This is beer thirty sports o'clock, and welcome. We are doing things a little different today. I am here with my favorite friends. I won't call them what I want, Caucasians. Yeah, so the Clone House Podcast. Hey, Boogie Down Productions at a live out. Yeah. It is. We are here at Clydeworn Park. On a beautiful Monday evening. Beautiful. This is breaking my brain. I'm in long sleeves, and I'm not off a little bit. Not 90,000 degrees in the second day of summer. I swore I smelled like bacon. That's Alex. I'm Rob. Smelled like bacon? I smelled like bacon. I was sweating That's not Alex. Oh my god. That's great. Thank you for clarifying that. Hey. Yo. What? It's like we have questions. We don't want answers. No. But no. I mean, if you're anywhere in the Metroplex and you're not hanging out at one of these venues, what is wrong with you? Yeah. Fan Fest is a vibe. Cliveworm Park is a vibe. You and I have both done Fan Fest. It definitely I hate seeing the word it's a vibe because I feel like I'm too old to say that. No, I'm not. You're never too old to catch a vibe, though. But yeah, mean, it's I did some live TikToks there last week. Say you're not that old. It's Well, you're not that old. He calls the most backhanded of compliments. Dude, 53 staring me in the face next week. You think I'm worried about it? Listen, I got 42 staring me in the face Wednesday. He is younger than me. Black don't crack, man. But we good. He can say that. I know he can. But when we're out here earlier today, we had Arch messy doing messy things. I mean, there's still quite a few There's a lot There's a fans out here right say about Argentinian fans is they are dedicated soccer fans. Yes. Let's just be clear. They love their team, but they wanna watch football. Yeah. Literally all day if they can watch football. And if you just record And on top of that, wanna make sure. Anybody that gives you grief about calling it soccer, let them know that British invented the term. Yeah. Not fact. Because they had to differentiate from rugby. So don't let people do it. It's it's not soccer. It's soccer because you guys did it first. Wait. But time out, did you know when where FIFA started? Do you know where it started? Not here. Somewhere corrupt. Valid point. I mean I was gonna say thanks for that sponsorship now. But you know, listen. We're gonna another another show. I didn't conversation. That's facts. But, no, it started in France. Bonnouille. And it's really weird, though, because France, I think this since the last time hadn't won it in, like, forty years or so. It was a while. It was it was like it was the whole we talked about this last week. You haven't had a back to back champs since the fifties. Yeah. Well, I mean, think about it. Like, The US is getting stronger at soccer. Team looks great. Looks really good. Let's not overhype. Would you rather be lucky or good? Lucky. There you go. Absolutely. Lucky. Okay. If we're talking that conversation, yeah. Mean, team in their first two matches have played very aggressive football. Yeah. I definitely agree. And I think that, yeah, this is what you get outside noise. We are literally downtown. Yeah. Facts. But they have definitely gotten lucky in the bracket in that they are in. They have they have shown signs of greatness. Okay. But with their best player being injured with a calf injury Here's my thing on that. And this was this was said the other day as I was watching a show on a network that we don't talk about because they don't pay us. Okay. This with Pulisic, if I'm running Glad you said it. Team USA, and this came up from someone who's very knowledgeable, and I give him all the credit in the world. This next match, because they've already won the group. Sit Pulisic. Sit anybody that's got a yellow card. Here's Yeah. Yeah. That's how goes. Sit this. Really, I don't want to say that this next match coming up on Friday Is it Thursday or Friday? Friday. Yeah. Actually, I need to I have notes right here. Yeah. I don't wanna say it doesn't matter, but it's not as important as it could be if we weren't two and o in the group. But see, here's the thing, though. Right? NBA playoffs, not to cut you off. No. No worries. NBA playoffs. Right? Whenever somebody swept somebody, right, it was always thought that rust is a thing. Going into the next group or the next stage of this World Cup finals, you cannot afford for Russ to show its ugly head. I no. I agree with you with that 1%. Cards. I agree. Pulisic gotta play, bro. You at least gotta play first half. You know what? I'll give you I'll give you the first half, but I also I get with the NBA talk because you have the same thing with baseball baseball and anything that has multiple games. But the way that football soccer is set up, it's individual game weeks. That's why they've calling game days. And if I don't think taking off is going to be that big deal And also, I would say he's sure. Let let me let me put it this way. There's no tiebreaker that they're gonna be running into. They are locked into their position. And they're number one. The the only reason that you would play somebody is if you do believe the rust aspect. I do not. So I would sit everybody. But even the coaches talk about it. But here's the other thing that you're looking at. To me, it's not a fair comparison because NBA playoffs, Major League Baseball playoffs, hockey playoffs, you're playing every other day. Yeah. If you're taking a week off between matches anyway, he's still practicing, he's still working out. Yeah. I mean Cardio stays up. The other problem, like, you say he has to play at least the first half. Here's the other side of that coin. If he only plays the first half, you've already lost a substitution and you only get five. That's a valid point, too. Even if you subbed him with the half. Can't talk about the substitution We used to only get two in the World Cup. Yeah. So we didn't have hydration breaks. We didn't have Qatar. I would say for the for the record, the hydration breaks is excellent idea. Because a lot of these teams if you look at where these matches are being played, in America especially, Canada maybe not as much, although they had a weird heat wave last Right. Like, for instance, playing here, where they might not have the choice to have the roof open or not. Also true. These conditions are for countries that aren't used to this. Yeah. So if it means I've got to put three minutes on the end of the half for it, I'm okay with it. However, my complaint about this sport has always been learn how to stop the clock. That's been my whole problem. Every other sport, we know how to stop clock. Love stopping. You are Rob continues to be on this island. Yeah. You are by yourself on that. I hate math. That's fine. But here's the thing, though. Right? The problem I have with that is is we didn't do this for Qatar. Yeah. I think Qatar is reason we're doing this. But but Qatar was 1000% worse than and it's dry. You can't breathe. Yeah. I have no doubt. Like, I've been to Qatar, and I can tell you right now, if you get caught slipping and not being hydrated, you could be standing still and fall out. I've been to Bakersfield. That's close enough for me. I I don't know that there's anything