Read Transcript
It is Tuesday night, it is 8 o'clock on the East Coast, it is 5 o'clock on the West Coast,
which means only one thing, it means it is time for the clubhouse of Robert Cody, live
on U-Street as it is ancient every Tuesday night. I got to give props, that's why we open
with this song. I will be a respectful guy. I am Rob, ancient every Tuesday night across
the desert for me, is the man known as Cody. Hello, we are totally live tonight. Congratulations.
All right, or as you said, the Dallas Mavericks, I never thought in my 30, almost 31 years,
I never say this, NBA World Champions. And we have a lot to talk about with that later
in the show. Absolutely. So we want to welcome everybody here. Absolutely. Absolutely.
Hope to get new listeners. Please get in a chat room. We don't know you jump in, very interactive
show. We have no issue if you just want to be a guest and listen in, but we'd appreciate
it if you would register. It doesn't cost you anything. So you can get in the chat room,
but that's no who you are as you are each and every week. Season 1, episode 49 and 49,
which means next week is a very, very big show, sir. Fifty. Fifty next week. Fifty
shows. We just blew up Vegas. And I have. And during college football talk, I didn't
have to told you yet. I have an announcement to make during college football talk. Something
that we, we enjoyed during college football season will be making a comeback in season
two. Really. Very excited about that, sir. Absolutely. And that's later on in the show
as we will get NBA baseball bottom of the, that's me top of the second and top of two in
the Bronx. Zero, zero Yankees and Rangers right now. If you haven't been by a channel
this afternoon, you know Derek Geter on a 15 day disabled list. Officially,
yeah, it is a big talk about that MLB talk. It'll be talk, but first time since it's
O3. But each and every week on this show, we always begin with corrections. So let's
go there. I want to say something real quick. Please do run riot.
Or good. Or good friend. Yeah, I got his brown belt in Brazilian gin jitsu on Saturday.
Not I emailed you. Yeah, he did. He did. He did. He got a black belt three more years
to get to that white dog ranking. So a lot of respect for those guys in the martial
arts, getting those rankings. No, they don't just hand those things out. No, no, you
don't get that with 10 bucks in oil. That's all I'm saying. I got an orange stripe. I
never did that. I used to see kids doing that. They'd like cost it money. And we didn't
have that one. I was a kid. But the only correction, not only the correction, just kind
of a follow up. We talked a couple of weeks ago when we had Kelly on. Yes, about the
Oprah finale, the Tulsa world had her best best rate of best viewerships since 94. 16.4
million people cheating in for the Oprah finale. I was not one of those. You know, I need
to do. We need to do a show one time, kind of like in race. In race technology, Cody
won't embrace until he gets it for free. I think we need to do Cody's hot sports opinions
on Oprah. So I want to welcome just stopping by this. He's multi task landsees.com boy,
man, man, Mr. Me and him have been real busy. Me and me, him and the rest of the sooner
nation been real busy. A lot of big recruits coming and going and a lot of things going
on. So Jess has been keeping me on top of. Well, he's multi tasking tonight, too. So
tweeting. Yeah, definitely. It's Twitter. Definitely. If you get on on Twitter, you definitely
follow a land thieves as both of us do. Yeah, as great, great site. Cater's towards one
fan base. No, but hey, but they also have the chicken, the chicken, the day to bake. Yes.
So definitely check out his site. Of course, the BCS chick, 10 of Lee, two weeks from today.
Two weeks from today. Two weeks from today. We are tentatively scheduled to have her on.
Very excited about that. But we're going to start with something I like to call this.
Go to the Orlando Central breaking news from the NBA front. Of course, we go live to the
other side of the studio to Cody and can we trust TMZ? Can we trust them? You know what,
there was a time where you could, but more, it seems like more and more every day. Hey,
Brandon's here as well. Hello, brother. Every day they seem to be breaking stuff that you go,
it was like, what was it that one of a local radio guy here once said, the thing about the
inquiry, you may not trust them, but they're always a month ahead of everybody. Well, TMZ reported
this afternoon should kill O'Neal. Shack, as you know, retired a few weeks back, was questioned by
Los Angeles detectives about his involvement. And he may have or had not been in, beating a man
by street gang back in February of 2008. According to TMZ, the alleged victim, Robert Ross was believed
to own a sex tape involving O'Neal and another woman while he was married to his former ex-wife.
Now, Ross was allegedly beaten by seven members of the Main Street Mafia Crip gang in LA.
Is that Pete Gass in the boys? No, that's the Main Street part. Okay, I'm sorry. But who are
allegedly friends with Shack? Why Shack would need to be involved with the Crips? I have no idea.
But Landel rolls when the gang members allegedly pistol whipped Ross and demanded he turn over
the sex tape. When Ross said he would give the tape up, the man allegedly took Ross's Rolex,
diamond chain earrings, and who in the hell carries $15,000 cash?
Not me. Yeah, but the seven men have been arrested in charge with robbery and kidnapping
and other crimes. They are guilt currently in jail. In the middle of the trial, O'Neal is not
listed as a suspect. We'll be keeping an eye on that situation. So Shack, you know, and I was always
a Shack fan. Just, just says Shack's big enough to handle his own battles. Sorry, isn't past
the belt? I hope not. I hope not. Because Shack, Shack, to me, just he didn't. Shack, to me,
doesn't have that feel to me. But maybe you never know. But we'll be keeping an eye on that story,
as well as every other story we'd like to break on our Facebook page. Follow us on Facebook
at the Clubhouse Podcast. You can follow us on Twitter. I guess that rob urban ERBIN ERBIN IN.
And I am Cody P.S. Hawkins. Thanks a lot of new followers this week. So I definitely appreciate
that. Good news for you, sir. Also, you can follow the show at ClubhouseWRNC. We have to actually
investigate that. But let's get into our first segment of the show.
Brandon says rapper Birdman carries 200,000 at all times on his first Birdman.
Love the song. Yes, that's NASCAR. It is NASCAR talk.
You know, we both have a, we both have a, I believe I had that moment this week. Yeah,
if you listened to last week, we were talking about NASCAR who made their way to Pennsylvania for
the Polkino 500 at the Polkino Motor Speedway. And we were talking and you asked me, Cody,
what do you think about this? I said a Hendrix car and wouldn't be shocked if it was Jeff Gordon.
It dog on it. If you weren't right, I'll vote count. Jeff Gordon does win the Polkino 500.
This is one of, there's a lot of stats coming out of this race because let me tell you something.
Jeff Gordon's getting close to that age and wins. We're going to start him being mentioned
with Dale Earnhardt, with Kyle Petty, with Kill Yarmroll, with Darryl Walton. You're starting to hear
Jeff Gordon's name being mentioned around some of the all time. When you think about NASCAR,
some of the greats of this sport. Let me, let me ask you this and you talk about Jeff Gordon.
If they're a weirder guy in sports to ever be vilified, is there ever a stranger case
for somebody to be vilified to Jeff Gordon? I think the problem why a lot of people didn't like Jeff
is because of the Earnhardt factor. When Gordon came on, he came on right up to me, the peak
of Dale Earnhardt's senior in his height in the sport. And what happened was you had Jeff Gordon
winning a lot of races very quickly. And to my opinion, I'm sure there's other NASCAR guy that will
debate me. To me, Dale Earnhardt was kind of on the back end of his career in my opinion. But the
Gordon won. We all know a lot of people. I'm sure he still gets boot quite a bit.
But he has 84 wins. That was one of the records out of this race, which ties him with such names
as Bobby Allison and Darryl Walton for the most wins in Cut History. And he's tied with Bill
Elliott with five wins on the two and a half mile triangle track. So you're starting here.
Gordon's kind of starting to rack up a lot of records. Okay, but your top 10 is we always do
we give you your top 10. Jeff Gordon followed by Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, a brother's finish in two
and three. Jimmy Johnson in fourth, another hatred car. Kevin Harbick in fifth, Dale Earnhardt,
Jr. in sixth, another top 10 for Jr. So he's put together to me. This is the best I've ever seen,
Dale Earnhardt Jr. run. Absolutely hands down. He's had one Pablo Montoya in seventh.
My father is in eighth Ryan Newman in ninth and Martin Truex Jr. in the Toyota finishing 10
in all of this madness. Here we go next week, another different track as we head down to
Lonnie County, Michigan Brooklyn, Michigan actually at the Michigan. We are looking for
the Brooklyn Queen. Michigan International Speedway is where we get this thing fired up Sunday.
Shake it. Once again, a deshaped oval track, which means you're going to have probably
of the corners, long straightaways, short corners. I wouldn't say short, but very shot corners on
each end. Jr. is actually one at Michigan. This was Dale Earnhardt Jr's last win was at the Michigan
Motor Speedway. Don't know if he does it again. I think he's getting new as he's staying around
the top 10 every week, but I'm going to go on a limb and it's been a while. So you're not going
to retire on top. You're going to know what you're trying to do. I just feel like Rouse Motorsports,
which is a Ford company. I always think that the Rouse cars do extremely well in my opinion.
They do extremely well at Michigan. So I'm going to go on a limb and I'm going to say Carl Edwards
bounces back and I'm a Chevrolet guy. If you know me, you are, I'm a Chevrolet guy. I just think
that Carl Edwards, who's kind of been, he's one, he's a points leader. I think he's do another win
and I think it's going to come this this Sunday at Michigan Motor Speedway. That leads us to this
week's sprint cup standing. As Carl Edwards, like I mentioned, is your points leader? He leads
Jimmy Johnson by six points. Dale Earnhardt Jr. now 10 points back of the Wednesday of the sprint
cup chase lead. Wow. Followed by Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Matt Kindeth, Clint Boyer,
Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, and now your 12th and final spot. If the chase was to
end tonight, this man is in one Pablo Montoya. My father prepared today. You are out. So now,
Danny Hamlin holding on to the 12th spot in the sprint cup chase. But we still got a long,
we say a long way to go in this field. But some guys are kind of having that feel. I think you've
got a few blocks. I think Harvick's a lot. I think both Busch brothers are a lot.
And I think if Junior can get another or two more top 10s, I think he's a lot.
And I didn't think I'd say that. As you're going to say, what was the last time you can honestly
say that? That junior to me is a lock in the chase. But that is a NASCAR talk for this week.
Please, any questions? And if you find corrections, please email and you can email me at
Cody at the clubhouse with robincoady.com. And I am robin to clubhouse with robincoady.com.
Shall we talk about what's going to happen in five days? Yes, I'm excited about this.
You're the only one. Five days away from tonight. We'll be live at Fox in the
Hound. I'm excited to be there. I'm not excited for the big review. Let me make a correction.
We will be live at Fox in the Hound, Richardson, Texas for WWE capital punishment.
Yes, we know that's Father's Day. We know the deal. But please, if you can,
join us. We'll be live. Yeah, we'll be live for a pre-show.
Pre-show starts at six pay-per-view starts at seven three dollar cover.
The great people at Fox in Hound will have a accommodated us with a private room.
They shut the doors. They closed the windows. They've got a shuffle board table,
pool table, start boards, the whole nine yards. Lauren's board TVs and you can check this.
They've got two two projectors. Again, excited to be at Fox in Hound. Not excited for this car.
Yes, yes. The car's not shaping up. We have a lot of fun out there. Like I said,
three dollars gets you in the door. You'd see us for free. We're going to try to do
anything. See us. Not as far as I'm concerned. So please join us.
Side deals working. We will be live. Great food, great drink specials there.
15 dollar buckets of Miller Lite, two dollar, two olive vodka drinks,
minus monster and juice, and four dollar big course light or Miller Lites.
It's a shame I have that memorized, but I do. There was a time with those rows reversed.
So please, please, please join us out there. We'll be totally live.
Totally, totally. We'll be there for a long time.
Yes, look at their early. You just have to see it in one of those big leather chairs.
We are going to move on now. Do a little bit of music news. I thought of you when I
got to write this first bullet point. And she will. Boy,
are you saying you didn't see this in hurt? I'm not saying I would go see this,
but I'm telling you sure. Well, as we all know currently at the Palm in Vegas,
Garth is working on a multi-year run, Garth Brooks,
where they're basically using their private plane to fly him back and forth to Vegas.
From Tulsa. From Tulsa. But now there's another artist who has just signed a two-year stint in Vegas.
At Caesar's Palace, December the 1st, 2012,
you had to pick this one, huh? It was just the first day that came up.
And should I? It's Wayne. I have to put you know what that means.
Once you, once you book along from staying in Vegas, you're done. You're done. Yeah,
that's my theory. Hey, man, I could, I could hear her sing on mute all day long.
I can listen to her. Breathe the phone book. I'm okay with that. I need it on mute.
Not big on her. He's not big on her voice, really. I am, but I don't, I guess,
I guess I was just not big on any song she's ever had out. But yeah, Shania Twain,
boy, let me tell you. That's still the one, not doing it in three.
Boy, which is the name of her show still the one. I remember when she,
when she busted on the scene, man, she was everywhere. And then, you know, with Nashville,
she showed her belly button. She really, she really did. That was okay with that. She really,
blazed a trail there in Nashville, but good for Shania. You know, we just went through a nasty
divorce with producer Mutt Lang. So, uh, Shania, I can make a little coin and go back to Switzerland.
So, go back to Switzerland where she was living. Well, when she was in the mud, they're not living
there now. Are they? She still is. Okay. She, she Canadian began to win.
Are, is there already a lack of trust for that factor? We apologize to all our Canadian listeners.
America's hat.
Singing the, in the country music fame?
Yeah, just bringing up a little who's better if you boosted in under.
And what was the beat, not the beat from, uh, was that, uh,
did that sample the, was not the one that sampled? I was any man of mine that did it.
Any man of mine? Yeah. For some sugar. Yeah.
CMT Awards were this past week. One of the 19 country music awards. There's only two that
matter. The CMAs and the AMAs. And this is neither of those. CMAs and, yeah, AMA, that's right.
Video of the year going to Cody's favorite new artist, Taylor Swift.
For mine. Hey, can't knock the kid. She's, she's making a little coin. She writes her own
material. That's why I'll never hate him. Can't knock it. Now this group here.
This is my crit tonight. Do a video of the year goes to, and this, this song is terrible.
Yeah. Sugarland stuck like glue, but you know what?
There's another single as I was at the movie theater the other night that I heard.
And you know, not, not another, not a bad song on that tonight, tonight, tonight or whatever it is.
I like that. I kind of like that song.
