Checking Audacity Levels, we're good, and here we go.
It is seven o'clock central time, which means it is eight o'clock on the east coast, which
also means it is five o'clock on the west coast, and it's Tuesday.
It is Tuesday, so the planets have aligned properly, which means it is time once again for
the clubhouse with Robin Cody welcome.
Hello, hello, hello, it is October the fifth in the year of our Lord 2010.
I forgot to do that in the last couple of weeks.
I just realized that the other day, can you believe it's already October?
I can feel it when I walk outside.
I love this time of year.
I love got that got that football weather at nip in the air.
It's like I said on my Twitter the other day though.
Love it from the not being so hot standpoint, hate it from the keeping my pool clean
sample.
Yeah.
Leaves are falling.
Oh, and they are falling quickly.
I am Rob as always, I am joined by Cody Greetings.
Got another pack show this week.
I, it's something about this time of year, you know, three minutes left in the first quarter
heater up eight and three seasons, whatever sold NBA team sold, bought by the first of
the gentleman that owns little Caesars, bought the pistons also, also the red wings and
the tiger.
I thought there was a, I thought there was a limit on that.
I don't know.
I think I got away with it for years.
No, he only owned the Panthers and the Dolphins and the Dolphins.
He never had any counts.
I thought he had something in the morrow.
No, I thought you could only have two, two, I think you had a piece of the morrow, you
didn't have the whole thing.
Yeah, something like that.
Okay.
Before we get too deep into this thing, we've got to go ahead and do this.
Corrections from last week.
I finally listened to last week's show today.
I've had a long, long seven days.
I didn't hear anything.
I did take some notes that apply from last week's show to this week's, but they weren't
mistakes.
No, I didn't have anything on my end either.
We're good, we're clean.
Another, another perfect game.
Yeah.
I think what's our ERA now about a 1.3.
Yeah, I'd start on the Ranger's rotation.
I think if that's the thing, we've said that for years.
We'll get to that here in just a moment.
But as we do, we always start with sports because I want that one, not the other one.
Hello, America.
I'm seeing the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport, the Triller victory and the
agony of defeat.
I have agony of defeat when I walk around a lot.
The human drama of athletic competition.
Jim McKay believes so as a skier goes tumbling down the hill, they did like a whole documentary
on that guy.
It's time to do sports talk as we always start and as we always start, we've got to get
on the boat and head on out to a little place where the action is fast and furious.
Yeah, very, very mediocre action so far to start this year on NFL Island.
As we start, before we get into the NFL Island, you see this first little bullet point we've
got.
Last week we talked about Jeff Garcia making an appearance in the UFL.
This week, they're advertising don't take home pepper.
Are we just going to take every retire?
You know, I'm always like him, always liked him, always liked him, always thought he was decent,
but man, it was like he got old overnight.
I've got his dolphin jersey made Minnesota great, but also when you can throw the ball up
in the air and right, Randy Moss could just jump up and sag it out of the air.
That gets you a lot of, a lot of various credentials on that deal.
But good luck to him, you know, hey, I'd want, you know, I, if they had one of the
these teams, say, close to us, Dallas, whatever, I'd go and maybe see some guys I hadn't seen
playing a while, do something, no bones with that.
Yeah.
Let's go.
It's head on out to NFL Island.
Yeah.
Like you said, a very mediocre.
Yeah, there's just a lot of, not a lot of substance as far as games this week, but I
will say this, they were, they, you know, they were on a buy, but there is one undefeated
team left in the national football league.
Oh, don't get her started.
And it is the Kansas City Chiefs at 3 and 0.
They go to Indy this week, but Indy who's looking their wounds, Indy looks bad.
I don't know what it is about those guys.
That's great, great segue.
Indy looks like something's wrong.
And I think a lot of that is this is now Jim, Jim called Well's team.
Yeah.
I think last year you still had Tony Dungee's team in the off season.
He's made so many changes on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
They're starting to show they can't run the ball.
Indy's got to get number 29, Joseph a die going for them to Garso not getting it down
either.
Two and two Garso means boy.
Two and two, you know, a lot of people are two and two.
Yeah, there's, there's quite a bit of, yeah, of 500 after four weeks.
San Francisco falls to 0 and 4.
Unbelievable.
These guys, these guys are terrible.
But listen to the division Arizona, two and two, St. Louis, two and two Seattle, two
and two.
Are they out of it?
St. Louis, I was watching a story earlier today Bradford thinks they're going to win the
division.
Speaking of San Bradford, wins two in a row, 261, 23 for 41, two TDs, I got a question
for you, sir.
Yes, sir.
Can this kid be a star?
I'm going to tell you what I was, and I've been very vocal about this.
You know that I was very concerned about them starting him out of the gate.
I was, I was like, you can't put Bradford in and start against this team who's very,
very bad, offensively, line wise.
They said he came in there acting like he's played in the league for 20 years and just
took command of the huddle right now.
I'm buying it.
I'm, I'm buying that he can be, that he can be the guy.
I mean, nobody thought that Kurt Warner had any charisma and look what happened.
Yeah, I like, I like the kid.
I think he's poised.
I hope he, my whole deal with him is his, his durability has always been a, a question
with him.
I hope he doesn't get a one, a flash in a pan, one hit, wonder, top stick, morning.
Suspended players coming back either this week or next week, Brian Cushing returning to
Houston.
That's a big deal for them.
Yeah.
I mean, he's a, he's a starving NFL defensive rookie of the year last year.
Ben Ralflisberger returning to New York.
He's a starving NFL defensive rookie of the year last year.
Ben Ralflisberger returning to Pittsburgh with, they come on, let me ask you this.
And this has been talked about and bannered about, but you and I haven't really talked
about it so much.
If love this song called Battleground from NFL Films, if you are the Steelers, do you
start him given, given what you've done in the first four weeks of the season?
I think if you still had Dixon, healthy, yes, Charlie Batch, he's not going to win you
much.
I don't think he's going to win you much more games he already has.
I'm shocked.
They're three and one.
I had them at two and two.
Some people had them at one and they were, and they were inches away from four and
out.
Yeah.
I mean, you got to, I mean, what an ending to that game.
That organization, if you want to look at model organizations, they're one of the top five.
I agree.
They just win and they get the right people in there.
Yeah, but they, you talk about a team that's got fans all over the planet everywhere.
Yep.
The pits because of 70s.
You want to talk about, you know, Dallas Cowboys being America's team.
Let me tell you something, my friend.
I'd put the Steelers right there next to him.
Exactly.
Because everywhere I go, there are Steelers fans everywhere.
Somewhere.
But yeah, and then Santonial Holmes returning to the New York Jets as well this week.
The receiver's another receiver.
It helps them.
Yeah.
I would suppose.
Kind of.
This is kind of weird.
They mean Tom Linson.
Welcome back to the way I fell out of his mind.
This was good.
I think this might be.
I'm never, I'm not going to say super bowl to me.
It's way too early for that.
He's a guy.
I could see him getting come back, come back player of the year.
If you know what, I'm not going to debate that because, I mean, we've got a Jets tattoo on
his legs.
Yeah.
I mean, he's committed.
I had one problem with him in the AFC title game that year in New England.
When I thought maybe he should have gutted it up a little bit and went out there and played.
And maybe it was just that change of scenery as that was what he needed to get his focus
back.
A date line, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Oh, hello.
NFL player executive director Demar Smith sees new signs that owners are preparing for
a football free 2011.
What did I say last week?
I said, it's not, to me now, it's not if it's when because we've heard no forward progress
on this collective bargaining.
We've heard no forward progress on the talks between the players union and the owners.
And again, NFL, if you're listening, get ready because America's not going to miss you.
And he has the, he had the support of Packer quarterback Aaron Rogers there that was urging
fans to take the player side in this argument, saying that they were going to be a very tough
bargaining chip in the signing of a new deal.
Let me ask you this.
How much of the fans really going to affect that?
Really?
None.
It's all money.
Bottom line, it's all money.
Then this becomes NCAA Island into, it will be because it's like we talked about last
week.
The networks aren't going to hurt.
Yeah, it's not.
Minnesota defense event, Jared Allen was told by the NFL, and you heard about this.
Big old Jared Allen.
Yep.
Tone down on his sack celebration, which is him imitating a calf roaper.
He was also informed by the league that if you go to a knee during a celebration, it's
considered unsportsman-like conduct.
Does that do anything for you?
I'm just league office.
That is a release from the league office there.
Okay.
You go to a knee and that's considered excessive celebration.
So he's going to have to tone it down.
So the no fun league is strucking again.
If you heard every America's favorite quarterback, Michael Vick, out one to two weeks.
Boy.
Did you see that play?
He's tough.
He shot.
Yeah.
Right at the end of the first quarter.
Right at the second quarter, I think it was the first quarter, and that right arm got
folded behind him.
I'll tell you what though, I was watching the game at Sports City Cafe in Mesquitexas
as I was preparing for a little road trip Sunday afternoon, which we'll talk about here
in the last third of the show.
A lot of people cheering on the Michael Vick.
Yeah, and I think, you know what's funny is, they're to me, and this is real quick.
I don't have a dog, a pet, I don't have that kind of stuff.
I don't want to see anything abused or for no good reason.
There's still some psychological things there within.
If you would torture an animal, I just, well see my thing is, I don't know if for my
standpoint, if he's ever been contried enough, what's up back, you doing all right, man?
Andrew's stopping by.
You know, and I've always, I agree with him there in the chat room.
I don't do that a whole lot, but this guy was on the decline of his career when things
went awry and Atlanta.
Yep.
There was just something about, he was defensive, figured him out.
Yeah, there was just, he was on a decline there.
I like Kevin Cobb.
They're going to give him a shot, but I still think, San Francisco has to eventually
win a ball game.
And I think that could happen Sunday night at Candlestick Park, at that time, at the beginning
of the year, that was probably a pretty attractive matchup.
Yeah, but, I mean, Michael Vick, because it wasn't like any of us laughed at getting all
of our words.
Now listen, for picking up, this dark horse, hey Derek, good to see you brother.
Now I did listen to some Philadelphia sports talk Monday, I had to.
Oh lord.
And one, now don't, this is the following, the following comment is not any representative
of the clubhouse, or it's entity, or LLC, one of Philadelphia columnists or host said,
does this mean we get to go Barry Vick and hang him and hook his testicles up to batteries
now?
Because he's no good does.
Going for what he did to the dogs.
I'm but wow.
So speaking of earlier in the broadcast, Indianapolis beat on a 59 yard field goal by Josh
Shoble.
That's a big old kid.
Jackson, but anytime Jackson will win a game at home and get some butts and some seats
out there.
Pretty good.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Jackson though.
Jackson though.
He said Indianapolis, I'm very confused.
Oh, Indianapolis, they beat Indy.
Game was in Jacksonville.
Maybe if they start winning more, then keep that team.
I still think it ends up in L.A.
Dark horse up day.
Not me, you know my theory.
I think that's him.
Dark horse up day.
Houston it three and one.
Yep.
San Francisco, O and four.
Seattle, two and two.
Yeah.
We're hanging in there.
We had a raider in Charlottes dark horse, finally, finally lost three and one.
So everybody involved in the dark horse in New York go from one week to the next and
they last week last week, they couldn't, they couldn't get a playoff this week.
They just exploded.
I watched late night.
I watched NFL.
Remember the old show?
It's still on it.
Susie Colbert was she the wet, but she, she don't mind Susie Colbert.
She hosts that NFL edge.
Works game.
It's on right before.
There were, you know, them sacks on Cutler.
I would have a concussion too.
When everybody's blocking you and you're getting pounded into like that, week five dinner
plate.
As we mentioned earlier, it's already a week five.
I know.
That's one thing is you all, you look forward to, and all of a sudden it's like, wow, and
then you just, the thing about the NFL season, man, it moves.
It moves fast, fast, um, Kansas City at Indy, Kansas City trying to see about that.
And they're, and they're at Lucas Oil Field.
They are at home.
Yeah, Indy coming on the loss.
I only put this in here because let's see if Sam can make it three in a row, St. Louis
at Detroit.
I think he can't.
Detroit's bad.
New York Giants at Houston.
You know what?
That'll look like a dog.
We can go.
That'll be a really good game, I think, sir.
Tennessee at Dallas.
Hey, old, hey, old oilers, they tie, they tie, I don't.
San Diego at Oakland, a little AFC West battle in there.
Of course, Sunday night mentioned earlier, uh, Philadelphia at San Francisco, Monday night
game.
Once again, another AFC East opponent as the Minnesota Vikings, Brett Farve returns
to New York, plays former team, the New York football jets.
That's a win.
Yeah.
And you're by week teams this week are Miami, New England, Pittsburgh, and your dark
course Seattle.
So it goes into a little weekly by the list there is that just your highlights because
I need to see where my bucking ears are.
I just picked out some games.
I've got it in my white day planner.
Yeah, they're coming off of by as well, Tampa.
And that is the boat.
Hey, we're loading up the boat ship, transistor radio, and we are headed off NFL Island.
So that's, wow, that's all of NFL this week.
That's all of NFL fairly quickly.
So let me do some some quick editing on the fly as we get ready for the net.
The other half, the other half of the coin of football, yeah, as the kids like to say,
do the kids actually see that?
No.
Okay.
What a day Saturday.
You're not a real let's get there because we've got it.
I'm going to give you your props well, well, well.
Here's one side of a coin from Saturday after you and I watched this game in its entirety
from half-teen minutes left in the first till zero left in the fourth.
Did I, did I, did I age a little bit during that game?
You did.
It doesn't seem that don't know Cody watching Oklahoma football with Cody literally
in one series, Landry Jones is the greatest quarterback Oklahoma has ever seen.
And in the next series, Landry Jones is the worst quarterback I've ever seen.
But that's where, where we will start our college football talk there.
And what is it that you said to me at the end of that game?
You said something very poignant to me at the end of that game because we're going to
play the other side.
This is the guy said to beat you looked at me and you said, it's going to leave you had
that.
You called it.
I said this thing was going to be a comedy of errors.
It was sloppy football.
Oh, man, it was sloppy football.
Sloppy football, but oh, you does win 28 to 20, which is still more than I thought than
that.
Yeah, I said the four points was right about right.
So, you know, led by Demarco Murray, you could definitely say that kid said in papers
that he was going to have a big game because this is his last one.
He's a senior, you know, 134 yards of total offense to rushing TDs and one of them on the
tightrope.
Yeah.
That clinched it.
Yeah.
I mean, you and I both said, though, when it happened in real time, he stayed in.
Yeah, he stayed in.
That's the beauty of incident replay.
And I love it.
What a beauty is that game.
That holds the pageantry, the stadium, the colors, the fair backdrop, they can never
like it.
They can never move that game.
There's not another neutral site game.
I don't know much about the world's largest cocktail party in Jacksonville.