heat, but yes. Yeah. If there's anything I can do for twenty two and a half minutes and not need a beverage. That's okay. But like that's and here's the thing is like, there's they they you need to work it in. I'm not complaining. I think it's a great thing, but let's be honest. It is not for player safety. It's for ads. Oh, yeah. Thank you. It is for more monetary But I do I do wanna ask a separate question. You're talking about playing the guys with the rust concept. So say you need them or you want them to play the whole game. You're the manager in this circumstance. I don't know about the whole game. Well, no, no, no. But allow me. Yeah. One of the things that they were talking about and why Messi has had the longevity that he does is because he has filled his role and they were like, he doesn't run around much. He's up front. He's their striker. That's basically it. Would you go to like an old school four four two and just say you're playing in your position, you're keeping in get checked. We don't care about the result. Is that what you would do? So it's funny you bring up Messi because Messi is not the only player that does that. Mhmm. The the famous guy from Norway, and I can't say his name, the Holland. Holland does the same exact Yes. Does. Great head of hair. He loves yes. Lulls you to sleep. It is and it's not Which is crazy for a six foot five Because you're thinking he's he's taking a break. You're looking at him like, oh, he's taking a break. He's explosive. Next thing, he just Boom. Yeah. He's gone. Same thing for Messi. Same thing for Mbappe. Yep. Same thing that happened. It happened before with Henri. I'll let you get it off once. Don't we can't do it again. Yeah. But but it's also it it is a very French tactic, which is why in Bombay, why is it Don did it? So much faster. Henri used to look so much let me not take that away. Henri was fast as hell. Yeah. Was. Was. But He doesn't have to be anymore. He yeah. Right. Well, he came to New York where at the end of his career, it still ran laps around people. Around people. But he did that because of lulling people to sleep. That is it. Like you said, it's a French tactic. It's a tactic that they use for for the strikers because it's unfair to have the strikers. I don't know. I'm guessing. Yeah. As I say, wait. Yeah. But the the strikers are it's not fair for them to run all the way across and then be all sprinting all the way there. US needs to use their brains and understand there is nothing Mhmm. You gain from winning this game, but practice. What's the phrase you like? Practice. Don't know. What what's your favorite phrase about the preseason in NFL? The the games don't count, but the injuries do. Here's my thing. How many injuries do we get in soccer? I've seen plenty. Not is not a ton, but I've seen and I've seen enough to make me worry about. And that was that his leg the other day. Yeah. Yeah. Was caught. But the guy last night, he felt terrible. What can I talk to the announcers camera me announce that the highlight real quick? If somebody gets elbowed in the face and they may not look the same color as you, that does not mean that they are faking. Because the announcers last night were absolutely awful with their favoritism sounding because New Zealand was getting that pop put on them, thrashing. And instead of, you know, he's just playing a great game and this, that, and third, I kept hearing about how New Zealand was in shock and not really participating. And then when the kid gets elbowed in and I say kid loosely because I don't know how old he is. Let's be honest. Everybody in this is younger than us. Facts. Well, the the goalie from the goalie from Mexico that's coming in his forties. So I mean Cape Verde. Yeah. No. No. No. Oh, Verde. So I found out today. But no. The It's actually Cape Verde. Oh, okay. Cape Verde. It is I found that out today. But the the the goalie from Mexico that's gonna play in their last game Oh, yes. He is 40 years old. But Cape Verde, yes. And shout out to them for bringing his mom in. Yeah. Well, eventually. Died in the first place is crazy. But, yeah, announcers, man, that was terrible. Oh, they they were talking like he was faking. The man the man got up with his eye swollen shut. Well, here's Concussion. Here's the other piece to that too. People wanna complain about the the video assistance. I am here for the video assistance because the video assistance has shown us multiple times in this tournament alone Yeah. The difference between contact and flopping. I genuinely think Charlotte Flair comes closer on a chop than some of these guys do, you have to get it on the replay. But at that same time, I feel like the pushback on this one is because of how old the sport is compared to even countries not existing. And they just don't want they just don't want to change. Now I get that. It's just like baseball. You're gonna complain if it doesn't go your way. You're gonna love it if it does go your way. It's the way it goes. But I think I think a lot of that is the crazy thing about it is is I think a lot of that is it's it's same thing with the hydration breaks, same thing with the substitutions, it's change. Yeah. And, honestly, majority of us do not like change, do not want change, and that's all it is. And maybe it's because I'm so late to the game itself. Like, I was a kid, the area I grew up in was soccer intensive. Alex knows this. The Quad Cities My next door neighbor was the one that ran this. It wasn't Yeah. It wasn't Ran the entire league. Yeah. It wasn't my thing. As I've gotten older, I've learned to appreciate the sport more. I went to an FC Dallas match once. It's not good for my ADD because there's 19 drum lines all playing at the same time during the game. There's no there's no rules to that, and that drives me to the brink. But watching and and and you talk about the commentating. I have watched most of I've I think I've only missed, like, four matches total so far. Wow. But I'm also watching other things for our show, which Thursday night, 08:00 eastern. So I've got FIFA. If there's not if I've got something else I need to be watching, I've got that on a laptop here. So I'm not necessarily listening to that commentary, which I think has benefited me on a certain level because of two things. Number one, the graphics have gotten better on interpreting things that normally I would rely For sure. On them to do. The other thing, somebody's listening to our show because what started two days ago? The overhead Madden cam Yep. Started two days ago. And I said last week, on Thursday, they need to have the Madden cam. We had an entire segment on This is the this is the one sport for me that it benefits from just about anything else because you that's how you watch the Yeah. Play No. And I think I think that's it's genius. And if you did, you know, somebody might have been listening. But I'm just saying. You know? We we've had a few instances like that. Brother's always watching, so it's fine. But I do think Somebody's cell phone just randomly picked it up off of YouTube. Hey. I'm just saying. Hey. I don't care if they watch as long as they click. Yes. Exactly. Click and subscribe. Like, subscribe, all the things. Wherever you