Group video goes to Lady Annabelleum for Hello World. Not to be confused with Hello Room,
which is Cody's next single. Hello room.
Collaborative video. Never, never. You believe this. Never even knew this song or this video
even existed. I know I know I know.
That's the flats and Justin Bieber.
Justin Bieber has a CMT award. Does that no one avoid the whole thing to you?
Like I said, to me, we talked on the other, the other night on the phone.
Any, anything to me that's country music related, it's Viacombs involved in being CBS.
I have my, my, uh, doubts on that because the, the CMT awards are country music's
entered to the MTV video music awards. So I really don't put a lot of stock in these awards.
They're all fan voted. So that, I guess that's, that's cool.
Performance of the year goes to Zach Brown, Band and Jimmy Buffett. I'm assuming for their
crossroads. Yes. That song that they released has been out two weeks.
Well, the, but crossroads is a while back. This next group, this next group is going to be huge.
Breakthrough video goes to the band Perry for If I Die Young.
Yes. Yes. And I just as rascal flat side of the CMT award, Boyd Thull.
Yeah. You might be right. But this, this band Perry, I, I'm not real big on them.
I have two of them related. They're all related. Oh, they all are.
Okay. Two brothers and a sister. And I'm assuming maybe their last name is Perry.
That's absolutely right. But, um, they're related to Joe Perry. No, I think they're going to be the
next big thing. They just have that. Are you saying that in a good way or a bad way?
Um, in a good way. I think you're going to start seeing a lot of them.
Are they going to be more what you consider to be country?
Absolutely not. Okay. So, so not really.
Now, if you're not talking the Red Dirt Country Music Awards or Texas Country Awards, I'm in.
Reminds us. Let's move on, shall we?
But, uh, in this next girl, female video of the year, Miranda Lambert, the house that built me.
Let me take something. I love that song. Yeah. I love the song.
The song is a gorgeously written song.
Love the song, but like everything else, Nashville radio killed it.
I see that's why I don't listen to radio. Nashville radio killed it.
Male video of the year played her husband, Blake Shelton. Who were you when I'm not looking?
Right. That is a country music song. I'm fine. That's a great song like that.
But once again, uh, that's your real hot and cold with Blake Shelton, see?
Yeah. As long as we stay away from Big Old Red.
I'm about to go.
So, was that our first ever recorded duet?
Yeah. I guess that's my bit with that.
If Blake Shelton can stay away from songs like Old Red, I mean, sad news on this last bit.
Absolutely. This came down on Sunday. We're going to change the music for that one.
Give some love to this guy.
Clarence Clements.
If you don't know who he is, listen to any Bruce Springsteen album with a saxophone solo on it.
He even mentions him by name in the beginning of his Santa Claus is coming to town.
He said, Clarence, you've been back in some real hot maybe Santa Claus bringing a new saxophone.
That's who we're talking about. Clarence Clements had a stroke on Sunday.
He was reported to be seriously ill he is actually communicating now.
He's getting a little bit better. They're still not sure when they're going to be able to upgrade
his condition. But I'm a huge being a guy that plays the saxophone.
I have a huge Clarence Clements fan and this makes me very, very sad.
We're the great saxophone players.
Now, let's go on to this other one that's not on your run sheet but on mine.
We talked about this in pre-show. If you know Cody, you know Cody.
It's a huge George Strait fan.
Yes. George Strait, which we talked about on the phone the other night.
Kind of overdue for some new material.
Yeah, it's funny how we were talking about that during the we were talking after the show
the other night kind of just off the cuff and I said that like, you know, it's kind of weird.
George has been kind of quiet because therefore a minute, he was putting out, man,
he was putting out an album a year and I think that was just backlogged material.
So now I think George has had to get back in the studio and had to kind of put out some new stuff.
So I'm going to play a little bit of this brand new single that dropped today.
I want to hear your opinions.
So I just called here for a good time.
So we're going to pause, praise him.
We're going to keep all George.
This dropped today.
Brandy's spanking it.
I'm not going to lay around and why I'm on the course.
Sounds good.
Wait to get to the course.
Okay, I love this.
There's a lot of the course that I know it's right up your alley.
Here comes.
Here comes.
You ready?
Here comes.
There you go.
And number one.
That's what I think something that George got away from.
I don't know if it was his kids.
I don't know if it was his situation.
But to me, George got away from trying to get away from the honky-tongue stuff a little bit.
And that's where he's at if you heard of a place called Green Hall.
George straight with his music was built a lot in the Texas now considered Texas country.
Great song.
Rumor is, album comes out in two weeks.
Two weeks, so new material.
I'm told.
Okay.
Research on that.
But yeah, great song.
Good for George.
Real quick, one nothing Yankees.
Bottom of the second there in New York.
That gave you guys getting underway a little bit late due to rain.
New music, new releases this week.
There's only three of any consequence.
Barry Manolo releases 15 minutes today.
So there's that.
The guitarist and the group you hear currently.
Jimmy Page.
One of the greatest guitarists that's ever walked the face of God.
That's really, really.
Releases playing up a storm.
And a new album from Ziggy Marley today called Wild and Free.
And yes, it is when he is the son of Bob Marley.
And I would venture to say he likes to roll the doobies.
Just saying.
Can't do that without the hand motion.
That's going to do it for music talk.
You are listening to the clubhouse of the Robin Cody live on Ustream.
We are here every Tuesday night.
Eight on the East Coast.
Five on the West Coast.
Always your one stop shop for all things.
Sports, pop culture, professional wrestling.
It's kind of what we do if you know what I'm talking about.
Make sure you join us each and every week.
Make sure you go to our website at www.theclubhousewithrobincody.com.
Go to our merchandise store.
Get you some swag, man.
We need you guys to help us represent out in the real world.
Wow.
Was that street rob?
That's how our rolls are.
Yeah, definitely go over there.
If you go to our website, click on the show logo in the middle of the page.
That takes you right to Ustream to listen.
But then yeah, go to thanks to the great people at CathayPress.com.
Shirts, shot glasses, hats, iPad 2, iPad 1 cases.
A lot of stuff going on there.
So let's get into the one aspect of this show that we haven't covered yet.
As we get to do a little professional wrestling talk.
Let's talk TNA or something that loosely resembles it.
Only one real headline to talk about when it comes to total non-stop action
wrestling this week.
Apparently, Hulk Hogan is doing a 90-minute stage show to her this summer.
Now, when you said this, is this comedy?
I know, I'm trying to look it up right now.
I haven't heard for sure.
I'm looking to see if there's headlines.
This is the only thing.
Okay, here is a
from Tampa Bay dot com, which is probably the Tampa St. Pete time forms or whatever they're calling it.
These days?
According to a press release from the agency group, how generic is that?
Hulk Hogan will develop a stage show of shorts featuring the muscle bounce celebrity talking
about his life and career.
This is an international booking group which handles everybody from a tribe
called Quest to Polly Shore.
So there's like, there's a range there.
The release says that 90-minute show offers a celebrity interviewer
talking to Hogan for a program called in-conversation outside the ring with Hulk Hogan.
Okay.
Some dates in 2011, most of the performances in fall of 2012.
Okay.
I don't know what I think, but this really doesn't do all that for me.
Everybody got to make money.
Let's go to Impact meters for this week.
Hogan was in two segments.
We had four brothers and no dudes.
Also, your wrestling matters meter?
That sounds like something Dr. Seuss would do, a wrestling matters meter.
Your first match was at the 1830 mark, but it was a knockout match.
So you count that as a half a match if I'm not mistaken.
Is that correct?
That's your all count that.
Your second match was at the 39-minute mark.
You then didn't have another match until an hour 16.
And then one in an hour 29, your main event was at 145.
So five matches on the wrestling matters meter.
First thing I noticed this week, we all of a sudden had to cut to some cell phone footage.
You saw this.
Of Samoa Joe and Crimson fighting in a bar.
I actually had a root canal that night.
But I didn't see this, and I just, I really,
I could actually, I don't understand what's going on.
But then today, Hogan and Bishoff were coded.
We love the direction of TNA wrestling.
Well, I just don't understand it.
I think what I thought was funny about this cell phone footage.
If you're going to try to, you know, stage this kind of thing,
do me a solid.
Don't have every TV in the entire restaurant on Spike TV showing CSI.
I mean, can we at least blur the TVs and have it on ESPN or something?
Can we, yeah, Viacom owns more than just Spike.
Yeah, I thought that was just the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
MTV.
Yeah.
Okay, well, MTV in a bar would make it even weirder.
So here's a question for you.
I want you to remind our listeners.
Real quick, what is the 30-day rule for professional wrestling?
30-day rule used to be that you had to defend your belt every 30 days or you had to relinquish it.
If I'm not mistaken,
hopefully I'm going the right direction there.
But that's what I thought.
That is correct.
Okay.
And on this show two weeks ago,
beer money was almost stripped of their tag titles because they hadn't defended 30 days.
So here's my question.
Book a match.
Mexican America.
When was the last time Rosita and Sarita defended the knockout tag title?
There's so much, there's so much going on around that whole,
to me, that whole whirlwind federation of what that is.
I just have, I have a hard time watching a lot of their programming because to me it,
it looks cheap.
And I don't like to view that kind of stuff.
It always looks like WCW Saturday night.
Exactly.
Hit it right on the head.
A lot of you kids in the chat room might be too young to remember that.
But you're right.
It looks like a bad studio show.
Absolutely.
And it was just, you know, speaking of Mexican America,
I just want to throw a suggestion because, you know, I'm an idea man.
I want help me help you with my point.
I get the fact that when you come to the ring, you want to drop the big Mexican flag behind you.
And so in case anybody hadn't figured out that that's who you were.
But here's my thing.
Bring the flag back up when the match starts.
You lost a quarter of the impact zone during that match because they couldn't see through the flag.
Whoa.
Got a bomb.
And it was there.
It was there the whole time.
Uganda.
Uganda, we got a problem.
As New York's opened up,
bored nothing over Texas in the bottom of two.
In the 20th century of Uganda.
Uganda's the picture.
Oh, Uganda.
Alexio Gonda.
Uganda.
Uganda's a country.
That's not a very confused thing.
A lot of in a lot of rumors, this might be kind of one of them situations.
Get off subject for a second.
A lot of people thought he has already pitched his way into the all-star game.
So that's going to be the belt.
He's going for eight notes tonight.
So he is getting, and he's almost in the,
they're mine.
He's real close bit of bass path right there.
Yeah, real close.
And here's another question.
They are we going to have to change the title belt again?
Since it's no longer, he still has the TNA logo on the belt.
Is it now going to be the impact wrestling?
This was something I was going to wait and see what happened.
I was thinking about this as well,
in going, huh, how are we going to work this?
Because that's an ugly belt.
Oh, that's a very ugly belt.
I don't know if other than their exhibition,
I don't know if TNAs ever had a decent looking belt.
I like their old, before the Marty Grau belt.
I like that world title.
The one that Eric Young is running around with right now.
I like that belt.
I thought it was a good looking belt.
And then in your main event,
you have a tag team match as Eric,
the aforementioned Eric Young, tags with Sting.
I saw the take on Mr. Anderson and Gunner.
And Sting does the job to Gunner.
I saw that and I went,
sir, last time I checked, your name is Sting.
Yeah, I saw it was like, I'm not saying that.
That Sting has to be able to say,
I don't want to do the job for this guy.
I understand you want to help out the kids,
but I don't know if you've earned the fact to pin Sting.
No, exact.
Oh, that was weird for me.
I agree, I agree.
John's joined us, Matt's joined us.
Hello.
Can any gentlemen and Ron's here, of course, as well?
Then we had slam aversary on Sunday,
which kind of came and went.
I mean, I didn't hear anybody really talk about it.
Well, you know what's funny real quick,
I told you before we started the funny thing about this,
was they gave the results away on their website at bell time.
Now, was it just just this one?
Just the title, Matt.
Yeah, they had already put Ken Anderson as champion
on their website at bell time.
Anderson does beat Sting for the impact wrestling,
it's the TNA World Championship.
I'm getting confused.
Also Kurt Angle does win the final battle with Jeff Jarrett,
so he does not have to give up his Olympic gold medal.
However, he now becomes number one contender.
Hadn't we seen this before?
Rest of the rules.
But Jess, I do see that.
Yeah, that's a that's a weird thing.
Sting turns down WrestleMania to job to gunner.
I like that.
Oh, he said that he's,
Sting said on Thursday night that he's prepared to grow
with this company and is excited about where they're going.
Really?
I don't know about all that.
God bless you, Sting.
Here we go.
God bless you, Sting.
But come on, man.
Come on, baby.
Come on, baby.
Come on, baby.
Cody's here.
We're all excited with the TV in the studio.
Wow.
Seven, nothing.
That's the biggest bottom of the second.
And that's really all I've got for for impact news this week.
Don't tug on Superman's cake, boys.
It's June.
Stop it.
You are listening to the Clubhouse's Robin Cody.
If you had figured it out,
but now we appreciate each and every one of you being with us.
Make sure you're following us on Twitter.
Make sure you join our Facebook page.
Don't forget to join us Sunday,
six o'clock, Fox and Hound in Richardson, Texas.
Just west of Central Expressway on Campbell Road.
A lot of fun out there.
You know, I'm excited about that.
It's probably going to be one of the most difficult pre-shows
we've ever had to do because we just,
we don't really know what to think of this card.
But trust me, if you know me and you,
if you know Rob and I, we will figure something out.
Maybe we sit around and talk Gator football for,
hey, I won board, I won board with that.
But I don't know about you,
but we have another title that's still on the line right now.
Speaking of titles on the line,
it is time for a little stick puck as we like to say.
And is this the craziest sport
in of them all going?
When I left the, when we left the area the other night,
there wasn't a doubt in my mind that the Vancouver
conducts, I thought in my opinion,
we're going to be the Stanley Cup champion.
Something told me, and I was just the opposite.
Something told me that this thing was going seven.
It just, and we have a game seven that goes,
it's underway tomorrow night in Vancouver.
In Vancouver, Canadian.
And that's the catch because no road, no road team.
That's all I took that one down.
No, no road teams won.
And that was going to be one of my things is,
we always talk about how in hockey,
home ice means nothing.
It doesn't, it doesn't mean nothing.
But every whole team in this series has won.
I don't think that can continue.
So you're saying Boston tomorrow night in Vancouver,
well, they pulled Luongo fairly quickly.