That runs a close second.
Yeah.
But between George and Florida, if people don't know what that is, that's here in a couple
of weeks.
I love that game.
It's a great venue.
I can't move it to Jerry World or I know one time Houston was rumored or home at home,
great game.
You can't home at home that.
Yeah.
It's still that hard hitting.
A lot of big hits in that game.
Texas.
If you're not hitting the panic button after UCLA, it is slammed.
It's been 10 years since the last time Texas was not in your college football top 25.
A couple of quick kids here last time.
Okay.
They're not in the top 25.
They're quarter back.
Gilbert was nine years old.
He's as old as my son.
Wow.
Chris Sims was the main Texas quarterback.
Chris Sims is now a no longer in the NFL after spending a two thousand times season with
the Denver Broncos.
Oklahoma beat Texas 63-14 in the Red Rebel rivalry behind six touchdowns from Quentin
Griffin.
Oklahoma was six and no when a twin undefeated season national title this year.
Folks.
Nobody wants to play Alabama.
Let's talk about that here.
I don't care.
Oklahoma.
Oregon.
Trust me.
Yeah.
You know, there's a funny one.
Purdue, Oregon State, Minnesota, Georgia, Notre Dame.
We're all ranked in the top 25.
Geez.
Now, these teams are combined eight and 15 this season.
Wow.
So 10 years is a long time, but don't worry.
You're still in there.
Fast lane was still on the air when the fast lane was on the air.
I was just to that very important age in an adult's life to be able to go in an establishment
and you and I had done each other very short.
Very short lane.
I had met the pastor C. Brown at that time in my life.
Yes.
So yeah.
Simpler time.
Simpler time.
Yeah.
Great game.
Don't move it.
Just my opinion.
All right.
We want to talk about who showed up and who didn't.
Yeah.
Let's go.
All right.
Who showed up we always start with first and foremost and again, for those of you listening,
this part of the show, Cody has not seen.
So anything any reaction you hear from him is a genuine reaction.
First team.
First team that showed up, let's go down to Waco.
Yeah.
Baylor.
55 to 7 over Kansas.
You know what?
I'm going to start keeping an eye on this team.
Yeah.
They are local this week.
They're playing Texas Tech at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday.
So that's three.
I don't know.
Games in three weekends for the Cotton Bowl.
I don't know if they do 92,000.
Yeah.
But Robert Griffin, 26 of 36, 380 yards, three touchdowns.
Add to that.
Eight rushes for 64 yards and another touchdown.
Kansas is a football team that's in flux right now.
New head coach, Turner Gill, taken over the program.
Memo to Kansas.
Give him time.
Yeah.
You got to give him time.
And I'd like to go back and see what wins the last time Baylor scored 55.
Seven different receivers.
Four of them with at least 60 yards.
Yeah.
Sickle Bears.
You know what their total offense was?
678 yards.
And Kansas for a team that beat me.
I mean, is this sure as Kansas that bad?
But for a team like Kansas that beat Georgia Tech with with an option offense that most
big teams like that struggle against an option offense, all all up.
Excuse me.
Baylor had was a was a running quarterback, mediocre wide receivers.
And they made Georgia look like Alabama.
Baylor and Baylor, no turnovers.
Eight of 14 on third down, 32 first downs.
They have a quarterback, Kendall Wright, who was one for one for 50 yards in a touchdown.
The oldest passer rating is for that.
850 points.
Zero.
I had to look at that twice.
I'm like, is that possible?
Tough day for the basketball school.
Imagine what would happen without 10 penalties for 100 yards.
And they were seven for seven on place kick longest kick of 50 yards.
Well, also showing up this week.
The Spartans in Michigan State with a 34-24 win over Wisconsin.
That's a game.
You beat a ranked opponent.
I've got to put you.
Yeah.
And that especially when they're 13 spots above.
Yeah.
I had something in the microscope about then that's coming up.
You upset the 11th rank with Wisconsin, 34-24.
It's at home.
I know things like an emotional rollercoaster coach had a heart attack.
Didn't had a blood clot Friday night.
So that could be back this week.
And you would think they'd be down over the emotional drain.
Hey, man.
444 yards of total offense, Kurt Cousins.
20 of 29, 269 yards, three touchdowns, two picks.
But they were two of three on fourth down.
Exactly.
And never trailed at all the entire game.
Now they tried to let the Wisconsin in back in that game.
Bet your bet your bet your bet your bet your bet your bet your.
Also showing up this week.
Man, I got two more.
Three more.
UCLA 42-28 over Washington State.
565 yards of total offense.
Yeah.
Kurt Cousins come from after the drumming of Texas.
I mean, we kind of you kind of called them as maybe a little bit of a dark horse on
the pack 10.
I'm just what?
Eight of 14 on third down.
Make average 7.2 yards apart.
Yeah.
And that's a good offense.
You know, their coach up there.
He was on a hot seat there.
He recruited very well.
Actually, he had a decent recruiting here.
Which hasn't done anything really for you this year.
But, you know, he was on a short leash up there.
He had to win some games.
I think they're a low bull team.
Emerald bull.
Holiday bull.
I don't see them.
Ram the ball well.
Yeah.
They run the.
Jonathan Franklin.
30 rushes for 260 yards.
And that kid just come on the scene in Austin.
Derek Coleman.
15 rushes for 185 yards and three touchdowns.
That's insanity, sir.
I'm also showing up this week at the expense of my gators, Alabama.
You remember last week I was talking about, can you put the entire team?
Can you put the team on Ingram's back?
Nobody can beat this team.
Nobody.
I texted you after that game.
Do you want me to say happy we held them to less than 40?
The only thing about Alabama that could happen.
That could happen.
It's happened.
We've seen better teams with better numbers than them.
If you go back, there was some great Oklahoma teams back, 06, 05 that just, they nodded
off at the wheel.
You know, and I think maybe the only thing that's going to hurt Alabama is Alabama.
If they lose focus of the final deal, if they fall asleep at the wheel, I think they're
too good coached for that.
Well, you know, 273 total yards, less than Florida, but the yards they get are effective.
Yeah.
You have 31 points on less than 300 yards.
My last team that showed up this week, Iowa, 24 to three over a team that I had to pick
the conference in Penn State.
Yeah.
That's not looking real good right now.
Yeah.
I don't know what's happened here.
But hopefully he won't be back next year.
They've got to get that thing going in another direction.
But Iowa, Penn State lands losses to Iowa every year in Iowa.
As shaky as that big 10 is, they could always backdoor that championship.
You never know.
Ricky stands the 16 of 22 for 227 yards, a touchdown and a pick, six rushes for nine yards
in a touchdown.
They were averaging six yards of play, 16 points between these two teams in this game.
Yeah.
Could they come on a little bit?
Good.
I'm reserving judgment for a couple of weeks.
Who didn't show up this week?
Let's go down the college station last Thursday nights.
Texas A&M, 38 to 35 loss to Oklahoma State.
Jared Johnson, 40 of 62 for 409 and five touchdowns, four picks.
Yeah.
That's going to kill you every time.
He did a good job of keeping both teams in at the one that killed him the most was at
one right there before half the time.
And he's running out, and he's scrambling, he stops, and he wants to throw, and he does
it.
And if that's run back for a 70 yard plus touchdown, you're up 21 to seven and you give
up 28 on and I said this that night in the in the lock of the week, a segment.
I said that still water at night.
You can beat him at 11 o'clock.
You can beat him at 2.30, but something about that stadium when it and the sun goes down.
And they wore the black jerseys, almost to me, Oklahoma State is Oklahoma's tech.
Yeah, Lubbock's a tough place to play at night, still water.
So A&M had almost 200 yards more total offense on a hundred and six place.
I didn't see anything in the Oklahoma State that made me go, they're going to win the
big 12 South, but got to watch out for them.
I'll tell you who else didn't show up.
And this may get me a little bit of a hot water, but I'm saying it, Ohio State, 24-13
went over Illinois without prior, Bouserman was one best.
How's that Bouserman?
Is that right?
Bouserman.
One for two for one yard with a negative 45.8 pass rating.
Less than 40 yards more offense, they were 4-12 on third down.
It's a big 10 foot ball.
It's your slow.
Are they still your number two team?
I want to, I think Oregon should have jumped them.
I was pretty shocked when I saw OSU with still at your number two.
Oregon.
I'm going to say something.
I watched that game too.
Oregon tried to get that thing away, it's a little bit for them to get some wheels
on the car.
Or dude just came out, Guns blazing, or stand for yeah, came out Guns blazing and could
not.
They just couldn't keep it up to 60 minutes.
I know one thing I did notice.
Are you going to, I got one more, I got one more actually, I got two more who didn't show
up.
Michigan.
Even in a 42-35 went over Indiana, they had to fight the whole game over a team they
should have drummed.
Offensively, they're decent.
I think they've got a weapon that once you get deeper in the year, especially a great
as a coach.
One thing that Ohio State does have is a good coach, he'll defend that and he'll stop
that.
Denard Robinson, 10 of 16 for 273 touchdowns, 19 rushes for 217 yards and two touchdowns.
You cannot rely solely on this kid, you've got to balance that off.
I think they gave up 568 yards.
They're defense is horrible.
They're defense is horrible.
And they only had 574.
Yeah, I think you're going to see a guy with four losses get the husband.
Ben Chappelle, Indiana's quarterback, 45 of 64 with 480 yards.
And they made him look like them.
They made him look like top gun out there.
Yeah, I'm going watch.
I saw that.
Those numbers.
They were two of seven on third down.
They gave up two of four on fourth down, pun of the ball five times.
Yeah.
Wow.
And my last team who didn't show up this week as who my gators will face Saturday morning,
whoo.
Louisiana State University, you've got to rely on a real fluke penalty to win a game against
a very bad Tennessee team.
They gave up 16 points on 217 yards.
Yeah, the LSU.
That's a fan base that's, then I've got something about that in the microscope.
That's a fan base right now that's on.
It's either, it's near the cliff is how that thing's been going for them over there this
year.
Um, remember, no scoring at all by either team in a second was just, it was just another,
but remember when that not too long ago was your SEC title.
Yeah.
These two teams, but hey, LSU, you're still 5 and 0.
Then of the day, you're undefeated and everything you plan for your team right now is the light
still at the end of the road.
And we don't have you at night on Saturday.
We got you first taking the morning, so get ready.
On the fence this week, we start Florida State, 30, 40, 34 to 14 went over Virginia.
This team needs to be ranked.
Yeah.
I mean, as much as it pains me to say, this has been a total different ball club that left
Norman Oklahoma.
Oklahoma woke them up.
You said that last week on the show, 421 yards, so law offense on 71 plays, ponder, 17
of 29 for 172, one touchdown, no picks.
Yeah.
Didn't even give barely.
It was like 305 yards on total loss.
And that was a game that I thought Virginia might, I mean, I didn't, I just, I thought maybe
especially with a, with a new coach that you might see them at least come out and try
to do something.
Virginia, three of 13 on third down.
That's a bad program.
Your main time is 16 rushes for 122 yards and two touchdowns.
Yeah.
Finally, other team I've got on the fence this week would be Auburn, 52 to 3, but it
was Louisiana Monroe.
Yeah.
Cameron Newton, 14 of 19, 245 yards on 14 completions, three touchdowns in a pick, 505 yards total
offense.
The average is almost nine yards of playing.
Yeah, I like Cam Newton and that two penalties.
Yeah.
And Auburn, there's something about that coach that, I don't know, man, he just, he's
getting everything he can out of a roster.
It's Auburn, traditionally, he's always got in the Alabama leftovers.
Are they still at top 10 team giving this opponent?
I don't know.
That's my question here.
That's, you know, playing the SEC, you don't have a lot of stinkers on your schedule.
That's Auburn's, that's Auburn's Mulligan.
That's Auburn's Mulligan.
Yeah.
You know, I mean, we'll see how they deal with Alabama, I bet.
That's all I've got.
Who showed up and who didn't?
Yeah.
A little rapid fire.
This into a couple of quick hits from the college football microscope fired that up over
weekend.
Hey, no points.
No, no, no.
We're not going to talk stats here.
Just some things that might have some people in the chat room that might agree with me on
this.
Um, first of all, I want, I wish actually, I don't want you to, but I wish you could play
taps for who, Uga.
That poor dog has been put down.
We've covered him up and we buried Uga, Georgia, we'll must champion on the clock.
Georgia.
Brother, you're one and four, Owen, three in the SEC and you just lost two, Carl O'Rado.
A bad color.
The, the drags of the Colorado of 99, 2000.
This is a, Georgia, I don't know if I know Mike Rick's a great, he's a great man, great
character.
Um, this, this, this university, this athletic department needs a wake up call from somebody.
But on the other hand, if you're Georgia, do you give the keys to Millmush, champ a cat
that's never coached a single game?
I would.
I mean, do you really go that well, you were, how, how much farther do you gonna fall?
True.
But you know, Georgia, this will kill him, but Georgia normally, uh, normally recruits
very well, but man, I gotta say he's gone.
I don't see much saving him, um, especially if we come in there and drum them here in
a couple of weeks.
Yeah.
Um, and then we'll stick in the SEC, uh, LSU, man, I don't, is there, is there, is there
just a hole in the counter where the panic button used to be?
Yeah.
I mean, I don't, and they're five and no, but it's a, it's, they're about as a five and
no, as an Oklahoma's a five and no right now.
They have skated.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They've skated on some stuff.
Is it the, uh, wins a win for Ross?
Yeah.
But, uh, less miles, you know, I did hear something that was kind of stirbing, uh, quarterback
went out with six seconds, final play, had one play called and that was it.
They didn't work.
They didn't have another play to call.
I think this team's badly coached.
I think they've got the tools, bad leadership.
I think this guy was giving the range to a program he wasn't quite ready for.
I don't think eight and four and eight and four and still water, you get, should get
the keys to LSU.
Yeah.
I'm not going to.
Um, I'm going to shout this out to somebody I know listens in archive.
Texas tech.
How you doing out there, guys?
I was state just took you out behind the woodshed.
Fifty two, thirty eight.
I've never seen Texas tech beat that bad sucks to have the under in that game.
Yeah.
This is what we, I had them in cliffhanger for a reason.
They, he is going in there and he's, I think he might be a one year guy there.
They look, they look so inept on defense and offense.
They might not be able to make a bowl game.
They're bad.
They're bad on offense.
They're bad on defense.
I've been to some radar chat rooms and I actually have some friends at our tech, exes,
as you would speak.
And they're the same way that the university is just, it's all the life that Mike leach
but hey, at least the, at least your boy there at SMU, what was his name?
Craig, at least Craig James got his way.
Yeah.
Hey, Texas tech, your football team sucks, but I guess Craig James got his way and his
kids playing.
So that's what's going to happen to them on Saturday morning.
