The Clubhouse – Episode 2

Welcome to the clubhouse it is now open and we have production value.
This is one of the greatest rock bands in history of rock and roll.
I will not debate and that's another talk for another time. I think that may be a list one week.
The clubhouse is now open. I am Rob. I am joined by Cody. It is episode two, which we don't have a name for yet,
but we're going to have a name by the end of this thing. Maybe red planet, blue planet.
Oh, I mean, we can't use the tack of the clones. So yeah, that's already been used.
But opening up this week, we decided we're going to take the wrestling talk.
We're going to move it to the end of the show. So those are you that are not savvy to such things.
Don't have to worry about sitting through all the other stuff to get to the stuff you want to hear about.
It is, let's say, we're now in the last third of July.
Close enough, which means we are right around the corner from NFL training camp,
which means life is about to begin. If you know anything about either one of us, life starts in
August. It ends in February. Yeah, baseball hockey. That's just more of a little bit of filler for people.
Although this year could be really interesting, but we covered that last week. I don't want to go
over all that again. Let's talk about training camp. My first question is,
do we make too big of a deal of training camp?
Well, you know, we even now, and I think that we're making a big deal about basic little OTAs.
That's a point. Guys, you got to understand none of them when OTAs are really just going through
the motions. And that's what's so weird about it is it's, I've been the Cowboys training camp.
And if you're you're thinking you're going to make that trip, you really have to live football.
You've got to leg up in that category because I've never been. I mean, I didn't go to a pro game
until I moved the Dallas. It's a very long, very boring, very, okay, run that five yard slant
whistle blows. Do it again. Is it like watching Pop Warner practice?
Yeah, just with bigger guys. Just with bigger guys. I think it's it's a football practice. It is
when it's football practice at that. And see, to me, for that reason, I don't think training camp
really should be open to the public, especially. I mean, I mean, people get excited and I get that.
I mean, football is my favorite sport. But do I really want to take a day of vacation
and watch as Alan Iversen would say practice? Well, if you don't do that, you can go down here to
local high school. So yeah, football practice. You know, you can do a lot of places.
Yeah, there's one out there on the other side of town. That's probably is the same thing.
But yeah, we just make a big deal about it. And what's really really the disheartening thing about it
is you get guys, and I think that's when your your prima donna shows up. Is it training camp?
Most guys don't think they need conditioning. I mean, there were people that are synonymous
with holding out a training camp. And it's me. Yes, there were people just didn't do training.
Brett Farve. Brett Farve. They just didn't do it. I think it hurt you. I think you have to have
the practice. Get the bones, the muscles, all that loosened up and go out there and hit somebody,
catch a ball, throw a ball, block a guy, kick a ball. I think it's very good. But we do make a
little bit too big deal about it. And you made an interesting point. And I want to I want to
elaborate on that until our next point is you talked about the prima donna and how they kind of
will do their deal. This year, this is what the fifth year HBO has done this twice with the
Calvoy's. You had once with Cincinnati, a couple other teams. This year, hard knocks is being done
with the potential meltdown team known as the New York Jets. Does that cater to that?
Because now it's a wait a minute. I'm going to be on HBO. I'm going to be on TV.
Does now, does that help or does that hurt? Because the prima donna camp show out if they're not
on the show. But by having the show there, it kind of makes training camp look like something that
it may not necessarily be. Well, the only thing that I really thought and I watched when when
Baltimore did it was that season one or season two season one was the Calvoy's. Okay. Maybe I
would have had them in season two or three. I don't know if Calvoy's been back to back or they
skipped a year. The only thing that I personally liked about the hard knocks was I liked when the
guy came in the office and the coach said, hey, look, son, thank you for showing up. He really
didn't have what it took to be in the NFL and pretty much get your get your stuff out of your
locker and go home. I like that aspect of the show. Some of it does get hokey. You know, you give
a clown a stage. You'll be a clown. And that is just pretty much the way it is there. And that
was going to be kind of you touched on something that I wanted to talk about too. And that is
on a certain level, some of these guys you get kind of a you get kind of invested in a little bit.
And I think that there's guys out there, especially some of these cats that didn't make the Calvoy's
squad the two times they were or two or three times they were on that otherwise wouldn't have a
career. But now because they they were showed their work ethic and showed how hard these guys trained
that they got gigs with other teams. I think it's kind of a double edge sort. Yeah, I think it's
you can definitely a way to expose yourself to the to the game. But I think a lot of it is
is it's entertainment. I think you want to you want to get on that level to go, hey, look at me,
I'm making a record or I'm rapping or I'm dancing or I'm fighting with the coach and the owner,
where's my money? Where's my contract? I think that's what a lot of it is in the Jets. They'll be
that that will be a melt meltdown because you remember who wrecks Ron's daddy is. Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah. He is as combustible as his daddy. I'm sure.
I don't know what's going on with our mics today. It's not they're not cooperating like they normally
do. Like I say, normally we've been on one show. Which kind of now leads into the next part of
preseason. It happens every year. I don't know how many years they've actually been doing it. I've
only been paying attention to preseason for five or six years as most people have the hall of,
I mean, the hall of fame ceremony. I love the hall of fame ceremony. This year it's going to get
long winded. Well, yeah, because you have the greatest receiver of all time in Jerry Rice and
the greatest running back of all time, of course. Well, I wouldn't say all time leading Russia.
That's another subject for number two on that list in my personal. But he is the NFL
leading Russia. And that's just the way it is. And you know, it's just one of them deals. I like
the hall of fame. I like it when people get in that I know their name and had some type of a
relevance to when I was a kid. And that's what I liked about it was Jerry Rice and it's Smith. Those
were people I grew up and in my teenage years and sold in play, you know, Dallas in the 90s,
the Niners in the 80s. The thing about the hall of fame is it's getting to where we're being
you read a list one night of guys that aren't in that we thought we're in. And I think it's
getting real selective of who's in and who's not in. Do you buy the Cowboy anti, anti cowboy bias?
Absolutely not. There's a couple guys that I kind of go man. He's you put pretty much all the 70
Steelers in and all the 70 Raiders in you get out of the Raiders, you get two rings. I think
Emmett for Cowboy fans, unless a a guy like a J Nova checker somebody falls down to your veterans
committee. I really think this puts a cap on the 90s Cowboys. This puts the cap on the triplets.
I just Jimmy Johnson will not get into the head coach. Darren Woodson, I think he's a hall of
fame or handman or he's up. He was on the ballot this year. I just I think this puts a cap on the 90s
Cowboys on that dynasty. See, I really thought they'd wait until Emmett's five years were up. I
thought all three of them would go in together. I was always of that opinion. I was kind of surprised
that they didn't. But then you push back Mike, you know, Mike would have been retired at that
point. He'd have been, you know, it took him two years to get in. So you push him back, you know,
Troy, you know, it's funny real quick if I got him in. Oh, we got time. Troy Eggman, funny story
about him. I was listening to some some national radio and, you know, he only had one season where
he completed over 20 touchdowns. Troy did? 92. Wow. And but he did go that retired with the most
accurate quarterback of all time when he retired. And that's pretty much what got him in the hall of
fame. Yeah, I just, I don't know. I love the Hall of Fame, which, which brings me to the point I'm
getting to. I love the Hall of Fame hate the Hall of Fame game. Well, if it's a Hall of Fame game,
you're really honoring the Hall of Famers, make the starters play the whole game. You know what,
I'm on board with that. I'm totally on board with that. It preseason in general just is just a
beating to me because the fact that the owners, they make you pay for those games as part of your
your season ticket package. Why can't you just do? All right, here's a deal. We're going to play
a preseason game against Cleveland. Pay 20 bucks. You can sit wherever you want. First come,
first serve. You're going to make your money. Yeah. Because you're going to have to die hard in
your town that are going to be there. I just, I just watching guys that I know I will never see
on a football field again for as long as I walk this planet is where I have the problem. Well,
I guarantee you one city that'll sell a lot of preseason football tickets in that's Denver,
St. Louis and Cleveland. Yes, sir, because you've got three quarterbacks there, dynamic quarterbacks,
some better than others, but guys that people want to see play because you may not see them none of
them play this year on a starting quarterback. Well, I will debate you on one of them.
Tim Sam. I think I get him signed. I don't I don't think I don't think he starts week one,
but I think if they go into the buy and things are looking kind of shaky. AJ Feely not getting it done.
That's a whole famer, sir. It's a former dolphin. Great. He was a former dolphin. Let's not
you throw it right. Yeah, I just I and St. Louis talk is going to come for another time because as
we get closer to the NFL season, we will be a little bit more NFL intensive. We do have some more
things to talk about about training camp and things of its nature. But before we get to that,
we do want to make sure that you understand we're here every week without fail unless something
happens and go sideways. Keep up with us on Facebook at the clubhouse podcast. You can send us
email at clubhouse podcast at Yahoo.com. That is the official email for the show. You want to send
us an idea. You want something for us to talk about. You want to send us a list of your own.
You disagree with a list that we've written. So do that and we'll try to get to as many of these
as we can. We try to record every Tuesday evening to have it up and running on Wednesday.
So that way you have a you have a routine with us as well.
Which brings me to my next point. We talked about we mentioned him earlier.
Brett Farve.
If you remember the commercial he did during the Super Bowl where he was kind of parodying
himself and it was the year 2020 and he's still getting an MVP. Yeah.
Is that parody or is that getting closer to reality? Well, you know, it's funny how you can't
Brett almost in sports has become this untouchable idol or something that you can't really say
anything bad about him or you look stupid or not in my world. He just loves the game. I keep
here and he just loves the game. I think that Brett Farve. I think he's arrogant. I think he's a good
player and that's an under debate at one time. Is Brett Farve good or would he just play a long time?
And that's one thing. Minnesota can't win. Well, they say he's got all the records good and bad.
That's true. Minnesota can't win without him. I agree. So they let's you're just running the ball
for 60 minutes and you can't even make hatred and Peterson running for that long. And they've got to
get the system with him that is where you can't kind of leave the you can't kind of dangle the
carrot out there and then finally decide to take it. You need to go if you're Brad Childress.
Hey, man, we kind of need to know what's going on. I think it's going on too long. It's Farve
Watch 10. Yeah. We've been doing this since 07. Oh, but you won't have him committed until
training camp. Yeah. I mean, the Farve Watch things are getting it's getting repetitive. It's
getting old either Brett play or go back to Mississippi. One of the other. I agree. Yeah.
I think a lot in a lot of ways this year. Minnesota success. And like I said, we're not
getting NFL heavy tonight because it's training camp starts Friday. There'll be stories come out.
But to me, Minnesota is a team that I think last year. If Brett doesn't get creative there,
at the end of the I don't know if we have New Orleans and a Super Bowl. Matter of fact,
I know we probably don't. They have to have him to win. Adrian Peterson's good.
Jared Allen's good. Percy Harbin's great. They got a decent coach. They don't have a quarterback.
Yeah. Without him there. Is Tavaris still in the back up?
Sager Olson felt as you're back up in Minnesota. Another former dolphin player.
And a little tease. I'm going to tell you that that that that NFC that central.
I thought they were north north. That NFC north this year is going to be there is no central
any. That's right. Sorry. Hey, that's just your old-school brother.
But that NFC that NFC north is going to be I think it's Green Bay and a lot of other guys hanging out.
So speaking of divas. We had one here in Dallas. Didn't like him when he was here. Still don't like him.
Terrell Owens and let's let's be clear on something because this annoys me.
I don't like the dude. But say the dude's name right. It is Terrell Owens.
It is Terrell Davis. Know your T.E. Double R.E. Double L and Terrell Texas.
And Terrell Texas. Yes. It is Terrell Owens. It is Terrell Davis. That's all I'm saying.
Is anybody going to sign this guy? Anybody? The bills? That was failure.
I don't care how anybody sees it. His stint with Buffalo was failure.
Well, my whole deal with Terrell Owens is I still think if you look. Terrell Owens.
T.O. There we go. My thing with T.O. is I think he is a type of guy. You know what you're getting.
You know, it's like, you know, you go down certain part of town by a 1972 Pinto.
Well, you know what you're probably getting yourself into. And he's that type player.
The thing about T.O. when he is on, he is on and he's top five in the game.
I actually went through and did a little research on that. I tell you a team that needs him desperately,
but I think they won't sign him just because Chicago's a circus anyway.
Oh, yeah. Just give you some guys here. Chicago, really to me,
you're going to help Jay Cutler. Well, Earl Bennett and Joaquin Eglaceus
had five receptions between him last year. And that's going at your death chart at
the wide receiver and a bunch of other guys. And they have signed Jay Cutler, which I'm telling you,
maybe one of the biggest busts in history NFL. If you're, if you're Denver or you just laughing,
yeah, right now, he was a bust. Denver walked away with two first round draft picks for that guy.