Really quickly, Mike.
And it's bad because at least Boston,
to be the deal, Boston can at least stay competitive in Vancouver.
Vancouver comes to Boston and they just get so,
wow, they could not play on the road for some reason.
They cannot play well in any TD garden.
John, John, a mid-brewance fan.
He's got his blood pressure is probably going to be about
900 over 1200 tomorrow night in three hours.
Game sevens are one of my favorite things in sport.
Well, hockey game sevens are so much different
than baseball or basketball because it's one deal.
I mean, if you get confused, it's like open netter,
wrong direction, your season's over.
I just don't think every home team winning.
I, and for my bet man, I'm saying Vancouver,
but I just don't know if that can continue through this series
like it has so far.
And you have a standing bet, right now.
I'm standing bet with John.
Remind everybody about that.
Please, John, me and John have made a little swag exchange
what we've called it.
If the Bruins do hoist the cup tomorrow night in Vancouver,
I will get a,
at a Boston Bruins Stanley Cup champion t-shirt.
And I will then in turn by John, either a clubhouse
with Robin Cody Hat T-shirt and or one of the brand new shot glasses
that we have at www.theclubhousewithrobincody.com.
So that is it.
You did an odd Boston stat that you want.
It was a very odd, well, the odd Boston stat is to me
that I did not realize when I saw them, huh?
Boston is the, if the Bruins win,
the Patriots had the longest championship drought in Boston.
The Patriots.
Celtics, Celtics, Red Sox, now the Bruins,
so if the Bruins win, the New England Patriots have the longest title drought
in the city of Boston.
That's insane.
Take a picture, absolutely right, I'm thinking about it, yeah.
Yeah, I thought it was a very strange stat win.
The Celtics win in 0-8.
Uh-huh.
The Red Sox won in 0-7?
0-7?
So yeah, I thought that was a strange stat
because you think of New England being dominating the NFL.
They have at least the past eight decade, at least I think I can say,
but it's where they haven't won a suit ball in very long
and it's just weird to think that Boston Bruins would win another title
before the New England Patriots.
And they would be the longest drought of what?
Six years?
Six years to come on.
Six or seven?
But definitely tune in on, that is going to be NBC,
your local NBC affiliate tomorrow night.
Putt Drops at 7.
And that's network television.
Yeah, so maybe at least got that going.
Sorry, putt Drops at 7 tomorrow night in Vancouver.
Vancouver going for their first cup in franchise history tomorrow night.
Yes, sir.
Speaking of which, we will talk about other first in franchise history
later in the show.
And trust me, folks, get in the chat room right now.
If you're one of the people not in the chat room,
but listening, get in, let me tell you something.
Explosive, explosive NBA talk coming up.
Trust me.
Trust me.
Yeah, we got dueling sides here, absolutely.
But me and Rob come to get a lot of points.
We're going to different a lot of points.
So definitely get in the room.
NBA talk.
Two segments away.
Very explosive.
So get ready.
Going to do a couple of random sports thoughts for you real quick.
And I was having trouble finding music for this segment.
So I just typed thoughts into my music library.
Came up with this.
Yeah, yeah.
By the way, folks, see you next week.
Just a couple for this week.
Thursday, June 9th, or June 9th, 2007.
And her only race against the Colts, not the Indianapolis Colts.
Rags to riches becomes the first Philly in 102 years to win the Belmont.
And the first to do so in the mile and a half distance,
since it was established in 1926.
Boys, there are sport more than that needs a triple crown winner than horse racing.
The winning ticket paid $10.60 on a $2 bet.
Wow.
June 11th, 1990 as we get a local on you.
Pitching for the Texas Rangers, no one Ryan records the sixth of his seven career,
no hitters in Oakland.
130 pitches.
Strikes out 14 and walks two.
You know, and I'm really, and then saying this,
I've really got some really hot opinions about about Nolan Ryan.
But he pitched and then pitched another one a year later against Toronto.
Think about this, though.
It's his first no hitters since 1981.
Uh-huh.
Following two in 1973 and 174 and 175.
So let me go ahead and redo that chronologically for you.
73, 74, 75, 81, 90, and 91.
Isn't that weird?
Yeah, I remember the 91 one because, uh,
Pudge actually caught that game against Toronto,
on the stadium.
What's funny about that game is the attendance there was about 18,
but 38 to 40,000 people claimed they were there.
So, and then I quote for you from Metz Manager Gil Hodges
after trading Nolan Ryan and three other players to the California Angels
for Jim Fregosi in 1971.
The great.
You hate to give up an arm like Ryan's.
He could put it together overnight,
but he hasn't done it for us and the Angels wanted it.
I would not hesitate making a trade for somebody who can help us right now
and Fregosi is such a guy.
Hindsight 2020 maybe?
That's true.
Just saying.
But Nolan Ryan, great.
Let's talk SmackDown.
SmackDown Friday nights.
No major headlines to go through for this.
Oh boy, that show is bad.
By the way, quick breaking, I'm not going to use the sounder.
Natalie Portby gives birth to a son today.
Oh, congratulations.
It's a hot top.
Hey, he could be the one that brings balance to the force.
Just saying.
So, are we going to now work a deal where Cole is now going to be his mouthpiece?
And if so, does this guy not do enough?
I think it was, I just think that was a one night deal.
I really hope so.
They're trying.
Think about Christian is like I said on this show before,
we did not read any SmackDown spoilers on this show Tuesday night,
but what I will say, as we said on this show,
that I think it would be very, very, very difficult
for Christian to get over as a heel in my opinion.
Boy, he did.
He did on Friday night.
He did.
He finally, I think you had to have Cole kind of
jumpstart Christian into that mode where he's not a face and he's on a tweener.
The court now officially done, as far as we know, because
Justin Gabriel and he's later said so.
Good deal.
They said the court is officially over.
Time to break those boys up.
Like to vote.
My problem is those two are going to drown in media hearty.
Yeah, well, they'll hang around the tag belts,
and you know, Vince, if you haven't read today,
Vince has been laying off a lot of developmental guides.
They're he's supposedly cleaning house at FCW right now.
If you've got on your TV,
the ability to go to the Boston game, apparently,
Berlander floating with a no-no.
Detroit.
3-6.
No hits and 10 strikes.
This will be his second one this season.
So, that's going on.
We're all over the map tonight.
Ginger Mahal wrestles again.
Gets in the ring again.
Trent Verreda.
Again, why did we put Colley with this guy?
Just doesn't want to say that it made it.
Natalie Portman's may or may not be his child.
That's all right.
Neither confirmed me nor denied.
Why did we put Colley with Ginger Mahal instead of against it?
Because who else is this guy?
Are you going to move our Mondo Del Rio back in?
It's for the face.
I mean, there's just no where are we going to go with this?
Which is my goodness.
We say that all the time.
Yeah, it seems like me.
I've said that several times on this show.
I don't mind bad booking because sometimes when you have a depleted roster,
you have some guys that haven't developed just yet to get to the main event status.
But to me, where are we going?
I mean, give me some direction and I'll follow you.
But where are we going?
You know, I said this and I'm going to get back on this kind of deal.
When Bob Stoops came to Oklahoma, he gave a direction.
Will Must-Champ went before I'm going to give you direction.
I'm going to follow you.
Yeah.
The way this book is going, to me, it's like we're going all over the place.
You know what I mean?
Did I say at our Mondo Del Rio, I mean Alberto Del Rio.
I apologize, Chad.
I just, it just seems like it's what I like to call...
Darkboard Bookie!
Where we're just...
Okay, this guy is going to...
Okay, this guy is going to fight this guy.
We'll look at Portis and Kid.
He's went through managers every single week on a show that's not even live.
Who...
Okay, but it's not even on television, it's on YouTube.
Release, Tyson Kid.
Problem solved.
There you go.
And can we just go ahead and just play this guy?
Put a bullet in superstars.
Yes.
I beg you.
Yes, our bullet superstars in NXT...
Our Pitch It To Local Affiliates and let them show it whenever the hell they want.
Do I get used to be?
I'm good with that.
Bring back wrestling challenge if you're going to do that.
You know what I mean?
But, um...
Heal.
Heal Christian.
But you know what?
Before we get to that...
And I probably missed a bullet point here and I apologize for that.
How much longer is Cody Rhodes going to milk the mask thing?
Yes, exactly.
It's almost a year, hasn't it?
I'm going to start calling him Rip Hamilton.
I was going to say...
Did it seem like we've been recording it longer?
Yeah, Rip with the pistons that year.
War that thing from the All-Star Break to the end of the Eastern Conference Finals.
When LeBron went 8th.
It's just kind of...
You know, just talks about putting a mask on somebody and rebranding him.
I think we're past that point.
He's always going through my thing.
He's Dusty's kid.
At the end of the day...
I think he was talking about...
Oh.
Generic look can't get over.
Okay.
But again, I've said it.
Dustin got Daddy's looks.
Cody got Daddy's voice.
Yes, you know.
And go ahead and just put priceless back together.
We need some more tag team.
Yeah.
He'd be awesome to meet God.
When he came out at night at Champions in Dallas that night, man.
I was so excited to actually see him.
Big push.
Monster squash.
Done.
There's his career.
And I really thought that Demwell working separately was going to work.
And it just doesn't for either one of them.
Before that, you putting with a failed diva.
I'll top of that as well.
There's that too.
Well, I'll tell you right now.
Turning Christian heel down.
Let me pose this to you because I was thinking about this party
and that it's I was watching Smackdown.
I really allegedly.
Not allegedly.
I was really watching Smackdown.
Did we turn Christian heel to put the belt on him so you don't have to face champions?
We talked about that overnight.
One thing Vince does not like historically does not like to face champions.
Which he currently has.
I'm telling you.
I would love it.
I would.
I'll tell you what.
There's I would go crazy in Fox and a Hald on Saturday on Sunday night
if they put that belt on our truth.
And then you have two heel champs.
No, no, no, no.
They're not putting that belt on our truth.
So if Cena's going to run raw,
you can't think you're going to have a face
orton on Smackdown.
No, but you said you'd love for them.
No, I'd love to.
And I don't mind the people.
I still think Christian wins on Sunday.
The or two heel champion.
They're not going to put the belt on our truth.
They put my saying that.
Everybody told me they were going to put it on Shane.
So I stood by that.
I just I think to me that I think Christian's a logical choice.
You gave him a four day, a 48 hour title run the first time.
I just think you owe the guy a little more than that.
And let's be honest.
At this point, his career at Randy Orton does not need the belt.
But he for some reason, he feels he does.
And he is your cover model for the cover of WWE 12.
That was unfailed early this week as well.
I like Randy.
I just don't think Randy needs the title.
I just I don't know.
But you've got to have him in that main event.
Oh, absolutely.
Because you I think it's virtually impossible for Randy Orton to drown in the mid card.
Oh, because he'll always be Randy Orton.
Kind of like Cena.
Yeah.
When Cena started kind of doing things with Nexus and stuff, I'm like, okay, okay.
Well, the problem there was I think what happened with Randy,
it's going to overshadow your title.
Yes, that's what happened with Cena and Nexus.
It overshadowed.
I think another WWE title.
I think another thing with turning Christian heel was,
I think Randy had flat out ran out of guys to compete against.
You had 12?
Not that deep on SmackDown.
No, it's not.
Kill the, I got a not great idea for everybody.
Kill the brands.
Hey, that's, that's, I've touched that last man.
I hate to smack down versus wrong the video game.
I think it's coming.
I hate to see it go, but unify the belt.
Well, I'm happy to see it go.
I'm more than excited to see the brand separation.
You ready for this?
In four, three, two, one.
Yes.
Well, I'll start this.
Sunday night on the clubhouse is Robin Cody.
Just want to remind you where you are.
On Sunday night, we had something happen that I did not think I would ever see happen.
As the Dallas Mavericks was crowned 2011 NBA champion.
I didn't think I'd see this happen.
I'll be honest with you.
I came on this show at the beginning of this series and I said,
Heat 6.
And can I actually say this for a quick?
I am the smartest man alive.
Carey.
I did, I did.
And I'm from Dallas and I called Heat 6.
I did do that.
I don't think that was way out on a limb.
And almost what?
I don't think I went crazy with it.
Game 1, as we watched in studio and honestly, I'll be honest with you.
I, I saw a team in Miami that I just didn't think Dallas had enough scores at that point in time
to compete with a team like Miami.
I'll admit it.
I thought LeBron trying to cover LeBron, Bosch and D-Wade would be a little too much for Dallas.
I totally admit that.
And I'm going to, I'm going to start first here.
Please do.
And somehow as the series went on,
I noticed a guy that I never had any bones with.
No, I really don't care what the guy did.
And that being, yeah.
I never had a problem with LeBron James.
LeBron James, where he played.
Could he also be the most polarizing individual?
In the NBA for sure, but almost in all the sports.
Yeah, yeah.
When LeBron was, when LeBron had the ball, the flash bulbs went crazy.
When LeBron scored, and I'm saying even Maverick fans,
he was either drawing horrendous cheers or horrendous booze,
depending on what home lawyer on.
Which to me is good for the lead.
I saw this guy disappear to where I called you Tuesday night and asked you.
And where in the hell's LeBron James?
Yeah, and I didn't have an answer for that.
And I've heard all the jokes.
Hey, LeBron is like, today's national, you know what, man?
I got off work 12 minutes early for National Abroad Day.
Hey, sports fans, let's grow up.
Well, here's my thing.
And then I told you this on the phone on Monday after due.
I think with LeBron James, what he's now dealing with is he has spent his entire life.
Literally, his 28, 26 years on this planet being the guy.
Yep.
And everybody gather around, gather around, get on my bat, here we go.
Well, now he's, for the first time in his life,
he's on a team where he's not the only guy.
There's at least one more guy on that team.
And I think that there is, it kind of whipped him out on a certain level.
Exactly.
Oh, absolutely.
I think one thing about LeBron, and it's it.
And take this context, however you like.
And I'm just going to say it.
I think a college education as far as how he communicates with the media would have done
that young man well.
Absolutely.
I've always said, I've always said that.
I don't look it very difficult in that transition.
Up until Monday afternoon, I didn't see LeBron as a voice crack there.
I didn't see LeBron as a vicious person in the media, in the league.
I didn't have anything against the guy.
All these professional athletes are cocky and they don't care about the fans.
It's about money and winning.
They don't care about who, who signs moronographs, they just don't care.
