A Mega-Sized Weekend of Sports, WrestleMania Rumors, & a Surprise Comic Book Debut | Episode 16-34
It’s a mega-sized weekend on The Clubhouse Podcast as Rob and Alex break down the latest headlines from the worlds of sports, pro wrestling, and pop culture.
The episode starts with a tribute to legendary coach Lou Holtz, followed by a deep dive into the latest NBA and NHL standings, including struggling teams, surprising playoff pushes, and whether the Vancouver Canucks might reach a historic negative goal differential.
The guys also debate a fascinating idea from Charles Barkley about whether losing teams should be banned from raising ticket prices — and what that could mean for fans across the NBA.
In wrestling, the conversation heats up with reactions to Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania rumors, and major storylines across WWE and AEW. They discuss potential matches, Hall of Fame inductions, and whether stars like Mance Warner and Steph Delander could be heading to WWE.
Plus, Rob shares exciting personal news — he’s officially appearing in a comic book — and the guys preview Retro Expo in Plano, Texas, where they’ll be hosting live panels and recording the show.
From sports standings and wrestling drama to pop culture conventions and comic book surprises, this episode has a little bit of everything.

It is eight o'clock on the East Coast, it is five o'clock on the West Coast.
It is the 5th of March in the year of our Lord 2000 and 26, season 16, episode 34, 755 times
you have been welcome to the Clubhouse Podcast, your one-stop shop for all things, sports,
entertainment, pop culture, and pro wrestling, welcome.
My name is Rob.
I am the executive producer of the Clubhouse Podcast and we're going to do a two-partner
this week.
It's not sweeps or anything.
We just kind of have to.
But I am not alone in this particular venture.
Don is out of the assignment this week, but joining me, things are moving very, very slow
on this.
I don't know what's going on.
Let's try that and see what happens.
Is my co-host and a man who's embarking on an adventure this weekend.
He is Alex.
Hey, man.
Hold on.
You're muted.
Well, it happens, but I am fully prepared for the weekend to beat the Smot.
I mean, it's going to, you're going to be fine, dude.
And we'll talk.
If you look at the T-shirt, you just use the word, right?
I do.
I haven't sick for three weeks.
No, there's no.
Oh, that's Rob.
Before we get started, I got a couple of announcements with our friends at first watch.
If you've never been to first watch, it is a breakfast brunch establishment that is
very, very good.
They're bringing some great flavors to Dallas and giving back in the process.
They've got some daytime dining favorites with a new menu.
Just don't get rid of the billionaire bacon and we're fine.
So I'm saying, because that's one of my favorite things in the world.
They've got some bold, locally inspired additions, like a barbacoa chili, chili, chili
ques.
Is that a set?
Yes.
Breakfast bowl.
This has seasoned beef barbacoa with cheddar and Monterey Jack Ranchero sauce, crispy
torntilla strips, avocado out live crema, Cotilla scallions, cheesy scrambled eggs and black
beans.
Also, they're going to have barbacoa breakfast tacos.
You have my attention.
Three wheat corn tortillas seasoned with beef barbacoa, scrambled cage-free eggs, melted
Monterey Jenner, cheddar and Monterey Jack, lime crema, Cotilla, pico de gallo and fresh
avocado out.
And we also have strawberry trace leche's French toast.
Come in the first watch, I'm here for it.
Oh, you're talking about the chilaquilets, okay, yes, yes, yes, I just verified.
Sit cut hola topped with fresh glazed strawberries, warm duce la leche whipped cream and spiced
gingerbread cookie crumbles.
And they're also doing a new kids menu in partnership with Dallas, Casa.
This is a place where you can donate your car and they work with kids on that.
First watch will also delegate 25 cents for every kid's meal sold at the DFW locations
to Dallas, Casa.
Also this coming Monday, March 9, free coffee to all customers because the time changes
this weekend.
Oh, yeah.
So go to first watch, you get one free hot coffee or ice coffee per guests and hot coffee
refills are available for dining guests only.
So go check out first watch, good food, good stuff, absolutely.
Let us dive right in.
We have one quick RIP in the world of sports, good mercy, tonight's going to be sports
and wrestling.
The pop culture stuff is going to come later, I'll tell you why later.
Lou Holt at the age of 89, legend in the coaching industry, his son coach to South Florida.
So there was a connection there.
Well skip kids coached all over, but that you have to also acknowledge and I'm not bashing
skip, but Lou Holtz was such a great coach and leader that skip could have just been terrible
and would still get as many jobs as he did.
Well, yeah, I mean, but you're also living in a very, very tall shadow.
Yes.
To be honest, I mean, it's hard to be Lou Holtz's kid.
To be honest, and I used to love when he worked for ESPN and he would do his own coaching
fire up speeches at half time of love that just, you know, University of football in North America
as he coached Notre Dame.
But and brought South Carolina back from the brink in the SEC.