I think another one where I think where he lands is Seattle. I think, I think Carol's just
stupid enough guys like Deon Branch. He's banged up. Do you know what? I had him in
a fantasy football one year and he screwed me at the end of week 17 or whenever the last week
of our season was. So I have no love for Deon Branch. Um, and then TJ Hushman, Zana. He was a
little, he was a little banged up at the end of last year and it hampered them from making
winning those extra two or three games playoffs. And then he got a rookie in Golden Tate. I just,
I see Adles a team that they need to make an impact. Pete Carroll's going to want to make an
impact his very first year. And last but not least is San Diego. San Diego's never given
Philip Rivers outside of Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson and, and very small amount of time.
They've never had him a deep threat. And San Diego to me is one of those teams where they're always
just that close. They're, I mean, they come out and they just dominate. It's kind of like
watching Rangers baseball. You get to the halfway point and then things kind of go and we are
going to get local on you for a man. I'm sorry about that. But it's the same thing. They come out
so strong and it's, you know, I remember a time where there was a sports bar where the San
Diego Supercharger theme was sung on every touchdown. And I don't want to say who led that song,
but he is sitting in the same room with me. But, and it's just, you think, man, you know,
maybe finally San Diego's going to get their due. And then it just all falls apart.
You know, I've always kind of had a love affair with San Diego. I'll admit that I've always,
you know, I've always, they were a team that kind of with when you think about San
Diego with, with drafting LT and getting Drew breeze in the same draft. And Drew breeze kind
of struggling and God them coming back. And I'm going to, we, the long story. I'm not going to
name any names. We had to get together and Drew had who's your, who's your sleeper team,
Dark Horse. And I drew San Diego and I rode with them and they made the wild card.
And you did ride with them. Make no mistake. You committed to the deal. And I'll give you credit
for that. And we need to bring that back. Yeah. And let's put a date on it. Let's say
the week of August 22nd have your Dark Horse team ready. And you can email us, email us your
Dark Horse team. Absolutely. And we will, we'll put you in it. And I don't know maybe by that time,
we might get some t-shirts printed up or something. Give you something. The clubhouse at Yahoo.com.
The clubhouse podcast at Yahoo.com. Clubhouse podcast at Yahoo.com. Yeah. Cody didn't create the
email account. Our, our, our Facebook silent third partner, Chad Warwick. Thank you for that,
sir. He also just, he also designed our logo. That's on our Facebook page.
Make sure you look it up. The clubhouse podcast on Facebook. He's doing a lot of work
behind the scenes for us. And I greatly appreciate it, sir. I know Cody does as well.
We talked a little bit about preseason. There's, there's, there's every year. There's always
the rumor we're going to change preseason. Four games is too many. How do you feel though about
sacrificing a preseason game for an 18th regular season game? Well, I agree with what Ray Lewis said
it best. I think Tom Brady echoed, echoed him is, I think you are putting a lot of pressure on
your, on your stars at that point. With this next bullet point, that's going to work right into
that actually. Um, you know, Ray Lewis isn't, Ray Lewis isn't a coward. Ray Lewis is going to
put on the hat and he's going to give you a 60 full, full blown minutes every single Sunday.
I agree with him. You know, if you open it up to a two extra games, you're open yourself up
to more injuries. That's only one extra game. You're playing 17 now. Yeah, you can look at it that
way. I think I think the closer you get to 20, the more dangerous it gets. But yeah, they are,
it is what it is. I think what's happening now. Nothing's for sure because we got to get through
the CBA. So let's just talk about football 2010. Let's, let's hope we have football in 2011.
I want to get into that probably about midseason. I want to start when things, when this thing
starts to get real. Yeah. That's when I want to talk about the CBA because it's so sketchy right now.
At this point, don't count on football next year. And that's all I'm going to say. You can't. I
think they're, they're not even close to an agreement. So whoever wins this championship down here
in Arlington to make no mistakes. It's not Dallas, it's Arlington. Yes, sir. They might have a two or
three year run. You know, to be the man, you got to beat the man. That's like I said, the lightning
added back to back NHL championships because they could defend the cup if they played. That's an
automatic repeat. Absolutely. Last thing I want to talk about when we talk about football because we
believe me, this is going to get a lot more football intense over the coming weeks, my friends.
New rule this year. Week 17. Everybody plays a division opponent. And the object here is
you don't sit your stars going into the playoffs. But here's my feeling on that.
If I have a ticket to a week 17 game, am I expecting to see Peyton Manning? Am I expecting to see
Adrian Peterson? Am I expecting to see Eli Manning? Am I expecting to see the Manning that
doesn't even play? No. I'm expecting to see the guys, they're going to be there. And they're
going to be in uniform just in case something goes sideways on you. But I'm in favor of sitting your
stars and saving them for the playoffs once you have it locked down. You know, it matters to me if I
spend $85 a ticket. But you know what you're getting. That's true. You do. It's not like you woke up
on December 26th and went, I can't wait to see Tony Romo. Well, you're going to wait another week.
And then out trots your backup guy. I've one of I always said never trust that quarterback.
Me and Elvis, Gus or Kitna. That's true. Ever. That's a big thing in Cowboys camp right now. Cowboy
world is do they really have a proven backup quarterback that they think can really carry the ball. But
yeah, I like it. You know, I'd like Gidele one thing about him. I think he's a fans commissioner.
And I think that's one thing that's refreshing that sports was I agree with that. I do like he's
probably my favorite commissioner of the four. Yeah. And I like that. I think you you you have the
Cowboys in Philadelphia and you've got Tennessee Indianapolis and you you know New Orleans. It'll
Atlanta. I like that. I like that a lot. I think that it's trying to it might be
applied to sell some of those tickets that might not sell out on a week 17 game. For sure.
I just I just by my whole point is you know what you're getting. And what what's going to it's
going to go either way. It's either going to work really well or you're going to get some major
guys injured in that week 17. Yeah. When you're when you're playing like you're going to have teams
out there that are going to be playing for a spot in the playoffs because it's all division play.
Yeah. One thing about it that's kind of weird was some of them. It might you know it might
might make or break a playoff runner possibly division. It might do that. But then you've got some
which we're not making predictions. I don't think Dallas and Philadelphia has any playoff implications
at all. You just never know though. We go parody. Yeah. You just never know. I think yeah. It has
playoff implications. I'm not saying Dallas. I'm not saying Dallas Philly. No. But that is your
week seven. You're going to you're going to yeah. Absolutely. But you're going to have other
divisions. Oh yeah. Where things might get a little squirrely on you. Well, if you're
to Philadelphia and Dallas, you've played that game three years in a row. True. So really it's no effect.
But again, you have to look at I'm looking at it as a more of a big picture thing. Oh yeah. Sure.
You know, I mean that NFC East or that answer that AFC East could get weird. Yeah, it could get
weird and that NFC South. Yeah. Always one you got when you've got Atlanta. You've got New Orleans.
You've got Carolina. You've got Tampa Bay. Yeah. That can get weird come November. Yeah. And then
we'll talk about this. We're going to do a big NFL show and really get all this out in the open
which I am very hugely hugely excited about. And I just I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready to get
the helmet on man. I'm ready to knock. Oh, I'm right there with you. I'm ready. I am right there
with you. Do you want to quit and send a quick shout out? We did get an email and I forgot to print
that out. I just did that. I want to give some love to John Crowbueic GMC if you are a local
here in Dallas or if you know somebody who is look him up on Facebook. We I can't say that we
don't have a personal connection there. We do. I dad. I dad. I'm not seeing now that statement
is really going to confuse people. But if you know, you know, and if you don't, you don't.
We're actually it's Cody's dad. I call him dad because he's I feel like he's my dad too because
he's great people. Look him up on Facebook. John Crowbueic GMC. We love to shamelessly promote
things and we'll be shamelessly promoting a lot of stuff as this goes on. You want to you want
us to plug your business? We'll do it. We don't care. Now before we leave college, there's something
we have to tease because it's almost time. It is almost time, my friends. As much as we love the
NFL. Oh, yeah. Saturday ball. I'll tell you what you can get. We could do a five hour podcast
on college football alone because we love the sport so much. Cody, what do you got? Well,
I've got a little something worked on. I'm kind of calling it the college cliffhanger. I've got two
teams. I've looked up, you know, real quick zero disclaimers on this. I have no bias. Yeah,
we probably we probably have to put our allegiances out there. Yeah. Before we go into this, I
the University of Florida Gators are my team of my youth of my childhood. I went to the
University of South Florida for my freshman year. So those are my allegiances. And yes, I know
week two is going to be very difficult for me. Cody. And I'm sure that everybody listed knows me.
I am OU Boomer sooner all the way. Not a not a Texas hater. I'm just a college football
realist and there's some people in Austin sometimes that are not. I agree with you there too.
But I was, you know, I was I was really want to do this this segment. And I was I was all week
long. I was thinking I was thinking what to do. And I thought one team like them or not. You had
to give the double their due. And my first team on the college cliffhanger this year is the
University of Alabama. Yeah, you're the champ. Yeah. What do they say? You're the champ until
somebody tells you otherwise. You know, Alabama was a team that kind of they didn't come out of
nowhere. They they were there. They were in the they were in the big games. They have honestly,
there's there's two coaches right now. And I hopefully some people outside of Texas that are
SEC fans will list this till you beat Sabin and Meyer shut up. I agree. Absolutely. I mean as much as
my blood boils at the very mention of Nick Sabin because I am a doll fan and what he did to my
dolphins was brutal. I cannot deny that man is a genius on the college level. And on the other
side of the globe. Hey, big 12 team, A&M, Nebraska, Kansas, till you can beat Brown and Stoops,
shut up. I agree. I mean, it's and now that I'm I'm kind of glad we didn't do this thing two months
ago. When we were embroiled in the whole shift that's going to change our football. Armageddon
of college football. So glad we started after that because what a mess that turned into. But with
every national championship team you have losses. And Alabama took some big ones on the defensive
side of the ball. That to me kind of was a heartbeat. A typical Nick Sabin coach team defense wins
titles. Terrence Cody. You know, he's an NFL guy now. Kareem Jackson, Ronaldo McClain, the number
one linebacker in college football. He's not there this year. They got to plug that hole. But
there's been some guys return. Of course, husband trophy winner, Mark Ingram. Does he have a chance
to repeat? No, because his teammate will win it and Trent Richardson who's also returned.
The kid is a beast. Um, and you know, you know, a guy that I remember when I'm also a guy
I don't like to plug people's stuff. And I'm a big recruiting guy. And is that gets into February
when we get into that. But Julio Jones was no one wide receiver in the country five star athlete.
And I remember that he was two between OU, Alabama and Florida. Well, he ends up in Alabama.
There's worse. There's worse choices. You could have to. And really, honestly, he hasn't done a
whole lot. But I can tell you this though, you take a hundred casual college football fans and
you put them in a room and you make a list of names. More than half of them are going to know who he
is. Yeah. And really, isn't that about 40% of what gets you to the NFL? That's true. That's
true. Um, and a little bit here, you know, scheduling's everything. And I'll discover some
quick hits, some games here. Um, big one here was real big back when Joe Pa in the bear were there.
Um, Penn State comes into Tuscaloosa, September 11th, uh, Penn State, not the same team last year,
a lot of young players. I think that's winnable for Alabama. Again, that a lot of people have an
asterisk by September 25th and Fayette Nama against Arkansas in Fayetteville, number one offense in
the SEC. Really? With a rebuilt defense, Ryan Mallett led the country in quarterback efficiency
last year as a hog. Thank you, big 12, by the way, for them. We appreciate it. And, uh, you know,
a game that I think has, if they could play every year, it'd be, oh, you Texas top level,
then the gators come to Tuscaloosa. Did not play them or Auburn last year in the regular season.
And this just in Tim Teebo did graduate. He did. Yes, he did. I know where he is now. And
although I have not bought my Denver 15 jersey yet, I, and he's a whole topic that I want to
cover as we get closer to NFL season because he is a lightning rod amongst, amongst people
who do things of our ilk just talking sports. And I want to get to that later because we could do
20 minutes on that alone. And a lot of it is, you know, and he got the Iron Bowl,
November 2nd Auburn every year. Always a good game to watch. But I got, I got some reasons why
there's no way they repeat. Okay. They will. There's no way. And I'm, I'm not going to say no way,
but it's, it's a better than zero chance. There's no way they go through three SEC regular seasons
undefeated. I cannot think that they can do that. There's just something about that. That's tough.
That's a war of attrition in that conference. Yes, it is. And I mean, it's tough to reap me.
It's very, I've always said, that's why, you know, people want to argue this. We beat up on
each other so much. If you can survive that conference, you should automatically go to the PCS chip.