So I've told my son to his face, don't make these cats heroes.
Yeah, because they're not.
They're not.
They even were Charles Murphy did a whole commercial with that.
They are.
They don't make me a robot.
Yeah.
LeBron James is a guy.
He's a young guy.
To me, he is, he is a very polterap, you hit it around the head.
He is the most recognizable athlete in the world.
I also think he's the a rod of basketball.
That's not the first time I've heard that comparison.
I think it took Alex Rodriguez to me at one time.
He was LeBron.
He was a polarizing figure.
Very, but almost, you know, if we want to talk about something,
another sport that you and I haven't come in.
He is the John Cena of the FD.
When you see him, he's a guy that can walk into an arena,
and you can be a 50% cheers and 50%.
You know, a rod loves being booed.
He has said that.
He's made his bed.
He's lining it.
He also plays for the most hated sports franchise in the world.
Absolutely.
First two and second now, the Miami Heat has taken that second spot
as the most hated franchise in sports history.
John asked the question,
do we think all the hate finally got to him?
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
I think that this is just such a different ball of wax
than he has used to dealing with on being on a team
where it's not the Cleveland LeBron.
Yes.
I think, and what did I tell you in the beginning of this season?
If the heat, all I wanted was the playoffs.
Everything else is gravy.
When they made the finals, I said,
if the Mavericks lose this series, it's absolute failure.
If the heat lose this series, it's year one.
A lot of people I don't think understand that.
Well, here, and I'm one that say,
I think there was no pressure if Miami goes out round two,
loses to the Celtics.
Because the Celtics had three bigs.
I didn't think Miami could beat Boston.
They did.
Then they destroyed the MVP of the league in the Bulls.
They destroyed Derek Rose to me.
Became, I'm trying here guys.
Hey, Booser, I need something.
They couldn't do that.
So, but to me, it wasn't all LeBron.
There were times that I plainly think
Rick Carlyle outcoached Eric.
You said that, Spulstra.
Spulstra said that on multiple occasions,
and I'll agree with you.
I just think without coached,
people have to understand that Spulstra was the video guy
before he was the coach of this team.
Exactly.
So, we're not exactly dealing with a pop of itch
or a Phil Jackson or a Don Nelson
or a Lenny Wilkins.
We're not talking about some NBA genius.
Yes, I'm dropping knowledge right now.
So, take notes.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm not talking about a basketball genius type player.
I mean, coach.
Now, Matt, I understand what you're saying here.
We're only on one side of the coin.
We're going to get to the other side of that coin
here just momentarily.
I'm going to tell you right now,
you can pull every single coat owner in the league
and say, start a franchise.
Who you want?
Hands down.
Everyone enters LeBron James.
Absolutely.
So, enough on LeBron.
LeBron is going to be
fine.
I think this team, I've heard a rumor.
Could you package both Fush and Chalmers
for Orlando for Howard?
As Howard's saying, he will be a free agent.
He's not going to sign next time.
We saw that earlier.
Now, to me,
there are,
he's watching the Yankees game again.
There are two possible destinations.
And now I'm going to put a Proviso on this
because if you've been following anything,
you know that in approximately two hours or three hours,
four hours and two minutes,
the NBA collective bargaining agreement has expired.
Yeah, so we're in show.
And I've been, I've heard,
and one of the big things is a hard salary cap.
Yeah.
If that happens, a lot of teams
in the league are going to have a lot of problems,
including the Miami.
So to me,
to me, if you take the hard cap out of it,
there are two places for Dwight Howard
and they're on either coast.
Yep, New York or LA.
LA Miami.
Miami.
Because I'll take him over,
over Bosch seven days a week.
I don't know.
I think that's what screwed up Miami.
In my opinion, I think there was too many guys
want to be the guy that fan did not interfere with that ball.
But the, um, sorry guy,
but, um,
I just think there were too many basket balls.
But LeBron's going to be fine.
The heat's going to be fine.
Let's flip the coin.
I'm going to tell you what.
If you call Dirk Novitsky soft,
if you call Jason Terry soft,
if you call this team soft,
I thought this was the toughest team.
Number one, Dirk's ever played with Dallas ever rolled out.
And I'll be honest with you,
they beat Miami up and they won the title.
It wasn't the refs.
Yeah, it wasn't.
They won the title fair square.
Miami losing the title.
Dallas wanted it was Dallas winning the title.
And let me tell you something.
You know why?
Let's roll reverse it.
If LeBron wins this title,
it doesn't mean as much as Dirk.
Dirk has been associated with he will be a Dallas Maverick for life.
He is a associated with his franchise.
He was a free agent last year too.
He got lost to Shuffle.
We talked about on this show how it was breaking.
Yes.
That he was, that they went to Germany to his front door.
Yes, look,
Dirk Novitsky was also a free agent along with Bosch,
Wade LeBron.
A lot of people forget that.
Forget that.
But I think and I agree with Brandon,
the acquisition of Tyson Chandler
for the Dallas Mavericks to me was huge.
It put that presence in the middle.
That we've been talking about for years.
But it's also been my criticism of Dirk Novitsky
as hot as he was in the playoffs.
And I will take nothing away from Dirk.
I think he's a phenomenal player.
I'm not putting him top 10 of all time.
Like some people.
Oh no, he's top 25, not top 10.
You look at him.
The picture we see right now on our screen.
Kid, Terry, and Dirk.
Dirk is a head and a half taller than these guys.
Why are you taking it?
And I said the same thing about Chris Bosch.
Why are you on the perimeter?
That's his game.
You touch that ball.
You're in the paint.
And that's always been my criticism.
That's Dirk to me, but that's Dirk's game.
I just think that's Dirk's game.
He's got a hell of a shot.
You can't debate that.
Dirk's got a hell of a shot.
I'm not saying he's Mr. Clutch.
I don't want to go that far with it.
But Dirk had a couple of clutch performances,
but I will not call him.
But yeah, Dallas flat out won this title.
But it was pretty cool for guys like Jason Kid
talked about the journey.
Jason Kid, 18 years old.
18 years old, you lost two tiles in a row.
Once to San Antonio, once to the Lakers
when he played for the New Jersey Nets.
And I'm going to say this.
Kid retires.
Yeah, I think so.
I think there's nothing really more to me
that Jason Kid has to do
to prove himself the great.
I think he's a hollow famer right now.
Oh, absolutely.
I said that to shout on the phone the other night.
They threw out a stat in Game 6 the other night.
And I don't see if anybody caught it.
And if like I always say on this show,
if you don't believe me, look it up.
Jason Kid has started all time in threes
to Ray Allen and Reggie Miller.
Then Jason Kid, if you look up the all time
three pointers, made list.
Jay Kits three on that list.
Jason Terry, you know what I think motivated him
when Durknav Bitsky, we said on this show
when Durknav Bitsky finally grew a pair
and called Jason Terry out.
He went two games, scoring zero points in the fourth quarter.
People bagged on LeBron.
Yeah, Jay Terry were unexistent
in two games in the fourth quarter as well.
And what I thought was weird is
everybody talked about in that next game
about the heat letting sleeping dogs lie.
It wasn't the heat that was talking trash
about Jason Terry.
It was Durknav Bitsky motivating him.
Yeah, I think it was a little bit of both.
I also think a guy that's not going to get
a lot of pub here.
I think to Sean Stevenson was a huge pickup for Dallas.
At first, I know he's talked a lot of noise.
Him and LeBron put a gag on him.
Yeah, well him and LeBron go back ways.
Oh yeah, back when he the back when Stevenson played
for the wisdom.
So that was a little bit of a deal where
just Stevenson and LeBron have a history
and it was and I heard him local today.
Stevenson said, I talk to LeBron two hours after the game
and he goes, hey man, that's just that's basketball.
So there is a report.
Now him walking off of playing with a shirt
said, how's my dirt taste?
I was actually going to ask you about that.
I saw that today.
Yeah, I mean, let's Dallas.
Hey, celebrate party.
You know, no, no, 10 arrests the other night.
I think the city of Dallas
acted very professionally when in a title
for something that I'll be honest.
Didn't think everyone's going to happen
and hey, enjoy it because let me tell you something.
I know a lot of people that are talking repeat
enjoy this one.
Yeah, and see, that's my thing.
It took you 31 years to get this one.
Chad and I spoke about this the other night on the phone
and you and I have spoken about this at length.
I'm going to say this right now and I'm not the only one saying this.
There are many, many people out there right now
that have this opinion as well.
Before we get to that real quick,
in case you didn't know, you may want a TV
Timo Letterman tonight.
The Mavericks will be doing the top 10 West.
And also Josh Hamilton live on David Letterman.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, we did a letter in appearance.
Okay.
Next year may not be a season to begin with.
It could be the Tampa Bay Lightning situation.
It could be automatic repeat.
Oklahoma City owns that Western conference.
I think I think I want to see what they do with Westbrook.
I think you either have to sit him down
and go look bro.
Our game runs through Durant.
Or you're gone.
I think Oklahoma City be a good place for Chris Paul.
I've said that on the show.
I think the future of the Western conference
is the Oklahoma City Thunder.
I said that when Jess was on the show.
The Lakers will be in rebuild.
This isn't something I just...
This spurs will be in rebuild.
I think Dallas can stay status quenleague.
I still think Durk right now is a top five active player in the league.
Active player.
That can't debate me.
Can't debate me.
I think Tyson Chandler's on an old guy.
Terry, you got a young enough some guys.
Well, let's talk about who now,
officially now, are free agents on the Dallas Mavericks.
J.J. Burrea, Tyson Chandler,
D'Shaun Stevenson,
and...
Karan Butler.
All free agents.
What's bad right now?
That was bad.
We never got to see what I thought.
That's right.
Westbrook plus picks for CP3.
Absolutely.
That's a guy.
That's a guy in Oklahoma in the room saying that.
That's not.
That'll be brutal.
But I, you Chandler resigns.
He probably just upped that prize a little bit.
And so did J.J. Burrea.
J.J. Burrea had an amazing playoff.
J.J. Burrea, you've got to make him a starter.
Because that seems to me like he has to start to get in the flow of the basketball.
No, he reminds me of from a playstyle and a size standpoint.
He's this generation Stevenson.
Oh, yeah.
He is a quick and he's and he can...
But if you, I think if you come off the bench,
I don't think he gets in the flow of the game that easily.
Karan Butler, man, we just never saw what Karan was supposed to be on the team.
They had the best record in the league.
He goes out, the dirt goes out, everything got kind of weird.
I'd like to risk...
I'd like to do a sign injury.
If we could love to sign him and maybe try to get another young forward.
You know, I don't know.
I'm just saying they'd better open their checkbook with J.J. Burrea.
J.J. Burrea.
Did a lot more than anybody in this town.
Especially expected.
I don't think Cuban.
I don't think Cuban's going to do what we would think he would do.
I think Cuban's got the money and I think Cuban re-signs all those guys.
He'd be a fool not to.
Cuban who also doesn't want to do rings for the team.
I've heard bells.
I've heard bracelets.
I've also heard that the team has voted and they all want rings.
Why would you want a ring?
It's a walking trophy.
Yeah.
Get a ring.
Cuban.
I know you're all that.
I don't like bracelets to begin with.
Cuban.
I think that Cuban wants to be on the edge, innovative.
I'm doing all this new stuff.
Cuban.
Get the guys rings.
Man, Quint trying to change the game.
A lot of celebrations.
Like I said, tasteful except one.
Except one.
Real quick man.
Open letter.
City of Cleveland.
Let's focus on the Indians and the Browns.
When I heard the City of Cleveland had a victory parade for the Mavericks.
I was speechless.
What do you say to that?
Cleveland.
Get over it.
LeBron's gone.
He's not coming back.
And remember, y'all have three picks in the top five.
Y'all have three picks in the top five of the draft.
He gave you eight years.
You couldn't get the people around him to win a title deal with it.
Deal with it.
Deal with it.
I know it's sorry.
Cleveland's a great sports town.
I'm not talking to you.
Yeah, I'm not saying anything.
Cleveland's a great sports town.
The Browns are a great historic franchise.
One of them all, but they're great.
The Indians got to go see those boys.
Great baseball team.
You need to get out there and support the Indians if you're listening.
Great park too.
Yeah, great park.
Jacob's field now known as a progressive.
But yeah, Cleveland a great sports town.
Cleveland, honestly, LeBron's the guy that he's got an ego.
If sports sports town, you don't need him.
Move on.
Watch your teams.
Do your deal.
Quit hanging on to this hate LeBron deal.
And also the governor of Ohio says, we're now
deeming all the Mavericks native Ohio.
Yeah, I saw that this morning.
Yeah, and quit, quit playing.
Paying college football players too, Ohio.
Yeah.
OK, well Ohio is a weird place.
And on a certain level, I think if you're a Maverick fan,
this kind of gets on your nerves too.
Let us celebrate our championship.
Leave your name off of ours.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Whoo.
So once again, Dallas, congratulations.
And I got to see two things I never thought I'd see in my life.
I saw the Rangers in the World Series.
And I saw the Mavericks win a title.
And you may not see the Cowboys at all.
And that's the way basketball goes.
And we will see what happens with this NBA locker.
I don't think this gets nearly as complicated
as the NFL situation.
But we have not heard word one about our situation.
I have heard they are further away than the NFL.
Really?
Yes.
I have heard that.
But basketball, say la vie.
We'll see.
Nope.
We'll tie.
Bigch will keep you on free agency, trade, signs, whatever.
But basketball, you'll be more on the spotlight.
Come October.
So there's a lockout in which case they feel a little bit longer.
Put you back in the hopper for a couple months.
You are listening to the clubhouse with Robin Cody right here on Ustream.
If I was a smoker, we might have to take a break, right?
Yeah.
Told you.
He did like all the support in the chat room.
Of course, Brandon thinks Stevenson may be gone.
Barreja gets paid.
Of course, we said our good buddy at Land Thieves, Westbrook,
plus picks for Chris Paul.
I think that's a good deal.
And another Brandon, I'm a shoe fanatic.
Chris Paul's new shoe is black and red.
Does that equal Chicago?
One basketball.
It's so early.
Yeah.
I just don't know.
Is there room for, I was saying, like you said,
there's room for him in Chicago.
One basketball.
Well, we're definitely moderating this situation.
I got my mouth guard in.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
Why does he need to take a break?
Yeah.
A breath.
A break, a breath.
I just combine two words and make a word that doesn't exist.
