford.
The Super Bowl, many inapolis.
I don't want to talk about that Super Bowl.
You know, many inapolis when you had the red skins and the bills.
That was kind of a weird.
They never got one either.
They've never been back.
Yeah.
They've never been back to those to certain cities.
Of course, Jacksonville.
You remember with the Philadelphia Eagles in New England Patriots.
And I would say the league's been fairly vocal about not going back.
Yes, Jacksonville.
People had were living on houseboats.
That team may not go back to Jacksonville.
But there was people living on houseboats.
There was not enough hotel rooms.
It was just to be something.
There was a monster.
There were some things that came through about Tuesday.
Yeah, Dallas does not have a or fourth.
Fourth does not have a lack of humanity, this far as hotels and restaurants and night clubs and
Vinnie Halls.
Whatever you want to have I think it's too spread out.
I think we needed to concentrate more on.
Are we going to have everything in Dallas or everything in fourth?
I don't think you're ever going to have that in the G-Cuz.
I think that you're having to drive an hour to and from everything.
I think that's where this thing's just really getting deep around well
I don't think you're gonna have the Dallas Fortress separation and for those of you that don't live here
Allow me to explain what what I've gathered in the last 16 years of living in this town
Dallas and Fort Worth are
constantly competing with each other. Yes, and
Fort Worth has a everything gravitates to one side the other one's gonna get a little round
Yeah, I think you always have to have this like that good and evil balance
You always have to have Fort Worth always had an in in in Fjordy complex two Dallas cuz Dallas Cowboys the TV show
Fort Worth was more of a cowboy you know at one time was called Hills Hathaker. Yeah. Yeah, it was uh was in is a very rustic cowboy
To me it's the only place in that's Metroplex that you can go cowboy to me
There's nothing cowboy about Dallas besides the Dallas Cowboys. Well Dallas is very metropolitan. Yes, very he's gotten very metro for sure
So but real quick. I've got some stuff about these two teams as do I
Let's start with the green Bay Packers. Yes entered the NFL in 1921
They will wear their home greens tomorrow. Oh, they're they're not gonna wear the white. So whether they wear their golds or the or the greens
And I'm seeing a team this year. Do you know the big stat about them this year? That's only ever happened five times
I know they've won a lot on the road
They've never trail by more than seven points all year. Huh, the it's the first time in 48 years at a team has done that
And again only five times since 1938
12 NFL championships 12 now. Now here's the deal here
I was gonna fix that they they've only won one
Actual Super Bowl correct that would be 30. No
One in two we're still being dubbed the AFL NFL championship showed by both CBS and NBC
Which you will never ever never see again because wasn't it CBS had the AFL rights NBC had the NFL rights
You know in there and there's also if you ever see I know NFL network, which we're watching now in the studio
They have been doing this all week long with their showing quite a bit of the Super Bowl's in their entirety original game shot
Not one piece of footage remains from Super Bowl one
Because they didn't tape it. They didn't it was gonna. They didn't tape it. So everything you see it's highlight reals through different
Things and Packer and or Kansas City chief football hitch. I do want to talk a little bit about that game if you don't mind
Take it for that game
We're six dollars ten dollars and twelve dollars and it didn't it didn't even sell out. Nope. Now
Let's talk about
comparing that
to
What's going on now? I was on a site called ticket city dot com the other day
And I was looking at Super Bowl tickets, but cheapest tickets I found in the 400 level
Which is the very top of the whole of Calboy Stadium
Section 432 row 18 upper corner Steelers side
one ticket
2,156 dollars
huh now I'll run to rest of these a little bit later. I've also got
average and now average prices on the day of the AFL NFL championship
Your average home cost 24,600
Your median household income per year was
7,143 dollars a first class stamp was five cents gas was 33 cents a gallon
A dozen eggs was 49 cents a gallon and a gallon a milk was a dollar three that last one you can kind of
I can go to super target right down the road $8050. Yeah, so that one kind of the average household income of 7,100
That's crazy
That's poverty level now also a great HBO documentary about this too if you haven't seen it
I have seen that but Green Bay also that they have been dull tidal town of course
They've got 11 NFL titles before the merger of course the great Paul horning comes to mind
Notre Dame of course Jerry Cramer if you listen to his day-not-on-new stream Jerry Cramer number one player
Not any of the halls right if you then let's it's some of the archive if someone was an after this show
Yes, but a lot of great names have come through Green Bay of course Brett far of course sterling sharp never one ring though
But Lombardy's Packers is what this organization that is the that is what this is known for another great HBO documentary on him
But the last time they were here
1996 so it's been 15 years since the Packers were in the super by Denver. Yes. They were a
636 postseason win percentage
They are 28 and 16 that is the best in NFL history
They have 12 of course those 28 postseason wins. They're tied for third all time
You know who's right behind him
One of your favorite teams probably the San Francisco 49ers. They are fourth with 26 very well played sir
Yeah, so but that that's Green Bay to nut shell of always the Green Bay's one of those teams that I've always kind of
Kind of not not that I loved them. I know I being in Dallas when the cowboy packer robbery was going I wasn't even born
If you think about it ice the ice bowl
Mean, that's night. I love watching stuff
65 six so the cowboys and the Packers had a very fierce robbery at one time
But Green Bay man, they're one of those teams also the smallest NFL market is Green Bay
I guess they are aren't they?