Don A&M. I wish you to jump to over there.
Seattle boy, that's a whole other topic for a whole other day too.
And I think this, this last point here is I, I really see a prediction, a small prediction.
Don't hold me to it. Don't blow me up on the email or Facebook. I'm thinking BCS at large.
I really don't know if they can repeat and get back to that level again.
Oh, well, I mean, we'll revisit this. The BCS will be released in mid October. And we will
revisit this because if you know me, you know my problems with the BCS. And I don't even want to
get into those right now because we're not even through that point. And let me just end the sports
talk on this note. Pre-season college polls don't count. Exactly. And I want to be my other end of
the cliffhanger that that doesn't count a team that where we record from.
Walk the halls, chaining this chant. I have to go with Nebraska. Speaking of pre-season polls,
don't count. I'm sorry. I don't see it. They're not the number nine team in the country this year.
That's where they don't count. Yeah. Key losses. Madonna can sue. That's it. That was your team.
He can't kid almost single-handedly beat Texas. He carried you. I guess key returns.
Ray Hallue. He's a meaty ochre at bashed running back. And I think this is a program. And I
hate to say this because with Oklahoma, if you're an Oklahoma fan or even a Texas fan, we need,
well, we don't need more after next year. But we need needed Nebraska to be good
during this past 10, 11 year run and they're stuck in mediocrity. They're a team that I consider
almost like a Notre Dame. Right. They had a lot of success early on. But then, you know,
come to 2000s other than a one national title appearance where Miami, if you remember that team,
Jeremy Shockey. Yeah. Those guys, they showed them the door in Pasadena pretty quick. I think
they're ranked too high. I think they just showed on the door. They had they arranged an intimate
meeting between them and the door. But they'll hold this ranking with openings at San Diego State,
Wyoming, Idaho. And they do go to Washington, September 18th, and then they Texas comes place
there. I would love to see Nebraska beat Texas. But I don't think Nebraska can score. I don't
think they can score points. Well, no by then. And I'm just honestly here just real quick to end
this in this up. They got a target on their back, especially when you go to the big 12 North with
teams like Missouri, Kansas Iowa State. They kind of feel like Nebraska's left them holding the
bag in that conference. They might win the big 12 North with three losses. They may do that.
I don't see them improving much. I'm saying cotton bowl or holiday bowl at at best at best. I
don't see now they may be in Dallas because like I said, they may win that big 12 North because it is
so bad. It's depleted. But I've said that for years. And I hate to say that, but I just Nebraska,
I don't know if you're quite ready for prime time yet. And we'll find out. Absolutely.
That is your college football clipping. Well, I'll tell you what, that's going to wrap up the sports
parts of this. Like we told you, we're not just sports intensive. We like to cover as much
things as we know about. We don't like to cover things that we don't know about. You know,
you're not going to get economics talk on this show. This ain't balloon. We're talking old spill.
We're talking old spill here. It's done. It's it's capped in it. Didn't they cap it? Yeah.
And there's the leaks that they have now. We're minimal. They said, I don't know. We're leaking to
me. He's always about that. We are going to do some entertainment news. And we're going to start by
just saying simply Mel Gibson. You're an idiot moving on. Well, actually, I've got this audio here.
Nobody's heard it. That's again, a local joke. And we're not going to get into that. But I do want
to take a minute. This this day in history in the year of our Lord, 2010, a young lady who shares
a birthday with me, although many years removed from one another. Lindsay Lohan went to jail today
for a 90 day term, which she'll serve about three weeks of. I'm sure. Is that like Ernest goes to
jail? Totally different. Totally different section of the country. God rest his soul. Great.
Jim Barney. Do you speak it before we get to that speaking of things and people that you see
who passed away just the other day. God that played Lou, the manager from Major League. Greatest line
of that movie is Hey Lou, how'd you like to coach the Indian? I got another guy on the line with some white walls.
And the greatest lines in that movie. Greatest line. Very underrated film. Anyway, now let's back to Lindsay Lohan.
How many chances is this kid going to get seriously? Seriously? Is she is she hot? She used to be.
I look at her like the girl from the parents. She I mean, she hit the wall fairly quickly.
Fairly quickly. And you know what's funny is I hate to remind me a lot. He was older. Maybe she
can rebound like a Robert Downing Jr. You never know. Now, yeah, I mean, but see, I get that was
with age though. And she's got a long way to go. Now, you see that vanity fair spread. She did
two or three years ago where she did the Marilyn Monroe thing. I'm on board with the freckles. I think
the freckles looked good. Yeah, Lindsay is going to be I hate I hate to to wish this upon anybody
worse enemy. I just think that she has the potential to be another one of these Hollywood tragedies
that we find in a gutter of the Viper room one night. Yeah, I'm not going to describe her in the hotel
room with a needle in her arm and a bunch of blow up her nose. But here's my question for her.
You're on your way into court. You're literally about to walk in. Didn't look at a judge
who's going to tell you what the next three months of your life could be like. She had not been
sent and she was literally on her way into the courthouse and she posts on Twitter going in now
like they're really going to send me to jail. Uh, you know, it's one of those things celebrity. I
tell my wife, you know, we got to hold these people accountable athletes, musicians, celebrities.
At some time the bit gets old. Very much so. And I just I heard that and I went, are you stupid?
You're lucky that judge didn't go. No, and real quick on this. Her dad's a nut. Her whole family's
nuts. How's he famous? How's her mom face? What's Michael low hand done? But Michael and Dina,
that's their they're they're they'll and you know, she's got a sister. They were trying to put in
the business and that worked about as well as Jessica Simpson sister, you know, she taught her.
I don't know. Actually, I fell dirty. No, dirty sir. No, sir. I'm sticking with Jessica on this.
Even though she's gone back to the NFL apparently. Yeah. And who is he? I keep hearing former NFL
star. No, well, let's not put that label on it. He was practice God. No, he was a backup quarterback.
I want to say Cincinnati. Yeah, because I just look at the paperwork. I thought at first it was
a great gym drunken miller. If you remember him, that ilk. Chris Johnson's this guy's name, right?
Not not Tennessee's Chris Johnson. No, finally, starting to contract you. Yeah. Yeah.
A little bit of film news. Headline hits Yahoo yesterday. And I pronounce the word yesterday
phonetically for someone out there. Apparently, the Janice Joplin biopic is now getting off the ground.
It's finally going to happen. Amy Adams. I love Amy Adams. She's beautiful. She's
printed great movie. Loved it. I need that's what I had to say about that. Yeah, too attractive.
They're really going to have to to to ugly her down a little bit. Well, Janice. Two words, sir.
Charlie's theoron monster. Yeah, one of my wife's favorite films. That's that's my home state.
And it just creeps me out to watch. But yeah, they really they might have to to doll her down a
little bit. You know what? How many how many times have we heard this? There's been five different
directors. Melissa Etheridge was attached at one point. Yeah, there's been so many people attached
to this film. You know what started this walk the line. I'd go further back than that. I think
the music biopic has always been something that people have gone to because it's it's that living
vicariously thing. I want to see the world through this person's eyes. I think walk the line
kind of get made a lot of money. A little little kick in the butt to research exactly. But I think
the music biopic has always been something. And even more so than the actor biopic or the sports
biopic, I think the music biopic has because musicians tend to have a whole different aura around
them. Yeah. And I'm just now kind of starting to understand that that since I've been in a band
for a few months now, I kind of understand that. I mean, I've always been a musician. But now that
I'm actually in a band, even though it's a Christian rock band, you still it's still a group of
musicians and musicians carry a different aura of mystery that I don't think you see with actors
or sports figures. You know, I hope it does well. I like Janice Corpus Christi Texas. She's a
she's a Texas girl. I did not know that. Yeah, went a real quick went to high school with one
Jimmy Johnson. I did hear that the other day. I heard that on the radio the other day. They are
from the Corpus Christi era area. It it could be good, but it could also be one of the biggest
failures ever. Yeah. I mean, it definitely has the potential to go either way. I think we saw a
pick of a epic failure or fixing to see. That was that's called a segue, sir. Well played cover
of entertainment weeklies summer movie halfway point deal. We saw our first image of let me
preface this by saying the great Ryan Reynolds. I am a huge fan. Love his work. But that green
lantern costume. I almost wept openly. It's bad. Do we need do we need to put fiber optics in the
costume? I mean, can't he have something in his contract that says, can I have final say on the
costume? You know, we all we mean when we heard this was green-lotted. Once again, another film that's
had a ton of actors and a ton of producers and directors DC attacked attached a lot of people to
this project. A lot. And every time it seemed to get a script was written. It was scrapped. It was
scrapped. And almost as long as Ironman. Yeah. And as Ironman has been floating around since the
early 90s when Tom Cruise was attached to it. Rob and I spoke at Green Lantern at length about two
months ago. I think it fails. And I hate to say that I love how Jordan I like the story. I think
on film, I think it's too spacey. Yeah, but see, but I think with Green Lantern is I like Green Lantern
as a character. I like the fact that, you know, it's your current Green Lantern, if we can do
comic book talk here, your current Green Lantern is a graffiti artist. So his imagination of what
comes out of the ring is a lot more vivid. And I like that concept. I just I mean, I need to see a
trailer. I need to see a trailer like now because right now I have a terrible terrible feeling in my
stomach about this movie. To me, it has a daredevil type feel already. To me, it has a and I hate
to say that level is going to be on a list we're going to do in a few weeks. Love, love Green Lantern.
I like Ryan Reynolds. You know, I think they did him real dirty in the Deadpool, but that's
and that's another second segment. But could work. I don't want to bury it could work. He could sell it
himself. I think in anything that seems to be comic book attached makes a little coin.
Something I thought about the other day. Very first husband and wife team to be in Marvel films.
Can you name me another one?
As in in the comic books or in the in the movies. Remember, he was he did Deadpool and played. That's right.
She is Black Widow. Oh, yeah. Yeah. How did that work out? Marvel project this month. DC. I mean,
how does I mean, I guess you can't really force the start to say you that's because technically,
it's not a conflict of interest. Will our net as the voice of kit. I didn't see how that was a
conflict of interest with him doing GM work, but that's just me. Yeah. I was thinking I was just
watching the spike guys choice awards. I know I'm a month and a half behind, but you should see
what my DVR looks like. And I saw her and I went, you know what? I think they're probably the first
married couple to both done a comic book property much less under the same banner. No pun intended.
Yeah, I just, you know, I I want it to be good. I really do. I wanted it. I wanted Spider-Man 3
to be good and it wasn't. I hated all three films. I was so ready for them. I was ready to see
Venom and see what they were going to really do with him and Remy just buried that film. And I don't
want this to be bad, but just one thing. This has to be good because it's leading up to your Justice
League movie. This has to have some water. This has to this has to deflote. Yeah. And speaking of
franchises that are building up, Marvel this week has gone nuts with the Thor images. We've had
four different images from that film posted to marvel.com this week. I'm concerned.
It looks cheesy. And I know me and you have debated this. You say you say the Steve Rogers film
being Captain America was going to be the toughest one to do. That is the toughest one to do.
I've said it was Thor. I can see with Thor. I mean, and I'll tell you the difference.
I got four words for you. Clash of the Titans.
Yeah. And that's why that's why Cap's going to be so much tougher to do as I smack my mic
stand. Cap's going to be so much tougher to do because with Thor you have that fantasy element
of it. With Captain America, you have to be able to ground it in reality. And I've seen pictures
of the costume and it looks ridiculous. Yeah. I really, I don't know. And I know if you real quick,
you know, Norton being scrapped out of Hulk for now. I don't know if that film works.
It has to well, I'm not going to make a dime if it does or doesn't. I think it has to work,
but I really don't know it will work. I'm looking forward to it. I think that once you do your JLA
and you do your Avengers though, I think we may be closing the book on the comic adaptation
chapter in film history. Yep. Because what else are you going to say? Exactly. I mean, I've
Facebooked this long time ago. If you're not a vampire, a comic book hero or an old 80s TV show
or movie, you don't have a chance in Hollywood or running out of ideas. Yeah, you're absolutely
right. I mean, there's nothing going on that they need to make a movie about. No. Yeah. It's it's
a definitely an interesting point, which go ahead. But one thing on the on the Thor images.
It looks cheesy, which we haven't seen the finished project. I thought the I thought the first
images as Heath Ledger's the Joker were, yeah, until I saw the finished product and what he was
going to. Yeah, the very first image we ever saw, which was like the very dim image of his face.
I was kind of like, this is kind of creepy, but it's Nolan. So I mean, this is the guy that brought
us Memento, whose current film is killing, killing. Try to see that twice this week. We actually
both did. We were going to we were actually going to have a review ready for you this week and
we were going to put on our our movie reviewer glasses and sit across from an aisle from each other
and that didn't quite happen. But we do pledge to you that we are going to be doing stuff like that.