get your podcast and listen to your podcast or watch your podcast, YouTube, net. Sunset Lounge, DFW. Sunset Lounge, DFW. Yeah. You guys are both gamblers. Yes. Allegedly. And so I like to feed the beast a little bit. Wanna give you a couple stats to follow-up what we've been talking about on our show. Okay. Mhmm. The two things that I've been watching because it's it's interesting to me when you watch it from a soccer standpoint or from a hockey standpoint. The over under right now. Mhmm. We have played officially 39 matches. The fortieth match is currently going on Right. In Philly who's on ring delay. Right. The the favorites, according to DraftKings, this is where I'm getting it from you from you from Yahoo. K. As of 02:00 Central today Okay. The favorites are 17 of 39. Wow. So seventeen and twenty two. Well, how many draws? But again, you don't win for a draw. Right? Well, you could bet a draw. But I'm just saying if you just bet on the favorite to win. Yeah. Well, no, no, no. I'm I'm trying to clarify wins, lost draws. I'm like, wait. Yeah. Because we're talking because I'm like, you bet on every favorite right now, you'd win seventeen seventeen seventeen out of 39. Okay. The over Oh, this is on has hit 19 of 39. Yeah. That's right. Which it's kind of interesting that they until yesterday, they were neck and neck. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's crazy. So I've hit on a couple overs. You know, I've I've been doing a lot of watching going, okay. We're eating one one more goal. Mhmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know? And here's the thing about it is, like, it's it's one of those things where, like, I do feel that FIFA I said take it back. The hydration breaks back to that. Mhmm. Back to the substitution. Rewind. Yes. The the over under is is being helped by that. Absolutely. So, like, because again, you get fresh legs, you get people that are sprinting, that they're they're hydrated better. Now to clarify one of the statements, it's it's helping the over. Yeah. It's not helping the over under. It's helping the over under. Sorry. Not the under. I just wanted to clarify. That's a fair point. That's a fair point. But it's and and then on the other point of that, that's I'm glad you brought that up because I was gonna talk about that. Mhmm. Underdogs of this final world cup, whatever the case may be Mhmm. Have been the most entertaining stories. Yes. You're not wrong. Absolutely. Who was it yesterday? Just yesterday alone. Ivory Coast. I'm not gonna lie. I've been enjoying taking the over corrections. You know, you Oh, that's a great story. That's great. I'll have Germany. Four countries out of the 48 that have never been in a World Cup before. Yes. One of them yesterday got their first goal ever. Which I think but and then you look at And Egypt got their first win. Yes. Ever. Ivory Coast. It's been Move the mic up. But I'll tell you who I feel bad for more than anybody. Thank you. Tunisia. Why? Why? You play a game, you fire your coach. I mean, And then bring another you then you go down four nil to Japan in your next game. Yeah, that's valid. So now what are you going to do? Yeah, that's Like, if you're in that group, you're like, we don't have a soccer program anymore. We're just going back to Star Wars Tourist. If you're if you're if you're in group f, there's one team left for them to play. Yeah. They're just salivating at this point. There's a Belgium's been giving up a lot of goals too. Belgium is Belgium to me has been the weirdest story or the team of this this thing because they were supposed to be like actually one of the favorites. Yeah. I wouldn't say they were top 15. It's like they have been absolutely abysmal. I'm Before the tournament started, I picked Spain to win the whole thing, and then they get taken to a draw. Yeah. Hey. I've reached I was Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast. Honest to God truth. Ivory Coast, and Cape Verde might be my two favorite to go deep in the tournament. My two favorites to go deep the tournament. That because I love a good underdog. Yeah. No. Ivory Coast for sure because they have the athleticism, and they have the they have the the the I'm thinking of Cape Verde's goalie. But they do have the athleticism to do it, and they could score and run with everybody. And I think that's this is not their first The Spain draw was Cape Verde. Okay. It was Cape Clarify. Was had to be one of the two because those were the two big stories so far. So that's what it was. So that and I was right. The goalie, they have the right goalie in there, and they both of them have the most athletic team out there on the pitch about half of the time, more than half of the time, and they just need to I really feel like they need to get coaching together. If they could get a good manager, coach, whatever the case should be there for that team like Tunisia couldn't do or Portugal is figuring out, which by the way, Reynaldo, man, it's come off the bench. It's tough. Well It's tough. But there I loved watching him interact with everybody, though. That was kinda fun to watch. Yeah. For sure. But I just he's 41 now. He's he's not as as he's it he looks lost. He looks like he doesn't he looked like he didn't practice with the team. He looked like he lost. He has, and he was in Saudi Arabia. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, yeah. He just looks like, hey. Look. Maybe this isn't the time to let your pride or ego control the situation. But, unfortunately, we're talking about a arguably a GOAT. I don't think he's coming off the bench, and the coach ain't gonna do it. So He he feels like he's there for the ride to get to the knockout round and then be used strategically, which is sad for somebody like you said in goat conversation. I mean, but it's not. It's it's it's here's the thing. We didn't expect when Jordan went to the Wizards, and I bring up other yeah. We didn't think Jordan was going we knew it was time to go. Yeah. Like, it it it is what it is. And you can't really Father Time has never lost. But but there's also the argument there that's a little bit different because he was in ownership at that point. They needed to sell tickets. Right. It wasn't even about him continuing as much as it was making money. But I mean, circling back to what you were saying, it's like it's really interesting because all they have to do is get to the knockout round because these teams that come from smaller countries that have a keeper that is maybe going on a leader. All you got to do is get to the PKs in the World Cup. Yep. And anybody can win. Anybody game. Now Whoo. Getting there is another story. I don't about anybody's game because Messi missed one today, but Hey. Can I I also wanna talk about logistics of this tournament and and how much joy it has brought me in the age of social media, in the age where everything's online all the time? Seeing the number of people from other countries that are just living their best life Mhmm. In this country leading up to Food. Food. Yeah. Watching the the absolute demand by British fans. How is it that the Britain doesn't have ranch? Did you see that? Their minds. Which is crazy. You know, it's funny, though. It's