Um, the Packer name comes from the meat packing plants. They're around Green Bay
So you've got the steel workers versus the meat Packers in this deal. Speaking of the steel workers
Let's look at the other side of this coin as we go to
Pitsburg Pennsylvania
The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the league in 1933. I'd known as
Stealemic name
I don't think that's our mascot was oh, they were the Pittsburgh pirates
Actually, yeah, they will wear the road whites a couple things about that
The Steelers are three and oh and Superbowls where they wear the white uniforms the road whites have won the last
Six straight Superbowls. I think they have a sharp alternate with the black with their
I was shocked that they didn't make a rule that both teams could wear a color and Pittsburgh
Wouldn't wear the black the yellow those numbers. You know the last six teams have won it
Yeah, the people the team that wears the whites
27 and 17 oh yeah, so they've kind of got that working form
They've gotten here eight times
They have one six times. They are the best in NFL history and both of those categories. Yes
Steelers made a put their first playoff appearance in 1947
Against cross state rival the and Philadelphia Eagles
Champions and elementary say tied them eight and full. They were tied eight and four and forced the tiebreaker game at Forbes field
Steelers lost 21 to nothing. It would be Pittsburgh's only playoff game for the next 25 years
But they are 33 and 19 all times hosties. So prize for the best in NFL history with who?
The green baby your Dallas Cowboys. Oh, man
But Pittsburgh wasn't an instant win franchise. I mean they went through some walls from 47 to 62
And he make the playoffs but the 1970s if you think about football in the 70s and you don't think about the Pittsburgh Steelers
Then you had you were drinking cowboy cool later Oakland Raider cool laid. I'm so excited that you said
Yeah, because I got a stat for you from 1933 to 1968 the Pittsburgh Steelers had a 388 win percentage from
1969 until now
609. Yes, they that tells you exactly what you really became on one Super Bowl nine 10 13 and 14 in the 70s
The more remembered for Super Bowl nine and 10. I mean not 10 and 13 against Dallas
Both four point wins
Do I remember a conversation between Roger Stavack and Troy Eggman where he thanked Troy for finally beaten Pittsburgh
Yeah, four point losses very Dallas has very close ties to both of these teams
If your Dallas beats green bay at the cotton bowl, they win Super Bowl one and it's called the landry trophy
Wow, and if they win Super Bowl 10 or
13
Pittsburgh only has five so the these two teams are and that's why you're thinking a lot of heat
Superals in Dallas against Dallas is too big as championship rivals
That's I think it's why you're seeing so much heat around this Super Bowl, but I have a fear it's gonna be moved for ice
Well the last year that last time they were here just two three years ago
Dallas and eight which is kind of how barbed wire got to work his
His loophole that got him to win dark horse. Yes
Rockless burger could win his third which would tie him with Brady and eight men for second all time
Who's got the record two guys to try to be Montana and Bradshaw well done sir well played
Rockless burger has ten postseason wins he's tied all time
With eight men and Brady to get there by their seventh season. That's the important but I'm gonna taste them at and and we'll get in the quarterbacks
It's where we're headed next real quick. I can't now. I'll never put those three people in the same level. I will not either
There's something about Ben
Yes, he's second to one guy in postseason win percentage. Who is it?
Postseason uh-huh all-time all-time. Gotta be Montana. Nope
MVP of Super Bowl technical one oh bar star. Yes sir
Rockless burger is ten and two stars nine and one so he is a higher one
I got a challenge. Yeah one get at eight and two Bradshaw and Brady both tied at 14 and five. Wow. They're coach Mike Tomlin
He lost his first postseason game ever has won the the five cents he is you know
You don't really see a lot of organizations that get good hires back to back
But they rolled in the bill tower era right into Mike Tomlin and really did not miss a beat
Tomlin he had a little problem with that shadow at first but overcame it fairly quickly if he wins tomorrow
He'll be the eight different NHL NFL coach in history to win six straight. Yes the others
Joe Gibbs
Jimmy Johnson Chuck Null and Don Shula have six
Shanahan and Chuck Null yes two he is one one six straight and one seven straight one body with nine number one
You want to take a guess at this one
Landry nope
Bella check with ten 10 straight postseason one ring one ring
How do you have two nine? Well both only one one
Wow, yep
Oh, I was thinking now you're thinking billock billock billock. Oh, okay from my bad
Me car. Yeah, no New England's got a lot more in one ring. That's for sure
But as far as the way things have gone here this week Peter King of SI has declared this at debacle
It's just it's been bad luck for Jerry us
He really you can't blame him because he planned it well. I mean there have been
Activities in this town for two weeks. Yeah, I mean I thought it and you can't foresee the weather. That's
I mean we couldn't have for seeing this you and I talked about this all week where I've lived in this town
16 years this week you've lived in this town you're entire life neither one of us have ever seen weather
Like the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplexes had in the last four days. No, it's been nuts
I mean six inches of snow overnight
On Thursday
That's insanity
For some of you you're like I we deal with that every day
We don't yes
We're not prepared as far as plows and all that we're just not prepared for that kind of stuff
But I'm excited this is a really this is a dream match up as far as you go super balls with two really good good quarterbacks
The winners will get 83,000 a piece losers will get 42,000 a piece
We talk about quarterbacks. We'll start we'll do the same way packers and Steelers air and Rogers
He's
The team is fifth in the league and passing this year. He's got a quarterback rating of 101.2
He's passed for 3,922 yards 28 touchdowns and 11 picks behind him Matt flim and bat flim
And Texas text Graham Harold wow
So same working if you're green bay you need to keep your starter in quarterback active. Yes
Aaron Rogers is a guy that
Remember he if you're doing think back to the NFL draft he was in he went to the University of Cal
He was a guy who fell very very late into that draft was predicted as a top 10
our top at least a top five
draft pick and
He kind of just sat there sat there sat there. I think green bay picked him and let's be honest
He was groomed to be the heir apparent to Brett Farve and Brett Farve at one point even said I'm not here to
To mentor anybody I'm here to play football. Well, so Aaron Rogers kind of had that problem out of a gate