You are listening to the clubhouse of the Robin Cody.
We have some of the most educated listeners on the planet.
And that keeps us in our toes, which we think is also great.
Oh, just in this turn it, too.
Let us talk a little MMA news.
Absolutely.
Make sure you visit our website, www.theclubhouse of the Robin
Cody.
God, come.
You can get the Cody's blog.
You can get to my blog.
You can get to our Merchandise store.
You can see on that front page where our appearances
are going to be next, Fox and the Hound appearance,
this coming Sunday.
I am looking forward to some of that great Fox and the Hound
food.
So great.
We're also going to get the soft pretzels
and a sampler platter that kill a mule.
Yeah, huge.
I ain't a lot to do.
We're looking forward to see our show
will be on the air at 6 o'clock on Sunday.
So make sure you get there early.
It's a $3 cover, a 10 of what you'll pay for it at the house.
And you can take that extra $27 or $37
wherever it would normally cost you and get some great food.
Speaking of things that go on at Fox and Hound,
they had a little event there on Saturday night.
I was not at this.
This is the first one I've missed in two or three months.
So I got to take one off.
We're going to talk a little in the mail.
UFC 131 was this past Saturday night.
Not to watch it with some buddies at my good buddy,
Kenny's house.
Thank you, Kenny, for hosting that for us.
Junior dos Santos, Shane Carlin, very slow fight
with the distance.
The first time either one of them had done so.
And I think only the second time that Carlin's ever
been out of the first round at most.
You know, I saw this.
I don't happen to be the place that some friends
had actually about that.
Yeah, some good.
I'll tell you one.
I talked to Ron about this Monday.
I think if that's you take out Shane Carlin,
you put in Lesnar.
I think your results are the same.
I don't know.
I don't think it goes all three rounds.
That junior dos Santos, man, he is a bad dude, man.
He's not the best performance of the night.
So there were a couple of knockouts on the preliminaries
that we had to rewind two or three times.
Yeah.
UFC 31.
I thought the, a lot of people argued this.
I thought the undercard for UFC 131 was weak at best.
I think it was one of the better pay-per-views.
You like put on all year.
I just, I just didn't ever get into some of the lower card
fights.
I don't know why.
Well, you're still fairly new to the sport.
Maybe you're learning more and more and more.
Maybe that was it.
Berlander just gave up a hit in the eight.
So there's that.
I just think that it was one of their better pay-per-views
of the year.
But we're doing it all again, you know?
This Saturday night in this town,
American Airlines Center hosting strike force.
This Saturday night.
Strike force, Dallas live in American Airlines Center.
Great.
I think if the great opportunity, if you can go,
I don't think I will be able to do the fact of prior
engagements, but I have church.
I will be able to do that.
Strike force to me, that looks like that could be a great,
great event there in Dallas.
Great arena, if you haven't been there,
definitely check out AAC.
Also, I got a question for you and a fan in the room.
Please jump in this conversation anytime you want to.
The amount of MMA pay-per-views we're starting to have
once a month, now it's twice a month.
But it's not now.
I mean, this is their MO, especially if you look at UFC
specifically, during football season, basically.
If you get through a month that don't have two pay-per-views
by then, there's something wrong.
I just, I don't know, man.
Are we wandering down the sport?
You'll see that.
OK, down.
News in the chatroom, Josh Burnett was given the green light
to fight Saturday night for Strike Force in Dallas,
was reinstated for a year, was reinstated after a year
of past drugs, obviously.
Part of each tournament, I believe, is Saturday.
Yes.
And Strike Force.
David just showed up.
David, good to see you, brother.
Yeah, so definitely check those out.
Strike Force, of course, the great Herschel Walker
is a Strike Force guy.
But also part of the Zipha Empire that runs UFC, too.
Are we going to get to the point where some of these UFC
pay-per-views, because they come out in such rent
and this, are they going to lose the luster, some of them
might have?
It'll stop with the buy-ring drops.
But you've got so many establishments that carry these things
and consistently put a full house in.
Also a quick shout out to everybody that went down
to the battle in the panhandle.
Absolutely.
Got them on that, yes sir?
The octagon gym in Plano, Texas, then I have now
a proud owner of a T-shirt from, thanks Ron.
Oh, very nice.
Eight and one in Amarillo, so let's see.
Oh, same.
The Dallas fighters dominating round one of the battle,
the panhandle, one of the throw that out for those guys.
A news that came out that I tweeted Wednesday, UFC TV,
maybe on the horizon, as rumors have emerged
that Dana White trying to buy the Comcast Channel known as G4,
if you're a nerd, if you're a gamer,
you know what that is.
What do you feel about that?
They're saying classic matches, classic cards.
I am torn.
And I'll tell you, because I enjoy G4.
I really do enjoy G4's work.
It's really the only geek television that's out there.
Only really a really good gamer.
I think that you're going to have a, but you said something
to me that this was the lowest rated cable channel
on the tower.
You can't even get that station if you have direct TV right now.
It's not a very good, good buy rate at all on that.
It makes sense.
It seems like Dana's just everywhere.
And he's trying to get this thing on so many different,
different levels.
And I will compare him to Vince McMahon.
If we've said on this show, WWE Tinkern
with the idea of a 24-7 network as well,
is it the youth of why Dana's jumping
seems to be beating Vince to the punch everywhere he turns?
Isn't that UFC?
Did it first or they're doing it better?
The thing about Dana White, in my opinion, is Dana is more,
is a pretty good visionary guy.
Absolutely.
Vince has relied on other people to be his visionaries
for so long.
I don't think Vince remembers what it's like.
He's so far out of the forest, he can't even see any trees.
Where Dana White is a very hands-on owner.
He's knee deep in the ultimate fighter every week.
He's at every event.
He's visible at every event.
They interview him at every event.
He'll have a press conference at a drop of a dime on you.
He's currently on his way to Rio right now for a press conference,
as I saw on Twitter earlier.
There's something, we talk about the WWE Network.
There are people within Vince's organizations
who are trying to tell him the same thing.
Just buy a network that's out there and Vince doesn't want to do it.
I think Vince is trying to give him a network.
And I'm just saying it's going to happen.
Now, I think he's universal to bankroll him a network
and I don't think it's going to happen.
Although he's got enough in the vault to do it,
UFC at this point does have enough in the vault
that they can run 24 and not turn into one of these networks
that's running the same thing four and five times a day.
Travel Channel, I'm talking to you.
I think it's going to do well.
And it could happen as soon as January 1.
Yeah, history's getting bad about that too.
Oh boy, yes.
But that's the MMA talk for this week.
Only one more bullet point.
Oh, we got one more.
That came down over the weekend.
Every fight that's currently contracted to be three rounds will still be.
Once those contracts run out, every UFC regardless,
if it is a title fight or not, will be five rounds.
I'm on board with this.
Oh, absolutely.
I'm on board because I said on this show a few months back.
I think the draws are fighting to a tie.
I think that could eventually kill that sport.
IE professional boxing.
Yeah, to me, the unanimous decision, the split decision,
the decision kills to me contact sports because people want to see a winner.
They want to see a loser.
They want to see knockouts.
They want to see a winner with his arm raised.
You won.
In this country, we want to see people win.
And I think that could eventually hurt that product.
In my opinion.
So that's MMA talk.
Let's go to the movies.
Let's do a little movie talk, shall we?
You are listening to the clubhouse's Robin Cody.
We are live on Ustream, each and every Tuesday night, eight on the East Coast,
five on the West Coast.
And if you can't be with us on Sunday at Fox and Hound,
be right here on Ustream at seven o'clock on the East Coast,
four o'clock on the West Coast.
We will be broadcasting our pre-show live right here on Ustream.
Make sure you're here.
Join us.
Make sure you're following us on Facebook as well at the clubhouse podcast.
Just look for our logo.
You know it by now.
Ron says he thinks the ultimate fighter was the worst thing for UFC.
I don't know.
I kind of like it now.
It kind of helps you get to know some of these guys a little bit better
than just in the Oshikon.
Now, movie talk.
The Loan Ranger.
With Army Hammer and Johnny Depp has a release date.
So if you're ready for this thing, it will release December 21, 2012
right around the time the world's supposed to end because the Mayans are on the clock.
So be prepared for that.
If you missed the announcement over the weekend, Mark Wahlberg has confirmed
there will be a sequel to the fighter.
If you know about this movie is about the life of Irish Mickey Ward.
Cody kind of rolled his eyes.
Hold on because you don't know what they're doing with it.
I honestly, I am incredibly excited about this and I'll tell you why.
The sequel, the fighter two, is going to deal with three of the greatest fights
in the history of boxing, being Mickey Ward, Arturo Gatti.
I'm very excited.
I haven't seen the first one yet.
I plan on it.
It comes out on DVD next week.
I will be checking it out because I am very excited.
These are three.
If you've never seen these fights, look them up.
Three of the greatest fights you will ever see in your life, Arturo Gatti, Irish Mickey
Ward, cannot wait.
Got any thoughts on this?
Need to see a production.
I'm going to leave judgment.
I don't want to water that thing down a little bit.
But we'll see.
I hope Mark's not strapping his horse to that card that it might work, it might not work.
Well, his answer rush money is about to run out.
So, Shia LaBuff and Michael Bay have both said they are done after this Transformers film.
Kill it.
I think it makes sense.
He may originally wanted it to be a three-picture thing.
I think it'll be fine.
I think the new one's going to make a ton of money when it comes off.
Boy, it's got to be better than that sequel.
See, I didn't accept for the ending being too long.
I had no problem with the second one.
David asked if Christian Bale will be coming back for the Fighter II.
That has not been confirmed.
Mark just made the announcement over the weekend that would happen.
What do you think it's next bullet point?
We talked about this before this coming.
If you knew about right before the hangover 2 came out, the guy that designed Mike Tyson's face tattoo tried to have it blocked.
Because he said it was infringing on his trademark design.
A judge told him to go pound sand.
Now Warner Brothers is saying they are probably not for sure yet, but more than likely going to be digitally removing Ed Helms face tattoo when the hangover part 2 comes out on Blu-ray and DVD.
I think this is stupid.
Just deal with it.
David says Michael Bay needs to do bad boys 3.
It's in the works.
It's in the works.
Yeah, it's what.
They're waiting on the script to be finished.
We both did something that I was doing reviews from here across the table.
That's kind of not regular for me.
But I went out to the local cineplex.
Not local.
I would have been out there.
Local for some.
And I took it out today.
I took an abusing of X-Men first class and then Rob did the same thing on Sunday.
I'm not good at my reviews.
Not going to be something really big and drawn out.
But I think, to me, first thing I noticed scene 1, it had a slick Disney look to it.
To me, I thought it was a very well shot movie.
To me, I thought I bought the yellow and black costumes.
I thought that was the original run if you remember the yellow and black.
The yellow and black was new mutants.
That was pretty cool.
The only thing that I had wrong with the film was I thought it took too long for the beast to make an appearance.
In my opinion.
As beast.
As beast.
You saw Hank fairly early on.
Other than that, I thought the cat with the Magneto character in this film to me is phenomenal.
The way it's played, the actor that plays him.
And I also thought it was cool to see Kevin Bacon.
And these are type of movies he does very often.
But it was good to see Kevin Bacon in a role.
I don't want to get too much into this and spoil it for people that hadn't seen.
But I thought it was a great film.
Like I said, I'm not a guy who I'm not a fanboy.
I'm not going to judge films by their comics.
But this has to be done this way or it sucks.
I thought it was a very enjoyable film.
For me, and let me say a couple of things.
A lot of people have asked me about why Fox still has this property.
Now that Disney has bought Marvel.
Disney said the day they bought Marvel.
Anybody that currently owns a property being X-Men, being Spider-Man, being fantastic for.
Those studios will still own those properties until that time it's up and then Disney will absorb it.
That being said, Brian Singer helped write the script.
The guy that directed the first two X-Men films also produced it.
For those of you that are like me and are comic book geeks.
I will tell you.
Take your geek hat off before you go see this movie.
Because this movie to me is what DC used to do a thing called Elseworld.
Where they would take their heroes and put them in different eras of time.
At one point they did Batman during England in the mid-18th century.
It was hunting Jack the Ripper kind of a thing.
This to me is what X-Men first class was.
It's a standalone.
It's completely out of continuity.
So do not expect.
If you're going in, you're going to pick a part continuity.
Don't even walk in the theater.
It's a good movie.
The story was told very well.
In that cold war, a great time.
I love that time.
I like the fact that the Hellfire Club, which is one of my favorite villain groups, gets to be in a movie.
As Kevin Bacon does play the white king.
January Jones of course playing Emma Frost as the white queen.
As we all know later on, she would become part of the X-Men.
I thought the story was told very well.
There was a couple of really, really good homages that I'm not going to ruin for anybody.
So scale it real quick.
Go scale it.
One to ten you talk.
I would give it an eight.
I was the best movie I've ever seen.
I was not a fan of the original X-Men.
The original movie.
Their first release.
I like this.
I wouldn't impress with X-Men 1.
Now 2 and 3 was okay.
But I didn't care for Wolverine stand alone film.
Here's my thing about X-Men Origins Wolverine.
Take Deadpool out of it.
And it's not a bad little flat.
Deadpool and what they did with Deadpool ruined that film for me.
Absolutely ruined it.
Huh.
New releases.
Hey, this Friday we've been ready.
We've been waiting for this film.
It's just about time.
You're absolutely right, sir.
I've got a monitor down here for some reason.
Green Lantern.
We'll see.
I still, I'm going to Ryan Reynolds.
I'm going to reserve a little judgment on this film.
Just to me, it looks very hard to pull off.
So visually looks stunning.
Blake Lively also in this.
Mark Strong plays Sinestro.
A lot of people have asked.
Wait, wait, wait, isn't he a bad guy?
Not at first. He was actually part of the core.
So be ready for that.
I'm looking forward to this film.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to try to take it in this weekend.
If I can.
This next one you in on.
Next up.
I can't, I can't predict complete this.
It was like Jim carry all of a sudden lost his mind.
In some of these films.
I mean, after the Grinch, it's all downhill for him.
To me, once he hit the Grinch in my opinion.
All downhill.
So.
Those are your two big releases this weekend.
I'm not exactly sure what's going on with my monitor.
I can't get my main monitor back up.
I'm not sure what's going on with my monitor.
My main monitor back up.
DVD and Blu-ray new releases this week.