like, if you I don't know if either of you have been to London, but if you look at their food, it's very it's very not it's very bland. It's sustenance. It's not success. Yeah. Am not having baked beans for that. No, that that's a that's a Gordon Ramsay. I'm not putting baked beans on anything, much less for breakfast. But you know I'm saying? Like, that is one of the things that you when you look at Did you see the Bob travels from today where he had I forget if he called it Texas or Mexican wine, and they gave him a bottle of Tidos. I mean, the watches are sound. But to Mexican see people wine is crazy. That's not a No, no. No, no. He had a handle and went and finished it. Oh. Yeah. They didn't have a ton left, He was but he was definitely not Oh, that'll put hair on your chest. He was definitely But not seeing, like, just seeing our country through other people's eyes is always fast. Like, one of my favorite YouTube channels but one of my favorite YouTube channels is called and it's these two British guys that will come over to America for, like, two weeks a year. Like, last year, they went to the Detroit Lions playoff game and tailgated through the Yeah. Seeing people experience Buc ee's and seeing just, you know, like we talked about in pre show, like, you guys can get free refills on everything. Everything. Pretty much. Yeah. Like, I mean, why do you think, you know, we're big over here? And we're big. I I don't care. I'm here for it. Listen. Listen. You know? Hey. No disrespect. Done taken. But I don't drink soda anymore. But when I did, oh, I was a refilled monster on Sprite. Sprite and Fanta or a little splash of lemonade with I don't know. Call somebody. Here's the exact thing I have. Heard one person say nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. And I told her to have a Twinkie and get out of my car. Exactly. Because I like food. I'm a foodie and I ain't scared of it. Listen, don't let my body size fool you. I'm a foodie as well. I love food. I just run it off because And I'm like not also watching how the populace here has embraced these other cultures, like The Netherlands and their march to Yeah, the right. Tartan Army everywhere. Norway has yo, the Tartan Army. Oh. Tartan Army is ridiculous. Here's my thing with the Tartan Army. My one issue, we have outlawed the Vuvuzela, but there's that one guy that's playing bagpipes the entire match. But, sir, you know Sir, you respect the culture. Do know he is playing an entire set list? They have not repeated one song for the whole tournament. That is amazing. I know artists Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, take note. These fools out here playing a 100 songs a day. They run out of I cannot wait to hear Dream On on the bagpipes. Damn. They have not run out of nothing yet. Horrible. Do you know Car Wash? That's all I'm saying. They have not run out of But, like, but, again, the way like, The Netherlands brought their bus with them. You know? Like and just the way people in every city, whether it's Seattle, LA, New York, Philadelphia, Miami Houston. Kansas City. Just in Kansas City just embrace did you guys see the pregame over the weekend where they were in Kansas City, and they brought out the barbecue? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I can't remember which two guy but the guy in the middle was like, I'm holding the tray. I'm like, something tells me he's vegetarian and nobody's figured it out because he would not touch that rib with a 10 foot pole. But you know what's crazy, though? It's like like it's it's I think what it is is America, we don't fully understand soccer, football as, like like, how devoted the fans are. Yes. It's like us for Friday Night Lights. Like football in in the South is God's sport. Right? It is religious Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We do not move it now Monday and Thursday. That Friday Night Lights best written book I've ever read. And it's not even close. One of the best sports movies. But watch oh, don't even get me started on YouTube and your sports movies. To do hockey and not even talk about Mystery Alaska, are you insane? Do you know why I didn't put it in there? Because it when I lose it up so wanted to dagger him right there, and I can't can't do it to my bud. Looking I I I've never seen it, so I couldn't put it up there. And I believe the the movie you were trying to think of was Glory Road with Ben Affleck. No. Ben Affleck wasn't in Glory Road. It was old boy from That was Josh Lucas. Yeah. But What what was the one that Affleck did that you guys Oh, that was the comeback or the Yeah. It was Something along those lines. Something. Yeah. Let's Hold on. I'll magic box. You guys have magic But I can't I don't have mine right now. What what I will say to the reason we don't understand is because we haven't adapted to this sport as fully as fans yet. Right? I would agree with that a thousand percent. And I had I had a conversation with somebody, and they were like, man, I don't understand why it's so much traffic already and all these people here and all this, this, that, and third, and they're doing so much roping off certain blocks and this. And I said, you have no idea how many people are coming to this country because the one thing about Europe that is great is you can go to so many countries in a day. Well, they said that when Germany had the World Cup Yes. They talked of this on Sunset Soccer Club. Mhmm. You could buy if you had your ticket to the match you could take the rail anywhere you Anywhere wanted in the country. To any yeah. Wherever that rail went, you could go. So And we don't have that just because we don't have that level of infrastructure. But because we Thanks, Jerry. Because no. Wait. Wait. Time out. We can that's funny. The way back. That's what it was. The way back. I don't think I've seen that movie. But time out. The reason we don't have that is because we have we are not countries. Mhmm. Right. We are states. And I heard somebody from Europe say, oh, well, you know, the the Americans don't travel as much. They're not well traveled, just that and third. And I was and he but the European guy was like or the American guy was like, well, that's true. But if you go to different states, it's like being in a different country. It's also different by just distance. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like, don't get it messed up, Texans. We're huge. Yeah. Right? But you go to Louisiana, completely different world in Louisiana compared to the to Texas. And they're connected to each right next door. You go to Alabama, completely different world from Louisiana. So it's like Was there also the other part like you could literally go El Paso to Dallas and you go a further distance than Paris to Berlin? Well, yes. From Dallas, El Paso is halfway to Los Angeles. Yeah. No. Facts. And it's like and then if you go to to California, it's like you have to just think about it. Like, we are so accustomed to like, when I see people post, like, the states that they've been to, and I think to myself, like, god. I've been, like, 40 states. Yeah. And then I'm like, but I've also been across this overseas and across the world. And I'm thinking in my head, like, wait till y'all see what's over the shining sea. Yeah. Wait till y'all see what's over there. I've only been overseas once. I was 16. My mom took me to Madrid with her for two weeks on a business trip. And I'm gonna tell you something. Spain Is off the chain. Dear god. Mhmm. Like, Spain and then this is now, what, thirty some almost thirty six years ago. Right. This was I still remember it to this day. Yeah. Now granted, I wasn't smart enough to sleep on the plane and slept twenty two hours the first night. My mom called the room and was like, can you get up? I'm like, what? She's like, it's noon. I mean I was like, I'll be down for breakfast. I'm James. I loved my extended stay in Italy when I was younger, but we don't talk about certain things. And Okay. Yeah. Alright. Well But yeah. But you're absolutely right. And and seeing you know, because my one of my big concerns was how are they going to be when they're here. And seeing the international fans just eating up Listen. Everything about this country and us embracing them the way we have Right. Has it's just brought me joy in a world of darkness. Well, because somebody listen. Because here's the thing is we don't dislike any countries. We don't. Like, real talk. We would we want them to come visit us. We wanna visit them. Yeah. It's it has nothing to do with that. Like, real honest truth is, especially around sports. Americans understand that. We have 15 sports here. Yeah. They have one in most countries. They have one. So when they get here, their passion for soccer, football is so great that we as Americans understand that language. Yeah. We are passionate about football. We are passionate about baseball. I'm sorry. Go ahead. No. No. I I was gonna say in that same vein, I got a buddy of mine that lives in England. He described it as basically you think about your pint glass. If you're in America, you're filling maybe the smallest amount with each avenue, whether it be a sport, whether entertainment. When you get to other places, they may only have three things that go into that glass. So it takes it all. And and look at look at when the NFL plays their international games. Mhmm. Yeah. And they pack those. I always say the funniest thing I always look forward to every year is when they play in London and people show up in Patriots gear. It makes me laugh because I go, I want to do You know what that is, right? We're far removed. We're far removed But from see, like, you know, the NBA now playing overseas. We're still making the English villains in movies. I don't care. The NFL now, this year, they're gonna play a game in Sydney. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and seeing how the international fans, even because I've even sort of like, we don't really understand the game, but we just wanna be here for it. Right. Yeah. And I kind of feel like I was that way for a really long time, and I've gotten a lot closer with soccer than I have. And part of that's because being around people that you know, I had somebody asking me questions. They're like, I'm sorry. I'm asking so many questions. I'm like, no. I had these same questions myself. No. You know? Help me. Help you. Right. And I also and I don't want to exclude Alex from any part of the conversation, but I kind of have to on this next piece because Have fun. He has not done Fan Fest yet. You and I have. Listen. Oh, there's that bus I just got thrown under. No. Opportunity. Right. It's a game. I don't have a job. I heard you go, like, a game. Wait. Wait. It was why is the trip? So so first off, if you haven't been to FanFest And every city that's hosting games has one. Yes. You need to go to FanFest. The one here in Dallas is at Fair Park. Are we allowed to say that? I'm saying it. Alright. It's at Fair Park. It's in South Dallas. And don't be It's at the South Dallas Park. Yeah. Don't be fooled they host the fairway. Don't be fooled by all of the, wildness you will see outside of FanFest. It is very safe Well, in some cases inside. Yes. It is very safe and welcoming at FanFest. But the the the pop ups, the interactive Yes. Things that they have, me, my son, my girl, her like, we were just having a You see, I got to I was there during the middle of the day. You got there at dusk, so the stuff was lit up, which was kinda cool. So and then on top of that on top of that, the the watching the game experience Oh my god. Screens everywhere. Yeah. So if you even if you get there late, which, by the way, the Mexico or the Colombian game and the Mexico game Mhmm. Were basically back to the field. Sold, like, sold out, quote unquote. And you and it's and you don't yeah. Well, some of it is. There there is actually pricing tiers. But to go to the Starplex and to be able to sit on the lawn Right. And watch I mean, you got the two big screens that face the lawn, but then you've got four screens under the canopy that you can see one that takes up most of the stage. Yes. Yeah. And it's all in four k. And there's you've also got you've got a screen in the kids area. Yes. Which is where you can take your picture with the big version of the trophy. You've got the the Choctaw has their own screen Yes. Out there. A couple of the casinos have a really good spread out there. And it's there's there's not a bad there's not a bad place to watch any of the matches. No. It's really not. And I feel like the, the Fan Fest, the greatness that again, I think that Texans didn't or Americans didn't understand how great it was going to be here. And when they took over the park, like, I mean, there are picture opportunities. There are video opportunities, and it's just so it's everywhere. I got a bracelet. They're giving out bracelets. You did the Bank of America thing? That's the one thing I couldn't do because I should have done it early. Yeah. Because I was, like, at 02:00, and there was there was 500 people in that line. There's nothing. I sent I sent the minions. They went they went early in the morning because I was like, get y'all ass up. If y'all wanna go, get the bracelets. Everybody got bracelets, including me because they went and stood in line the second time for me. And then also, like, the merch. Great. Shout out. The merch store was cool, but what scared me was that you had to go order a jersey from somewhere. And I'm like, if I have to go somewhere and I can't take this off the rack, there's no way I can afford it. Well well, a $120. It wasn't that bad. Actually, not as bad as I was thinking. Say it wasn't that. I looked it up. Did that include the personalization or no? No. It did not include the personalization. But the thing of it was that I thought was funny because the the the one by the TVs Okay. Had a better setup, like better merch than the big one. And the big one, we went in to take pictures, and I was like, oh, let's walk around and see if they got any good merch. The best thing they had was like the balls and the fluffies. Well, I got this I got this shirt there. The shirt Which I like because on the back of it, you can see it's got all the countries and stuff. That is fine. There's a YouTube channel I follow. And this guy's name is Harrison Neville. Do because I got a lot of time now. But Harrison Neville, what