You know, we don't we don't mind mixing it up a little bit. And if you've got some suggestions,
we've said it before. We'll say it again. Clubhouse podcast at Yahoo.com. Come to the Facebook page.
Join us post on the wall. We're open to it, which brings us to this week's releases. I was looking
through the new releases this week coming out Friday, only one movie of any consequence.
And I say any consequence because I don't put much consequence. It is the latest vehicle
from Miss Angelina Jolie called Salt, where she plays a CIA agent. I believe CIFBI,
something of its ilk and a Russian informant tells her that he got an MMO that Evelyn Salt,
whose her character was going to kill the president and she goes on the run. I'm going to say it.
She is done. Yeah. How many times do we have to see this done or adapted in another way?
Why are we so spy heavy and esponage heavy? And it seems like if it's not salt, it's a bond,
if it's not bond, it's something that franchises in jeopardy right now. It's something else.
I don't understand the fascination with the undercover spy that supposedly killed the president.
Now, probably the best one of its ilk right now, because I'm going to take bond out of it,
because that's a franchise. Taken. That was a great thing. That was a great film.
That was it. What you had the great Liam Neeson. Always up to see a 18. If you haven't seen it,
I'm telling you it's comedy. Wait a minute. You're not cats and dogs, revenge of a kitty galore,
didn't make your up. I'm ashamed to say this, but I don't know why I'm ashamed. I really have
no shame, but I saw the very first cats and dogs movie in here. What was left that was your
something until I don't know if there's any answer questions from a movie that's 12 years old,
but I just I saw that poster when I went to go see what was I think I was going to see the 18.
They had the posters up and I was like, is this a franchise? And nobody told me any relations to
the character she's named after? Is that what that was a little going for? I have no idea. I'm a
little concerned. And we've run because we've ran out of ideas. Yeah. We're kind of we're going
to the garbage pill of ideas of stuff that really didn't make any sense in the 80s and 90s in the
early arts, but now it's like, hey, it might draw a little heat. Let's make it. Well, it was announced
today. Your next Transformers film is next summer, next July. You still in that franchise. You still
in that franchise? Here was my thing with the second one, revenge of the fallen. I enjoyed it.
It could have been 20 minutes shorter. That end battle took way too long. And you can see though,
if the first film, the first Transformers film, fresh. My everything was fresh. My wife,
race, that is one of her 10 favorite movies ever. Great film. Great film. I thought, you know,
it pulled a stunt that we have. One thing I can say we dodged that bullet in one film was with
the dark night. Sometimes sequels get clunky. It's absolutely. We dodged that bullet. Even with
Iron Man 2, there were some things that Iron Man 2 I didn't necessarily agree about or didn't
necessarily thought was very good, but it was still a decent film. Tons of actually haven't seen
it. Go see it. I loved it. I loved it. I didn't have any problems with Iron Man 2. I thought
and we were far enough removed from the first one that I didn't. Did I go back and watch the
first one again? It just wasn't. I didn't feel like I was disappointed in it. Exactly. You had
the extra scene after the credits and if you haven't seen it, I'm not going to spoil it. But you
get to that scene and you go, yeah. You know, I mean, it was the same feeling I got with the scene
after the first one. Exactly. It's great film. Great film. And if you're going to have a guy that
plays that part, yeah, got the guy. I mean, Downey is Tony Stark. There's no doubt in my mind.
And if you know anything about his history, which comic, comic book fans, they're not going to
get into the drinking. They're not going to get into the heavy, heavy, heavy stuff. They kind of
did, though. But we're still gearing this franchise towards kids. Yeah, you're right. So we're
really not going to get real dark. But the way Favaro approached it, he knew he had to address it.
And I think that was the genius of it. He knew he had to deal with this because it was such a
big part of the Iron Man story. And you, you know, you bring the war machine part of it in,
which I thought was great. Although I like Cheetle, but Terence got done wrong. And also he
doesn't need his own movie. Well, I mean, you could do it animated. I could see an animated war
machine film. I mean, Marvel's Max line, which is more their adult style of comics, did a series
called US War Machines about 10 years ago. That was a series of war machines that all worked
together as a team. And it was amazing. I mean, it's it's brutal. And it's not for the kids.
But if you have a chance to pick it up in a trade, do so. I really, really liked it a lot.
But salt. Out. I can't even tell you that I would watch that when it comes on cable.
Out. The greatest of AT&T U version. I'm not getting paid to say that.
So don't forget your Sunday ticket, early bird specials. Yeah. Well, you're a direct TV guy.
We're not used to be. They are not a sponsor either. Yeah. I got the NFL Red Zone channel, which
that's kind of a weird deal. I want to get to that in a future forecast too.
Upcoming on Blu-ray today. Very excited. Very excited. If you know me, and if you don't,
you're about to find out. I am a huge fan of Kevin Smith. If you don't know who Kevin Smith is,
he is Silent Bob in the J.N. Silent Bob films, Clerks, Small Rats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, J.N. Silent
Bob Strikes Back. He also did Jersey Girl, Zach and Mary. And now his latest film comes out on
DV today. It was called Cop Out. Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan. I will tell you this upfront.
Not a great film. You're the only one that I've met that liked that movie. I liked it, but I was torn.
Because did I like it because it's Kevin or did I like it because it was a good movie?
I thought that it had moments. I mean, I didn't hate the film as a film. I just,
it's, I'm looking forward to buying the Blu-ray because what he does with the Blu-ray,
when you watch it, and not only has it commentary, but it's got a visual commentary.
So you'll see him and that's not, let's go plus. And not only that, but they're actually plugging
in when he when he when he did his press for this movie, when he did certain speaking engagements,
they're plugging in parts of Pete questions that people had asked him at Q&A's to correspond
with certain scenes in the movie. So I thought that was kind of neat. He is a very fan friendly.
Yes, he will be here in Dallas next Wednesday. I will not be there. I wish I could, but
he actually built, he is, to me, he is the king of the podcast right now.
Smartcast is doing grigillions of numbers of people. I download it every week. He has actually
built a theater in L.A., where they're going to start doing their smog casting live in front
of an audience of 50 to 75 people every Sunday. And he's a big devil's fan. So every other seat
is red, black, red, black, red, black. And the entire carpeting is done in New York,
or New Jersey devil's logos and everything else. The guy has always been the fans director.
And the fact that he can do these kind of things, he's embraced technology.
You know, if you watch the, it's funny, if you watch the laser disk version of Chasing Amy,
he starts it by saying X-foot of DVD because at that time laser disk was dominant.
Well, when DVD took that form out of her, he's like, if you hear this, that wasn't me.
I love DVD and DVD is awesome. It's kind of neat. Your other big release this week.
And I don't know if I regret not seeing this in the theater, the losers.
Also, a comic property. It's a DC property. Great cast. Yeah, they wore Burton,
Saldana, Chris Pine. Yeah, I had a great cast. Who is your Captain America? Yeah.
Looked like me. I remember getting on a major league talk. I remember the sequel to that when
it was Black Python, White Lightning movie, where it was just if the Wesley Snipes then Omar
X-foot during the adventure. Yes. To me, that movie looked just a little too much explosion,
a little too much car chase. It was a little too much of your old cliche action film movies.
That genre is a little, I will rent it. I will rent it on Blu-ray. And I will watch it. And I
will see if I, and I, and I, and I, I hate the theater experience. It's not. That's one I definitely
want to get to. I want to take probably 20, 30 minutes on that on a podcast coming up in a few
weeks, because you and I are on the same page there. If I can see a movie on a Tuesday at noon,
when school's in session, I'm good. Yeah. It's beginning to be where it's just a beat down. I
actually took my, my steps on to see Iron Man 2 at 10 o'clock in the morning.
Of it rock wall early bird. Is there more than one 10 o'clock in the day on a weekend?
There it was. It was open. It was the second day it was out. See, I went, actually,
I went to the midnight Thursday at the time I was employed. That was so that was okay.
Yeah, Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Me and the me and the boy went and how's that work out for you?
Great. There was a few families. It's family. You know, it was also, it was also half-priced,
cheaper than a matinee. It's called the early bird. Yeah. So it was good. I enjoyed it, but I'm
really out at this time. It's amazing that theater experience just doesn't. I don't know.
And that to me, and like I said, we'll get into this in a future podcast, but I will tease it by
saying this. I love my home theater system. I've worked very hard to make it what it is.
But it has also ruined the theater experience. And we'll talk about that at a different time.
I want to move on right now. We'll do a little music talk as well.
Couple of releases this week today, of course, being Tuesday is your music day.
If you are a hip-hop person, Rick Ross' new album drops today. That's a weird dude, man.
Wasn't he a cop? I don't know what his deal is, but he's like 350 pounds and doesn't like we're in a
shirt. But God bless you for having no shame, but man, dude. Yeah, somewhere I read he was a
Atlanta cop or something. I thought it's from Houston. Yeah, maybe. But your big release this week,
the brand new album from Cheryl Crow. She will be on Letterman this evening. Side note, a guy
that I went to high school with is actually going to be at that taping, which is actually over by
now. Letterman tapes about four in the afternoon. She's on the show tonight, so I'll be checking that
out and see what the new song sounds like. I have not heard it as of yet.
Big fan. Big fan of her. Yeah, you know, she, you know, all I want to do. I heard it.
Song interview with her. I think it was old VH1, so it may have some years on it. 1994. I was
flipping and she was there and I listened. Hated that song. It was an odd song, but it was
poppy and it was catchy and it was her first album. I don't know if you know where the name
Tuesday Night Music Club comes from. It was actually when she was living in LA,
she would play every Tuesday night with a group of people that just singers and songwriters
that would get together at this club and just play music and they were called the Tuesday Night Music Club.
So when she signed her record contract, she said, here's the deal. I'll do this, but these
cats are coming with me. These are the people that have been with me through thick and thin.
They're doing the album with me. So that's why she called it the Tuesday Night Music Club because
that's who it was. Did not know that. I kind of know stuff like this, but also, and that's one of
the ones we talked about this a little bit last week where albums that the hit song of that album
isn't even the best song on that album. There's a couple of tracks on that album that are amazing.
And also, all I want to do was not the lead single off that album. Her lead single off that album
was a song called Leaving Lost Vegas. Yeah, listen to movie. Yeah, but it was actually the lead
single off that album. A lot of people didn't do very well. The unplugged version of it's great.
Yeah, I do. I do remember that. Yeah, that was the lead single off that album.
You know, great. You know what? I don't, you know, just one thing about Cheryl, she's on,
I hate to, she's an up and down chick. She goes through hotness. She's very attractive.
Don't cut the hair. That's the she'll hit a wall on you. She is the female Samson of hotness.
If she cuts the hair gone. Yeah, she grows it back out. She looks great. Yeah, yeah.
Hope she keeps making music. She's battled man cancer and the whole lantern. I'm strong. That was so
ugly. Rumored Eric Clapton. Rumored John Sakata. Yeah, I mean, so Cheryl Crowe, she's a,
she's a, I like that kind of a spirit she has. Keep making music. Who cares if the radio doesn't play it.
Keep doing what you love, girl. Hey, people buy it. Who cares the radio plays it? Exactly.
Interesting story I came across today. This was not in the rundown because I saw it so late. Rumors
that by the end of this year, we will have a brand new Van Halen album are swirling as what line up?
Dave Eddie Alex Wolfie. What time is it?
As we are recording, it is 25 minutes until eight in the central time zone.
Mark my words. They'll get about two tracks on wax. And Eddie, you get what I'm told it's
over halfway done. So it's done. It's over halfway done. That is a, that is something, you know,
although Eddie's the band's publicist slash Eddie's new wife is saying I don't know anything
about this. This, you know, sources on the inside are saying, although Dave and Eddie have an odd
relationship. This is coming from, oh, don't quote me on this. I want to say I read this on
Entertainment Weekly's website. But it's getting done. And part of the reason they got off the road
was because Eddie wanted Wolfgang to graduate high school traditionally. You know, love Van Halen
I saw that line up. Yeah. Did you go to that? My wife and I were with some friends of ours.
And we of course were up in the 300s at the American Airlines Center. Opening act was terrible.
But you know what? Who was it? What about a local man? No, it was, um, I thought they
local back in Marley. It was one of the Marley's kids with Van Halen. Yes, sir. I'll hand to
God. Um, we couldn't have got, but I'll tell you what fired up the crew right? They came out.
It was, it was, it was 1986 all over. Well, it was Eddie's birthday. I was actually at that.
Almost 1984. But, but you were, you were, you were, you were young, you were young, young, young,
young. But that was, I was a little bit older than you. You were a young pup then.
Um, came out and just started rolling out the hits. Me too. And the fact that they could do the
better part of two and a half hours. And there was no Hagar in it. Made it even better.