Who they got?
Baylor at the state.
I got caught.
No, I got that.
And just one more real quick.
Florida fans.
Keep your heads up.
That's me.
Don't get.
But you heard me earlier in the show.
We held Alabama in a less than 40.
I didn't go into that game expecting.
I noticed in some, sport us some college football radio, I listened to, man, just, man, just
chill out, man.
Let's just chill for a second.
You know, you're more patient with this thing.
You're going to have a number one recruiting class coming in this year, Urban will rebuild
it.
You'll have another ring in three years.
People will rebuild it.
And, uh, good, good, good, good, said way this song.
How bad it's Tennessee.
When you're a head coach and you don't know how many players you have on the field,
yeah.
I thought we should have, he'd do the same thing.
We thought we should have substituted the same times he did three comes on.
You don't sit three.
Three comes off.
Don't send four back in.
Yeah.
It was just.
That was a stupidest looking.
I've seen Pee Wee games run better than that.
You run the Pee Wee games better looking than that.
I just, that was a sad deal.
And that is called football microscope this week.
Something I had on here that I wanted to talk about.
Is the field weak enough for Boise State to back into the conversation?
Well, I think a lot of, but I think Boise State needs some people to lose.
They've got to get TCU off their heels because if you notice TCU's jumped up to
where two of their remaining opponents are ranked.
You've got Utah ranked and you've got Air Force now in the top 25.
So if you go with TCU having beat a ranked Oregon State at the time,
then beat a ranked Air Force, then beat a ranked Utah.
Their schedule carries more weight, yeah.
So Boise State, I don't, I don't see if you have Alabama, TCU,
Oklahoma, I'm pulling them out.
People out there, it's undefeated Ohio State Boise State.
Number one, you've got a cluster of math.
Yeah, second of all, Boise State to me, they're the last team that even gets
consideration and played anybody.
Virginia Tech, not that good.
Oregon State, man, they've got three losses.
You know what I mean?
I just, I don't know.
I hope not.
I mean, I don't think you give an Alabama Boise State if you're
leading anybody from Boise, listening.
You don't want no part of the tide, man.
I'm telling you, nobody wants any.
If you don't want to find out who you are, come on down to Glendale.
I've never seen a back two back set like that.
I mean, you hear what they're calling them now, fast and furious.
Yeah, because that Richard's a beast, both of them are.
Let's go to a little update.
I am getting trashed in the, I have an unbelievable,
and we're talking about lock of the week now.
I have an unbelievable, possibly insurmountable,
two-game lethal now.
My magic number is five, sir.
I think I'm going to, to, how can you say it?
I'm going to, too much towards the, the, the shock, the upset.
You took Clemson plus three and a half.
Miami beat him by 14.
I took Florida State minus 12 versus Virginia.
And one by 18.
Yes, sir.
So I am now, first time one of us this season's been 500.
I am two and two.
You are one and three.
And as we go to lock of the week for this week,
just real quick, SMU won again, defeated rice.
TCU almost covered.
They did.
That's 30 points.
30 points.
They win 20, 17.
It's almost like when the, when the cat has the mouse,
but it doesn't want to kill it just yet.
It's kind of, and then all of a sudden that game went from three
nothing to 27, nothing out of drop of a hat.
Do want to send a quick shout out while we do this.
Ranger fan rob.
The, the great.
The great Ranger fan rob is in the room.
Really?
Say something, my good buddy.
The clubhouse, the clubhouse chat rooms are quiet.
Yeah, people get talking to talk about whatever.
I don't think it passed her sea browns even in there anymore.
I don't know.
He may have, he may have bolted all re-users in here.
Back them.
This week's games would love to hear some feedback
when people in the chat room may think so.
All right, I got my pencil.
I'm ready to go.
Starting Thursday night under the lights in the little apple,
man hat in Kansas.
All right.
You have Nebraska at Kansas State University,
the Wildcats 5-0.
So you got 5-0 versus 5-0.
Nebraska minus 12 minus 12.
OK.
Nebraska, this is Nebraska's first real test of the year.
It's a road game.
It's that night.
And I wouldn't show Texas too much of your bag.
I was going to say, yeah, you might want to hold some stuff
back this Thursday.
Another one.
Sarah Q's at South Florida.
Hey, now conference game for South Florida indeed, sir.
You know, at home, we called this in the college preview
show South Florida getting a bowl.
You know, nobody's expecting a whole lot from you.
SFU minus eight USF USF, why do keep saying that USF minus eight.
A big one, big one in Ann Arbor Saturday morning
is Michigan State rolls into Michigan.
Ooh, always a fun game to watch.
Barton at Wolverine Michigan.
This is probably their first real test of the year.
Michigan's Michigan State right now raw emotion.
You always got to watch out for a team like that.
Michigan though, being at home,
being at the big house minus four.
Really?
Yes, sir.
A team that I will be in attendance
to see played next week, Utah at Iowa State.
May or may not be by yourself.
Utah at Iowa State.
Utah to roll them, but the line is Utah minus six.
Going to Ames, Iowa.
Interesting.
Alabama at South Carolina.
Ooh, boy.
Up as the machine rolls into Columbia.
Shockingly, Alabama's only a six and a half point favorite.
So Alabama minus six and a half.
This is their last test.
Unless they, I just need to tell you one thing real quick,
Alabama, tough to beat a team three times in a row.
About their championship game, we'll say that.
Yeah.
Wyoming at TCU, this is your Giggle score.
Live at Ames Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas.
TCU minus 34 and a half.
Woo!
So, here that's that.
LSU at Florida.
It's an early game, Saturday.
Yeah, it was 2.30 and all of a sudden it's 11 a.m.
Yes, Florida's sporting a seven point favorite right now.
So Florida minus seven.
I can't pick that game.
I think I can.
Because that's my, that's my team.
I think I can get to open up in that deal.
No, it's what you do.
UCLA at Cal.
Los Angeles at Berkeley.
Isn't that the, is that the gauntlet?
That's the gauntlet, yep.
Cal, minus seven and a half.
I have a hard time believing that, but I know.
Cal is a seven and a half point favorite.
Yes, we got Cal.
A lot of big games this weekend.
That's why Cal is a little bit longer than normal.
Hey Brandon, Brandon's here.
Yeah, at the cotton bowl.
Yeah, Baylor at, Baylor at Texas Tech,
but Texas Tech's the home.
All right, kind of shocked.
This is almost embarrassing to tell you really
where you're as a program.
Texas Tech's, there's a two point favorite.
So Tech minus two.
And buddy, you don't think there won't be
some police and coral gable Saturday night.
Florida State at Miami.
Can I have a zero, zero tie in that?
And you sporting a six point favorite.
So my, I'm a minus six.
Couple more here.
USC at Stanford.
Stanford's now beat them two of the last three years.
Stanford, I think, they could bounce,
looking to bounce back after a loss at Oregon,
where they were kind of, they were kind of embarrassed.
I thought Stanford getting eight and a half.
So Stanford minus eight and a half.
Hosting the University of Spoiled Children.
It's not like the island of Lost Boys.
And Tulsa at SMU.
Saturday night, Tulsa at SMU, SMU minus seven.
Why the tight be four and two.
And remember, these are the points for it
as they happen when we're out of the air.
If they move, we don't count it.
And live at Jerry World Saturday.
Texas A&M hosting Arkansas.
Jerry Bulls, what I call that.
The hogs roll in minus seven.
Coming off a buy.
So A&M, watch it.
You're getting a mallet in the boys
where you were torched through the air
by Oklahoma State Saturday.
Let me taste them.
I think this, I'm actually debating on this one.
But could be wrong.
But yeah, maps, maps preseason starts tonight
along with the heat along some few teams.
Thanks, Mr. Jordan in the room.
Brandon was lady was watching Glee.
Glee.
Was this the one with Lady Gaga or?
I think there was something real weird
about this time.
Halloween episode.
And that's the game.
That's the game.
I'll go first.
Man, I've got like six over that.
I know.
I've got a lot of them.
They're so really good.
They're Beatles on Glee tonight.
Oh, very nice.
Hope my wife remembered.
You know what?
I saw a team that I think more Lee's beaten.
And they're just not very good.
I'm taking Baylor.
Give me Baylor.
Let me look that up here.
That's Baylor Tech.
So you're saying Baylor plus two?
I'll take Baylor.
So Baylor, if Baylor loses by a safety push, I push.
And I don't know, man, Tech looked bad Saturday night.
And I don't have any other way.
I think that's a real, actually, that's a really good pick.
I don't have, I don't have any.
And my wife's here, hi, honey.
And you're a brand of degrees with you.
I just Baylor over there.
There's just something about that team.
We said in the college pre-show six wins,
this is a game that I had them losing.
I don't know, man, I'm Tech's bad.
I think they're going to explode.
Tech's a bad football team.
And you know what?
I'm taking the champs.
I'm taking Alabama minus six and a half.
I think they're going to drown South Carolina.
I think that, I think that we ought to do an overrun
or how many fumbles and picks Garcia.
Because they're not kidding.
I think six and a half is insane.
Yeah, that's it.
I don't know, for some reason, man, that look,
when I saw that it jumped, that was the one I went really.
They're not even a double digit favorite.
Yeah, that's, I mean, you're really your only double digit
favorite that you've got on the list.
There's two.
You've got Nebraska and TCU.
And I'm almost afraid to take TCU at 34 and a half,
because they didn't cover 30.
Yeah, they almost covered it.
They didn't cover 30.
There's some big, some, you know, Texas Oklahoma
in bi-weeks.
There's some teams not playing.
So, so, well, breaking news here,
heat guard to Wayne Wayne leaves preseason game
versus pistons in first quarter with a hamstring,
reporting by Wendy Nix, who's at the game in Miami.
So Ranger Rob, hey, Bama by 110, I could have went there.
I mean, when I saw that six and a half, I was like,
man, that seems low.
You know Rob.
I do.
Yeah, I do.
Yeah.
That's our good buddy.
Glad to see you in town, brother,
at least by a computer.
Ranger Rob, you just did a lead in speaking of Ranger.
Oh, hold on.
Hold on.
We got music.
I got musical music.
Oh, yeah.
Actually, we've got something before that.
Yeah.
Thank you, too.
Everybody in the room in listening right now,
we thank you for your participation in listening.
You ready for your sponsor theme?
I am ready.
Listen.
Yeah.
Your wheelhouse, sir.
That's something up my wheelhouse.
This is a part of the show where we talk about the great people
at John Crow, Pontiac, GMC, and Canton, Texas.
I was in Canton, Texas.
Obviously, you got to go there over the weekend.
Sunday.
If you have allergies.
Did you do, sir?
Did you do, sir?
And you do.
Man, I've just great time actually drove by the John Crow lot,
picked up these specials.
Right now, like I said, new used, whatever you need,
they've got it.
Right now, 2007, GMC, Z71, 4x4 with leather, power locks,
XZ71 to do a look at Chuck.
Fix their radio, CD player, 24.5.
That's not bad at all, sir.
And once again, with any car you buy from them,
if you say you heard about it on the clubhouse with Robin Cody,
get your first old change completely free.
Scott Free, that's like a hundred bucks.
Yeah, it's a hundred bucks in your pocket.
In your pocket.
Also here, 2002, excuse me.
Like I said, new used, 2002, Sierra, GMC,
2500, 3 quarter ton, 4x4, 454 motor, 1 owner.
See, that's huge, too.
You're going to buy a pre-owned car.
1 owner means you're not getting somebody's slept over
since somebody else bought it.
10-5.
That's not bad at all, sir.
10-5.
That's a hot one.
Call Randy direct on that at 903-567-4131
or toll-free at 1-888-831-4185.
And make sure you tell them you heard about it on the clubhouse
with Robin Cody.
Get those free oil changes.
Free oil changes.
Also 2006 Pontiac Saltis Convertible Red 2-door 5-speed.
That'd be a solstice.
Solstice.
Solstice.
Solstice.
Solstice.
Like a summer solstice.
And you know, only 26,000 miles would take that for a 2006 car.
That is very low.
That was less than I bought my 169 plus tax time and license.
Once again, hey, that's a few ladies out there in the chat room,
not in the chat room listening.
That's a man.
That's a chip car.
Indeed.
It's a good looking car, too.
Yeah.
Good looking car.
Oh, we always say here, no haggle, no pressure.
I've bought, I actually saw them sell a car before
and I've had bought sandwiches with more hassle than what they
are to buy a car from them.
Call Randy and sales or get with can over in finance
so get you taken care of.
Thank you John Crow once again.
Absolutely.
We love those guys.

Great website.
Check it out.
Outstanding.
All right.
Now let's get into the next thing.
We're only going to play this a couple more minutes.
That's it.
This is the MLB playoff edition.
And thank you to the gods of baseball.
My braves got in.
Yes.
Not by much, but we got in.
You've got some newcomers.
You've got some old timers.
And you've got a new kid on the block here.
Indeed you do.
That's a good way to sum that up.
Go over some matchups here, starting first,
as the San Francisco Giants, the Atlanta Braves.
It's been a long time since we faced those gentlemen in the playoff.
It used to be a division game.
Indeed.
It used to be a rival.
Yes.
There's a fan of Ranger Deer.
You know what?
When I ever talk Ranger, that is the great Rob King.
Right there saying Bobby Cox for president.
Rob, I know you probably didn't listen the first part of the show.
If you go back and listen to it, you do something on Facebook
about the game Saturday.
I didn't give you too much on it.
San Francisco Atlanta, great matchup.
San Francisco has great starting pitching and relief.
I don't know.
Who you like there?
I gotta go.
You're gonna go the land.
I gotta go.
Because it land.
It's that whole Bobby's last run.
To me, this has been so much stable.
This is the close one.
I don't know, man.
San Francisco is a good team.
I'm gonna go San Francisco on five.
It's gonna go five games.
I'm gonna give you San Francisco on five.
All right.
Over on the other side.
New York versus Minnesota.
You know that the twins have struggled with the Yankees in years.
You're getting the Yankees on right off the bat,
which nine times out of ten that doesn't work out for people.
They seem to get that out.
I think New York could sweep them.
Minnesota, they're scrappy little team, but the Yankees are saying.
Yeah, I think it's time to click that one big storyline there.
AJ Burnett left off the starting rotation.
We'll be in the pin for that series.
Wow.
On the other side.
Cincinnati versus Philadelphia.
Philadelphia right now to me is the best team going.
I think they're the best team in the league.
Cincinnati, Dusty Baker, hey, it was great.
It was fun.
There's another team to me that fits in the same ilk as them.
They're a fraud.
If they were a big team, they lost to them.
They couldn't even beat the St. Louis.
Wouldn't have lost everybody else.
They wouldn't be in the playoffs.
But, Jake, what you can get, sir?
Philadelphia there.
I'm not saying sweep.
