The conflict of interest has finally won. After after a triple digit win season, I mean, the two best teams in baseball faced each other. Oh, it should be.

For those of you that might be confused, Mike Mazzanen did not win the world series last night. Stop calling him The Miz. We already have one of those.

But it it... It's a catchy simple name, so people wanna lean into it. It just feels disingenuous or at least like he would be paying Mizanin, aka The Miz, for each time it gets used.

But there is two levels to this victory that mean special to this panel. Number one, for Uke. Agreed.

Number two, the two hundred club. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, we don't use those words on this air. But you have FAU legend, Pat Murphy, managing the Milwaukee Brewers to the title.

Alex covering college. I'm covering pro because I've got the Thursday night football game on my studio TV, but let's talk about last week in the NFL. Last week, Thursday night football, Chicago giving three, and they win by four in a line that I thought was nothing short of insanity.

And it then turns into a shootout 30 to four of over under 50 and a half. Got there. Yep.

So there's that. Last Sunday Better if you had it at 48 and a half. Last Sunday, this has been an interesting week for me.

Been a roller coaster week, and it started Sunday afternoon. Mhmm. Although I did call it, I did say, give me the dolphins plus three and a half at the jets, and they win outright.

So we're not gonna be over. We're still a game behind the jets, but give it time. We'll talk more about it here in a minute.

I did also say give me Tampa Bay plus three at Carolina. Didn't need it because they win by 30. Still not buying the hype yet, but we're staying alive in the division.

That's all I can say. Baker and half his thumb. Steelers, I did take them minus three.

They win by six at the freewheeling saints who are now two and five. Same record as the bucs people. Yeah.

Falcons actually win outright at plus two and a half. We all so the niners get their first loss. I have not lost my belief yet.

Broken clock is right twice a day. Well, with that kind of an injury list, you can allow a loss like that going all the way across the country. They said a thing on PTI today about the NBA that going into tonight's games, 15% of the league is on the IR.

Oh. Already. Yikes.

Browns over the titans. Cleans... Cleveland giving one and a half wins by three.

I'm pretty sure I had that one too because the titans now one and six, and Cleveland's still first in the division. And the titans are only gonna get worse with the news today. The brewers win the world series.

Uh-huh. Cleveland leads the division. Uh-huh.

Get your stuff together, people. Jesus is coming. That's all I'm saying.

But you have Tennessee that's about to get worse because they're all world tackle. Jeffrey Simmons is on his way to Chicago Yeah. For a haul.

Vikings stay undefeated. They were get... Indy was getting seven.

And so if you took Indy on the points, you got it by one. I'm still not convinced about the Vikings. I'm still not completely sold.

No. The defense is real. The offense is still waiting to show up.

Ravens starting a little bit of a free fall as they get destroyed by Cincinnati. But they're dealing with a lot of injuries too. This team is plagued with injuries, but they lose 35 to 13 since he was only giving them three.

Your giants take it to overtime. Another overtime game that gets nutty in the fourth quarter, and and Alex texts me during the fourth quarter. He's like, I need the giants to lose, and then all caps, need them to lose.

Yeah. I was part of a survivor pool where we were down to the final, four people. Ugh.

The final four people, the winner getting $10, and I am number five. Gone. Broncos all over Arizona.

Believe I had that one with Denver giving four and a half. Lions over the pickers Yep. By three.

Ziggy not having a great weekend sports wise. Nope. And then he ties me in fantasy.

Now, Alex, I need to understand, though, Ziggy and I tied. I have never had a tie in fantasy football before, but I got the win. How does that happen?

It depends on how the the league is set up. More often than not, what you'll have is either quarterback scoring or bench scoring determining the win. Now personally, I...

When I set up a league, I just leave it as a tie, and you just let it roll because it's not gonna come into it. The points for the season will determine playoff seeding. Well, Apparently, there's a tiebreaker in your league.

Well... And apparently, either way, I think it was okay because on one side of it, I had Bo Nicks, and on the other side of it, I had Jamere Gibbs. So I think either whether it's bench scoring or quarterback scoring.