And just a heck of a run and we want to give our, we have friends of the great Lou Holtz
passing away at the age of 89 this week.
Let's get into some standings in the NBA.
By the way, yes, the big 12 for the, for their conference tournament is going to be experimenting
with an LED court.
So that's interesting.
They use it in the NBA.
I'll start like game last year and it looks pretty cool.
But I mean, technology like that's come so far, it shouldn't cause any issues, but we
also know that this is modern technology, which means issues are baked in.
Well, and that's why I mean, I appreciate that they want to do it, but I wouldn't do it
in your conference tournament.
Well, but that's where you get your national.
I mean, yes, the big 12 has the big 12 network to an extent.
There was Fox Sports Southwest for a while, but when you get to the conference, that's
the thing that yes, or the conference championships.
That's when ESPN really starts picking up their broadcast leading into it.
So it's the perfect time.
But I feel like your testing ground should be like in the off season, play some scrimmage
games because you're going to have instances, because you have to work this out.
You're at a certain point, it's going to distract the players, depending on what you do
with it. Number one, number two, work out the things that you're not on live TV.
Yeah, but they've already been doing this and we hope so.
I hope so.
But number three, I'm just putting put the over under it, three of the number of games
before the LCD floor causes a controversial call one way or another.
Actually, the word is no, somebody misses a buzzer, beater, and the entire thing just
goes blue screen.
Or they do like the speed tournament, where the last three minutes, the whole lighting
changes every minute.
I mean, I just, I'm here for it.
Don't get me wrong.
Let's just sound a little man Rob.
That's the emotion.
It's all I'm saying.
Let's proceed with caution and I say throw it to the wind.
Let's go.
Like just have a big Pac-Man come across after a steal.
Well, goodness, I hit my own my microphone here.
But let's get into the standings and just picture Steph Curry getting eaten by
Pac-Man in the southeast conference where one of the teams isn't really in the
southeast.
And that would be the Washington with yards who are 16 and a half games back.
They are 15 games back of Atlanta.
That's right.
Yeah, a lot, but here's the rub.
Atlanta and Charlotte are tied at a game and a half back from Orlando in Miami.
Oh, interesting.
So think about that for a minute.
It's Washington 16 and a half games back their 15 back on Atlanta and Charlotte
and they're both a game and a half back on the leaders.
You know what?
This is how much I miss football.
You just described a Vanderbilt of old Vandy in the Atlantic division.
The Brooklyn Nets, they're not good.
They've won 15 games, you know, they're 25 and a half back in the division.
They're 18 and a half back of the 76ers.
Philly, two and a half back or a game and a half back of Toronto.
By the way, speaking of Philly, shout out to Charles Barkley.
He was on PCI late last week.
He's dropped like 70 pounds.
And he's still has bad takes.
But still respect with somebody's trying to better themselves.
So I'm saying, yeah, unless it's going to swing, that's just never happened.
That's his trademark by now.
Well, yeah, failure.
Philly, a game and a half back on Toronto, Toronto's four back on New York.
And the nicks are now a game and a half back on Boston.
By the way, Brooklyn's lost nine in a row.
In the central division, the Indiana pace are still struggling.
They're 31 back with their 10 back of the balls.
Chicago is now a two and a half back of Millowock K, Millowock K 12 back on Cleveland.
Cleveland is now seven and a half back on the Detroit Pistons, former chance of basketball.
In the Western Conference in the Southwest division, we're almost everybody's in the Southwest.
Why pelicans still cannot get off the ground there?
26 back there, three back of the Mavericks Mavericks now, two back of Memphis.
But Memphis is 14 and a half back at Houston, Houston, Houston.
And the Rock plays not ridiculous than sports.
New Orleans is in the Southwest DC is in the Southeast.
It's like, come on the Rock.
It's now five and a half back on San Antonio in the Northwest division where
three of the five are in the Northwest and their third, fourth and fifth in the division.
The Utah Jazz are 30 back.
They've lost seven in a row.
They are 11 and a half back of Portland, Portland now eight and a half back at Denver.
Denver's a game back of Minnesota, but it's still Oklahoma City's world and we're all just
living in it because they're nine games up in the division and the PA is running circles.
And in the in the Pacific, where only one team is not close to the Pacific Ocean,
but they're closer than everybody else.
The Sacramento Kings are 24 back there are 17 back of the Clippers.
Clippers are a game back of Golden State, Golden State now four back of Phoenix.
Phoenix now two back of the Lakers.
Interesting story comes out earlier this week.
And I believe it was the owner of the Phoenix Suns did this.
And I'm on board with this.
If you do, if your team does not go 500,
oh, I just lost Alex.
No, you didn't.
I adjusted so that since you were going to lead and I was going to be doing research,
I figured people wouldn't want to watch me on my phone.
Scared me.
If you're he said, if your team does not go 500,
you are not allowed to raise your ticket prices the next season.
I am fully on board with this.