I'm saying 4-1.
I think Cincinnati gets one.
Lastly.
And here we go.
Yeah.
Texas at Tampa.
Get ready.
Put your seat belt on.
Tampa's going to be a team.
Tampa's the team.
I think if you're a Yankee fan, if there's any out there,
I think that you probably think a little bit better
of not winning that division.
I think Texas matched up better with the Yankees.
Do you?
It was Texas versus New York.
Maybe that almost the big giant corporation versus the mom
and pop.
I don't want to diminish the rangers and what they've done this
you by any means.
But it compares.
Yeah.
I mean, you're wrong.
I have to go with Tampa.
I think everything stems off what Cliff Lee does game one.
And you could start a serious, worse way.
Yeah.
A little thing that's going on on local radio.
And I think I've heard a little bit of it on the NSPN.
Ranger fans upset that all of their games are day games.
1235 tomorrow.
Yeah, but you're not going to get primetime at the Yankees.
Exactly.
And that's where I win 27 world titles.
And then you can be in primetime television.
If I'm a Ranger fan, I don't care if they play it too
in the morning they're in.
Yeah.
And almost everybody's got a radio at work anyway.
Yeah.
I've got to go Tampa there.
I just don't know this team.
How many games?
I'm saying four.
I think it could be a...
Man, I don't know, dude.
I think if Tampa wins the first two in Tampa,
I think you're forced to get Cliff Lee off three days rest
at that point in time.
Yeah, you're right.
And I don't know anything can happen Saturday at four.
Okay, it's five.
See, my thing is...
I don't think I'm going to go five.
We drilled this home last week.
And Rob, you're absolutely right.
Win a series and you get primetime time.
That's right.
But again, Ranger fans, this is good enough.
Yeah.
I'm happy.
If you're a Ranger fan, you are ecstatic.
And even if they get swept, which I don't think they will.
But even if they got swept, this is good enough.
Yeah.
You can hold your head high.
You finally got the wheels back on this thing.
Yeah.
And let's just speak.
But I'll take Tampa.
I don't want to say...
I'll take Tampa in four.
But one of the really weird things about this postseason baseball.
San Francisco versus New York.
If they were to make it to the World Series,
they've not played since 1962 at the Polo Grounds.
Wow.
Because the Giants used to be in New York and they let you know.
So that'd be pretty cool.
New York baseball.
Yeah.
Playoff baseball.
It's here.
Oh, wow.
Very excited.
Well, we've got one more thing to cover in sports.
Hockey, free season, basketball, free season.
Well, wait until...
Only one hockey store.
I think Chicago got three to one to win the cup again in Vegas.
Three to one?
Yeah.
Wow.
That's not fun on.
But I do have some music for your next segment that I just put in.
So give me just a second here.
Again, thank you everybody for tuning in.
Yeah, we're here each and every Tuesday night at A on the East Coast.
Five on the West Coast.
Any other time zone to do the math.
And, you know, we'll throw a special audition out on you every once in a while.
Yeah, we're once in a while.
We will do that.
So let's get into your next piece.
NASCAR.
The NASCAR chase is on.
Yes, it is.
Always been doing a little update for those guys since their playoffs.
Since they're a little...
I guess you call it a playoff.
Well, well, well, well, well.
Guess who jumped up in that point leads Sunday.
Tell me.
Jimmy Johnson.
He is eight.
This is bad for your sport.
He has eight points ahead of, uh, was one-time leader, Denny Hamlin.
Followed by a guy that I would love to see win a championship.
Kevin Harbick.
Don't have any anything vested in any of these guys.
Did he use to be sponsored by Sonic?
Yes.
That's his car.
That's okay.
That's a bush car.
But it is.
It is.
His ridges.
Sonic was always on.
Yeah.
Somehow.
Um, Kevin Harbick, of course, in third.
Carl Edwards in four.
The great Jeff Gordon at five.
Oh, you turned around on me.
Kurt Busch.
Kyle Busch.
You like the brothers.
Can't really separate from each other.
Weird.
Um, Greg Biffle, who won actually Sunday.
Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, and Clint Boyer, who, after the huge penalty, he
don't have a chance in Hades to win that title.
Does he have a legitimate complaint?
Because we kind of went into this a little bit last week, but not real team play.
To me, NASCAR rules are just a little out of control.
It's a little out of control.
It just, you never know if you're breaking.
Every time you win a race, you ought to wait for two days to see if you won the race.
Because there's just always something going on.
Um, and we get this thing going again at a Johnson track.
That's the Pepsi Max 400 rolls in the California people.
Not a fan of the Pepsi Max.
Never had it.
Yeah.
But that is, uh...
How much stuff can we cram into a soda?
Exactly.
But that is, uh...
That is your NASCAR update.
All right.
So...
And that's going to wrap up sports talks for this stuff.
We go normally again.
Normally we would go to News of the Weird, and I've got one item that we'll get to at the end of the segment.
But this is now our random thought segment.
And I got a little, little, little theme music for you, which I think you'll quite enjoy.
Oh, man.
The King.
Thoughts of a fool.
Yes, sir.
A quick update from last week's segment.
We last week's random thought segment was about the rock.
Yes.
All this month on Classics On Demand, it is rock tober.
Rock tober.
So it's the best of the rock all month on Classics On Demand.
All month on Classics On Demand.
All month on Classics On Demand.
Very excited about that.
But you brought something up to me on Monday.
That's the ball.
That kind of hit close to home with me.
This week's random thought subject.
Very simple.
Special event retail is what I'm calling this.
The last two Sunday nights, I have been to special events.
Last Sunday night.
Win saw the great rush, great concert.
This past Sunday night, in case you didn't figure it out from the end of last week's show,
I was able to attend Hell in a Cell, which we'll talk about here before too much longer.
Here's the thing.
How long have we been doing live events in America?
A long time.
How come we can't get?
How come we can't get merchandising stands right?
When I went, that granted rush was a little bit more streamlined.
But it was still this, everybody descends upon the merch table.
And there's like three people working there.
And it takes you an hour and a half to get, I just want to teach her.
Another part of this random thought is concessions.
Concessions stand same thing.
I don't know if we need to trick it up as much as we've seemed to do with that.
Certain things that you don't need to buy at an event.
Nachos, peanuts, I'll go pizza.
I don't need pizza at a concert.
Maybe you don't.
I mean, what I was at Hell in a Cell, you know what I bought?
What's that?
A pretzel.
A pretzel.
That's going to hold me over.
So I can get out of the arena and not pay $35.
It's just one of them deals.
I just think it sits one of those that concessions stand food weird.
The one thing that the weird, if anybody in the chat room wants to testify to this,
she's with Nachos out, out, out.
Is that even cheese?
Is that even a dairy product?
We're seeing my thing for the cheese.
I'm sure it is.
And we'll get, you know, we, Rob was live at Hell in a Cell, Sunday.
I was there.
And now we're going to talk about that experience.
Stick around.
We're going to talk, please stick around.
Stick around.
After it and shame and talk.
Yeah.
But there's because I see the Nachos to me remind me of when I was a kid and I worked at it.
It's with the hall of that stress.
Yes.
When I worked at the movie theater.
That's what it reminds me of.
So I'm kind of okay with that.
But we don't need, you know, I'm at a concert.
I don't need to be trying to eat a piece of pizza.
As you're lying around in your tummy.
Yeah.
You can't yell free bird with pizza.
Exactly.
You can do that.
You know, you know, at Hell in a Cell, they had all the other barbecue.
Why?
No, I'm here to watch a pay-per-view, my friend.
Yeah.
You know, this is what I'm here for.
Cell beer, cell popcorn, cell cotton candy, cell soda.
You know, and I go to the merch tent.
There's a cheese-like substance.
It's a cheese-esque.
Cheese.
But I go to the merch table at Hell in a Cell.
If you know anything about me, you know, I'm a big fan of the Big Show.
How can you not sell a Big Shell T-shirt in 2XL?
You only have an extra large.
Broke these a bigger shirt.
The guy's 7-foot tall, weighs 400 pounds.
I can't get a shirt.
That's a double X.
I mean, I'm not 7-foot tall.
But I'm sure they had a Ray Mysterio in a 3X.
Yeah.
They actually did have John Cena in Double X.
Yeah.
Yeah, I just want to double X.
Sure, because I need to have a little bit of looseness on me.
Yeah.
It drives me crazy.
Yeah, that's, you know, and I don't know, man.
Can session stand, worker, planner, builder, developer?
Keep it simple.
Dogs, popcorn.
I'll go nachos on.
It deserves to be there.
But man, can we do something with the cheese?
I like the cheese.
When you see arteries, I think that's what it's clogged with.
Is that type substance?
And on that, you go to a Homer cut in the middle of, yeah.
That's random thoughts.
Oh, very well played, sir.
Random thoughts.
It's just a quick thing.
Before we get out of random thoughts, I do want to give you one weird story.
What's one thing that we've always complained about when it comes to the National Anthem?
People making it their own.
Seeing the Nang song.
Let's talk about the Philippines for a moment.
And they're singing our song over there.
In the Philippines, a land of passionate singers.
Taking on the National Anthem is about to get a little more daunting.
Get it wrong and you could land in jail for a couple of years and be fine more than two grand.
And a band on the improper singing of beloved land.
An unpatriotic display of the Philippines flag is a Senate vote away from coming law.
After the lower house voted in favor of it, 196 to nothing.
And so if you trick up their National Anthem, you could be headed to jail.
Who was the coach that went on the basketball floor and helped the girl get through it?
Mochi.
Mochi, great mochi.
Great mochi.
That was important.
Yeah, you're in the playoffs.
Yeah, kid, I'll give you a bogey on a kid.
If she don't know, I don't get her out there.
Yeah, a lot of that.
The extending the song.
I was at my son's Peewee game and they did an old recording of Leanne Rhymes doing it.
That she took a song that when made it almost 18 minutes long of it.
In the yodeling she used to do it.
I was like, oh god.
Two years in jail and up to a 2005.
Yeah.
I saw that today when I'm going to throw that out there for the show tonight.
We've already talked about our website.
Make sure you check it out.
www.theclubhousewithrobincoti.com.
You can get to Cody's blog.
I just put up the newest chapter of Secret Origins, which I thought would be done with today.
I have my blog up the 10 guys I think could be your future.
WW Champions is still up and on there probably won't make it past the week.
So if you can go on there and check it out.
Just won't be the newest one.
Just leave a comment on that.
That's a conversation piece and that top 10 guys on there.
You can check that out.
You can visit our sponsors from that.
You can take a take a trip over to racetalk39x.com.
See our big buddy, Big Don over there.
Yeah.
Need to get a hold of him.
Got some stuff we want to talk about with him as well.
At Twitter, I am yes, that Rob Irvin, E-R-V-I-N.
And for some of you old school 80s wrestling fans, I am Cody, PS Hawk.
Love that.
Played, sir.
Alrighty.
Let's get into act number two of this deal.
Well, we are moving right along tonight, aren't we, sir?
It is time for movie talk.
Big movie death this week.
Yes, for sure.
Well, last week we had Eddie Fisher, father of one Carrie Fisher.
This week, this past week, we have the death of one Tony Curtis.
Father of one Jamie Lee Curtis.
Yes.
Two famous families lost a member this past week.
Great actor, great singer.
Got to do a little singing in his time.
Always liked his work.
Great stuff.
Yeah.
And I was talking about this.
One of the legends.
We remember we were talking about this at your house on Saturday
with a guy that we were watching the game with, who was a listener.
Yeah.
And he said that, you know, you're getting to that age now
where people you remember start to pass away.
Got that whole sense of your own work.
That's how I feel about when some players get, take it back to more of a,
not a somber, such a somber note, but in a Phil Hall of Famers.
Or anybody that gets to Hall of Fam, you're like, and here we go.
I remember watching him.
I remember when I was seven and he was in the Super Bowl.
And all of a sudden, he's done.
Been done four years at that point.
What do you know about Emma Stone?
You know what he says?
Now she's doing some X-Men stuff.
Am I correct?
She also...
No, Emma Frost is next.
Emma from character.
Character, okay, I'm sorry.
Emma Stone was the character of Jewels and Superbad.
Okay, I do know.
She was also in Zombieland.
Okay.
She has officially been offered the part to play Mary Jane Watson
in this Spider-Man reboot.
And she will jump at the chance to do that.
And I think she's perfect, personal.
Yeah.
I think this fails.
She's currently in the movie Easy A and D.
I've also a little rumor on that movie.
I've also heard that Venom will be reintroduced in this movie as well.
Can we do it right?
You've got to...
I just don't know Philip Seymour Hoffman is your guy to do that.
Venom?
Yeah.
That is a rumor.
Come again?
That is a rumor that's all over some movie sites.
I'm not going to...
You pump mine all pump yours.
I'm not going to start throwing some stuff out.
But that's kind of the rumor there.
I thought Venom was...
Toe for Grace.
Love him.
Be the 70s show.
Like in some romantic comedies.
Stay away from Eddie Brookes.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, same thing.
Go play the penguin.
Yeah.
That's the role you need.
This is the movie I'm looking forward to right here.
And now it's two days ago.
Hangover 2 goes into production later this month.
This thing is fast-tracking.
We are going to Bangkok.
Four?
They're not saying what...
Oh, so they're going to be top five.
I think we know what Bangkok is famous for.
Yeah.
What we're doing right here.
Hey, love the first one.
I just don't know if you can channel that again.
I thought the first one was serviceable.
I think it had been too hyped for the time I saw it.
Because I personally...
I'm a hot tub time machine guy.
I thought that movie was genius.
I thought it was better.
But some people who argue the hangover was better.
I did...
Again, I don't get...
Zach?
Zach Snyder is...
I've heard the name.
I know he's done some stuff as far...
Hasn't he done some sci-fi stuff before in this...
This kind of his ilk.
He is a guy that was responsible for a little movie.
I like to call 300.
That's right.
Also responsible for Watchmen.
Okay.
He will be directing your reboot of the Superman.
And that is a script being written by Chris Nolan, if I'm not correct.
He and his brother.
He and his brother.
He and his brother.
You are responsible for both Batman films.
I just...
You know, I think you could do an animation with Muppets.
They'd be better than that reboot they did in the last time.
Superman Returns.
I could see Gonzo in the air.
But they'd pass on his chest.
I would rather see Super Grover.
Chad and I wouldn't saw Superman Returns together.
And he's more of a Superman guy.
I have always been more of a Batman guy.
We go see this thing.
And I'm looking at him the whole time going, really?
That was one of these strangest films.
Plot holes big enough to run a subway train.
That lost money, correct?
And don't give me line.
Yeah.
But I think that...
The farther away I got from that movie,
the bigger the chasm became between it and Batman begins.
Yeah.
Batman begins great film of...
Great people.
I don't know, man.