I think that middle same time, what you also may have had was a stat correction where it turned out that it went for being a tie where they were like, oh, that wasn't actually a catch. It was a run, and somebody had it. Because there was one that was stat corrected this week.

I do not remember specifically, but I literally saw somebody go from winning a matchup to losing a matchup because of that change. Rams over the raiders. I did say it was midnight Cinderella.

We are now seeing that. Rams were getting three and a half, which I thought was absolute insanity. Agreed.

Seahawks all over the chiefs. The chiefs get their first loss of the season on the road. Seattle given three, but had two more touchdowns than that, so they were fine.

But that was also having a lot to do again with injuries because the Chiefs had zero tackles to protect anyone in that game. And if you... In a game, if you took the under y on Monday night football, the cowboys get a win on the road at a limping eagles team.

Limping's giving them too much credit. And Dallas was getting four and a half in that game. Would you like an interesting note for this past weekend?

Sunday morning, we're we're all back in America now. Cowboys hosting the cardinals, Dallas giving them seven. I'm just not convinced that Jacoby Brissett is the answer.

So you know what? Give me give me Dallas minus seven. There is a lot.

It ain't gonna be much more, but they'll cover seven. There's a there's a lot of talk about Carson Beck, but Arizona has been this team that has kept close and named me a team that Dallas has actually stopped. So give me give me Arizona to cover.

And, Don has Arizona as well. In an NFC South battle from Raymond James Stadium for supremacy of under 500 records. Falcons, bucks, bucks giving two and a half, give me Tampa Bay.

I I can't believe the number is not the opposite way. I think Atlanta wins this game outright. Don agrees with me.

They're giving three, which makes it a pick. I'm still give me Buffalo. I think Buffalo is just gonna steamroll the Ravens because I don't think the wheels are on yet.

Well, there's also the rust factor coming off because Lamar Jackson has missed basically a month. So I think Buffalo still wins this, does cover, but this is one of those games where it's like when the second half happens and and everything's clean, assuming, this is going to be one of those fun second half games where the scoring starts going nuts. Is this the week that it's midnight for this Cinderella? I don't think so. I do like what Dan Campbell has been doing these last few weeks, but right now against the Vikings, I'm I'm not comfortable saying Detroit minus three and a half.

So give me the Vikings plus three and a half. Don says Detroit. Interestingly enough, I can confirm that a $500,000 bet did go in on the Vikings today that moved that line to minus three.

I am still taking the Detroit lions. Even though Minnesota should look better, they haven't accomplished anything on offense, and that Detroit team is the one that finds the way. I feel like there's going to be a late score that pushes them over that minus three.

In MetLife Stadium, not the Giants. Mm-mm. Host the Raiders.

These teams are a combined five and nine. Mhmm. New York giving a point and a half to the raiders.

As bad as the raiders looked last week, give you the raiders plus a point and a half just because the jets. Well... And the Jets looked bad against Miami who haven't looked good against Yeah.

Air. They may they may look like Buffalo, and that's weird for me. And and it's rare for me to take a tight line like this of a West Coast team traveling east and playing in the early set, but I've seen stuff from the Raiders that makes them look good.

I think this is going to be a great get right game for Vegas, and the jets are just gonna continue to be the jets. Don's got the jets. He can have them.

Cleveland goes to Accentuation Stadium. He doesn't watch the show. He has no idea about this bit.

I'm still doing it out. Do we let everybody in on it, though? No.

Aaron Rogers already ove... In four digit numbers passing this year. I just loved watching the clash with him and his head coach.

It's just fun to watch, especially when his head coach makes no bones about the fact that you don't have to read lips to know what he thinks of his quarterback. But you know what? Pittsburgh minus three and a half.

I don't know about the over on that one. Don Oliver says Pittsburgh, by the way. But I I do agree that you got Acupressure Stadium, which is the worst field in the NFL.