he does is he gets like Amazon return pallets and things like that. Bought Oh, wait a minute. You have no idea where this is going. Storage unit for $3. Oh, I saw this. The Adidas thing? Yes. The Adidas I followed him for months. Some of the merch he had that was that was samples. There was a shirt that they had that I wish they would have sold because it had the logo and gold on the front, And on the back, it had all the dates for all the first round matches Wow. With the cities. Because that's what I'm big into. When I go to a concert, I want all the dates and the cities on the back. Okay. But I will say, like, I this was the only shirt I really liked because I liked my shirts to have something on the back. This merch was really weak. I I was did like that they had, like, game day section. Like, you could have bought a Ghana jersey that day out on the floor. Yeah. Yeah. But it's also air conditioned, which helps. You're if you got your visa because they're a sponsor, you get 10% off your purchase, which is have veterans discounts. So I was gonna I'm glad to say, you've got me on my pedestal. Thank you. Because why the hell are you in America and not having veterans discounts or military discounts Gotcha. Got Visa. I thought I did. I did go to the I went to the Kia and got my and got my name on the I got my picture on the the little card. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was kinda cool. And I know that, like, UT Southwestern did the same thing. Powerade did something that was inside. Couldn't quite He about to make me mad. Go ahead. It's alright. Go ahead. I want to hear this because you raised your hand. I don't disagree with it being excluded, but only because they're trying to keep it as neutral as possible with a lot of people coming from other countries who I hate to say I get Wait. Wait. Who may have military experience that they are not benefiting from, thus creating a negative vacuum of, oh, because you're from here, I don't get this. So And I want to clarify, I started with, I don't disagree. So there is no debate here. Alright. So we just move in. Well, wait a minute. The first thing I saw when I walked in there and I unfortunately, it's kinda separated from everything else. Did you see the thing about women in sports? The little walk through exhibit they had? No. So it's off to the side, which is very sad to me. Yes. I see. Could Bri's yelling at me right Brie can't stare at me for this because I'm supporting you on this. I She's mad me. She's mad at me because I, like, I say I support women, I was like, I didn't even know they had But here's the first thing. My bad. It's so far away from everything else. See, that's If you weren't in the middle of everything you said, it was over there by more like the like the first aid and stuff like this. Not Oh, okay. So, yeah, we didn't even go there. But it's it's about 30 yards long. You walk through this, and there's statues of different women. And each statue has a QR code so you can scan it and learn more about them. That's what's up. Which I wish I wish it was closer to the hoopla. Yeah. But I it was the first thing that the entrance I went into was the first thing I saw. So but what's really interesting on that one is if they do follow at Sunset Lounge DFW on YouTube and all of their social medias are go to stolenwatermedia.com. There may be a connective tissue coming up on your dark companion to that exact exhibit. It's a great it's it's I know how it's done. Home Depot had a cool spread even though they didn't have any cool stuff. Oh, shout out to my son who won me my Father's Day gift. He won me a $50 gift card at Home Depot. That is cool. Little thing next to the bracelets. There was a soccer kicking thing. Maybe I should have kept paint. They called it Beckham's backyard, which is kinda funny. That's crazy. But then there was, like, a a thing on the wall where the the painting, I guess. And then when I was over there, he went over there, and I guess he grabbed the right piece. And they they were like, oh, you won a $50 gift card. He's like, oh, great. He thought it was like just a regular Visa. Oh, that's cool. I was like, no. It's a Home Depot one. He was like, Home Depot. What is Home Depot? I said, you don't need that. So you don't need to tell happy Father's Day. What you didn't need to tell him is if you go to Home Depot's website, they have pretty much Amazon does. No. No. That's listen. I didn't tell him on purpose. I didn't tell him on purpose because I wanted it for Father's Day. Yeah. But, yeah, like I need a new toolkit. Michelo had it where you could pose with that moment of the match trophy, which I did. Did you go to the Coca Cola thing? I did go to Coca Cola thing. Got Don didn't Let's see. I got the cape. Got Don didn't know it was a cape. He thought it was a flag. It's a flag. I'm like, no, I got mine. Let me show you. And it's got it's got armholes in it. Yes. And I was like, this is and they like, you could oppose next to one of the and did you do it all through all of the things? Because they're giving away game use soccer balls if you do all the things. So, no, I didn't do all the things because I'm not painting this pretty face. I just do no. No. I just scan the QR code. I'm like, I don't like stuff on my skin, but I will scan that QR code. Not. So my son was like, baby. But I was like, nah. You break out way too easy too. And then the girls were absolutely not doing it. So I was like, yeah. We And I was kinda bummed that buying a Coke at the Coke thing was the same price as that it was at the For sure. At the you know, it's like, hey. But you but it's cheaper for you. It's free for you to bring these in here. Yeah. No. Cut cut a brother a dollar. $7 for a bottle of Coke. Greed. I still paid it. Don't get me FIFA and their sponsor should be renamed to Greed Gluttons. And it should but but still redundant, but so is FIFA. But still, like, that fan fest was so much And you can you can do it in a couple three hours. It's not something that you have to spend all day if you don't have the time. Right. But if you wanna sit there and watch the matches Yeah. You have ample opportunity. Here's what I'll tell you. For all of us who are getting either priced out or being Ticketmaster bamboozled, Fan Fest is the next best thing because one Yeah. The people that go usually are die hard die hard fans. Genuine Genuine fans that just cannot afford to go to the games. Right? And like we went to the Panama Ghana? Ghana, Panama game. And Ghana Ghana's fans were ungodly. They like, because they don't want you in the walkways. Right? Oh, they were running up and down with the flags. They were, oh, they were going crazy. And so are Panama fans, but they didn't have much to cheer about at the end. But Mexico, I heard they were, like, having people on, like, raising people on the, on the crowd. They had to turn people away because there's so many people showed up. Colombia, same thing. Argentina, I know it was crazy, but I didn't show it much video of it. But listen, this is what I was saying in the beginning is that Americans, we didn't really understand it. But now that we're seeing the passion, you can't do anything but fall in love Yeah. With