Superman, I think some for some reason,
since we're in an age of such special effects and different stuff going on,
he might be hard to pull off on film.
If you just don't have the right script, right guy, right villain,
could you know it's going to be Lex Luthor?
Because you're not going to fire up Doomsday.
You're not going to fire up those types of guys in this first version of a reboot.
I've always said about Clark,
is it's really hard to keep that going?
Exactly.
Because that's Superman.
Yeah.
I'm looking that up for you right now, by the way.
I'll tell you what,
a channel in a four horseman real quick.
The girl was calling me,
Sec Rateri just a little bit.
We're not there yet.
We got one more thing to deal with.
And this came after I did the original one sheet.
You, John McTairn in this.
Does that name mean anything to you?
Other than the diehard.
He directed diehard.
He directed Predator.
Going to jail.
For a year.
He's convicted of illegal wiretapping.
Wow.
This come from.
Why is he tapping wires?
I'm not exactly for sure.
Trying to be John McClain.
I'm a little confused by that,
but that came down this morning.
He is going to jail for one year.
Adios.
As we start to talk about,
let's see.
Okay.
Here we go.
Budget for Superman Returns was 209 million.
And it lost $10 million.
So I thought that was a movie that was in the red.
By the time it left it was just under,
just a little over 200 million.
I don't know if anybody could save that.
Maybe couldn't get a woman.
Maybe.
Maybe it's a long lot of stuff.
Movie release is this week.
Great.
I had to put this on here.
Because you knew I was going to save that.
Cody not again.
Cody not known each other a long time.
And there's a promo that Rick Flair cuts on the horseman set,
where he says the lady was calling him secretariat all night long.
And you just kept calling it secretariat.
No, you said Sagittarius.
Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking.
Like, for every time,
it's like a month.
The secretariat, the story of the famed last horse to win the triple crown,
starring Diane Lane.
It's a Disney deal to make money.
I'll see it on a DVD.
I'll Netflix or something.
I'm not a horse movie guy.
I like that.
Hey, I'll spend a day with the ponies.
But not on a movie.
Not on a movie.
Not unless it was about Jimmy the Greek.
Well, hey.
That's the second week of the row.
You reference, Tim.
Life as we know it.
For this is this week.
I can't say his name and not make it sound wrong.
Mr. Fergie.
Yeah, do we?
Does they wind up?
Their friends have a kid,
and if their friends die,
and they wind up as the godparents of the kids,
and they have to raise the kid?
Does she keep making the same movie over and over again?
My thing with Katherine Heigel,
is that she seems very fake to me.
Yeah, I just, I don't care for her.
I just, I see her on letter a minute.
She just doesn't seem like,
I don't look at her and go,
hey, she's a movie star.
Hey, she seems like if I ran into her in the street,
she wouldn't like try to mace me.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
My soul to take releases this week.
This is a brand new film from one West Craven.
This is the one with the hand coming out.
Yes.
This is where a kid can,
it's kind of final destination-ish,
but it's West Craven.
The god brought us nightmare in home street.
Yeah.
Could be good, so.
No where, boy.
Very excited about this film.
My wife will be also excited about this film.
This is the story of John Lennon before the Beatles.
Wow.
This is a very young,
just an independent bit.
I kind of sort of,
but it starts the kid who will be Spider-Man.
Okay.
He's in this thing.
I'm interested.
Yeah.
And the remake releases this week
of the classic horror film
I spit on your grave.
This was actually referenced in the first screen film.
If you remember when Rose McGowan went into dark garage
and said, what is this?
I spit on your garage.
That's what she was referencing.
Maybe, uh,
think of him nowhere, boy.
Remember the,
I'm a nowhere man sitting in his nowhere man.
That's what it references.
Hey.
It references nowhere, man.
Hulk is here.
You're a genius, sir.
Oh.
Sometimes if you could see me right now
I'm shaking my head.
Yeah.
I've got some contention
with one of these DVD releases on it.
Okay.
Okay. Let's get into DVD.
Again, there's more releases.
I'm going to put the rest of them on my blog
later this week.
And I'll do a little discussion on those as well.
DVD and Blu-ray releases this week.
It's October.
It's the week of Chad's birthday,
which means there's a Disney release coming up.
Every year the week of Chad's birthday,
there's always a big DVD Blu-ray release.
The diamond edition of the movie that really,
to me, put Disney back on the map.
The little, the little mermaid started it.
Beauty and the Beast put them back on the map.
1991.
Here we went.
Do we need, what,
now explain to me what the diamond edition consists of.
This will be the first time it's been released on Blu-ray.
Okay.
They also do a lot of extras on this.
There's a lot of remastering involved.
You'd really be surprised.
Like, if I showed you, I've got a sleeping beauty on it.
I'm going to get a DVD on Blu-ray.
But if I had it on Blu-ray,
and I put Sleeping Beauty in,
there's no way that you would look at that and go.
That was made in the 60s.
I mean, they did a lot of great cleanup.
Cool.
Okay, I was just wondering what that was.
And there's a lot of great extras too.
Like, with the Blu-ray version,
if you put Sleeping Beauty in,
it uses your internet connection to find out what the weather is like,
where you are,
and that's what looks like behind the castle.
Oh, that's cool.
Kind of.
It's little neat things.
Speaking of this song,
the 2010 version of the Karate Kid releases.
Never needed to be made.
Have no desire.
Yep.
Don't care.
Don't care.
You're not Daniel Lerusa.
That's true.
And this is not California.
Ralph Machia.
Yeah.
What?
Do we have to go overseas with it?
Yeah.
And we couldn't have CGI,
Mr. Miyagi.
You know,
somebody,
I read somewhere that,
somebody asked him what it was like to play Mr. Miyagi
in Jackie Chan with Who?
He's too worried about
was that...
I was a great Pat Morita, sir.
Yeah.
And you will recognize.
Yeah.
Also,
I put Grindhouse on here because,
what they're doing with the Special Edition Blu-ray?
Right now, you can buy...
Grindhouse was a double feature you saw.
One was directed by Quentin Tarantino,
the other one directed by Robert Rodriguez.
You can only buy them separately on DVD.
With the Special Edition Blu-ray Grindhouse,
it is back together with all the trailers and everything.
The machete.
Machete,
original fake trailer for Machete,
which became a film,
and released a couple of weeks ago.
So, I may check this out.
I'm not going to rent this,
because I've never seen it.
I've heard great things.
Speaking of,
we early were,
we talked about West Craven.
A Nightmare on Elm Street,
the new version,
starring Jackie Earl Haley,
who played War Shack in...
Watchmen.
Yeah.
That releases a week.
I don't know about...
There's nothing about...
Yeah, something about trying to remake a classic
on some of these kind of...
Kind of, it's kind of...
No journey there.
No Heather Langen can.
No, this splice.
I don't know if I know about this.
This is Sarah Polly,
and I can't remember who stars in it with her,
but they are scientists...
...who...
Okay, I'm sorry.
You want to break this up?
Yeah, I'll break this up.
Let me look this up.
Yeah, let's break this up.
Let's break this up.
Literally coming across right now.
Yeah, report...
Minnesota Vikings,
inquiring a New England Patriots
about making a trade for one Randy Moss.
I'll get...
We'll break in again with more details on this.
Send him back to Minnesota.
Wow, sorry.
We do...
We do...
That came out of nowhere.
We do at Tom's cater to the sport,
so we're...
Whoa.
That's a big deal.
That just come across the four-letter network.
Man.
Well, I'd later broke that just now.
Wow.
Adrian Brody and Sarah Polly are genetic scientists,
and they do the no-no of using human genes.
Remember the girl with the...
The child with the tail?
I got you.
Oh, okay.
That's what's going on.
I got you.
That's what's going on.
Yeah, Rob, I'm right there with you.
That's why everything...
Wow.
Why at there for a second?
Because I was typing code you saw on the TV.
Got my attention.
Amazing.
Yeah, it's weird.
It's weird.
You know, Moss has been arguing about an extension
with the Patriots.
You know how they are, man.
They just don't know how to get that done,
and you can't get Vincent Jackson here,
because the charges don't release him.
Whatever.
I mean, he, of course,
you know, Randy Moss, he's been unhappy.
Yep.
So...
Let's get into some music news right now.
Sorry, the wheel's kind of...
It's alright.
It's a common for us.
Live radio.
Yeah.
Live radio, sir.
This is not pre-recorded.
Yeah.
Music news.
So news came across the wire today that I thought was interesting,
and I wanted to let you know about this.
The Black Eyed Peas.
Yes.
Who you're about to hear in just a moment.
Their last song was called The End.
But the thing was,
The End was an acronym for Energy Never Dies.
Okay.
So they're a new album that will be released on November the 30th,
it's now called The Beginning.
Good deal.
So get ready for that.
Bruno Mars.
What do you know about this kid?
Very, very, very little.
Heard the name.
Don't know much about him.
I know he's got a new song that's out.
That's kind of hot.
He's popular with the kids with the clothes in the hair.
Name the song?
I don't know the song.
Okay.
He'll be on Saturday Night Live.
I've heard the name.
I've heard the name.
Yeah.
I've not been going to jail.
Arrested for felony and drug possession in Vegas at the hard rock.
Let me explain something to the kids with the clothes in the hair out there.
If you're gonna carry illegal substances,
and I'm not endorsing that by any stretch of the imagination,
don't do it in Vegas.
Yeah.
Stay out of Vegas.
Stay as far away from Vegas as you can.
Yeah.
Huh.
But he may do up to a year.
Exactly.
I've heard it might be cocaine,
but I have not heard for sure.
He was on the VMAs this year.
Exactly.
With David Archuleta.
No, it was one of the rappers.
Oh, okay.
I want to say it's Drake.
Drake.
Get into Paris Hilton now.
No, she's already got her own.
She just needed more.
I noticed we got one of these in my wheelhouse on the music release.
Well, I try to balance music at least as a little bit.
David Archuleta.
He came in second on American Idol two years ago.
When his dad kind of toolished backstage at Idol.
His dad's always been a tool from what I've read.
Yeah.
But is that looks like Danny Bonnetucci, too?
Which doesn't help.
Yeah.
His album called Other Side of Down.
So is that beat up?
Because that's a Pixar movie.
Yeah.
Because you can call it that, too.
For me, for me, too.
Not number one.
Not my wheelhouse at all.
Too whiny.
Too poppish.
Too Bieber-ish for me.
But you know what?
The sad part is I take him over the Bieber.
I would.
I would.
If somebody offered me either CD, I said you have to pick one.
Or we'll cut your end off.
Yeah.
I'm going with the Archuleta.
I'll die over either of them.
This next one.
But a plug during Raw last time.
Yes.
Rand, this commercial six or seven times.
Toby Keith.
Bullets in the gun.
What's up with the new single?
Trailer hood?
Yeah.
I don't know.
You know, he finally made a song I didn't like.
Yeah.
Because that's one of your favorites.
I'm one of the guys that I'll give Toby a spin
and just about everything he does.
But this one kind of disappointed me.
This is a real Toby that he's got in his own label.
This is on the show dog label that's out of
Oklahoma City that he owns.
Oh wow.
He um, this is kind of his deal.
So whatever.
I've heard some stuff.
I got on some.
It's good.
It's typical Toby drinking songs, leaving songs, cheating songs,
stupid songs.
That's, that's done.
Let's talk about this next artist who we had a couple of songs
that related to her in the pre-show.
Yes.
If you're ever here, if you ever give a chance to see the show live,
some of the stuff we do in free shows.
Yeah.
A little bit different.
Free show jam.
Faith Evans.
Something about Faith releases today.
Yeah.
Is this her first album in forever?
Yeah.
I have issues with her because of who she was connected to
and I think she played a role there.
Yeah.
Finger 11.
Hey, Christian van.
Yes.
Also did Taine's theme.
That's right.
Slow chemical.
Did Glyphus stay.
That same song is on the soundtrack to the Punisher.
That's right.
I remember you.
The album this week called Life Turns Electric.
And then one, another one of my favorite Christian groups
has a brand new album.
Yeah.
Because it's for their first two.
After their first two albums, I'm a little off with them.
I may take a spin on this.
Maybe go to my local Christian bookstore and listen to it
and listening station.
Jars of Clay.
With a brand new album this week called The Shelter.
I may check it out and see what it's bid is.
Yes.
Have been kind of off with them for a while.
Yeah, they've been out for a while.
They've been.
Well, this song here right now, this is the remix of Flood.
But Flood was 97.
Yeah.
Actually, you know, strike that 95.
Because I saw them open for Michael W. Smith on this tour.
Huh.
At Reunion Arena.
It's a great show.
They've been in a band called Three Crosses.
My wife is asking, is that who sings the song she loves?
I don't know which song you're referring to here.
Or the linen or McCartney probably sings that song you love.
One of them.
I'm sure.
I'm sure there's at least one that she enjoys by those boys.
Let's talk a little TV news.
ABC has canceled the show.
Huge.
Oh no, the one I see that would be Blessed Union of Souls, honey.
This was a song.
I'm very uncomfortable saying the subject matter of this show
because I don't like the label of it.
Huge is about a bunch of kids at Fat Camp.
Didn't know anything about it.
Yeah, it was a summer show.
ABC has canceled it.
But it did get more shows than Lone Star.
You know.
And have you, are you going to pick a start?
I'll show the replacement.
I need to pick a shoulder to replace that.
You know what?
I'm still.
I'm still.
Now I'm two, two episodes, three episodes in.
Well, the one from last night I haven't watched yet.
Fahui Fahui.
Love it.
Getting great reviews.
One thing I did.
Remember the 5-0 debut?
The new Ford Mustang 5-0 debut in the pilot.
Chevy comes in, sponsors the whole show.
You saw it Chevy rolled out two days ago.
So you're starting to see what I've been waiting for
for three years is finally happening in February.
The Camaro convertible makes its debut.
And then they're saying hopefully 2-12 of these E28.
So after Ford brings back the Boss 302.
But yeah, it's a...
See a lot of trucks, see a lot of the Chevy run of cars
are now driving a brand new Camaro is their car.
So great show.
I don't know how long it goes.
You never know with TV these days how long these things get.
You just don't.
You don't.
But let's talk about our other shows that we're checking out.
House Blue Bloods.
Good.
It's your typical family cop show.
I don't know unless you know.
Are you in and up to make a form judgment yet?
I like it.
I think anytime we said this before.
We said this before.
You know Selic.
It's a cop show.
I just still can't buy him as a New Yorker.
You know, it's a cop show.
I think you're going to get the 80s when he was in a wheelhouse.
Those people now are here or stay at home moms or mothers or working mothers.
They're going to watch that TV show just because he's in it because of that draw.
But I like it.
My three, we start with finally the premiere of No Ordinary Family.
I finally got to watch it today.
I don't know where this thing is going.