You know, I, I am a Sammy Hagar fan. I like him. I like the stuff that he did. Some of the stuff
with Van Halen. He let me rephrase that. Loved him solo. Loved him solo stuff. I prefer.
Loved him with montage. I like some of the Van Halen. But it ain't Van Halen. Oh, it's not,
it's not David. It's not. And you know what? I like some of David's solo stuff. Oh,
eat him and smile. He was a phenomenal album. Was that Yankee Rose? Yankee Rose. And who played
the guitar on that album? Steve Vaughan. Yes, sir. And he had ladies not in Buffalo on there.
Oh, tobacco road. Oh, great. I think I've got that on vinyl over here. We look. We look. We
looked through the vinyl collection. You might find that in there. I know what the label did.
The little man, Edelman smile. But the rumor is that was the name of the album. He had the
Facebook wheels off. But the rumor is we're supposed to have a single on October.
You know, I get nervous and I want to, you know, kind of like we say, we do do wrestling on here.
There's certain people that we, me and Rob, and I know a lot, I'm speaking for the class here.
We have mental pictures of people in our minds that we want those to touch in my head like I've
got a camera right here. That I, that I, we want to go, I want to remember you like this.
And if you have children in their teenagers now, you go, I want to remember you at four.
Well, that's my deal with some of these classic rock bands. And we say that about Rick Flair. Hey,
Rick, be 1984. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I always cringe when I hear these words. Well,
Motley Crew is thinking of getting the studio for a new album. You can take the word thinking out
of it. I know that's another one going. They, some of these old bands need to lay out the hits.
I saw Motley Crew with a friend of ours two, three years ago. Great. I saw them right after
you saw them. And they were horrible. Yeah. Well, I think part of that, the weather, it was the
weather. And, and let me set this up. You saw them indoors at probably at the time, the most
acoustically sound building in the country. And then they were also only six weeks into the two
or at that point, too. It was fairly. When I saw them, it was the, what they called the root
R O U T E of all evil tour when it was them and arrow Smith. And it was in the middle of November
at an outdoor venue and out of nowhere, the temperature dropped like 40 degrees that morning.
And it, I mean, and it was bone chilling cold. And they didn't sound right now. Arrow Smith
still contain Grace Live Van have ever seen. They came out and they, they just do what they do.
Stephen the boys do their bit. But. And Malik Crew was rough to watch. But, and I agree with you
in that case where let's do the hits. Um, I really had some high hopes for Saints of Los Angeles.
Oh, the couple tracks I heard. The two singles I thought were they, the same, the, the title track,
the Saints of Angels, it sounded like Motley Crew. It sounded like that. It was missing something
for me though. When I saw them play on Letterman, I was kind of like, it's missing because it's
2009 at that point. That's a valid point. I think it's that music's era is so towards people that
are in there. They're late thirties. We just happen to be guys that are younger that love great
old music. So don't lump us into that. But I cringe when I hear the old band go, Hey, we're
getting the boys back together. AC DC black ice. Horrible. Yeah, did not do well. Did not do well.
But, but, but when Paramount calls you and says we want you to do the soundtrack to Iron Man too.
Oh, yeah. That's the closest to a greatest hits album you're ever going to have from them.
I just that I cringe. I cringe when I was young to live album. I hate that. And I even hated
it in the country. Hey, you know, murals got a new album. George Jones, I cringe because
I have a mental picture of these people in my mind of kicking ass and taking names.
And that's way, way behind them. Yeah, I agree with you there too. It's going to be
interesting to see I want to hear what this thing is. If this thing exists.
If it does exist, I'm a mom cool with that. Yeah, you know, it's Van Halen. Yeah, I mean,
well, I want to see what they can make now. That is not Mark. Mark Anthony's not involved in this.
No, he is working with Sammy and a van called the other guys. Okay. Okay. I was saying
you promote his tequila and doing his. There's a Cabo Wabo there in the Cabo San Luis. Very, very
potent tequila. I will tell you that. No, sir. It's not. No. When I used to be a drinking man,
I was a tequila man. And a Cabo Wabo will. Will not. It will wake you up in the morning.
Not tonight. Maybe a fully dressed Patron chilled me and tequila. No. Gasoline in the match.
I want to take a couple of minutes here before we get into the bread and butter of this deal.
The reason the reason you called. British Open, we said we were going to talk about it last week
as we were going into it. We are now on the other side of it. What a meltdown.
Man, when you see Tiger out there missing three footers and you know, if you see it,
I don't know what day it was. Honestly, folks, I wasn't going to get up at 3.34 o'clock in the
morning to watch it. No, sir. Love it. Love the sport. Respect the sport. I'm very novice
at the sport. Love the play was not going to get up at four o'clock in the morning on a
school night and watch the British Open. I'm just what I'm going to do it. If you see where Tiger,
he's wearing the green in the white. He's not a big club thrower. No. When he missed that
three footer and through the putter and all that, he is literally, folks, he might be done.
I'm not going to say it might be. I don't know. We're so far now removed. I mean, you realize
it's been almost a year since this debacle started. Yeah. And he still can't get his head on straight.
I've been in the one opinion. You said he couldn't. I think it could feasibly happen financially.
I think he should have taken a year off from the get go. I think it would have been terrible for
the PGA. Oh, I'm personal. Remember the rule. There's no such thing truly as bad publicity.
That you're right. You know, and that bridge, like we talked about last week, that British press
was brutal. Yeah. He choked. He literally went out there and pulled his pants down and
took a dump on the back nine. And let, oh, actually, one guy literally peed in the bushes. We saw
that on one thing real quick on Tiger before we forget a lot of, you know, Tiger's been called a
lot of things. I like what he did with Tom Watson. And some people probably don't know the story.
Tom Watson kind of made his hay there at the, the old course. It's a great course. They're
St. Andrews would eat me alive. And he's won a few of those. Remember last year, he came in within
probably five or six puts and damn near pulled that off and won that. Well, guess what? He's back
down the champions tour and it does not return to the old course till 2015. Wow. So Tiger, I don't
know, like I said, probably because we live in such a TMZ type sports world. You don't hear this
kind of stuff, but I did read it. Tiger was actually playing on 18 and let Watson come through his
group and cross the bridge, kiss the brick, turn around and wave to the crowd and put his game
on hold. Oh, very nice. I did on another. So I think that was, you know, Ty, all you're
hearing is womanizer, adulterer, cocky, arrogant plays mind games. He has respect for the game
and he has respect for the legends that made the game. Just want to get that out real quick,
hit on Tiger. Okay. I just, it's going to be real interesting to see if he can get this thing back
because I'm playing every tournament they let me in. I mean, I'm kind of the buyer. I'm on
the colonial. I'm doing the, I'm doing everything. I think doing the shell open, doing the, I mean,
you have used an open, I mean, you have to, I think you have to, I think he has to get back and
touch with the fans as well of going, Hey, I'm really not what they say. I'm not this monster. I'm
not this yada yada yada yada. And who was it? I can't remember who was a couple of years ago
that, that everybody chastised for saying Tiger's not invincible anymore. Was that Sergio that said
that? I don't want Sergio said something of its ilk. Yeah. If you're those guys now, are you going,
hey, somebody want to do some revisionist history now for me? Because he is beatable now. Yeah,
he is. He has, the personite has been revealed. One thing that Tiger had a lot over a lot of
different golfers is he had that mental edge. And I, I know we, once again, the bride and butter
of this show, the people that know what that is, you'll get this next statement. He was a cerebral
assassin. He was a guy that could get behind you, play a group behind you and stare you down from
the other green and it intimidates you and you felt it and you felt it. He felt that heat on
your back. He does not have that anymore. Sunday's in red. To me, he might as well be wearing turquoise.
That's not Tiger Woods. That's not what we made him in our mind to be. We were talking on
our Palmer Nicholas. We were talking one of the great Michael Jordan type athletes. I think
that's never going to happen. Yeah. I don't think he reaches that. I don't think he beats that major
record now. Well, unless he's still got $650 million. Yeah, but I'll probably half of that now.
But I think that if unless something crazy happens and he wakes up tomorrow and becomes Tiger Woods
again, that major record is not going to happen because he's not the pace is getting
further and further behind him. I was really hoping we'd really get to see. I'd really hope
when he'd be something special. And for a lot of years, he was something. He was mind blowing
on out there. I mean, he was it was nuts. He was just that guy. All right. Now let's get to the good
stuff. The stuff that we've we've been itching to talk about for 70 minutes now. We get into the
professional wrestling part of this now. If you are not a professional wrestling fan and don't want
to hear this, you may want to fast forward a while because the list is coming later. And we've got
a good list for you this week. So stick around for it. Also, remember you want to email us clubhouse
podcast at Yahoo dot com. Find us on Facebook at the clubhouse podcast. Some rumors coming down
the pike. Maybe we have some more stuff coming in the future. I'm very excited about where this
is going. We appreciate you being here and giving us feedback. Tell us if you like something,
if you don't like something, you know, we want to we like to do this, but we like for you guys to
enjoy it too. So let us know. Let's talk about the pay per view two nights ago. Money in the bank
live from somewhere in middle America because raw was in Tulsa last night. That's all I know. I
watched this thing. Bell to Bell. You couldn't make it. You were running behind. I was texting you
with results as we went along. Where to start? Let's just start at the beginning. We start. First
of all, thank you. WWE for bringing us back the institution known as the Spanish announced table.
I greatly. That's that's something I've always enjoyed. And it went down in the first match.
It didn't even make it. How much those guys get paid? I would say I would say everybody I know
at the table, because usually it's supposed to be Jose Latherio used to make a spin through there.
I can't remember the guy Hugo something is still there. You go merinovich. Yes, he's still there.
Merinovich not a man, not a Hispanic name. But uh,
Smackdown's money in the bank match. Kane wins after a very very strange spot. And I don't think
you and I have talked about this. We have Drew McIntyre laying on the Spanish announced table. This
is where it goes. Okay. Kofi Kingston is on a 15 foot ladder outside the ring. He is standing
on it. So you pretty much know what's coming next. Problem is he goes for the leg drop. He miscalculates
the jump and lands butt bone first right smack dab in the middle of Drew McIntyre's chest.
To the point where I made the guys rewind it. And you can actually, if you watch the footage,
you see match striker almost pee on himself. You see him go, oh, and he's pointing.
That was brutal. And I've always been intrigued when you have this many guys in a match.
How do you write this match? How long does it take you to write this match? The question I have
and I mentioned this last week on our debut slash pilot or ever want for you keeping score at home
whatever you want to want to call that. I think was in the question I've asked you was Kofi the
Shelton of this? Yes. Okay, because I know that's one thing I said I think this match would probably
be lacking is the guy that really was nuts and really took the big bump and really did the ladder
thing. Remember the years he crawled up the ladder and did his bit. Oh yeah. We were missing. I hope
the matches weren't missing that. They really weren't. I thought I thought they were very well done.
Did not see Kane winning it. Oh no, that was definitely a dark. When you text me that you
you can't read what I put out loud, but I said who booked this? Yeah. Because I think Kane is a
is a guy that that let's be honest. Glenn Jacobs, not a trouble guy. Not a guy you hear going,
well, I'm tired of wearing this stupid mask and I'm tired. It's supposedly I've been burned
and tortured. He played the bit. He went to the ring, did his business and went back to
locker room. You always got a respect to guy like that. And I don't know if you saw any of the
footage from Smackdown or any of the pictures, but big show comes out, interrupts the
straight society, which I have no problem with personally. And he says, you know, I have this
problem. He goes, I weigh 400 pounds. And this is a standard 10 foot ladder. And he steps on
the second wrong and it breaks. And he goes, that's kind of embarrassing. He goes, but I am seven
feet tall. So he grabs a step ladder. And in the background, you hear punk say, you have a one
centimeter vertical leap. What are you going to do? So he goes, no, this isn't going to work either.
He has a ladder constructed that takes six guys to bring it to the ring. It's double thick,
five feet wide. It's like the old slide ladders you had as a kid. Like a painter's ladder,
extension ladder. Bigger, bigger. That I thought that was genius. He does bring that into the ring.
It doesn't work out for him. Kane wins ends up cashing in the briefcase as Rey Mysterio beats
swagger. Kane caches in is now your world champion. You know, and actually made a little bit of
history with that. Since Vince and Vince owns everything, a lot of companies, but that Dixie doesn't.
He's notably known for owning of course, the WFWE, depending on what area you're in, WCWA,
World Clash Championship Wrestling, but he also owns ECW. And Kane was the first person
under Vince's umbrella, cloud window, dictatorship, however you want to call it. He's the first guy to
hold every single, all three of those belts under Vince's kind of kind of control. I think he
deserves it. I don't think it lasts long. I wouldn't be shocked if he drops it tonight. I really
wouldn't. It wouldn't shock me tonight being Tuesday. Smackdowns taped on Tuesdays shown on Friday.