So I think Pittsburgh winds up winning this because of the defense, but we also live in a world where Deshaun Watson has multiple fourth quarter comebacks for the first place browns. What in the actual College, dude. Jesus is coming.

Casey Concepcion coming back from the concussion looked great last week. I think he's gonna give Pittsburgh fits, so it could go either direction, but I do think Pittsburgh winds up ultimately covering. Colts go to Jacksonville.

This is gonna be ugly. Jacksonville giving them 10. This is another one.

I feel like my pick would have been the opposite team up until this week. But when you have arguably one of the greatest guards who has ever suited up in the NFL get traded away from Indianapolis, the only guy that was protecting anything, They are in full fire sale. Give me Jacksonville to run it up.

Colts just squeaked one between the uprights to go up three nothing. I mean, panthers. Yeah.

Seattle giving three, which makes this a pick them. Yep. As much as I am tempted to go with the road team, my gut says you gotta take Seattle minus three because those three losses, it...

One of them was a little rough. The other two A little rough? A little rough.

At home, at Lumen Field, give me seahawks minus three. By the way, Don does have Philly over Washington. Mhmm.

And he has Chicago winning straight up as his upset of the week. I don't think that that's that big of an upset because it is a pick them. To me, I think Chicago should absolutely win this game because as I said in the preseason, Sam Darnold sucks.

Sam Darnold has always sucked. And now we're seeing him exposed because Clint Kubiak isn't there to protect him. That's why they're a near 500 team.

Give me Chicago. Alright. We don't have a ton of of entertainment stuff this week.

Most of it's gonna be within new releases. Yeah. So let's get into, not a fun week to be a Star Trek fan.

No. First, we lose Walter Koenig at the age age of 90, the OG Chekhov. Yeah.

Who is also the receiving end of the... One of the biggest blunders in Star Trek history and Star Trek two, and Khan says, I never forget their face. And Chekhov was not in the episode of Khan in the original series.

Also the father-in-law of one of my favorite comedians, Jimmy Pardo. If you have not watched his YouTube channel and watched Jimmy's records and tapes, what's wrong with you? It's it's pure joy.

But losing Walter Kenning, like, was crazy. And then today, I'm outside waiting on my DoorDash because it's McRib season, people. Mhmm.

I get a text from Marcus Blake, friend of the show, wanting to send well wishes on big news for me today. And I said, I thank you. And he goes, and then we lose Patrick Stewart.

I was like, I'm sorry. What? Yeah.

I didn't know. And he's like, yeah. And at first, I'm like, am I being punked?

Because I hadn't seen... Like Mhmm. Marcus is usually not somebody that breaks news to me.

Usually Yeah. By that point. So I hit the Google machine, and it was fifteen minutes after because the the headline said fifteen minutes ago.

And I was just like, no. Yeah. Ricardo hit me up within five minutes, and he's like, hold on.

It might be a hoax, and unfortunately, it is not. So what we will have is... And I I I genuinely hope there are good people who are around Ian McKellen right now, but Doomsday will be the final appearance.

I have not been watching anything. I've actually been on movies for the most part because the closest I have for that is I have started the Dungeon Crawler Carl series of books in preparation for the Peacock Show. And I will say that that first book is a lot of info dumping, but it's one of those where they set up the world and where it ends, you're just like, I'm sorry.

What? So spoilers, but Yeah. I think my wife is in book five.

I'm not actually gonna read them read them once I get caught up in more of the books. So I'm I'm now committing myself every day. I read a chapter in a book and then I do, like, I've got so many trades to trade paperbacks to read.

If it's a graphic novel, I'll read through it. If it's a trade paperback, I'll read an issue a day. The the the best way I have seen it described is I could tell you what the book is about, but if you actually listened and didn't know anything, you would think I was on a numerous amount of drugs.

Have you started reading Absolute Batman yet? I don't think you have given it to me yet. I gave you the first volume.

I'm I'm gonna have to check myself. So, no, I'd... I have not because I didn't think that.