Yeah, I think the shelf life on that is very, very, very small.
There's that new show on FX with Donald Logan, the cop show.
You know, a chick was passed on that because he didn't want to do another cop show.
Oh, Terriers?
Yes.
But he does this show on the heels of doing two fantastic four movies.
And you know what he does for a living?
He's a police sketch artist.
Did I miss a meeting?
Yeah.
So now you're doing the two things that you're known for.
You're doing a superhero bed and you're doing a cop bit.
But he's not allowed to go unseen.
It's very weird.
I'm going to give it a few episodes and see where it goes.
Just, hey, don't let them get costumes.
Yeah.
And B, I think they're trying to channel heroes a little bit.
Yeah.
And I have an issue with that.
Weird.
They're trying to work some villainy into the end of the episode.
There's another episode tonight.
I'll watch it.
We'll see what happens.
Out-sourced episode two vast improvement over episode one.
Yeah.
Very much enjoyed.
Although there's a girl on the show, she's very quiet.
And in the beginning, they worked for a novelty catalog.
And the American guy puts one of those fake deer heads on the wall.
That's got the motion sensor in it.
And everybody that comes in freaks out.
Well, she gets in and she's...
Because she's so quiet, she can't scream.
She's like...
That was very funny.
I'm kind of enjoying it.
It's got the great Needrick Baker in it.
Yeah.
Or Bater.
I'm going to stick with it for a little while.
Okay.
Boardwalk Empire caught up on that today.
This week's episode kind of lulled for a little bit.
Now you're into the more of the story of it now.
Things are going to start to pick up a little bit as this thing goes on.
I really think darkness is around the corner.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
So get ready for it because it is fixing to be on.
If you're not watching Boardwalk Empire get caught up.
Yeah.
Please see it agrees with me.
It is a great show.
Let's pay if you bill, shall we?
Thanks to everybody in the chat room, not in the chat room listing right now.
We always appreciate your support as usual.
But at this point in time, we're going to stop things down before we get into the meat of this show.
And...
Thank our sponsors.
That's the great people at John Crow, Pontiac, GMC, and Canton, Texas.
About an hour away here from the Metroplex.
Tons of deals.
Another deal we'll get to here.
2007 GMC Yukon, Maroon, with a built-in DVD player on-star.
Great car.
If you're never driven an SUV like a...
You know, like a Tahoe or a suburban or something like that.
They're great cars.
If you've got kids, the DVD player, that's great as it is.
If you tell them you got it here, tax tile and license, everything.
Tell them you got it here.
Three old changes free for mentioning the clubhouse with Rob and Cody.
I love that.
That saves you $100.
Also, another vehicle there.
We've talked about this car before on the show.
2005 Ford Mustang Silver with a black stripe and red leather interior.
That is still there.
How can that still be there?
Yeah.
That is still there.
Power windows, power locks.
13.7.
They've actually lowered that price.
Once again, new or used.
That is a car that you can once again mention.
You heard about it here on the clubhouse with Rob and Cody.
I'm not going to beat that dead horse.
Three old changes free.
It's $100.
It saves you $100.
Anything new and used there, whether it be the Yukon,
whether it be the Buick lacrosse,
anything that goes on with Buick Pontiac,
GMC.
They have it new and used.
No haggle.
Won't corner you.
Won't get you in a situation where you feel like you're signing your life away.
That's a good thing.
Go to East Texas, save a little money.
Also, I got this right on airtime.
2002 Sierra, GMC,
2500 ¾ ton, 4x4, 5 speed.
One owner.
That's the key in a car like that.
One owner.
Indeed, sir.
You can call Randy directly at 903-567-4131
or toll free at 188-831-4185.
Ask for Randy and he's going to send you to Ken over in finance
and get that thing knocked out.
And now, the moment of the show,
we're at the 126 mark.
It's time for the reason a lot of you people are here.
And it's good to have the fan contingent in the room.
Yes.
Thank you very much.
Oh, man.
Boy.
Stayed with gold.
And then here come all the gold.
Good, sir.
It is time for wrestling talk.
The basis for which this show is built.
Yes.
This is the foundation of this show.
That's why it's last on the docket.
That's right.
Save the best for last.
But that's a Williams.
Should I say that?
Yes.
We always start with general headlines.
How much do you know about this beefcake story?
Well, just what you've told me and this is a guy here.
Was he on camera?
Radio.
OK.
I'm just kind of curious what he's throwing down right now.
Brutus Beefcake calls into the damn Levitard radio show on 790
The Ticket in Miami, which is an ESPN affiliate.
States that he is signed with TNA.
And that Hogan has told him they're going to start everything
over and do an NWO style.
So now we're taking over the promotion.
And we're killing it.
Yeah.
There's no doubt in my mind.
Yes.
Kills this fish off.
And you've always had that contention that Hogan went over there
to kill it for Vince.
We'll see.
You know, I mean, I haven't been proved wrong yet.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Ed Ed Leslie.
Like you.
Hey.
You stay in the barber shop.
Yeah.
Don't get too far out of the barber shop.
And I lose interest in you.
And pull the needle out of your arm.
Yeah.
Then we all remember the disciple.
Yeah.
That was ridiculous.
Yeah.
That was ridiculous big.
Yeah.
I just, I don't know, man.
That's his bit.
Whatever.
Here's the story of the week to me.
You sent me a text message on Friday about this.
I lost it.
Yeah.
I'm glad I wasn't driving because I might not.
I might not have.
I might have just hit a pole.
Yeah.
I'm not sure some people that know it's all over some rooms
and some places.
Allegedly, a WWE Hall of Fame invitation has been sent
to the great city of Tampa, Florida to the boarden home.
Yeah.
Staying if you're listening.
Let's do this, still.
Let's not, if you want to do this,
this WrestleMania Lanna, if you want to go a Hall of Fame
top field for WCW guys, he has to be the centerpiece
of this class.
Because he was WCW.
It's stink.
It's the man.
Yeah.
I don't understand how.
Man's heart?
No, okay.
That was that thing.
We got an old picture here of this sting.
That's a collector's play on my wall.
That my wife got me for Christmas, sir.
It's sting.
If you really will do this, we're thinking about doing a special
edition when the Hall of Fame is announced for that.
But Sting's the guy that if you're going to do a WCW class
and he doesn't go in, then don't even have it.
Because if not, it waters it down.
I agree.
Sting's TNA deal is up in January.
But then the negative on this is he loves the money
and he likes the schedule.
Yeah, but again, put him on a Bretton contract.
And I think TNA still makes him feel relevant.
I guarantee you Vince rolls out the red carpet for him.
Yeah, I hope so.
You know what?
If I'm Vince, you put the belt on swagger.
You put the belt on, James.
I'm just not saying.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying.
But yeah, perfect timing for that.
Exactly, Misty.
Yeah, but again, if he's got a 90, that's assuming here.
Yeah.
Misty, are you assuming he has a 90-day non-compete?
Can TNA, I don't know if they have the clout
to pull people down 90 days.
Yeah, I don't think.
I've never heard of somebody being educated
to had a 90-day non-compete.
I could be wrong.
But if it's 90 days, you have no build-up.
Yeah.
That's the problem.
Yeah, we need, okay, wait.
Me and you could talk about this all along.
You're second bullet point.
I think he'd be a full knot, too.
The second bullet point does he accept.
But he's stink.
Yeah.
At the end of the day, he's still Steve Bore.
And let me tell you something.
DVD set.
I'll buy a book.
I might buy two.
I'll buy it.
It's good as the legends figures that came out of Warrior
and Savage.
That Savage one was amazing.
Savage do the evolution of sting.
Let's update that thing.
I have in the wall in our studio,
I have a set that Chad bought me for my birthday years ago.
That's never even been down the box.
Still in the box.
Yeah.
It is the evolution of sting at six different action figures
of sting from the beginning until basically what he's doing now.
Yeah.
And I'm on board with it.
I've always liked him in the ring.
There was some bits.
I thought were questionable.
I think he's a fool if he doesn't accept it.
Now let me ask you this.
Is somehow we going to weasel this deal where Foley gets in this year?
Yeah.
I think Foley can go in,
because if you remember as the cactus jack bitty vault was in the old NWA and WCW.
Because I'm going to say,
if you've been listening to WWE programming the last couple of weeks,
they've really been plugging his new book.
Yeah.
Which has a TNA title.
Countdown to lockdown.
Yeah.
Lockdowns a TNA paper view.
Which I find very, very strange.
Yeah.
But if Vince is involved,
there's a fly on the ointment.
Yeah.
Something's going on.
I'm like, once again, well deserving.
I've got one deal with Foley.
He should have never held Vince's belt.
That's my bit with Foley.
That's it.
That's it.
You're still Hall of Fame.
You're still Hall of Fame.
You're still Hall of Fame.
The cactus jack's one of the greatest, I think, bits ever.
I think one of the craziest things that could happen.
And I talked to you with the phone on this lunch today.
Could we find out that this movie they're making about his life
is being financed by WWE films?
Could be.
Could be.
How crazy would that be?
I mean, I mean, I'm in on Mick getting in.
I don't have any bones with the guy.
Just at the timing, he was crowned WWE Champion.
I have a hard time with the timing as thick as that roster was.
When you talk about Stone Cold, the Rock Triple H, you had all.
But it did.
It did ratings.
It did hugely.
It did hugely.
Yeah.
I just thought that was weird.
I don't know if Mick Foley, you can put the halter of the company on him.
I think his tag runs were longer than his full title runs.
Yeah.
Which I thought was weird.
Yeah.
Okay, let's get into the crux stuff.
Did I miss something?
Like I missed something in there.
As we talk about NXT, because last week was the last time you will see NXT on television.
As of tonight, NXT has moved to www.com and they gave us that.
I'm going to give you what happened on the episode in a minute.
What I noticed this time around, there was no previous wrestling footage of any of these girls.
Because if you remember NXT seasons 1 and 2, you got a little bit of FCW footage of these guys.
With the Divas, not a nanosecond.
Probably FCW.
Probably going to go in all Delay run.
And here's how the show went.
You ready?
We start out with a wheelbarrow race.
Where you pushed horn swagger in a wheelbarrow around his bed ain't over yet.
Then we had two profiles.
Then, because it works so well with NXT, the entire ending of the previous week's Smackdown,
the Paul Barrow reveal, in its entirety.
And then we have a dis the diva competition.
That's your entire episode of the show that you're transitioning from television to WWE.
See you later in NXT.
We hardly knew you.
Unbelievable.
Another show that sometimes I think needs to go by the wayside, this one here.
As we move on to, and superstars, I just have one quick thing.
Kofi was on his trunks and you're going to appreciate this.
He normally has that little smiley face.
His trunks were a red and black motif.
And the face looked real carnagey.
Really?
Yes.
Yeah, hey, and I was like, come.
If you've read my blog, he's on it.
He's one of those guys that I think the limit with Kofi's going to be WWE creative.
Where do you want to go with him?
I think he's in my opinion.
He's dropped the over the top Jamaican guy.
You're from Boston.
Well, yeah, or Manchester.
I don't think he's from Ghana.
Now he's from Ghana.
Now he's from Ghana.
He's a US territory.
So I just don't know.
I still don't know Ghana West Africa.
You're thinking, warm.
I went to South Garland High School by the way.
Wow.
So Kofi.
Hey, great.
Always like when they update the wardrobes.
So, whoa, where are we going here?
Listen to me, Foley.
Okay.
This is TNA.
Speaking of that, which, let's talk about impact.
Yeah.
Opening of impact this last week.
Was a tag team lumberjack match.
Yeah.
I don't know that I've ever seen a tag team lumberjack match before.
It was fun.
Enjoyed it.
And it's good to see EV2.0 get a win for a change.
As we get ready for Bound for Glory, which is a week from Sunday.
We will not be doing a special edition for Bound for Glory.
I'm sorry.
This one here is a good place to park.
Well, you know, impact is live this week.
And, yeah.
Which it should be every week.
Sure you'll have opinions.
I'm sure the IWC will be going crazy with full of rumors and stuff about who's going to appear and who's not going to appear in that edition of impact.
Flair versus Foley last man standing.
If you get five minutes of your time, go to YouTube or wherever you have to go.
And look up the promo.
Because for about ten minutes, Flair and Foley, I would swear to you, were shooting.
Yeah.
You know, they did this once before over for Vince.
And I just...
That's something that I don't...
I think it does get a little too real.
But like I said yesterday on the phone, we were talking about the show doing a little prep.
I said, you know what?
Nick got the end on that is when he goes, hey Rick, how'd it feel when you called your daughter and said, honey, your dad didn't jail?
Yeah.
But has Rick lost his mind?
Rick.
I don't know, man.
You need to watch him on the...
I'll find the impact.
He's crazy Rick.
Oh, he's...
I mean, I don't mean like, crazy kooky Rick.
I mean, crazy Rick.
Like, certifiably insane Rick.
Yeah.
Like, AJ's in a match.
Rick, we think's gonna come down and do some commentary.
He walks up, picks up the headset, just uses the mic part of it, cuts a five minute promo and walks out.
Hey, I'd rather it be crazy Rick than Lacky Rick.
Yes, he's not Lacky Rick.
I don't like Lacky Rick.
Anderson.
Love this guy more and more every week.
He's cutting a promo about his deal.
But it's not on 10, 10, 10.
It's on...
Ken.
Ken.
Ken.
Funny.
Yeah.
Hey, he's always a legend.
But he always a legend.
He gets to be...
You can see what I see nursing home Rick.
Not me.
The guy continues to get nothing but better.
Yeah.
He's gonna be reaction.
Them guys that you're gonna look back and go, you know what?
That's one of those guys that...
You know what?
Vince, I just didn't know what the hell to do with you.
And he's...
Vince has several of those guys that he just scratches and goes, I don't know what to do with you.
But oddly enough, all of them Dixie does.
Look at D'Angelo Denero.
Yeah, but are they gonna be guys that people will tune in to see?
I'll watch the Pope cut a promo.
And I've got a bullet point on that coming up in a minute.
More and more commonplace right now.
And it happened all of impact on Thursday night.
Sting was not in makeup for one frame unless it was a flashback second.
Yeah.
Hey, I'll show her shades.
So there's still a little bit of cover up there.
Yeah.
But the sole patch is like half gray and half black now.
Maybe Sting is getting real.
It's kind of...
It's full circle.
I don't know how I feel about this.
I really don't know how I feel about this.
Yeah.
I think it is.
I think makeup's all about gonna be a match thing for him.
And I just said it a minute ago.
That's the way he goes to Hall of Fame if it does.
He's not gonna pay him with his shades.
You know who I think puts him in and I just thought of this?
Sean.
So I was about to say the same thing.
Brother.
Got it.
I could do...
I could do a night of going.
Guys, I'd like to see Sting fight.
And then we'd be here.