I don't know that this will avoid tanking because tanking is now a thing that we deal
with in this world.
But if you suck, you suck.
And I appreciate that you still have a fan base that comes and wants to see you play,
which that should be motivation enough.
But if you're tanking, you should not be allowed.
No matter, in fact, you should probably have to bring your tickets down.
Your tickets should be relegated rather than promote it.
But I mean, that's just me.
I can't afford them anyway.
You know, I there was a sign that Alex, did you watch Dynamite yet?
Yes, I did.
There was a guy that had a sign on Dynamite that said, I did not, I did not have to
sell a kidney to be here at AEW.
That's what sports in general has turned into.
You can't, you're not going to be able to put, you're not going to be able to put
this Pandora's Box can't be closed because it's already too far open because
when you're rookie NBA contract is $12 million a year.
There's nothing really you can do about that.
But I like the concept of, hey, if you don't go 500, you can't raise your ticket
prices. And if you don't raise your ticket prices, then you have to work on salaries.
I'm here for it.
Thoughts?
I absolutely love it.
But I'm not finding an owner who has said that, but Charles Barkley did back on the 22nd.
Maybe it was Barkley.
He was on PTI, but they were talking about Phoenix too.
He said it on NBA on ESPN.
Phoenix said, the owner of Phoenix said something because they're going to have the
all-star game next year.
That was something that was supposed to be more for the fans.
But I agree with this 100%.
No, I, I dig it because it has to have some level of a concept.
But if I may devil's advocate because that's kind of my MO here, sure.
If you're going to wind up with those owners that are going to say, if I can't
raise ticket prices, I can't afford to bring in talent, which means I can't afford
to get better.
So there's going to be a point counterpoint on this.
But at the same time, I don't know of an owner who's not a billionaire.
So please feel free to go all the way off the dock.
Then our apologies to Charles Barkley.
I think they were both talking in the same episode, so kind of blood together.
And he used to play for Phoenix.
So it all works out.
I'm going to Kevin Bacon, this thing is too existence.
You know what?
You, you can say I apologize, Charles Barkley.
I'm not yet.
I need more NHL standings.
My Florida Panthers still in the cellar.
They are 17 points out of first place or two back on the Maple Leafs.
Toronto is two back on Odorwa.
The senators now six back on Boston Boston now, two back on the Montreal, Canadians.
Thank you, sir.
I'm not going to go the full month.
Y'all are three back on Detroit.
The Red Wings are a point back on Buffalo, who's on a four game heater.
And Buffalo now is only two points back on my beloved lightning.
Now where are we going?
The Metropolitan Division.
Thank you, sir.
The New York Rangers are still in the toilet.
They are 30 points out of first place and 10 behind the devils.
Jersey three back on Philly, Philly two back on Washington.
Washington's a point back on Columbus.
The yellow jackets are the blue jackets, the blue jackets.
They are five back on the islanders who are tied with the Pittsburgh for second place.
How about that?
And they are both still nine back on Carolina in the Western conference.
Pacific division.
The Vancouver can nuts.
They are 20, 29 points out of first place right now.
Vancouver, you might as well just say they're at the bottom.
We don't know how far.
They're 12 back on Calgary.
Flames are now seven back on the Kings who are two back on sand.
The sharks are three back on the cracking who are a point back on Edmonton.
The oilers are now three back on Anaheim, but Anaheim is only two back on Vegas right now.
So that division's getting a little snug in the central division.
Before we get off of that, I want to appreciate the effort put into San Jose.
I know you're playing her right now.
But that was a good effort.
Yeah, voice is about 85% right now.
I've got another couple of weeks before I have to sing.
So I got to get that thing back up and running.
Central division that has no Eastern or Western, the St. Louis blues.
They are on there are 36 points out of first place right now.
This is a team that was in a sale of finals not two, three years ago.
The same team they want to move out of Missouri.
They are a point back on Chicago.
The black hawks now two back on Winnipeg Jets are now four back on Nashville.
Nashville six back on mammoth.
Mammoth is 14 back on Minnesota who's three back on the stars.
By the way, stars on a 10 game heater right now, sir.
I have a team record 10 game streak.
Yes, sir.
And they are, but they're still six points back on Colorado.
Colorado's one three in a row.
It's just a solid franchise and they keep just beating people.
They're not doing anything spectacular.
But when you have Nathan McKinnon, it makes it easier.
And I got out of my windows a whole one second.
Yeah, that's all right.
We have to play North America's favorite game show.
Well, and in that same scope, we finally have an actual change to North America's favorite game show.
Since we've had multiple weeks of the Olympics and delaying it.
It was only a goal or two different, even when we were doing it.
So this is going to be the first one where we have a blind shot.
Well, I can tell you, I can tell you, it is what is the goal differential for the Vancouver
canucks, but I know from fact, totally unsurprised.
And Don didn't send me a prediction.
So you, you win by default, but unless I go over, well, one goal, no, no.