It wouldn't shock me for him to drop it fairly quickly into the run. I just, I think we're headed
towards Kane Undertaker for that title. See, I think that's what happens to Summer Slim. I think
that casket match is for the belt. I think he holds on to it that long. And we've seen it 100. They've
been buried alive. They've been caught on fire. They've done caskets. They've done hell in a cell.
Hell in a cell. What else do they have to do with those two guys? Like on both, I like obviously
Undertaker classic bit. Probably a list will come up. Who knows? Classic bit. It's top five classic
bit of all time. I like. And probably the last of the truly gimmick. Restless for sure. Last
of those guys that that were the curtain was still shut and we kind of didn't know what these
guys were doing. And I've said it a hundred times. I'll say it a hundred more. That is a book. I
cannot wait until it is. He's got a lot of things that cats got you don't think that cat's got a
story brother. You better think again because he he's always been very tight-lipped. He's another
one. Never really. I mean, he's you know he's been vocal in the back. He is the leader, but
never really been a guy that's come out in interviews and said, hey, here's what's going on.
He has literally stayed true to the bit for 20 years. Yeah. Hey, and it's a love it. Enjoy it.
Enjoy Mark. Love it. And can't even put it in the words. Always enjoy Mark's work in the ring.
And the only belt to change hands that night.
Shamest wins the WWE title match in the cage. NXT shenanigans.
Kind of a weird deal. You're raw money in the bank ladder match. And I'm still trying to wrap
my head around this. The Miz. Hey, chick Magnet. Actually, he's passed that bit now.
I like him. I like the Miz. I like him as mid card Miz. New name. New it is.
Mid card Miz. I'm on board. That's my next time. Right there.
US title, Intercontinental title, maybe mix in a tag title. That's to me where he needs to be
with his career and probably where he will be. The guy was on the freaking world world.
Yeah, I know. Let's not just make him out to be that he was from the same same
glowing as a triple H or a Shawn Michaels or Ric Flair or so on and so forth.
But I'd one thing about Miz. I like his work in the ring. Don't like him on the stick.
He's terrible in the stick. But he's good in the ring.
But he and he teased that he was going to cash in last night and then decided not to. And
that's a feature we're going to be coming up called
lack of logic. I'm trying to be like illogic in wrestling because
you cash it in when you cash it in. That's the point of it. Why did we have to make sure
Shamist was conscious. I thought that was the bit. Whereas if he's out, you can cash in,
pin him your time. Yeah, that could have been a botched spot. That was a weird too. Yeah,
that was a weird bit right there. Tag team titles staying with the heart dynasty.
We need that. We need that. I've text you that that night. We need that. I think it's I know that
Jim Ross has been saying it through his blogs and his certain wrestling outlets for years.
We are the next road warriors. Where are you? Yeah. Where are you at?
But Vince is so apt on killing the tag team division. Well, I don't know why.
I'll be shocked if they're together. WrestleMania because what'll happen is
D.H. will turn on the other one and it'll be hard danger. But they've also got to realize that
those two can't work separately. No, they are. I just I hate seeing Nadi getting buried in all this.
Love her. Love her but she's hotter every week. She's really getting lost in the shuffle
with that that heart that heart foundation. We can't we can't put the diva's title on her.
We can keep it on Alicia Fox. Yeah. Who as we remember was edges wedding planner.
That ruined the wedding almost ruined the wedding of him and Vicki Guerrero. Is that
work? Remember the one where Cain's head popped up? That was that was lead. That was lead
and you just look over and Cain's playing Cain's big old bald heads coming up out of great. Love
love the wrestling wedding. Can never forget together. I was going to do the same thing just now
or the greatest Vince ever was that song and they used it in every wedding since Randy. Who is that?
It was just generic WWE singers because remember the first time they used it was Liz and
macho man getting married after they'd already been married and divorced in real life.
Greatest reception ever. Jake disnank had a cobra in the box and married marriage.
Match made in heaven. Match made in hell. That's a summer. This week in wrestling history.
I almost read when that happens. We are almost there. We are almost there. Okay. So let's talk about
let's let's broaden the scope a little bit. We want to go back to impact last Thursday night.
We teased this last week because we talked about this whole faction with Tommy Dreamer and Rhino
and Stevie Richards and Raven and what's eventually going to be Taz. They did use the name of ECW.
Now it was today and it was Taz but they used the ECW name to talk about these guys and
questions. Can they do that? I don't think they can. I don't think they can. I think if you're doing commentary, it's okay.
But I don't know how much we've talked about this because I don't think you were able to catch impact this last week.
During the main event, the four of those guys come out of the stands, get in the ring, start beating people up.
Tommy Dreamer, tears and MCL will not have surgery. Has decided I haven't had surgery before now. I ain't starting.
He is a walking disaster. But he is Mr. Put some duct tape and bubble gum on it and let's go.
And I will always admire him for that. He never he never took the low road. He was always, you know,
what else can I do? What else can I do? And I think Vince letting him go and not letting him stay in
book, I think was a horrible mistake. But all of a sudden locker rooms clear and the former ECW
guys are all teeming with these guys beaten up on the TNA guys. And it turns into this cluster.
I mean literally there's 30 guys in the ring. Al Snow's involved. Al Snow.
Oh Al Snow because he's booking for them. That's right. Al Snow's involved.
Demado comes out of the back. It's insane. And we shoot to Dixie who's standing in the crowd because
she needs to be on camera. And Jarrett comes to the ring. He's involved. I mean, it's just it's it's
pandaluria. Well, all of a sudden Dixie grabs the stick. And the show ends with her saying I invited
them here. As if this is a bombshell that's going to just change the face of TNA. Well,
really? Hogan and Bischoff are out. That failed. Well, I think I think that's what this is turning
into. So this is her retaliation against Hogan and Bischoff trying to edge her out. Eric Bischoff
and Terry Balea, also known as Hulk Hogan indeed. We'll never work with Paul Heyman. It will never
happen because we don't know that's going to happen yet. Oh man, it's they're baiting him. They're
giving him all he needs because we know but you know what? If I'm running the company, I'll let him
book when he was booking East, even the WWE version of ECW when he was booking it, it worked. It
did. Oh, I loved I have no, I mean, I mean, Paul goes back to the Daenerys Alliance in the NWA. Yes.
Very, very, very late 80s. Great manager. I always study looked like Jim Belushi. There's some
back. Yeah, you can pull that off. There's some background. You know, Paul was a great booker. Paul's
not a good businessman. No, he's not. He had a great East Coast type promotion. That was great.
It was if you haven't seen the history of ECW by that DVD. Great. Great. It kind of told the story.
That was a thing when you and I watched it. It was it took twice as long as the running time
was we were stopping it and we were talking about it. Then we'd go on watch a little bit more. That
was that's a that's a that's a chapter in wrestling that was almost magic. It reminded me a lot of
world class in the 80s where you had an independent that had a lot of old superstars in it. But
they were able to mix in just enough young guys like a like a Rod Van Dam or somebody like that
to make it interesting and people watching it. And I'm sorry. I know TNAs wanting that feel and
they think he can bring them that feel he won't know. I agree. I think that they got to do something
because see my problem with it right now is it's incredibly ill-timed with the Nexus doing what
they're doing. This looks like a cheap imitation of what Vince is doing. Even though I know that's
not what they were going for. And then maybe they thought the logic was well if we do this with
established guys it won't look as blatant. But to me put a dress on a pick. It's so big. This is
terribly ill-timed. And with the Nexus really starting to come into their own it really makes TNA
look bad. Well it's a bush league promotion. It's a bunch of has-bends or really a lot of guys
that Vince you got is usefulness out of and through them with the card or guys that I don't think he
could really use. I mean he does. There's guys over there and there will be guys that probably come
out this Nexus thing and if you're not Nexus you're against this. They'll be guys there that
Vince will look at a guy and throw his hands and go I just don't know what the hell to do with you
as an on-air talent. Vince has done that for years. I can sit in Rhino. Oh good lord. Rhino
stood in ECW, stood in WCW, came to W and Vince did not know what the hell do with that guy. Well the
problem with Rhino. Great athlete. Terrible talker. Terrible talker. And that's what's bad right now
we're judged on the stick. And but that's what entertains people anymore. Exactly. But there'll be some
guys in this Nexus thing that I think Vince will just go man I like your look. I just don't know what to
do with you. Lex Luger. Vince just did not do I need to make him heal. Does need to be face. Does he
need to do this? Tagged. We've tried him in a tag team with the bulldog. We've done all this stuff
and Vince finally said man I just don't know what they'll do with you. Vater. They know what they'll do with
him. Most of Mick Follies run. How many different phases did he go through? Yeah just did not
but didn't want to let him go because if he went to Bish well he wouldn't work for Bish off
anyway but I think that's the one reason why he's out of that company. He showed up this week.
Oh as he just you know he showed up as Mick Follie walked into the impact zone. ECW as the ECW
thing started to break down. He showed up on the stage and was like what the hell is going on here.
Yeah they didn't mic him but he was there and I want to say he did get involved. I want to move
forward to Smackdown now. We're teasing a Christian heel turn. That's the only way you work. If
you're gonna make him heal you don't put him in if you're working a eventual because this has been
a slow burn. You don't put him in a match with another heel because he's going to get the face
heat. So you put him in a match with Drew McIntyre? Who is the epitome of the Smackdown heel right now?
You know Smackdown has always been one of the worst book shows.
But you know what and this is the next bullet point we got on the run down and I'm gonna say this
has Smackdown's announced team Eclipse Raw's announced team.
Absolutely. As much as I cannot stand Todd Grisham I would kill you to push Michael Cole out of
the way for Todd Grisham. You know what a guy that shocks me that I think is great on the stick
and would love to see him on Raw Striker. Striker that didn't shock me and I'll tell you why because
of the background he comes from. He was really literally was a teacher who lost his job for taking
a sick day to be part of Smackdown in the angle gold medal challenge. He was one of those jobbers
and he lost his job because he like I said he took a sick day to go to the Smackdown taping. Vince
felt bad for him, hired him with the teacher gimmick. The guy is genius behind the desk.
Yeah like him hey never cared for him in the ring. Not a great wrestler.
But you know what's bad is you you really you got what you got. I would mind you know the
Jim Ross is not coming back behind behind the desk it's not gonna happen.
Really upset about them taking his voice out of the intro too.
Well when you're replaced by Gorgeous George.
No they replaced him with Michael Cole and John Cena.
That Gorgeous George is mixed in the beginning of that. That's always been there and I just
never know. No it's always been there. The vocals were taken out and one of them is Michael
Cole and the other one is John Cena and I was yeah. The thing about Striker being on Raw you
can't put him with Lawler because Lawler's not going to he can't do you got two color guys at
that point. Lane Lawler's made it clear he's never going to leave Raw.
Maybe he needs to. I think that shows already lost a little bit of identity with J.R.
not behind the desk. I think you even more of you brought it in even more with with the king being
out of it. Well I think that it's with him and Cole it's almost forced chemistry. It's like they're
trying to shoehorn Cole in there and it just doesn't work. You almost need to go back to a
three-man team on Raw. I hate the mystery person whether it's wrestler whether it's commissioner whether
it. Vince if you hired somebody put him on the air. Well we haven't even talked about this yet
when we talk about Raw. I don't think they know who the GM is. Yeah there's no telling with
Vince. There's no telling. It's just the way it is. How much longer does this go though? I think
it'd be funny if it was triple light. Because see I'm to the point now when I get emails at work I
want my lights to flash. I want a podium so I can read my emails in a separate place. Yeah I just
I just don't know how much longer they can go with this thing before you name somebody. It's starting
to get annoying. Yeah. Now I also want to talk about NXT which airs by my estimation less than
an hour from when we're recording this. One of the things we know SmackDown goes to sci-fi in
October. Sci-fi in order to keep SmackDown on Friday nights is taking all of their Friday night
programming and moving into Tuesday nights. They have made it abundantly clear that there will be
no NXT. NXT will not happen. The rumors that I have heard there are two. One is they're just
going to kill it all together. Need to. The other rumor I've heard because I don't know if you know
who really wants to take this thing over. It'll probably be Joey Styles. Indeed and he wants to take it to
com. God we've tried that before with what was it heat velocity velocity we've tried to to take
these B shows and put them on the internet and think people are going to watch them but here's my
thing. You've got a one hour show on WGN which rich originally when SmackDown went to my network
the plan was they had superstars on WGN so if my network folded they were just going to roll it
to WGN. Well another thing that would make if they do decide to do it I'm I'm not liking it but
let me let me tell you it would be kind of cool if you did have this Nexus thing maybe add a couple
of these guys. Yeah I just don't think this thing goes very long this Nexus thing I just I think
it's great. I think the light is at the tunnel and it's flashing. I I think it goes through
survivor series. You think you can go that long minutes won't blow it up. I think you're going to
have a Nexus survivor series match. I think and I this sounds nuts. Barrett's the champ before
Summer's lap. No no because of one reason and one reason only he ain't got the briefcase.