We could do three of these shows of that one.
We've done it before.
Yeah.
And I said, did your garage throw in dark?
Guys that I wish Sting could have gotten the ring with
and they went there prime.
So actually, I'd like to see put him in,
but I don't know that Vince would ever do it as Rick.
Yeah.
Not until they get any...
I don't know any Dixie's banner.
But you know what?
You could have Ricky...
You've seen him put him in.
Yeah.
Somebody...
Somebody's got some milk with it.
But man, I think Sean would be really cool because at the time they were...
And you know they've spoken at least.
Yeah.
Especially as long...
And they kind of drift in the same circles with some of the charity work
and organizations they do.
So yeah, I mean...
That'd be awesome.
Yeah.
So there's a...
Nash Sting and Pope have all kind of joined forces right now.
They're...
They're anti the man.
Now there's something going on with Pope and Miss Tess Mocker.
We're not sure what that is yet.
But...
Now, right now the match sits in Nash Sting versus Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett at Boundford Glory.
So Sting says, why don't we make this thing a six man?
Hogan.
Come on out of the hospital.
So is Sting Twaining?
Yes.
Okay.
He's...
He's leaning.
He's been doing that for years.
With them.
So this shop comes out and says, well, you know Hogan's in the hospital?
Yeah.
You know how this is going.
And he goes, but I'll tell you what, he'll be here alive next week.
You can ask it yourself.
Huh.
I have...
Yeah.
Yeah.
Get closer to that belt.
Don't do it.
Even though you're going to beat my over-under.
Yeah.
And that's just because of health.
Yeah.
And that.
AJ has a heel really starting to work.
Yeah.
That was kind of a deal we didn't think was going to work.
But yeah, I'll take it.
I like him.
I think he was...
He was just face for so long he never learned how to beat a heel.
And now he's been a heel for a while.
I think Rick's really working with him.
And teaching him now not how not to be cheesy AJ.
How to be a legitimate heel.
And if you see AJ's tattoo.
Hmm.
He's got AJ underneath his...
Yes, I have.
He's got the dates of his kid's burger.
He's on a CWF website, by the way.
Oh, it's he really?
Yeah.
With that garb.
Yeah.
Okay, okay, okay.
So your main event is angle versus a bis in a steel cage.
Why do we have to lock a steel cage?
I was thinking about this.
Because part of the whole steel cage thing is getting out of the steel cage.
Yeah.
So why can't we just kind of close the little latch deal and not lock it with a chain?
Hell in a cell.
This is so crazy.
We got a lot...
And take the book away from him.
Please.
We said that last week.
Yeah.
Kurt has gotten into bleeding all of a sudden.
Somebody needs to teach Kurt how to blade.
Congratulations.
Kurt also expecting a baby.
With 24-year-old fiance, a very foreign name.
So the Kurt angle will be a father again.
Oh, wow.
So congratulations.
Don't blade too far from bleeding death.
I'm telling you.
He cut himself and it just gushed.
Yeah.
And I was like, Kurt, talk to Rick.
Let Rick teach you how to blade, please.
Yeah.
Because I mean, he was...
I mean, he bled all over that ring.
I can't...
I can't pitch your Kurt hardcore.
I've got so many issues with that guy.
Is Kurt still dating the Rockacon?
I thought they were done.
I don't know.
I don't know.
She's foreign.
It's all I know.
I don't think Kurt...
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
I think she's from like New York or something.
And then reaction heirs.
Now reaction will also be live this week after impact.
How does interesting little appearance by one Vince Russo?
Talking about how him working with Hogan and Bischoff is strictly professional.
He doesn't like him personally, but they get along because they're professionals.
Is this foreshadowing?
Is this going to turn into Hogan and Bischoff versus Russo and his guys?
I don't need Vince Russo on television again.
I never need Vince Russo on television to begin with.
Yeah.
I don't know.
We'll see.
I don't know, man.
It's just one of those things that I think that...
Is he going to come out in his Yankee jersey again?
Yeah, I'm start telling people how he built the business.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
That's weird.
That's going to do for impact.
Yeah.
Let's talk about Smackdown.
And as we talked about last week, it was a one-hour preview to Smackdown.
It was a live countdown to Smackdown.
CM Punk had a nice little t-shirt on.
There was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt.
The drug-free is the way to be.
He also had another one that had just I broke Big Show's hand.
Yeah, that was a wild backdown.
Yeah.
That was a wild backdown.
Here's a question for you.
MVP.
Light the guy.
Very personable.
Great on Twitter.
Could you put the IC belt on him?
Who?
MVP.
Yes.
He's already held the US title, so yeah.
That's what I was saying.
I think that the US title would almost be a step backwards for him.
Yeah.
But could you put that belt on him
for the reason it's supposed to be put on him?
You understand what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Always like.
Always like.
Couldn't you have him on your list?
Oh, no, I did not.
OK.
You're going to have MVP.
I think I don't know that he could be a world champion.
Apparently, he had a nice little run in Ring of Honor
that I did not know about until last week
that he was discussing with somebody on Twitter.
Apparently, he had a real hood-type gimmick.
Well, that's cool.
He was a former bodyguard, and he's got some lineage in that ilk.
I don't know.
I think he's a mid.
I think he's what he is.
He's never going to be a main event guy.
Great on the stick.
Great on the stick, for sure.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So we have a little bit where NXT's in the ring,
finally show up on SmackDown.
And Franchie hits the ring.
And he hits, he's slater with this chair.
And this is the danger of live television.
What I'm about to share with you, sir.
Striker, they're doing the replay.
Striker goes, listen to the impact of this chair shot.
Well, it was a slow mo, and there was no audio.
So it was just, listen to the impact.
Nothing.
He goes, well, fans, it was a huge impact of that chair.
Gotta be careful with that.
Little wills off.
You know what?
Barrett is getting better on this stick.
I like starting to enunciate a little bit, which is good.
I think you're right.
He talked about last week.
I don't know that he'll be the first new undisputed champion,
but he's going to have that belt.
Yeah, I like him.
He's the guy.
He's the guy right now.
Yeah.
Like me, Wade Barrett.
During the deepest match, there was a deepest tag match.
Interesting little exchange between Striker and Grisham.
One of them was in there, and Striker says,
she's not the legal diva, and then Grisham says,
well, they're all over 21, Matt.
Matt goes, thank you, Jerry, the King of Lauer.
A little uncomfortable there at the end of the table.
Let's see, where are we now?
What I've given correction.
Probably should have done this at the top of the show.
But it's not correcting us.
It's correcting the WWE.
Specifically, Matt Striker.
Yeah.
When Jack Swagger comes to the ring,
if you want to put something out there,
don't make it something that's easily...
Uh, there's my Polish right there.
That's not easily debunked.
Yeah, yeah.
Don't say Jack Swagger was a 2002 Heisman Trophy finalist.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Chad and I were watching this together,
and I looked at him, and I said,
do you look that up for me? He goes, no.
This guy wasn't even in the top 25.
And, you know, and after I texted you one day,
and said, what's this guy's deal?
He was a third string defensive tackle at home.
Yeah, he was not...
That's not me when he said his former sooner-grade,
I kinda...
Yeah.
But he went straight heel on this thing.
They were in Oklahoma City,
and he said he was getting out of Oklahoma
into a place called
Texas.
And he did this, and I'm showing this to you.
Yeah.
He did it this way.
He acted like he was throwing up the longhorn symbol
as an OU guy, which I think there might be a log
against that.
Yeah.
But he did it more as the Wolfpack signal
than it was the longhorn signal.
So I wonder if that was maybe a loophole.
Could be.
I thought that was a little little strange.
Great ending for the Big Show Nexus fit.
I don't know if you saw any of this.
The way this thing ended,
they got him on his back on the mat,
and everybody took a lip.
Two arm bars, two leg bars,
and then Barrett finishes it
by putting a figure four on Franchise Head.
Wow.
That's how you get it done.
That was really cool.
That was very creative, I thought.
Cool.
But we've got to get Nexus some steam.
Now, I'm going to talk about this Nexus bit
because we're going chronologically.
Yeah.
So I took my notes before the pay-per-view.
So please keep that in mind.
Undertaker's entrance.
You know, with Paul there,
you have a little bit of the old.
But he comes out in the sleeveless hoodie.
So you have a little bit of the new,
which I thought was kind of neat.
Yeah.
But have you noticed now
that his ring outfits match his wife's?
Hey, man.
This, this hit me on Franchise Head.
You know, I was watching Smackdown.
Him and his wife have matching outfits now.
They're both doing the sleeveless hoodie bit together.
Yeah.
Paul marks in a place right now, man.
I really think this thing is getting ready to come
full circle with him.
You know, maybe he's just more content on me
than a family guy right now, man.
You never know.
Hello, Peter.
That's the wrong family guy.
I call it up.
I just...
Oh.
And we'll talk about.
Now, here's your return.
I'm looking forward to.
All right.
Really?
Can you get your tongue out of your cheek, please?
Yeah.
Ray Mysterio returns to Smackdown.
This coming Friday to address...
Let me ask you something.
What are we going to do
if he injures Delria?
After all this buildup.
Ah, he won't.
He'll be fine.
That actually could end up being a pretty decent little feud.
I think...
I'm just sick of Ray versus the big man.
It's not with a...
I don't know.
This could be a pretty...
And you know it's going to be very Latin-oriented
so you're going to have that bit also into it.
It could work.
It could work a little bit.
But I think we're also...
This is what says he weighs like two pounds.
How do you hear him?
Ask the Undertaker.
When he broke his nose in his orbital bone a month ago.
Yeah.
Uh...
Here's my thing.
Right now Alberto Del Rio has two roads.
Because you've got the Ray thing.
But now you've got the edge thing too.
Yeah.
And we'll talk about that here in just a minute.
As we get to this past Sunday nights.
At a little thing I like to call Hell in a Cell.
I was there.
We talked about this earlier.
I got a call.
I got a call from a buddy of mine
who said they needed seat fillers for that night.
So I went down to the arena.
Great experience.
Ended up eight rows behind the announce table.
Two rows behind the people with the souvenir chairs.
I'm reserving judgment on this pay-per-view
because...
And this is something that Chad and I were there together.
Yeah.
And it's something that he and I have been discussing.
Is...
Was it a good show?
Or was it a better show
because we were there live?
Yeah.
Well, and I will flip the coin on that.
It wasn't their live, but was following it.
I know a lot of people were saying it sounded like a dead crowd.
For Dallas, Texas, the crowd seemed to be dead.
And it really was.
It was not the...
Because there was no...
There was nothing that really was a metric about it.
Yeah.
It was a non-major.
The best match of the night was the second match on the card.
Yeah.
That was weird.
The linemen I thought was weird.
I don't know.
It was a weird as a release to run down a match.
I was like, huh?
So that's why I didn't expect anything very shocking from the scene of Nexus.
Yeah.
Orton's shameless was the match of the night.
Yeah.
Second match on the card.
I like them.
I like shameless man.
He can go.
I mean, him and Orton worked very well together.
Orton yelled at the cameraman apparently at one point.
Camera man got in the way.
But it's how I want to sell.
The camera is going to get in the way.
The match before it.
The first match of the card was the US title.
Which is a three-way dance.
It was a great match.
It was Morrison's birthday.
Yeah.
You know, he climbs the scaffold and jumps off it at one point.
But here's my thing.
If you ever go to a live event and there's a false count anywhere a match,
sit on the aisle side of the arena.
Do yourself a favor.
Well, you really couldn't have been choosing.
Yeah, we were.
I mean, you're right.
Beggars being choosing.
Yeah.
But we watched the whole match.
Once they got out of the ring, they never got back in it.
Yeah.
It moved all the way to the other side.
And it was just.
We watched it like we were watching it at home on the jumbo tron.
So it was still a great match.
Yeah.
It wasn't better than or chance.
Yeah.
But you got three guys there that can go.
I'm Morrison, man.
I like the kid.
A lot of people don't like the kid.
You are endorsing him.
The ending of the scene in the Nexus match.
You knew it was coming because you're not going to kill this angle yet.
Yeah.
But it's just one of those things.
And we'll talk about that more when we get to Raw.
In case you didn't realize.
I mean, we all know now because they showed less on our raw.
When McGillacutty hit the ring, they did a very, very good job of covering him up.
Husky Harris, you couldn't because he ran out and hit Cena.
Yeah.
He ran out.
As soon as I realized it was Harris, I realized it was McGillacut.
Yeah.
And I was like, now we can get these guys involved.
Yeah.
So I think with Alex Riley, you're too far gone with him being.
Yeah.
Being Mrs. Lackie.
But you know, bring some of these others you've lost to guys out of the Nexus.
They're on the poster for Survivor Series.
That's where you've got to do something.
Yeah.
You can change that any time you want to.
Yeah.
And this will lead us right on into Raw.
I'm seeing it with Nexus.
I just, you know, this thing looks so.
It's too forced.
It would have been a big thing if we had to finger poke from Doom.
I do think if you didn't watch last night, you know your main event now is.
Due to the fact of a 20-man battle royal.
Which we'll get to here in a minute.
They have announced today that we've seen it will be in Wade Barrett's corner.
Oh, do they say that?
At Bragging Rights.
Turn on Orton.
Turn.
Are you talking about being a cost or in the title?
That's the only thing that saves this bit.
It is somehow seen a cost or in the belt.
I don't like that the whole.
Now seen as the road runner in Nexus is wildly coyote.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're killing what something that could be really, really great.
You've got such potential with this storyline and it's not going anywhere and it kills me.
Yeah.
And we got to get Paul the Vesk back on television.
But I think what Vince is doing right now is he's gauging it.
He's gauging his possible merchandise impact.
Yeah.
Because I think that's what I think this whole thing is.
I think Vince is so afraid of losing that merchandise money and the TV money and all this money from Cena.
If he does go heal, I think you kill a lot of that.
Absolutely for sure.
But look what it did for Hogan.
Yeah.
It revitalized his career.
I think it's a calculated risk.
Yeah.
I really do.
I think that you have to turn him.
Yeah.
Because if for no other reason is you've got to find who the next guy is.
Yes.
Because I really believe Cena's not in the end of this career but it's on the horizon.
It is.
He's getting that Hollywood talk in his ear.
You've got to get him fresh and up.
I don't think you will ever have to worry about Cena in a lot of Hollywood because a guy can't act.
It's like a Hogan.
Hogan couldn't act either.
The rock, Dwayne, he can do a little something.
And then Triple H, we'll see what he can do.
Yeah.
And then Edge is doing a movie.
We'll see what these cats can really do.
But you know, speaking of Edge.
He's now doing a bit where he is reading the company of quote unquote all things.
And I've got a prediction if you didn't watch last night.
Now a member of the Smackdown brand.
He has the belt.
You said that.
You said that last week.
It looks like Miz is going to go with him.