A movie that I saw opening day.
There we go. I'm back on fire now.
That'll wash Angeles.
Do you have anything on this?
No.
Really?
Is it because your aliens now?
Is that what it is?
I was alien now because everything so far this movie season.
Alien alien alien alien.
I will tell you if you're at the video store.
They still even call that anymore.
You're at the red box or the blue box depending.
Jess, I did see those earlier this week.
Yes, sir.
David Badteacher is on the 24th.
That'll be next week.
Good flick.
If you're at your video store and it's on the shelf.
Do yourself. Just rent it.
It's a good movie.
Very documentary style.
Also this week the Amanda Saferead.
Red writing hood.
Done by the guy, the person that directed the first Twilight film.
So if you need something for your kids to watch.
Are we going to sleep over?
There you go.
Also, hall pass.
You know what? I'm going to rent this.
Jason Tudekis, Owen Wilson.
Guys, wife, gives them what's called a hall pass for the weekend.
They can go do whatever they want.
I'm going to check this out.
This movie looks funny to me.
It looks funny. I could, I could Netflix that or figure something out.
Absolutely.
This next one not so much.
As big mama, like father, like son.
It's your local blockbuster.
There were so many unanswered questions from big mama one.
And two.
We had to turn this into a franchise.
This is the third one.
Yeah, the big mama franchise.
And apparently are we handing it off now that we're doing like father, like son?
I see rubbers made its way to the TV.
Well, I mean, it was one of those.
It was going to get eliminated released anyway.
It's still got a better release than the Shaperone or uh...
I'll go to the papers if I have to.
That's who I am.
Or knucklehead.
But it's basically about a psycho tire.
I can't just go look up the trailer.
I really can't.
I can't describe it any better.
Just go look for the trailer.
Also this week for Chad and Sharla.
Jack, I have 3.5.
Never. I have not watched that show on the network.
It's carried on. None of the movies.
I just, I don't know, man.
That's just, that's kind of stuff to me.
It's just not very funny.
To kind of give you a quick call.
I just saw something on Twitter that made me laugh.
Yes, for tweeting about the shows.
Oh, yeah. Well, you know, they did take a guy out of there the other night for uh...
for spoilers or doing something else or a spoiler or so.
You record your show two weeks in a time.
It's going to get out there anyway.
Deal with it or up your game.
But that's going to do it for Movie Talk this week.
You are with me to the clubhouse of the Robin Cody Live.
Each and every Tuesday night right here on U-Street.
We appreciate you being here.
Getting ready for some more big headlines.
We are your one-stop shop for all things.
Wrestling, pop culture, and, uh...
Sports.
I guess I was out of order on that.
Oh.
On campus, baby.
It's time for us to go on campus.
Boy, 81 days away.
Brother, 81 days away.
You feel it?
Tattle Run 11 starts 81 days.
81 days 81 days.
Tattle Run 11 starts 81 days.
Real quick.
Something down the run sheet.
Something that kind of bothered me.
Evan Bohem if I'm saying that correctly.
Forstar.
You know, Forstar Office of Guard.
Today commits to Missouri choosing over OU and Auburn.
It's June, I think.
I don't know if this is a full-hearted commitment.
That was headline on ESPN.
If you do watch the uh...
If you're in the recruiting.
I know a lot of people in this country are.
Rob does not really partake in it very well.
Watch.
Um...
It's June, February and signing day.
Also in other news announced Michigan and Notre Dame will wear throwbacks.
Very excited about this.
When they play each other, Michigan bringing back the...
The Jersey with the M on the front of it.
Really?
In Notre Dame with a four leaf clover on the helmet.
Notre Dame with a helmet logo.
And we'll make a debut.
Um...
I got a question.
I'm just going to post.
And that's week two, isn't it?
Yes.
I'm going to post this to the room.
Has that rivalry kind of lost a little luster?
Absolutely.
It'll still be on national TV because NBC will carry in.
Notre Dame, Michigan right.
Notre Dame, Michigan right now in their present states.
This doesn't do a whole lot for me.
Except for the fact it's college football.
It's true.
It could be Arizona State Syracuse.
And that's probably still watching.
To me, that to me, that's just not something that makes my wheels go on this.
Also, how state?
Introduced a new football coach and said,
You know, Luke Fickle said,
I never knew there was any infractions in Ohio State.
I'd never talked to a real prior.
Yeah.
You saw prior today, didn't you?
Yeah, he apologized everybody.
And then goes a supplemental draft.
And he apologizes to Ohio State.
He apologizes to Tresil.
But if knowledge is no specific instances.
Yes.
You know what, Tarell Pryor.
I don't know.
I think he'd make a heck of a kick or a punt returner or a wide receiver.
QB to me is not in his future.
To me, it's just not in his future.
Given who his agent now is.
We'll talk about that in NFL talk.
But to me, it's just nothing.
I saw that pit and pin state coming back in 2015.
I'm bored with that.
Also, announcement for this show.
Really, starting next week.
Is this the big announcement?
The big announcement.
Oh, do we need to break the sounder for that?
No, no, no.
Big announced on this show.
If you listened all year last year.
Which we appreciate that if you did.
Yes, absolutely.
We forgive you.
Yeah.
So we will begin the return.
Building it up.
It's burning her down.
The college football cliffhanger returns out next Wednesday.
Next Tuesday.
On the 50th episode.
We will bring back the college football cliffhanger.
One team that I think is going up.
One team I think is going down.
I didn't get a lot of teams in last year.
That's why we're starting in a few weeks earlier.
To get more teams in where we can.
Okay.
I will tweet those teams day of show.
Okay.
That's how we're going to do it.
All right.
Restart a lot of teams.
I'm on board with that.
Yes, so next week the college football cliffhanger does return.
To the clubhouse with Robin Cody.
Rich Rodriguez.
Rich Rodriguez got a new job.
He is now in studio guest on CBS.
How?
CBS or CBS college?
CBS college.
Because as he had that job for a while now though.
It was just announced on Monday.
Maybe they just reupped his deal or something.
And that's also the home of Mike Leach does some in the booth.
There's the drunkfit scale.
Awesome.
Awesome.
In the West Virginia story, the West Virginia saga, as you would call it,
between Dana Holgerson and Bill Stewart, has finally come to an end with Friday afternoon,
the firing or resignation of Bill Stewart.
And the hands of the job over the head coach and waiting.
Dana Holgerson, you had heard Rich Rod had been rumored to take back that job.
I never heard that.
You said you did.
The rumors are out there.
But Dana Holgerson, new head coach at West Virginia University.
The guy is a Mike Leach starter kit.
If you watched Oklahoma State football last year.
The running gun type things.
That's what you're going to see in West Virginia right now.
Now, your one's going to be a disaster because they don't have the talent
to run that type of an offense yet.
So give the guy a year.
We'll see.
Always going to go looking year one.
Always, always, always.
College World Series.
Congratulations.
Two.
Yep.
Congratulations, Texas A&M.
Really?
As they eliminate Florida State last night.
I know there's some listeners in the room that do that are one at least.
That's a Florida State fan.
Great game.
If you saw any of this was just insane.
They get both.
They win.
They win.
Friday.
Blown out.
Wind Saturday.
Blown out Sunday.
Wind Monday.
It's kind of the way that this thing went.
Double elimination.
Yeah.
Of course, Texas in.
As Texas eliminates Arizona State in Austin.
They did host that super regional there.
A&M starts off against defending champion South Carolina as they are back in.
Now we're talking baseball, right?
Talking college baseball.
There's another team in.
Another team that's in.
Going to Omaha.
Probably us.
We have to be Florida.
Yes sir.
Florida Gators in.
Forts in like the SEC teams.
A lot of staples in these things.
Which is good.
I think it's good for the sport.
I like, I'm.
Never hate on the Gators.
We.
Me and Rob get along very well.
Yeah.
We don't.
We have.
We have a truce when it comes to our team.
Yeah.
We don't get to.
Of course, the Cal Bears.
If they eliminated Dallas Baptist University.
They're locally.
I thought those guys over there had a great season.
Dallas Baptist.
Cal does eliminate those guys.
Let's take a look.
I'm going to run the bracket for you real quick.
We've got to paint if you follow.
Here's how this thing will go.
Number one team in the country.
Virginia.
We'll open up against UC Irvine.
Excuse me.
Virginia will open up against Cal.
Okay.
Cal.
Cal limiting.
Dallas Baptist.
Virginia.
Eliminating UC Irvine.
Virginia and one team in the country.
Texas A&M.
Like I said, opening up against defending national champion South Carolina.
Florida and Texas.
Here we go.
Last time there was a big faceoff between those two teams.
Texas swept us in the finals.
Yeah.
UT and Texas.
They're getting set to go.
Similar records.
Florida was 50 and 17 on the year.
Texas 49 and 17 on the year.
Wow.
And then it ends up.
The last bracket.
Vanderbilt versus North Carolina.
Is your final two teams that are in Omaha.
So they call it World Series.
They just do some major.
No, they just moved into a new stadium.
That's what I'm saying.
It is an upgrade.
Yeah.
So this is the first college World Series in the new.
New ball yard there in Omaha.
You will be able to watch most of that on the four letter network if I am not mistaken.
They are big players in that college World Series.
Congratulations to the Arizona State Lady Sun Devils.
They are your national champion of women's softball.
Hasn't that state dominated college.
And UCLA.
UCLA.
Arizona and Arizona State.
Oh, you had some good years there.
Texas had some good years there.
But yeah, predominantly that thing seems to kind of live out there in the Western states.
But congratulations to the Lady Sun Devils.
One of the mentioned those ladies here tonight because I couldn't hit you.
And I probably couldn't catch them all.
You hit to me.
Update from the Bronx.
It is 9-4.
9-4.
So yeah, Texas hanging in there.
9-4.
Baseball talk.
I've got some.
We're going to talk a little rangers and maybe they might be getting a new division foe.
Down the line here.
Is that going to do it for on campus?
That's it.
But remember, next week, the college football club.
We're going to get this thing going a little bit earlier than we did last year.
So we're going to try to.
Well, we wouldn't have hit a year yet.
Yeah, wouldn't have hit a year yet.
But we're going to do two teams at night.
Any time in the next four weeks is going to be earlier than last year.
Two teams a night.
And I will tweet them teams day up.
So please follow me on Twitter, Cody, PS Hawk.
To see if your team is the team that night on college football club fair.
And I am.
Yes, that robber of an E-R-V-I-N on Twitter.
Big things happening.
Big things popping little things dropping.
Exactly.
Someday, I'm going to get that right.
And answer your question.
The PAC-10 has 23 women softball national champion.
Dominating.
Dominating.
Dominating.
So the PAC-10 does dominate that sport.
Matt, we're going to get to that when we get to baseball talk.
Because that is a big deal.
We forgot to mention that in NBA talk.
Let's go ahead and do it.
Dallas fans.
Victory parade will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
lineup is going to start at 7 a.m.
They'll be there's probably people there now.
Well, I'll tell you this.
I can remember a lot of people in the room can remember.
92 cowboy parade.
400,000 people crammed downtown Dallas.
For the 92 cowboy parade.
Let's talk Monday night.
Rock.
Rock.
Rock.
Rock.
Rock.
Little breaking headline that you gave to me on the way over the house today.
Go ahead and break that.
WWE.
Kill this.
Brought it back.
Thank God they brought it back.
Because to me this was my fifth major.
WWE bringing back night of champions.
Very excited about that.
September the 18th from Buffalo, New York.
So we're actually going to have champions in Buffalo for a change.
But you know.
Oh.
Yeah, nine of champions.
This was one when I saw that they killed this.
I went really.
I mean, I just.
I thought it was a great pay-per-view.
But we did get confirmed today that died of champions on September 18th.
Live at Fox and down for us and Buffalo, New York for them.
Yep.
J.R. undergoing surgery on an incisional hernia in his abdomen.
He is preparing for it.
He's still sweet.
He has not had the same.
And also for him shut down his online.
Barbecue store for the time being.
Really shut that thing down again.
Maybe they're doing some upgrades on the website.
Because he's doing fairly well with that.
Let's talk about RAW.
Return of the big show.
Boy, he was beating me in hell.
It's some of those shots were landed.
Yeah.
He wore out Ricardo Rodriguez.
Paul got a little dicey there for a minute.
And so that's going to form a match.
Didn't that form a match for Sunday?
Yes.
What did you feel was coming next?
A turn.
Cain turning on friendship.
Yeah.
I thought, OK, who's going to hit Cain or Cain going to hit show?
I just was, here we go.
Yep.
And then we teased the Morrison return.
Which by the way, I called that.
You called that.
And I called that mentally going.
Does he even get down the aisle and step in the ring?
Well, we're right at the right part of that six to eight.
I can write how this ends.
He costs our truth to title it.
I think that's how this thing goes down.
And what sad is you're going to have a great talent,
John Morrison, stuck in the rut,
dutying with our tree.
He's going to go from a world title to that.
Wow.
Little Jimmy.
And then we had to...
Now remember folks, three hour show.
Three hour show.
This was a three hour ride.
We had of two.
We have enough notes to maybe fill the palm of my hand.
We might get through this batter.
And Prasada just got out.
You know, one thing about Prasada.
You can't hit.
You can't catch.
And you can't throw.
And you can't run.
Why's he in that uniform?
Go ahead.
Then you get to the end of this divest match.
And we're in Long Gailin.
They would have thought they were at the garden.
And all of a sudden we're going to do our salute
to Broadway with a badly choreographed kick line.
And it looked like Naddy couldn't get her leg above higher than me.
He needs to go back to yoga.
Yeah.
And we're in Long Island.
Not even a burrow.
Yeah.
Although JR did tweet something about a half an hour ago.
People.
You're not going to affect how quickly Zack Ryder gets on top left.
But I'm telling you something.
This guy has become a force of nature in the WWE.
That YouTube.
That YouTube.
You cannot go.
That YouTube will get you discovered, bro.
He is everywhere.
And I guess we're going to have Zigg-
I guess we saw Ziggler.
I guess we're going to have Ziggler Kofi at the pay for you for the U.S. title.
That has been booked.
And I'm going to-
I'll tell you this.
I'll go.
They put that belt on Ziggler.
It's still the card.
So, hopefully, I liked them both in the ring working.
I hate Kofi on the mic.
So.
And Mike, I pose this question to you.
This was my bullet point here.
Uh-huh.
Why are we bearing the Miz?