I could see I was thinking was going to happen Sunday night was that the Nexus was going to
invade during money in the bank. Grab both. Or at least grab the raw briefcase. Well now Barrett's got
the title match that was taken away from him by winning NXT back and that didn't happen I just
by the time we got to the cage and they hadn't shown up or like okay we know what's going to happen
now and I just I don't know there's teases now of I heard rumors of Cena turning heel and joining
them that would probably add a few more years to his career. However last night on raw we teased
it too much we made it look like it was going to happen and if you know anything about this business
you know if you tease something that much it ain't going to happen. Yeah that that's one thing and
I know there's a lot of people out there I'm not a scene a hater I don't hate on him Cena has to
freshen up his bit. You said someone to me earlier on the phone today and the more I thought about
it and the more I absorbed it. You referred to Cena as very hooking-esque which I agree with you
that's what the Vince is trying to do with him with the merchandising with you know kids love him.
Oh yeah. If you turn him heel is it Hollywood John Cena? No about all that. You're joining the
rogue organization that's come in. It could be I like John I don't know if John can pull it off
again. That's how he kind of broke in you know he beat Kurt Angle was face for a while you know
you know Vince went down to the store and got a bunch of throwback jerseys. But does anybody remember
his heel run? Very few. I remember him busting wraps on the Undertaker that was his first big
cube as the Undertaker as a heel. And I just I don't know I don't know if it works I think it
backfires. They got to do something I like John I don't want John to be one of these guys and I
like this next guy I'm fixing to say I love Ricky steamboat. Greatness. But a lot of people said it
Ricky was not the complete wrestler because he never worked heel. Yeah I'd know Flair said that.
Flair's but we've heard that for more than one. But I think Flair was the first one to
go down. But he never worked heel. He never worked that side of the table and I think
seeing even if it's short time maybe six you know there are certain guys I think that blinds
been been blurred too. Edge you're gonna cheer edge you're gonna boo edge he's a tweener.
Orton triple H they'll be the good guy bad guys over. But Cena's Cena's been booed but they've
never was certain guys though it's not you're never gonna see Evan born tween. Yeah you're never
gonna see rate. And I think that's how you know you're really good a really big superstar is when
you can play both sides of the of the ball. I agree. We thought maybe we'd get a triple H appearance
not so much. There's no way that you booked that for Bret Hart. There's no way. Yeah for those of
you that didn't watch Raw last night one of your matches for summer slam is a six on six or is it seven
on seven. Seven on seven. The Nexus versus John Cena comes out and says he's not I'm not gonna
join you but I got a bunch of guys that are gonna hang out with me and we're gonna have a matched
summer slam and out walks edge and out walks Morrison and out walks cake queer our truth
and then out walks Jericho and then out walks Kali and there's this huge pause and
maybe I was waiting for 10 seconds of my life. Let me in the boys. Let me let this whole triple H
surgery thing be a swerve and let me hear motorhead and I got Bret Hart. So now this matches seven
on six because Bret's not doing anything in that. Well the thing about is it you know we see these
old guys you know if you if you watch Raw every Monday or you deviant watch it when you want to
it always hurts me to see some of these old cats in the ring and Bret's one of those guys when I
see him I'm like you're the excellent execution man you're the hit man. Bret's not the hit man
anymore. Bret's gonna walk around the leather jacket and blue jeans shorts and tennis shoes and
direct traffic. Yep. Now you know what he gets the final pin. Oh I thought was gonna be my next
statement is what he'll do in that matches he'll get the pin. Yeah and after seeing a hit. It
doesn't make any sense. I don't know if that was you know Vince. We thought that was gonna be
out. What was that contract? It was through WrestleMania and and then extended it for the European
tour. Um like Bret glad to see Bret and Vince I guess if you if you want to believe it did bury the
hatchet. I like that but I don't need him at my main event so are a tight main event tight match
at Summer's I don't need it. And for those of you that didn't again if you didn't watch it
Orton is now your number one contender. It will be Orton versus the WWE Champion. I'm not saying
Shamus at this point. It could be the miss how horrible. Funny. Oh gosh. Well but we all
let's take a major and let's just completely just tear it down. Well we did that before you know
we cringe at the thought of some of these guys holding the mantle but hey we said the same thing
Chris Jericho is world champ. Chris Jericho is your first unified. I mean sure what a big
shocker that was that not that Armageddon where he went into that tournament and pulled a diamond
Dallas page and becomes the champ. And then we thought the same thing about edge when edge
pin Cena and became the the champ you just you really these things had that happened love that
rated our Super Smash. I mean if you think about it in a in a show in a match really honestly
in Saskatchewan it's a big word right there. Yeah. That just stopped down the whole show. I
by brain just froze. When when Bret Hart the only guy Rick would lose the WWF title too in 1992
was Bret the hitman Hart and we didn't even see that on television that was something you had to
buy on the old Colosseum home video. Hey the greatness of Colosseum home video. And we thought
there's no way Bret Hart can hold the WF title any any any any held it five times. So I think
sometimes it takes young guys getting the belt and we actually seeing them with the belt before
that picture goes away and we buy it. Yeah I just this is going to be a real interesting road
these next few weeks. And that's going to wrap up wrestling talk because we have to now segue
into one of my personal favorite segments because it kind of helps us get old school on you
a little bit. It is time for this week in wrestling history Cody's going to bring it to you go.
We have you know this this business is funny it's a funny business the guys the guys live
very very strange lives and strange deaths and I start this on a guy that I know that that
probable know and of course you and anybody that was in Dallas. We in on a sad note today 1988
Frank Bruiser Brody. Goodish was this the is this the anniversary of that we're going to talk
about Mr. Mr. Goodish here for a little bit was murdered in San Juan Puerto Rico stabbed in the
shower. Yep in a at a show which included Mick Foley. Brett the hitman very young Brett the hitman
Hart Tony Atlas. A lot of guys that were working for Vince because Vince had a partnership with
the man by the name of Carlos Cologne. He was stabbed in the shower by wrestler Jose Gonzalez who
went by the ring name very allegedly very very generic Hispanic name Jose Gonzalez also went on as
invader one was never convicted of this crime and has has been a Frank Goodish the guy who murdered him
never was brought to justice or anything like that and there's always been a collusion that there
was a story that there was a time when Bruiser Brody was trying to buy a world championship wrestling
here in Dallas and he was attempting to cross world class excuse me he was trying to buy the world
wrestling council that was that he came from in Puerto Rico Cologne was broke was out of money
did not want it to fall into American hands and there's been a rumor that's why he was murdered
and how do we know Carlos Cologne that is the father of Carlito and primo Cologne that is correct
you know I don't want to sit here and point fingers but there's there's a couple thing the
thing about Bruiser he never worked for Vince nope he worked for Vince senior for a short time with
the W.W.W.F excuse me but had a short run with Brunar San Martino nothing really had some water
he was a free agent Indy Top Guy did stints of course in the NWA Florida championship wrestling
AWA of course most notably known for his work at the WCCW did a lot of work in Japan and was
managed by the playboy who we're about to watch here a little while brother boy Gary Hart got
to watch a little and I'm gonna tease this too I I have 18 to you versus my house we talked
about this before they just now have WWE classics on demand and once we finished recording tonight
we're gonna go watch the little classic world class on that a little bit more you have a
Bruiser a Bruiser story or or Bruiser was a guy who really he came and went yeah he was a free
agent and he was literally a journeyman in this business he was a wrestler for hire but the
thing about Bruiser you talked about all those guys that were there every one of them addresses
that in their books every one of them including Brett the hip and coon Brett Brett's book I found
very very the thing about Brett's book it's long if you're gonna commit to hitman understand
what you're getting involved with Brett in his entire career kept audio journals and written
journals of every match he ever did and they're all in the book I mean I don't know I don't
think there's a match that he wrestled that's not in this book from the time he was 18 until five
years ago when the book was published the book starts with Stu's funeral and then we go back
to the beginning it's an incredible read thank you Misty for letting me borrow that in exchange
for my Shawn Michaels book but it make addresses it in his book Shawn Brett addresses it in his
and you never hear somebody say bad things about Bruiser well I have a Bruiser Brody story I know
my dad will smile when he because he listens to the show one of one of few just you're dad who
works for John Crowview GMC on Facebook yeah also if you go to Facebook hey Yukon's got a beautiful
Denali check it out the picture that his profile picture leaned up against that brother I'm
going to say that's good looking truck ride talent and profiling I have a store I just real quick real
quick my dad used to take me in support of Toriel and Dallas a lot of Friday nights there and they're
they're cated and industrial one of they one of one of wrestling's great venues I think the only
one still standings MSG in my opinion or memorial train for Lardow for him I remember one night we
were there and Bruiser was was doing a little heel run through Dallas at that point it was it
was it was it was probably about 80 87 about this times what's funny when I see 88 I'm like man I
was I saw him very shortly after before he died was wrestling a a guy was one man gang the great one
man gang and that's a large and so they were in a tag match they were they lost to the that gets
that's besides the point and one man gang came in and hit Bruiser Brody in the forehead with a
railroad spike that was the railroad spike was a player and I just remember me in the lady thinking
that's real and Bruiser's bleeding and here comes Abdul the butcher here comes those guys and
that that wrestling golden air to me I can't get enough of it so Bruiser got to rest yourself man
here's one kind of interesting aren't Anderson in this day 1989 aren't Anderson in totally
blanchored to make world but make not only world wrestling federation at that point history wrestling
history as they defeat demolition in a town that I've been to Worcester Massachusetts for the
for their first and only tag team title run and under the control of Vince McMahon but it was a
first team to hold both the NWA and the WWF titles I ask you Rob what do you think about their run
in the fed I will say first of all I hated the name of that tag team brain busters terrible
for me it was kind of neat because I was a I was not a guy that ever picked a side in the NWA
slash WCW versus WWF slash WWE deal I was always a guy I loved both I just loved professional wrestling
so much that I whatever I could get my hands on watch that's what I watched I understand why they
did it they're both Hall of Famers there's no doubt in my mind and I think they both go in this
year with with WrestleMania being in Atlanta and the rumors of it being an all WCW class you have
to put them in I thought their WW at the time F run it was it was a money thing and it was it was
evident that it was a money thing because it just looked it just looked so out of place at that point
you also had JJ in the office yep was working for Vince and you also had very wind them in the
office at that point Rick was kind of once again a a loner in WCW because the rest of those the
ones that could let me tell you if Rick Flair's an honor contract he jumps with him we get this
thing done in 89 and not 92 Vince wanted all four horse if you watch the if you haven't bought
a new you are a wrestling fan of this era by the four horsemen said Claire and the four horseman
it how many times if we watch that it is a great not even separately how many times if we been
in the same room and watch yeah I can't count that man yeah um but it tells we're Vince wanted all
four that was a deal Vince wanted couldn't get Rick wind him actually at the time was a little
banged up so he booked a little bit and then and then came later on as a singles wrestler but I
I've always been a Tully fan always love Tully but demolition it was and we all knew what demolition
was it was Vince trying to beat through the road warriors yeah and God bless Barry Darza God bless
those guys it was yes out of Chris Adams um Chris Adams what's his name Brian Adam Brian
yeah Chris Adams the gentleman sir that's the second week in a row you messed up the gentleman Chris
Adam I don't know why and that's one of your favorite wrestlers sir the British British sorry but um
it was Vince trying to do the road warriors and it was a really it did not go well until Vince
had the road warriors and the road warriors one of my favorite tag teams of all time and I
want to get to them in a future podcast because I really kind of want to go into that path because to
me the road warriors Legion of Doom whatever you want to call him greatest tag team ever oh yeah
F Burr I will carry it in the statement close the book it's that simple um and on this day night
our week excuse me 1993 it's it sounds like it's not a big deal but it actually became a big deal
Ric Flair defeats Barry Wyndham at Beach Blast Beach Blast I think that was because next year
we did bash it to beat yeah it became bash the beach um for the NWA title that sounds I whatever
well it's the last time that title that name was ever mentioned in WCW uh after the match
Ric Flair handed over the NWA title and was handed the WCW international title it was called the
international title at that point because I thought they didn't do that until he jumped and then
they called it the international title that was in 1993 um and that doesn't sound like a big deal
but if you if you NWA belt big deal Ric Flair NWA that was back when when Turner was was doing a
lot of changes would not would not be a factor again until NWA events TNA exactly um and the
the next year now I want to kind of kind of stop here how we do don't we're doing time we are at
the 148 mark okay um the next year 1994 bash at the beach was actually on the beach if you