If I was having to guess at it, we had it at 55, 60 leading into the Olympics.
We've had about a week to go.
I'm going to go with 67, give me, give me seven goals on top of the 60.
The Vancouver canucks have played 61 games, which means we only have a lead and left in the regular season.
I'm sorry, you said how many games they played 61.
Okay.
They are 1836 and seven right now.
That is a total of 43 points, which is the same number of losses as they have.
Yeah.
There are 64 and five at home.
They're 12 19 and two on the road.
They're 17 and two on their last 10 and are on a seven game skid.
The good news is you didn't go.
Well, I was originally going to say 75 and I was like, let me dial this back in.
So how much of a change did that mean?
It's you would have been over, but not by much because currently the Vancouver canucks have a gold differential of minus 73.
We could have we could have triple digits, there's a chance.
Oh, we're going to get triple digits at this point.
You're saying it's 61 games and they're at 73.
If you use the math, we're going to get close.
Yeah, if we don't get it, it's going to be real close.
Well, but you also have to remember, I believe we're still coming up on the trade deadline.
Uh, or we just passed it, which means they're going to get it's today or tomorrow, but my point being is these are the exact kind of teams that'll have one, two, maybe three solid good players that other teams are going to want and maybe aren't building blocks.
So Vancouver's not going to hold on to them and try and flip them for draft picks.
They're probably going to get worse.
So two people outside of the people on this screen.
I've been, I've been holding on to something for a couple of months now that I'm ready to share with everybody.
This weekend is retro expo in the great city of Plano, Texas at the Plano Center, just off of Spring Creek and Central, just, just east of it.
It'll be Saturday and Sunday.
Alex and I will be there on both days.
I'll be hosting some Q and A's and then Sunday, we're going to be doing this show live.
At Retro expo.
So you want to make sure you're there for that.
That's why we're not doing the pop culture stuff tonight.
We're going to do that there because that's more of that audience.
We are going to be, uh, I'm going to be interviewing some people from the old Battle Star Galactica, the new Battle Star Galactica.
Bruce Culeck, who played with KISS for about 16 years.
He's got some great stories that I was, as I was doing my research.
Noah Hathaway, who was also in Battle Star Galactica, but he was also in the never ending story.
He's going to be there.
We're going to have a reunion of some people from Monster High, including the creator of Monster High.
But one of the people that's going to be there is friend of the show Terry Par, who is a graphic artist.
He does great work.
Uh, I actually got friend of the show Rachel, one of his prints that was, uh, the emperor with his Wattaburger order 66.
Pretty awesome.
Nice.
Well, back in January.
He puts a post on Facebook.
He's running working on it right now.
He's working on a book called Tomorrow Girl.
It's an independent book from Antarctic press.
And he says tomorrow girl number 16 is going to hit stands in a couple of weeks.
Takes place at a convention.
And I put some of my friends in it and I was like, oh, that's kind of cool.
Mark Walters from bigfamboy.com is in it.
And so is your boy.
Allow me to share with you right now.
Chabuya.
I am now officially.
I got a little Raleigh fingers thing going on right here.
But see, I take that more is like the smiling of the cheeks there.
That is okay.
I'll take that.
Um, I am over the moon.
It took me a while to find the book, but I found it last week.
I've got another one coming from friend of the show.
Taffeta darling out in California.
I am so excited about this.
And I was like, this is an amazing surprise.
And Terry was like, yeah, I meant to tell you like a year ago and forgot.
I want anybody watching or listening to analyze this.
Oh, I was going to tell you a year ago.
Name anything.
Get away.
How long it takes to do a book and get a public.
That's a little heads up ahead of time.
You know, somebody may take issue with being in print.
We call them jerks, but still.
Yeah, I am so thankful to Terry for doing this.
This is one of the coolest things ever.
It's tomorrow, girl number 16.
Go to your local comic store and demand it.
I'll have it.
I'm, I'm, I think Terry might have a couple within this weekend if he's got another one.
Because there's two or three different covers.
So I want to have at least one of every cover and it's going to go.
It's going to go back here in the, in the, in the bookshelf probably for next week's show.
I am so excited about this.
This is one of the coolest things ever.
So go to your local comic store.
Get tomorrow, girl number 16.
I think number 17 is out.
Number 18 is coming.
But this is.
This is one of the coolest things ever.
You'll see a couple of other of our, our confrins are in there.
But Mark's, Mark's actual, his little badge on his, well, his first panel says big fanboy on it.
You can't miss it.
So thank you, Terry, so much.
We're going to see Terry this weekend.
And we're going to ask him some questions.
Maybe some things coming down the pike.
Involved in this.
So tomorrow, girl number 16 from Ann Arte Press.
Go get you one.
And you can say, look, my friends in it.
Now you're not going to get a discount or anything.
But.
Yeah.
Your boys in a comment.
You're going to get it.
That's cool.
Your boys in a comic book.
Don't say.
I'm very excited.