the passion that the fans have. And if you don't, you have no soul. Because Yeah. Like, forget the games because you may not understand the draws and all that stuff like that, but the the the passion that the fans have But Fox has been doing a very good job explaining that too, where it's like, this is and I like how even in during the match, if it ends now, here's how things look. Well, there's one thing I wanna touch on, like, were talking about, like, with the diehard fans, with the Fan Fest being in I mean, look at what we have on the other side of these cameras with everything being here. Essentially, in a park Yeah. Watching the games together. And this is happening all over the world. Gorgeous Clyde Warren Park. Absolutely. Thank you very much. And this is your dark commandion did that episode about it. Like, for people that don't understand, Clyde Warren Park is not a natural park. No. It is built on an overpass. And we have another one in South Dallas now. South Dallas by the zoo. I was hoping they did something over there for that because it's new. It's brand new. It looks amazing. I've I've put some bugs in some mirrors. I'm hoping. Oh, there you go. But there there's food trucks out here. Yeah. People are out. It's dog friendly. It's family friendly. There's all kinds of restaurants because you're right in the middle of downtown. Oh, Facts. And it's there's always like where we are right now, they do concerts on this stage. Yeah. There's always something going on at Clyde Warren Park. Here. I'm hoping to very soon if we can get that done. Yeah. Shout out Grace Descending, October 17, Terrell, Texas. Yeah. This this is a great place to watch because there's a huge screen over to our right. It looks really good. Like, they're a his band. Oh, amazing. Yeah. Really? Grace Descending. That's my band. October 17? October 17 in Terrell. BrownPen Cowboy Church in Terrell. Okay. I can't. I get a promise. I I asked that you make an effort, and we're good. October is a long way away. But we had to book it that far in advance. But yeah. But in that far, like, no offense. I drive it every I drive it every week. Yeah. He does. And it's a great I love my church. I do. We can talk about that another time. But, you know, for people that are worried, like, I can see from here ample facilities. Oh, yeah. Like Oh, yeah. The porta potty row is happening over there. There's stuff going on multiple stands. Yeah. Restaurants and the restaurants have gotta During the day, there was a lot of food trucks. That was a really cool selection. Corny dog truck here, and they left before I could get to it. Yeah. Hey. Gotta be quick enough. But it's and it's, you know Oh, yes. Gotta be yes. It's it's a little warm. It's 91 degrees because it's Texas in June, but but it's a good 91. I was gonna say it's 90 little breeze coming through, and then the sun is not beaming down. So here's the thing, though. Regardless of that, I can guarantee matter of fact, I passed by here during the day with one of the games going on over the weekend, and it was still packed. Just the guy repping my dolphins out here. Out here wilding out. Wow. Who lost a bet? Yeah, right. Is that a Chad Pennington number 10? No. Is it right there? I am so confused. Somebody make this man stand up. Yeah, standing up. Look right there. My God. It is. You know that's Tyreek Hill. You don't think I would recognize the Dolphins jersey from across the field. That is Sorry. I was looking for a classic jersey. I try to pretend like these current ones don't happen. He's wearing 10 like it's messy. No, sir. That is Tyreek Hill. But it is Miami. He's trying to adapt. Miami, and it's number 10. He's two thirds of the way. Two thirds is true. If you wanna understand the impact Crazy that that is true. Yeah. Impact. Mathematically factual. Two places I have bought USA jerseys. One's one's like a gold keeper sweater that they wear. It's a little bit colder, the longer. Mhmm. That one and I got a white USA jersey that is branded Mhmm. Old Navy, number one. Really? Number two, I bought I should've known that yesterday. Alex saw the blue jersey that I have. That's got the it's got the embroidered patch right here. Mhmm. You know where I got that? Buc ee's. Yep. Okay. So every buy by the way, you can buy USA gear pretty much everywhere Mhmm. To be honest because everybody's on board. And Mexico too. But I have a conspiracy theorist. Strange strange point bro. Strange point out. And they all know I'm a conspiracy theorist. Why is Volkswagen the emblem on The USA jerseys? Aren't they a German based country? Or I am not following you on this logic. What do you mean? Volkswagen is a literally No. No. This is trying to make the connection. Volkswagen is German because it literally means the people's wagon in German. In Germany. But where is this connection to the jersey? It's on The USA jersey. I I'm gonna have The answer to all of your questions is money. Yes. I know that. But but I'm saying, like, Ford, Chevy, y'all ain't got the bread. What are we doing? It's FIFA. Yeah. And not to Whoever pays the most. But can I Why is where was the last World Cup? Where's the next World While we're while we're talking about the jerseys, I wanna say something that I think is really neat the way they're doing it. And not everybody does it in the same place, but if you watch and I noticed this, I think, with Australia because it was right in the middle. Yeah. It's the team and they're playing, the date and the city on every jersey. Oh, really? Yeah. Look close. You have to look But I think part of the reason they're doing that is that way they can sign the Game Worn jersey to auction off, which I think is cool because now you know it came from that specific match. And I think that's awesome. That is awesome if they're donating the money. I hope so. I I allow me to live in my allow me to live my delusions if nothing Yeah. As I was like, I don't think so. I noticed it when they were interviewing that guy from was it New Zealand whose, like, followers went from 10,000 to 10,000,000 over? Follower jumps that are going on. Oh, I love that. It's Cape Verde is at 40,000,000 or 50,000,000 now. He was at, like, 4,000 earlier before the tournament started. After he saved all the goals against Spain, everybody was like, oh, we gotta follow this guy. And then, of course, he follows back all the women. I just But you but you kinda feel bad for him at that point because because then they're like, oh, no. Now I gotta do content. But he's actually not a bad follow on Twitter. If you follow him on Twitter or x, he's not I call it x Twitter because it works on multiple levels. It does. It's Twitter. I'm not calling it what Elon wants me to call it. Here, here. He's not a a bad follow on X Twitter. And but Instagram, I I don't know. I don't follow him on Instagram, but I foresee I foresee a lot of thirst traps coming because what do you mean coming? They're already here. Well, I'm saying for every every match I watch, they cut to the crowd and all I can think is, oh, yeah. No, no, no. No. I'm saying as far as Hosting them on the yeah. No. No. Listen. Five fan bases, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina. No. No hate. No hate. No