He was kind of just kind of working his way through it. Yes, you know, he had his coaches
But he didn't have anybody that was really willing no, and I think bringing him the hacker fan every team has this
I think it was it's Evelyn with Miami if you weren't Dan Moreno after he retired. Have a chance as a dolphin
Dallas with Roger Stahlback and Trayton in the 49ers. It took Steve Young a quite a while to get things going in San Francisco after
Retirement of Joe Montana and do
Aaron Rogers the guy. I think he's a winner
I think he's a winner. I like him if I like his poison the pocket is something that
Sometimes his offensive lines are very good, but when things are going bad he's not he's he's no freak out
He's not gonna throw a bunch of stuff 28 for 11. It's just touched down the quarterback ratio
He's known for close to 4,000 yards
So he's had a very good year. I
Was something we talked about in the show especially I do when it comes to the NFL
It's patience. Yeah, he's not a quarterback that panics
He stays it's like we've always got that poison the pocket
It's like you called this this is a dream matchup. Yes, you know right now
Last I knew the packers in Vegas were two and a half point fake still are has not moved
But I look for Aaron if the Green Bay Packers win. I believe Aaron Rogers more than likely is your most valuable player
Into this game now the other started that coin Ben Rockless burger had a quarterback rating of 97 this year
He threw for 3,200 yards 17 touchdowns and five picks behind him
We have firing left-witch and Charlie batch now both of these guys are no slouches
So I think from a depth standpoint at the quarterback position the Steelers have a little bit of an edge here
Yeah, we know Charlie batch got at the team to a three and one start beginning of the year a lot of people thought that Pittsburgh
Extenders would start to season at least one in three or oh and full and they had written off those first for you
They beat Atlanta. Yes, they did. I mean they they really had a very good start to the season
Rothless burgers gonna be a guy that I think happened sometimes is I think he's gonna be remembered for all the off the field stuff
As he was Wednesday when GMC had footage am at a Fort Worth piano bar
Which he's done every Super Bowl on that night. He was in before curfew, but people still made a big deal
I think Rothless burgers gonna be a guy that is gonna be more remember for off the field shenanigans
Great quarterback
Think about Rothless burger. It's very hard to bring him down and tackle him once you make contact
Well, the one thing I worry about for Ben Rothless burger tomorrow is very simple
It is he who stands in front of him. Yes, bouncy is out of the guy was finally announced Friday
I think he was out all along. I think he was too. It's just the game these coaches play. Yeah, but the question is
This kid that's in front of him now
There we played it down all year
The thing about pit and I will make predictions after our list end of the show
Pitsburg seems to find ways to win these type of games despite Ben Rothsburger
He played horrible against the jet. Yes, he did. Rothless burger to me did not play well against the jets
But there was something about him that it seemed like he made the play the third and six got the first down
I don't know Ben's a winner both these guys are winners Ben's got two rings been there done that
I think that's another thing you've got to remember
Well, then let's move on to the running back position. I will say this flow Zell Adams congratulations. Yes
Congratulations to him. Yeah after being on some horrible
Horrible cowboy teams here flow Zell Adams is in the Super Bowl in Dallas
At the running back position the packers
Brandon jacks and a hundred and ninety rushes for seven hundred and three yards and three touchdowns this year
James Starks
One nine rushes for a hundred and one yards, but in the playoffs he had 70 rushes for 263 in a touchdown
Then you've got the guy everybody chance his name John
84 rushes for 281 yards and four touchdowns this year not a real slouch in the bunch in my opinion
All those sharks start really come alive until the past but since things have gone on since
To me really honestly since the New York game the giant game at Lambo when we just saw them
Beat like a dog again. Well, I'd actually lost New England the week before let me go man
Is this team even gonna make the make the playoffs
Starks to me's been your late season playoff work course, and I think he could be a difference in this in this game
Oh, that's that's great depth there. Yes, they're being great death
Who I don't think it's enough credit in my opinion that kid played well this year now the other side of that coin my god
Rashard Mendenhall again drafted ahead of
Felix Jones
drafted ahead of who's the other running back? He was drafted ahead of oh we will Julius Joe yet
Yeah, Julius Jones. Yeah, Julius Jones Chris Johnson over Chris Johnson
This year three hundred and twenty four touches for
1,273 yards 13 touchdowns in the post season
47 rushes for a hundred and sixty seven yards and three touchdowns
That's good enough
But then you throw in the well-day more who's had 33 rushes for 99 yards Isaac Redman
Who said 52 rushes for 247 yards and Jonathan Dwyer who's had nine rushes for 28 yards this year
Both of these teams if you're gonna have to run the ball which that really the weather isn't gonna be
In fact here because the roof will be closed if you've got to pound the ball
Both of these teams are almost even yes, Mendenhall's a guy
You know the lifeblood of the Pittsburgh scissor's they draft very very very well always have yes, sir
Mendenhall was a guy he was this decent at the rest of Illinois
I don't think anybody thought he'd have the impact in NFL
He took a ball room dancing class in the offseason kind of like kind of like when swinders with a ball on yeah
Balance was a big key with him. He got in the doghouse with a head coach there pretty quick
I like Mendenhall. I think is a hard runner. I just don't know if he's gonna be able to run as easily
It seemed to against the jets against the packers. I just don't think he's gonna be able to do that
Well, you've got a bounce out offense. Yeah, and if you're gonna have to it like I said if you're gonna have to pound the ball
I think that this disguise
This guy now started to pound it get it done. He can pound it, but I just I think it's gonna end up being
Now it's wire the rookie out of Georgia Tech is a very
Experience rookie. He's kind of a faster guy
Is it quick and faster? I don't know about all that
But he's a good change of pace back. I just I don't know. I think when when 34's on the field
They will key on him. I just I just
And I think he can take take the pounding from what's on the other side of that that that packer defensive line over there
I'm excited. I'm I'm ready to see
Can we have another story merge in this game besides the obvious Aaron Rogers or been losses further?