And as I come down from that high, let's tell you about some of the other shows right here at Sunset Lounge DFW.
Hello, it's Mike Riner of your dark companion here.
Let me ask you, are you looking for something to fill the long dead air hours of your day?
Well, join the Sunset Lounge DFW and your dark companion on patreon.com.
YouTube and wherever you get your podcasts.
Replace those sad slow hours with sports, pop culture, music, woven into interesting conversations.
So step inside the green door.
Have a seat at the bar.
And get in the groove with those shows and so very much more.
And some big changes come into Sunset Lounge DFW.
So make sure you follow the channel.
Awesome things coming down the pike.
And also a reference for this weekend.
And now this.
If she pop pass, she pop passes the other half of this show.
When we talk about everything involved in sports of pro wrestling.
Welcome back of big headline.
I saw today, Alex.
Go on.
One of our favorites might be on the move.
Allegedly, Mance Warner and Steph DeLander will not be redoing their contract with TNA wrestling.
Well, they've been putting in great work.
Mance has gotten himself in great shape.
Steph has always been in great shape.
There's a bit more appeal here.
Plus.
We have seen this in recent memory where there's a lot of go where your friends are.
Enjoy the people around you.
And both Steph DeLander and Mance Warner are very close with Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green.
Who both happened to be on Smackdown currently.
So it would stand to reason that you'd get Mance Warner and Steph DeLander coming in
because Steph actually has background with the product having been in NXT years ago.
Mance would be, I believe, a new addition to it.
And I still owe him a hay bail shot.
Yes.
Well, I got you on TV for many weeks.
For many, many weeks.
Well, we also know it was actually Jimmy Havik, but I'm going to blame Warner because I can't find the other one.
The chamber was a thing.
It was it.
It was it was a structure.
It was it was a paint by numbers.
Yeah.
Shout out to the friend of the show Layelle who watched the show with me in the lobby of the hotel this past weekend.
Oh, wow.
Ordered some pluckers in Gordash and watched the chamber.
How do you feel about the rumors of what's coming out of the chamber tomorrow?
Go ahead.
You're alleged booking or a main title.
Keep going.
The expectation is that Cody beats Drew and it becomes Orton, Cody, it ain't.
My personal prediction is.
Drew is the champion going into Mania.
But it's now a fatal four way.
Who's your fourth?
Jacob.
Okay.
I can roll with you on that one.
I'm a big fan.
I don't think they do enough multi person matches anymore.
And I get that there is the elimination chamber.
There's the rumble.
There's when they do battle royals.
There's the tag teams and things of that ilk.
But I miss.
The concept of the.
Who could it be now if you do the four way like that.
I can see any one of those being the answer.
Obviously with the stack ranking being Jacob at the bottom.
Even though he's.
I don't know if I could say our favorite of those four, but he is mine.
But I'm also personally biased.
But I feel like.
And what you have talked about for years, Rob is wanting to bring back the championship scramble.
I was going to say it next.
I was going to feed it to you, sir.
Yeah.
I mean, I think that.
In that same scope.
Hit me with what you would do to make it that.
Well, especially given the way things happened on raw.
Where everybody and their brother showed up.
L.A. night driving.
Jimi Uso showing up and super kicking.
Why not do a scramble for this?
Because this will be the match that opens night one because as we know.
Excuse me.
The non Roman match opens night one.
So.
Why not come in hot allegedly.
There is currently a discussion as to which men's title gets in the end of night one.
And which gets the end of night two.
Well,
but if you do a scramble like that.
Yes, that is a hot match that you open a card with.
Yeah.
But then the men's match that was not Roman open night one last year.
I believe the men's match with Roman the triple threat was night one.
We have the end of night one and Cody was the end of night two.
That was the intercontinental.
That's right.
That was the world title.
But again, men's world title opens night one that's not involving Roman.
Correct.
In the open.
But the clothes was Roman.
Rhea Ripley now going to her seventh mania.
He deserves it.
I mean, this is a different story from the.
Oh, we're getting people forced out our throat.
She's the best person on the roster.
And I don't care about what.
I agree with you.
I agree with you.
I agree with you.
I just.
I like.
Charity.
I like the chamber.
I see the chamber.
A lot like Don sees money in the bank, which he's not wrong.
The elevations at us.
Yes.
Yeah, you're not.
I actually don't disagree with either of you.
But the other problem you have right now is you can't do that.
The company can't do that because they're not selling enough ticket.
Move the needle.
I was muted and cussed on air because I was trying to put you on a one shot and I removed
you from the stage.
But the problem is they're going to be doing the paint by numbers with all the recognizable
names because they only have like half the building sold.
It's going to be ridiculous.
We're going to see paint by numbers.
There's going to be nothing exciting until afterwards.
And that's if Mania winds up landing.
I expect Mania to be decent because it usually is even like as Don has put it grading on the
major scale.
Mania is going to be better than just about everything else, but how does it fit as a Mania?