He is going to dominate that.
Yeah.
And I have a, I'm just teasing a match here.
What'll probably happen with that is I think Edge will try, or will challenge Miz for the money in the bank and he'll win it.
But does that cheapen money in the bank?
Because that was Raw's money in the bank.
That's true.
Maybe not.
Maybe Miz won't go with him.
But Edge is better on Smackdown.
To me, on Raw, he's always awkward.
Just like we said last week.
Like Chipotle just awkward on Smackdown.
Yeah.
We're getting crazy edge again.
I noticed.
Miz has a great suggestion.
Have the locker room turn on Cena.
That's true.
The trust factor goes away.
Yeah.
Because now he's next.
You know what I don't hope this does.
I like that.
Be.
Remember to go back to the 90s.
I know we had a Josh in here that has his own show.
Maybe he's still in the room.
Maybe not though.
I just blew the wheels off of him.
Remember the old, I hope they don't go
Ted DiBiose Virgil with this.
Yeah.
That Cena's kind of like kind of Barrett's lackey
and then all of a sudden Cena just says
screw my job and turns on him.
I hope we don't go that bit with this.
I hope not either.
I just don't Cena as a heal.
I just don't think it works because I don't think it has the end.
I don't think he has it any.
I don't think he has the character in him.
I think it just there's something about him.
I don't think he could ever pull off heal.
But again, he started that way.
Yeah, but was it forced then?
I didn't watch SmackDown.
Yeah.
I mean, so.
I'm in.
We'll see where it goes.
His gold dust.
Okay, Mitch, I didn't know.
Did you not see this one last night?
I watched this whole thing with Marie since she's been getting
the secret of the letter.
Yeah.
So they're in the ring.
Johnny, you know, he beats Johnny.
He puts Johnny Knoxville in Dream Street after Johnny Knoxville.
He does the big hand high five and knocks him down.
Well, then the jumbo, the Titan Tron says, you are mine.
And they're looking at the jumbo Tron.
And here comes the lighting in the ring was all yellow.
Oh, don't let this be a gold dust freaky bit.
And it was.
And he's still kind of.
Yeah.
He shows up in the ring behind him.
And he knocks Ted down and grabs the mic and says,
I don't want you.
And then Marie, she's in the corner all freaking out.
And he gets right up on her and goes, I don't want you either.
Huh.
And he turns around and he looks at that belt.
And he says, I want you.
Walks out with the million dollar belt.
Really?
That's cool.
Like that.
Okay, I'll take that.
That's good.
Because he loves gold.
Yeah.
But, uh, yeah.
Funny.
Well, then we get to the main event and raw, which we find out is a
20 man over the top battle royal for the number one
contendership.
And I went, Vince is finally playing the game.
Yup.
Because Thursday night on impact, your main event.
Everybody on the roster, that's on the bound for glory card.
Is it an over the top battle royal for $100,000?
I said, Vince is finally, it might be Dirty Pool.
It might be Dirty Pool.
But he's finally playing the game.
Exactly.
I think that Raw has a roster to make that a very competitive battle royal.
He's taking the shot.
For sure.
He's finally taking the shot.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
In.
And that is going to do it for wrestling talk for the main part of
wrestling talk this week.
Yeah.
We do have one more part of wrestling talk and I'm not going to lie to
you.
I enjoy this part of the show.
This is a good one.
I'm not afraid of it.
Very true.
I'm going to just...
And you said you were putting a preface on this.
That's one of the preface ones.
Very...
A lot of...
I've got actually three things that happened on the same day very
close to happening.
Wow.
Yeah.
Chronologically, as you would say.
That is the theme for this week in wrestling history.
We'll start out in a great year in 1975.
Which means we go back to the greatness that was the NWA and Jim
Crockett promotion.
Yes, sir.
This was the...
This week was the...
Dubbed the plane crash that changed wrestling.
You're far from me.
It was a great player, sir.
Rick Flair was involved in a serious plane crash in 1975
that he broke his back and he was also told he'd never wrestled.
Also in that plane crash was David Crockett,
brother of, obviously, Jim Crockett, Mr. Wrestling Tim Woods.
Wow.
I love this part of the documentary, too.
Johnny Valentine, of course Rick Flair in a Bobby Bogar,
a little quick.
David Crockett really was the...
was the luckiest one.
Miner scrapes, bad concussion.
Tim Woods, Miner scrapes and bruises.
At the same time, he was feuding with Rick Flair.
So when the names come out in the Charlotte newspaper,
this was a weird theme because wrestling was still trying to keep that K-Fab curtain back.
At that point in time, indeed, sir.
Bobby Bogar had a rod in his back.
He never wrestled again.
And then Johnny Valentine and Rick Flair switched places between the plane ride.
Johnny Valentine broke his back and never wrestled again, either.
That is true.
So that was...
That's one of them things that Rick Flair just better covered in the book, though.
Yes, not in the...
Yeah, better, for sure.
Also, 1997, Brian Pilman was found dead after passing away from heart disease.
He's been 13 years.
Also, the same night was the first ever hell in the cell, bad blood.
Between who?
Sean Michaels and the Undertaker and the...
We'll never story in his book about this.
Yeah, we'll never be duplicated.
It's also the Night King debuted.
Yep.
First time we saw Glenn Jacobs and his garb.
Brian Pilman, God, I liked him.
And the Hollywood Blonde...
What amazes me to this day is how close he and Austin really were.
Yeah, I mean, he was a great tag team guy.
A great singles guy who took a swim through ECW when Vince got him.
He was too far gone.
And then also this week was the...
Brian Pilman will go in there.
The Austin Pilman gun incident on Rawl was this week in wrestling.
You should remember, he's in Cincinnati.
Brian Pilman, if people don't know this, did play for the Cincinnati Bangles for a very short time.
It was from the Cincinnati Metropolitan area.
That was this week.
Hell in the Cell.
If you haven't read Sean's book or seen that, I have it on a DVD.
That's one of my top five Sean matches ever.
Because it was Sean's heel because they kind of made it if he lost.
He was done and there's a deal in his matches.
The great gym is Jim, Vince, and King.
And Sean climbs the, you know, King being heel announcer at that time.
Yeah.
Sean climbed the ropes.
This was after the chair shot where he's just...
And then JR just says,
The most cockiest man in the game is going to the top rope, maybe for the last time.
Just people thought I was a hell of an undertaker would win.
You know, Paul Berra comes down, Kane rips the deal, everything's history.
The others said no.
There's a lot of sad notes.
Darren Drausdoth is paralyzed in ring at a WWE SmackDown taping in 1999.
Puk.
Yeah, did we do...
If he worked at one time, he was doing some dot com stuff.
He has a blog on dot com to this day, I believe.
Yeah.
And that, hopefully next week a little cheery, but that is this week in wrestling history.
Yeah, got a little memorial.
And he's got an end memorial.
He didn't mention one world-class championship wrestling guy.
That's either so.
That's a win.
Watch that documentary.
You just go, my god, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.
Well, it's time for my personal favorite part of the show.
And it is besides wrestling, because I love, we could talk wrestling all day if you like this.
And some of you will.
It is now time for the list as the pendulum swings back to me.
Starting to have to get a little creative with the list now, because we're starting to kind of drain the obvious list things.
And as I was sitting in my office the other day, getting some work done, I thought, you know what?
Here's one we haven't covered.
In this age of superhero movies.
Yes.
Some of these kids today with the clothes and the hair need to be reintroduced to the greatness of the superhero cartoon that I grew up on.
So what I put together is my 10 favorite superhero cartoons ever.
How did you do when you read this list on ones you recognized?
The first one I don't remember.
Really?
Yeah.
Wouldn't born to anyone.
Yeah, but they played this.
Maybe I do and I still don't remember.
Everything else I'm pretty up and up on.
Number 10 was the plastic man adventure hours, what I was actually called, aired from 1979 to 1981.
What did it reruns forever?
Maybe I have saying just don't remember.
He plastic man's got this red suit, he's got glasses on and he can...
Okay, I'm saying it.
You know plastic man.
At one time a film was trying to be produced in the 80s with Bruce Willis attached to it.
Always enjoyed it though.
He had a little sidekick and a little dog.
That's right.
Okay.
That's right.
Defenders of the Earth.
This went one season, 1986.
This is where the Phantom had his own little cards.
It was like five different guys and like Flash Gordon was involved.
You know, the Phantom, there was a man Drake.
It kind of rotated around.
Yeah.
You can get it on DVD for like a dollar and a piece of wind right now.
It's dirt cheap.
Number 8 is the 1966 version of Captain America.
I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of that being re-throwed out.
Great theme someone.
Captain America throws his mind to you.
It was back then with like your animation was like you'd have a scene in one thing would move.
Yeah.
That's what this was.
And it was always on it like before I went to school in the morning when I was in elementary school.
I always loved watching it because it would rotate around.
There was an Iron Man.
There was a Thor.
And there's another one that comes up right now at number seven.
The Spider Man animated series from 1970.
They show that they show that don't boomerang sometimes late night.
Now it's Disney.
They've actually picked Disney's pick some of that up and not I've seen some of that.
That's Spider Man.
Spider Man.
Yeah.
That's where that one comes from.
Yeah.
Now nobody knows who you are.
That was the electric company and that was live action.
So liked it.
That was weird, wasn't it?
It was odd but I loved it.
I loved the electric company.
They don't make shows like that anymore.
This new version of the electric company is terrible.
That's terrible.
Number 5.
I remember sorry.
Number 6.
And when I looked this up on IMDB and I saw that it aired from 1966 to 1968,
it absolutely floored me.
Yeah.
Because this actually a fear for me with boomerang.
Sometimes boomerang will throw some of these on.
I'm talking late night.
What?
12.30.
1 a.m.
I mean, I watched this on Saturday morning.
Yeah.
Being the greatness that is Space Ghost.
Yeah.
That was Hannah Barbera.
Yeah.
And I was like, yeah.
That was a 60 shot.
Yeah.
And the 8.
I don't swim, got a hold of it.
Oh.
Have you never watched Space Ghost Coast to Coast?
I have.
I think it's genius.
Kevin Smith.
One of my leaders is down there.
I love Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
But the original Space Ghost 1966 and 1968, they just don't make them like that anymore.
Good bit.
Number 5.
We get into another Spider-Man series.
I remember this one very, very, very well.
Did not realize it was 6 season.
Didn't.
There was this one with Iceman.
And it was Iceman.
Firestorm.
Firestorm.
It's a fictional character.
Yes.
Just made for the cart dead.
Iceman, of course, was not.
Yeah.
She was.
Spider-Man and his amazing friends.
And the one thing I always remembered about this show, remember they had like a dorm room and
it transformed into like a war room.
The one thing I remember about this show is how much Firestar and Mary Jane resemble each other.
Yes.
That was very much so.
Well played, sir.
Number 4.
And I know you're on board with this.
I'm shocked the originals not on here.
I kind of had to go with one or the other and I had to go with this one.
Justice League Unlimited.
Very much in on this.
Can anybody do it better?
And then Bruce Tim and Paul D.
That was a show.
Nobody on the planet that can do something.
I caught it during Cartoon Network as they were starting to run it again late night and watched it every night was in.
It kind of got what I did like about it.
It didn't focus on Batman Superman.
It focused on some of your other DC characters.
And that was their genius.
The green arrow and those guys.
Martian Manhunter.
And those guys.
That's the genius of Tim and D.
Yeah.
Because they just, they seem to have this amazing ability to go, okay, things are getting a little stale.
What can we do?
Yeah.
And when we talk about number one, these guys are all over the top five.
Exactly.
But when we get to number one, I'm going to tell you a story on how that worked.
But what happened was they had their original Justice League run.
They realized that things were getting a little routine.
They went through the Fenergarian War with Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
And after that, they kind of like, okay, what are we going to do now?
And they went, here's what we're going to do.
We're going to open this thing up.
And we're going to take some of these lesser known characters.
And we're going to bring them in.
I don't know if you remember Captain Adam.
Uh huh.
You ever had a voice voice?
That was George Eads from CSI.
There we go.
Yeah.
That was the voice of Captain Adam.
Yeah.
Good night, Missy.
Thank you for coming by.
So it was unlimited.
They could now go in so many different directions.
Yeah.
The next episode of Unlimited is the one where Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman
get turned into kids.
Yeah.
Remember that?
He turned a pig.
Yeah.
And he's singing the blues at the end of the bar.
Number three, speaking of which, challenge of the Super Friends.
This went one season, 1978.
This was my favorite iteration of the Super Friends because you had, again,
it was kind of an unlimited deal because you brought in people like Shazam
and Apache Chief.
But they took on the Legion of Doom.
Yeah.
So every one of the Super Friends had a corresponding villain.
Yeah.
It was the floating headship that they had.
Yeah.
My favorite iteration because it was every week, you know, you're going to get something awesome.
Yeah.
And you did.
Number two.
And I was not on board with this at first.
Team Titans.
Also done by Tim and Dini.
2003 to 2006.
It was done very manga style.
Yeah.
To anime.
And it took me a little while to adjust to it.
But once I did, the story lines were incredibly strong.
Again, it's Bruce and Paul Dini.
The guys know how to do it right.
Which brings us to number one.
Oh, yeah.
In my opinion, probably the greatest superhero animated series that this world
or any other has ever seen.
And it would be Batman the animated series from 1992 to 1995.
This was Tim and Dini's really first foray into the deal.
Here's how that worked.
It was on Fox.
Afternoons.
After school.
After school, yeah.
And this was another one.
When I first saw their animation style, it took a little look at news too.
But it was kind of a throwback at the same time.
In 1994, Fox went to them and said, this thing is way too dark.
Yeah.
Got to do something.
So what they did is they went, OK, here's what we're going to do.
We'll bring Robin in.
Well, maybe at that point in his career, maybe that'll help out.
After one season, Fox went, this is still too dark.
So Tim and Dini went, then we're done here.
Yeah.
Like, they never really compromised.
Which I've always admired.
They've known when to jump off the horse.
Yeah.
And they got it in the program.
You can get the entire series now on a box set on DVD.
That's cool.
If you've never watched an episode of Batman the Animated Series, do so.
It's very well done.
And not just because of my Batman bias.
It's a great show.
Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman.
Even though Dietrich Bader is doing it right now on Batman the Brave and the Bold, it's just that Conroy's awesome.
He just is.
And that is going to do it for the list this week, my friends.
So the pendulum now goes back to you.
Yeah.
The idea of what you're going to do.
It hits.
Sometimes it just hits me.
I'm the same way.
Sometimes it hits me.
Or at least sometimes it is.
Let that play us out.
Then while I heard that.
Okay.
So you'll just kill the, kill the, kill the normal things for the.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I want to thank John Crow Pontiac, Canton, Texas, GMC, Buick, they're also for their sponsorship.