And a guy that we're about to talk about here in just a little while too as we move to the wide receiver position
The packers
If you think packer wide receivers right now the first guy comes to mind is Donald Driver 51 catches for
565 yards this year and four touchdowns pretty good numbers
But let's talk about the other guys what about there. Yeah, they have HD James Jones 77 like catches 50 catches for
675 60 itself. Let me try that again James Jones 50 catches for 679 yards and five touchdowns
Greg Jennings sir
76 catches for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdown
I think I think the packer wide were especially driver in Jennings. This is their swansong. Yep, I think both of these guys the there's been a report out
That I want to say
That Jennings may I think it's Jennings is playing through an injury
Well, you've also got at the wide out. Yes. You've got Jordi Nelson 45 catches for 582 yards
Excuse me two touchdowns
In Brett Swain who said six catches for 72 yards, but you're main guys
Your main your main core guys are very deep. They've done very well if you remember the Atlanta game
Green Bay's wide receivers dominated that Atlanta secondary
Donald drivers a guy that I think he's been around the league for a very long time with the Green Bay Packers would would very enjoy
To see him get a ring and let me tell you something if Aaron Rogers can get the protection
He will chuck the rock. Yes, make no mistakes there if you can stay away from
Paul Amalu you can have success throwing the ball against a Pittsburgh Steelers that that's been proven
Sanchez has done it
Other teams have done it throughout the season this year. You can throw on them
And those Steelers wide receivers Mike Wallace 60 catches for 1,200
50 yards and 10 touchdowns and manual Sanders 28 catches for 307
yards and two touchdowns
Then you get to 34 year old hines war a lot of people are saying this is it
59 catches for 755 yards and five touchdowns
There's another guy and Juan Rando L 22 catches for 253 yards and then you've got Antonio Brown 16 catches for
160 to me Pittsburgh is a whole this year in the receiving department are very very very down statistically
Wards down words gotten older
Mike Wallace is right now. He's been's go to guy. He is fast. He's not very tall
But he's fast and that's a guy that Charles Woodson could eat his lunch all after all all Sunday
Not our afternoon everyone to go with
depending on where you are yes in the manual Sanders he has Brooke a rookie out of southern methods University here in Dallas
I believe that he could be the X factor because he's he's physical he's fast, but he gets open
He's got great hands. So if Ben needs a safety valve and don't forget he's Miller a great tie to end
Yes, sir. Ben had that's kind of been another safety valve for Ben, but I think Sanders could be kind of an X factor here
In Rando L he'll drop back and throw a pass in a former quarterback at the University of Indiana
So Pittsburgh got a lot of varieties. They also run quite a bit of wildcat
Expect to see a little bit of trickery because if this is the game you're gonna have to do it
Tomlin Tomlin's not against doing anything when when another ring I promise you that he will do things
You think back to the Seattle game Super XL
40 yeah, Rando L just jumped one to ward up for half time and I thought that was the back
Rader breaker for the seahawks that day
Well, let's talk about defense the other side of the line you're you're a big defensive guy
The packers third in total defense seventh against the pass only giving up an average of
212.7 yards per game. They are also the silver award winners second against the run giving up an average of
69.7 yards a game
Something's got a gift
The Steelers first in total often so total often you've got one versus three
They are actually second against the pass only giving up 155 yards average and they are best against a rush
Giving up an average of 52 and a half yards again now this green but this green bay defense
I think is a very young defense outside of Charles Woods and another guy that I think it'd be great if Charles Woods and former
Houseman trophy winner out of
Michigan think it'd be great if he finally got a ring
I love this green bay defense a the first one that comes to mind a guy that I thought might have been a little overrated in college
AJ Hawk
But he's played his dog. He's played his tail
I was here if I'm not mistaken. Oh, how stay how stay. Yes
AJ AJ Hawks be coming that linebacker that green bay thought
He would become of course you bring in a veteran like Charles Woods and
Played a lot of years in Oakland lost one Super Bowl to Tampa
Yeah, he did a little bit experience and of course clay Matthews they run her up to the AP defense at player there walk on at southern Cal
Can you believe this is his second year in league in at times he looks unblockable
At times you see him and go well that blood that's run through his veins. Yeah, if I'm not mistaken
But you got a nice little
Isn't that a nice little pedigree. Oh, yeah, Bruce. Of course the uncle or the nephew of Bruce Matthews clay Matthews senior his dad played a lot of years for the Cleveland Browns
On defense though green bay
Sometimes they don't look as aggressive as Pittsburgh does
I thought their defense is a little quieter
They let a third string quarterback come in when they played the bears and he almost pulled that off. Yeah, and
Out of that concerns me at free safety Nick Collins is a good player that I think can really