They're going to be trying to do as much low hanging fruit as possible as belt tickets.
New women's intercontinental champion and AJ Lee.
Great match.
Love heart.
Punk's entrance 10 out of 10.
No notes.
The moment I heard serious start.
I was like, I don't care what else happens.
I now feel better about all of this.
I jumped off the couch.
I was sitting on like, yes.
All the amount of people complaining about it though.
Oh, get a hobby.
I mean, and he had the black hawks.
Well, the bulls color scheme with the black hawks in the stars or in the Chicago stars.
It was perfect.
And both he and AJ were bleeding from their mouths by the end of their matches.
What we said last week of what's in the box?
That came to fruition and I'm okay with it, you know.
But I still think they shouldn't have run it this long.
They should not have run it this long with.
You know how much I love Dan housing and how highly I think of him as a performer.
He was the wrong person to have a month long build.
Not because he didn't deserve it because that crowd.
The WWE crowd oftentimes tends to be very tribalistic.
And they don't necessarily know an indie superstar coming in all the time.
Even AJ styles, it had to be, you know, TNA, New Japan.
He'd already done everything everywhere else.
So people knew Dan housing.
He's a different mold.
He's the art truth mold.
He's the entertainment mold.
People like that are important, but they don't necessarily move the needle on a tribalistic crowd.
True thousand.
Let's do it.
I still, I still claim for roots of day housing.
I, you know, I know you do.
And he was wearing the recent knee shirt a couple weeks ago.
Yep.
Our one of each night of Mania will be a night one.
The first hour will be on the doose.
And night two, the first hour will be on the mothership.
And it will start at six Eastern.
I'm, I'm still shocked.
I genuinely thought anything that was going on ESPN similar to how they did it with the chamber was just going to be the pre show.
But they started an hour earlier than I expected.
So I'm actually kind of intrigued by this idea of everything moving a little bit earlier, both for the West Coast.
And because I'm old and tired.
That's fair.
I can't quote punk.
We don't say those things on this show on purpose.
Awkward time.
Little mercy.
I'm old.
I work.
Yeah.
Children.
Demolition now going into the Hall of Fame.
That's been asked for a while, hasn't it?
And it will be Friday, April 17th at midnight Eastern.
Are you okay with it just being the original two, though, instead of including crush.
I would have included them.
I would have two, but I wonder if there's something else behind the scenes on that one.
And the ceremony will be at Dolby live at the MGM Green.
Yeah.
And we have heard in various previous instances of people turning down the invite.
And I think it's going to be something that was there.
But I think they'll be able to find us.
I think the demolition was allegedly on that list for a while.
So something may have changed with that.
But right now we have demolition staff, AJ styles.
And I believe there was one other announced.
I haven't heard anybody else.
I'll take a look at it, you handle.
Rumors of Tom Brady at WrestleMania this year.
really just be to call in Gronk to plow through Logan Paul.
It looks like your next Saturday night's main event is going to be May 23rd, which seems
to be kind of a tradition for them now, because that is Memorial Day weekend.
Actually, no, it's the weekend before Memorial.
No, it is Memorial Day weekend because that would be the 31st on a Sunday.
So last year they did it Memorial Day weekend with NXT looks like that's going to happen
again this year.
Friday night I was driving down to Flutreville for a show, and I'd stopped off at Bucky's
with the great James Cytow.
And as I was collecting provisions and things of that nature, I got a text from Alex.
And you asked me if I'd watched anything yet, and I was like, no, I'm still on the road.
Oh, yes, yes.
And so you had me call you for what could have been a spoiler.
But you know how we are anti-spoiler on this show, we hate spoilers, but I was trying
to save my friend.
And then he proceeded to tell me what happened with our truth.
I won't say that him explaining how to get and use an app.
I would not put it on a Michael Collian level, but it was weird.
See, I thought it was worse.
I genuinely took it worse than the coal incident.
And I think there's a genuine part of this that it's land softer with our truth because
we're always waiting for him to save it.
Even if it's a dumb bit, truth has a way to make it funny and save it.
And we were just kind of, uh-huh.
Well, I knew it was out of character.
Yeah.
It's just weird.
It was weird.
It really sucks.
I didn't know what to do with that.
And we have new women's tag champs.
Because of course we do.
We knew what was coming on elimination, jambour, so we had to set up the bag.
I hate that we're breaking up Rhea and Yo.
But I'm glad one of them didn't turn on the other one.
Yeah.
See, I'm good with this because I feel like Eo's style is going to be perfect fitting
into like the intercontinental mold.
Another AJ Lee is done with this run.
Eo feels like, actually, you want me to give you a very weird reference because one of
the first people that believed in Eo and started pushing her was Sean Michaels.
I can see her having an early singles HBK run where he was just on every show defending
the ICT title and putting on good matches.
I feel like I can see Eo being a not to you overuse the term pillar, but a pillar of netflix
doing the women's IC matches because on that show, we have punk wanting to defend.