remember that in Daytona Beach I do remember that well um first ever in WCW in ring debut of Holt
Kogan that was 94 yeah if you remember before Shaquille O'Neal walked him down to the ring
yep um Flair in a cage also shot an episode of Baywatch yes he did during that deal that
free thunder in paradise yeah um and the reason why that's a big deal was because everything that
Rick and Hogan did two years prior for Vince was never shown on television it was done at house shows
yep um and Rick really goes into that in his book uh Hogan did not want a job two Ric Flair and
WWE he did he didn't think he owed it to him of course Vince and Rick had had other ideas and
the evidence of that is WrestleMania eight that was supposed to be Ric Flair and Holt Kogan
ended up being Ric Flair and Macho Man Randy Savage so that's a whole other deal but um stop
there remember the MGM the yellow red and yellow Viper yep yep yep the day he signed the contract
allegedly um on Nitro did it seem like to me Ric Flair died that day he didn't die until he did
the job I bet the beach because it just to me that whole episode of Nitro seemed very
put in the cart before the horse a little bit well Hogan did in the in the fact Hogan did
win the world title that night off Rick yeah that's uh to me that's when a little piece of
Ric Flair died because when once that that hand that the mat the third time that was it yeah to
me that he was to me he was never the same and and you can say he was never the same the day he
found out he was doing the job um but once it becomes real once you you look up and you see
your opponent with that gold yeah I always think 94 was when that era I think that era that we
like to keep Rick in I think that's when it the wheels could start to coming off because any
became Hogan Lackie oh he came Hogan Lackie and then Lackie to whoever was running the company
because every the Japanese guy yeah well then you had it you know everybody was trying to make a
nickel off Rick Flair yeah at that point um and it's happening now um real quick it's on there
that do you listen do you lie month is a very slow time in WW historically
that's like getting ready for summer sleep it seems like it's real WCW heavy but I'm sure in August
starting next month it's going to be on yeah um 2002 it vengeance the rock defeat the undertaker
and Kurt Angle to win the WWE title a dangerous hate review I wish they'd bring back yeah um
you know the rock was doing this deal I'm kind of a my the top the storyline at that point I'm a
little little dicey on um it didn't go into detail about it let's one more run that's all I'm
asking for yeah that's all yeah one more run come on yeah just just work a bread heart deal yeah
um and that is this week in wrestling history all right we're gonna we're gonna move on now
last segment of the week we talk about we always have a list we're gonna the list at the end of
every episode of the show last week I did the list this week it's Cody's turn to do the list
and if you want if you have a list topic you want us to go through send it in we've said the
email a hundred times we'll say it one more time at the end of the show what do you got for me
well the pendulum as you mentioned swung to me absolutely it's my pull party mm-hmm I'm not
gonna cry if I want to you know we we talk a lot in real quick this is kind of baseball by the way
loopanella rubber tire into the season that came out today absolutely horrible run in Chicago yeah
very mediocre manager except 22 years one title yeah Cincinnati yeah I think he's he subpar at best
but anyway enough chat told you I wouldn't talk baseball this week we we hear about stadiums
all over and I'm a fan of the stadium we like to eat make no mistake there sir um and you hear
about PNC Park having sushi and Kaminsky Park just put in a wine bar really a wine it commit
really and Kaminsky really really honest to me you know what wine is in Kaminsky is it a
boon's farm intensive you know wine in Kaminsky it's old style yeah no walkies best stop it by
yeah the beast but when you think about the ballpark and it could be football it could be baseball
whatever you you walk in I know Arlington the ballpark in Arlington you smell that you smell that
food and that's when you're out in the parking lot just the onions the dogs the whatever in
spite I thought you know classics now I'm not like I'm saying not doing sushi not doing salads
top 10 classic ballpark foods universal ballpark foods that we go we don't go and go yeah I'll take
the I'll take the the California role uh we don't no no I'm tired of brisket yeah no I'm talking
the the the the meat of the matter here uh number 10 something I'm not a fan of even as a kid um
cotton candy I'm right there with you and I saw this on your list and I went really because I
when I was a kid I'd be cotton candy was kind of cool because it had that weird airy texture yeah
and really you're just main lining sugar at this point have you tried ever tried making that
no I've not started a page it's a pellet form yeah I mean I've seen them do it like at the state
fair I did it when I coached football it's it's a whip that's another story for another day too
but yeah never been a big fan of the cotton candy there's just something about cotton candy I never
got no I'm right there with you never quite understood you know um this one here I'm a fan of it
at in a in certain the soft pretzel huge fan sergeant arms of the fan club of the soft pretzel uh
I love the soft pretzel but I don't I don't do it plain if it's a if they don't have like
flavored ones that I've got to have some mustard or something to go with it how about the uh
anions not giving them a cheap they didn't do anything for us I'm on their email his brother I
get it coupon every month okay here we go the pretzel dog and on that you know what here's my problem
with the pretzel dog the pretzel dog never stays intact it always unravels on itself
um so yeah the I'm in on I'm in on the pretzel I just it it has to make the top 10 because you
see them turning when you go into concession stand they're there when they're hot like you said
side of mustard great great um this one here generic I put this on here um ice cream see with
me ice cream itself just by itself that's the house if I'm having ice cream at a stadium it's a
drumstick it's an ice cream sandwich or something of its ilk I just don't like like the I because
I hate the wooden spoon yeah um I always was a big fan of the the the team the home teams batting
helmet oh the helmet Sunday the helmet son yes sir yeah yeah and everybody did it yeah even
like the minor league they've been sold them at baskin robins for a very short sir I'm a
fan of the best girls haven't seen that have not seen that out at the temple where I was a kid
who we didn't have baseball in South Florida we have the Fort Lauderdale Yankees they did it the
Fort Lauderdale Yankees games the minor just blindly team great little stadium um cracker jack
number seven cracker jack my hand here's my thing with cracker jacks I'm not a fan
of the nut in general mentally either not a big fan of the nut oh I mean I am a nut let's make
not so long make any any bones there but I'm just not a fan like I like like honey roasted peanuts
but most of things of its ilk I'm out on and but I do I am on board the prize anytime I can
catering I mean anything from a a temporary tattoo to like a mini magnifying glass it was always
something so strange that was at the bottom of the cracker jack box and you like if you like
five of your friends you don't like figure out who had the best one try to weasel that guy out of
his toy that lasted maybe an hour but you know I mean it has its place and it's it's in the song
for God's sake I'll always thought that they they they taste burnt to you they always had a very
either they they were chewy either the chewy the popcorn was overcooked or the coffee was
something was burnt I think it was the toffee something didn't add up not a not a fan of toffee
this one here is actually I'm I'm a bigger fan of this than been most um the hamburger huge fan
of the hamburger and it's become more prevalent at games I know that there's you can buy back a
backyard burger at at the ballpark in Arlington brother have you ever been to backyard I have
been brother that's we're gonna go there for lunch one day because I'm gonna tell you something
on the backyard where but and and being a fan of the hamburger very upset that they've closed
our fudruckers over here in North Garland really yeah that is gone got a huge fan of the burger and
but it depends on the burger you get yeah I'm not gonna go to generic
concession stand and say give me a hamburger and it comes out in the old school cafeteria yeah
yeah foil real nice you've got like a stew if you've got like a stadium grill or something of
it's ilk totally in and in and totally in real in I'll tell you nothing that's not on the list um
that's made that I see a lot the the Polish sausage the the brought you could work that in with
one of the items yeah that kind of works in with one of the items um with number one as a matter of
back popcorn out if it ain't a movie theater or I'm at home that's my list with popcorn popcorn at
the ballpark like it it's just to me it's it's it's a sore thumb I don't like it um in the bucket
they give you the generic bucket the square with the red white stripes and now if it was something like
maybe kettle corn you know at it there was a time in my life that I enjoyed the work of the
kettle corn this is not that time I like the flavored salt on the popcorn you know you put me a
little parmesan garlic or a little bit of so you like gourmet pop yeah you're gourmet I'm a
bit of a popcorn stop I'm not gonna lie the cheese popcorn totally now the chocolate popcorn out I
draw the line there and even like the butter flavoring on the popcorn even in on the Cheetos
popcorn I don't know if you've had this yet no very good snack but that's another that's another
topic for the time um here this is we might need a drum roll or some music or the nacho
probably a little low on this list yeah that needs to be a lot closer to the top that's what
number three um well you skipped one though you skipped I skipped peanut my bad go we kind of
covered the peanuts thing early peanut same thing love them now they're messy yeah they're messy I
do love the peanut uh it's in the song yeah it's but I wanted to get to nacho because that is a
that is a topic that we all we love the nacho let's clarify this because
and I don't want to say I'm if I walk up to a concession stand I'm not saying give me an order
in nachos because in this kills me when I go to movies now too they give you like a tray of chips
and a bucket of cheese do the work do the math come on um and then it's that real wheels off
that we're that we're it's is it cheese it can you call it cheese it's like with that old uh
little scissors commercial that's the cheese and it's just bouncing on the counter I just
were qualifying this with the the subcategory of what is known as the super nacho or in some places
the supreme nacho the deluxe nacho where there are other things involved and I'm the guy see I'm
kind of picking when I eat certain things nachos is one of them when I eat nachos I'm very cognizant
to make sure I get rid of the chips that are that are that are clean I will dig those up from
the bottom maybe flip them if I can't get to them I'll eat those first because I save the chips
that have all the stuff on them for the end um in real quick side note on nachos um first
major league ballpark to offer nachos was Arlington stadium was it really that is where that was
before my time here that was where these the nacho started so great um in on the nacho um don't
really sometimes like the substance they use for the cheese on the nacho but always been a uh nacho
fan um it's good the super nacho haul out better get the salsa that you know you get the the lettuce
it's a little bit I'm not to be the not the lettuce off if it's not a salad I don't want lettuce
on it the nacho needs to be an event I agree now this one here this is your wheelhouse sir
this one here I enjoy at the ballpark at the house on the lake everywhere but church uh beer
and there's wine so it's okay um I am a a beer I like I like beer to Tom T. Hall song somewhere
in there makes me a jolly good fellow um and I don't feel like paying seven seventy five for it
yeah that's gotten out of control which what I do keep the souvenir cup um the thing about
ballpark beer it's never cold it I never get the idea it could be cold when it's poor by the time
you get to your seat it's not brother I get I don't buy from the guy that walks around I actually
will get up you might get it colder that way though I get up yeah but I'll sometimes I'll I'll get
up and I'll I'll go get my own I don't really care for the but I'm also not a fan of the stadium
vendor guy yeah if I want something I'll go get it yeah um I just yeah it's just I to me and
of you know you get your flavors but some places a little bit different and I brought up old style
because that is beer in Chicago especially at Wrigley Field the tradition is hot dog in a
stale old style so beer is very big at ball games hey love the idea 17th inning stretch cut it off
I don't think these things have to turn into and that's a discussion I want to have down
the future too is I think we're getting close to the day we're one of the major four kills beer
sales altogether yeah but beer is a part of being at the ballpark and I enjoy it and I've had
a beer with this gentleman here in the ballpark several times more than once and number one the
undisputed champion if you can debate it don't mind the hot dog yeah and and it's and I'm also
I'm not going to go to a generic and get the hot dog I'm going to go to the place that's got
the hot dog 7-11 big my hand more of a fan of the go-go tequito huge fan we have a mutual friend
that got me hooked on the go-go tequito who is a ball gentleman who will be back in our midst
here in a couple of weeks the go-go tequito I've not tried the breakfast roller yet I haven't gotten
that brave but the hot dog is pretty much what we think when most people including my wife and
I'm sure you're wife and a lot of people's kids and wife you you want to get that hot dog that
stadium hot dog but it's kind of getting getting tricked up you know places like San Francisco for
instance sushi sushi dog not the same San Diego lobster dog there is a minor league ballpark and if
you know me know my big fan of the Bob and Tom show and they did a bit for a while where they
were getting strange stadium foods there is a minor league ballpark what they have done stay with
me on this take a twinkie now cut it down the middle long ways hot dog in it cover it in cheese
way out but I'll tell you this not a fan of the twinkie see I know I can't have them anymore but when
I could oh I was a big fan but they said the combination of the salty in the sweet there's just
nothing like it in the world but now but yeah like lobster dog San Diego in oh in on that anything
lobster I'm in huge see the hot dog is changing and of course here at here at and our neck of the
woods the the the broad wars to pull a sausage to smoke sausage the the the grilled onions and
peppers the hot dogs kind of went from slap some crout slap some mustard there it is to being an
event and sir the ball is in your court you're on the clock that's my list if you think you can do