Maybe discuss some stuff if he's lined up on Heinz Ward. I think Nick Collins can shut Heinz Ward down
I really like the Packers in it this and certain aspects of this game
But when you talk about defense and you talk about the other side of that yes that ball game
One guy one very very rarely do you see a defense that
One guy makes all the difference on the planet and that one guy is captain hairdo
Troy Palamolli game changer
Gosh, he can he can he for some reason he can change a game in a matter of a few place
Just like that guy he reminds me a lot of rod woods and rod woods and what in the hitter or intense
But rod woods and was a game changer. He could do things. Why is it a whole of fame he could do things that kind of
The Noya
It seems like
Palamolli is not the strongest the fastest the biggest he just seems to always be there to make the play and he gives you that spark
Yeah, at the lineback position. I loved I love woodly
I think he's a guy he at he's averaged one sack in every in the last seven games
He's had a sack every game including the playoff's nice
He's a guy that can can be a lot of things a Casey Hampton the nose tackle out University of Texas here
He's a guy that I think
I sometimes notice a lot of pressure with rodgers comes up the middle
From the nose tackles Tommy Harris had a great game against the Packers for the Bayers at nose tackle
I think that's gonna be the type of guys and there could be some very big plays, but when you think about Pittsburgh other
Then Palamolli
You got to think of James Harrison
Ran back had a nine a hundred one yard what hundred and how long was that touched on his Arizona
98 yard right for the half oh yeah, that was what three years. Yeah, so both two both 42
Yeah, three years ago. Yeah, like 98 and a half 99 yard outside. I've never seen an outside linebacker with his speak
Not very big six foot 242
I've never seen an outside linebacker with that kind of of size and speed
Drop back into coverage and he can drop back out of coverage and cover that that tight end
I think he could have if he's on and he's not getting the late hits and he's not getting the personal fouls
I think James Harrison could have a big game
We'll see he seems to get chippy and I think the the refs will be watching 92
If he gets real chippy and a surf ball start taking shots the head starts doing his bit
They're gonna throw the flag
Already, so I think you can say Packer Stealer's defense even all righty
Well, let's talk about what's gonna happen right now middle of this thing
Do we have got dollars to donuts that says you're gonna hear this song now?
This is a group that's playing actually a concert tonight into Dallas for we're there at fair park
Out here's my thing for those if you've been looking again if you've been living in a cave
You're super bowl half-time entertainment will be will I am
Fergi and those other guys called the black eyed peas even though she wasn't always with them know your black eyed peas history
No, you're really no bro. They know you black eyed peas history. They have like two extra out before she became a board
Here's my thing
This is a classic example of
Be careful what you wish for
Yes, because we have said for the last three years we have said can we stop with the class at the Tom petty and the who and and all these older and the kids
Storm in the same
And then all of a sudden they're gonna focus okay
We're gonna go to Dallas
The Dallas Fortward there. We're gonna are LinkedIn
Yeah, and here's the black eyed peas the one year where we're going you could have
The Eagles you could have Garth Brooks you could have George
Straight you know you could have ZZ top you could have a Stevie Ray bond tribute
And no you want you want us to go current we're gonna go current here's the black eyed peas. I'm sorry
Did I miss the meeting this will be a disaster if there's one negative to this game besides the weather
I think the matchup's gonna be great. I think it's gonna be halftime
Will I am saying he will be tweeting as he performs?
That's gonna work. Yeah, that's what he said. I watch this halftime
Vargy says no
World wardrobe malfunctions will happen which means it will
So
It's what they're saying that it's gonna be a very conservative. I know last night at 10 o'clock local news
They were rehearsing in the stadium. You could see they oh no you have to and we'll talk about what I've got actually some
Experiences in the day where we were practicing they were practicing inside the stadium
So I don't know I'm
I ever back in the day where other channels like one year Fox did like a special in living color time exactly for us time
This is the year if you're another network Sunday night heat
WWE Super Bowl halftime was a ladies one match the rot versus mancon for the championship
This is the year to do it. Yes. This is the year where if you're if you're one of these other networks
Planned something huge for halftime and roll with it because you'll get ratings. Yes. I just I think this I think this is a disaster
When it was announced I think everybody especially in this sporting world and kind of kind of went
Because no I don't like ball. I think everybody was wanting the the Texas feel
I know Kenny Chesney wanted this bad really his people said hey we we kind of were we were selling them
They weren't selling us
I don't know why the league went such a drastic different direction
This is a disaster and if you by chance miss it
You'll be able to listen to the fallout there in Tuesday now that heat on the east coast five on the west coast
Go ahead and look at where are you going at this?