But that's not how the company works with their top titles.
The care who unfortunately has been getting injured and not doing much with it.
The tag titles, which I haven't seen defended in God knows how long no disrespect to the
Eo's, I believe they have injury, but then you had Dominic who's been in Mexico.
So you need somebody to have some kind of a title going on.
Nobody cares about the speed title.
Stop pretending like it's a thing.
NXT has NXT, but Raw is literally only has the women's intercontinental title that
may be getting shown regularly in a match.
All right, let's see.
So dismissive.
I mean, what else can I say?
You said it all, brother.
There's nothing I have to add, you laid it all out there, and I'm good with it, don't
get me wrong.
But sometimes, you gotta leave a tender moment alone, that's fair.
Bayley's next lone stone women's wrestling seminar will take place during the week.
Is it load stone with a D?
L O D E.
Okay.
I will take place during Mania Week, Bake in Vegas, April the 16th from 7 a.m., 3 p.m.
So everything she ever wants, just give it to her.
And if you got $400 laying around, and you can go to www.shop.com, you can have a piece
of the canvas from a selected raw coming up, which name on it?
I still feel like this is a con.
I'm not using that as a name.
Is that a pun?
I was cutting it off from being taken that way.
No, I'm talking about C-O-N-A confidence job because everything we've seen on this, and
I told you at lunch, it's the same thing UFC has done with their black barrier on the
inside of it where you would get the cut off, but those are really expensive.
This for raw feels like they're just going to cut up Matt, print whatever name you put
to be on it, but I don't believe it's actually going to be on the mat, and I don't believe
it's actually going to be used, Matt.
I think it's just what they're going to cut up.
Now I will fully cop to the fact that I want to be wrong.
I want to see people who paid to have their names on the apron or on the ring or on the
mat to be on the mat.
I just don't think it's going to happen.
And you'll have it matted and framed and everything, $400 out the door.
And the first one will be from the MSG show on March 30.
So you got that going for you, which is nice.
Prove me wrong, prove me wrong WWE still no commercial skip next day on Netflix.
But it seems like and I know I'm not let me just say this I'm not trying to justify this
because it's wrong.
But it seems like their commercial breaks go very fast, even though they're still two
and a half three minutes piece.
I think part of that is all of theirs are baked into feel like 30 second spots.
So they're quick hit and move along.
But then you get other shows where it's the exact same length of a break, but it's only
three ads that each gets 60 seconds.
So it feels drawn out more.
So I appreciate the quick hit, but I'd still rather skip ads.
CB Seven Reno's in the chat room.
What's up?
He says, what's up?
We say, what's up?
You know, that's how we do things.
We see here new intercontinental champion because Dan Housen's curse.
That's right.
And he did get his triple H pick that he demanded with welcome to the big dance housing.
The yep.
Well, we have the Hall of Fame induction of blimp and his own camera crew and he dropped
in the toilet.
Yes.
Oh, I did like punk breaking Roman when he was like, this could have been a tweet.
Yeah, that was pretty good.
And God, these are two of the best on the planet, just with the stake in their hands.
Yeah.
I mean, could you, I know this is, you know, the doctor who rolls and everything, put
those two in the same ring with MJF getting young void in a triple threat.
You know, we would get those old ones where you had two legends to borderline legends.
And then there was the young up and come and it was always setting up the young up and
come her to rise to the occasion or be left behind.
Give me MJF in the triple threat with these two just on the stick because I'd watch that
for three hours a night.
I'm not kidding.
That was, that was a great battling promo and really, really wise vengeance day Saturday
night, starting at seven Eastern.
So I'll probably be watching on delay because we'll probably be leaving retro expo about
that time because we got the cosplay contest that we'll be hosting.
Nothing really from collision, shout out to last week's Dynamite for Orange Cassidy's graphic
when he walked out with the lost poster reward of $15 gift card.
See, my problem was how they split it and I think it was on purpose.
And I was going freshly orange, squeezed Cassidy, all right, of Penelope Ford out with an
ankle injury.
We can't get away from that segment before we have something that pertains to us go that
came in.
David Finley is all elite and so are the dogs.
Yeah, I wasn't there yet, but yes, well, that was part of that segment.
Did you just say to jump around?
The lost Roddy thing was last week.
Yes, that was this week.
Oh, I didn't realize we were talking about last week still.
So I said last week's Dynamite, I don't, I don't know, Penelope Ford out with an ankle
injury.
You hate to see that for her, but yeah, answer David Finley and they are being called
the dogs.
That's why I said the dogs.
So it makes me wonder maybe do we get of Brody King involved in this thing?
I don't think so because that was so distinctly with buddy.
And yes, Brody King still has the barking, but he's, he doesn't need a moniker at this
point.
Brody King's already must watch and he has one of the biggest programs going into revolution
in my opinion.