As we saw Roddy-Roddy Piper and the Piper's pit return to Monday Night Raw last night.
Why are we trying to bear the Miz?
Gino Garland.
Andre the Giant.
He just does the bottom of the well.
Who are you rescue?
Piper to me.
Piper to me is so over.
It was great to see him.
He looks great.
You know, had the cancer scare.
Got real look bad for a lot of years.
And Piper, the best, doing stand-up comedy now.
So, Piper to me looked great.
It was great to see Roddy Twitter spoiled that for me about seven.
Because somebody tweeted he was backstage.
Oh, really?
Well, I kind of knew he was going to-
He was probably-
Well, it was all star.
Yeah, he was probably going to be involved in some capacity that night.
But why are we bearing the Miz?
Because unless you've got him around the title, there's-
There's nothing else you can do with him.
If he's not around the title, there's nothing else you can do with him.
Yeah.
This guy held that belt from November to last month.
Or months before last.
And now, I don't mind if you with Alex Riley because you've got to have young guys.
I don't mind the Riley fuse.
Miz has to win, Sunday.
I think.
I don't know.
But if Miz wins, are you really going to extend that angle?
I don't think you need to.
I think you let Riley win.
He goes to Smackdown and can do his own thing over there.
But I don't understand why we built the Miz up as maybe a new-
A new up and coming superstar.
And then the minute he drops that belt, bro, we just-
We buried.
We just-
We buried him a job in the Piper.
I didn't understand it.
I didn't understand it.
And not to say another thing too, I thought was-
was great.
The great to me, the ending, love seeing punk beating Cena.
Yeah.
Thank God he's got another win.
Yeah.
I hadn't seen in-
We're-
Well, I don't want to spoil Sunday show at Foxin' Hell.
But I was good to see CM Punk pin somebody that name wasn't named Ray Mysterio.
Or at least in a match without somebody whose name is Ray Mysterio.
Exactly.
I mean, I can okay if you beat it, but just man.
Are we just going to go Ray?
Who do you want to have a match with?
Yeah.
We owe you so much, Ray.
We owe you so much.
Pick who you want to want to job to next.
It's ridiculous.
And then next week, also, you're ready for this another-
Another three-
Our-
So are we-
This-
This is where your raw roulette comes back.
Thanks to they did, this was released that raw roulette would be making a return.
In my prediction, this will be raw roulette.
No, it's your choice.
Dude.
I just-
I don't know, man.
I think they-
It's your choice because all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
And all of the-
Um...
I need to see-
But no chat has a question.
Let Ms. Javan tell a major.
You're-
You're gonna carry Ms. Riley to Summerslam?
I just-
I don't know.
That-
That-
That program didn't have that kind of way.
I watched that and just went, why?
Why are we burying-
Why are we burying Ms. with Javan the Piper?
I better see a title change.
Did you really think that Ms.
Wasn't gonna job the Piper?
I better see a title change.
That raw.
That viewers' choice.
I need to see a belt change dance that night.
Coming off a paper.
You know what?
Perfect.
Put the belt on our truth.
He drops it the next night.
Perfect.
I just wrote it.
I just wrote it.
There it is.
Out in the-
The Rangers going to Atlanta.
That's right this weekend.
So from New York to hot Atlanta,
and then Florida, of course,
Florida's in town when I'm out of town over my birthday.
That's the story of my life.
But that's raw.
Pretty much.
I mean, that's raw.
It's just where this sports at right now, man.
TV news.
A couple of things.
One big headline.
I saw this win.
Is this finally the kill shot for that show?
I think it may be for the franchise.
As Lawrence Fishburn announces,
he will not be returning to CSI Vegas in the fall.
Mark Heldenberger has also said before
that she's only going to be working limited basis next year.
No offense to George Eads or Georgia Fox.
Y'all can't carry that show, brother.
You know, Miami's gotten to the point of ridiculous.
Yeah.
That show's had a hell of a run, man.
New York's still holding water,
but-
Well, the great Gary Sines.
But I mean, hey,
Vegas has been on 11 season.
Yeah.
Like I said, it's had a run, bro.
It's had a run.
You know, you just some of these shows just eventually,
they hit the wall.
And I think that show was hit the wall.
I just think we're so reality show heavy right now.
A lot of them actually dropped.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Our suffering.
I mean, I've got one law on order left.
One.
Although on that,
we did find out this thing.
ICT has resigned.
Well, still no Christmas loany,
which is going to kill me.
Also, AMC has renewed the killing for season two.
Getting great ratings.
I've heard a lot of good things about this show.
I may have to do one of those.
Watch them all in a weekend.
Kind of a deal.
What do they think is next story?
NBC Affiliate.
In Salt Lake City, Utah,
Ristah using to show.
The new series NBC will be debuting this fall
called the Playboy Club.
Ah.
Have you seen the trailer for this thing?
I have not.
It's horrible.
Yeah.
It's absolutely horrible.
That's playing him.
Ah.
Anybody that knows.
Let me look that up for you.
I just, yeah, I don't, I don't, eh.
I mean, this thing,
it looks terrible.
You know, I just,
that's that in, not just,
I mean, you know,
that's something as a Mormon state.
That could be, you know,
I could understand why they are doing it.
It does shock me at all.
You have a ratio to Vegas.
Oh, good lord.
I mean, there's nobody really
in this show that I would recognize.
I mean, run.
Eddie Sibrian.
Mr.
Landrimes.
Landrimes.
What's he play?
He is Nick Dalton.
Oh, funny.
Might have been Jimmy DeGune.
He heard about that little tape.
Maybe come out.
Oh, Amber.
Amber hurts in it.
Okay, know her.
What little tape?
Or the rumored Landrimes.
Her ex-husband,
uh,
in talking on film.
Really?
So, more of that off.
More on that at 10.
I mean,
news at 11.
And some notes from
the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards
that happened this past weekend.
Kind of hosted by,
uh, Cameron Diaz,
I guess, kind of,
um,
Yeah, let's get into the TV.
Please.
Holy grail of hot
as meal-acunist
defeats Mika Kelly.
And, okay.
The biggest A-kicker,
the rock beats Mark Walberg in.
The most anticipated movie
goes to Cowboys and Aliens.
What's this thing called Cowboys versus Aliens?
Yes.
The trailer for this.
I saw it in an X-Men first class.
Looks pretty cool.
Here's my thing.
I'm with it,
until it's
they got my daughter.
They got my husband.
They got my wife.
Can't we just fight?
Aliens Cowboys fight!
Go!
I don't need motivation!
It was like Aliens versus Predator.
Didn't care about the,
about the humans.
It's Aliens versus Predator's fight.
Troops Choice,
because this is about the Troops.
The Troops took up the
entire front section here.
Oh, that's cool.
The Troops Choice was one
Ben Affleck.
Okay.
And he does a lot of work
with sending care packages to
where he's from.
The only, the only celebrity
that I've ever said to me,
heck of a catch
by Nelson Cruz.
The only guy to me,
and I kind of keep celebrities
on a short leash.
But he's one that I'll,
I'll hear his opinions about
politics.
If you graduate from Harvard,
I'll listen to him.
Him and Matt Damon.
I'll listen to them too.
Funniest M.F.
And that is, they actually
set the word.
Believe it.
Jim Carrey.
Look up that speech.
Very dark.
Who did he, who did he,
who did he meet out?
There was no other mommies.
He's just the funniest one.
Rookie of the Year.
And both members of your,
your ill,
as Blake Griffin
defeats Sam Bradford.
Um.
Okay.
Okay, soon.
And he was there.
Blake was there.
Blake was there.
Sooner on Sooner Cross.
I'm there.
I'm also real quick.
I'm sure I'm sure that,
you know, we, we,
we've found this really cool.
I don't care.
I'd say this where everyone
school.
Tim Tebow got the treatment last
year.
Of course, I, I statue you
built on Florida's campus
of Tim Tebow, unveiled last year
during the race.
His new book.
Yes.
Sam Bradford, getting the,
if you've been the norm in
as Robin, I'll have.
That's we have.
I've been several times.
Heisman Park there.
Sam Bradford will join that party
next year.
Really?
I'm the good friend.
Sam Bradford trophy.
They're enormous.
Uh, the decade of hotness
award.
We covered that on this show
before went to one Jennifer
Aniston, not debating.
Not debating it.
Not debating it.
Looking forward to her new
movie, Horrible Bosses.
Now, I saw her movie without
I'm Sam.
Or that was a bad film.
Just go with it.
Yeah, that's a bad film.
The guy movie hall of fame,
went to Fast Times at
Ridgemont High.
And poor Sean Pan trying to
do that.
Spacoli was horrible.
It was funny.
A good chunk of the castle
weird anyway.
Uh, comedy MVP,
Danny McBride wins
over Daniel Tosh.
Nothing there?
Nothing there.
Most dangerous man
as John Bones Jones,
UFC champion that defeats
a Manny Pacquiao.
I debate that.
Yeah, so do I.
Guy of the year.
Mark Wahlberg meets
Mark Zuckerberg.
Very weird pairing there.
Our new girlfriend.
Huh.
Defeating the Candace
Swoeple Virginia,
our victory secret model.
Who is number one
Maxim Hot 100?
The girl from Transformers.
Rosie Huntington.
What?
Good deal.
We'll see.
Oh, boy.
And the, uh,
man's invention of the year
goes to a Christopher
soon.
He is of Asian descent.
I thought I gathered that.
As he has filmed and has
released a 3D adult film.
Okay.
Called 3D Sex and Zen.
Wow.
Very funny bit during the show
on that.
And the last award,
The Big Brass Balls,
presented by Robert De Niro
to Keith Richards.
Cool.
It was a good little show.
Good point.
A couple of hours.
Do everybody do we really need
this many award shows?
That's my whole thing.
Guy's choice, though.
And you got the troops involved.
Yes.
I can't debate that.
That is going to do it for TV talk.
Let us move on now.
Yes.
I've been waiting for this.
This is a segment I've been waiting on all day long.
As we go to the diamond,
Major League baseball talk here on the clubhouse
with Robin Cody.
Let's start with a story that had
little bit of wheels.
And buddy,
it's like a NASCAR right now.
This story picked up a lot of steam nationally
as a Houston Astros.
Maybe the ones pinned in
to move to the AL.
And what that would do is the AL West.
The National League right now has
two more teams than the American League.
So the talk is move Houston to the American League
even it up.
Uh-huh.
I'm torn on this.
I think it would be great for the Texas Rangers
because it gets them a natural rival in division.
That was my first thought.
That's not a four hour plane ride to the other coast.
I think it's a great works out.
Wonders for the Texas Rangers.
But here's the other side of that coin.
And they talked about this on the four letter network.
You've got to give them two years to adjust.
Yeah.
Because it's the same sport, but it's not the same game.
See, you're a national league to America.
I mean, you differ.
I'm an American League baseball fan.
I like the national league.
Yeah, it doesn't hit her.
I don't mind it.
You are a national league guy.
Lena Brave fan.
I'm a Yankee fan.
Um, two different types of sports.
But I think the Texas Ranger would benefit greatly from this move.
I agree that the Rangers will.
I just what people have to understand is there will be an adjustment.
Oh, absolutely.
We were talking about number of pitchers.
You're talking about getting rid of the DH.
And it's, it's a different field.
I think another thing that I heard this today as well,
Major League Baseball also thinking about limiting the number of times you play your division opponent.
You're the Yankees Red Sox Play 30 times this year.
Yeah, but if you don't, if, if interleague play only happens three times a year,
that's how they'll off.
I believe that's how they'll off balance it is bringing in more interleague games.
Or just abolish it as interleague play.
And you play every, we said this in the show what last week or week before.
You play 162 games.
There's 32 teams in a league.
You can play everybody.
It's okay.
You know, and I, I love realignment talk.
I've always liked it.
But to me, that's not really realignment.
Yes.
You're only moving one team.
Just driver or good friend from Lynn Thieves.com had something up today.
You've moved the Mariners to Oklahoma City.
That would crush the city of Seattle.
Yeah, so Seattle loses the thunder and then they lose the Mariners.
Both to Oklahoma City.
The Mariners have a really nice park up there.
Really nice park.
Yeah.
John, this doesn't really matter where they go.
It's the Astros Dalito.
Yeah.
Houston.
You know, and that's a team.
We talked about Major League Baseball in 2013 talking about contracting teams.
Yeah.
Houston could be a team that's on the bubble there.
Which is sad because.
Good pitch, easy.
How many times do we remember growing up where the Astros are always in the thick of it?
Yep.
And now they're not even the conversation.
Not the conversation.
The great Craig Bigeo comes to mind.
Jeff Bagwell.
Nolan Ryan.
Kim Kim and Eddie Gunn rest his soul.
Move the pirates to New Orleans.
Yeah.
Move the pirates off the map.
I'm not saying that.
I believe that they'll actually change the name of the race to the pirate.
And you know, the pirates in the bucket near the same time.
True.
I think Tampa gets dissolved.
I've said that for a long time.
They just.
That part of Tampa.
Move them to another Tampa.
Move them to another Tampa.
To another Tampa.
Could that team survive in Orlando?
If you made it part of that.
Now Atlanta would have to move their trains.
Train trains.
Train trains.
Train trains.
But could the Tampa AA race move a race, move to Orlando?
It could that team survive?
No.
I just think there were.
There's too much to do in Orlando.
To me, there's never had to be.
There's never had to be.
There's a team that's on the on the snide to me for some reason.
But Houston, Houston, you could may have a problem as far as being an National League.
Rim shot.
Jeater six hits away from 3000.
It's going to have to wait at least a week.
It's going to have to wait at least a week.
Yeah, 50s.
He checks into the 15 day DL today.
So he's officially on the, you could add us aboard 30.
They weren't sure.
They weren't sure there really was had I follow Kim Jones from Yes Network on Twitter,
and she tweeted, dr. Would make decision at game time and write about Showtime.
She did tweet so Gedar is on the 15 day deal.
a lot of people think Shannanigans.
Why, why Shannanigan they want him to break that record at home?
tile E management has been real because they go on is not in rickily.
They go from here.
Here, I believe they go to Riggly,
because Interly cranks back up there at Riggly at Milwaukee.
They go to Cincinnati.
So there are a lot of road games in between his next home game.
So that's what I hear.
I hear that, but Jeter, of course,
I don't believe Jeter would go for it like that.