Along with all everything else you expect from this show sports pop culture professional wrestling
We've got it all covered for you each and every Tuesday night
Something you put on the on the run sheet
That I was very excited about because it's no secret
I like to
There's no doubt anybody's mind
Someone did you ask about where favorite game day food and
I don't know for me if there's anything that I equate to be Super Bowl specific
More football specific maybe I kind of go all out with with suit balls far as and we will be tomorrow
Yeah as far as food goes I'm not a guy that every Sunday. I've got to have broad so I've got to have not
I got to just I'm more of a during regular football season. I'm more of a
Muncher I'll get some chips and dip but nothing like a big grand meal
Super Bowl to me. It's a last football game of the year
Yes, especially this year because the pro bowl was last week. Yes, so this is done and I like 10 doldes
I'm a wing guy. Oh, is that and I am too. I'll be bringing those some more I'm a wing guy the brought to never a bad
Situation either depends on how they're prepared
You see I like the hot tub
With the bell peppers and the onions is the beer and the fresh garlic and you kind of boil them that's grill them first
Boil them for a little bit. That's the best way to do brought
Have any green bay on conference green bay you got to have a little brought there tomorrow because they are the brought worst capital
Does Pittsburgh bring anything to the table on that thing? I can't really think of no just the six rings
Well, they're calling it this stairway to seven wow is what they're calling it one back the one for
What was that 30 when they played the cowboy that was one for the thumb
But did that happen? I just got finally got them, but yeah
The the cheese dip the case so but definitely I think the wing let me ask you this on case because I'm very very picky when it comes to case
Are you a rotel velvita guy because I really when it boils down to it and not as much of a fan is
Is I don't know I am a prepared differently. I am a I am a velvita ground sausage guy
Really that's when I think of velvet when I think of cheese dip that's what I because my when I was a kid
That's how my my dad's feel makes me does but the get some velvita melt it down and then get you some hot some some
Some like breakfast sausage ground sausage miss and mix it up
We got to do the recipe section on the website. Yeah. I'm on board with that. We'll tailgate rest of me brother
I'm gonna tell you a also a big fan get those burgers on the grill. Yes burgers always good
I think in case though you can't go wrong. I isn't Monday a national holiday
There has been talk of that that is now here in the Metroplex it might not be this year
But the day after the Super Bowl is the most used sick day of the year
Yeah, maybe not locally after the weather we've had this week. There's a lot everybody needs to get their butt back work money
Oh, yeah, a lot of people I've been off all week
The exception to that row would be the two individuals in this studio who have both been at work all week
Yeah a lot of people had since Tuesday
So I don't know if it would be a lot of people you know you may have to have a note of emergency from a doctor to get their day off on Monday
Unless you're like me and worked all week. Yeah, so do that worked all week
Let's get on to a little list action here. Well special list
You asked me
Between this there are 10 of our favorite Super Bowl's. I got your list. I tried to change mine up. You did it
We got one in count. Well, that's a little bit closer to you
You put it on for years for different reasons. I put it on mine for the I want to go first
Please do we'll start it five we'll go back and forth. We'll pick up number five. I've got actually I've notes on mine
But got yours so um number five for me
For a lot of reasons was the the New England Patriots versus the St. Louis Rams that was in New Orleans
Now let me tell you why I like this game that would be 36 36. Yeah
This was 2002 not 11. It was the first Super Bowl after 9 11
a team called the New England Patriots going to the Super Bowl if I'm not mistaken
weren't they the first team and then every team after them did this but weren't they the first team that came out
All the team were not introduced individually one team picked defense one team picked off
and they named different players the England came out is that as a team it's been a wacky year
Of course, blood so is the starting quarterback he gets hurt some unknown fifth round draft pick
Ninth Tom Brady comes in then he gets our 19th pick got he gets hurt
then
You have the tuck rule game in the snow against Oakland where Brady gets injured and then drew blood so starts the
AFC title game in Pittsburgh and wins it. It was just a crazy year for the Patriots and plus it started a dynasty
It was a great game. Yeah, you know a military mister clutch hits the field goal
Brady goes on an 85 yard drive 50 seconds no time outs slinging it down the field
The rest and this was in New Orleans. This was in New Orleans where we are two years from now
Indian next year then back to the big easy that Indie want to make it a little dicey too if you think that wither here was mad
My number five is
Super Bowl
Okay, the original because you have to put them on the list. Yes. It was in Los Angeles
Green Bay takes on Kansas City and wins 35 to 10
Bart star 250 yards and two touchdowns like you said
He was not sold out. No, not sold out at all. See him the the MVP of that was Max McGee
And the funny thing about what he missed curfew and showed up to pre-game drunkard then cougar brand
Do remember hearing about that neither one of us were alive. He died it within two years ago this time
I'm talking about this we died back in 0809 fell off his roof hanging Christmas lights
Good mercy. Yeah, he was MVP. I don't hang Christmas now MVP a Super Bowl one all right number four
Broncos and Packers
San Diego California Super Bowl 32
Just because L-way finally got a ring
I'll never forget that look on always face after they wanted yeah, and you had Brett Farve who was they had the Packers
Defending Super Bowl champions at the time Brett Farve he was kind of becoming the NFL's kind of golden boy
And the old man showed him up of course to play is the spin
Or L-way the old man goes airborne and 360 and 360 here going. I think he may have just been touchdown
Farf those interception just to finally see two future Hall of Fame quarterback and John L-way
Finally getting to that that place
Great guy had lost to the 40 hours the giants before that badly both of them badly
But L-way finally punching that ticket to get that ring my number four Super Bowl 25
Giants bills Tampa Florida at the big summer arrow. That's still standing 20. No, no, yeah, Tampa Bay Center's gone
20 to 19 the giants win. This is known as the wide right game. Yes, everybody thought because you know everybody said bill stands for boy
I love losing Superb and it did and they almost win one wide right yep
That was a a surf ball that happened another kind of a tense time nine a let on nine eleven
See the desert storm started two or three days before that. Yeah, well, officially it'd be true in for about four months
This was also the Whitney Houston national anthem that became the standard
They even played that every day and still were rumors about them trying to move that to Detroit because it was indoors
They really picked up the surf ball and move it because of the threats we really didn't know the Iraqi government
That's another show
Would I remember about this game was the Giants the giant slay the demon known as a San Francisco 49ers the NFC title game and
They were there
Jeff hotstetler. They played with a backup quarterback Phil Sims was hurt hotstetler
Then went on to do nothing after that night
Except how to good mustache great mustache. That's a good one man. I was in this Frank right scheme to
Against Houston. It was that year. Oh, yes, okay my number three and I've heard people talk about this game
They think this is when the Super Bowl win Hollywood
You realize you're your top three all took place in the same city
Hey, M-town baby
To me the Cowboys and Steelers Super Bowl 10 or a lot of people say this is where the Super Bowl kind of went mainstream
You had the hoop law you had the the media row the pageantry the pageantry
Oh, it took a Super Bowl about a decade to really get that that pageantry to it
This game remembered for the Lin swan diving catch that we see over in over which my opinion got him in the Hall of Fame
Outside of four rings in the regular season
Lin swan was a pedestrian wide receiver in the NFL, but he showed up in the playoffs in the Super Bowl
Let me ask you this though you talk about the penetrating how the Super Bowl kind of cave into its own
And I hate to I hate to get a little maybe you can call this local bias if you want to I don't care
Tom Landry
This is the guy that came up with the idea for Monday night. Yes, all this was the guy
Tech shram. I'm sorry. Yeah, Tom Tom Landry
Shram Monday night football Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. Do you think if this team is not in that Super Bowl?