hate at all. But You can ask either one of us. Yeah. But I will say, Ivory Coast has a very they're in the top five as well because I see some very good talent there, and I'm not talking on the field. But anyway, Ladies. I wish I could do six pack of the week because I've seen some great stuff and beer goggles too because, Interesting. Man We have two matches going at once right now for the first time because of the delay in delay. And Norway's already up one nil. And then we then we go double up officially on Wednesday. Yes. Yes. Yes. Because we've gotta we've gotta get through match day three. Yeah. Because everybody's gotta play three. Actually, Norwich's about to hit halftime at the same time as France ending. What's the what's the update on that match? What's the on that match? What's the Three nil France. Oh, okay. I mean, we and Bopay score. Yeah. France was your favorite at minus 1,200. Your over under is three and a half, so it still may not hit. By the way Always bet the under on France. Yeah. No. Facts. They they they turtle. Well, I've also heard that, like, late in the second half, they just give up. Yeah, that's the turtle. Yeah, because, yeah, because they scored two or three. But Mbappe, so everybody's talking about Messi today. Messi got the goal, highest goal scoring. Got two. He got today, but he's like, what, 15 in overall for 18. 18. Excuse me. I know that because I read an article where they screwed up and just went to the they broke the record with his eighteenth. No. That was the seventeenth Yeah. Where he got ahead of Miroslav close, And then there was 18. And now he has 18. He is the leader right now. But And Buffy is not far behind by the way. At 14. He's like He's at he was at 14. Yeah. Because he was three behind, and then he scored another, which means he's at 14. So he's three behind the He's three behind four behind the record. Four behind the record. Yeah. He was three behind 17 before that started. He That was two. Two today. Scored two So now he's at 15 or 16. So he's down by two again. By two, and he is only And that's full time on that game. Eight. Yeah. He's a lot younger too. And Messi is 38, which this is probably gonna be Messi's last World Cup because You would think. We don't wanna he doesn't wanna go out like Ronaldo, looking sad and, because they've been in comparison. You can't mention Ronaldo without mentioning Messi. It it is. It's it's their neck and neck and shit like that. And random things being random, I just want this Zlatan commentating on everything. No. I like that. I don't know why they don't like Alex. Oh, I know why. He's just new. We ain't talking about it on air. Nobody is the Zlatan. But they don't treat Henri like that. Looks kind of But Thierry Henri is love. I love Thierry. Yeah. Is beloved as hell. He's annoying too. And Zlatan is I don't have followers. I have believers. Well, did you see Saba. But did you see that they edited his commercial? Yeah. The one where he's looking in the mirror when he says France or Canada appeared in the World Cup. They took that part out. Wow. Listen, I mean And I don't dig this Adidas thing, the one with the whole, the movie thing. I don't really dig that. It's not doing much for me. Well, had to do something Except because they were part of the the fact that you get two seconds of Ted Lasso. Outside of that Wow. Two seconds of Ted Lasso. He's in it. He's in it for like that long. And we're two months away. Two months away from the new season. I'm I'm embracing. I'm embracing. I'm not feel like they should have just ended it. But I like what they're doing. I do like the women's aspect of it. I like that. I I think that it's it's definitely a good aspect that they're going with it. But I also kind of feel like I I am cautiously optimistic. Yeah. Give me the same feel. I can roll with a new story. Yeah. Okay. Cool. Me me too. Yeah. And I'm a big Sudeikis fan. I love what's the lady? What's the team owner? Hannah Waddingham. How are doing? Mount Hannah. Yes, please. I was I didn't know she was in Game of Thrones. I didn't know You didn't realize she was Oh, wow. Shame. Well, she also shame me. Doing that now in the street with her And Lena Heady. So funny. But here's the funny thing. The first time I learned about the glory that is Hannah Waddingham after Game of Thrones, her and the mountain did a water commercial in Europe where they were basically the same characters, but as just people in a grocery store. And it's so off the wheels. Okay. It's so off the rails. And I'm just sitting there going like, I don't like blondes, but who's that? Yeah. Like And she's bad talented. She can sing. She sing. Is the star of Thundergong at that point, and she wasn't even there to start. And here's my thing. Okay. And I'm just gonna say it. If you live an hour radius of any of these cities and you have not partaken in any of this stuff, what is wrong with you? You have no soul. I'm talking about everything, not just fan fest. I'm talking about stuff like we're doing here at Clivemore Yeah. Like like in our any of any kind of celebrations. Yeah. You know, it's crazy. Dallas Stadium in Arlington. Dallas Stadium in That's not even recognizing Fort Worth. Yeah. I think that which is crazy to me because, like, my thing is is you would think, like, Fort Worth dropped the ball, I think, on this. Because here's the thing. Right? Right. But even MetLife says New York, New Jersey. Yes. But but they're including all both states in the watching or the fan fest or the they're doing pop ups and setups to where you can watch everywhere. I I think I can put a bow on this for you. Okay. Fort Worth should have pushed harder in their own committee to be part of Yeah. The They should or at least have a Some kind of branding. Yeah. A Fort Worth fan fest. Yes. Because you have the stockyards. You like, could you imagine the Europeans with the cows? Oh, don't have to. It's online. You know what saying? But, like, imagine Argentinians out there actually, like, doing all this stuff. Like, imagine what we could we could have had Mexico parties because Mexico is shutting it down. They know they are tearing it up. Yeah. They're just They shut nothing down. It's all up. Yeah. Turn it up to burn down. It Come on. And, like, the Koreans don't know what to do with themselves. The Japanese don't know what to do with themselves. We're we're about nine months away from a whole lot of. Okay? This is this is gonna be awesome. You know what I'm saying? And it's like, my thing is Fort Worth had the opportunity because Fort Worth, to be honest, is is a party city. If you don't if you've never partied in Fort Worth, you ain't partying. It's a different it's a different kind of party. Different kind of part because it's a it's technically a college town. It's the little brother. It it is it is because Dallas is pretentious. But Yeah. If you look at if you look at it, it's technically a college town. TCU is literally dead smack in the middle of Fort Worth. I'm gonna go one step. So technically, it is. Right. Right. But I'm saying, like, people don't think of Fort Worth that way because, like, they try to be pretentious. And it's like, no. Be the party animals that we know you can be. Yeah.