So I see where you're coming from with that, but I think they're going to be wholly separate.
You have new Trio's champs.
I am of the firm belief that this is just going to be a belt swap.
Yeah.
So who do you think it will wind up on the next time it lasts longer than two months?
Which belt, the Trio's, I'm talking about the swap will stay with Don Carlos, but the
two people that had belts in that match that now have double belts will drop those belts
back to the.
Now I see what you mean.
I thought you were saying that the Trio's was going from face to like, I thought you
were talking about the, the old school face, heel, face, hot swap of the Trio's titles.
Yeah, but I think that Don Carlos family will freebirds rule this thing.
I, you know what?
I'm here for that.
I love that idea.
If only because I want there to be a circumstance where we have the death riders just because
we're starting to move them face or something equivalent.
Let me, let me put it in that context.
But it's more the death riders M O where you have all of the big hitters have been taken
out backstage.
Kyle Fletcher has found any heat.
Mark Davis has found any heat.
Lance Archer has found any heat.
Much like there's nobody else right now.
Wait, wait, wait, but I want just the three to be left to be like Rocky, to be Trent,
to be at just area and have Don Carlos going, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, we know the
free bird rule, but not this.
And then they make them defended anyway.
I want to talk a little bit about the concept of the main event because I had a thought
last night, the concept of the main event.
There has been a trend as of late that you and I are both not on board with.
And that is the co main event, because if you're not the main event, you're not a, there's
no such thing, which is what we had last night.
And I was mad here.
Here's my idea.
If you're going to do two main events, why not have a men's main event and a women's
main event and then swap them?
One goes, one gets the hammer one week.
The next one gets the hammer the next week, because both the matches last night were main
event worthy.
Yeah, and I understand where you're coming from, but I think part of that actually flies
on the face of what AEW is trying to do on a positive where they're not trying to say,
oh, it's this gender's main event or it's this gender's main event will specify it's
the gender's title, but everything is in there.
Like, I obviously, I'm upset that Tecla got bumped out of the main event.
Now granted, the trio's title is a main event worthy matchup, but you understand where
I'm coming from.
Don't tell us that there's this whole big thing and then just hot swap off of it.
Yeah.
If anything, you should be like, you should have that heel moment or whatever that says,
you will do it, but not tonight, because you have others, another show.
Because we are, we are proliferated with the, we'll do this on my time in this business.
I did, I've watched most of ring of honor tonight from the, they did the taping at that studio
in Jacksonville.
Mm hmm.
What do you think of it?
Do this, continue to do this.
Is it the, or is it the, the layout that I requested kind of sort of modernized or
just not the same?
It's very bare bones, but it's supposed to be right, but I mean like it's not even as
ornate as world championship wrestling was on Saturday nights.
But it's okay.
I'm okay with what they're doing.
It is a TV studio with a big white wall that goes around about half of the audience that
they just have uplights on.
There's maybe a hundred people there, maybe, but I'm, the photos I saw only had them on
two sides.
I think there, I think there's actually three, but it's not by much.
I'm okay with this.
I like this.
This is the ring of honor that I believe it should be.
The gillies ring of honor.
Well, I think there are even more people gillies than there were in that studio.
But you get what I mean of the, we've often said, yes, with TV, the size of the house
is not as important as the heat from the house, whether it be positive or negative.
Give us a reason to be excited.
It's the next concept with Jim Ross.
Give people a reason to care about the match and don't put the lights on them because people
will get rowdy or when they're not in a spotlight.
It's that concept.
I like it.
Keep it where it is.
Keep doing this.
I'm good with it.
Especially if you're going to turn it into a great training ground and letting people
that need that ring work.
Go.
And you're in Jacksonville, which is where this should be.
Anything else you want to talk about?
You know, it's a short episode.
I'm really looking forward to this weekend on and getting to our pop culture side on
Sunday.
We're going to have a lot of cool things to talk about, whether it be movies we've seen.
Stuff we've watched this week for either of them.
It's going to be a really good time.
I hope there's a lot of people out there because we could actually get some interaction
going because if this is anything like my stand up career, I suck at stand up, but
I'm great at crowd work.
Just come out and hang out all weekend.
It's a great show.

There we go.
Let's see here, I know I'm missing a name.
Lorette Spang, who played Cassiopeia in the original Sarah Rush, who was Rigel in the
original BSG.
Trisha Helfer, Edward James, almost.
James Callis, who played guys, Baltar, Grace Park, who played Boomer, I said Bruce Culeck,
Noah Hathaway, David Kay, who was on Beast Wars, Ian James Corlett, who I'm going to make
him tell a story that I had made him tell last year that has nothing to do with voice acting,
but he has a very cool place in rock and roll history that I'm going to get him to talk
about as well.
We're going to have some great cosplayers, a monster, high reunion, cosplay contests.
Retro Expo is a great show.
We want everybody to come out and hang out with us all weekend, you know, we don't bite
unless provoked.