It still takes a little while. I think it is it's a tech shram magic kind of working in the way and they'd already won one and seventy
They'd already won one and seventy two
To the seventy three was the dolphins of course a 72 season. Yes, sir. So they'd already had a ring they beat the Miami dolphins. Yep, that year
I still think Dallas had a swagger. I don't think until Dallas won the Super Bowl then you get coined the America's team
But then you go into Super Bowl 10 at that time Pittsburgh Garley already won one as well
They had beaten Minnesota the year before a couple, you know, so they both teams were kind of coming together. Stop back
Bradshaw Franco Harris. You had Tony Dorset Calvin Hill
Drew Pearson Lynn Swan the doomsday defense versus the steel curtain
I mean these were your two premier teams in this league. They were playing for the biggest prize. Yeah
That's why I put that on her on this is where the Super Bowl kind of became a big deal my number three
Super Bowl 38
Patriots, no, did I get that wrong?
Here we got
Patriots Panthers that's right. You're right. I had Rams on the right. Yeah, Patriots Panthers in Houston
I have two different sheets and two different things. Yes, this is our Jake Deloam becomes a household name. Yeah, yeah, thanks
To you and you know who really had a lot to do with Deloam coming to a house for name
The now deep fun to best damn sports show period. He was on there every other day in the play on
Huh, and they played a huge role in him becoming a household name
This was a record
For a amount of time it took for the first points to be scored it took 26 minutes and 55 seconds
Yeah, the tight game another one that came down to
Doing one kind of making a weird play in the game to win it combined
868 yards total offense 41 by doing with 3 anyone by Carolina
highest scoring quarter in Super Bowl history as 37 points are scored in the fourth quarter
But no points are scored in the first or third quarter
Also this was also the Janet Jackson incident, which I that that's not really why I put this on my list
This was more of the other stats. Well, it's the first time you know Carolina was an expansion team
A few years and it was cool to see a very young team. It was kind of a cool for a little bit
Because I'm a dynasty guy and I think this country loves
Dynasty's we love dominance Tiger Woods everybody would dominate
It was kind of cool to see Carolina kind of walk in and compete because everybody kept saying all this will be like nine years Broncos 5510
57 and Carolina was there but you give them you
Two place
Carolina kicked it out of bounds. Yep. They just tie they come many times that screwed a team
They just game they just went that went ahead by a touchdown and the kicker kicks it out of bounds
And you give Brady the ball with two timeouts at his 40 at the other 40 that's poison
Yep, you're gonna die
But Houston Houston's never got another shot at the Super Bowl either
That is kind of weird because that would rely on a great stadium right that time there was nothing around it
They've bought the old Astro world torn it down more hotels. That's more of a desirable stadium than it was
WrestleMania's been that he wants to go number two for me
It's probably the first time I remember sitting down
In watching what the Super Bowl was from beginning to end
This is a Super Bowl that always takes out my mind because I remember watching it in its entirety
San Francisco 49ers Cincinnati Bangalore Super 23 also in Miami. Yeah Joe Robby checks in yes
More remembered for the great quarterback battle course boomer a science in quarterback Cincinnati Joe Montana
for the 49ers
The ending has there been a Super Bowl with that kind of a drama not a field goal
No, okay the Bengals kick a 40 yard field goal for the lead with three minutes left in the game
And then here we go as Joe Montana drives 92 yards in 11 plays
And throws a touchdown pass the John Taylor got to end at Jerry Rice was actually six for six on the drive and that's how Taylor got open because they double Jerry
Rice of course, we're running back for Cincinnati that year. Eki woody yiki shuffle. I mean Cincinnati was a very hokey team
I had a hokey coat Sam wash
Okay forward Tampa Bay great yeah
But Joe Montana walking to the huddle and going look down there guys. There's John Cainby
And you've got the and he was sure and then that guy says a Harris Barton offensive line in our old center
That tells that story said we're nervous. You know, we're shaking Joe walks in and goes hey guys
Look at his owners John Cainty
Just ensure enough John Cainty sound a sideline with some reporter
Very cool very cool game very cool demeanor that's kind of that that was all most my number one
My number two
We go to Atlanta
Super Bowl 34 Rams Titans
Titans are 16 points down that wasn't in Atlanta. They tie it with with a 43 yard field goal with just over two minutes to go
And then six seconds later
Kurt Warner to eyes at Bruce 78 yards for a touchdown right to show on turf
Titans get the ball back
We're driving down the field Mcnayer to Kevin Dyson to have yard line no time runs out. Yes. I mean after the music city miracle
Then we go to this you think oh my god, they're gonna do it again
Not so much 18 inches
And it's over that was a very
I remember that cerebral being because a lot of people were rooting for Steve McNair
Yep, a lot of people are so a lot of people wanted to see him do something do the same thing that that Doug Williams did
Yep, and he had a lot of Steve McNair was a great quarterback 80 George you're running back there