He's one of the real true, only true baseball players,
in my opinion, that's an everyday guy play through injury.
Rumor is, he wanted to play today, but they put him on the deal.
That's who he is.
So, but six hits away, it's gonna happen.
And I'm still shocked by the stat that says he will be the first Yankee
in a 3,000 hit club.
Ruth, Gary.
Amazing.
I'm just shocked.
Maddenly.
Maddenly.
The guy that batted forever.
But speaking of the Yankees, as we run down,
we will check division's standings real quick.
Perfect timing.
Perfect timing.
Thank you.
This is where we're at.
Getting closely all started.
All started game in Arizona this year, I believe, is that correct?
Yes.
I actually have a buddy that has tickets.
We'll start in the AL East, where Boston has a two-game lead over the Yankees.
The Yankees, to me, they just can't seem to figure Boston out.
They came in on a nine-game winning streak.
They get swept by Boston.
I mean, I just, this team's very strange to me.
So I can play a hundred and sixty-two.
The injuries with New York, if they don't address it, Chamberlain Tommy John out for the year.
They shut down the field hues right after the season started dead arm.
Then you had Soriano in the bullpen.
He was supposed to be your next Rivera.
He's now been listed as might be back after the All-Star break.
Geter on 15-day DL.
It's just a lot of stuff going on up there right now.
But Boston, Boston's where we thought Boston would be.
Can I give you a quick side note?
Yeah.
Something you said earlier.
CVS sports, reporting NBA owners and plans are still hundreds of millions of heart in
labor talks.
Good call on that, sir.
Tampa 3 and a half back.
Toronto.
And to me, Baltimore, for the Baltimore Orals to be just seven and a half games at a first
place, to me, I'll tip my hat to Buck Show Walter, seven and a half out of first.
That AL East, to me, still not high five each running away with that deal.
It's a tough division.
Over in the central Detroit, one game up over Cleveland, which Cleveland coming off,
losing four in a row to Texas and just getting their heads handed.
I don't know if you saw any of that series.
The Rangers had their way with Cleveland.
And at that time, people were going to Cleveland's the best team in the AL.
Not that weekend.
Then they followed up by losing three out of four of the Yankees.
So the Indians have lost seven out of eight.
As they do lead Chicago by four and a half, Kansas City, seven and a half out, and Minnesota
still 10 games out.
They need to click to stay.
They need to hit the switch fast like now.
In the AL West, Texas Rangers, as we were talking about earlier, two up on Seattle, four
and a half up on Anaheim and eight up on Oakland.
Go to the senior league over the NL.
Hey, Philadelphia, just two and a half over Atlanta.
This time of year, the thing about the NL East, it's always a tight race.
Sometimes down to the wire, but sometimes it falls apart July.
This Atlanta brave organization, to me, has just been a great story to pass three seasons.
They really, except for Hayward, they really don't have chipper Jones and older player.
He's a role player.
He's now converted to Clubhouse leader.
To me, Atlanta's been a great story to pass a few years to me.
They're hanging tough, and in a division whereby I thought, oh, Philadelphia went that
division by 15 games, all those pitchers, cliffly, getting shelled quite a bit.
Yankees Rangers, thank the baseball gods.
You couldn't give this cat seven years.
He struck out 10 the other night.
I'll give you that.
But check the records.
He hasn't been mystery.
Whoa.
Yeah, it might have jumped down the ball back there.
Get it right.
Got it.
Florida, seven and a half back, the Mets, the Mets.
Some are calling them the Mets, the New York Mets.
Eight back, Washington, 10, in the Central Milwaukee, St. Louis, deadlocked, Cincinnati,
three and a half, Pittsburgh just five out of first.
Should call, are they, are they up 500 again yet?
No.
Chicago, 11 out, Houston, 13.
In the West, defending champions.
Oh, Houston's behind Pittsburgh.
No, Houston's two games below Pittsburgh.
That's what I'm saying.
Wow.
San Francisco, a half game up, over Arizona, Colorado, six back, the Dodger, seven and San
Diego.
Eight.
So we'll watch those divisions as we get closer and closer to the MLB All-Star Break.
Close to our one year anniversary on this show as we debut.
Believe that.
On these, these format, you hear now of this show debuted All-Star.
That was the night of the All-Star game.
Death of George Steinbrenner ushered in the birth of this show.
So we are.
It did.
Oh, I think we now found the title for tonight's episode.
So ushering George Steinbrenner ushering in the Club Island.
But we're Arizona.
I don't know.
All-Star game in Arizona to me.
I don't know.
To me, they were great ballpark.
Right.
I don't know.
I need that thing.
We're tractable.
It's pretty much every Thanksgiving in the league.
That it?
That's it.
That's my usually baseball talk.
You are listening to the Clubhouse with Robin Cody.
We are live every Tuesday night.
Right here on U-Stream.
We appreciate each and every one of you that are with us.
Yes.
If you are not a user here on U-Stream, just sign up.
It doesn't cost you anything.
We're not going to chat room.
We're not going to stalk you.
We're not going to email you.
You're not going to call you.
Get in there and jump in the chat room.
That's right.
Very interactive show.
We welcome all, all masses here.
We're getting close.
I am.
It's been all over Twitter, Facebook, ESPN.com, NFL.com, NFL Channel.
Rumor is a structured deal may be presented as June 21st.
That would be next week on the show.
If it's approved, we'll end the NFL lockout.
If you follow Twitter, I will tell you two guys.
If you really want the inside on this, and I usually don't do this for people I don't know,
especially corporate people, follow Adam Schefter or Mort.
Chris Mortensen off the ESPN.
Follow those two guys because they are in the know on this lockout.
Chris Mortensen tweets at 7 a.m. this morning that both sides are in DC with both sides of attorneys
and everybody is in negotiating mood.
Saturday was released at 1 NFL owner said this thing is about 95 percent done.
Details, none of this has been released.
Rookie cap, we don't know, 18 game schedule.
You can throw that out the window.
That's not happening.
No, I would like it to be.
Rookie cap, we don't know.
I know one thing, it's benefits for current informer players with a big sticking note in this.
I just think it's come down the NFL owners to me.
I think they've outlasted the players.
I just think the players don't have a leg to stand on anymore.
I know NFL network sending out letter, I mean direct TV sending out letters going,
you're not going to be charged till they play.
Well, they've already in damage control.
Let me ask you this.
Let's say it's not really done.
They've got, really likely, they've got to the third week of July to get this.
Okay, that's what I say.
But without missing any time, what is drop dead?
I think July 19th, into the second week of July,
I think you can still have a little, you're not going to travel to San Antonio for training camp.
You're not going to travel here right there.
They've already canceled everything's home stadium training camps.
Okay, that's the starting point.
And I wouldn't mind them trimming off two free season games.
Hall of Fame game, love you guys.
We're not going to do a game this year.
How about we pick?
How about we run a three hour show and show some of y'all guys classic games that night?
Why can't we...
Why do they have to have all of Fame game be the season opener?
That's true.
We could change that.
Absolutely.
I wouldn't mind them cutting back on the past season houses.
But this thing, I'm telling you brother, I think this thing is done in this month.
I have to stick by my gun.
You guys got to park on.
But I think a drop dead date to me would be the second or third week of July.
You could start a training camp.
August, maybe lose a few free season games.
Let's be honest, do these guys really need to be out there bumping and banging
in for nine to ten weeks to learn how to play football?
They're doing the workouts right now as it is.
I just don't think they're going to lose a lot.
Terrell Pryor hires an agent.
That agent is none other than Mr. Drew Rosenhaus.
He will enter the supplemental draft.
And Drew Rosenhaus says he will be drafted in the first round.
I believe it.
I think he might be your top ten pick in the supplemental draft.
I just feel that way.
I don't know.
I said the quarterback, him playing quarterback, that dog's dead.
I agree with that.
I think Terrell Pryor could jump into a situation where he could play wide receiver, kick,
return, putt, returner.
Will he know?
Will he wants to play it?
If he wants to play in this league, I think he will.
The kid, I mean, the kid's been making 50, surely he didn't save that $50,000.
He was making it every year in Ohio State for three years, four years.
Allegedly.
Allegedly.
Jessica Burris all but closes the doors on a return to the New York football giants.
But says he's intrigued about coming to a jet.
Can this team get any more out of control?
You're a jet, you're a jet.
I'm a jet.
Okay.
New York jets.
Are they going to try to just buy any high-priced to me?
This is starting to look like a mid-90s Yankee lineup.
Yes.
But you know what?
They're being successful in the fact that they're bearing the giants in headlines.
Also, if we do have a season, Carolina Panthers will be on hard knocks.
Really?
They will follow the rookie campaign of one Cameron Newton.
Sorry, there's that.
And then coming this news, coming out of St. Louis this week.
The St. Louis Rams are wanting the City of St. Louis to put almost a billion dollars in renovation
to the formerly Edward Jones Arena, formerly RCA.
Edward Jones Dome.
Edward Jones Dome.
Are there leaving?
RCA Dome was.
Who was that called before?
It was, um, what was it?
What was that called?
It was something else.
Look at Peter.
But the St. Louis Rams called this.
We called this.
I think they're the team that it lands in Los Angeles.
I've said that.
Well, they can take the name.
I've said that.
I just, St. Louis to me.
A lot of people say the reason why they don't draw well in St. Louis is because of the stadium.
So previously known as the Trans-World.
Trans-World, don't.
But the fans, the reason St. Louis fans are saying they don't go out to games is because simply the arena is a piece of crap.
And they charged you.
They charged too much.
We talked about that in this show.
A lot of people say we'd rather watch the game on television than go and see the Rams live.
I don't plan them.
NFL taught.
We will follow, follow some of these guys on Twitter.
I think this lockout, hold me to it folks.
I think this lockout, we're reaching the very end of this deal.
Like we're getting eerily close.
I mean, I'm seeing tweets that are agreeing with you.
And when some of those tweets are coming from Adam Schefter.
I just, as a guy that knows what he's talking about.
I think, I think we're getting close on this deal.
Now, what, like I said, nobody's saying what's in the current deal right now.
Nobody.
But I think you're 18 game seasons out of the building.
I think the rookie cap may be in there in some form.
But the 18 game season as much as we love to see that gone.
No way.
No way the player signed that deal.
Is the street light on?
It is.
Good.
I see.
Street lights already on.
Do you believe it?
It's time for the list.
For those of you joining us for the first time every week we close the show out.
With a list that either coach your eye does.
Is that proper English?
It's the pitch of things to me this week.
And I was thinking to myself, this list is one that a lot of people know about.
To run home for the Yankees.
Uh, Curtis Granderson goes yard again.
11-4 Yankees.
I kind of wanted to go a little bit of a different route with the list this week.
But yeah, Matt, you're absolutely right.
The LA is where the Rams came from.
By law, by NFL rule, they can't keep the name.
The Rams.
Right now, if you move, you can't take the name.
Raiders, Rams, and Chargers.
The only three teams that can return to LA and keep their respective name.
So this week's list.
I wanted to show you the top 10 films of all time adjusting for inflation.
What that means is if today's ticket prices had been the prices back then.
These would be your top 10 grossing films of all time.
Okay.
In comparison to without inflation.
Number 10.
The original.
The very first Disney animated film of all time.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Is number 10 adjusted for inflation.
Now, unadjusted for inflation.
I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking.
Do not see it at the top 100.
Number 9.
The Exorcist.
Wow.
Of all time.
And again, I'm looking, I'm looking, most of the seven of you don't adjust for inflation.
It's all the last 20 years.
So because ticket prices, that's when they started to hike.
Number 7, all time adjusted for inflation.
We go to the year 1975 to JAWS.
Great film.
The film that coined the term blockbuster.
Because when it was released, people were lined up around the block to see it.
That's where the term comes from.
It came from JAWS.
Number 6.
You'll know what I'm talking about when I say the boat movie.
Time 10.
Even adjusted for inflation.
It's number 6 all time.
Unadjusted for inflation number 2.
Behind Thunder Smurfs.
Number 5.
Part of Charlotte's favorites from 1956, the 10 Commandments.
Number 4.
Without inflation, it's number 6.
With inflation, it's number 4.
ET.
Yep.
You know what?
That came on the other day.
I was flipping.
You know what?
And it was the updated version.
With the walkie-talkie to the gun.
Stupid.
Great.
It holds up.
It holds up well.
Well, now it's called super rain.
So.
Number 3.
From 1965,
What's your last favorite movie?
It needs to be an oblivion.
It's out of music.
Huh.
Number 2.
Makes me proud.
Adjusted for inflation number 2 film of all time.
Star Wars Episode 4.
New Hope.
Good deal.
I remember.
So you weren't alive yet, though.
I remember just how insane this country went.
When that film released.
I mean, there were people seeing it multiple times the same day.
You're getting out and getting back in line to see it again.
It was amazing.
Number 1, which really shouldn't surprise anybody.
The number 1 film all time adjusting for inflation.
1939.
You better block out a day if you're going to watch it.
That's going to be.
Gone with the wind.
I wish the list that I had, though,
got from AMC's website, the channel, not the company.
I wish they'd given me what it actually.
I want to say it grows technically adjusting for inflation
was almost $2 billion.
Wow.
Good list.
And that was a film that back in the day literally traveled
from town to town.
It was like you were releasing a bunch of theaters.
So the pendulum now swings back to you.
Top Dan Yankees.
I'm just joking.
We're not even at the all-star break yet.
Well, Alex, join us next week.
Actually, I'm going to call tonight's episode Cody watches the Yankees.
Next week, episode 50.
Episode 50.
The return of college football cliffhanger.
Like I said, I will tweet those teams as they are chosen.
Also, don't forget Sunday, Fox, and Hal live.
Pre-show at 6.
Pebue at 7.
$3 cover, Fox, and Hal Richardson takes a 75 in Campbell.
Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you there.
We look forward to having each and every one of you with us next Tuesday night.
Eight on the east coast.
Five on the west coast.
For Cody, I'm Rob.
Clubhouse is closed.
Good night, Baluxy.
That's what I want.
That's what I want, my man.
That's what I want.
My man I want to be free.
That's what I want yeah.
That's what I want.
That's what I want yeah.
That's what I want.
Yeah, I give it my best, but I don't love it
Yeah, what I want, I give it my best
What I want, but I don't love it
Yeah, what I want, but I want
Yeah, what I want, that's what I want
I would like to carry on with a number by an American group called The Miracles
It's got you really got a hold on me
Oh