Oh, okay. So I always remember when Animaniacs was making fun of him, and he he hit was a bad take, and he goes bad evening. So and, Netflix announced today that the diplomat has been renewed for season five.

My wife loves this show. I was gonna say I've heard great things I have not watched. TV on DVD and Blu ray this week, season one of the hunting wives.

We haven't seen that will be available. Season one of AMC's the vampire Lestat, George and Mandy's first marriage season two, season nine of Rick and Morty available this Tuesday, season 16 of SpongeBob SquarePants, and they're doing some interesting doctor who stuff. Okay.

They're doing a set that's the complete Matt Smith years. They're doing another set that set that's the complete Peter Peter Capaldi years. How many years has he been the doctor?

Was it was it like two or three? Yeah. And then they're doing another one for the complete Jody Whitaker years.

Okay. So they're they're they're doing it by doctor, which is kinda cool. Yeah.

They're doing a fifteenth anniversary limited edition. I think this is an Amazon exclusive for Game of Thrones. Okay.

The set looks pretty dope, dude. I'm not gonna lie. And What I thought would never happen happens on Tuesday.

That might be the best horror slash creature feature I've ever seen. That's... And, you know, there's a sequel.

But I... It also led to an interesting discussion that, Sean and I have been having of, is there a difference between horror movies and Halloween movies? And then what qualifies as a Halloween movie because you can have things that aren't necessarily scary but definitely fit the motif.

So like the Great Pumpkin. Like I said, I think all horror movies can be considered Halloween movies because of their nature, but not all Halloween movies are horror movies. Right.

Because you do have stuff like the great pumpkin, which I will probably be watching either tonight or tomorrow night Mhmm. Which available on Apple TV in high definition if you wanna watch that. I mean, you've got stuff like halloween town, hocus pocus, practical stuff like that.

But... And, of course, you've got Halloween episodes of television shows out to Watusi. But I I will say one of my favorite television bits with Halloween is the Bob's Burgers episodes where their outfits are almost always puns.

And the one that I always remember is Jean, the son, being Andre the Giant three thousand. So he's wearing the single... The the one top singlet, but he has the mustache and the puffy hat like Andre three thousand.

So I did... Well, that... This isn't a new trailer, but Arrow Video has announced that in December they are doing the four k for Bullet.

This is a horror film with Angus McFadden in it. Oh, okay. Your byline, the canvas follows Robert and his son Daniel in an isolated house where a disturbing painting seems alive.

As nightmares bleed into reality, a dark presence tied to the canvas awakens, turning trauma, fear, and memory into a living nightmare. We had writer, director, and star, John Real, plays Robert. And I'm gonna say hard pass.

There was a screening last night of a movie I also did not see called Christmas at the Kringles. Looks insane. The Severson family move into a suburban neighborhood where their neighbors, the Kringles, celebrate Christmas year round and harbor sinister intentions to hypnotize and indoctrinate them.

Ron Livingston, Rachel Bilson, Rob Riggle, Thomas Lennon At his most, Thomas Lennon. Beverly D'Angelo, Donald Faison. Those are all the names I recognize.

So, yeah, I I saw comedy horror. I was like, I don't know. By the way, friend of the show, Scrimshaw's, dead media hit streaming yesterday.

Nice. You can now stream it on the Amazon Prime. Excellent.

I recommend it. It's a lot it's a lot of fun. It's a good time.

Also, this week, we have the king of cannabis. This has Luis Guzman in it. Luis Guzman is always welcome.

And I I I have to give Sean credit because she was like, he has a particular set of fast and furious skills. Also has, Marissa Tomei and Ving Rhynes in it. She got that going for you.

We have Wicker. I cannot believe this is getting so many rave reviews, but then again, it is Alexander Skarsgard and Olivia Cole. By the way, Green Bay screwed the extra point up.

Of course, they did. Also this week, the the movie I have seen, the only living pickpocket in New York with the John Tuturo. I was bummed that I missed this screening because this looks good.