Brother yeah
Tennessee man Jeff Fisher Jeff Fisher recently retired or class fired or everyone called it from the Titans
He's no longer with yeah, and I'd love to see him get her in absolutely
God he was imagine at half yard
This boy that's it as probably as wide as one of my computer
Number one for me number one
Number one number one to me you change the league. This is when you reference quite a bit. Yeah Super Bowl three jets cults
This Aaron T yeah Joan of course Joe name is
To me that in it did this game revolutionary because the merger you finally had the AFL who
LeBardy Packers and already punk the writers they money punk the chiefs the jet the cults come in at 15 in one
the most dominant team in the whole league that year in the NFL and
the jet's kind of come in
They played some Oakland teams at beat Kansas City
They came in with a brash young quarterback in Rysvallah, Baman named Joe nameeth and at the at the Miami touchdown club lunch and he stands up at a podium in
Garan T's the Super Bowl. Yes, he did to this day. He doesn't regret it
He'd he says hey, so we were all we were reading the paper so it was how we were just gonna get blown out
And I'd be dang if this occurs didn't go out there and beat the mighty Baltimore cults
A loss that the cults eventually never recovered and we're kicked out of the NFC and put in the AFC
That's how mad that the commissioner of the NFL was
He kicked the cult out of the NFC and put him in the AFC
That's how they end up where they're present day. That's crazy because they felt they the cult said you couldn't even beat the jets
John and you nine is never recovered from that. There's a lot of players on the Super Bowl three cults
There's a missing rings NFL network does a show
They do such great
Document Baltimore cults missing rings Super Bowl three and it's the other side of the coin even if you are a passive fan of this fall
There's there's no programming on NFL network that you just can't find resting so there there yeah
There was like that changed the league because then then you had Kansas City beat Minnesota and Super Bowl formed the next year
And you kind of had the NFL what it is today
You didn't have two leagues the league version one became the AFC the NFC
But this game kind of in a 176 yep
Nothing flashy the shaking of the finger is it it's single on Tana runs out of stadium nameeth
It kind of I'm off. It's single handedly got Joe nameeth in the Hall of Fame
He was he was a pedestrian quarterback his whole career there was nothing really flashy about nameeth
Man enough to wear pantyhose in this jet jet nameeth was like Sanchez
Good looking kid decent quarterback, but nameeth won the big game in my opinion
My number one is also on your list but for a different reason
Super Bowl 23 for me
49ers Bengals Joe Robbie Stadium
January 26, 1989. I remember the date very well
For those of you that know me well enough you know what I'm about to talk about for those of you that are that are new listeners to the program or don't know
I was actually a part of the halftime show in this Super Bowl when the Super Bowl still had halftime shows
Terrible show
It was a 50's magic show. Oh wow called bebop bamboozled and if you remind me after the show
I've got a pin. I saw how on my ban jacket from high school the pin from the show was on my ban jacket
It the star of the show and as I'm sitting here a swear to you his name was Elvis Presto
This show
Actually was in 3d well if you had you could watch it without the 3d but there were specific effects and if you had 3d glasses on and
My mom taped this for me and I watched it the next day and there were certain things that were
3d
sponsored by Diet Coke who did a 3d commercial right before
It was pretty bad, but I'm gonna tell you something. I don't regret it because I can say that I was part of a Super Bowl
Half-time show. Oh, yeah rehearsals took three months
So we had our normal marching band rehearsals and then an extra one to two nights a week
We had Super Bowl rehearsals where each school for the first month and a half
Rehorsed on their own. Yes, you were showed where you were gonna be and then for about the last six weeks
We were all in a at a high school in Miami rehearsing together. They were probably about three to four hundred of us
I got a free re-box sweatsuit shirt, sweatsuit suit out of the free re-box shoes. They were songs are
One thing I remember is we were all rehearsing one night and
Now broke it to the hand job. No, we did not break into the hand job. Oh, we saw some lights off in the distance and
Surely after we saw these lights
Gang members lying the entire stadium and we were all kind of freaked out
Apparently if you know anything about Miami history there were some riots in over town in late 88
The gang members knew that we were rehearsing and they were protecting us from the riots to get on the bus and get out of here
But we watched the last two minutes in the first half and the first two minutes in the second half
We were in a bus the whole time. We could not watch the game
But it will always be very memorable for me because it was kind of a cool deal. It was if you are inspired
And you're saying yourself, hey Rob
I want to go to the game one
I think you need some prices that I've got for you. We already talked about the one the 400 level
Let's say you want to sit on the 300 level

I still think Pittsburgh wins. I the the experience factor. I'm gonna go with office
I'm gonna go with youth. I'm gonna go with green bag
So we're picking differently. Yes, we'll be again. We'll be watching this game together
