It is Sunday. It is shortly after 6 o'clock. It is shortly after 4 o'clock on the west coast.
It is time as it has been all year long on tape review day for the live free show.
The clubhouse is Robin Cody, as we prepare you for WWE over the limit, which starts in just about 53 minutes.
Welcome. I am Robin, as I each and every episode am joined by Cody.
I'm very motivated, so I don't know if you're fired up there.
But we are live, boxed in house, Richardson, Texas.
Just west and central expressway on Campbell Road. We are on the north side of the road behind the McDonald's.
We're here each and every paper for you. Our second one this month. I can't say every month because we've got to this month.
And the one next month earlier in the month that usual is well on Father's Day.
But you're going to be able to break away from that. You can bring the paper out.

Welcome. We are getting ready for over the limit. A card that's shaping up very nicely in my opinion.
We're going to get to that later on. We're also going to talk a little bit about what happened on SmackDown Friday.

Why is it the last two paperbies in a row? Something crazy has happened.
As we, as the WWE went off the air last time, we got news of the killing of those sum up in a lot.
As right there in that hole, as we were standing right just to my last, we found that out.
And then about less than 48 or a little over 48 hours, I guess.
Before we went on the air tonight, we found out about something that really kind of blew the wheels off of everything.
We were worried about content and we got content now because we're going to talk about it.
We had just after 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time Friday morning.
We got word of the death of one macho man Randy Savage.
He was in the Tampa area.
You got a little confused. He was in Largo as a suburb.
Yeah, they did not see Largo as a lot of people reported.
Some places were reporting Tampa, others were reporting Largo, then it was seminal.
It's each news report you get. There's a different city.
The story we have at this point is he had a heart attack behind the wheel.
His wife, barely a year, was with him in his 2009 Jeep.
He went over a concrete median into a tree. He passed away at the hospital.
His new wife got away on a hard, thank goodness.
But we want to take a few minutes and talk about.
We used the word great a lot.
But is there any other word that applies to Randy Savage?
You know, he was one of those guys.
I just don't know if the popularization of 1980s and in the early late 90s of wrestling would be what it was without him.
I think he was just one of those guys.
Very shocking and also a great pitchman. He did the movie Bolt.
Did a lot of voiceover work.
It wasn't just in the ring.
Something here that I've come across was 51 talent to appear at WrestleMania 7 or dead.
51, 51.
Yeah.
I've never heard that many people on the car.
14 have died prematurely.
Texas tornado.
Kerry Von Erick.
Of course, you're locally in Dallas.
Everybody knows that is Dino Bravo.

Randy Savage.
Along with the Grilla Monsoon and Lord Alfred Hayes.
Off that last chance.
Let's talk a little bit about the life of Randy Savage.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio.
His father Angelo at one point had the healthy world sit-up record.
Apparently he could just start doing sit-ups and just go and tell
he just just bored when it.
He was also his father was also a well-known professional wrestler in the 50s and 60s.
So Randy was a multi-generational guy.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1971.
I was negative too in the time.
Played minor league baseball for the Cardinals, Reds, and White Sox until 1974.
Something interesting about that.
At one point in his minor league baseball career.
He injured his throwing shoulder.
So he learned to throw with the other arm.
Yeah, I read that.
He had 16 career.
Model League home runs.
I believe it said.
And he would do wrestling in the offseason from playing baseball.
So he always had something going on.
Yeah, you know, he was just always in great shape.
Hardness for me to see him in the pitchers that they've been showing it to making
its media rounds.
Him with the white hair.
It was weird seeing Randy that bad out of shape.
I know he was 58 years old.
But Randy to me was way out of shape at that point in time.
He entered professional wrestling in 1973 during a baseball offseason.
First wrestling character he was the spider friend.
Which later he would play.
He would play.

Yeah.
The name Randy Savage given to him by one only Anderson.
I read that said he wrestled like a savage.
He thought Randy Poffa was in a good wrestling name.
So he went with that.
Worked a lot with his father and brother.
His brother, of course, the genius or the professor.
Randy Poffa, leaping landing.

Nothing.
Then he worked for Memphis if you did with Waller.
Boy, and that I was talking to our marketing director here.
We were talking on the phone last week.
Our last last week, but Friday afternoon.
And that feud went on until the mid 90s.
That went on as late as 1997.
He was in the Memphis territory.
Of course, feuding with the ultimate fan favorite.
They're in Memphis and Jerry the King Waller.
And it was today.
Yeah.
It was very strange to see Randy in prevents promoting.
Randy Savage on a Memphis card there.
Randy, great in the ring.
Nobody could cut a more insanely crazy out of his mind.
Random stuff.
Like Randy Savage.
He did tag with his brother.
And they did it with a rock and roll express at one point.
Randy actually injured Ricky Boyd.
He did.
To palatriding through a table.
If I'm not mistaken.
Yeah.
Crazy.
The thing about Randy was I just don't know.
And it's proven.
For some reason, I don't know if Vince never really wanted to put the title on him for very long.

That was it.

One thing.
I didn't realize that he married Elizabeth before he was even in the WWE.
Or WWE.

At the time.
He married Elizabeth.
December the 30th, 1984.

And he wouldn't date you with the WWE episode.
June of 1985.
And another one that had just a real premature death was.
And by the time they married on television.
They were not even divorced.

He won World War three one of my personal favorite paper views in 1995
He won the cable king of cables for it and I saw that was like I don't remember this thing ever taken place
But he was WWE F champion twice
That's weird, but he was only intercontinental champion one time that to me when I think of that intercontinental belt
I think Savage, but he only held it once
But back back then you had a year run easy if you want a belt and you're gonna get it was gonna get
WrestleMania WrestleMania pretty much yeah, he was king of the ring in 87
I want to just go you're some of your favorite memories of Savage before we get to the meat of what what this segment's gonna be about
I think the food with Rick and 92 absolutely I like that
I liked the mega powers bit because it's been a while since you've seen a guy win a belt and then the character change

Which I believe is an Iowa somewhere, but not Vince's Hall of fame. He is in the professional wrestling hall of fame
But he is not in the WWE Hall of fame. Well, he should be a lot of people thought this year
We were supposed to get the WCW class if you watch that that obviously did not happen right so I
Think it's time to put him in I think it's past time to put him in
Well, you think about that though and you and I talked about this at length on the phone and lunch on Friday
You think about how big this class could be you're in Miami
So the rock is almost a given savage a Elizabeth. I think edge goes the next year in Toronto
But we don't know that it's gonna be in Toronto for sure. Yeah. Well, I just I have a feeling
I mean it's it's on wax now. I mean if it happens right all the credit in the world, but if it doesn't have a lot
